Wynonna/Mercedes & Nicole/Waverly couple-brotp headcanons?

Sure! Thanks for the request. Wyndolls was my OTP but Wyncedes is a nice alternative in my book. Full disclosure: I stopped watching & removed myself from that fandom bc Andras wrote racist storylines for her poc characters and characterized them in racist ways. I’m not judging you personally, I just want to be honest about why it’s not my jam anymore. That said, I still do headcanons for the characters so I still can answer this request! 

The thing about neither Mercedes nor Nicole having living family is that consequently, they are forced to spend every holiday with the Earps. They love them and all, but your sanity disappears quickly after the first four hours. Thank God they have each other through all the chaos!

Waverly and Mercedes have a monthly shopping/mani-pedi date (of course they gush about their gfs the whole time) while Wynonna and Nicole grab drinks and talk about how cute their gfs are 

The four of them have a wlw group chat and Jeremy finds it incredibly unfair that he’s not invited 

Wynonna can’t cook so when Mercedes stays over, she tries to schedule it on the same days Nicole sleeps at the Homestead so she can guarantee an edible breakfast in the morning 

Related: Waverly is the only one who can get all four coffee orders right so when she grabs them for Nicole, Wynonna, and herself at the station, she always swings by Mercedes’ place to drop off hers even though it’s out of the way

When they drive somewhere as a group of four: Wynonna drives, Mercedes rides shotgun (and controls the radio bc regardless of her taste, Wynonna finds it hard to say no to her gf), and Waverly & Nicole snuggle up in the backseat

i know wyndoc is a popular ship but they are toxic as fuck

i honestly dont know why everyone ships wynonna with this man. doc has lied to and betrayed wynonna multiple times but because they have a kid together and he "loves" her its ok... smh.

plus he was literally best friends with her great great grandfather...i mean will never understand it.

i hate it so much and i know they're sadly gonna be endgame especially with dolls gone.

its so disappointing that they have this strong female character keep going back to man who keeps hurting her and they play it off as “romantic”

btw i like doc. knowing he’s toxic for wynonna doesnt mean i hate him. also my hatred for wyndoc has nothing to do with my love for wyndolls. dolls is dead and gone. wynonna still deserves better than doc.

Headcanons for Wynonna discovering her feelings for Mercedes? And do you know anyone who writes Wyncedes besides the few on AO3? It's been like finding a needle in a haystack for me lol.

Unfortunately I don’t read fanfiction for Wynonna Earp anymore, so I can’t give any recs. I think @savethelastdan might post a tiny ficlet-style response to an ask, perhaps?

I’m not judging you personally, I just want to be honest about why it’s not my jam anymore. That said, I still do headcanons for the characters (esp. Wyndolls and AUs), so I still can answer this request! 

It’s not obvious right away what’s going on. Wynonna has always known she’s bi; it’s just another one of those details about her that feels wrong in a place like Purgatory. Mercedes is like her only sort-of-real friend, so of course she feel closer to her than most people. 

Being bi and attracted to Mercedes wasn’t quite so obvious to Wynonna because, well, Mercedes is Mercedes. She’s the type of best friend who gushes about which member of Boyz II Men is the hottest (her vote goes to Shawn Stockman, but Wynonna’s always been a Wanya girl) and highlights s*x tip articles in Cosmopolitan and complains that she only wears thongs because boys don't take girls in granny panties on second dates. So what if her perfume smells like summertime and her laugh is like a suprise day off from school? 

Wynonna assumes the day they finally kiss will be the classic cliche: too many wine coolers + dancing too close + a too crowded bar with too many rainbow lights. Instead, it’s behind the gym at school, smoking cigarettes more to see if anyone will catch them than because they actually want to. Wynonna complains about how gross it tastes, and Mercedes leans in with a “Here, this’ll help.” Her lip gloss is grape soda flavored, and Wynonna can’t help but cough. Help, indeed.  

