Simmons (from outside): Hey, Donut! Are you in there? Lopez built you a motorcycle! (The motor noises cease.) We broke it.
Donut: Hey! Yeah, Simmons! I'm inside the Blue Base! Guess what? Blue Team got a new soldier!
Simmons: What? They sent another team member? (approaches the base’s entrance) Why would they do that? That doesn't make any sense. (notices the Meta inside) OH, FUCK!!! (quickly darts off) Welcometotheneighborhood, seeyoulater!

Rewatching Aos again and I'm in the middle of season 1:
the first season is a Lot better than I remember, I do not understand why people hate on it.
The scene where Phil figures out who the Clairvoyant is. You can see it in his eyess
There are so many little moments that jump out a lot more if you keep in mind what's about to happen
How Ward was suprised when Phil told him that May was a mole
Or how ofcourse it was Garrett that told Ward that Hand was the Clairvoyant
Also you can see the moment Ward knew that he has to get rid of Hand (it was when she explicitly mentioned that she and Phil are the highest ranking agents left)
Also was the scene were Simmons and Trip were alone in the lab, just found out that one of them might be a double agent and there was a knife - was that foreshadowing to one of the most epic scenes ever?
Don't even get me started on Simmons dramatically saying "I'm getting better at it" in regards to lying

On Octavian and his powers...
This is your daily reminder that just because Hazel made Octavian out to be a con-man doesn't mean that he's actually faking. If the transition from PJO to HoO should have taught us something is that first person narrating is subjective and therefore unreliable.
Leo looks goofy and happy from everyone else's pov, but insecure and sad from his own. Percy looks dominative and dangerous from other people's pov, but sassy and unserious from his own and Annabeth's. Clarisse and Nico were heavily disliked and seen as mindlessly violent and annoying from Percy's pov during PJO, but were much more likable when described from the pov of a character that was their friend.
With this method, Rick has shown us time and time again that first person pov is unreliable and the feelings a character had for another will affect the way they think of them. Hazel heavily dislikes Octavian because he basically admitted to knowing her secret and was blackmailing her with it, so obviously Hazel wouldn't want to acknowledge it if Octavian had very real, objectively useful capabilities. That doesn't mean the augur is faking his auguries.
Finally, a con-man wouldn't be able to know such a well kept secret (being brought back from the dead) when most others don't know or view it as a rumor. A con-man wouldn't be able to change the weather just above his temple only for no other reason but dramatic effect. And a con-man wouldn't be able to fool Reyna and her greyhounds that can literally tell when someone's lying and are trained to attack liars.
Octavian can foresee the future with his auguries. He's not faking. He would have been caught by now if he was, because Reyna wouldn't just give such power away to people without first checking that they are actually meant to have it. There's no way she didn't make Octavian declare his abilities as an augur infront of her dogs to be sure he's not lying, so how about we stop with the unreasonable hatred towards the very real augur?

"[Fitzjames'] public demeanor, which was always an easy mix of self-effacing humor and firm command, remained the same, but in private with only Crozier in attendance, Fitzjames spoke less, smiled less frequently, and too often looked distracted and miserable. For a melancholy man like Crozier, the signs were obvious. At times it was like staring into a looking glass, except for the fact that the melancholy countenance staring back was a proper lisping English gentleman rather than an Irish nobody."
The Terror, Dan Simmons

Cuts to Valhalla. Lopez is working on another motorcycle, humming to himself. Simmons is seen in the background charging in.
Simmons: Loooopeeeezzz!!
Lopez: ¡No! Acabo de arreglar éste. Éste es mío. ¡Aléjate![No! I just fixed this. This one is mine. Stay away!]
Simmons: He's here! He's here!
Lopez: ¿Quién?[Who?]
Simmons: The bad guy! The guy who wants to kill us!
Lopez: Tendrás que ser más específico que eso.[You're going to have to be more specific than that.]
A grenade shot by the Meta flies by and crashes into the Red Base.
Simmons: The Meta! He's here!
Lopez: ¿Qué? ¿Aquí? Pensé que estaba muerto.[What? Here? I thought he was dead.]
Simmons: Oh geez, look out!
Simmons and Lopez duck. A Bruteshot grenade flies overhead.
Simmons: Son of a bitch!
Lopez: ¡Madre de Dios!
Simmons: Lopez! We need some big guns.
Lopez: Okay. Eso podré hacerlo.[Okay. That I can do.]
Simmons: I'll grab the rocket launcher. (picks up rocket launcher while Lopez goes inside the base) Just grab whatever you can, Lopez! I'm trained to handle this weapon. (stands by the motorcycle Lopez was fixing) Lopez? Anybody?
The Meta is seen approaching the entrance which Lopez had entered in. He pauses upon seeing Simmons.
Simmons: All right, you bastard! Prepare to get “Simmonsized!”
Simmons fires a rocket, which hits the motorcycle. Simmons and the Meta watch as the vehicle flies over the Meta and lands to the side of the base, on fire. The Meta growls and turns his attention back to Simmons.
Simmons: Well, fuck me.
Missiles crash into the Meta from the base’s entrance. He flees from them.
Lopez: (walks outside the base with a missile pod)¿En serio dijiste "Simmonsized"? [Did you seriously just say “Simmonsized?”]
Simmons: Lopez!
Lopez: Cierre la cogida. Usted rompió mi motocicleta de nuevo.[Shut the fuck up. You broke my motorcycle again.]

