What kinds of insects would your family members be?
a very important question!
this is a fun ask
As i’ve said before, my mom is a picasso bug
Tumblr media
very pretty and very artsy, but don’t be fooled by the colors. Usually bugs with really pretty colors mean “don’t mess with me, i’m poisonous! or i atleast taste really really bad!” the picasso bug is no different.
Doug wouldn’t be a dung beetle, tho that would be a funny pun,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’d be a larder beetle. These guys usually come into a home when there is an absence of a life that was there originally but had since died out or decayed. it also kinda looks like it’s wearing his outfit :)
Stede would be a
Tumblr media
a blue rose/flower chafer. these guys are very pretty, and love flowers. Stede likes flowers too. unfortunately, these guys are often removed from a lot of places because they shouldn’t be there, because they love flowers but end up accidentally hurting them (chafing them.)
Ed would definitely be
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A deaths head hawk moth. these guys look really scary, and they even have a skull on their back, but if you really get close you’ll find out that these guys are actually wide eyed and very fluffy. cute little bugs
Alma would definitely be
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a bee! specifically these metallic sweat bees. very kind insects but also very protective. most female bees are very valiant fighters and have a pretty nasty sting if they feel threatened. but ultimately hard workers who protect their hive against any invaders or threateners.
Evelyn would definitely be
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a ladybird spider. these guys copy an elegant ladybug in a mimicry, all so their prey can get close enough for them to secrete their venom to feast on them. really cool, and evelyn wears a lot of red too.
Melvin would be a big eyed ant.
(i cant add an image :( )
very hard workers and loyal to their queens. also diligent!

Fun facts about my OC.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is what she looked like as a kid. I tried to combine the white/blue color scheme of her Monster of the Week form with her teenage self.
Unlike her brother, she went to college, and was interested in joining the photography club. Unlike her past self, who is the president of the school's science club.
Unlike Gooch, Bo, Jessica and the Sophies, Erica, Stanley, Dressy, George and Harold, Hazel is a teen.
Even though Hazel and Melvinborg hate each other, she is a bit protective of him, and vice versa. She would follow him to the ends of the earth. And if Hazel gets put in danger, Melvinborg would do anything for her, because… he has limits.
Future Cindy loves Hazel's cheeky sense of fun, and she organised a custard-pie party for her last birthday. Things got very messy! Melvinborg was in hospital for a year, as this was back when he was dealing with the aftermath of being turned into a cyborg, so he missed it.
2x9's plot is drastically different from canon, as it involves Melvin and Melvinborg falling into a alternate timeline where everyone is backwards. Hazel is a villain in this timeline. In terms of personality, I'd say a mix between Mikado Sannoji and Emma Magorobi from Super Danganronpa Another 2.
PPV Hazel is basically the president of the drama club.
Hazel can never go all monstery, because she's too wholesome. In Season 3, Melvinborg tries to negate this by manipulating everyone but him (and his past self) into hating Hazel, making it easy for her to be turned into a Monster of the Week. Needless to say, it works out… too well, and Melvin and Melvin-Borg suffer for their actions.
Hazel's monster of the week form would use her diary as a weapon and would basically be a female Nikei Yomiuri, but I haven’t decided much about said monster of the week form yet.
As for her Theoretical Casting:
I think Hazel would be voiced by Kate Higgins, or Stephanie Sheh.
Her past self could be voiced by Cassandra Lee Morris.
Her PPV's voice would be Gabby Gabby from Toy Story 4.

Hi!! Could you please write something for Sirius where he and the reader had a big fight and weren't on speaking terms anymore, but the marauders pulled a prank and she covered for them, wanting to save Sirius from yet another detention? And she gets caught and is assigned to do something horrible in detention, so when she gets back to the common room the marauders see her and Sirius feels bad because she looked like she'd been crying and talks to her and they make up? Thank you!!
“Oh I see, you can’t resist me, can you?”
