Listen. I had fun the last time, so i'm gonna leave here another list of my Riordanverse unpopular opinions/hot takes. I hope no one is gonna cancel me:
- Throwing every single female character in the hunters is lazy writing and kinda OOC for Reyna;
- The Cupid scene is disgusting and the fact that it was made by a queer god makes it even worse;
- Jason and Nico's friendship >>> Percy and Jason's friendship. Nico and Jason were more foils than the latter and Percy will ever be;
- Leo and Nico should have been friends, and the fact that Leo was so scarred of him in HoO is wasted potential;
- Today Percy is basically the not-so-unconfirmed most powerful demigod BUT both Nico and Hazel have the potential to being more powerful than him. However, since Percy is based on Rick's own son he refuses to elaborate on it;
- Actually GROVER is Percy's best friend, not Jason, and in HoO Annabeth and Piper had a more "kinda homoerotic bromance" going on than their boyfriends ever had;
- Aside from that, Jason is clearly alive. Trow that ToA scene away;
- Nico killing Bryce Lawrence is both the most terrifying and the best scene in both PJo and HoO;
- It would have been better if Hazel and Frank were friends-crushingoneachother during HoO and started dating in ToA;
- Riordan's amatonormativity wasted the potential of many characters (like Nico and Leo) and the potential of many friendships;
- Caleo is acceptable in HoO but in ToA it fucking sucks;
- Actually it would have been interesting if Calypso discovered herself as a lesbian during ToA OR in a possible Leo's standalone novel;
- In terms of capabilities, storylines and roles in the plot Percy, Annabeth, Nico, Hazel and Reyna are Riordan's most badass characters. Others (mostly Thalia, Jason and Piper) have the potential but are underdeveloped;
- And that in my opinion is HoO biggest problem: the series has many new interesting characters (Hazel, Leo, Reyna, Jason) but they are underdeveloped in favor of 1) romance and 2) Percabeth being in the major spotlight;
- I have mixed feeling about Percy and Annabeth being part of the Seven;
- Fierrochase >>>>> Solangelo;
- Tsats is utter dogshit and it is REALLY hard to consider it canon;
- Canon Solangelo is ableist and the fact that a big part of the fandom has no problem with it is kinda disturbing. Also some fanon solangelo contents are ableist as well and it is partly RR's fault;
- The fandom basically wrote and characterized Will Solace's character. Neither Riordan or Mark Oshiro give a fuck about him, and problably that's NOT gonna improve in the Tsats sequel;
- Accusing people who don't like solangelo and/or Tsats of homophobia is like the dumbest take ever;
- RR's representation characters are a concentration of stereotypes;
- It would have been better if Piper had her self-discovering - queer storyline from the beginning of HoO. It would have made her more interesting and relatable;
- Even more, it would have been more interesting if Piper had her queer-reveal storyline in HoO THANKS to her not-so-straight chemistry with Annabeth;
- Making Nico a overly morally correct/morally "pure" character makes him less interesting;
- CJ >>> CHB;
- Nico should be a rough demigod;
- It is heavily implied that the majority of CHB STILL doesn't like Nico and they only "tolerate" him because they like Will;
- Bisexual Jason is better and makes more sense than bisexual Percy. Jason's arc is basically a metaphor of bisexuality;
- It makes me sad how RR basically throw away every other Nico's beautiful relationships (with Jason, Reyna, Hazel, even Percy..) in favor of solangelo. Nico WAS a complex and developed character, now he's kinda just "the gay one";
- With his latest works RR is ruining his own franchise;
- PJo>>>>>>MG>>>ToA>>HoO;

Hi Jenn! So Rick Riordan of the Percy Jackson series said he was writing the new Percy Jackson books (where Percy is in his senior year) as MG. He said he knows that's weird, given Percy's age, but he felt like his voice is more MG. The thing is... I don't really know if it DOES feel too MG for YA? It's light and quippy, but there's nothing about it that makes me go "Yeah, this isn't YA." What am I missing?
Percy Jackson (and all the RR series) are published and shelved as Middle Grade Series because they ARE. Like, I don't know what to tell ya -- same reason Harry Potter books are all filed in Middle Grade Series or Kids Series or Children's Fantasy Series or whatever, even though the later books are clearly about teenagers and "technically" YA books. Sometimes series span across age groups -- and they still are all shelved together.
The largest audience for RR books is probably 8 to 12 year olds (even the ones that are technically YA). But plenty of teenagers read all of them, too -- they started as 8-12 year olds and keep reading them.
(Wanna feel old? Kids that read the first Percy Jackson books when they came out and grew up with the books are now old enough to read them to THEIR kids. And they do.)
What I'm saying is, if you have a ginormous internationally bestselling franchise spanning decades with an all-ages audience, regular "rules" probably don't apply. Don't worry about what Rick's doing, you ain't Rick.

