King Allant led Boletaria with a round table of brave knights. The royal Twin Fangs, Vallarfax and Biorr, Alfred, the knight of the tower, Metas, the knight of the lance, and the brave tribesman, Long Bow Oolan and his fearsome legions.

But today, Boletaria is an abysmal mess. Vallarfax was lost and Biorr slipped through the fissure, never to be heard from again. All the rest, along with Boletaria, have been devoured by the fog, and will soon be prey for the Demons.

The Boletarian knights are no longer.

Family HCs are already fun on their own but with transness added on they're even better. It's actual comedy gold. Also I've always wanted to draw some kind of Meta Knight VS Galacta Knight type thing, but I can't take anything seriously like that. So you get This.

What This is, is a way too high effort shitpost. It took a combined 2 and a half? Days, though most of it was just sketching. I'm proud of it! Anything for the bit.

You know how in Kirby and the Forgotten Land Kirby can gain Meta Knight Sword without having the blueprint by literally disarming Meta Knight and taking his sword? And how Meta Knight can continue to use his magic —various sword beams, geokinesis (although unlike in Star Allies he's using tornadoes to lift the boulders. Did he recreate his Jamba Heart abilities through sheer spite?!)— with his old sword as if it's just a conduit for him and his magic is innate? Even though Kirby loses his ability when he loses his weapon.

I wonder what would happen if Kirby got a hold of Galacta Knight's lance. I think it would feel like combining several Copy Abilities at once. Jabbing like Spear, making energy beams like Sword, casting lightning like Spark, making twisters like Tornado, hovering and making it rain projectiles like Cupid, etc.

Would it be too much for him to handle? He has combined abilities before, but that was only two at a time and (possibly) with the help of Ribbon. Would it be like a Super Ability where he can handle it temporarily but has to let go because of the strain? Would he gain Galacta Knight's dimensional abilities? Is Galacta Knight's lance special like Galaxia or is it just a conduit for his innate abilities?

Questions, questions.

As mentioned in a previous post I reblogged, Meta Knight is most likely a ronin, or a warrior without a master.  In the Incarnations AU, this is mostly true, as he technically isn’t sworn to King Dedede as a master, but does support and assists the king in most of his endeavors.

Relatedly, the crew of the Halberd, especially the Commanders, are not really his employees or subordinates, but more like followers.  The ones who take care of the ship are paid well, and treated more as employees, but all showed some combat aptitude and are at least invested in Meta Knight’s causes.

However, his Meta-Knights?  The ones in charge?  They’re his found family.  They’ve sworn loyalty to Meta Knight, both willing to kill and die for him, although he’d never ask that of them.  They’ve trained together, fought together, and protect Popstar together as a unit.  Meta has lived a very lonely life until he found love with Dedede and Popstar, but his Knights are his closest friends, aside from the King himself.

Likewise, it’s only fitting that I draw them properly!  And give them a bit of backstory, but that’ll be its own post (spoiler alert, Meta has managed to surround himself with some of the most profoundly traumatized folks on Popstar, and by Void, they’re gonna bond together over it.  Who needs therapy?)

LORE UNDER THE CUT!!!!

A few more notes about them as a group:

There is a betting pool between the six of them as to the real nature of Meta Knight and King Dedede’s relationship.  Are the blood brothers?  Friends?  Lovers?  Rivals?  They all have their own theories and are keeping an eye out for definitive proof one way or the other.

They all take turns with the group braincell, although Lance Knight, Trident Knight, and Sailor Dee have it most often.  But each of them has moments of brilliance and clownery.

Now then, let’s get into some specifics, in order of when they joined the Meta-Knights!

Captain Vul: Besides Meta Knight himself, Captain Vul is the oldest of the Meta-Knights, and is the Halberd’s primary piolet and navigations officer.  He was a former fighter piolet, a highly skilled one at that, before he was discharged from his group for reasons he doesn’t wish to discuss.  He’s grumpy most of the time, and a coward on occasion, but he holds a great amount of respect, appreciation, and enthusiasm for the group, often taking a bit of a mentor or fatherly role to the others.  He usually stays out of the fights but is capable of defending himself with whatever weapons are available, although he has a proficiency with firearms.  He has the most experience out of all of the Meta-Knights in actual military style combat and is the best at managing all of the conflicting personalities and talents into one cohesive unit.

