A summary of why CW Supergirl sucks, born from a year of growing frustration.

1.Inabilty to take a risk.

The only one they took was making Alex lesbian and Nia the first trans hero story. Then – fucking nothing. Good characters going dark? Not even Kara’s clone aka RedDaughter. Lobotomizer, who you know, murdered Adam, Lex and wanted to lobotomize entire humanity and hurt Kara “every way imaginable”, all of it was portrayed as “not her fault, blinded by feelings, dark place blah blah”, basically it was all Lex and Kara’s fault, no consequences for her character or arc.

There was nothing controversial, or when it was something like that (aka Lena murdering and lobotomizing people) it showed as something not that important, normal stuff, solved in one ep, no biggie, she was sad, ok???

I was also not even ONCE afraid for the main bunch of the characters. I was fucking SURE no one was going to die and yes, only addictions, villains, one ep randoms or secondary characters I didn’t give a shit about, died. That means there was basically no feelings, even during emotional scenes, what made this show super bland and in the end, forgettable.

-Plus, they knew they got the final season, they knew they could have done anything they wanted. And what they did was making Kara taking her glasses off. If this doesn’t fully describe what kind of shit this show was, then I’m Santa.

Basically WASTED POTENTIAL.

2.Degenaration of the main character.

Yep, sorry not sorry, as much as I love Kara and Melissa, who was born to play Supergirl and did everything even with the crappiest of lines, her character, looking at it from the perspective of 6 seasons, SUCKS for a few reasons:

-What made her unique in the comics, was ignored and forgotten in the show. She was made a female clone of Superman, that was treated badly by the writers. She got similar job, attitude, love interests, his villains.

What she didn’t get was satisfying conclusion (sarcasm).

In comics she was the outsider, the person torn between two places, an immigrant remembering her old life and forced to assimilate in a society of some C class planet, a girl with anger issues, bias, the guilt of being a lone survivor, a traumatized young alien. Something she couldn’t share even with her last living relative aka Clark. It all made her fleshed and complex.

But show ignored it, and made her a happy go lucky, fully assimilated perfect usamerican girl in love with humanity, uwu. What is disappointing, even if this Kara still has charm, innocence and potential - it all makes her boring in the end.

-There is no real character development for her after s1 and 2. She started as fresh hero who tried to manage her superhero, private and work life, while working on her biases. And then, dunno, we got Kara dealing with an every ep villain/issue and some other big season bad. How Kara’s as a character changed? She got more confident in her professional life as a reporter (still, a shitty one) and that’s it. All the traumas, bad shit that happened, deaths, problems, issues, lost love etc. I don’t really feel it all has changed her. I don’t even feel she is more mature in s6 than she was at the end of s2. I don’t feel anything that has happened during the whole series, changed her views, opinions, way of life. When her past experiences helped her later? She stays almost the same for the whole fucking SIX YEARS.

-It happened, because there is no real character arcs for her after s2.

In s3 there was the whole Reign aka her nemesis storyline and finding Argo and her mom, but what was the POINT of it? Beside that Kara realized she didn’t want to be krypotnian and didn’t really give a fuck about her mother, friends and people anymore…? And I still didn’t really grasp it, because the show made a shit way to explain why she didn’t feel at Argo as at in home anymore (because Earth was in danger and needed help? Because she couldn’t be Supergirl at Argo? Because…? Uhm?).

The same goes for s4, 5 and 6. What was the reason of Lobotomizer torturing and hurting Kara every way imaginable and Kara calling her a villain, if a few eps later Kara ended on the same place aka being Lena’s bestie without hard feelings, any consequences or fucking anything? What kind of impact Kara being in Phantom Zone made on her?  Fucking one ep, where she can cry in Alex’s arms and then, once again, NOTHING.

-The lack of satisfying conclusion (sarcasm again) for Kara. At the end, I have no idea what did she want, what did she dream on, what was her goal, why she couldn’t have it all, while she wanted it years ago and ALL OTHER CHARACTERS GOT IT. Basically, I don’t know why I should be happy for her, why should I root for her, in the end, I feel like I don’t even know her after six years. What is… fucking sad.

3.Heart and soul of the show. My ASS.