Coinfections and pulmonary embolism in a patient with onset of Leukemia concomitantly with COVID19- Case report by Evgenia Papakonstantinou in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences
Abstract
The pandemic of COVID19 is ongoing, with the treatment of neoplastic diseases to be challenging. Patients with acute leukemia are vulnerable to many pathogens due to impaired immunity coming from their disease and simultaneous chemotherapy. Although the COVID19 disease evolves milder in children, concomitant treatment for leukemia may be fatal. We present a girl with COVID19 and Escherichia Hermannii infection at diagnosis for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This child suffered bilateral pulmonary embolism after initiation of treatment. We discuss the therapeutic challenges about the initiation of chemotherapy in the context of coinfections as well as the role of COVID19 and other predisposing factors to pulmonary embolism. We found that the slight delay in the antineoplastic treatment contributed to the remission of the acute infection and did not negatively impact the initial response to the leukemia treatment. Nevertheless, the resumption of the oncological treatment should remain among our priorities.
Keywords
Acute leukemia, COVID19, Escherichia Hermannii, pulmonary embolism
Introduction
Given the immunodeficiency due to their disease and chemotherapy, patients with cancer are vulnerable to infections and COVID19 infection is really threatening. We describe a successful management of a girl diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and COVID19 infection concomitantly with Escherichia Hermannii sepsis. The initiation of chemotherapy was slightly postponed, due to the danger of these severe infections until blood cultures were negative for E. Hermanii. Pulmonary thrombosis was added, as COVID-19 infection predisposes for developing cardiovascular complications, while our patient was under existing predisposing factors for thrombophilia, but with appropriate management had successful outcome.
Case History
A three-year-old girl who presented with a four-day fever, rhinitis, and cough, found positive for COVID19 infection without mutation, as all her family members. She had anemia (Hb: 2.9 g/dL), neutropenia (N: 371/μL), thrombopenia (PLT: 24 K/μL) while tachypnea (RR=31/min), tachycardia (HR=146/min), fever 38.6°C, air oxygen saturation 97%, were found on examination. Empirical antimicrobial treatment with Tazobactam-Piperacillin, Amikacin, Teicoplanin, and Micafungin were given for febrile neutropenia, transfusions (blood, platelets) for myelosuppression, Remdesivir (5 mg/kg) for COVID19. Blood culture yielded Escherichia Hermannii sensitive to receiving antibiotics, but therapy was upscaled to Meropenem due to elevated CRP (109mg/l) and persistent fever 40.6°C. The antibiotic treatment lasting 14-days ceased after two negative cultures. Baseline chest computed tomography (CT) scan showed small cloudy glass spots, areas of pulmonary thickening, atelectasis. Bone marrow aspiration, with 61% blasts, set the diagnosis of pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) hyperdiploid, Central Nervous System (CNS) negative. Abdominal ultrasound showed hepatomegaly and splenomegaly. Examinations for thrombophilia revealed heterozygosity for factor V Leiden. Chemotherapy started while positive for COVID according to ALLIC 2009 protocol, standard risk arm, 15 days post diagnosis. Remained in COVID clinic until two negative PCR tests. The ALL re-examination showed good prednisolone response on Day 8, complete remission on Days 15, 33. On Day 40 from the initiation of chemotherapy, she had tachypnea with a value of D-dimer elevated at 2.145 ng/mL. Chest CT revealed subsegmental pulmonary embolism on both lower lobes of the lungs. She had not high oxygen requirements, hemodynamic instability requiring intubation, and was treated with low molecular weight heparin for 3 months. She continued chemotherapy without delays, with regular weekly tests for COVID19 and without reactivations, despite the use of corticosteroids and immunosuppressive therapy.
Discussion
The management of children with haematological malignancies and Sars-Cov 2 infection remains challenging since limited data about the impact of COVID 19 in these children are available. Main goal is to optimize the oncological treatment and avoid severe Sars-Cov2 infection due to immunosuppressive therapy. The Escherichia Hermanni bacteremia1 at diagnosis increased the risk of severe complications and led to slight delay of the chemotherapy initiation. The risk of virus transmission to the immunocompromised children in our department required a structured protocol regarding nursing care and isolation techniques. According to American Society of Hematology guidelines2, (January 2021), treatment for ALL patients is individualized, especially during the induction period. Reducing chemotherapy doses is not recommended since it may alter the expected therapeutic effect on ALL, while the severity of COVID19 does not seem to be affected. According to SFCE3 (French Society Committee for fight children and adolescents' Cancers), the main threat to children with ALL remains the ALL itself, even if life-threatening infections are emerging. We slightly delayed the chemotherapy initiation and prioritized treating the viral and bacterial infection since the type of leukemia of our patient was neither potentially life-threatening nor high risk (WBC<20.000, no HR cytogenetic findings, no CNS involvement). Our concern was that the co infections could be deteriorated if we had started induction chemotherapy and corticosteroids. The limited data available suggest a significant heterogeneity regarding the time till the first negative COVID19 PCR test in oncology patients (from four to 94 days). Bisogno et al. reported 19 patients with a mean time to negative PCR of 22 days and eight patients with 19 days4. Our patient demonstrated negative PCR testing for Sars-Cov2 on the 40th day of chemotherapy. As there is no standard therapy established for paediatric oncology patients with COVID19 yet, many centers follow the treatment strategy as in adults. Bisogno et al. treated nine out of 29 oncological patients suffering from COVID19 with Ritonavir, Hydroxychloroquine, and immune plasma. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) reported their experience with the plasma administration to critically ill children5. Remdesivir is RNA polymerase inhibitor recommended in children with severe Sars-Cov2 infection and underlying medical conditions, especially in the early course of illness. According to a recent meta-analysis remdesivir has the most promising evidence that improves the time to recovery6. In our patient the seven-day lasting antiviral therapy was well tolerated, without any pathological findings. The reported cases of venous thromboembolism may be related to the systemic inflammatory response or a state of hypercoagulability8. Our patient had multiple coexisting risk factors predisposing for thrombophilia, such as administration of Asparaginase, use of a central venous catheter (Hickman), and heterozygous status for the factor V Leiden. In patients with ALL and COVID19, prophylactic administration of anticoagulants may have an impact, but there are not yet standardize recommendations. We need to maintain a high index of suspicion for pulmonary embolism in patients with COVID19 and leukemia and to measure D-dimers regularly. There is need for guidelines for prophylaxis with low molecular weight heparin for pulmonary embolism in patients with COVID-19 and existing risk factors for thromboembolism. The patient was treated successfully with three- month administration of low molecular weight heparin. She continued chemotherapy without delays, with regular weekly tests for COVID19 as some authors have reported reactivations, without reactivations, despite the use of corticosteroids and immunosuppressive therapy.

