3. Stop telling me or other people struggling with mental health that it is all in our heads. Because we know that it is a mental health issue so stop adding external triggers. And if you can't be supportive and think psychological issues are bogus and sign of weakness then never be too nice and pretend to know the details. Because it hurts like crazy when right after we share something so important and sensitive with you, you mock us and our struggles. #mentalhealthawareness #mighty #mentalhealthbeforeeverything

*I have been wanting to say these things out loud since a while but then I avoided because it takes up a lot energy to talk about personal struggles, relapse, stigma and recovery at times.* 1. For the people who ask me why am I so sad and why am I not trying to be happy? Why do I rant or vent this much? Or who say you need to be realistic and strong. Please Stop. If you really care about me, learn to be more empathetic and educate yourself on how to approach a person who is struggling with mental health issues. Because asking me about how am I and in same breath dissing my struggle by assuming I am not trying enough is triggering. You have no idea how much effort have I put in my recovery in past and how much it takes me everyday to be functional. This goes for other warriors too. To be cont... Ps: I use the word warrior for the people struggling with mental health issues because we fight a new battle everyday.
