I'll say it: I love the MLA, but they probably shouldn't have existed. Not in their canon state, at least.

Everything about their presence after their introductory arc only really serves to make everything to do with storytelling harder for Horikoshi. Let's remove the League from the equation for the moment. The MLA has Geten and Re-Destro, implied to be two of the more powerful characters in the series (and neither of whom were actually defeated during the MVA arc, with the latter only standing down due to losing his own faith in the battle), and that's without getting into the 100k+ foot soldiers they've got kicking around. Curious and Skeptic are fairly useless in regards to combat proficiency, but Hanabata provides another strong support pillar of the army. Even before you add in Shigaraki, Twice and Dabi, the MLA is overpowered.

And what did this lead to? A massively tangled operation where half of its members had to be unsatisfyingly knocked out off-screen because Horikoshi had accidentally made them too powerful to be conceivably beaten. And to be fair, it's a trap I fell into myself the last time I wrote them. The Liberation Army are very difficult to make threatening, because you have to gimp them in order for the heroes to not get immediately blown to pieces like a small child throwing a rock at the Berlin Wall. As it stands, they're too good.

So, in all this smug retrospect, what would I have done? Well, it's something I'm toying with for something I'm working on, but my main idea would be to cut the MLA down. Make them a real underground faction of extremists. They still have their primary figureheads, but that aside, give them a couple of hundred loyalists spread throughout the country, not a couple of hundred thousand. They're powerful, but they're low in number, with many of their forces consisting of people like Yotsubashi's private security team and Hanabata's party subordinates. Much like the IRB at the turn of the twentieth century prior to the Easter Rising, they're basically an old boys' club, sitting around and reminiscing on when the group had power. Their schemes have to be more subtle, more focused on the - ahem - hearts and minds of the public. Things like Detnerat's products and commercials, Curious' articles, Hanabata's proposed policies, they all subtly push a pro-Liberation message. They warm the general population up to the idea, they take advantage of the Commission's failures, they engineer public crises from behind the scenes to weaken people's belief in the current system. What if, for example, it had been the MLA who had secretly encouraged Overhaul's production of a Quirk-erasing drug, in the hopes that it would cause further unrest and fear that they could manipulate to turn public sentiment against the current government? What if they had provided funding to the League post-All for One's arrest in order to stir up more trouble, instead of getting in a big fight and losing half their men to Shigaraki? What if the UA traitor had been acting on orders from the MLA, who then relayed the information to the League for the purpose of essentially using them as their pawns to attack UA on their behalf? A secret society pulling the strings, and using the League as their unwitting patsies, behind the scenes to sow distrust in the Commission and set them up for their eventual failure. The final arc could have been less about whatever the hell it was about and more about the League finally realising what was going on and having a massive three-way battle between the heroes, the villains and the MLA who finally take to the streets after spending pretty much the whole story scheming and manipulating and building up their forces.

It's all fanfic stuff, and it's so easy to point and gape and go "I would do that so much better!" but I honestly think the secret society working to undermine the government angle would have been more interesting and made for a more threatening faction than a massive revolutionary army which gets immediately crumpled during their first major battle with the heroes.

They’re so laughably incompetent that the school as a whole would probably have been shut down already if it weren’t for all the bribes, and it’s pretty clear if you actually talk to the students here that the smart ones don’t exactly think highly of their teachers.”

Re-Destro: “Well, perhaps, but-“

Curious: “And those ‘smart ones’ just so happen to include all of the students with particularly powerful metahuman abilities. The ones who are planning to pursue the lifestyle of becoming heroes. You know, the sort of people we’re supposed to be getting on our side? If this is their first impression of the Meta Liberation Army, most of the truly capable students will disregard our organization as a pathetic joke! The only ones willing to join will be the weak and stupid ones who will never rise above grunt work!”

Re-Destro: “All the better for those of us who are already at the top!”

Re-Destro: “You see? You’re overthinking things. Everything is going according to plan.”

Curious: “…you haven’t listened to a word I said, have you?”

It's extremely funny to me that Curious is having this experience of steadily growing horror as she realizes who, exactly, she's been working with all this time on all levels of the organization.

Sure is a shame that, of all the upper brass of the MLA, the one who's started doubting the cult is their PR manager and media specialist.

PLF Advisors: My Take on their Aliases, Bios and Quirks

Because why not celebrate this blog no longer being shadowbanned than by another list of MHA's most bizarrely handled Villains!~ Here is basically the names I thought up for most of them and tried to keep it in line with the whole 'religious' aspect of the MLA. Quirks are kind of based on vibes.

