So there's this game (?) I've been playing lately that's part of mindfulness. Every day you have to water your plant and you can do that in different ways, daily gratitude, emotion naming, or journaling.
You earn points by taking care of your plant to decorate a house, earn more plants, etc...
You can even put your fully grown plants into the house for decoration.

Guys gals n other pals, this app is great for reminding you to take your meds.
Tumblr media
Especially bc you can make the push notification banner "stickied"! Meaning you can't swipe it away easily with one swipe, you have to drop-down and chosose an action or tap it to open the app and select take meds. So if you never took meds then you will see it later on when viewing other notifications and be like "oh shit better take them right now!!!" At least that's worked for me like 95% of the time (idk i find it hard gauging percentages/amounts lol)
The ads are non-intrusive too and idek what the paid version is for cos I've been using it just fine on the free version.
Only thing is i recall having trouble setting more than two doses for some reason, i did a third once for antibiotics but the sticky overtook one of the psychiatric meds dose stickies. But worth trying out for yourself

I don't get along with one of the mental health apps work provides for us, but I'm spending hours yesterday and today speed running the cbt course on it.
Why, you ask?
cause 2 weeks ago it logged me out and erased months of daily log ins where I'd already completed it and for some insane reason the app has a number of functions locked behind the useless course.
also because if you complain to the people that visit trying to encourage us to use it their first suggestion is literally to do this dumb thing to understand how pointless their labelling of emotions as 'healthy' or 'unhealthy' actually is. that categorisation would be fine if they didn't limit the group of choices for how I've felt in a day based on which word I press first. or actually had rational definitions for the words which are synonyms of each other but apparently different sides of healthy.
I said I hate this app right?

How to Design an Effective Mental Health Tracker App
Tumblr media
Creating a mental health tracker app can be a game-changer for individuals seeking to manage their mental well-being. To build a good mental health tracker app, it's important to integrate user-friendly features, secure data handling, and continuous improvements. This guide will outline the steps to design an app that users will find both helpful and engaging.
Understanding User Needs
Start by researching your target audience to understand their mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, or stress. This will help you tailor the app's features to meet their specific needs.
Key Features for Your App
Mood Logging: This allows users to log their daily moods easily.
Daily Journaling: Provide a journaling feature for self-reflection.
Reminders and Notifications: Set reminders for mood logging, medication, and mindfulness.
Progress Tracking: Offer visual reports to show mood trends.
Resources and Support: Include access to helpful mental health resources.
User-Friendly Design
Design a clean and intuitive interface with calming colors and simple graphics. Make sure the app is easy to navigate for all users.
Privacy and Security
Implement strong encryption protocols to protect user data. Communicate your privacy policies to ensure users feel secure.
Testing and Feedback
Conduct extensive testing to identify and fix bugs. Gather feedback from beta testers to improve the app’s functionality.
Launch and Marketing
Plan a strategic launch using social media and mental health forums. Collaborate with mental health professionals to promote the app.
Continuous Improvement
Regularly update the app based on user feedback and new research. This will keep users engaged and satisfied.
Community Building
Create a supportive community within your app through peer support groups and discussion forums.
Integrating with Wearables
Enhance the app by integrating it with wearable devices for additional health data.
Utilizing AI
Leverage AI for personalized recommendations and mood predictions.
Collaboration with Professionals
Work with mental health professionals to ensure the app’s content is accurate and beneficial.
Educating Users
Provide tutorials and educational content to help users make the most of your app.
Monetization
Consider a freemium model to offer basic features for free and charge for advanced features.
By following these steps, you can design a mental health tracker app that truly supports users in managing their mental well-being.

They didn't ever work for longer than a month, but they were aspirational
