It really is unfortunate that most of my personal work is completely indie and self-published, because I really am someone who gets a lot from an editor.

just throwing some 2 cents in here, don’t buy the egg figurines until we know that money is going to support at least the admins that brought those characters to life.

(it shouldn’t be just them, it’s likely those things will be around $25 usd each (and those prices might be way higher with shipping), those profits should be used to pay actors, builders, artists, writers, etc.)

this is like the one thing we as a community can actually do to show our solidarity with those workers. demand that they get some kind of compensation and information about what the fuck is going on, or we won’t buy the merch. simple. be like “we won’t financially support this project, if you don’t compensate and inform the workers past or current.”

like imagine seeing a character that you gave your everything into. that you spent hours constructing. that you didn’t sleep so that you could develop them. turned into a piece of merch that you don’t see a cent of the revenue of nor did you even get paid to play. like that’s worse than actors. at least they get some type of pay while they’re acting.

but yeah, trust me, i want those little guys too. in fact my first reaction was “OH MY GOD LET ME THROW MONEY AT THIS” but we shouldn’t. with the current situation, it just feels wrong. ya know?

I'm kind of confused. I thought you weren't really invested in Ranboo or this side of Twitch before hearing about Generation Loss. Why are you upset about him hyping a project up that you weren't even invested in? Were you under the impression he had experience doing something like this before? Did you know he used to be a minecraft streamer with no experience in live events like this going in?

If y'all thought it was overhyped, it almost sounds like you did this to yourselves. Of course Ranboo was excited about it and was hyping it up. He wrote the damn thing, and it featured all of his favorite tropes. It was unlike anything HE had ever done before, and the fact that it wasn't a complete disaster is an achievement in and of itself.

I agree the merch sucks, though haha. All of the money is going back into production, so at least he's not making money personally by selling it.

for me personally it's how some people i follow are treating this like the most perfect stream in the world and dismissing any crit at all. i've followed these people for a while so i've heard about gen loss on and off for a while but i really didn't care until recently, but from the way the people were talking about this leading up to it made it sound like it would be way cooler than it was. you are right in that he's fair to hype it up because it was impressive that it didn't completely implode tho.