Sanctum

“Currently, the oldest living member of the Meta Liberation Army turned Paranormal Liberation Front. Strict, no-nonsense  person that basically acted as temp MLA leader until Re-Destro was of age. He became Twice’s #1 Advisor in order to try to direct the most unstable of the League of Villains to more MLA values. It hasn’t really gone well in that regards. He joined the MLA since he genuinely believed that society’s current draconian ruling regarding Quirks was unsustainable and a new order that supported liberal usage of powers was beneficial to all metahuman kind. His base was a well known private university with Sanctum serving as it's President that would indoctrinate youth to the MLA. ”

Meta Ability: Sanctum - He creates an impromptu hideout for temporary rest and recouping for his allies...and if any enemy tries to answer without permission they are mentally harmed until they leave or die.

Vent

“The second oldest member of the Meta Liberation Army. A Heteromorph whose seen a lot of tragic sights regarding discrimination for being so visually different and joined the MLA in hopes of elevating hopes of reform. Though in his age, he has since passed down his fire to Disgustus, while mellowing out a good deal. These days he likes to tell young folk stories of his youth and act as a mentor. Dislikes being called Grandpa. His base is a scrapyard that has hands in many recycling program efforts and non-profits, especially those related to defective support items in the hero industry and is constantly seeking volunteers/accepting rehab people to help in Vent’s operations…and eventually the MLA’s.”

Meta Ability: Air Manipulation - For a brief space and time, he can alter air to be able to fly or use air pressure to stall/crush his foes.

Blossom

“Otherwise known as Auntie Blossom to the younger people in the MLA (she hates being called Grandma - she’s not that old yet!!). She operated an orphanage that took in kids and teens being abandoned or coming in abused because of society’s intolerance to Quirks and lack of accommodation for them. When the orphanage was in danger of being shut down, the MLA stepped in to give it the funds it needed to thrive. Because of that, both Blossom’s loyalty and a new stream of recruits was acquired that day. Blossom loves to spoil the younger MLA folks rotten, and can’t help but dote on even her peers as well. However, she has no love for the current status quo and is ruthless against those that support it. She’s the mother to another Advisor in the Violet Regiment.”

Meta Ability: Sweet Smell - Emits a pleasant scent that lowers enemies accuracy and evasion...leaving them open for Blossom and her broom spear.

Fervor

“Dabi’s 1st ranked Advisor. Just one look and you get all that you would know of about FErvor. He’s an energetic to the point of insane man, whose own self-preservation isn’t even remotely close on his mind. He’s an utter battle junkie that loves to go all out with is Quirk in brawls. He was recruited int othe MLA after higher-ups witnessed his power in a street fight, and sought to recruit him. Currently, he’s the manager of a support Despite his looks, he’s actually pretty friendly to his underlings and his co-workers…they still are pretty wary of him though.”

Meta Ability: Frenzy - Like a shark, he enters a frenzied state when smelling blood. His pain sensors dull, and he grows faster and stronger too.

Strict

“Strict is one of many in the Meta Liberation Army that believed he should have had a better lot in life than what he has now. He actually aspired to be a Hero himself, but his brutal disposition and cold attitude towards civilians/people he thought of as lesser had him expelled from his school. Eventually, during his current stint as head of a security company, he would come across Destro’s book, which eventually lead to him joining the MLA.”

Meta Ability: Gaseous - He can turn the very air around him into different sorts of gases.

Pierce

“Pierce is an up-and-coming Commander of the Meta Liberation Army. He’s known as the charismatic bad boy of the new generation of MLA executives. He’s dating Bless, and is known for being a teasing, yet loyal companion. Pierce joined the MLA as a wayward youth without much to his name, yet eager to make his mark on the world. The base he controls over is actually a hostel that he acts as a hangout for lost souls like himself and a refuge for those with nowhere to go, with Pierce essentially being their big brother figure.”

Meta Ability: Puncture - He can make holes in anyone and anything, though in himself, it's mostly harmless.

Wisdom

“Wisdom has the reputation of being the most levelheaded of the PLF Advisors. Wisdom is a Quirk therapist that helps people deal with the trauma or issues their powers have given them. As a result, though, he was constantly butting heads with the current dogma concerning the ineffective Quirk counseling at the time. Eventually, in frustration he joined the MLA to change society’s views, and uses his position as a therapist to guide more hurt people towards an organization that will readily accept them and their powers.”

Meta Ability - Flash Orb. He can throw out orbs that act as mini-bombs and/or flashbangs on his targets.

Bless

“Bless is a woman who was essentially raised into the MLA as apart of its new generation of MLA executives. Bless is the daughter of Blossom, and had been helping her mother ever since she was young in her endeavors with the Cause. She’s a deadpan snarker, and doesn’t hold a high opinion concerning a lot of her allies and their intelligence, but is devoted to working with what she got. Dating Pierce, who genuinely loves her, even with her face being scarred due to her Quirk - something she is self-conscious about. She's running her own private clinic that especially caters to those who struggle with Quirk related illness or injuries, and holds the most medical knowledge of the Advisors.”