five comfort characters five tags
Tagged by @lipstickmata <3 <3 <3.
Not 100% sure what comfort characters are, but I'll just take a crack at it assuming it means "I was or am extremely fixated on them and/or I just think they're neat." Trying to avoid massive spoilers, but there may be some minor ones despite my efforts...
Nero tol Scaeva (Final Fantasy XIV) I am pretty sure my first comment upon seeing Nero in RR was "Who is this loser? Looks like a worthless midboss that won't even make it to the end of the game," and boy was I wrong (about making it -- 100% he's a loser and worthless midboss). Now, 4 expacs later, he's my forever baby girl thanks to his incredible arrogance, sassy mouth, and "uncomfortably in love with Cid while also being divorced from Cid"-ness...
Revolver Ocelot (Metal Gear Solid) Ocelot is the OG "war criminal loser who is completely amoral outside of being wholly devoted to a single person, for whom he'd give up everything" so I obviously love him for the same reasons I love Nero. Every time Ocelot shows up in an MGS game, it brightens my day even as it makes the day of everyone around him worse <3. Meow.
Akemi Homura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) Hmm...looks like we're just on the "loser who will burn down the whole world to save the one person she loves" train, but it's a good train and I like it here! I wasn't a fan of the movie's take, but Homura's characterization (and magical girl powers) in the original show is simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking. Is it too much to ask that Homura be happy forever? No, I think it's not.
Sam Vimes (Discworld) I started with the Rincewind books, and while I do love them (and the academia references have only become more real to me over the years), imo the Nightwatch books are the heart of Discworld (yes, even more than the Death books, yes, I know this is contentious). Vimes is such a wonderful combination of rage, cynicism, kindness, and an unwavering adherence to justice.
Trico (Last Guardian) It's probably more fair to say all of the Team ICO games are comfort games, but a special shout out to Trico, who is the cutest kitty-bird-monster of all time despite eating those naughty, forbidden Trico Treats. I definitely had to lie down for a long time after finishing Last Guardian, and I was already emotionally prepared for having to lie down after finishing any Team ICO game ^o^;;
Not sure who wants to be tagged, so tagging @illuminesce, @songofkeys, @thistleburr, @penquinlori, and @poor-punctuation but feel free to ignore if you don't wanna play!