Summary: While you and Sirius are in the middle of an argument, you take the blame on a prank he and his friends pulled which leaves you with a detention
Paring: Sirius Black x Gryffindor!reader (little mentions of the common room)
Warnings: Talk of burns, fire, and a little angst I suppose
A/N: Hey hey hey, I wrote this as like 3 am when I couldn’t sleep, so please enjoy <3 And thank you for the request! Also there’s a nice ending (I apologize for the angsty ending on that last fic lolll) Ooo and if you’re interested, you can send me an ask to be added onto my taglist :))
Word Count: 1325
Masterlist + Characters and ships I write for
Requests are always open <3
Reminder that I do not support jkr. Do not interact if you do.
“How many times are you going to apologize for missing our date?!”
Sirius began to defend himself. “You know I—”
“Yes Sirius! I know that Slughorn caught you again! But you could’ve at least told me you were going to have another detention.”
“I asked James to let you know but—”
“Sere, it’s not James’s job! You need to be the one in the first place to stay out of trouble.”
You hadn’t expected to be arguing with Sirius right now. You were the last two left in the common room and it was far too late for anyone to be thinking properly. His eyes were filled with exhaustion and misery as he met yours.
He lowered his voice. “Please just listen to me, y/n.”
Your voice broke as you walked up to your dorm. “I can’t do that right now. I’m sorry.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You can’t ignore him forever.”
Lily’s whispers were a stab to the chest as it was going on almost a day without talking to him. “C’mon, you two practically never leave each other’s sides.”
She had agreed to a last minute library trip before curfew, just to help you avoid the common room.
“I don’t plan on ignoring him forever, I just— I don’t know,” you closed your book and quietly stood up from the table.
Lily did the same, though she was slower in gathering her stuff, allowing you to get a head start back to the common room. “Lily, I’m just going to go to bed, tell them all I said hi.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Now would anyone like to claim this wrongdoing as their own?”
Slughorn’s voice echoed through the room as he paced through the aisle down the middle of his class. “If nobody is willing to confess, I could go off of my suspicions,” his voice got higher, giddy with the excitement of giving your friends another detention as he looked their way. “Keep in mind, students, five detetnions means—”
“It was me.”
You hadn’t even realized what you blurted out until Sirius sat up straight in his chair, muttering your name under his breath. You didn’t mean to listen for such a quiet whisper of words, but it was nice to hear his voice again.
You met his eyes for only a brief moment before Slughorn stood directly in your point of view.
His voice was suspicious. “Really?”
“Yep, yes, yeah I um— I did it.”
You didn’t know what five detentions meant, and you didn’t want to hear any longer of what it could be seeing as Sirius would have reached that number. Knowing your professor, it was probably something cruel.
“Well, please see me in my office after dinner for details on your detention.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Good evening,” Slughorn started as you walked into his classroom. Did you have a good dinner?”
“Mhm,” you hummed, taking your eyes off the floor to find an eager looking room of children.
“I, um, have a group of first years that need a great deal of help in class. Which brings me to your detention,” he spoke to you discreetly off to the side. “You’ll be assisting first years in the basics of potions and brewing. They never seemed to quite grasp my subject, so I thought a review would be best for them.”
You glanced around the room of now very talkative students. One had already filled their cauldron with water. You let out a sigh, agreeing to everything he was assigning you as if you had a choice anyways
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Mr. HigGINS!” Slughorn's voice grew louder as fire shot up around the cauldron in front of you, dispersing itself in the air around you. The flame had died out within seconds, though effectively left burns on your hands and soot across your front. “No, no, it was an accident, Melvin!”
The poor boy that caused the little mishap had at this point disappeared, tears in his eyes.
Your professor looked at you, opening his mouth to say something. You turned around, excusing yourself from the room.
“Oh my, y/n, I’m sorry. You’re excused. Please see Madam Pomfrey if needed,” he called out with fake serenity.
You were on your way back to the common room, not even willing to bother with the nurse, afraid she’d keep you overnight to ‘monitor’ you.
“Hey y/n!” What happened?”
As you turned around to see who had called, you were barely able to catch your reflection in the armor stand.
