As we’re sure all of you have noticed, Murder Inc has really found itself in a bit of a rough place. It’s had activity dips before, as all directories surely do, but it’s been struggling to fully recover this time around. That doesn’t mean that anyone has lost hope in it, however! It’s been, and will continue to be, a long lasting roleplay that those remaining here can hopefully call home. However, this has been hard on us admins lately. Because of this, Murder Inc is going to be going on a hiatus for the time being. It’s definitely not the end of the line for this place, though it is going to be taking a break until everything is in better order.

While Murder Inc is momentarily out of commission, us admins are going to be getting settled into new changes that have entered our lives, then we’re going to be working hard on a revamp for this place. As a head’s up, there may even be many changes by the time it is back up and running again. We plan to re-do almost all of the pages, as well as strengthen the plot so that it has more story and helps people to feel like things aren’t forever at a standstill. On top of that, we will be working on extra things that will help the directory thrive, such as planning out big future events and hopefully implementing some sort of points system (or something similar. Anything to push people to be active and participate in events).

We have been receiving the messages that have been sent about possibly considering mods, and just because we are going on hiatus doesn’t mean that’s out of the picture. As a matter of fact, we are thinking about having some join the team, we just want to be apart of running MI and now isn’t a good time for us. We don’t want to have to completely leave and have it ran without us, especially not when we have so many changes that we would like to make.

For those of you still with us, feel free to keep your threads going and continue to plot! Though we won’t be accepting new members or keeping things updated during this time, you don’t have to let your muses die if you don’t want them to. After all, this is not a goodbye. This is just a ‘see you soon’.

[ BACKGROUND... ]

Taeyong grew up not really knowing his father. All he knew of the man who should have raised him was from stories told by his mother and the few vague memories he had managed to make with him before he died. Lee Jaemyong was a respected police officer assigned to the Gangbuk-gu Precinct. His promising career was cut short however when he was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop leaving behind a 2 year old Taeyong and his devastated mother. Taeyong grew up believing his father to be a hero and slowly but surely the desire to follow in his father’s footsteps grew inside him. Against his mother’s judgement Taeyong began to work towards a career with the SPD.

Though he was never really cut out physically to be a police officer he knew he could help in other ways. He studied incredibly hard and he measured his days in cups of coffee and midterm deadlines. His scores were proof enough that he was capable of doing the more analytical parts of investigation. Through years of dedicated study and hard work he achieved his goal and now works for the SPD in the Crime Scene Unit. However, things are rarely as they seem in Seoul and Taeyong may not like the truths he uncovers.

[ BEHAVIOR... ]

Working for the SPD means Taeyong rarely has time for a social life and because of that his circle of friends is very small. When he’s working he comes off as cold, analytical and impersonal, mostly because he becomes so focused it’s like nothing else exists. Outside of work he is a different person. He still doesn’t really get out much due to being incredibly shy around new people. It’s not that he doesn’t like meeting new people but rather because he doesn’t know how to relate to them or speak to them. Those that get past his awkwardness will see a happier lighter side to him but to those he’s unfamiliar with he’s withdrawn and unsure of himself. Despite his work and his standoffish demeanor he is very caring and likable once you break through to him, even if he can be a little naive sometimes.

Hello, lovely! Sorry for the delay; Admin Gyu and I were discussing this and we’re not really sure what to do, honestly! On one hand, I think it might be difficult to orchestrate, since everyone might not have the same platforms to communicate on, but it could certainly be a lot of fun!! So we’d love to hear what our members think, either in the replies to this post, or via our suggestions box if you’d prefer for your message to be anonymous or private! 

On that note, also, we’d love to hear your suggestions for things to improve. With so many new members recently, too, we’d love to hear what you guys would like to see in the future and what you feel would make MI more exciting!