played some cursed skyrim with the bestie @vendettapandav . and by cursed, i mean i created a wish(tm) version of god of war by creating freya as my pc, and downloading a kratos follower mod.
i already had the outfit for freya bc i use it for other pcs. but i had to download an extra hair mod (that i'll be keeping bc it offers various other styles). here they are:
Tumblr media
but yeah, then we abandoned the main quest, married said kratos follower. then banished him to the upper corners of solstheim for his sins (having an uncanny model & having the default breton male voice)
and yes. the drunken huntsman is his actual home. like. he sleeps in the storage room.
Tumblr media
i also learned in this experience that the voice actor for mimir voices unnamed skyrim npcs. and senator fucking armstrong from mgs: rr. to which i proceeded to actually laugh so hard i now have the world's worst tummy ache and feel like i'm dying for real—

Recently read: If you were paying attention last week, you already know my Thoughts about The Sun and The Star, but if you somehow missed my screaming into the tumblr void, here’s your recap!
I didn’t really have any expectations for TSATS, mostly because I’ve settled into the “these aren’t for me but I can have fun with them” phase with Riordan books. But I was looking forward to it because Nico’s a longtime favorite character and... wow. It was bad. Like shockingly so. I don’t know how much of the quality issues came from co-writing, but I’m mostly going to blame RR for it being a hot mess since this is his universe and he has the final say on quality control...which we know has been an issue for a while anyway!
Somehow, this book managed to fit in every annoying trend of current MG/YA books — endless, useless snark; therapy speak; unnatural twitter dialogue about social issues; absolutely tensionless romance. There were hints of a good book here and there, but every shining moment would get squashed out by a goddamn meme reference or the narrative hitting you over and over with light/darkness metaphors. Anyway, glad I pirated it, you absolutely did not deserve my money for this one, Richard. (★★)
In the “books I should be reading because I’M AN ADULT” category, Not The Witch You Wed by April Asher was another disappointingly meh contemporary paranormal romance. There were parts where the narrator’s voice and the story would grab me, but once again, I’d immediately be thrown out by badly placed snarked and weird pop culture references. (How are Supernatural or Buffy still THINGS when paranormal creatures have been “out” to the world for decades???) The romance could’ve been better too. I’ll maybe try the second book, just to see if the above kinks have been worked out (ha yeah right), but it’ll probably be a bit. (★★.5)
And finally, volume three of Lore of Olympus was cute and continues to be one of the few modern day Greek myth adaptations that aren’t actively disappointing me. I probably should try a few more graphic novels out to compare. (★★★★)

Background We have previously demonstrated that ivermectin used as prophylaxis for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), irrespective of the regularity, in a strictly controlled citywide program in Southern Brazil (Itajaí, Brazil), was associated with reductions in COVID-19 infection, hospitalization, and mortality rates. In this study, our objective was to determine if the regular use of ivermectin impacted the level of protection from COVID-19 and related outcomes, reinforcing the efficacy of ivermectin through the demonstration of a dose-response effect. Methods This exploratory analysis of a prospective observational study involved a program that used ivermectin at a dose of 0.2 mg/kg/day for two consecutive days, every 15 days, for 150 days. Regularity definitions were as follows: regular users had 180 mg or more of ivermectin and irregular users had up to 60 mg, in total, throughout the program. Comparisons were made between non-users (subjects who did not use ivermectin), and regular and irregular users after multivariate adjustments. The full city database was used to calculate and compare COVID-19 infection and the risk of dying from COVID-19. The COVID-19 database was u

The pages in this category are redirects from names that are unsuitable for inclusion in a printed version of Wikipedia. To add a redirect to this category, place {{Rcat shell|{{R unprintworthy}}}} on the second new line (skip a line) after #REDIRECT [[Target page name]]. For more information follow the links. Never substitute redirect template(s), nor place them on soft redirects.

This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories.
This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. They are not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme.
This category is hidden on its member pages—unless the corresponding user preference (appearance → show hidden categories) is set.
These categories can be used to track, build and organize lists of pages needing "attention en masse" (for example, pages using deprecated syntax), or that may need to be edited at someone's earliest convenience.
These categories also serve to aggregate members of several lists or sub-categories into a larger, more efficient list (discriminated by classifications).
"Unprintworthy" redirects are redirect pages on Wikipedia that aid online navigation, but would have little or no value as pointers to target articles in a hard-copy book. The name of a redirect may be unprintworthy for a number of reasons, including being nearly identical to the name of the target page, containing typographical errors, or not being encyclopaedic. Redirects are not unprintworthy just because the name may be offensive to some, unless the name is also not encyclopaedic.
