Poll 4 - London Underground
So, I've worked out a plan - I'll do political polls every other day, with some light topics to balance it out
Today: The famous London Underground. It's more influential than you think. Even its map has inspired the designs of many other city transit maps.
As for the other polls:
American Politics - Joe Biden victory
Social Media - Discord, Instagram, Reddit tied
British Politics - Labour ahead
Follow me to receive more polls and reblog to increase turnout!

Day 2234, 4 August 2024
The Chess Valley
On this day I took a walk between two London Underground stations, Rickmansworth and Chesham, on the Metropolitan Line through the Chess Valley. Does the fact that the London Underground railway system comes out to the Chess Valley make this countryside part of London? I suspect technically this is Buckinghamshire but whatever it is always nice to see some green when you live in the city and your garden consists of a few pot plants.

Life without the London Underground.
Tumblr media
Life without the London Underground would have a significant impact on the daily routines and transportation system in London. The Underground is one of the busiest transportation systems in the world and is used by millions of people every day to travel to work, school, and other destinations.
Without the Underground, commuters would have to rely on other modes of transportation such as buses, taxis, or bicycles. This would likely result in increased traffic congestion, longer travel times, and more pollution. It would also require significant investment in new transportation infrastructure to accommodate the increased demand.
The lack of the Underground would also impact London's economy, as many businesses rely on the easy access provided by the Tube to attract customers and employees. Without the Underground, some businesses might struggle to attract customers, and employees might face longer commutes or higher transportation costs.
Finally, the cultural and social impact of the Underground cannot be overstated. The Tube is not only a transportation system, but also a cultural icon that has been featured in literature, music, and film. It is a symbol of London and its people, and its absence would undoubtedly be felt by both locals and tourists alike.
In conclusion, life without the London Underground would be challenging and would require significant changes to London's transportation and infrastructure systems. It is difficult to imagine London without the Tube, as it has become an integral part of the city's identity and culture.

Waiting through the night on line for tickets isn't a pastime limited to sports fans. Opera lovers do it regularly. With ticket prices out of the reach of many fans, standing room is the only way they can see live performances. Here, Rudolf Bing, general manager of the Metropolitan Opera, turns humanitarian and hands out complementary coffee to the stalwarts, November 14, 1955.

Op turned off reblogs but I wanted to point and laugh at Shanghai going to the other extreme. There's probably some parallels between the Shanghai urban areas versus the suburban districts: "I say I'm from Shanghai but actually I'm from Jinshan and rarely went into the city"

We are trying to write things to demonstrate an ink sample but we have been unfortunately struck by the fact that the pen we had empty (and thus the pen we filled with it) was the one that is bad to write with and it's very hard to write in a fancy way when the pen you are working with randomly decides it won't write.

Part 13 in shipping different railway companies together.
C2C is alone. She does not want to be alone but that point gets misunderstood by the other folk. C2C is asexual but romantic and still wants to find that special someone but she generally doesn't get out there that much and doesn't really know anyone.
She has been acquainted to her neighbours, Greater Anglia whom she sees as obnoxious and slow, Elizabeth Line whom she doesn't know very well and London Overground, whom she is probably closest but if you think she desires a relationship with her, you are Barking up the wrong tree.
C2C probably was best understood by the Metropolitan District Railway, who is long since gone.

First of all, I got the motivation to start this account because of this year’s Met Gala. The full title of The MET’s spring 2023 exhibition theme is '𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐝: 𝐀 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐲'.
At first I was doing a project for my other account. As I do more research about the work he made, I just realized how much I was inspired by his work. So my first few posts will be about the Met ball this year. I did the research about many looks, so please bear with me.
I know 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐝 because of my goddess 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐧. I didn’t know much about fashion when I was a teenager, but when I saw this ad, I was immediately drawn to it.
This backless gown is timeless. And I want to share the behind-the-scene photo of this look. Karl wanted to make everything as he imagined, so you can see him adjusting the outfit himself. I also added the picture of the time when Karl walked to Nicole at the end of a CHANEL show and kissed her. I think it was then when Nicole was announced as the ambassador of CHANEL N°5. Then of course the rest is history.
The iconic commercial directed by 𝐁𝐚𝐳 𝐋𝐮𝐡𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐧 is the best commercial I’ve seen. (I heard the budget also made a record high. But it’s really worth it. I believe many people still remember vividly the first time we saw the “film.” ) She really is breathtaking.
I often imagine myself standing at the stairs and looking back as Nicole did in the commercial when I was a child. 🤣😂 So here are my stories about this look. What about yours?
