Tools Tuesday - Tagging - Oct 8

Tools Tuesday is a weekly part of the Finish What You Started event where I share various resources I have found to help everyone complete their WIP. Have a resource you want to share? Send it in a message and I'll take a look!

This Tools Tuesday is all about tagging, for when you're ready to post your finished work on Archive of Our Own or any other site that uses tags! AO3, as the most popular fic posting site, will be the focus.

To begin: what are tags? And why do we use them?

Tags are keywords used to describe a fic or post. They can serve a variety of functions, but at their core they tell a viewer what to expect when they click in. On some sites (like Tumblr), they are at the bottom of the post. On AO3, they are the third thing seen, after title and author.

As seen in this handy infographic from SummerofSpock on tumblr, tags on A03 fall into 5 rough categories: Canon, Format, Tone, Relationship, Theme.

Not every fic might use every category, and there are certainly tags that overlap categories. There's also what I consider a 6th category, which is Author Commentary (no beta we die like xx, character needs a hug, why did i do that much research for a single paragraph, etc).

All of that aside, why should you use tags?

They help readers find and enjoy your fic! The two main uses of tags when searching is Seeking and Avoidance.

Seeking is when a reader really wants to read a particular thing, like they want fix-its only or just Modern AUs. Once they narrow it down to fandom, these are the tags they'll type into the search bar. If your work isn't properly tagged, it won't show up, even if it's the epitome of a Coffee Shop AU and that's the term they search. Generously tag so readers can find you!

Avoidance is excluding a fic from consideration due to a particular theme or topic. Maybe their pet just died, so any mention of Animal Death is out. Maybe they are really tired of a particular ship, or are narrowing down for a rarepair. On AO3, there's a section in the filter bar for excluding tags (see below, boxed in blue). Readers can eliminate what they don't want to see, which is wonderful! They can select exactly what they want; not every fic is for every reader. Generously tag, so readers can be selective!

Additionally, this event requires certain tags be honored and present as needed, primarily common warnings or hot topics. See the rules post for more information. These tags at least need to be present in any promo post, though tagging the fic itself is always good practice. After all, tags are like the ingredient label of a fic.

Regarding the topic of jkkrs not being able to see Tae objectively anymore, I think that it’s only going to get worse. It’s way easier to go from OT7/objective thinking -> solo/shipper/biased mentality than it is to go the opposite way. I’ve seen a lot Jikook blogs either become a more delusion/narrow-minded shipper or go full on PJM with resentment for other members. There are even some usernames that I always used to regularly see in your comment sections that are now in the more extreme side of Jikooker/PJM tumblr. I understand that people can change their thinking or have had experiences/breaking points that led them to seek like-mindedness in other areas. But I feel like it’s kind of a skill to be able to step back and look at things/situations big picture instead of jumping to the worst possible conclusions. The rational Jikooker mentality to intolerance of Tae pipeline fascinates me because it was like we had our own little mini fandom implosion. I saw the shift happen in real time on Tumblr that involved many prominent Jikook blogs having to address the change and take a stance, lots of callouts and fallouts ensued. So many changes in a short period of time factored into this implosion: chapter 2, less OT7 content, less jkk content, more tkk hangouts, Tae not posting a lot for JM, Face promo debacle, tons of Golden promo, Tae mentioning JK’s name more often, and more. So I understand why people have shifted mindsets but it’s sad to see where the Jikook community is now vs where it used to be 3 years ago. Either way, I anticipate it will only worsen over time but I’m happy to still see blogs like yours that approach these topics with open-minded conversations.

PS: I’m not condemning or looking down on the more opinionated shippers/solos, I am just stating the changes I’ve noticed within Jikook Tumblr space as of late.

I take issue with your dichotomy of “OT7/objective thinking -> solo/shipper/biased mentality” because it’s not quite as clear-cut as OT7 = objective thinking, to put it lightly, but I understand what you’re trying to communicate and I agree with the other observations you’ve made.

Personally, it’s been a bit underwhelming seeing the fandom split so predictably. There was a time (prior to 2019) when I thought ARMY might be the exception to how I’d seen other fandoms organize, rise and fall, but lol. I quit that pipe dream during BE comeback when I saw newer ARMYs parroting akgae rhetoric, justifying boycotts and weighted streams for songs that certain members had writing credits on. This split with jikookers was always going to happen given how similarly shippers and akgaes approach idols in general, but yeah it’s been fascinating seeing what trigger exactly was the catalyst for certain types of people.

