EVENT: SWEET LIPS REOPENING!

With the completion of their revamp, local Paint-And-Sip Sweet Lips is reopening as a candy store and snack bar this weekend. To celebrate, they will be holding a store-wide sale as well as keeping you entertained for your visit, so be sure to stop by on the big day — Saturday, July 13th, 2019 — if you’ve got a sweet tooth! 

The store in Barae stocks sugary baked goods, chocolate and candy, as well as various snacks and chilled goods perfect for the summer months. 

Sweet Lips’ return will be the first re-opening since June 14th’s riots, though the initial closure of the store for refurbishments is believed to have been unrelated to the events.

To say she felt out of place was an understatement. Upon request of old co-workers that didn’t suspect her of murder she had agreed to attend the event. With most of them mingling however she preferred to isolate herself and stick to the side lines. Remaining quiet, like a shadow almost the bar-lady blended herself with the walls and paintings more so than her old co-workers who were buzzing and enjoying the false pretense of peace and security.

Tongue snarling the cunning thief took a sip of her champagne, red lipstick staining the glass. She heard him before she saw him. Eyes turning to the right, Bella lowered the glass as a smirk was already forming around the glass, smudging the red stains further across the clear material.

healing was a process that he was too familiar with by now. it was also something that he absolutely despised by this point, but mingyu had no other choice but endure. if he could keep pushing forward to the next day, then eventually he would be completely healed and everything would go back to normal. for a while, his spirit was broken, but he was beginning to regain his previous state of mind. the fire in his heart had been reignited and he had thirst for a lot of the desires that felt far away at times during his recovery. he looked forward to being physically powerful enough to return to his profession, but he was needing to take this slow for now.

to regain a bit of normality, he was going out on the first date with wonwoo since he had been hurt several months ago. getting dressed up in formal wear had been something that he missed a lot. he loved feeling professional, expensive, and smart, which is what dressing in a tuxedo did for him. currently, his long, large fingers worked their way up his boyfriend’s white shirt, buttoning each button on his way to the top. his movements were quick and experienced, his gaze flickering from what he was doing up to wonwoo’s face. with the help of a soft smile, his expression shifted into an extremely gentle one as he breathed out a quiet laugh. “so handsome. i’m in awe by the way you never fail to take my breath away.”

EVENT: CHILDREN’S CELEBRATORY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Desperate to see your biases in person again? Want to help raise money for children in need and enjoy some of the top talent our city has to offer? Seoul’s first Children’s Celebratory Festival  Saturday, July 14th, 2018! 

Featuring performances from over thirty groups of various calibre, the long afternoon is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience! Come along and see top groups and discover new indie artists, enjoy a bit of street food and most importantly — raise money for the youth of Seoul without even realising! 

Tickets cost ₩80,000 with 50% going straight to youth centres across the city. We’ll reveal how much we’ve raised at the end of the concert, so make sure to stick around for the ending ment! 

Merchandise and food sold at the event are unaffiliated with the organisers and proceeds may not go to charity. SPD will join our existing security team to ensure safety for all attendees and performers. 

This is one of the many events within mi:summer !

As explained above, music event organisers have put together a music festival honouring Seoul’s youth and their everlasting love of the music industry — the Children’s Celebratory Festival! 

You can write about this should you wish to starting now, but please remember that the event itself is held on Saturday, July 14th. The concert starts at 2 PM and is predicted to last to around 9 PM, however, it is possible for time to run over due coordinating, largely due to the amount of groups performing. 

Speaking of which, in terms of groups, assume recent big names like those of SM and JYP will have performed! It’s unlikely for veterans to make an appearance, especially given that the performances are to honour the youth (of which most idols nowadays are still!), but if you have any specific questions about this (or anything else), feel free to IM the main or Admin Woo directly! 

Structure of the concert is as you’d expect of a K-Pop festival — title tracks, ments, collaborations! There will also be short intervals throughout, as well as street food and drinks vendors around for refreshments. The festival is in an open air arena. 

Technically, there’s no deadline for this, but note that a follow-up or rounding off for this event will be posted on the day itself right after our regular mi:saturday, so if you want to get involved, we recommend posting about it before then if you can!

Hello, lovelies!! It’s hard for us to believe, but today, August 6th, 2017, marks one year since our former Admin Jaerim welcomed us both as Mod Woo and Mod Gyu. It’s crazy to think that we’ve been watching over our home for so long already— We know that over the past year, there have been some tough times and that MI has gone through a lot of changes both aesthetically and structurally, and we’re incredibly grateful to you all, old and new, for being a part of MI’s growth and our family for the past 365 days. It’s thanks to all of you that we have such an incredibly fun time running Murder Inc., and we’re just as excited — if not more! — to see where the future takes us in the years to come. 