My headcanon for Skimmons, especially s06 Skimmons, is that they sort of always had queer platonic feelings for each other, Daisy's leaning more and more on romantic, until she eventually admitted to herself that she was in love with Jemma, when they had to live together for a year in space. However, she understood that Jemma's true love lied with Fitz. So she just made the most of the time they had together, but never actually confessed. This would explain the way she looks at Jemma, when Simmons tells Daisy she's had bad luck in the love department during Fear and Loathing in the Planet of Kitson, the whole "connection to you" thing – which has, in fact, been taken as a romantic/even sexual avance by the alien sitting in Jemma's place –, the fact that she replies only with "I love you too" to "You're my best friend". Not to mention, the way she stammers, a few episodes later: "No Simmons, I... I can't leave you" – as if she was pondering the possibility of saying something else, but eventually opted for the easier option.

for the character ask, daisy johnson!
Thank you so much for the ask! 💜 I love any excuse to talk about Daisy Johnson.
First impression: I'm trying to squeeze my brain here, but all I remember was trying not to like her at first because I knew se was a double agent for the Rising Tide. It goes without saying I failed miserably about three episodes in.
Impression now: She is my favourite character of all time.
Favorite moment: I really can't choose, but one that comes to mind was the final fight of season 5. I think it's a very underrated fight scene, because it's the end of the world, her dad is dying, she has been recently betrayed and tortured by her friend, and she still goes into battle BY HERSELF against Talbot, and if that wasn't bad enough, when she's about to die a horrible death she realises that the only way she can save the world is if she takes the serum and basically condemns the person she loves most to his death. It's so heartbreaking and poetic, but very cool to watch, and I just love so much it, idk.
Idea for a story: This is angsty but I would love to read something where the events of 5.14 are properly dealt with. May watches the security cameras and goes ballistic on Fitz, and Daisy gets time to grieve and heal. They get Coulson back and he's horrified, and Jemma is so conflicted but she's there for her best friend.
Unpopular opinion: Since apparently I can't stop thinking about season 5, here's some more. I think she actually did a good job of leading the team in season 5b. Especially if you consider that she's been recently tortured, her family doesn't seem to care, she has no experience, and hasn't gotten a good nights sleep in about 5 years. She might be tough, but hello? IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD?? You have to be at least a little bossy if you wanna make it through that. Also if you're gonna be a baby and call her a hard ass maybe you should have thought twice before joining SHIELD.
Favorite relationship: If it's romantic, then Sousa. I love them so so much, they're literally perfect and despite my obvious outrage at season 5, I will forever love the AoS writers for somehow pulling that off. As for platonic relationships, I'd say May. She's the perfect mother figure for her, and I love the parallels between them. I think Daisy has the best relationships in general, but this one is my favourite. Honourable mentions go to Coulson for being the most unhinged dad ever, and to Jemma for being the sweetest friend in the earlier seasons.
Favorite headcanon: before she goes off to space at the end of season 7, she rebuilds Afterlife with the help of Sousa and Kora. I've said this before, but I think they are actually the perfect team to do this. Kora has lived in Afterlife her whole life, she's seen Jiaying help people go through Terrigenesis, and she's been though it herself in a much healthier and safer environment than Daisy. Sousa is reasonable and calm, which are good qualities to have when you're helping someone who's terrified and potentially dangerous. He has experience leading people, which I think would make him a good mentor for the Inhumans. So Kora has the experience, Sousa has the qualities, and in my opinion, Daisy has a nice combination of the two. She has a different and much more horrifying experience of Terrigenesis that people who accidentally go though it can relate to, and she has spent years exploring and controlling her powers, so she knows what the deal is. And she's also a good leader, so where Sousa can help the Inhumans pre-Terrigenesis, she can train them after if that's what they want. Because that's another thing, SHIELD may be funding Afterlife, but they've learnt their lesson and they're not sticking their noses where they shouldn't. They accept new recruits and help train them, but if that's not what the Inhumans want, then SHIELD helps them get settled back into their normal lives. Anyways this got long but it's one of my favourite headcanons, so there you go.
Thank you so much for the ask! Sorry for rambling, but I have a lot to say about Daisy. 🌼💛
Character Asks.