Safe to say I believe by this point in Chapter 2, everyone has already self-sorted into their respective buckets. Over the next couple of years I’m interested in seeing the evolution of these people as they progress further down the pipeline. I intend to keep this blog open for all of it.

this morning i decided to rank every episode in which blaine appears or is mentioned by the merit of their blaine content. because, i don't know, i'm very neurodivergent or something. so here is, in my opinion, the best to worst blaine episodes:

1. 3x15 “Big Brother”: has a micro celebrity older brother, gets very upset about everyone pointing at him, skips skip day, gets a stuffed animal from his boyfriend, doesn’t feel good enough with his brother around, and reconciles

2. 5x07 “Puppet Master”: has an autistic meltdown, gets gas poisoning, imagines everybody loves him, wants to share his core wounds, gives jake strange advice, steals, and sends puppets to new york city

3. 4x07 “Dynamic Duets”: creates a superhero alter ego, meets evil warbler #2, does autistic stuff, and wants to stop feeling like he’s a bad person

4. 2x12 “Silly Love Songs”: makes a fool out of kurt accidentally, makes a fool out of himself in a gap, becomes a part of a ‘when harry met sally’ situationship, and sings two solos

5. 4x03 “Makeover”: becomes a huge nerd and the president, makes a friend, lies to artie, and realizes he is sad and alone

46. 4x12 “Naked”: becomes santa, gets an unnecessary spray tan, and is a supportive friend

47. 5x20 “The Untitled Rachel Berry Project”: is given kurt’s trust, doesn’t want to sleep with brittany fictionally, and defeats a homophobic old lady

48. 2x17 “A Night of Neglect”: he gets taken on a date to a high school and pushes some people around

49. 6x01 “Loser Like Me”: has been in his flop era since Kurt broke up with him, but he does have a new boyfriend!

A Zelda Wedding 🛡️⚔️🌱🏺

Setting: The wonderful thing about Zelda is that you could have this wedding literally anywhere and it would work. Cathedral with stained glass windows? Temple of Time. Overgrown green forest? Lost Woods/Kokiri Forest. Grand Canyon? Gerudo Desert. Beach? Outset Island. Literally any location works for this. You could get married in a volcano! Pick somewhere that matches the feel you want for your wedding.

Decorations: Again, there are many aesthetics that fit with the Zelda series, though you’ll probably lean medieval Europe. And if you weren’t able to have you wedding at a certain location, you can still incorporate those elements, like standalone faux stained glass windows or potted pine trees. I recommend leaning into royal purple and forest green, to represent Zelda and Link and make your theming more obvious to your guests. But you could easily lean into the crystal and water aesthetic for the Zora, the snowy-feathery vibes of the Rito, the gold and jewels of the Gerudo, or the rocky-earthy decor of the Gorons. Or you could have designated sections for each aesthetic! As long as you pick a color palette and stick with it, you can get a lot of Zelda theming just out of mixing different textures and materials. Add in a Master Sword and a Hylian shield, and you can have a classy wedding that could lean more subtle or more nerdy.

Entertainment: Zelda is well known for the series’ incredible music. Don’t be afraid to not only have your guests dance the night away, but also to do “who can guess the song” trivia. If you have friends or family members who play musical instruments, you might even challenge them to play songs from the series (though you also need to think about the guests’ comfort transporting instruments). You could have a slingshot challenge, a LARP sparring area, a Korok scavenger hunt/puzzle game, and so much more! You could also do a blind raffle based on one of the series’ chest lottery games, where you put prizes in three different closed boxes and guests use tickets to vote for one they want the chance to bring home.

Food: Zelda, as far as I’m aware, is one of the easiest fandoms to find real-life versions of in-game food. There are several cookbooks dedicated to the various in-game recipes, not to mention to numerous blogs and YouTube videos where people try to create their own versions. Pick a season and try to build a themed meal around those flavors. I would like to throw in a quick promo for Aimee Wood’s Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook, which I backed on Kickstarter a couple years ago. It’s an incredibly well designed cookbook, with most recipes having some kind of vegan or gluten-free options, and there’s a sections for themed cocktails, which can be made either alcoholic or non-alcoholic. I still make milk tea from Aimee’s recipe every-time I have friends over.

Overall, Zelda is a series about being silly and having a classic adventure. Think about what makes you happy, and incorporate the elements that are important to you and your spouse.

I'm sorry but Kaylor Tumblr is an echo chamber right now, and dumb echo chamber at that.

Everyone including Swifties have been bored of the pap walks Taylor has been doing with her friends since after the first two or three she's done after dumping Toe, nobody wants to see Taylor do the same boring pap walks with the same boring people at the same boring restraunts while the vast majority of people think that her current street style looks like complete crap.