So, to celebrate the past year and all of that fun we’ve had, we’d like to invite you all to take part in the second iteration of mi:playlist! Some of you may have already made playlists for the mini event last time around, or for your own enjoyment in the mean time, but this time, it’s a little different. 

In honour of all the development our muses have gone through in the past year, your mission is to create a playlist based around anything your muse has experienced in that time. Anything from August 6th 2016 to August 6th 2017 is fair game — be it the life-changing decision to pledge your allegiance to a gang or that one time they got a little too drunk and tried to do The Worm and failed; anything goes! Perhaps your muse met the love of their life this past year or made a mortal enemy, or perhaps they grew even closer to their best friend or reunited with a family member — feel free to make a playlist about their relationships, too; NPC or otherwise! 

As always, this event is completely optional and open to all members, no matter how long you or your muse have been here. We treasure every single one of you and we look forward to seeing what you guys create! Make sure to tag all your playlists (make as many as your heart desires!) with mi:playlist as before, so that we and all the members can find them with ease. EVENT: HALLOWEEN CARN-EVIL IN TOWN — READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Over the past week, you might have noticed the bright lights in the distance outside of Yeongi, or the large circus tent slowly built out in the open plains. Good news is the spooky time of the year isn’t getting to your head — the Carn-Evil is in town! 

Head over to Myeongcho’s very first Halloween Carn-Evil for over a week of fun, games and scares! 

The event covers the entire of a large plain on the outskirts of our main city, featuring many carnival games such as Hook-A-Duck and food stands and trucks. Get your face painted or pop into our House Of Mirrors for a fresh, new look, or perhaps you’d like to test the limits of your stomach on one of the high speed amusement rides. Support local artists and entertainers on small stages and art exhibitions, and, of course, the travelling circus in their main stage event in the trademark tent every day at 12PM, 3PM, 6PM and 9PM. 

The carnival will be here for ten days only so make sure to visit before it’s too late! Entry is only ₩7,000 per adult and ₩5,000 for children under 18 (and those who pass for it if you can convince the ticket seller!). Don’t miss out! 

WELCOME TO MI’S NEWEST MINI EVENT WITHIN MI:SPOOKTOBER!

IC, this event takes place from Friday, October 25th, 2019 at 9AM til Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 at midnight. The carnival has been set up on the outskirts of Yeongi before the any of Myeongcho’s forestry. OOC, the event overall lasts until midnight at the end of Friday, November 15th, 2019 as stated in the event’s overall post here on the main.

To earn +3 points, write a four-post thread or 200+ word solo about your muse participating in any part of the carnival/festival. Threads must hit four posts before the deadline to count for points. Solos must also be posted before the deadline. You can only claim points for this once.

As always, we encourage you to cause any and all trouble you can stomach! It’s a busy place, so we’re sure no one will notice a few visitors going missing in the crowd, for example... Your gangs will certainly be active even if you’re not, so expect something to go wrong...

Anything that’s ordinarily at a carnival/funfair or circus, you can expect to see here with a bit of a darker, Halloween-themed twist!

EVENT: MPD REVEAL DATE FOR SUMMER AWARDS CEREMONY

Almost a month on, the MPD have publicly announced the date for their honours ceremony which will see recovering Officer Song Dawon receive an award for his heroic actions and resilience in the face of extreme danger. Other officers will also be honoured at the event, including Detective Kwon Jonghyun who will commemorate thirty years of ongoing service. Detective Kwon has worked the majority of Myeongcho Police Department’s major cases in that time period, including the assassination of their former chief in 2016. 

Though the event is exclusive, members of the public with a connection to the force will have the opportunity to attend and press photos will be released of the ceremony the following morning. The venue for the event, the luxurious Museum of Myeongcho, will close at an earlier time on August 17th ahead of the celebrations. Museum officials have stated only staff will be allowed to help prepare. 

Reportedly, all guests will be served a three-course meal after the awards ceremony and will end the night with soft, classical music and slow dancing. After 11PM, the music will cater more to a younger audience, so if you’re interested in getting your grind on, be sure to stick around until then. 

In their reveal statement, officials for the event said, “The MPD are thrilled to be celebrating their talented officer’s achievements with you and to pledge together for a brighter future for Myeongcho Island. Thank you.”

IC, the event takes place on Saturday, August 17th, 2019 at Museum of Myeongcho in Yeongi. As stated above, the museum will be closed to visitors at an earlier time of 2PM to allow for preparations to be made ahead of the event’s start time of 6PM. OOC, the event lasts until midnight at the end of Saturday, August 24th, 2019. The date has been known IC to MPD members for longer than a week ahead of the event; this is the public reveal. 