They don’t kiss again and they don’t talk about the kiss, and she doesn’t know which is worse...until ten years later. She’s the Heir and Mercedes is still Mercedes, but with some added trauma. They’re shooting the sh*t, trying not to mention the fact that her friend’s face is magically back to normal, and Mercedes brings it up like it’s some kind of teenage sleepover prank or pep rally anecdote. “Too bad that never went anywhere,” she smirks. Wynonna knows she’s probably joking, but being brave & stupid is kind of her autopilot nowadays. So she replies, “You know what they say, better late than never.”

headcanons on how the Earp gang would be like in Hogwarts

oof okay well.  as far as houses go, i am a big proponent of it’s what you value, not necessarily what you are (i mean, that’s how you got the og trio: if it was based off of what you are, then harry would be in slytherin, hermione would be in ravenclaw, and ron would be in hufflepuff- but its what you value, so they all ended up in gryffindor)

with that said

wynonna would be in slytherin, no doubt

doc would actually be in gryffindor

yes, yes, he is the definition of slytherin, but he values bravery and courage (hence, his best friend/boyfriend (?) wyatt earp and his girlfriend/baby mama wynonna earp)

waverly gonna be in gryffindor too

nicole is such a hufflepuff.  i cant even shes so hufflepuff

dolls will also be hufflepuff; he’s a sweety inside 

jeremy is ravenclaw.  there is no argument on this

robin is hufflepuff

and mercedes? you can fight me if you don’t think she’s in slytherin with wynonna raising some hell

so we got gryffindor: waverly and doc

ravenclaw: jeremy

hufflepuff: nicole, dolls, and robin

slytherin: wynonna and mercedes

now all of them together is a sight to see because usually houses just hang out with their own house; that’s just how its always been

but earp gang doesn’t care

they needed a place to chill though since they’re all in different houses and can’t go to a common room so wynonna actually figured out the whomping willow

she’s a reckless little shit, no doubt, which is generally a gryffindor thing, but she’s a reckless shit when she be scheming (she’s cunning and witty and that’s also what she values how would she not be a slytherin im sorry)

so she knew something was going on with the tree

she had waverly and jeremy figure out the patterns between the whomping of the willow (which was hard because it changed its tactics if you tried to get to the center but they managed some algorithm that made no sense to wynonna

then she made doc run to the center and look for something to stop the tree

“it would perhaps be helpful if i could know what it is that i am looking for”

“i don’t know! something to make the tree stop!”

“wynonna, i do not believe that is exactly what i meant by helpful”

waverly finally cutting in now, “maybe try pressing against the trunk, see if there’s any kind of pressure point or something”

so docs just pushing against random points on the trunk and eventually he’s just “i do not believe that there is anything here, and how is it exactly that i am supposed to escape this tree now?”

“same way you came in!  but keep looking!”

instead, doc tries to come back out and gets knocked by a branch backwards into the trunk

his back hits a knot on the trunk and suddenly the tree just freezes

“YES I TOLD YOU GUYS YOU THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY”

anyways, from this point forward, that’s where the seven of them hang

everyone walks by and is so confused because how? and the professors don’t give them detention or yell at them or anything because they’re just as confused as to how they managed that one

they just chill out against the trunk of the tree; wynonna, doc, and mercedes plan ways that they can fuck shit up 

dolls just kind of watches them and he’s super amused but pretends to disapprove

he talks about quidditch a lot with nicole who you know is the best chaser hufflepuff has ever seen and dolls is quite the beater

waverly and jeremy read and study a lot 

but when they aren’t, jeremy and robin are definitely listening to jazz music together and being cute 

and waverly and nicole are literally on top of each other

there’s a couple times when wynonna has to yell at them because they kind of forget they’re not the only ones under the tree and also they’re under a tree so people walking by can see them too

“oi, haughtshit, cool it there.  that’s my sister you’re mauling.”

and then they both get a little red and embarrassed and stop until five minutes later when you know they forget why they were embarrassed and waverly is pulling nicole toward her by her tie and waverly’s back is flat on the ground and nicole’s hands are on waverly’s abs underneath her shirt-

“HAUGHT.  IM RIGHT HERE”
