Bless. My name is Asma Kamara, I am the muse painted in this series. They have unexpectedly gone viral in recent times and I figured I would share the short story behind them and also keep the artist and I properly credited. This time it is not just a made-up character, but a real person of Sierra Leone descent portrayed into a fantasy world.

Sometime back in 2015, Mia reached out to me about a new series of paintings she was beginning: a West African Alice in Wonderland. Since then I have been photographed by her twice in the past which she uses as reference for her sketches and paintings.
She would direct me to model in various whimsical poses to capture the look and feel of Alice. Mia has been selling these paintings and pushing this concept at various art and comic conventions over the years, including her other works.

My favorite part about the paintings are the details she gives each character and scenery which I feel gives us a peek into her amazing imaginative and artistic mind.
Those of you that have been following me long enough know that I used to wear my hair in a pixie cut, which was one of my features Mia liked best abo it me to capture this new Alice. Even down to the cartridge piercing, Mia captures every detail of me as is/was.
Whenever we encountered, Mia and I would always marvel at the possibility of this story being MORE than just paintings, but something made into a live motion picture, as she also has been writing a new tale to go along with this new fantasy world. Please continue to support and credit us along this journey. We are ecstatic to see where it goes 💜