Though the official advertisement for the event says only those with a connection to the force may attend, this event is open to all! Get creative about how your muse got on the list — Identity fraud? Hacked their name into the system? A lonely officer’s escort plus one? Just plain broke in? The world is your oyster! 

To earn +2 points, write a four-post thread or 200+ word solo about your muse attending the ceremony. Threads must hit four posts before the deadline to count for points. Solos must also be posted before the deadline. You can only claim points for this once. We encourage you to be cunning, clever and cause trouble! Just perhaps don’t damage too many of the museum’s priceless artefacts...

『 Make a M O V E 』   ⇢ MI Mini Event (+2 P) ⇢ the sparkle of the jewels resembled the sparkle of joy in her eyes

“ The thrill, the danger, the feeling of superiority when getting away safely; she loved it all . ”

The opportunity was too good to pass up. Even if she had been given little time to prepare for this mission, Bella was a master at improvising and thus found herself walking that fine line between danger and plain insanity as she sipped away on her glass of champagne. 

The piece of evidence sat heavy in her pocket, a priced gift she had been eternally grateful for. It had been Janitor’s idea to take a tape and document the fingerprints of not only a registered Hydrus member who had been in prison before but a registered member of Phoenix too. 

Her mission from there on was simple: take the jewels, place down fingerprints of both the members and let the MPD fuel up the rest. Both gangs would fall under suspicion, blaming one another to be framed. In such a web of lies and treason one would not believe the other. With the previous execution and the on-going tension it would only be another drop added to the barrel filled to the brim.

Another step closer to the war that was inevitable to come.

Her pupils dilated at the excitement the thought alone made her feel. Teeth biting down slightly on the glass she was almost too eager to go about her mission right then and there but the female had to play her cards right. Wait for the right moment till the whole place would be buzzing with life, people left and right disappearing and reappearing without much notice. 

It was in a moment like that when she made her move. 

Slithering into the shadows the female made her way towards one of the many rooms filled to the brims with treasure. Picking out the one with the least security was just another thing Janitor was great at.

“Open Sesame, dear Janitor~,” she sang sung into the nothingness and heard a faint chuckle from the small button in her ear.

“Don’t you feel somewhat bad doing this under the nose of your old co-workers? They did invite you to set a statement that they believed in your innocence...”

Bella merely scuffed as the security lock clicked opened and the sound of her heels clicking across the ground sounded through the room. Security camera buzzing away with a loop of nothingness hacked into the system she walked comfortably up towards her treasure, smirk widened across her face when the red of the ruby staring back at her almost coloured her own dark orbs a shade of crimson.

“Please. I have no room for such sentiments any longer,” she muttered in a sinister voice, tone cold and void of emotions. A sigh met her but no other word was said aside from the information that she had 60 seconds. Doing quick work of sliding her gloves on, taking the priced necklace and adding the fine touch of the fingerprints to the crime-scene she hummed beneath her breath, letting the door fall shut just in time for the security lock to click back into place.

“Keep the loop running Janitor. Gimme ten minutes to engage some folks into conversation and secure an alibi. Think y’can do that for me, darlin’?” Already sliding back into her speech pattern as good ol’ Bella, the bar lady who could harm no fly unless threatened, she sent the necklace along with her gloves and the used tape for the fingerprints soaring out a window where one of her bar workers was waiting to catch the fine bounty and make off into the night with it. Everything went perfectly according to plan and she loved it. 

The smug grin on her lips disappeared as soon as she stepped back into the light of the party, grabbing a glass of champagne to down half of it and make it look even more like she had been here the whole time. After all- who would leave their half finished glass unattended?

EVENT: TOASTED MARSHMALLOWS AND SPOOKY STORIES... ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH?

Want to test your resolve? How long can you last under the moonlight through a night full of spooky stories? The Yeongi Community Centre invite you to find out. 

On October 27th, 2019, Myeongcho Cemetery will open its gates for their first ever public event. Bring your marshmallows, thick blankets and all your courage to their Ghoulish Bonfire at 8PM to chat, share spooky stories with flashlights under your chins and a chill running down your spine! Drinks and snacks won’t be provided, so make sure to bring your own if you’re planning to stay a while. There’s no entry fee, though you might end up paying in missed sleep if the tales are good enough! 

The bonfire will be lit at 8:15PM to allow for attendees to arrive and settle. The forecast is clear skies, but in the event of heavy rain, the event will be relocated to another venue. The team from Yeongi Community Centre ask that all guests vacate the premises by 2AM to ensure your safety, as organisers will stay no longer than this time. 

Please remember that whilst this event is all for fun, its venue is still a place of rest. Please be respectful of your surroundings and other visitors, and do not leave a mess when you leave.