Meta Ability: Corrosive Breath - She can emit noxious, steel melting breath. Due to the potency of her breath, she needs her guard to properly keep it under control.

Sly

“Sly is a Heteromorphic man that comes from a poor, neglected, family with fox Quirks. Ultimately, he split up for them in an attempt to make it on his own as a businessman, dissatisfied with society’s treatment of them. He joined Detnerat as apart of its weapon testing branch and eventually becoming acting director of his own division once he joined the MLA. He’s frugal man that loathes wasteful spending, having come from a home that relied on every cent counting.”

Meta Ability: Fox! He can do everything a fox can!!

Speculate

“Speculate was Curious’ Vice President of Shoowaysha, handling things in the organization while her boss was away. Her own inquisitive nature and need for the truth had her meet Curious as kindred spirits who have been disillusioned with journalism concerning Hero Society. As one can expect, she holds mixed feelings regarding working under Toga. However, she tries to be professional and polite when going about her new PLF life, determined to see Curious’ will come to fruition.”

Meta Ability: Shutterbugs. Can create little minions to act as her means of attack or recon of any area or person.

Keen

“An introvert to their core, Keen is the most reclusive member of the MLA commanders, but is still one of their best assets. A skilled programmer in their own right, Keen was recruited by the MLA after Skeptic was impressed by their own set of programming skills when Keen applied for Feel Good Inc. Skeptic introduced them to the fold and they eventually became commander of a base that was an Internet Cafe. They’re a major Star Wars fan and would rather not be seen out of their cosplay.”

Meta Ability: Tamper - They can tamper with any electronic device and use that to either attack or disrupt their foes.

Bold

“A former street fighter in her younger years, Bold is a big sister type, she loves to rumble and is highly competitive, so when the MLA offered her a world where she can do that her heart’s content, she readily agreed. Bold runs a private gym and is always eager to help new clients get in shape themselves.”

Meta Ability: Brawn Boost - Can enhance her muscles for a limited amount of time.

Red

“It’s hard to imagine that Red was a 1st-ranked Advisor with his laidback attitude, but he was actually one of the most active members of the Intelligence Regiment. He owns his own bar that’s an active hotspot for disgruntled patrons and broken folk, as well as government official and Heroes who are prone to letting things slip in their drunken states. Like many others, he joined the MLA out of frustration with the system. He oftens tries to get Skeptic to go drinking with him, to no avail.”

Meta Ability: Liquid Control - Red can bend liquid to his will and even manipulate it to act as weapons.

Slidin’ Go

“Was once the highest ranked Hero in the Meta Liberation army before Hawks joined the PLF. He was one of many struggling Heroes in the thousands, barely being able to scrape by due to his lack of popularity. It was the MLA that reached out to him, promoting him and getting him in the upper echelons of the Hero rankings, in exchange for his loyalty.”

Meta Ability: Some slide on the wiki already.

Victory

“A Heteromorphic man who life hasn’t really been kind to him, since minute one, given his toad mutation. Pretty much a social outcast, he was left with little choice but to join the MLA to gain some sort of refuge. He’s very bright and a great engineer, if a bit sloppy, and it’s to the point he’s in charge of his own workshop for the Cause, where he develops much of the cutting edge support items Detnerat uses.”

Meta Ability: Toad. He can do whatever a toad can.

Power

“A grumpy individual that thinks highly of himself and lowly of those not in his position. He was a fierce believer in the Electric Dream - that those who hold electrification Quirks were destined for greatness in Hero Society due to their powers always being in demand. However, his ego and carelessness had him lose job after job in such fields. Bitter and wanting nothing more than to dominate the society that ‘failed to see his greatness’, his eyes were turned to the MLA. He is currently the chief of security of one of their hideouts that acts as a supply depot.”

Meta Ability: Amplivolt - Can do whatever shocking thing it does on the wiki.

Flair

“Flair is a part of the new generation of MLA commanders that was set to take over the organization’s reigns later on in life. Flair is a pretty boy that has the hearts of many of soldiers, boy, and girls alike, with his down to earth nature making him very likable. Flair runs a cafe that actually serves a hangout spot for his fellow Commanders and even other higher-ups when they just want a chance to unwind. He also plays guitar and likes doing songs cover to his cafe audience.”

Meta Ability: Heat Spikes - Can generate a layer of fire spikes to use against his foes, and can cover his body with them as well like a porcupine.

Question

“Who are they? Now that’s the Question: and the answer is fairly simple! The Question is a flamboyant actor who dreamt of making their theatre a big shot in the entertainment world. But, sadly, while they were a good manager, it was a constant struggle to keep the theatre afloat. Thankfully, the MLA stepped in to provide said fundings for not only repairs but to even host plays that made use of the talent’s Quirks as well!! While controversial, it became a smash hit and the Question was loyal to the MLA ever since.”

Meta Ability: Inquisition - Can force a person to go mad with questions about their own existence.