Trident Knight: The last member of a clan of monster hunters, Trident Knight is a beaten and wounded warrior.  He is, to this day, the one citizen of Popstar to have ever disarmed Meta Knight in a duel.  Trident Knight is the most serious of the Meta-Knights, his training making him perceptive and outwardly unexpressive.  He is extremely intelligent in terms of environment and survival, as well extremely organized and able to compartmentalize information quickly under pressure.  He doesn’t speak often and is much less bombastic than Mace or Axe Knight.  He still feels phantom pains on his face around his scars, but he doesn’t like talking about it to anyone.  He’s private, reserved, and doesn’t like touch all that much.  He’s quick to call the others foolish, but also quick to rush to the defense of his new clan, especially Lance Knight.  He maintains a quiet, but tender relationship with the robotic knight.

Mace Knight: A former unwilling gladiator, Mace Knight is both the largest and kindest of the Meta-Knights.  He is a gentle giant at heart, with a love of music and flowers, and an openly expressive love for his comrades.  Yet, despite this, he remains the only man on Popstar to have ever knocked Meta Knight down.  His simple language and open nature might have him appear dim or unintelligent, but do not let that fool you.  He is a surprisingly excellent tactician and has a knack for coming up with tricks and winning strategies on his feet.  He’s incredibly strong, able to lift up any of the other knights, including the clunky metal Lance Knight and the hefty and brick wall Axe Knight.  He’s often the one who tries to nurse the other’s injuries after a fight and is most quick to forgive.  He is very openly affectionate to his love, Axe Knight, often following him in whatever shenanigans the smaller knight insists on.

Axe Knight: Once just a petty criminal, Axe Knight is considered to be the heart of the Meta-Knights.  He’s the smallest, besides Sailor Dee, but he’s built like a brick wall, and remains the only person on Popstar Meta Knight can’t knock down.  He’s the most chaotic of the group, with a love of tricks and pranks, all in good fun, of course.  As the most emotionally intelligent of the group, he’s quick to pick up on when one of the group needs loosening up, and exactly how to achieve that.  On the other side of that, he’s the first to notice when one of them is in desperate need of comfort or reassurance.  They all have their demons, with different needs to handle them, and Axe Knight knows all of their routines forwards and backwards.  He’s quite sensitive himself, quick to cry, and doesn’t deal with being yelled at very well.  He loves the family he’s found himself, as that’s all he’s really wanted for his life, to be surrounded by friends he could call his family.  He also managed to get a gentle giant of a boyfriend out of the arrangement, and he often likes to shower Mace Knight in affection and gifts.

Lance Knight: What was once a promising development in the field of robotics, Lance Knight was a prototype of an autonomous defensive droid meant to take down dangerous criminals without risking lives of living beings.  He remains the only one on Popstar who has managed to get the drop on and surprise Meta Knight.  He lived for several years in a junk yard after being harvested for scrap, but managed to repair himself with what he could find.  He can’t walk more than a few feet on his legs, so he’s attached hover jets to himself, giving him a great amount of agility in the air.  He cannot speak, only able to produce small beeps and clicks to communicate, but the other knights have been around him long enough to understand his unique language.  He tries his best to be a moderate voice of reason amongst them all, and very rarely engages in the shenanigans the others might get up to.  He is the ship’s inventor and engineer, as he is extremely tech-savvy and emphasizes precision above all.  While he doesn’t grasp organic emotions very well, he knows his new prime directive is to protect his unit, and he understands that enough to know what love is, the love he feels for his comrades and for Trident Knight.

Sailor Dee: The youngest of the Meta-Knights, Sailor Dee, or just Saddie, is a hopeful young Waddle Dee who greatly admired the knights while growing up.  He managed to impress both the crew and Meta Knight himself with his extensive knowledge of logistics, operations, and ability to spot flaws and gaps in the rest of the group’s knowledge.  He was brought on as an apprentice to Captain Vul, who has taken an almost fatherly role to him.  He’s very kind, if a bit nerdy and naïve.  He’s determined to live up to his mentors, often nervously delivering his reports, but he’s opening up gradually.  He often plays along with Kirby’s games, and is often the one who can get Kirby to do the responsible things while they lived abord the Halberd.