As always, we encourage you to cause any and all trouble you can stomach! Maybe you’re a soft touch and can barely say ‘Boo!’ and grab someone’s shoulders whilst they’re telling a scary ghost story. EVENT: MYEONGCHO MALL’S MONSTER MASH & DIAMOND THEATRE LATE NIGHT FRIGHTS 

The largest mall complex on the island is no stranger to festivities, as is shown in their schedule for the upcoming month in line with various other events across the city and beyond. 

To start, make sure you pick up a pumpkin basket at any of the entrances to the mall to collect free candy in from every store. Additionally, party store Celebrations will be selling their extended range of costumes and accessories for 25% off from October 7th until 13th. After that, everything will be available still but at full price. 

Love You A Latte Cafe will be serving their trademark Halloween treats for the duration of the month, as well as themed afternoon tea sessions for those a little more sophisticated. If you’re looking for something a little more casual, Starbucks has just released their new Halloween special edition tumblers — pick one up while you still can! 

A number of pop-up stalls will also be appearing in any and all open spaces, including a tarot card reader, handmade spooky gifts and decorations, face painting, handmade costumes and accessories, and, of course, ghoulish snacks and treats. These stalls will be present almost every day for the entire month, particularly weekends. 

Until October 24th, you can also sign up for the mall’s pumpkin rolling race at the help desk! The race will take place at 5PM on Friday, October 25th and the winner will bag a ₩250,000 voucher to spend anywhere within the mall! 

Additionally, over at Diamond Theatre, a different Halloween, horror or thriller movie will be played every night at 10PM until November 7th for 20% off regular ticket prices. All candy sold at the theatre will also be themed, so come along for some jelly spiders if not for the wide range of classics! A full list of movies and dates is available on their website.

EVENT: FRIDAY THE 13TH, YOUR UNLUCKY DAY?

To celebrate 2018′s second Friday the 13th, Club ACE are following their tradition of hosting the hottest parties with a horror-filled night starting 7 PM! 

Those not in some kind of ‘Halloween’/horror costume will be refused entry — don’t be a spoil sport! Entry is free for women as per normal Friday rates, with a 30% discount. For men, a reduced entry free of ₩15,000 will get you into the elusive club, where drinks for you are 20% cheaper than regular prices. 

Open ‘til late with all your favourite horror tunes (the night won’t be complete until Thriller plays!), dance the night away alongside beautiful dancers and cheaper alcohol — what could go wrong!

As an added bonus, all entrants will be entered into an unlucky prize draw to win a jackpot of ₩2,000,000 at the end of the night, so be sure to come along even just for half an hour if you’re feeling lucky!

EVENT: STAY IN THE SHADE WITH SHADES 

Want to enjoy the warmth of the summer without the risk of sunburn? Shades Bar and Pool are throwing a summer party weekend starting Friday, July 13th, 5 PM through to Sunday July 15th, 11 PM! 

All throughout the weekend, alcoholic drinks will be discounted to 90% of the original price and non-alcoholic to 80%. No summer party is complete without garden games and various fruit punches! Despite the obvious health and safety concerns, the glow-in-the-dark indoor bowling tournament is set to be the highlight of the weekend, starting at 8 PM on Saturday.

Stay shaded within Shades’ walls for a outdoor cinema experience on Sunday, 4 PM til 11 PM! Floor lined with artificial grass, projector ready, the bar will be screening cult classics such as Fight Club and is happily accepting requests — just bring along your copy!

EVENT: MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH SANGMYUNG ELEMENTARY CHOIR THIS NEW YEAR

Missed our Christmas Carol Competition winners in action last month? Sangmyung Elementary School in Nowon-gu have just announced a three-night series of concerts on site to raise money and gather donations for local homeless charities. The entry fee is a minimum donation of ₩10,000 and a non-perishable food item — very little to most of us, yet so much to those in need. 

Staff, amused, have reassured us the children will be singing more appropriately timed songs given the festive season has now passed, but fear not! There are plenty of adorable pop hits in their setlist to beat even the cuteness of their rendition of ‘Do You Want To Build A Snowman?’ that shot them to victory! Doors open at 6 PM and the event is expected to last until 8 PM, with time after the concert for visitors to chat with staff and the stars of the show. 

A fourth night is planned for Sunday, January 28th, to finish the series, in which homeless men, women and children in the local area will be given a home-cooked hot meal and concert, as well as a warm place to stay for the night. Invitations have been extended to families of the students only. 

All for a good cause, the events are sure to be an adorable success, so if you have a free evening January 25th, 26th or 27th, be sure to head down, enjoy the music and make a donation to make a difference!