Fury

“A heteromorphic woman that received the brunt of both ends of discrimination for her looks. Both from those who despised her appearance, and those who thought of her as ‘exotic’ and a prize to show off. Filled with rage against the current status quo for this, she joined the MLA for finally payback such actions. Fury runs a shelter for unhoused Heteromorphs who can’t find accommodation easily.”

Meta Ability: Shell Hair - Can use her hair as a shield or as sharp weapons to attack.

Disgustus

“Of the Heteromorphic Trio of the Spinner’s advisors, Disgustus, as per his name, holds the most bitterness towards society. Similar to Spinner, he had to deal with harassment and assault by non-heteromorphs, and has become filled with vengeance and hatred because of it. Naturally, he found his home in the MLA as it was his best chance at rectifying such an issue. An eloquent speaker, he has the best persuasion skills of his trio, which serves well for his job maintaining a church.”

Meta Ability: Spider - Does whatever a spider can.

Joy

“Like with Fury and Disgustus he was also a victim of Heteromorphic discrimination and often thought to be stupid for his passiveness. However, Joy is a big believer of being subtle with intent and purpose: until it’s too late for your enemies. As such, he fits right alongside the shadow organization of the PLF. His base is a recreational center for the youth of Heteromorphs.”

Meta Ability: Size Increase - Can bloat or thin himself at will, and even down to specific body parts.

Holidays have arrived and a family reunion can never end well with both hurt in the end.

Izuku Midoriya x Reader

Warnings: Injuries/violence, angst, just sad shit

Time moved on until it was mid-December and snow was gracing you all as the holidays got close. Your classmates were enjoying the few snow days you gained because of the weather and progress had been made your whole class had now their provisional licenses. The class moves with training with different heroes you all just returning from a Media exercise with Midnight and Mount. Lady. Excitement buzzed off all of you as the winter break loomed over you all.

“Did you guys hear the news?!” Kaminari says as you all were relaxing in the common area, you were scrolling through your phone leaning against Mina.

“What news?” Iida asks and Kaminari scrambles to grab the tv remote changing the channel to the news where it shows the news report of Deika City.

“A terrible tragedy unfolded in this once peaceful city. According to eyewitnesses, a group of 20 men and women with a particular grudge against heroes were the culprits. To conduct this premeditated attack the terrorists used false information to lure heroes just outside the city before commencing their assault. In the face of the sudden threat, the citizens of Deika banned together to fight back.” The news reporter explained showing videos of the fight occurring and when it showed the aerial view of the damage you couldn’t help but shiver at the destruction. There was a large crater right in the middle of the city and sections of the city were damaged as well.

“Woah that’s crazy,” Kirishima mumbles as the reporter continues on with the incident. It's crazy to think this insane fight happened while you all were enjoying your day unaware of any news.

The faint sound of cheers fills your head and you turn looking around but there was nothing just your classmates watching the news story.

“LIBERATION WARRIORS!” A voice cuts clear through your head and you flinch slightly Mina gives you a quick look before turning back to the news. Pushing yourself up you head to the elevator pressing the button feeling a heaviness in your chest as it travels to your floor.

“THE METAHUMAN LIBERATION ARMY IS REBORN!!” The same voice yells out and you stumble out of the elevator pushing yourself to your room, the lights almost blinding you and a ringing sensation in your head as you slam into your door. Struggling to open the door as your head screams in pain and the voice continues speaking.

“IN OUR QUEST TO ENLIGHTEN THE WORLD WITH DESTRO’S WILL…”

You slam the door open pushing through swinging it shut behind you when you look up finding yourself on a large stage looking down at what looks like hundreds of ordinary people. The bright lights directed at you makes you put a hand up to block it.

“BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND I WAS BLIND TO THE TRUTH! BOUND BY MY BLOOD AND TRAPPED BY PRINCIPLES THAT IS, UNTIL THAT DAY I WITNESSED TRUE LIBERATION! HAVE I SURRENDERED? NO!!” A voice to your left yells out and you turn to see a finely dressed businessman sitting in a very mechanical chair yelling out to the crowd.

“I NOW SEE THAT TOMURA SHIGARAKI IS A TRUE LIBERATOR! IT IS OUT OF DEEP REVERENCE AND NECESSITY THAT I ABDICATE MY POSITION!” You freeze and just past the man speaking there he sat in some ridiculous chair. You almost didn’t recognize him his hair was white the same as yours.

“THE LIBERATION ARMY IS REVIVED…WITH TOMURA SHIGARAKI AS ITS GRAND COMMANDER! IN LIGHT OF OUR COMMITMENT TO WALK A MORE PROFOUND PATH OF LIBERATION…OUR LIBERATION ARMY AND THE LEAGUE OF VILLAINS WILL CONDUCT A MERGER UNDER A NEW NAME!! THE LEAGUE’S SPINNER AND I DEVISED THIS NAME TOGETHER. NOW TELL THEM WHAT IT IS…TOMURA SHIGARAKI!!” The man calls out and you look in shock as the rest of the League and what you assume are members of the original liberation come forward.