Swifties were so bored of all this boring shit that Taylor's doing for the 1989 TV rollout that a lot of them were coming up with wild theories about how there is going to be a secret B-side to 1989 TV that has vault tracks with titles that don't sound boring as shit and collabs with actually cool and interesting celebrities. The excitement Taylor drummed up for Swifties with the Google vault puzzle didn't even last that long, the excitement all died off within two hours of Taylor announcing the vault track names and Swifties went back to coming up with "theories" to try and make 1989 TV and everything around it less boring.

Taylor bearding with this football dude was actually a good move for her to make because now Swifties aren't bored to death over how lackluster the rollout for 1989 TV is anymore and now she's got the attention of people who wouldn't be interested in her without this dude as potential new consumers of her products and the only downside of her doing this was pissing off a miniscule section of her fandom, Gaylors, who have a major issue with too many of them acting like awful over-entitled brats because she's her own person who handles her closet exactly the way she wants to instead of coming out of the closest for the benefits of others even thought Taylor's indicated in her most recent album Midnights that coming out of the closet just so others can benefit is something she has zero interest or intention of doing.

Hello, anon. So, let me see if I got it right. You think everyone was bored and that's why Taylor had to get a beard? That he'll solve all the problems by keeping swifties occupied and boosting her sales? I don't even- lol first, if your fanbase is so thirsty for news or entertainment that they can't sit still for a few weeks, something is wrong in the way you handle them. She's either sending the wrong signals, spoiling them with too much content to the point that when one thing happens (like the vault to solve), they're already antsy for the next thing. Did they forget about the year she spent away?? Maybe they need reminding. If you kept up with her during 2014-2015, you'll remember what it was like the 1989 era - she did promote that album a lot. It worked and she didn't need a guy for it, how crazy. What I think most ppl around me are saying, is that she's the Taylor Swift. She doesn't need a man to boost her numbers. Sure, she's reaching a new territory and a new audience with this stunt, but she doesn't need it to make big bucks. She's at the top of her game, she's reaching a new high every day. Just check the charts or how her concerts are sold out. Not to mention that 1989 is an era based on her being single and happy, her preaching all around about having fun with her friends and enjoying life without a relationship. That seems to have been thrown out of the window now. She could do better promo if she wanted to, bc we've seen it before. Now it seems like even if she just dumped her last beard in the first semester, she can't go more than a few months without a guy. What message does it send, anon? Ppl have every right to be annoyed, even if we do understand she's doing it for even bigger numbers and to have a wider audience. Most of us have been here for years keeping up with her story. As far as I've seen, no one is being an asshole demanding her to come out or whatever. They're just wondering why this same old story again. You're allowed your feelings and opinions, anon, but remember, so are we.

I'm an incredibly anxious person in general, which keeps me on the sidelines rather than reaching out, and I get overwhelmed easily and quickly, further adding to that. I've also been through a LOT in the past across various fandoms, in a lot of really negative ways, and that's left me incredibly wary in a lot of ways, and I'm afraid of bothering others, so I'm really likely to like a promo or a pinned post as a means of 'dipping toes in the water" and will always be eternally thankful for the people who follow or come to give me a chance as a result. <3 I'm just super wary and nervous naturally- TwT

Like previously mentioned, I get overwhelmed stupidly easily, and a busy dash is oftentimes one of the biggest reasons for that, so I try to limit actual follows and don't follow for follow anymore in an attempt to keep it slow. It has absolutely nothing to do with anyone but me and I do try to follow back for those who're mutuals only to respect your rules, but if I haven't followed/followed back this is totally why and I'm sorry TwT <3

I try to follow canon for Lumine, regardless of Traveler or Abyss Princess verses, but I do diverge slightly in places - like Lumine being not just Lumine, but holding a second soul within her as well. These are thing I list under the divergences section in my rules, though, and will be updating as time passes and muses shift around!

What post lengths do you write?

One-Liners / Single-Para / Multi-Para / Novella / All of the aforementioned.

I am, without a doubt, a descriptive rp'er, and I love giving an insight to what my muse is thinking and their thought processes and body language. I tend to lean towards a minimum of 3 paras per reply as a result of this and I legitimately can't do one-liners or short replies to save my life, and if you let me run away with things? I can easily give you back 7-9 paras in one reply! I try to keep things reigned in unless I know my partner is down for that, though - I just like making sure there's more than one point in my replies able to be worked with. <3

Do you use icons and/or GIFS?

Do you write on other platforms?