There is no Supergirl without Kara. It can survive without any other character, but NOT without her. And because, as I said, her character development/arc SUCK, we have a sucking show. And sorry not sorry if I upset people, but it happened because the show focused too much on other SuperFriends and other characters. Yes, Alex included. Because no, Kara and Alex are not the heart and soul of the show. Kara should have been. And I don’t get the blind, sometimes fanatical love for this relationship. It’s quite obvious it’s one of the most important relationships in the show. Still, a shocker, show would survive without it. Plus, it’s quite funny, how some people ignore the fact (confirmed by canon TWO TIMES) that for Alex more important than Kara was ALWAYS Jeremiah. Even when he was already dead. Fucking hilarious.

Anyway, my point is that even J’onn and his father got more compelling and emotional arc than Kara ever got and friendly reminder SHE GOT HER FUCKING PARENTS BACK. The same goes for Alex and Esme and Kelly. Damned Agent Liberty had a better written arc than Kara. Damn, Nxy had more compelling story arc and character development than Kara in s6. And it’s tragic.

Remind yourself when was the last time you were really invested in Kara’s story?

4.Fuck you, comic books.

I have no idea how people who actually read Supergirl’s comic books and others issues felt while watching. Kara being dumbed down (plus all the shit I have talked about). J’onn depowered. Brainiac being DUMBED DOWN and parody of himself. Mon-El depowered and in s3 cured from his allergy, zombied, bearded and forced into marriage with fucking Imra. Imra with weird powers. Garth who??? Death of Nura Nal (off screen), murdered by Brainiac. Manchester United and Agent Liberty wasted and turned into well, not anything too complex. Maggie – what? Lex – no comments, especially after how he ended.

And unfortunately, I feel that all of the original comic book characters suffered for the additions created by the show, aka Alex, Lena, Nia, Kelly. Like, you can feel they were the producers and writers “babies” and they did everything to made them cool and interesting (what ended with some weird stuff like Lobotomizer being a magical unicorn and Nia got some… weird powers. Whatever).

5.Creators hated this show, you can’t change my mind.

The fact Jessica Gossip Girl and Robert had NO FUCKING idea what to do with Kara or this show after s3 and the AK drama, is obvious. The sad fact is that the writers didn’t know what to do either. I feel like after AK, no one wanted to be associated with this show, the old writers left the show and we got bunch of new-in-the-business-folks who didn’t even care to watch past seasons.

In the end, it was quite obvious that all people involved were done with this show and just wanted out, cast included. And remembering what also the supercorp shippers have done, I can’t really blame them. Still, there was no love for this show in the creators room and it’s sad when you compare it to the shows that was leaded by producers/writers/actors who were fans themselves.

6.The show is already outdated. Focusing on so called modern problems made it forgettable and bland, when you compare it to other shows.

Yes, I talk about the Trump presidential plot in s4. Also, the whole immigration plot were so heavily, cheesy and dumbly handled, made no sense and was something we saw hundreds of times in other fiction (and it was handled 100 times better). Andrea’s alternative reality device that sucked people in it? Any Black Mirror ep about stuff like that was better and more memorable. I already don’t even remember why the device was so deadly. Technology bad? Oh, boy.

Also, I KNOW comic books were always connected to the political stuff, but you can handle it in a good and bad way. Supergirl made it usually cringy.

See how stereotypically they portrayed the president in s4. It was not even bad enough to become funny. The whole Kaznia part was nothing more than a xenophobic, stereotypical approach to Eastern Europe. Remember when J’onn said he keeps his black man appearance because he wanted to be… minority or something? Guess what? He became a black man because HANK HANSHAW WAS A BLACK MAN. There was nothing DEEP in it for fuck’s sake! M’gann? So, a white Martian who… pretends to be a green one and then keeps that, because… you know… there are better and worse Martians. Or something. You know, greens good, white bad and ugly.

Then, they did a good job with Nia’s trans-superhero story. And then, with Kelly, I see what they wanted to show, but it was a bad timing and well, all what she wanted to express was overshadowed by that one, line about Kara not getting what trauma is. The list goes on.

7. Luthors.

Cancer of the show. Sue me.

8.It’s so fucking dumb.

We all know that this show is about an alien who because of fucking sun became superpowered, can fly, wears idiotic suit and can’t be recognized because of glasses. We all get the conception. We get it. We know it’s for kids…

But there is a difference between following the worldbuilding and making shit so fucking dumb you roll your eyes so hard that you see the insides of your skull. The show treats the viewers like IDIOTS who don’t remember a shit that happened previous ep.

