The only one I really need left is the Final War Terrarium one. Ok I do need that one with him on the tree as well but it's mad ugly I HATE that figure because it means I have to get the Kirby one as well to complete it, otherwise, the rest are pretty much from the gachapon capsules which are a lot lower quality to be honest. And the MK paper lantern but I can honestly put a bunch of the rest in the back burner for now

found a decent deal at mercari for the 2023 jp mean girls musical pamphlet (it has some minus but the main content is pretty intact so alls good) but honestly i do miss erika's cady and nicole's regina (my beloveds)

it also has like casts interviews section with cady, janis, the plastics actors and they all talked about backstage tid bits and how one of them bought pink jersey because on rehearsals they hv "on wednesday we wear pink" rules and honestly it's rly cuteeee <3

erika previously had seen mean girls musical back in 2018/19 when she was in new york for another unrelated job and it's kinda insane fast forward in 2023 she ended up got casted as cady LOL (i always wonder which regina she saw tho LMAO)

i found it on buyee! i specifically found it on JP mercari, if you know what to search for then you can find some insane deals. for example IDK if i said the price but i found the copy i got for $19 USD + international shipping made it around the $37-$40 range?

compared to prices on ebay for the exact same thing it's often worth it to pay the international shipping fees because even with those it'll often be cheaper.

Hi! I have many but some might be more or less effective depending on Where outside of the US you are. As I am Canadian, my options are a lot more feasible than say... someone from Europe yk. (god shipping fees are insane)

I will say, a huge chunk of my collection was bought off of Mercari or American Ebay, or American stores like BigBadToyStore and I just wanna make that clear. Two of these sites ship to places outside of the US still, but it's so much cheaper to get it sent to American friend and then over to me.

This got longer than I thought whoops under the cut it goes.

Anyway onto the actual recs. As always I have to shill Myfigurecollection.net. You can sort by the exact figure you're looking for, local currency, free or paid shipping and it's really handy. On top of that you can interact with the sites database or forum features! Make a wishlist or a list of a fave character's merch you want. Track what you've ordered already and when it's expected to arrive or be released from preorder. Find forum posts from your region about people discussing good places to buy from and so much more. It's such a huge and amazing tool for someone into collecting so long as you can get over the UI. Personally I've never found issues with it but I'm used to how older websites work anyway.

(Here is me sorting by European currency. There are so many euro sellers im jealous.)

Pros of mfc:

• Figures are usually in good condition and can even be mint in box. (you can even sort by condition, wow!)

• users are polite and can be negotiated with for a better deal oftentimes

Cons of mfc:

• This is not a site that focuses solely on selling like ebay, it's more like an ad section in the newspaper

• You have to trust who you are buying from as there's no 'insurance' so to speak. If you get scammed, there's no refunds and mods won't help you aside from banning the user, unlike actual buy and sell sites which have policies or insurance.

Next up is Zenmarket. This is a proxy site that allows me to buy straight from japan! What's handy about it is that you can browse multiple japanese sites straight within zenmarket's site. I can pick up items from Amazon.jp, JP Mercari, and Yahoo Auctions and have 'em all in one cart! You can also paste links into a special search bar if you've found a specific item you'd like to buy from a JP site. I personally browse JP Mercari and Rakuma the most. I like second-hand figures and both these places have good deals since they're flea-market esque sites. Yahoo!Auctions I've only bought one thing from, and I haven't had a *bad* experience per se, I just don't like auctions and buyout prices lol. Always so pricey... but I'm sure there's good deals to be had if you're willing to do a bidding battle. Pro tip! Search with japanese terms to get better results.

Zenmarket hasn't let me down before. They're speedy, and all my stuff has been well packed.

Pros:

• Can get the best base prices buying straight from japan

• Super simple layout and bundling orders is really easy

•Items can be held in their warehouse for 45 days if something happens/you wanna wait before bundling it into a package. You can also pay to extend this time.

•Quick shipping from the warehouse

•probably more lol

Cons

•If you're not american, shipping is gonna be like $30 CAD lol. At least you can fit multiple items in one box...? I got 2 books and several t-shirts without going over the small packet limit. i haven't used zennarket express, but if your shit is very small i think its about 10 dollars cheaper.

• ¥300 yen fee per item batch. So if I get a figure and book from Mercari I'll have to pay a ¥300 fee. If I then add something from Amazon or a different site other than Mercari to my cart, I'll have to pay another ¥300 fee. I don't mind this as its like what. 3 dollars? but if you're buying a lot from all over it can potentially rack up shit. also ppl just dont like fees so it's a con.

I also of course use ebay. I feel like I don't need to get into how ebay works so onto BRAND NEW MERCH CONDITION sitessss

I used to use Aitai Kuji but their selection of stuff is kinda mid these days so I stray from it. I've had good experiences with Ukiyo Kumo but it has a similar problem with Aitai Kuji.