I'm so mad

I had a dream about some kinda-epic anime movie and I guess it had crossovers and groups with x color association (like how idols have x image color? but not specifically limited to only idol characters)

and in this movie, otoya was part of it, and, at the very end of it during a climatic battle scene, as part of the red color associated squad, Lance joined up too, and both of them got to meet

the image was so clear and colorful and bright in my mind and i could have sworn i'd see gif and image set posts on tumblr if i didnt realize it was fake upon waking up.

also the squealing/screaming in me could NOT be contained when they both interacted. i was squealing and kicking and trying to hide my face while also cheering. all of the feelings at once. like. they just had THE CUTEST SCENE TALKING TOGETHER AND WERE BOTH SO CUTE IN THEIR ANIMATIONS HHHHHH

there were also other characters that joined up in each color-associated, at least 5 diff color squads (note: they were not called that in the movie/dream, but idk what else to call it) and 5 "original" characters for the movie (ie not from other media like otoya and lance are) and at least 4-5 characters per squad during the final showdown. and during a scene when they'd show the ones who made up each squad in like one of those dynamic flash group poses, silver also got the tiniest of cameos, but that was also probably my brain/consciousness coming alert and injecting him at the association of "red" and "son" lol.

''One of the Heroes of Yore, always willing to put his life at risk for the sake of others, just like any other hero, with scars across his body that prove that he has potential to become an excellent warrior in the utmost future, along with the ones he adores deeply. Will he be able to finish the job?''

This is Dedede's ancestor/grandfather! One of the Heroes of Yore like I said, and a wonderful little guy that loves battling and more! He is also tatooed to hell and back! Also, true creator of Dedede's symbol, and a lover of heat and the sun.

Here they are other things about him!

He obviously needs a good, formal outfit for being a Hero of Yore, because his warrior clothes along with the train conductor clothing, so he has a pretty well taken care of cloak, even though he doesn't like it that much since he finds it itchy.

His weapon is an axe! Meant to be similar to Dedede's hammer! Just... Y'know, sharper. It weights a TON! Even more than Dedede's own weapon, and he'll swing it without mercy.

He's also owner of a pretty nice ability, the ability of making use of elemental abilities! Like, breating fire, releasing thunder from his fists, and releasing cold winds by snapping his fingers.

Also, he's taller than Dedede.

Trivia:

He's inspired by the story of Night on the Galactic Railroad like Dedede and Meta Knight, which is why one of his occupations and hobbies are trains and machinery, which is also why he owns a train, being inspired by both Campanella and Zanelli.

Like I said previously, he's a train conductor, so he has his own train and uses it quite frequently, although, his other job is the one of being a blacksmith, being himself the one who made his own axe, and also Galacta's lance.

His last name is a reference to Belphegor, the Demon embodying the sin of Sloth, and consequently, Dedede would be its sinner later down the line. His middle name is simply ''Dedede'' which is were he got the name from, since his mother remembered that name as some kind of myth from his family.

He's Scandinavian!

He's based off both concepts in history, trains (along with Steampunk) and vikings!

He's currently missing, having mysteriously vanished one decade or so before the Ancients collapsed. It's unknown if he was involved with that.

Perhaps, no one is meant to know what happened there.

Meggy is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Sometimes when I'm pondering the orbs/trying to scrape up what little characterisation there is of Galacta Knight so I can figure out how to write his character, the little quippy shotgun rider in the back of my mind chips in:

He's a 10, but he laughs like a demented seagull. "AAHAhahaha!"

He has the appetite and hubris of a seagull trying to swallow an entire hotdog.

He and Meta Knight are studying each other in a petri dish.

No fear -> Meets Bandee's Nana -> One fear

The elegance of a swan, the indomitable spirit of a territorial mother goose, the tenacity of a pigeon with a clubfoot. And the aggression of a swan.

Me, thinking: "Even after he chooses to better himself he's still not exactly a sweet person." Me-not-me: "That's-a spicy meatball!"