I write occasionally on discord with established, long term partners, but I do prefer to write here. Discord is more for the close mutuals I have who can't make it onto their blog for whatever reason and want to keep things going, but port it over to a dash based thread when they are able to be on. <3

Legit all of these! <3 There's some things I prefer to plot out, like anything to do with current/in progress plotlines in canon, and I do prefer to be on the same page as my partner before starting anything, but I'm also totally down for something random and unplotted off dash crack or an ask, too! <3

How quickly do you usually respond to threads?

This varies a lot. I'm not ignoring anyone or anything - I am, unfortunately, chronically ill and frequently sick, and that makes focus incredibly difficult sometimes, resulting in me focusing on one thread above all others or just not doing replies for an extended period of time. There's also a lot going on in my offline life that affects my ability to focus, and while the muse may be high (as it always is XD), I may not have the brainpower to put their antics and words down in a reply, as I'm just tired, emotionally, mentally, and physically, and put things off for another day. I do use a thread tracker and try to keep it updated with things, but the order I reply to things in heavily depends on the hamsters in wheels I call my brain-

What types of themes do you like?

Adventure / Romance / Fluff / ANGST / Violence / Tragedy / Domestic / Family/ All of the aforementioned

I'm pretty picky when it comes to violence, angst, and tragedy - I don't like throwing these things into a thread for shock value, and I want to get to know my partner before things really delve too deep into topics that could make someone uncomfortable in any form. I also heavily dislike violence for the sake of violence and while I have nothing against those who love it, it's just not for me. <3

I'm also a lover of shipping, as can be seen by the fact I have a 'canon' ship for nearly every one of my muses, but as much as I love romance and fluffy stuff, I'm also very much exclusive with @yoroiis for all things romantic. However! I am open to all kinds of other ships - Friendships, famlial, hateships, unrequited feelings, etc, and I love developing non romantic ships! All the friends and such for sure, plz! <3

I'm pretty weak for fantasy (which is why Spellbound and Somnium Crystallum verses exist, honestly-), and what drew me into GI in the first place. Sci-fi I prefer to plot rather than jumping directly into it and I'm not really big on horror with a few incredibly rare exceptions, call me a horror chicken honestly, and I do not do smut on dash anymore, nor outside of with close, trusted friends for a multitude of reasons, though I do write it. Espionage is a 'eh' kind of category only really marked here because of Kagota's role as a spy and scout, too, I blame the thundergoat-

Are there any themes you’re uncomfortable writing on your blog? (Not triggers)

No / Yes / Sometimes

I have a fair few things I wouldn't call triggers, but do make me uncomfortable and uneasy; I'm incredibly uncomfortable with things like severe power imbalances between muses unless it's been plotted out beforehand - I know it exists and my muses, especially Kagota, are prone to falling into such a thing, especially within the ranks of the Fatui, but suddenly coming out of nowhere without some kind of discussion prior to it happening is going to make me balk hard. The same is true of abuse and assaults, where I don't mind mentions in backstories or flashbacks, but I won't write out the actual scene or event in a thread or a drabble, especially the latter - muses talking about it or thinking about how it happened? Totally not an issue, but again, it also depends heavily on being given a heads up and trust levels in my partner. Either way, I won't be writing out the actual event, and want to be respectful with how these kinds of things are portrayed.

I'm also pretty uncomfortable with topics regarding infidelity (i.e. threads involving cheating on a spouse/partner full on, 'My father got caught cheating' type things I don't mind as much), "We need to rekindle our love" type plots (as in 'A doesn't love B anymore, so let's have B act entirely unlike themselves or play out a fantasy solely for the sake of having A fall in love with them again!'), heavy manipulation without prior discussion (and even then I have my limits), degrading someone else for amusement's sake (out of the blue insults for no reason than tEh LuLz, tearing someone apart because you think it's funny and no other reason, just generally being a jerk without warning nor reason), and forcing anything (ships, plots, things IN the plots, etc, especially without discussion first).

Again, some of this I can be persuaded to skirt around with discussion, plotting, and enough trust in my partners, but for the most part, it leaves me incredibly uncomfortable and things like this have been used against me or to hurt me in the past by former partners, or are linked to things I've dealt with in other ways I would rather not remember. I used to be a doormat for others - I'm not doing it again, and I can and will balk or drop threads if I'm uncomfortable or we haven't discussed anything beforehand.

Do you have any triggers? How do you request it tagged?

I do! Things on fire, especially realistically and in the vein of landscapes and buildings on fire, is a major one and I do have PTSD surrounding it, so it's the most major one I do ask be tagged as 'Not For Poms', which I have blacklisted for comfort's sake. To a lesser extent and not in my rules but I do try to avoid regardless because they're usually tagged anyway, is spiders, real world politics, animal death, and gore - things I can blacklist if I need to through the words alone.

