It's those sickening few moments of looking towards home and seeing a sickly beam of light coloring swirling clouds, and the realization that something is very, very wrong. Nothing will ever be the same again, but how could someone ever prepare for something like this?

Went back and redid the piece of Kippa arriving in Rata Sum the day Thaumanova exploded and destroyed the city of Rata Thauma above it.

By Mother's branches, we're surrounded by ice. Caithe couldn't keep her eyes off the suspended fragments in the air, or the vanishing cloud that was her breath escaping her as she fought back the shock that was clawing up her chest and into her throat. She somehow channeled Jormag. It's like the jungle all over again. She'll lose herself to the dragon soon-

She shook her head, hard enough to make the leaves on her head rattle against each other. "Stop this," she muttered aloud.

"Caithe?" Kippa's voice, trembling and so small as to be almost invisible, caught her attention. She turned to look down at the asura, who had only just regained consciousness from where she'd collapsed in a heap after somehow healing Rhenn.

Who had only just witnessed what feat of magic she had unleashed upon an unready world.

Caithe took a deep breath, before making herself smile. "Sorry, Kippa. Just a bit lost in my thoughts for a moment. What did you need?"

"I don't know," she blurted, looking on the verge of tears as Caithe knelt down next to her. It was as the sylvari moved to her knees that she finally got a good look at the ice hanging in the air.

Embedded in each, there appeared to be iridescent fluid: a river of crystal like that Aurene created around her with her unique magic, moving at all times. Curious, Caithe glanced towards Rhenn to check the wound in his chest. There as well was a crystalline seam with that same fluid, pulsing and glowing faintly within.

"Kippa..." Caithe finally found her voice. "What is this?"

"Aurene says that I communed with her magic to save Rhenn. It's water magic merged with her crystal magic." Kippa wrung her hands while looking down at Rhenn. "I don't know how I did it, so please-"

"Oh no, no, I don't care to know that part." Caithe reached out to rest her hand on top of Kippa's hands, settling the asura's nervous fidgeting. "You saved him from dying, Kippa. That's what I care most about right now, for Aurene's sake. You did exactly what you should have done-"

She would have continued, but at that point Kippa flung herself into Caithe's arms with a sob. Caithe froze for just a moment in surprise, before gently pulling a hand over the asura's hair and making soft noises to try and calm her down.

Answering the question of what this insane amount of magic was, and what it could mean for them all, could wait for a moment more.

While getting my hand back, I wanted to get a Kippa out. So here she is, the sweetest girl in creation.

Eye of the North during Icebrood Saga was a massive shift for all parties involved, but perhaps none moreso than Kippa. The soft spoken, shy elementalist was always known to be a powerful healer... but no one quite realized just how intense that magic was until Rhenn was slipping away beneath her hands.

She can save him... but she will never be the same again.

Kippa has always been prone to working herself half to death. Rhenn's finally had enough, for reasons Kippa just hasn't expected.

The Day the Whole World Changed

The morning of the Thaumanova disaster, Kippa was called back to Rata Sum by her frantic uncle Professor Gorr, who'd received word of the complete and utter decimation of the city cube and needed to bring his niece to tell her what had happened.

Meaning that on her arrival in the city, a confused Kippa found herself staring in the direction of Rata Thauma, wondering why all she could see were pulsating clouds and a brilliant beam of light...

It's summertime! And that means it's time to dress for the beach. Saw a really cute bathing suit and figured it'd be hella cute on Kippa.

So Kippa gets the cutest bathing suit for the warm weather.

As Rhenn spent more time around Kippa, talking to her and learning about what led her to traveling with him despite her hatred of the Inquest, he learns two things:

One. She might be just about as lonely as he's starting to realize he is.

Two? Kippa is so much stronger than he's ever given her credit, and maybe he's starting to see her in a brand new light...

PARTY TIME, it's Kippa's birthday! My sweet little Oracle of Aurene, the nicest healer you'll ever meet, and just an all around sweet girl. I haven't talked about her much because of personal reasons lately but I still love her dearly.

Y'all don't realize how DEEPLY tempting this is. Look how good it looks on her!

I can't write this bit yet because I don't remember enough of Season 3 to figure out where to put it, but suffice to say there was an interesting encounter while Kippa was treating Rhenn's injuries after he went to see his father.

Technically I have two. First is Islwyn the Penitent, a sylvari from wall-legion's Shiverpeaks tree.

Though starting out in a position that left him frustrated and lost in the world (abandoned in the Grove by a well meaning norn, stint with the soundless, eventually hangs with the Nightmare Court for a while), he eventually finds his way to the Crystal Bloom and starts his "rehabilitation" arc as of the start of IBS. He initially sort of fibbed his way into membership, but he's genuinely started to fall in line as well. Largely because he finally feels connected where everything her tried before left him more and more isolated.

Kippa is a lot more complicated, as like Caithe, she found herself in a position where she was placed on a pedestal.

Following the overwhelming power of her unintentional megaheal that looped the dragon magic that had been siphoned into her without her mother's knowledge before she was born into Aurene's to save Rhenn's life and unintentionally heal everyone in EotN. The Crystal Bloom realized she, like Caithe, had a unique bond with the young dragon and give her the title the Oracle of Aurene (some also refer to her as the Conduit). She spent a lot of time navigating this with Caithe's help. She's still a little uncomfortable with it.