James arrived at your side. “Are you alright? Tell me what happened.”
You shook your head, wiping the black substance off your lips and eyes with the back of your sleeve.
“No, no, it’s nothing really. Small accident is all it was.”
You walked away silently with James struggling to stay at your side, questioning you more about it.
“James! Please. I’m sorry for how I’m coming across but I need to be alone. Just a quiet night in the common room is all I ask. I’m fine, really.”
He nodded, offering you an understanding smile as he spoke the password to the portrait and climbed through.
James hurried upstairs and your shoulders relaxed upon seeing the room completely empty.
You muttered an incantation, igniting the fireplace while you reached your hand under the couch, pulling your book that you keep there out.
Opening the book had left little black specks falling onto the pages. You groaned, taking time to shake your clothes off entirely, next moving onto your face, avoiding the lump in your throat telling you to cry.
“Y/n?”
You didn’t have to look to know who was talking.
“Hm?”
“I-”
Sirius appeared on the couch beside you, crossing his legs. “I just wanna talk.”
“Me too, Sere.”
The feeling of tears gathering in your eyes dissolved as you scooted closer to him, leaning your head on his shoulder.
“I really am sorry about not being there for our date.”
You slipped your arm under his, hugging it. “It’s alright, really. I just—I needed some time to think about things.”
“But it’s not alright and I’m going to make it up to you.”
You laughed at him, not out of disbelief, but out of the fact that you’d probably wake up to a mountain of flowers around your bed and him sneaking food from the Great Hall to give you breakfast in the comfort of your dorm.
“How do you feel about dogs?” he teased, the cheeky smile present in his voice.
“Oh godric, whatever you’re planning, find something that doesn’t involve getting us expelled.”
The both of you laughed out at that, having a moment of normality, joking with each other until he brought up what brought him down here.
“Hey, what happened to you? James said you came out of Slughorn's— Oh, which reminds me, thank you—”
“Sirius, don’t apologize. I'd rather have my first detention with that idiot, then you getting your fifth one.”
He grabbed your hand, holding it a little too tight in his lap, causing you to hiss, pulling away.
Sirius sat up straighter with a look in his eyes that gave off the impression he was going to go assault someone far too dangerous. “That Melvin kid— the really clumsy first year, he um, caused a little accident.”
You finally got a chance to examine your hands, as did Sirius.
“Do you want to go to the hospital wing? I think you should go see Madam Pompfrey, we can go together.”
Sirius mumbled off his words, starting to get up from his spot.
“I’d rather stay here.” You situated yourself closer next to him.
“C’mon the burns don’t look good.”
“Sere, it’s fine we can just stay here. I haven’t had— I just miss talking with you and that’s honestly all I want to do right now.”
“Oh I see, you can’t resist me, can you?”
“Shut up,” you slapped his leg, the both of you disturbing the once peaceful common room.

The best blaxploitation soundtracks
The Blaxploitation Movies of the 1970’s were the first films made by black crews for black audiences. Filmmakers turned to black musicians to score their films and add an extra touch of soul and featured artists such as Curtis Mayfield, Willie Hutch, Isaac Hayes and Marvin Gaye. PFN's fantasy football cheat sheet is here to help you with your tough Week 4 decisions and also to provide you with Underdog Pick'em advice. NFL Fantasy Football Draft cheat sheet for standard scoring format · 1. Justin Jefferson · 2. Cooper Kupp · 3. Ja'Marr Chase · 4. Tyreek Hill. Up to date Fantasy cheat sheet for standard scoring. No need to prepare your Draft, whether you're a beginner or experienced player, just use this list and you'll be set. In Standard Scoring Leagues you don't get points for receptions, so you will have to prioritize touchdown-heavy players. In this format, running backs are going to be a priority, so they have a slight edge over wide receiver. However, a receiving running back is also important because you have double the chance to score. If your league allows it, I would start three RBs every week. These will get you the most touchdowns besides a quarterback. So, remember to do after those red zone threats. In the end, they will make the difference when it comes to Standard Scoring formats. i’m thinkin Mecole is gonna have a big game. And I think Clark and Thornhill will too. Honey Badger will do 🍯🦡 things but I’m thinkin because he was in concussion protocol they won't play him much, but when he's on the field he goes off.