“The Paranormal Liberation Front. We removed the ‘Villain’ part and expanded on the concept of liberation. I appoint the nine individuals you see here as my lieutenants, who will each be forming teams suited to their separate needs.” Tenko says, “Hmph that name’s just decoration. Kinda like this thing here…” He pulls off the hand covering his face and where you stand you can see bandages covering his face, “We’re gonna do whatever we want!”

The crowd screams in joy and horror runs through you. This wasn’t just a small band of villains trying to take down the Symbol of Peace it was now an army and they were going to do things much worse.

You quickly follow after them as they head through a tunnel. Tenko has a large coat with a fur collar almost reminding you of Overhaul, as he walks with a crutch and leg brace on his left leg.

“Splendidly done, sir! Something to drink perhaps?” The man rubs his hands together, was he ass-kissing your brother?

“Get lost,” Tenko growls and the man quickly speeds away on his chair/bike thing.

“Tenko…” Your voice rings out through the tunnel and you see him freeze in place as well as the other League members and they turn to see you standing in the hall.

They quickly pull out weapons and pointed at you as you keep staring at the back of your brother’s back. “How did you get in here!” Compress says. “Let me cut her Tomura,” Toga says her blade ready for blood but you ignore them.

“Look at me Tenko.” You say and he shuffles to turn around and he looks at you through the hand covering his face, he looked like he was barely able to hold himself up. The disgust was clear on your face what he was doing…he was only going to get himself and a lot of people killed.

“You shouldn’t be here.” He says and you scoff glaring at him.

“Why? Thought I would be dead…you seemed content finishing me off with that Nomu of yours.” You spat and you could see the frustration through the hand on his face. “I won’t let you hurt people..”

“You wouldn’t be able to stop them all by yourself.” He says and you tilt your head.

“You sure about that?” It was a blur before Tenko hits the wall your hand holding his up by the neck and the few League members let out shouts.

His hand instinctively closes on your wrist all five fingers but nothing happens to look back at you, your hair is floating in the air eyes red making the two of you identical. Your hand squeezes tighter and his breath hitches and red sparks appear from your hand.

“Remember which one of us has the better quirk Tenko.” You spat and he can’t help but shiver to see the bloodlust in your eyes. Even the League hesitates they had seen you as this scared little girl but at this moment. You were exactly like All For One. You see movement from behind you and you barely glance at them, “Take another step and I’ll snap his neck. I could level this whole building without lifting a finger. Turns out that bastard All For One has some use.” You say and the tension in the tunnel is tense as your brother stares down at you and the League watches to see your next move. You drop him and he hits the floor his hand clutching his throat and rubbing the soreness. Your hair falls back to your shoulders the power of All Of One settling back inside you.

“You’re more powerful than Tomura…take his quirk as your own. Lead the Liberation, Shimura…lead them to your claim.” His voice is crisp a sadistic grin on his face looking down at his sad successor finding enjoyment toying with the two of you.

“I could take your quirk right now if I wanted to…I already did it with Overhaul and this itch won’t leave because of it,” You squat down to his level and pull the hand off his face the bandages cover him but your gaze pierces through him. “He keeps telling me to take One For All, claim it as my own. That it’s my right. So I think our stories got messed up Tenko.”

You say standing up and dropping the hand back into his clutches, “If you were meant to be All For One’s successor…why I am the one that has both One For All and All For One.” Tenko springs forward his hand going to make contact with your chest but it goes through and you step back looking down at him.

“Don’t do something stupid Tenko…because you won’t win. I won’t let you.” You say.

“I’ll kill you then.” He spits glaring up at you with hatred beyond anything you’ve seen and at that moment you knew there would be no turning back. No time to rekindle and become brother and sister again, this was the point of no return. And Tenko…no Shigaraki has fulled crossed it leaving you behind.

“Goodbye Shigaraki.” You say and you see no remorse in his eyes and it was clear his plan to destroy the world was set and even you wouldn’t be able to change that.

Turning around you find yourself back in your room, the coldness in the room and your heart apparent. Something wet slides down your face and quickly wiping your cheek you see it’s your tears. When had you started crying? You both made your choice and it wasn’t meant for either of you to be happy together.

His hand was rough in texture as he traces the features on your face-scanning you over during the attack on U.A when you first met. Your first moment reunited after years apart.

Seeing each other again at the mall his touch is gentle not touching you with all five fingers like before. His hand pushes a strand of hair back watching your face as you watch him, “You keep changing Y/n…”

“Don’t go...Please don’t leave me..” He begs you and a small part of you tells you to stay but you knew you couldn’t. The air cold on your skin as holding his face with the hand covering it. And you left him running to the safety of the heroes during Kamino.