I also don't consider the ships on the NOTP list in my rules to be triggers either, but I'm uncomfortable hearing about them due to past trauma and previously mentioned bad experiences across multiple fandoms, and while I don't need them tagged, I do try to avoid them for a multitude of reasons, most of which involve having them or aspects of them used against me or to hurt me. I'm all for other people shipping them and I hope y'all enjoy them, but for peace of mind's sake, I do try to avoid the ones listed there. <3

I don't mind pre-plotting anything other than romantic! I do tho ask if there's physical contact involved between muses to have a little more plotting than just a simple "hey wanna do the thing" - This is just because more than a couple of my muses are dealing with trauma or jumpy in regards to contact, and I find it best to be a little more into plotting out physical closeness even between platonic bonds, just so we're on the same page. <3

God yes. XD I have a 'canon' - blog canon, that is - ship for each of my muses and that is their primary, and usually only, ship for them. That's my OTP for that muse, though I might have a few others I think are cute on the side, even if I'm not actively writing or shipping them in that exact moment~

As previously mentioned, I have a NOTP list in my rules of (romantic) ships I don't like talking or hearing about, for a bunch of personal reasons. I don't hate the ships or anything like that, and lordy knows I don't hate the people who ship them - The ones on that list are for the most part there because they or something about them was previously used to hurt me pretty badly in some form, and I thus try to distance myself from them. The characters on their own I especially don't mind? I just try to avoid the romantic ship part of things for my peace of mind.

I'm very 'if it happens it happens' and 'chemistry has to be involved' kinds of people, but trying to 'insta-ship' has rarely worked out for me outside of with certain incredibly close and tight friends - and even then, we're still letting the muses interact first to see how they hit it off before swandiving 100% into a ship. Even so, I've gone exclusive these days for this kind of thing; I'm just not into fixating on the ship itself and I love how what I have isn't solely focused on the romance aspect, and instead on both romance and the muses just being really close friendly as much as they are romantic. It's not all about the kisses and fluff - It's about the muses just being people and that's the best to me <3

Something like this would take an insane level of trust in my partner to happen. I don't care if it's romantic or not, this is one of the biggest things that has been used to hurt me in the past, and I need to know both I and my muse are safe and that there's a limit to this for a fact before I'll even think about it. If the toxicity is fixated on and used as a cover for just being a jerk, IC or OOC just because they can be? Or used to bypass set boundaries, etc? Absolutely not. But with the right partner, enough planning, constant communication, and logical reasons behind everything? Maybe - I've had a couple, though I wouldn't call them truly toxic, either.

He’s content right now and it shows, the album is great as far as we — his fans — are judging it (I hope you’re aware of the amount of hate it gets in the comments of radio x ig page and others, nothing new from the previous “commonly questionable” album’s acceptance tho), and he’s just busy at the moment with the very tour hence doesn’t have enough time to proceed that his baby aka the new album wasn’t greeted as forever nm 1… that’s what I mean. That’s why I mentioned the end of the tour. When he actually has time to proceed it all. He needs support. A wise one. Can Louise provide some? Idk. Once more: it’s easy to not give a damn about being down when you’ve always been on top

But don’t you think there’s a good chance he has no idea and doesn’t care about the radio x comment section or similar? To answer your question, no we are not aware of what people say there — we don’t really follow any fandom outside of tumblr because to be honest, we don’t really care what they have to say about something that we know we enjoy. Of course it’s easy not to care if other people don’t like it because it’s not OUR artistic work, but Alex seems to be solidly in a place where he doesn’t go around googling himself and reading what randos say on the internet, so he’s probably going to be just fine.

(On a bigger, deeper level, is it even possible to be an artist as original and high-quality as he is if you make artistic or life decisions based on what random fools say in an Instagram comment section?)

We get some sense — for example from the lyrics of Big Ideas — that he wasn’t thrilled with the reception of TBHC but if he was truly upset, he would have made a different album to follow it up rather than carrying on with what he wanted to do, you know?

Major kpop vibes specifically nct. Consist family agenda, popular ones used as a stepping stone for others, no individuality everything(promos,brands) have to benefit the family or its rejected. They are literally scapegoats the moment they allowed their kindness be used for a family agenda. To be honest they are the main ones pushing its why it has a bigger impact on them negatively. No one's a true friend when business is involved because greed and ego ruins it. That company colors are showing

I know some people question why the fandom feels the way they do about Pond or BOC, but I would much rather people actually pay attention to what's being said instead of forming statements based on the things they do not know. It's okay to say you don't have enough information about something to form an opinion, so you will refrain from doing so until you get the most pertinent information that you desire. You can be a bootlicker without flattening the argument based on an opinion about something you don't know the full details about. I just needed to put that out there before I continued.