The… jewels or whatever it was called, that they tried to gather in s6. Not getting the idea of time travel. J’onn erasing the knowledge of Kara being Supergirl from Alex and like 10 max DEO agents, while all fucking DEO knew that, because Kara was constantly walking around as Kara Danvers in s2 and 3. And J’onn suddenly, out of nowhere refusing to read people’s minds, but being ok with changing people’s minds, but not informing that oopsie doopsie, he can’t change them back? And what was the fucking reason in the end? Writers want to tell me, that’s it more logical to change memories of Alex and TEN other people, than brainwashing ONE colonel??? Like? And the scene when Alex finally remembers, while Kara is dying after the fight with RedDaughter and her way to save her is… putting grass on her? I’m sorry? It was supposed to be emotional but I died from laughter? It was so fucking dumb that it erased cells from my brain??

And  don’t even let me start about Kara absorbing WHOLE SUN in 10 minutes because Jesus Fucking Christ people actually died watching this scene. Like, yeah, erasing sun, what bad could happen to Earth without it even for a few days. Like yeah, Kara, a living being ABSORBING FUCKING SUN. In like a few minutes. Do you know how fast the sun rays come from Sun to Earth? Probably you do, SG writers don’t. And then, she just what, farted?  And all what she absorbed came back to sun in a second? Uhmmmmmmmmmmmm…

And let’s ignore, like we ignored so many other shit, how many times Kara and other super beings totally forgot they had, ya know, superpowers, because plot needed it.

It’s all so goddamned dumb that is not even funny. And what’s worse, the show is not funny, the jokes are pathetic, it’s like watching your drunken uncle on a family gathering.

9.Contradictions, hypocrisy, blah blah blah

Do you remember how everybody was moaning how Kara is the strongest, the best, the strongest, the most unique, the strongest, the most amazing unicorn in Earth’s history? You could create a drinking game in s2 finale aka taking a shot when you heard something like that, hangover guaranteed.

It’s the whole show’s problem. Exposition and explaining instead of actually showing it in the show. They talk. All the time. Explaining everything. And then you get something contradicting.

Like how Danvers sisters are the best sisters, buddies, blah blah blah. And then we get aggressive Alex pouring her life frustrations on Kara (job, Jeremiah, Esme). And what is funny, we never really did them sitting down and really discussing it, and it’s a show about talking. I mean, of course, they would die for each other without a second of hesitation, but all people talk about are the couch scenes sniff! Sniff!, while happily ignoring the co-dependency problem.

10.Fucking fandom

Let me just say that I have a theory that says if the show is shitty and there is nothing beside the ships you can be excited about, the fandom turns into an utter ocean of crap. And maybe it would have  been not that bad, if the fandom hadn’t changed my perspective on some actress and basically made my SG experience a living hell.

what do you think santana’s coming out would have been like if she hadn’t been outed?

Oh man that's a question and a half. I was legit so thrown off by that. Not in a bad way! Always appreciate Santana questions, always. I just spend so much time being mad about what actually happened and being absolutely appalled by Glee dropping the ball this badly, it's hard to even approach the topic without that in mind. Even while thinking about this I caught myself wanting to curse the canon events out multiple times. But I'll show restraint and pretend, for a few blissful minutes, that season 3 doesn't exist the way it does. This post is going to be more of what I would have liked to see instead of what realistically could have happened because Glee lost out on my willingness to care about their established boundaries when they vomited The Outing scene onto my screen.

In my ideal world, Santana would have been allowed the baby steps she deserved. Sure, she was way deep in the closet in season 2 but by the end we see progress. She's so clearly isn't ready yet and that's fine, in this timeline we're not pressuring her in any way. It's early season 3 and she and Brittany are officially together but only they know it. It's a bit of an open secret in the Glee Club, too, but everyone, and I mean everyone knows better than to think it's any of their business. Around the time of one of the the Troubletones rehearsals Mercedes catches Brittana making out and Santana freaks out, initially. Brittany reassures her that Mercedes is their friend and it's fine and later we get a Sancedes scene. Santana at first tries to deflect but Mercedes lets her know that she isn't there to judge or anything, she just gives the advice that Santana would be happier if she embraced herself and all that usual Glee speech. After the Troubletones WRONGFULLY lose Sectionals and Quinn gets the girls back and Santana sees how ND welcomes them with open arms, she makes a decision.