Memories of the two of you as children the wonder in your eyes as you took in everything Tenko said, “When we get older we can become heroes, we’ll be a brother-sister duo and save people.”

“I promise I’ll keep you safe.”

His hands held your fragile body as you begged him to stop following All For One plan, “Please you have to believe me! You can stop all of this. We can be together if you stop. Don't do this.” You clutch his coat as he looks conflicted, “Let me see you…we can figure this out together.”

“No, it’s not! You’re not supposed to die! You aren’t allowed to die!” His cries on that highway after the raid. Your hand reaches out cupping his face and making contact with him he shivers at the cold feeling of your palm. “Tenko…I forgive you.”

But in those moments of kindness and warmth he changed, he wasn’t the same anymore, rougher…crueler, he had changed becoming less of Tenko Shimura and more of Tomura Shigaraki.

“Liar! You’re here to tell those heroes what my plans are? You’re no better than those heroes, Master was right about you!” He spat at you his hand pinning you to the metal bar choking you but still keeping a finger away from you. “Tenko.” He says and you keep moving away from him and anger consumes him, “You call me Tenko, that’s my name! Not Shigaraki only Tenko! Say it!” His voice gets harsher coming after you.

“SAY IT!”

The hatred in his eyes and the venom dripping from his mouth as you stood in that tunnel, “I’ll kill you then.” At that moment he didn’t care if you were his only sibling left he would kill you just like he did to your family. You had lost him.

The ground was rough under you as you gasp for air your tears flooding your eyes. Crying into your hands you didn’t feel the arms wrapped around you and comforting words whispered to you. You lost everyone. Your mother..your father…your grandparents...Nana…Hana…and now.

“Tenko?” A child calls out seeing the boy with his back towards you as you stand there with a child beside you. The younger version of himself with his black hair and grey eyes looks back looking at the younger version of you your hair black and e/c eyes. Tenko looks at you before turning to disappear and you see your younger self gone leaving you and this older man. His hair was long and white dressed in the clothes of a liberation leader…of a villain.

“Tenko.” It’s silent before not even a glance back and walks away the shadows eating him up leaving you alone forever.

BNHA Observations, speculations and assorted info: The facts taking place during BNHA second year: December

So, in order to write my fic, I spend much time observing canon scenes, comparing the manga and the anime version, take note of details, translations and info in them as well as finding out how are some things called.

Since what I noticed/speculated/found out can be of use for other fic authors I thought to share as well.

OBSERVATIONS, SPECULATIONS AND ASSORTED INFO:

You might notice a special focus on the Todoroki family as all their birthdays and statuses are listed. That’s because this timeline was originally meant to focus solely on them and then I included info about the other characters.

BEGINNING OF DECEMBER: Todoroki Tōya/Dabi phones to Takami Keigo/Hawks asking him to kill a Hero who’s not the Number One. [BNHA Chap 231, 299 It could have happened at the end of November as well but since the attack with the High-End Nōmu happened at the end of November it's more likely Dabi waited a little before contacting Hawks]

DECEMBER 6: Todoroki Fuyumi turns 23.

DECEMBER: 2nd term final exam. [In Japan they're usually held during the first week of December]

EARLY DECEMBER (SUNDAY): Todoroki Shōto and Bakugō Katsuki license course ends with a final test and they finally gain their provisional Hero licence. Detnerat entered the hero support sector. Yotsubashi Rikiya/Re-Destro kills Miyashita and then he's informed his men have found someone connected to the League so he tells them to procede. Todoroki Shōto and Bakugō, who has gotten their licence by half a hour, stop some Villains. By night Re-Destro's men captures Okuta Kagerō/Giran who however had managed to erase his client list first and bring him to Re-Destro. [BNHA Chap 218-219]

DECEMBER: Hawks pretends to kill Best Jeanist to prove Dabi his loyalty to the league. [BNHA Chap 231]

DECEMBER (3 DAYS BEFORE RE-DESTRO CONTACT THE LEAGUE): One of Giran’s fingers, his middle finger, is found outside the residence of the leader of the Shie Hassaikai and his index finger is found in Hosu city terminal. [BNHA Chap 223. It's unclear if the index finger was found the same day as the middle finger or the day after]

DECEMBER (THE DAY BEFORE RE-DESTRO CONTACT THE LEAGUE): One of Giran’s fingers, his ring finger, is found on the Central Highway and his thumb is found in Kamino Ward. [BNHA Chap 223]