Another site for brand-new merch is Meccha Japan, but holy fuck I hate their shipping and prices. If something becomes low in stock they jack up the price and label it as 'rare' or ultra rare or whatever and I find that irritating. They also use fedex and dhl for shipping which means fun fees woohoo yipee!!! i had to spend over 100 dollars to get my package wrangled from their graaaaaasp!!!!

So yeah, sorry for lame New Merch recs, I don't really buy brand-new figures since P5 hasn't released anything lately. I bought the Hello!Goodsmile mona and joker from BigBadToystore and I think shipping was only 15 usd? I like BBTS but if you're not american they're kinda slow in the shipping department.

i see a lot of confusion and outrage about these sort of requirements before being able to purchase this doll Which is fair since it is very unusual to demand these sorts of things when it comes to selling merch in western fan spheres so i wanted to explain a little and share some niche knowledge about a niche community:)

this sort of thing is really not uncommon when it comes to the sale of attribute dolls within the cotton doll community and basically it’s... just to prevent scalping. rip. scalping is a huge issue in the cotton doll community, any quick scroll through mercari jp will prove it. dolls bought directly from the doll creator are typically anywhere between 14-24 usd, but resale prices often shoot between 60-150 usd. it’s nuts. these types of dolls are entirely fan made and fan funded, which is why they’re so cheap and why the doll creators especially tend to hate scalpers.

obv the op of the twitter post isn’t the doll creator or anything like that though haha, it seems like they’re just reselling so maybe this is a little off topic. i just wanted to share 

here’s an example of a resell on mercari jp, exact same doll just to compare and to get an idea of how bad the original base price has been inflated. Insanity

Do you know any international retailers or shopping services to buy girly clothes? It's hard finding girly communities online T.T

There are some Girly brands that have international storefronts, such as Liz Lisa, and there are some storefronts that partner with shopping services like Buyee for international shipments as well. Another great option is Taobao, as there are many storefronts there that sell cute Girly clothing, and it can be quite inexpensive. I'm currently working on updating the shoplist for this blog with more Taobao recommendations, actually! I also will likely make a post on how to navigate Taobao, as it can be quite daunting at first glance.

It all honestly depends on what you are looking for.

If you're looking for communities that sell Girly clothing, secondhand marketplaces are often your best bet! They can also be useful if you do not have the means to order from brands directly, as the shipping fees in particular can be quite hefty, depending on where you live.

These are the two that come to mind off the top of my head:

Keimarket offers secondhand Jfashion in general (Girly included!) from sellers all over the world.

Madame Chocolat, which is based in Spain, has a secondhand section that occasionally has huge drops of clothes all at once to choose from.

I would recommend being very cautious on secondhand sites like Mercari (both US and JP) and Depop, as there are sellers on those two sites in particular who sell brand items at insanely high markups. The main perpetrators of this are typically easy to spot, as they are clearly not selling their secondhand clothes, but rather, buying from brands and then reselling the clothes at a price higher than what they paid for and what the clothing is worth.

While Girly can be an expensive style to get into if you're looking to buy brand-only, prices like $300+ for a sold-out dress that started out at $90, and will likely be restocked at some point, is typically not a fair range of pricing.

Of course, sometimes there are cases where that price would be accurate, such as a very old, or very limited release that will not be ever restocked, but listings that fall under those categories in earnest are not all that common.

I bought 2 boxes of the Kirby Bakery Cafe yesterday (6 were left, I bought 2, and the full set option was gone, meaning there is a 1/6 chance that Meta Knight was in there, if he wasn't in the 2 that were already gone). i wasn't counting plushes! according to mfc, there are 3 gks, 3 trading figures and 1 nendo out right now! as for where they are, at least the nendo is available on amiami preowned rn but arjuna merch seems to be pretty hard to find secondhand in general, i couldn't even find a previous listing for p much anything but the nendo on mandarake.

if it was real it'd be a tragedy on par with waver's missed birthday, but i have good news for you anon and that's that arjuna actually has 7 figures so far with an 8th announced! granted most are trading figures (and if they aren't they're a garage kit but gks aren't quite as hard to find as it seems. mandarake my beloved.) but one's part of the sanrio collab so. lucky bastard. god i wish they produced more of those. that being said, that 8th figure is sorta kinda in production hell rn but since karna finally got a prototype a couple months ago after 2 years and they were announced together i'm keeping my hopes up for arjuna being not that far beyond the horizon. also karna isn't even painted yet but looks gorgeous and my only scale is from the altair line which means i can personally attest to the quality so at least he'll almost definitely be worth the wait.
