Red Queen Suicide Squad AU

Okay it's been a while since I've read Red Queen so I don't remember alot that happened in the books

The only thing that really stuck with me was Maven's narrative of the cycle of abuse and neglect and a tragic character being doomed from the start

but that's another story

uh so I just want to see what's working or not so little poll

For context the Suicide Squad Au takes place within the Red Queen Universe, after the events of War Storm, the only difference being that Maven lives

I had two ideas for fanfics as soon as I get an AO3 account

a Red Queen Suicide Squad Au, where Maven survives War Storm, unbeknownst to everyone save the Montfort government who take possession of his body, stick him in a Montfort jail, denying Norta (soon to be the Nortan States) the ability to decide his fate as repercussion for House Calore betraying them during the war, and make Maven apart of a covert kill squad who he finds a new family (and a tall, buff, brooding boyfriend) among, and goes on a healing journey

2. Red Queen Scream/Ghostface Au

you guys think Cal knew about Thomas?

because could you imagine just sometime after Maven's death, someone for whatever reason just mentions Thomas and what he was to Maven, and Cal has to deal with the knowledge was had someone who loved him, really loved him, and who he loved in return, and who he had to grieve alone, and the pain he felt for that boy's death was so terrible that he willingly subjected himself to mental abuse at the hands of his mother.

(I don't know what Thomas actually did at the front, Victoria said he was a worker, so I'm assuming medic)

Dude, I NEED to know your opinion on the scene in War Storm where Maven is captured and in Montfort, and is about to be interrogated and tortured by Tyton. Like. His entire reaction is just so heartbreaking and it lives in my head rent free every day. I mean, who else could have hurt him in that way but his mother?? And then the line, “I try not to think of Maven. His words. What his life was and continues to be.”

And he still loved her and was BURIED NEXT TO HER ??? Ugh. I can’t. My goodness this character is so deliciously tragic and I just want to give him the biggest hug and also the biggest slap in the face 💀

no because the scene where maven is captured MAKES ME INSANE.

the way he literally just starts acting ballistic is wild to me. I mean talking to himself (which clearly looks like he's talking to elara EVEN THOUGH SHES DEAD) the manic smiling??? HELLO

and yes the interrogation scene was so sad

"You think I haven't done it a thousand times?" Makes me wonder what he says to himself. What lies to tells himself. What lies and truths does he mix up. Does he even know his own lies and truths?? It's like he's completely losing his sense of self.

and him wanting to be buried next to his mother is disgusting and beautiful all at once.

that woman was vile and cruel to him, but she was still his mother. and he loved her regardless. because in a way, I can imagine the lies she fed him as a child and how they became his truths.