Melvin gets to say hi, mini Melvin also gets to say hi. Honestly, I'm thinking our linebackers will just go off. It's our only hope versus Jamarr with our questionable cornerbacks. If we double his ass, I think I could trust Tyrann, L’Jarius, or Ward one-on-one with Higgins honestly. I trust our line to neutralize Bengals' runningbacks.

The United States vs. Billie Holiday features a star-making performance from Andra Day, complimented by a strong cast that takes on the roles of real-life figures. Based on Johann Hari's 2015 book Chasing the Scream, the 2021 Hulu movie focuses on America's War on Drugs, and how a famous blues singer became public enemy number one, at least according to the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. The United States vs. Billie Holiday was directed by American filmmaker Lee Daniels.
In The United States vs. Billie Holiday, the focal singer gains the government's attention after performing "Strange Fruit," a song about the lynching of Black Americans. Holiday refuses to remove the number from her set, which prompts Harry J. Anslinger — the commissioner for the Federal Bureau of Narcotics — to set up the singer because of her well-known heroin problem. FBI agent Jimmy Fletcher is assigned to frame Holiday, but ultimately becomes part of her inner circle, and even her lover too. The Hulu movie primarily follows the singer's life throughout the 1940s.
Related: The United States Vs. Billie Holiday Review: Andra Day Is Electric
The main cast for The United States vs. Billie Holiday on Hulu mostly portrays individuals who were close to Holiday in real life, many of whom enabled her drug addiction problem. Garrett Hedlund has a prominent role as the aforementioned Anslinger, but Day is indeed the main attraction alongside Trevante Rhodes as Fletcher. Here's a cast and character breakdown for The United States vs. Billie Holiday, including side by side images for the main historical figures.
Tumblr media
Andra Day stars as the iconic blues singer Billie Holiday. After performing "Strange Fruit," she's targeted by the U.S. government in an effort to spin the narrative from racial injustice to drug abuse. Holiday knows that the FBI doesn't have strong evidence, but also understands that they can easily sway the narrative to their advantage. Day voiced Sweet Tea in Cars 3 and appeared as Minton's Singer in Marshall. She received two Golden Globe nominations for her performance in The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
Tumblr media
Trevante Rhodes co-stars as Jimmy Fletcher, a real-life FBI agent who was responsible for Holiday's arrest, only to later develop a romantic relationship with her. A military man, Fletcher initially appears stoic while working for the government, but eventually develops a drug problem while on the road with Holiday. Rhodes headlined Barry Jenkins' 2016 film Moonlight as Black. He also appeared as Nebraska Williams in The Predator and Tom in Bird Box.
Tumblr media
Garrett Hedlund portrays Harry Anslinger, the commissioner for U.S. Treasury Department's Federal Bureau of Narcotics who believes that Holiday performs the "devil's music." Hedlund starred as Sam Flynn in TRON: Legacy and Dean Moriarty in On the Road. He also appeared as Johnny Five in Inside Llewyn Davis and Jamie McAllan in Mudbound.
Related: Evan Ross & Garrett Hedlund Interview: United States vs. Billie Holiday
Tumblr media
Natasha Lyonne appears as Tallulah Bankhead, a Hollywood actress and Holiday's red-haired girlfriend who warns the singer about looming threats. Lyonne portrayed Jessica in American Pie and starred as Nicky Nichols in Orange Is the New Black. She also headlined the Netflix show Russian Doll as Nadia Vulvokov and voiced Suzette in Big Mouth.
Tumblr media
Melvin Gregg portrays Joe Guy, a trumpet player who struggles with a drug addiction. He's also romantically involved with Holiday. Gregg appeared as Erick Scott in High Flying Bird and Marcus Parrish in The Way Back. He currently portrays Drew "Manboy" Miller in Snowfall.