MID-DECEMBER: Chikazoku Tomoyasu/Skeptic recovers Giran’s client list. One of Giran’s fingers, his pinkie, is found in Fukuoka. Re-Destro phones to Bubaigawara Jin/Twice and challenges Shigaraki Tomura claiming if they don't do as they say, they'll reveal to the Heroes they're in Nīgata. After having Dabi, who was at the border between Mie prefecture and Shiga prefecture, join them, the League of Villains moves in Deika City in Aichi prefecture to fight the Liberation Army. Hawks is in Osaka with Best Jeanist’s body in a bag, waiting for Dabi to contact him with no results. Toga Himiko fights Kizuki Chitose/Curious and has a Quirk awakening that allows her to use Uraraka Ochako's Quirk with whom she murders Curious and her men, Twice defeats Skeptic's puppets and overcome his trauma becoming capable to use his Quirk in full. Dabi fights Geten. Deika is destroyed. Tomura Shigaraki also have a Quirk awakening, remembers his past, beats Re-Destro and becomes the new leader of the Metahuman Liberation Army. [BNHA Chap 223-239 A month and a Half after they met up with Garaki Kyūdai]

DECEMBER: Dabi contacts Hawks who then warns the HPSC and claims from then on their communications need to be in code as he’ll be monitored. Dabi and Hawks meet at night and the latter shows him the body of with Best Jeanist. Dabi had said body identified and preserved in one of their facilities. [BNHA Chap 240, 243]

DECEMBER (ONE WEEK AFTER DEIKA'S DESTRUCTION): The paranormal liberation front is born. Shigaraki Tomura is its leader. Dabi allows Hawks to take part to that moment. Dabi is a lieutenant of the Vanguard action guerrilla warfare regiment violet. Garaki Kyūdai volunteers to give him power in exchange for him bringing him something. [BNHA Chap 240, 258 One week has passed from Deika’s destruction]

HEROES RISING ARC

DECEMBER: Eraser Head explains his students about the 'practical hero work recommendation project'. [Movie 2 We don't know when this was done, it could have been done the previous month as well]

DECEMBER: Night. The League is moving a special cargo but they're chased by the Heroes. Todoroki Enji/Endeavor manages to stop them, but it turns out the League members are clone created by Twice and the chargo is missing. Said chargo was Nine who regroups with his men and explains while the experiment on him was a success the side effects of his Quirk has worsened. [Movie 2. It could be it was the same night as the one in which the paranormal liberation front is born as it was in that night Garaki Kyudai asked the League to retrieve something for him but it seems more logical to assume it was in another night, maybe the one after it.]

DECEMBER (A WEEK AFTER): Class A goes on Nabu island, an island without Heroes in the southern of Japan, for a 'practical hero work recommendation project'. While there Midoriya meets Shimano Katsuma and Shimano Mahoro. In the evening the people of the island they have helped gift them some food. At the Hero commission, Hawks, Madame President and her underling discuss how there had been continuous acts of violence against Heroes which deprived them of their Quirk by a week. The league wonders what they were carrying. In Kyūshū Mr. Shimano is attacked by Nine who takes his Quirk and then uses his power to bring devastation to the city. Katsuma asks help against a Villain but it's actually a projection done by Mahoro. [Movie 2. It's worth to point out Hawks by this point was already introduced to the paranormal liberation front and the dialogue confirms he's doing a secret investigation but, apparently, he has no transmitters on otherwise he wouldn't openly take part to a Hero commission meeting that would be overheard by Villains. Also Shigaraki Tomura seems in perfect good health so it should be short before he were to undergo the experiment as well]

DECEMBER (THE DAY AFTER): Mr. Shimano is in coma, his things stolen so he can't be identified. Hawks and Shigaraki Tomura are both on the scene of the attack. Katsuma apologizes to Midoriya. Nine attacks Nabu island, starting from the fishing harbor. While the students fight Nine's men, Midoriya saves Katsuma and Mahoro from Nine who wants Katsuma's Quirk. Mummy gets captured but Nine pursues Midoriya. Bakugō comes to help, they both get seriously injured but their friends manage to take them and the kids away while Nine gets knocked down by the side effect of the use of his power. [Movie 2]

DECEMBER (THE DAY AFTER): The people on the island is evacuated in a safe shelter and the students fight Nine and his men. Mr. Shimano wakes up and tells Hawks how his Quirk his cell activation but works only with whose of type A and that he's from Nabu island. Hawks then learns of a boat receiving an S.O.S. message from Nabu island. Bakugō and Midoriya share One for All and beat Nine. [Movie 2]

DECEMBER (THE DAY AFTER): The rescuers come to Nabu island. A badly beaten but still alive Nine faces Shigaraki Tomura who decays him. It's unclear if Mr. Shimano came back on the island on the same day but although the program got immediately suspended Class A remained on the island until they were scheduled to leave to help the people. [Movie 2]

DECEMBER (TIME AFTER): Last day of class A on the island. As the kids leave Katsuma and Mahoro come to tell them bye. [Movie 2]

DECEMBER: Bakugō Katsuki and Todoroki Shōto (Todoroki Shōto) get an interview. [BNHA Chap 241].

