🖋 inky drips ✒️ This little abstract sketchbook page was one I did as part of #messypages a class from @getmessyartjournal hosted by @tanyaleekalher its a fantastic class, highly suggest you do it! I started this page by laying down some cheap acrylics and letting them dry, then adding two more colour on top and spritzing them with water so they would run down the page, as well as some of that gorgeous purple acrylic ink that I did the same thing with. I also added some little dots of gold acrylic ink after the rest of the page dried. Once that was done I went in with my Pitt artist pens (they’re on my list of things to use up) and a white Posca pen and added some leafy doodles to finish off the page. QOTD: Do you celebrate Passover or Easter? Passover starts tonight at sundown and looking for kosher for Passover matzah was a lot harder than I was expecting this year. More work from the #messypages class taught by @tanyaleekahler at @getmessyartjournal using some mixed media techniques. I used some @carandache neocolour II crayons to create a watercolour background before sketching out this girl and going to work with some heavy body acrylic, liquid acrylic, acrylic ink, metallic crayon...yep! You heard me right, just plain old crayola metallic crayon, a Posca pen and a white pastel chalk pencil which are great for sketching on dark backgrounds of canvas by the way…do recommend. She has a very mermaid-y kind of look to me, what do you think? Here’s my last page from #messypages by @tanyaleekahler @getmessyartjournal that I created using techniques I learned in the class and put to use after it locked me out. this was a collage mixed media page using a cut out sketch inspired by @studio.katie (mine is a bit sad/in need of improvement but it’s ok it’s an art journal after all) I originally made some marks of oil pastel and brushed watercolour ink on top of it making the background, after sketching and cutting out the girl I took some Matte medium and brushed it down sticking it to the page, it’s a pretty simple page but I like it, especially since I experimented more with oil pastels and ways to use them!