The company has proven itself to have a very specific agenda. I've seen people here and there mention the K-Pop tendencies BOC have employed when it comes to the way they handle their actors and it's asinine to me honestly. I don't understand the purpose of shuffling these men around as if they were in a K-Pop group instead of treating them like what they are - independent contractors who are actors with their own separate individual careers. Controlling and moving them around like chess pieces in order to fulfill whatever weird agenda the CEO has is mind boggling to me to say the very least. Most production companies and talent agencies don't have that much control because why would they? They help their talent with networking and they help them make the proper connections with the right people to get the roles that best fit them and that's it. There's no occurrence of them interfering in things that don't suit them. Pond interferes quite a bit in the affairs of his actors, more than the average CEO does and I find that strange and have always found it strange.

You can be a bootlicker all you want, but Pond is unprofessional. Full stop. Being unprofessional is usually a good enough reason for people to not be a fan of certain individuals. Everyone on Twitter hates Elon Musk now, right? Why is that? Everyone hated Trump when he was constantly on Twitter doing the same thing. Why is that? Pretending like you don't understand why other people wouldn't be fond of someone in a position of power acting like they're one of us in these social media spaces makes you seem obtuse and quite frankly, naïve. What CEO you know is going around telling fans that he dislikes them in the comment section of another actor's IG post? What CEO does that? How is anyone okay with that?

The first Tools Tuesday of the year is all about tagging, for when you're ready to post your finished work on Archive of Our Own or any other site that uses tags! AO3, as the most popular fic posting site, will be the focus.

To begin: what are tags? And why do we use them?

Oh, if people are still submitting their toxic Tae asks, I actually do think he might occasionally purposefully rile shippers (not every time or even most of the time he’s accused, just sometimes, and I think he might do it with other members too, he even riles jkkrs up by posting jkk sometimes) but I don’t think he’s malicious about it or trying to incite the really hardcore truthers. I don’t think it’s that deep, and clearly it doesn’t hurt or bother any of the other members because they’re all obviously on good terms + you would have to accuse some of the others of doing the same thing sometimes, like JK was clearly in on that FaceTime photo being posted, some of Namjoon’s comments on JKs lives, and Jimin posted tkk hugging with their cheeks smushed so… Plus, tkk have undoubtedly become very good friends and spent a lot of time together this year, so it’s just obvious he would post and talk about him more than other members. But I do think there might have been a handful of times where Tae purposefully riled up his shippers a bit (I think he knows ARMYs like hearing about other members and doesn’t always know what to talk about on lives too, so he's more likely to mention others), but I don’t really think it’s a big deal, and I think he’s obviously just kind chaotic about other things as well when he’s in the mood. Probably toxic and a hot take because I see people either thinking he’s completely innocent and oblivious or 100% manipulative evil about it.

It boggles my mind how people can watch Taehyung during his solo career so far and think he doesn't care about Yeontan because he didn't post a picture before his enlistment. This man put Tannie on his cds, on his merch, in his music videos, and in his promo.

OK, I need to vent, I need to get it out of my system, I have been holding it in and but just can't anymore!!!! I hate Hate HATE Jimin's mullet in Like Crazy!!!!!!!!!! I mean Jimin looks beautiful in mullets. He was fabulous in mullets before! He's gorgeous in anything. He was godsend in Set me free pt2! They have the same base hair! just styled differently!!! why Why WHY did like crazy mullet have that weirdly straight sorta-tapered sorta-not shape around his beautiful neck?!!? The back of the head could've been wavy or curbed out or fuller or shorter or longer! WHY did it have to be THAT specific length and THAT specific shape all immortalized in the MVs for the world to see forever and ever?!?!? This like crazy era hairstyle breaks my heart,,, WHY?????????

BPP how aren't you sick of all the Tae takes yet? It baffles me how people can fixate on the most minute details of Tae's actions FOR MONTHS. Is this normal? Is it mentally healthy? I realize the irony asking you since I'm a joker myself but a lot of people here sound kinda crazy. It can't be healthy to hate Tae so intensely for so long while victimizing Jimin. Just thinking about it makes me itch.

I agree that Jkkrs used to be like the sunny part of this fandom's shipping in comparison to Tkkrs, and I've felt it change in the last year, but tbh it can never be compared to Tkkrs. I saw this when the blurry video of Jk dropped, especially here on tumblr.