It feels safer to make a public Glee announcement first. They sing a duet with Brittany and Britt does the talking because Santana is more comfortable letting the song (Melissa Etheridge's Come to My Window, maybe?) speak for her. No one is shocked but they're all supportive, especially the people who matter (*cough* the girls and Klaine *cough*). Will tries to make a speech, blah blah, it's just a wholesome scene. Ideally a Kurtana scene follows because this is my headcanon I do what I want.

Now people who already sort of knew are in the clear but it's limited to the Glee Club and none of them blabber to other students, particularly not in the hallway because they're good people who love and support Santana. Based on Santana's heartbreaking "I haven't even told my parents yet" I'm going to choose to infer that she was thinking about it. She's terrified and needs a Pierce family dinner, together with a supportive Whitney and Pierce Pierce to convince her she's ready for this. We get to see the actual scene, around Christmas time, with Gloria Estefan and Dr. Lopez and it's emotional but cathartic. They're with Santana, no matter what, though her dad does have an ominous line about Alma. Not in a rude way but in a way when a parent fears what might await their kid. Santana staunchly refuses the subject of Abuela and asks her parents not to say anything to anyone.

The school year goes on. Valentine's Day comes around and following some homophobic shenanigans at McKinley and Figgins revealing the same double standard as he did in Heart, somehow, Santana decides to take a stand. She kisses Brittany very publicly in school one day and maybe we do get a slightly altered version of the Heart God Squad storyline. Except she gets to beat up Joe because I said so. All is relatively well. Santana and Brittany are now practically out to the school and Santana shows concern every now and then, but she feels lighter. This timeline actually deals with the fact that she wouldn't suddenly have no fears about being out and jerks exist, but it's easier that she did it on her own terms and not through a political ad.

Regionals rolls around and Dave is outed. I'm sorry David in this timeline your fate is unfortunately still the same. We get the attempt but thankfully Dave survives and recovers. Santana visits him in the hospital, they have a conversation and it makes her realize that life's too short to be terrified of who she is. The final puzzle piece in this portion of her coming out story? Abuela Alma. And so Santana goes to her grandmother, tells her about having had time to reflect and the coming out goes much the same as it did in the only valid IKAG scene. And Alma rejects her much the same, breaking Santana's heart and causing her to lash out at the people who have been supporting her these past few months. After the initial shock of just having been disowned, she picks herself up and thinks about Dave and how she can't let others' opinions of her define her life. Santana's clearly shaken from the experience and it gets brought up time and again but she marches on.

Santana starts college and decides she's going to be upfront from the first moment on. She tells people about her girlfriend, how proud of her she is, how much she loves Brittany. When they break up, the strength fades as Santana already wasn't feeling the whole Louisville vibe. Canon events ensue, and when she moves to New York she gets to truly just be herself and live her sexuality for the first time. That doesn't just mean sleeping around, thought some of that too. When she gets together with Dani and meets her cool queer friends, Santana feels at peace. It took a minute, but she's fine with casually dropping the word lesbian and introducing herself as, well, herself.

I know that last bit wasn't necessary for the coming out journey itself but it's good for my soul to think about. I can't say what I've written is tremendously exciting but imo it's what she damn well deserved. This didn't actually answer your question in that I don't think this is what would have happened; Glee demonstrated that they had no desire to follow through on Santana's story with the care it deserved. But it is what I'd like to think.

im just doing yellowjackets but i do have some thoughts on other characters that weren’t on the team :DD

shauna as batman i feel like this is a obvious choice if shauna was a superhero i feel like her motive would be more revenge based than caring about saving the city and such blah blah i think that her more masculine identity as batman made the public assume she was a guy and she just kind of rolled with it and didn’t give a shit

jackie would be robin because he goes with batman obviously and he doesn’t do much but he’s good at sitting there and looking pretty

lottie as spider-man i love this take if lottie wasn’t spider man she would definitely be batman which are two very different super hero’s and yet i just think she fits spider man’s dorky little personality and this one just fits ok

even though nats favorite super hero is the flash she would definitely be iron man and she would never admit that the way people online are like “i’m spider-man!!” she feels that way about flash sounds random but makes sense when you think about it also her personality is very tony stark iron man has the coolest suit in my opinion nat IS iron man

