Larp and Monty’s Metamorphies by cindercritter

IFDB - Game

Summary: Larp & Monty’s Metamorphies is a little text-base adventure about two door guards who find themselves in a bit of a pickle.

If you've read Kafka The Metamorphosis, you should have an idea of the ride you're about to embark. But rather than taking a bleak modern route, the author took a completely absurd fantasy one.

You are Monty, of Larp and Monty, a guard guarding a Tower-of-Sauron-like tower, but something went wrong. And then, Larp becomes weird. And then, it's your turn. And now, what?

Well, this becomes a bit of running around to get to safety then deciding that to do and where to go because of "the metamorphoses". Do you go back to where you came from, hoping things will get back to normal, or accept this new state? Very kafka-esque.

Even if the medium it was based on is relatively dark, the game is much lighter, pushing the humorous aspect in the banter between the two characters or the descriptions and narration. It is a delight.

Small note: after some choices, the page will refresh to add the new text, but scroll all the way down the page rather than staying at the top. As most bit are sizeable, you will have to scroll back up quite often.

Anyone who ever said Metamorpohis is about Kafkas Daddy issues was wrong, its about depression and body disphoria and very likely about being trans the Daddy Issue is just a side effect of that

Battle Magician

1/4 - Enter ‘Bethma Village’

Not having enough mana was inconvenient in many ways. As someone who was born with vast amount of mana, the lack of mana was even more acutely felt. As she kept longing for her missing mana Aisha shook her head. She needed a new resolve.

2/4 - Bethma - Clear ‘Bethma Lake’ [0/1]

She sometimes feels sorry for the power she lost. But if someone asks if that's all she is, she would say no. She still has her brains and experience she gained researching vast topics. Though she would still need to find her ring. Aisha decides to find another way to become stronger instead of being tied down to her missing magic.

3/4 -  Enter ‘Bethma Village’

Perhaps it's because she changed her mind, but Aisha remembers the magic pendant that her grandfather gave her before they parted ways. It was a pendant that greatly increases power for a short period.

Release of pure mana... An idea popped in her head that wouldn't have occurred before when she was still fixated on mana.

4/4 - Bethma - Clear ‘Dragon’s Nest’ [0/1]

Using close-range fighting technique with the magic pendant's amplifying function, she can release her mana.

It may sound complicated, but she is confident in her calculations. If she uses magic orbs and magic circles for support, she should be able to use spells that's as powerful as before. Let's try experimenting this new magic.

A Leedsichthys juvenile swims next to the eye of an adult of its own species.

A mermaid and her baby encounter a deep sea camera deep in the Mediterranean sea.

An Otang (Theroanthropus africanus) treats an insect bite on his older partner's face using some chewed up medicinal plants.

A Bigfin Tiamat (Metamorphis megaloptera) swims alongside a school of Great Iricts (Nyctocaelora hemistriatus) in the Pacific ocean.

Y'know, I probably should tag this for zombies but it's like nearly 11pm and I need sleep desperately so here is some more G5 Horrors

Metamorphis plague was born from a changeling who's body had undergone so many changes that it had forgotten who he was, and thus melted into this as a result. It infected many ponies during Twilights reign, causing an outbreak that shook Manehattan to it's core, but was successfully contained deep within the forests surrounding where Bridlewood would be founded.

Nowadays it rests, feeding off of whatever woodland creatures are just a little too close to it, but it knows it isn't enough and eventually it will want more...