Tumblr media
Tyler James Williams portrays Lester Young, a saxophonist in Holiday's band who is known as "Prez." William starred as Chris in Everybody Hates Chris and portrayed Lionel Higgins in Dear White People. He also appeared as Noah in The Walking Dead.
Tumblr media
Rob Morgan appears as Louis McKay, a businessman whose is initially described as "a boxer and a pimp." He eventually marries Holiday, abuses her, and then disappears. Morgan portrayed Turk Barrett in Daredevil, Hap Jackson in Mudbound, and Officer Powell in Stranger Things.
Related: Trevante Rhodes & Tyler James Williams Interview: United States vs. Billie Holiday
Tumblr media
Erik LaRay Harvey portrays James Monroe, Holiday's first husband who verbally abuses her while trying to please promoters. Erik LaRay Harvey appeared as Willis "Diamondback" Stryker in Luke Cage on Netflix and Del Chance in Godfather of Harlem.
Tumblr media
Tone Bell portrays John Levy, the owner of the Ebony Club who has a sexual fling with Holiday. Like many males in the film, he puts on a confident facade but displays poor judgment behind closed doors. Tone Bell portrayed Carter in Disjointed and Scott Evans in The Flash. He recently appeared as Nick in Fam.
Tumblr media
Leslie Jordan (Above) as Reginald Lord Devine: A radio show host who interviews Holiday throughout the film. He's a fictional character who asks inappropriate questions about the singer's persona life. Leslie Jordan portrayed Mr. Blackly in The Help and Beverley Leslie in Will & Grace. He currently appears as Phil in Call Me Kat.
Miss Lawrence As Miss Freddy: Holiday's stylist and a member of her inner circle. She is with the singer during the interview with Reginald Lord Devine. Miss Lawrence portrayed Miss Bruce in Star and also appeared in Empire season 2.
Related: Da'Vine Joy Randolph & Miss Lawrence Interview: United States vs. Billie Holiday
Dusan Dukic as Joe Glaser: Billie's manager at the beginning of the film. He seems to be doing his job; however, his client describes him as "crooked." Dusan Dukic portrayed a drug trafficker in The Terminal and a newscaster in Birdman.
Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Roslyn: Billie's good friend who wears an eye patch and provides emotional/career support. Da'Vine Joy Randolph portrayed Carla in Office Christmas Party, Cherise in High Fidelity, and Lady Reed in Dolemite Is My Name on Netflix.
Adriane Lenox as Mrs. Fletcher: Jimmy's mother who wants him to carry on his father's mortuary business. Her demeanor changes when she discovers that her son met Holiday. Adriane Lenox portrayed Rose Woods in Black Snake Moan and Denise Oher in The Blind Side.
Evan Ross as Sam Williams: Jimmy's FBI colleague who is curious about his success. Evan Ross portrayed Jeff in Kevin, Who Lives at Home and Messalla in The Hunger Games movie franchise. He recently appeared as Angel Rivera in Star.
The United States vs. Billie Holiday released in February 2021 on Hulu.

Izzy awoke to the distinctly unfamiliar sensation of pure, utter, and complete comfort.
He was enveloped in softness, and when he sat up to look around, he found himself in an immaculate bed of fluffy pillows and plush blankets.
He didn’t remember falling asleep, but he could piece together enough of the night before to recall how he got here. First, there was crying—an absurd amount of it, more than he would ever admit aloud. Then he had been soothed into a state of not numbness, but… calm.
Like a cloth that was wrung out of all water and was, finally, dry again.
Then Evelyn suggested bed, and he declared his disinterest in women, and she laughed through her declaration of disinterest in him.
And now it was morning, and he felt more relaxed than ever before in his life.
There was something tempting in the idea of just lounging in bed until something or someone forced him out of it. Had he ever… lounged before? Had he ever just lazed about and did nothing?
He honestly wasn’t sure.
So he buried himself in pillows and blankets, let himself just soak in the comfort and not think about anything.
It was nice. Nothing depended on him, needed his attention, required more from him than he had to give. No one to perform the role of First Mate Mr. Hands for.