Have you ever looked a chicken in the eye? They remember when they were dinosaurs.

You can lead a Galacta Knight to healthy conflict resolution, but you can't make him drink.

He's a homing pigeon. Homing in on your location.

Instead of hitting him with the scary hands beam like Starflungwaddledee, you hit him with the scary teeth beam. And then the scary hands beam.

When all you have is a lance, everything starts looking like a target.

He's the Hero Circling the Origin. Circling it like a drain.

Uses 'fowl' language.

"Bah!" GK is Scrooge being tormented by the ghosts of his victims past, present and yet to come (and the grim reaper) to change his ways before it's too late.

GK is not really a man, because while he's bipedal he's not featherless.

Stabbing children isn't his favourite pastime. Teaching children how to stab, on the other hand...

This is less of a 'We can fix him if we hug him enough!'-fic and more of a 'We're showing him the tools to improve, but he has to pick them up himself. Which he won't do until he thinks he's worth it.'-fic.

His breakdown is like the emotional equivalent of draining pus from a festering wound.

The inherent homoeroticism of stabbing a man with a stubby pink lance...and then having to pull it out by the shaft.

He's not entirely unhinged, but his hinges are rusty and failing.

Galacta Knight *gets hit with several deadly weapons*. "'Tis but a scratch."

Kirby stopping him: "I defeated him with the power of friendship! And this sharp stick I inhaled."

He has the petty meanness of a parrot.

He explodes recreationally.

Worse: he flies into the air, displays the colours of the pansexual flag and THEN explodes. Extremely straight behaviour.

Instead of the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone he contains the holy trinity of thwarted theater kid, world-weary butch and the Faggiest Grandfather in the Galaxy.

He could absolutely kill you and might even laugh while doing so, but it's not so much him being gleefully murderous as:

Fighting is one of the few reprieves from his unfathomable boredom and frustration.

He thinks he's irredeemable so he might as well play the villain. He's not completely heartless, but why try being kind anymore when his role is fixed anyway? Phah! Nobody spares him, so why should he show mercy?

If people summon him they're asking for it + if he just stood there and let them kill him that would be unsatisfying for both parties.

He never learned how to deal with big complicated feelings except by lashing out.

By now the pattern of 'being summoned -> fight -> win or lose' is so deeply engraved into him he'd have to climb out of the groove, so he responds to any slight by competing.

He's so used to bloodshed he doesn't know how to have a normal conversation anymore.

I'm getting a better feel for him, but guess what: if characters live rent-free in your head you can put them in a terrarium of your choosing, but they will decide how to interact with it afterwards.

For example:

At this point I can't put Galacta Knight and King Dedede in a room together unsupervised because their massive egos make them bicker and posture at each other. (They're establishing pecking order/jealously trying to impress Meta Knight, who pretends not to notice. Bird rivalry go!) It would soon have them at each other's throats. They're surprisingly similar, but that also makes them absolutely allergic to each other. If you thought Dedede and Kirby had a rivalry, well, theirs is much worse. Kirby's perfectly happy to have a competition, but he's not (usually) interested in mocking his opponent, so that defuses the situation. But Galacta Knight's a sore loser and a smug winner. If DDD and GK ever do become friends it will grow out of a begrudging respect for each other's strength and the discovery they both like: a) Shitty puns, b) Sick Burns™ and c) Teasing Meta Knight.

On the other hand, after a rough start Galacta Knight and Kirby get along like a house on fire. Kirby's just not intimidated by him, so no matter what threats GK tries, he eventually has to accept he's being befriended. He has no choice. They beat each other up, make up, bake pancakes and have a sleepover. Yay! This does not stop him from being a bit of an untitled goose bastard. It just means Kirby's exempt from the worst.

He and Meta Knight are orbiting each other like binary stars trying to figure out why the other is definitely so much weirder and more unhinged.

MK: He tried to kill me on sight. I'm going to spare him to figure out why. Huh? He's so strong and beautiful! *Notices the serrated teeth and the unhinged seagull laugh.* Never mind.

GK: I am loath to gaze upon thy dim countenance, thou stupid anomalous manlet! Thou art short and ugly! I hate thee! ...I need to know more. Kiss me I mean I'll kill thee if thou touchest me!