And this person on the NCIS I believe he's a clone wanted an Aventador replica and he said the current year and it's really last year which is 22 so he said I agree and color and told us and we went ahead and we got it ready and we built it and we have several models that are built and ready for production and we have approval and we sent it out to his house and he hasn't seen it and the standard thing to do is to leave it in the driveway and we did that and he and the keys are not in it now and it's fully filled and it's oil to the correct level the manuals in the glove and it's nice and registered to him and the bill of sale is in there and says that he just has to drive it because it's advertising because it's famous and so we are wondering when is going to go there and it's the house he goes to quite often and people are saying it's in the driveway on in a texting it to him they got pictures someone went to the window and pictures of it from the driveway and asking if it's his and say is this a new one is it a mega muscle car and since the super car but you would call it a hybrid car because of the speed it's a hyper car and we probably have to open up the low South Dallas 50 because you can't go that speed anywhere else and there's a section that's open but you have to move the car to it and people do it and it's repaired and mac daddy is going to give us a contract for it to get people to use it they get some help holding it and he is moving on it once the whole thing we done souped it up like our son said

When do you think Asami develop feelings for Akihito? Most people told me it's their first encounter but I don't really see it. What do u think?

Okay, strictly my interpretation, right? So I think those feelings sparked in their first encounter but took time to really catch hold until they burst into full flame. The progression as I see it, with illustrations. 

First spark:

Right there. Aki didn’t respond at all the way Asami expected. Asami is intrigued.

So he figures he’ll have the kid abducted and play around with him a bit. That’ll be fun. Give him something to do for the weekend. But in the midst of this idle diddling, this happens:

Aki’s accusation of cruelty penetrates some layer of Asami’s shell. You can see it in the closeup of his eyes, the discontented expression in the bottom right panel. Asami covers it up bottom left with some light banter and a smile, but I think this is the moment some part of Asami responds to Aki as one human being to another. That humanity is driven home at the end of the first chapter:

Asami is nonplussed by his own reactions to Aki’s naked emotions. These are feelings he shut off long ago. Again, he covers up with banter and tries to move on, but he can’t stay away. In Embrace the Heat of the Night, he makes up the LAMEST OF THE LAME excuses to seek Aki out. (It was raining. At 2:00 in the morning. He’s a freaking billionaire and doesn’t own a damned umbrella?) 

Then there’s the interview sensei conducts with Asami (you can find this at the end of the published volume 3.) The interview takes place in Club Sion during the events of Bodychase, where Aki has sneaked into the club. Asami avoids almost all of sensei’s interview questions and instead muses on Aki. He is DEAD GONE at this point, only he doesn’t know it. 

His own feelings bite him on the ass right here, chapter 9 (the start of volume 3):

Aki has come to him for once! But only for a favor, to save his friends. Not of his own accord, not in accordance with anything Aki might feel for Asami. And Asami is pissed. And that brings us to one of the most quizzical frames in the entire series:

I think this is Asami’s last desperate attempt to convince himself he hasn’t fallen completely for this cheeky kid. It’s cruel (as this one statement has repercussions for Aki all through the next four or five volumes, shaking his confidence and own self-image, leaving a shadow of doubt between them.) But I think it also shines a light on Asami’s need to push away these feelings. What is he afraid of? Weakness? Loss? But he can’t stay in denial for long, not with the drama that surrounds him. He’s pushed to express himself by events:

Again, he’s covering his feelings, but it’s clear. He’s angry–not at Aki’s supposed betrayal but at his own reaction to the possibility of losing Aki, of having left him in danger, of the flood of relief at seeing that he’s okay. This is basically “Thank God you’re all right! I’m never letting you go again!” 

But he does. Or rather, Aki is torn from him, swept away by Fei Long, and that only further draws Asami to openly declare himself. Akihito is his and his alone. He’s in love.

ETA: IMO, Asami falls for Aki way faster than Aki falls for Asami.

the hell is mystreet season 6??

ok so before i start this

1) ive never posted shiiiit on tumblr before so watch me suffer, im just here to talk about stuff that my friends who dont know anything about aphmau have to listen to me rant about for hours on end

2) i havent seen mystreet in like years (except season 3, i watch that frequently since im laurance and shadow knight deprived) so please bear with me because i might be completely wrong on this lol. it’s just like, pointing out things i remember

3) im sure someones already talked about this but who cares

4) im gonna do this stupid thing where i just explain myself a bit at first, if you dont want to read that just skip to the part where you see “the actual thingy:” in bold and italics 

5) mild disclaimer; i am completely aware that jessica is not a professional writer. i know that she did her best to appeal to her fans, and honestly, respect for that. while this post will come off as aggressive and probably look like hate, that’s not my intention in the slightest. it’s just... intense criticism. im sure y’all probably already know that, but yeah, just stating that anyways. i do believe that jess is doing her best, and in no way do i want to dismiss any hard work she’s done. that being said; prepare for a very strongly opinionated post.