I read many rational discussions on the topic and many Jkkrs (me included) accepted the fact that Jikook may not be exclusive/may have had sth in the past but are not together now (I'm of this opinion although the military thing has started my deluluness again and I'm leaning towards the belief that they may be something more than friends even today), and it was a breath of fresh air to see how many Jkkrs didn't just bluntly dismiss it was him (I mean we still don't know for sure if it was or not, but you shouldn't exclude all options bc they don't fit your narratives) - sth I haven't seen with Tkkrs (starting with the Taennie video and then Jk's) - on the contrary, I've seen them become more unhinged than ever.

So there are crazy shippers on both part, as well as the rational ones, but still, whenever I think of Tkk shippers, I get the ick as they give me such cult-like vibes (and this has nothing to do with Tae and Jk themselves).

Happiness Isn’t In The Having - 15x18 coda fic rec list. Castiel’s confession inspired destiel writers to pour their hearts and souls into writing coda fics and this floodgate has not been closed yet. This rec list is just a small sample of hundreds upon hundreds of coda fics. I’m planning on posting at least one more coda rec list for 15x20, just give me time guys.

Destiel Fic Starter Pack was created to help new fans to get around destiel fic and I’m absolutely floored by the love and attention it is getting. His Favorite Employees | Keys x Reader (x Antwan)

Prompt: Enemies to Lovers

Words: 1540

Fandom: Free Guy

A/N: I don’t know how to explain myself, but Antwan and Keys were my favorite in the movie. Antwan’s still an asshole, but dialed down a bit. He’s got a type, and it’s snarky computer nerds. Reader’s nickname is Screens because I thought it’d be cute to have them be Mouse(r), Keys, and Screens.

Summary: Reader worked with Millie and Keys on Life Itself until it got buried by Soonami. You and Keys can’t afford to join Millie in the lawsuit and begrudgingly start to work under Soonami, keeping your heads down as much as possible. It was all pointless when your boss kept bothering you two anyways.

“Screens! Why don’t you convince Loreal to join programming with you, huh?” Your boss asked, leaning against your desk.

Your eyes left your triple monitor setup, that you insisted on having for work, for a second to look up at him before going back to your coding. “Why don’t you convince him yourself once he’s back from lunch if you’re so adamant about it?” you countered.

You stopped caring about how you spoke to him about half a year after you started working at Soonami. If anything, he enjoyed it. Even Keys unleashed his snarkiness, lasting at least a year under Antwan’s attention-seeking moments. He had no business roaming around the Customer's Complaints section when he didn’t care about it in the first place. He just wants the game to keep running and the cash to keep flowing.

“Well, he’s your boyfriend, isn’t he?”

“Why does that matter? Checking if one of us is single? Highly inappropriate, boss,” you said flatly. “How ‘bout you move our new project forward and I’ll think about talking to Keys about that promo?”

Your chair swung to the side, forcing you to fully face Antwan. There was a strange look on his face as he stared down at you. The floor was awfully quiet as they all held their breath. Antwan was known to fire people on a whim, but it brought them to wonder why he had not fired you or Keys yet. He, at least, had reasons to fire you both, but he also had reasons to keep you both. While you and Keys could turn on him and dig any kind of dirt up, both of you were also incredibly good at your jobs. It would be extremely difficult to replace even one of you.

His eyes narrowed as you stared back, silently daring him to make his move. He leaned forward, his long arms practically boxing you in in your chair as the corner of his lips turned up. Despite him constantly bothering you every workday, he never got into your space like this. You didn’t completely despise him, not like Millie, which you don’t fault her for, and you found your banters with him almost amusing on a good day.

You hated to admit that he possessed an unfairly amount of charisma and confidence that strung investors along and hooked in gamers so they could come back for more. He knew how to play the social game. Complete idiocy can’t build a big company like Soonami Studio.

It’s all over social media, people love Free City and fans are addicted to his interviews. People want more games and they like his personality, his humor, and you weren’t blind to the comments that mention his good looks. Another unfair trait of his that you hate to admit.

His fingers clenched on the back of your chair before spinning you. Your stomach lurched at the sudden movement, planting your feet down to stop the motion further. When the nausea subsided, you looked around and saw that Antwan had already left.

“What a prick,” you muttered. Hotness does not cancel out assholery.

“You’ve got balls of steel, Screens,” the programmer next to you mused.

You sighed tiredly. “Thanks, I guess. Gonna take a break. If Dickwad comes back, tell him I ran away.”

It’s been an hour since the office started closing up, workers leaving in small groups and cramming themselves in the elevator. You shut down your computer and packed your things before making your way over to Mouser and Keys. They were usually one of the few last ones to leave the office with Keys being the worst out of them all.

“Ready to go?” you asked Keys, hanging off his chair and resting your chin on top of his well cushioned head.