FINAL WEEK OF DECEMBER (9 DAYS AFTER DEIKA'S DESTRUCTION &, LIKELY, THE DAY AFTER THE INTERVIEW): Class A has a lesson about how to deal with media in a Hero interview training. Yagi Toshinori/All Might studies the story of the past vielders of All for One and, with Nezu, says it's almost time to announce the next round of work studies. The HPSC wants students take part in a ‘practical field testing�� aka resume working studies and the teachers discuss about it in a reunion. The HPSC also contacts Endeavor telling him to train his inters the best he can. [BNHA Chap 241-242, 246. 9 days after Deika City’s destruction. The commission requesting such thing, the teachers' reunion and the commission talking with Endeavor might have happened in different days]

DECEMBER: Class A does the typical end-of-year cleaning for each of their dorm rooms then some of them discuss the earthquakes that had started happening at night. Īda Tenya, Kōda Kōji, Kirishima Eijirō, Tokoyami Fumikage and Shōji Mezō, while chasing a crystal ball, ends up on some ground softer than usual, that suddenly gives in swallowing the boys up causing them to end in an underground place. Eventually Nezu finds them and sends them back to the dormitories. [SB 5]

FINAL WEEK OF DECEMBER (A FEW DAYS LATER) CHRISTMAS EVE - DECEMBER 24: During the teachers' meeting Nezu informs everyone he decided to let the students go back home, escorted by the teachers, for the new year eve, since no suspicious behavior took place in the 4 months they've been in the dormitory. He also informs of this the police and All Might, saying it's safe toassume no student is spying for the League. Christmas Eve party at U.A. school dormitory. Todoroki Shōto invites Midoriya and Bakugō to have a work study at his father’s agency. That night, while Eri is sleeping, almost all the teachers dresses all up as Santa and bring her presents. [BNHA Chap 242. SB 5. The students had been in dormitories by 4 months]

DECEMBER 25: Eri wakes up and finds plenty of presents and all the teachers sleeping in the lounge. Delighted she tells them about the presents. [SB 5]

DECEMBER 26: Starts winter break. [Usually this is the date in which it starts in Japanese schools]

DECEMBER 31 (NEW YEAR EVE): The students, escorted by the teachers, can go home and visit their families for one day. Midoriya spends time with his mother. Jirō Kyōka goes to watch her parents performing at a livehouse. Asui Tsuyu goes back home and finds her younger siblings now capable of taking care of the house. She has a phonecall with Mongose Habuko and then, later, her parents come back home. Todoroki Shōto and Todoroki Natsuo go back at home and find Todoroki Fuyumi preparing Soba. As she has to leave they try to finish her work with disastrous results. Endeavor is attacked by a Villain and, although he defeats him, this causes him to lose all the food he bought. Uraraka Ochako goes back to her family and takes part to their local tradition of the mochi-pounding event. [BNHA Chap 243 SB 5]

DECEMBER: Shigaraki Tomura hands his body to Garaki Kyudai so that the latter will make it even more powerful, although it'll take 4 months to be complete. Hawks learns in 4 months Shigaraki Tomura's body will be complete and the Meta Liberation Army will attack. [BNHA 245-246 It's unclear when exactly this happens, the visual might suggest Shigaraki started being experimented over on the 1st of JANUARY but, since Hawks warns Endeavor about the attack coming in 4 months on the 1st of JANUARY, it might be that the scene we see is only a flashback]

Perhaps the MLA, being convinced that the Heartless are the product of one villain’s quirk, (like most people are at first), start trying to capture and experiment on Heartless with the goal of tracking down whoever is creating them.

After all, creating so many thousands of expendable minions with seemingly no range limit? That’s an incredibly powerful Metahuman ability. Surely, someone with such power belongs with the Meta Liberation Army!

Now that sounds exactly like their level of stupid, considering their plans for Twice in canon.

Season 4 Episode 24

So, this episode is what I’ve been waiting for legit a year now. We have Hawks officially!!!! Welcome my favorite bird boy to the MHA cast! I’m going to make a post of just Hawks after this, but I figured y’all wouldn’t want to see over 50 pics in this post lol! It was a great episode after all, with the anime already hinting at Hawks’ weird actions, not to mention the Dabi sighting! Something we haven’t had in so so long! Plus the first reference to the Meta-Liberation Front, hell yeah! Also, I heard some new underscores which were awesome, and this episode did a great job building us up to the chaos that’s about to break loose. It is sad to think that season 4 is coming to a close soon, but ya know we still have the manga! (haha haha. Kill me) Also, can I mention how the studio draws dogs??? Cause it’s hilarious!?? They never look like dogs and I live for it (I’ll have to find a pic of the dog from the recent movie to show you what I’m talking more, it’s amazing) I hope all y’all liked this episode as much as I did and are hyped for High-End next episode!!
