Checklist time:

This is yet another diabetic Palestinian scam (a common scam going around that’s used to prey on your sympathy during a genocide)

Their current “fundraiser” has a goal of $700; real Palestinian fundraisers are tens of thousands of dollars

They say their name is “Tasneem Salim”, but the name used for the empty PayPal account linked in their post (which is always included in scams like these) is “Masudi Salim”

They’ve already been called out as a scammer

Never trust a donation post linked to an empty PayPal account unless said link has been verified by a trusted source, especially if their name doesn’t match the one for the account

My boyfriend gave me enough confidence to draw whatever I want and now I’m the most insufferable person anyway. Also ignore the ramble that I’m accompanying with the drawing just trying to get back in the hang of writing

The pair finally made their way back into one of the save rooms. The most recent stretch of exploration had been brutal. Hallways were flooded with zombies that they constantly pushed away from themselves and peeled off of each other. The zombies were relentless. To make things worse, Mack was scared half to death when two had broken into the mansion through the windows, the piercing sound of shattered glass overwhelming their sensitive ears. It wasn’t new for them to have to deal with the constant overstimulating environment of the mansion, but that had brought them to a near breaking point.

Luckily for now that was all over. The two of them were speckled with blood; however there were bottles of what they assumed was water inside one of the cabinets, which the two used to not feel as filthy. The remainder was for treating their wounds. While the whole situation was horrific, Mack found treating each other worked wonders for their nerves. There was something about the tender intimacy that came with looking out for one another whilst trying to do so as carefully and painlessly as possible.

Mack was sat on the bed as Wesker kneeled slightly to their level, his brows furrowed in focus as he cleaned the wounds on the bridge of his partner’s nose. The two hadn’t had much time to really breathe or even talk much than occasional quips(not to mention, Wesker wasn’t even that talkative even when friendly, but he seemed even more occupied than normal), but Mack didn’t really mind. Their brain felt like it was in a fog, but his presence helped them be okay with that, given Wesker didn’t really expect their thoughts to be clear after everything.

The captain opened Mack’s backpack, which they had dropped by the door. There was lazy, joking protest about him taking their ‘loot’, but it was necessary to get the band-aids out. It was a bit comical to have him use these tiny bandages, given the injuries they’ve sustained lately weren’t exactly something bandaids could fix. Mack even let out a little scoff when Wesker gingerly placed the band-aid over their nose. Their nostrils crinkled from the slightly irritating feeling but they couldn’t help but smile. It faded after a moment, though. It was hard for them to keep things together like Wesker did.

“Can we… Take a break? Please? I’m exhausted,” Mack pleaded gently, once Wesker had finished patching himself up(he insisted Mackerel sit back and relax, so they’d busied themselves with murmuring about random things to him after Wesker’s insistence. He liked to listen to them ramble about just about anything, really. 

Wesker didn’t really need to consider this given Mack’s shaken up, tired condition. He sat down next to them, his tail seeming to go from a more stiff, alert position to more relaxed, gently having wrapped around their wrist for a moment. He gave the klepto cat a small smile and pulled them into his arms. Mack accepted this gesture with gratitude and a deep sigh, hiding their face in his chest for a moment. Given they were both still wearing most of their tactical gear due to just being too tired to take it off, you’d think they were uncomfortable, but no. Definitely could be worse, at least.

It didn’t take long for Wesker’s partner to pass out, snoring softly. Their tail twitched, and after a few minutes Mack’s protector had felt a bit more drowsy himself. His gloved hand lightly ran through their hair with a sigh. It was nice for them both to get a moment of peace, though Albert had too many things on his mind to really fully relax. It wasn’t enough for him to turn back or change his plans he’d worked so hard on, but he was worried about where Mackerel would end up by the end of all of this. He was afraid to admit it, but they were important to him. For now, though, he just allowed himself to cherish what was likely one of the last peaceful moments they’d ever have together.