Keys grunted distractedly, finishing up his report of the recent glitch he just fixed. “Five more minutes,” he mumbled.

“How’s it going, Screens?” Mouser said, his head popping out from behind his computer monitor. “Heard what happened with you and Antwan today. Balls of steel for days, they said.”

“It wasn’t that extreme. Do you get the feeling that he’s getting worse, though?” you asked, sitting on the corner of Key’s desk.

“How so? You’d have to be more specific,” Keys said, finally pulling away from his computer and resting a hand on your thigh.

You shrugged. “Just being more of a hovering nuisance than usual. Did he bother you about the promotion yet?”

Keys nodded. “Yeah. Said I was too good to be stuck in customer complaints. Not sure why he wants me to. Technically, with both of us as programmers, we’d have an advantage to find evidence against him.”

“Why is he nicer to you?” you muttered. Keys smiled, squeezing your thigh in sympathy.

“Maybe it’s the hair?” Mouser pointed out.

You nodded sagely then turned to him. “Wanna get take-out with us?”

His face brightened. He jumped out of his chair and quickly stuffed his things in his bag. “God, I’m so hungry. Thought you’d never ask.”

You ran your fingers through Keys' hair, his shoulders relaxing immediately as he closed his eyes. “Come on, Keke. You can continue tomorrow,” you said softly.

“Alright.”

The three of you made your way to the elevator, the mental exhaustion of the day settling in with each floor that passed. Mouser and Keys talked amongst themselves about all the bugs they’ve found in Free City and the hackers they managed to hunt down and ban. You sighed, leaning your head on Keys’ shoulder. You felt him shift to fix his glasses before tilting his head to yours and entwining your fingers together.

“Thanks for reminding me how lonely I am, guys,” Mouser said.

“You’re welcome,” you and Keys answered.

Halfway through the lobby, the dreaded voice of Antwan Hovachelik echoed across the space, calling out for you and Keys. Mouser winced, patting Keys on the shoulder as he left to wait outside.

“What does he want this time?” Keys muttered.

Antwan strutted over, his ridiculous two-toned long coat in the middle of summer swishing against his long legs. Keys sighed in exasperation, crossing his arms as your boss stood in front of you two. He licked his lips as he readied a sassy comment and you did not miss Antwan’s eyes dropping to watch.

“If you give me on one more ridiculous -”

“Okay,” Antwan interrupted.

“Okay what?” you asked.

“Your new project,” he said, “Give me a thorough report on your game idea and I’ll let you test it out.”

“Right, so you can drop it again,” Keys said, “Stop messing with us. We’re not a part of Millie’s lawsuit, you don’t have to keep torturing us to quit or whatever it is you’re doing.”

Antwan frowned, stepping back with a twisted expression as if what he said was absurd. “I don’t want either of you to quit. It’ll be too boring if you do. They say not to choose favorites, but I guess I’ve done that here by even keeping you on. I’m letting you do your little project because the plebs want some variety in our games. Which means, more opportunity for money. Add in a gacha element if you have to. You deliver, I’ll give both of you a raise and whatever it is to your heart's content.”

“Even the source code to Life Itself?” you asked.

He smirked, leaning into your space for the second time today. “Even that. And if you screw this up, no more Life Itself, no more project opportunities, no more free instant ramen and endless supply of premium coffee in the break room, and no more jobs. Got it?”

“Got it,” Keys said, nudging you to answer.

“Yeah, I got it.”

Antwan nodded, deeming this conversation over. He spun around and headed out, slamming the glass doors open with both hands. “Antwan out!”

You rolled your eyes. As his figure disappeared, you pulled your phone out and stopped the voice recording. “I got everything.”

“Still not enough to prove that he’s using it in Free City.”

“No, but we’re getting there. At least we know that he still has it,” you pointed out as you and Keys made your way out of the lobby.

“True. Or he could be lying… because it’s Antwan.”

You gasped dramatically. “I thought we were his favorite employees!”

Keys rolled his eyes fondly, placing a hand on the small of your back as he held the door open for you. “Did I hear that right or did he also just admit that he had been the one stocking the break room with ramen and coffee?”

You shrugged. “Not like he’s pressed for money.”

“Yeah, but it's the fact that he even bothered to do it. Don’t you think it’s kind of a coincidence that they didn’t appear until we were complaining about how it was always instant coffee and pop tart boxes that always had one or two left inside in the break room? And he bought specific brands and flavors, too. Our favorites.”

“I think… you’re overthinking this.”

“Am I? I’m sure you’ve thought of this, too.”

“Of what?”

Keys hesitated, his mouth opening and closing, then he shook his head. “Nothing. Nevermind.”