He was just Israel, just some person, just himself.
Surrounded by fluffy blankets that felt how he imagined clouds to feel, he let his body go completely lax and allowed his thoughts to drift.
Evelyn said he could stay with her as long as he liked. He just might take her up on that. It meant his basic needs were taken care of, and he could instead focus on—the rest.
Like what he was going to do. He didn’t have any trade skills, nothing that he was particularly good at except the sword.
His eyes snapped open and he sat up, pushing the blankets aside as he all but threw himself out of bed. He moved barefoot across the room and, briefly, he wondered where his shirt and pants were, if Evelyn had removed them or if he had or if they’d just fucked off on their own in the middle of the night.
The house was full of noise he’d been ignoring, but leaving the room brought it all crashing in around him. There were birds singing and screaming and other awful noises that he had to wonder how he hadn’t noticed them just a moment ago.
“It’s the soundproofing,” an unfamiliar voice said, and Izzy whirled to face its owner.
A young man stood at the top of the stairs with a small tray balanced in one hand. He had black hair, black clothes, black eyeliner—everything black, save for his unfathomably pale skin.
“Not a mindreader,” the man continued with a playful little smile. “Just the first thing guests wonder when they leave their room.”
Izzy couldn’t lower the guard that had shot up so suddenly. “Who are you, exactly?”
The smile brightened with open sincerity and the man hurried to set the tray on the nearest end table, then gave a quick bow at the waist. “Melvin Higgins, at your service, preferably in life but, if needed, also in death.”
“The fock does that mean?” Izzy’s gaze flicked to the teacups and back.
Melvin’s lips pursed in what was almost a pout but without any of the hurt. “Sorry, gallows’ humor is hit or miss. Seems like a miss.” He gestured at himself. “I’m a mortician.”
Izzy couldn’t stop the remark that tumbled out of him faster than he could think. “Could be a bit less obvious about it.”
But Melvin just smiled. “Could be, yeah.”
“Sorry.” Izzy ran a hand over his face, letting his expression fall as he pulled it down, and sighed. “I’m not—”
“Acclimated to casual conversation?” Melvin chuckled. “Most guests my mother hosts are like that. No worries!” He gestured at the tray. “Some tea and biscuits to start your day. Mother will be in the sitting room when you’re ready.”
And then Melvin looked at him, a head-to-toe rake of his eyes, and gave a somewhat mischievous little curl of his lips.
“There’s a robe by the bed, unless it’s your plan to seduce the Higgins household.”
Izzy looked down at himself and became fully, suddenly aware of just how little he was wearing, just a pair of short, tight black underthings that left nothing at all to the imagination.
“Sorry,” he mumbled, and tried not to think about how strange it was he’d apologized twice in one conversation with someone he didn’t know.
Stranger still was how it didn’t bother him the way it would have once upon a time.
“Well, it’s been a pleasure,” Melvin said with a sing-song trill in his voice. “I’ll let you get ready for your day! I’m sure you and Mother have a great deal to discuss.”
Izzy watched the man who looked every bit the brooding individual he didn’t sound descend the stairs, turning out of sight. He shifted where he stood, then reached out to pick up one of the biscuits and gave it a tentative nibble.
And then he shoved it in his mouth while he grabbed the rest, and fuck, he wondered how he’d gone his life without tasting anything so delicious before.

Fantasy Football Week 3 Predictions
Tumblr media
(image by SN/Getty)
Whenever you are 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2 here are some people that you should start/sit.
Injuries continue to mount for fantasy owners, with Justin Herbert (ribs), Jerry Jeudy (ribs), Dalton Schultz (knee), Damien Harris (knee), and James Conner (ankle) joining the likes of JK Dobbins (knee), Keenan Allen (hamstring), Alvin Kamara (ribs), Gabriel Davis (ankle), George Kittle (groin), Chris Godwin (calf), and Michael Pittman (quad) on the injury report. Mike Evans also went and got himself suspended, so plenty of fantasy squads will be shorthanded.
