That front looks absurd.
I know they were desperate to get the Amtrak logo on there somewhere, but this is NOT the way.
Anyway, I love it.

Could we please take a moment to appreciate the old amtrak posters
The metroliner has to be the best one in my opinion, they're all great though!
I also like the Florida, East and Southwest Chief Posters

Misty Morning at Christiana, PA.
It was a retro 1970s moment at Christiana, Pennsylvania, when I made these coming and going views of Amtrak Keystone train 648. The Conrail caboose to the right of the train is former Erie Lackawanna that was painted in an usual variation of COnrail blue at Erie’s Meadville, Pennsyvlania shops in 1976. The cab car is one of the former PRR/Penn Central self-propelled Metroliner cars developed by…

Day 18: Budd Metroliner
Info from Wikipedia:
The Budd Metroliner was a class of American electric multiple unit (EMU) railcar designed for first-class, high-speed service between New York City and Washington, D.C. on the Northeast Corridor. They were designed for operation up to 150 mph (240 km/h): what would have been the first high speed rail service in the Western Hemisphere. Although 164 mph (264 km/h) was reached during test runs, track conditions and electrical issues limited top speeds to between 100 mph (160 km/h) and 120 mph (190 km/h) in revenue service. The single-ended units were designed to be arranged in two-car sets, which were in turn coupled into four to eight-car trains.
The Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) ordered 61 Metroliner cars from the Budd Company in 1966 as part of a collaboration with the federal government to improve railroad service between New York, Philadelphia, and Washington. After difficulties testing the cars, PRR successor Penn Central began its eponymous Metroliner service on January 16, 1969. Amtrak took over the service in 1971. Despite high aspirations, the Metroliner cars proved to have poor reliability, with less than two-thirds of the fleet in service at many times. Four cars were successfully overhauled for improved operation in 1974, but the rebuilding cost more than the original purchase price of the cars. Thirty-three more cars were overhauled in 1979–1980. However, by this time, new AEM-7 locomotives pulling Amfleet cars could match Metroliner schedules with higher reliability. Metroliners were withdrawn from Metroliner service entirely in 1981; they served until 1988 on Keystone Service trains.
Despite their electrical flaws, the Metroliners proved mechanically sound. Amtrak ordered over 600 non-powered Amfleet cars, based on the Metroliner design and also manufactured by Budd, in the mid-1970s. Beginning in 1987, Amtrak converted 23 former Metroliners for use as cab control cars on corridor trains. Fourteen more cars were used with minimal modifications: six as cab cars and eight as trailer coaches. Most former Metroliners were scrapped between 2003 and 2011. However, some cab cars remain in use on Keystone Service and Shuttle trains. Three former Metroliners have also been converted to technology testing or track measurement cars, and one more is used by Amtrak as a special-purpose business car. One original Metroliner is preserved at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

I leik trainz :3
Also here are more
All of these (Except the K4) are Electric (although the K4 is running underwire) these all use either AC overhead power or DC third rail (and in the Case of several are Capable of switching between the Two)
Actually no wait the Illinois Central multiple units use 1500V DC overhead power not 12kV 25Hz AC like Pennsy and New Haven did

I somehow overlooked that Metroliner units were operating as recently as 2006.
I always just sort of thought of them in the past tense.
I like them, it's odd to me seeing what look like Amfleets with pantographs and no locomotive, but I dig it! :D

blue lock random headcanons_1
including: rin, shidou, nagi, bachira, sae, otoya, karasu
Rin is the kind of guy who' favourite pocky is still the strawberry one, but would never admit it. If he can choose, he always goes for the dark chocolate ones because he simply would cringe from the strawberry. And it also reminds him of Sae, for they always shared one pack of strawberry pockys after winter trainings (when there was no icecream).
Shidou is the kind of guy who randomly chooses a metroline in Tokyo (there are pretty much of them) and travels across the city in the middle of the night. Sometimes he listens to music with earphones, and sometimes he just stares out of his head, thinking.
Nagi is the kind of guy who would be admired by all the cats he ever meets. Nobody knows why, he just drawns them like a magnet. He's actually pretty good with animals, although looking after one would still be mendokusai to him.
Bachira is the kind of guy who loves to sing and actually has a good singing voice. Lullaby, anime opening, old rock what his mother listens to sometimes - it doesn't matter for him until it has a tune. He loves to sing under the shower too, which is strange to the others at first, but as time passes they get used to it, even grow to like it and sing along.
Sae is the kind of guy who chose the upper bunk bed in the dorm, cause it was the closest to the window. Tokyo is 7 hours later than Spain, so every time Sae goes to sleep, he watches the same moon that Rin saw already. He hasn't once forgot to think about this.
Otoya is the kind of guy who openly enjoys historical movies with ninjas in it. When he was a child, he even tried to copy those acrobatical movements, which helped a lot in improving his random ball touches.
Karasu is the kind of guy who actually enjoys chemistry. He loves that he is able to understand that witchcraft and that people usually don't see him as someone who's more than just a "dumb soccer player". He enjoys to surprise them with some chemical formulas of food ingredients and stuff like that.

Brian Elstak, 'M54', 2017. It resembles Metroline 54 going to Gein, part of Amsterdam Southeast for lots of people with a migration background live. Elstak took the train, and did interviews, to make portraits of people and put them on this 3D painting.
Taken in the Amsterdam Museum, 2024