He and Bandee are, uh, yeah. Strained is what I would call it. GK feels disdain for people weaker than him, but admiration for the dedicated. Bandee is both of those things. So he settles for giving him a lesson in stabbing more effectively. Bandee is just ??? the entire time.

They all help him fix different aspects of himself. Kirby offered him a non-judgmental outlet for his emotions. Meta Knight made sure he was physically healthy. Dedede, reluctant as they both were about it, helped ground him in reality and showed him change is possible. Bandee helped him re-evaluate his priorities and values.

It's less that he's suddenly developed a conscience and more that he's finally getting the chance to see them as people. Normally he gets summoned and has to fight immediately. There's no time to chat, or sit down, or think about anything but battle. With every clash with a familiar face his opponents feel more like advanced training dummies than people. It's just another iteration, they don't matter. But this time he crashed in the jungle, then had to survive on his own for six days. Once the adrenaline wore off he started feeling things like pain, hunger and loneliness. He had to find food, he had to find shelter, he had to deal with (well, avoid) noncombatants. He started using his voice again, he had time to think and see things beyond the battlefield. He didn't know what to do with himself.

So by the time this Kirby and Meta Knight show up he's in a completely different mindset. Especially when they try to reason with him. When they heal him and feed him and even invite him over. You can't really sit down with someone over a nice cup of tea without starting to see them as a person. Someone with opinions, needs and desires and insecurities. Not so different from you. And the more you see them as a person, the more you care about them and the more difficult it becomes to want to kill them.

Too bad that doesn't mean his unresolved grief and anger issues are completely gone. It just means that if he lashes out and kills them now he will regret it. Forever.

There's a war going on in his head between the touch-starved wet beast screaming "TOUCH ME! LOVE ME! HOLD ME! PLEEEASE!" and the vengeful side ready to kill and maim screaming "TRY ME. I DESPISE EVERYTHING ABOUT THEE, THOU FILTHY ITERATION OF MY NEMESIS!"

Now he finds himself in the middle, fickle and wishy-washy, craving affection, desperate to be accepted, but lashing out at any slight.

How literal is that "hearts the source of magla" thing and how literal are the mechanical hearts. I wouldnt put it past the devs for everyone to be a robot.

Louis is wayyy to important narratively to die this early. Probably. Uh the theater audience cant see the roof well. If eupha recalls the lance they'll know someone took it but not who. If you're going to give forden the lance anyways i dont see why bother appearing on stage. didnt do that good of a job telling how evil louis was could have given a better speech. SHOULD HAVE CHECKED LOUIS WAS DEAD YOURSELVES. Also that hooded guy is so sus. Forden think they're working for him but they also reported to louis about the party's actions. Havent been commenting too much because it's too good. One thing that bothers me is the timeline and prince's assassination attempt which happened like 12? Years ago. Rella and louis were said to be unusually young and i guess this is a jrpg but having like a 16 year old general feels a bit much. And if hulkenberg was a royal knight presumably she had some accomplishments and experience already before being promoted. Fidelio was already a trusted aide of louis (presumably with military accomplishments) before the assassination attempt. Anyways it just feels like the timeline is very tight and a number of people were in rather veteran positions despite being rather young. I suppose it's plausible much of the cast is in their early 30s. Fidelio's appearence is nonindicative of his age but a lot of the cast though feel 20s like stohl feels young, first venture as an adult and all. An easier solution really would have been to make the assassination attempt not that long ago say 6 years instead.

There are so many shibuyas in this game. Because its already established that the modern world in in the past and this is post apocalyptic. Then there's more's book which i initially assumed was a nod to irl (like in kingdom hearts) but then was revealed to maybe be historically based. Now he's saying the game isn't real, should have used video footage like Eva rebuild did. We're fighting against the author. Who's also our dad while our mom supporting us. Dad's oc vs son's oc. outer space fight is cool but in the middle of shibuya like the yozora fight also would have been cool.

excellent game. good enough that i don't have many complaints which is why this is short i always write more when i have something to complain about. I ended up really liking all the parapus characters like catherina is so good hell yeah community organizing! she's actually doing the work.
