What if I died right now?

Ok but no, seriously. I cried and screamed and hit things. I think I could die happy now, best Smissmas present, happiest holidays!

Not gonna talk about the whole plot of the comic because I was in shock for most of it with the occasional screaming whenever a character appeared, BUT here are some things I loved:

• Zhanna's prosthetic hand and her and Soldier's children.

• Pyro is SO HAPPY to see Engie again.

• My man Tavish having a moment.

• This interaction after Scout's whole speech, it's great.

• Miss Pauling is not doing well, girl can't have a win even when she does.

• The most girl boss ever, like oh wow I mean fucking damn!

• Beautiful evil woman <3

• Everyone flabbergasted and horrified by what they've witnessed.

• THIS moment of Pyro going 'OH SHIT-'

• Medic and Heavy comforting each other (AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH).

• He actually adopted her, I didn't dare hope for something this wholesome but I guess we actually got it.

• Here you can see the moment Bidwell's heart stopped, he was legally dead for three seconds, I checked.

• Heavy converting won to US dollars on the spot (that's the hottest thing I've ever seen), and that beard looks VERY good on him.

And the team Smissmas reunion near the end might have actually killed me.

• Scout is the most Jerma he's ever looked.

• Spy almost saying "I'm your grandfather" (I swear he was gonna) and taking off his mask.

• Everyone bringing their families + the Eyelander, Archimedes, Medic's baboon, and Pyro's fucking dog.

• Merasmus and Tome Jones together forever in the afterlife, love wins.

• Medic's gonna cut the turkey with the bonesaw (smart choice).

I am over the moon and my eyes are burning. Merry Smissmas am I right?

Here we have Pure seeing Brutal in his full demon form (as well as his full powers) for the first time. I would say their relationship is rather...complicated.

And yes, this piece was definitely inspired by VivziePop's Helluva Boss series. But unlike in Helluva Boss, these two chaps didn't live to tell the story.

tf2 comic 7 just came out.

I've been playing this game for coming on 12 years now. it's one of the few aspects of my life that hasn't left or changed. I'm trans now. I went through school, college. I've seen things and people in my life come and go, but not tf2. not yet.

this comic feels like a sendoff. valve has shut the doors on the lore, and who knows if they'll officially stop updating the game. at this point, though? I wouldn't mind if they did. it's been a long time. even if the community didn't keep it running for years - and I know they will - I think I'd be okay. I've had my time with the game. new things will come, my life will change again, and I will cherish the memories I had, tucked into the corners of my mind.

I love this old game. merry smissmas, everyone.

A Smissmas Miracle

So Team Fortress Comic 7 has finally dropped and I can't even begin to explain how emotional this is making me feel right now.

Team Fortress 2 was not my first internet hyperfixation (that was Kirby lol) but tf2 came into my life during a VERY tumultuous period. I was 13 and fighting 3 mental illnesses all at once you know the kind of thing. I was even suicidal. It was bad. But tf2 is the thing that managed to keep me going. Playing it, watching it, having fun! Genuine fun! I'm not very good at shooters because I can't aim precisely very well on the spot, but in tf2 I can let myself play a healer or a supporter or play someone who doesn't have to aim exact to be good, and that's a lot of the classes! and even as I aged and my interests drifted back and forth I always come back to this silly little shooter. Every time. Even when I had to stop playing for hand injury reasons. Even when I had to stop playing because my computer got too old to run it very well. Even when I moved on from the community servers I used to have a home in and the content creators I used to watch. I would always come back. I would always enjoy being able to experience this game with everyone else, even if I was in a state where I couldn't experience it directly anymore. And then this comic ends with not just a happy ending, but specifically with a welcome to you. The reader. The framing could make it be someone else but...we all know that's not the true intent, haha. Because I know I'm not the only one. I know this game has done so much for so many people for so many years. If people didn't love it why would we have been so outraged at the lack of updates? Lack of information from the developers? At the bot crisis? We were upset watching the thing we love slowly crumble away with nothing we could do about it! And after such a long time, after a period of the game's original creators having to finish this in their free time as they also move on to other things. After a seven year wait. They make this their message:

"We're glad you're still here. We couldn't do it without you."

And I'm glad too. I'm glad I'm still here. I'm glad I could be one of the tiniest cogs in the grand machine that makes people happy with the funny hat-wearing war criminals. I'm glad we're all still here. And even if this ends up being one of the last updates the game ever gets, I'm glad we could all share in this together. Here's to seventeen years of memories, everyone! And, if we're lucky, maybe seventeen more!

im gonna cry i did not fucking expect that. i love this game i love this franchise and its just. oh my god

what a fucking trip. i still cant believe it finally happened. i was fully convinced we would just never get the ending comic, but here it is.

as much as i felt like there was still a lot missing and unanswered, some parts undeveloped imo and was just generally never explored (lack of mention of the conaghers for my taste, the aftermath of whatever happened to the rest of the tfc team, info on the other mercs, and a lot more), i dont really think they couldve given us a more satisfying ending. not with countless speculations and expectations that built up in all the years since the last one. it's short and sweet and just a big 'thank you' to the community. while i wish we couldve known more, had more than a few years later timeskip to how the mercs are all doing and a small exposition as to why this is all even happening (the gravel wars), i think im satisfied enough to just have some form of closure. its been a long time coming, and we finally got it.