one of the main reasons i stopped watching aphmau back in 2017 was the mess that was season 4. like, in the first few episodes of the emerald secret, i thought “woah!! this is kinda cool, im a sucker for mystery!” because of course i was, it was something new and something exciting. the only problem i had with it at the time was kim, but that’s just because i always found her annoying and out of place. i just didn’t understand why garroth dragged her along and honestly i still don’t to this day BUT, moving on.

anyways, as the season progressed, 13 year old me was of course just “:0!!” the entire time--that is, up until the reveal of the main villain. i remember watching the episode, seeing the reveal of ein, and then stopping. like, just for a quick break, but i was still just overwhelmingly disappointed. like, and this was the time when pdh was airing and ein just got made alpha (i think?) and i had really really liked eins character in pdh. either way, that really sucked and actually opened my eyes to a lot of things.

one of the main things bein’ the fact that this was supposed to be a slice of life kinda series that decided to take a turn to a more edgy kinda approach. which, i guess i regularly wouldnt mind? but seeing as mcd was kinda bein neglected at the time it just didnt sit right with me. BUT WHATEVER, point is i stopped watching mystreet all together at the end of season 4.

like, a whole year later my brother tells me that shit’s getting intense in season 5 + 6 of mystreet, and my brilliant self decided to give it a shot--but i refused to watch all of season 5, so i only stepped in when ein made an appearance. so whenever that was, that’s where i picked up because i didnt care enough to see 

and y’know--i honestly didn’t hate it at first. in fact, i found it oddly cool. it wasn’t enough to get me into aphmau again, but it was enough to where i was intrigued. i dont know why, but i never watched the finale, so i didnt see the ending until just a few weeks ago--but back then, i thought it was neat. looking back on it however... im just so confused. 

side note: only got back into aphmau this time around because of mcd. mainly because like, i adore the first season and the first half of the second season. and being nearly 18 now, im a lot more appreciative of plot and well-written characters n junk.

ok back on track. imma stop spilling out my story of how i got back into aphmau, and lets just skip to what rewatching mcd made me realize of season 6′s plot and shit:

-emmalyn. how the fuck does ghost even remotely exist? if she’s emmalyn as claimed, then why have we already seen emmalyn in the mystreet universe alive? look i get that creators can do whatever they want with their stories but at the same time please provide some sort of explanation good god. and maybe they did and i just havent seen it, so if there is one--let me know. but until that day imma just sit here confused as fuck

-ok so imma just be real, the whole ‘ultima’ thing is just... not great. in my opinion, anyways. like... i saw someone mention this in another post, but if this ultima stuff was like, a really big deal, why isnt it mentioned in mcd? though i suppose since its a curse of sorts, it could be later on past the time period in which mcd takes place--but even then, how did it manage to make its way into aaron’s family bloodline? 

-WHY IS EVERYONE AT STARLIGHT ITS JUST SO CONVINIENT like what happened to this place being the most expensive shit on the planet or whatever, and how the gang happens to run into like, the werewolf trio and blaze and kai and guy and nate all of these people like god damn life doesnt WORK LIKE THAT 

-im sorry but turning people into relics? thats... thats the best you could come up with? plus, like, how does that even work? in mcd it’s established that relics are separate entitles that choose their wielder, based on a ‘personal’ connection (being a descendent of a previous wielder) or if they’re a good match personality and (i think?) moral wise. so the whole turning-people-into-relics doesnt make much sense to be honest. 

-irene really over here using her god powers to only keep her friends alive like god damn not a great god if you ask me 

-can i talk about how incredibly predictable aphmaus death was? like i just kinda sat there waiting for it to happen and when it did i literally went “haha! wonder when she’ll be revived” because god forbid we actually kill off characters 

-when aphmau + demon warlock fought in the irene dimension there was no passage of time whatsoever in the real world whiiiiiiiiich really bothers me because they fought in there for at least a few minutes

-speaking of aphmau and the demon warlocks fight does it bother anyone else that it had to be aaron who took over the fight?? like we get it hes the big protector blah blah blah but god damn it wouldve been cooler if aphmau had fought this battle as her. aaron fighting this battle was so underwhelming

-...love. like, thats the only thing thats needed to break out of a forever potion? love? LIKE YEAH, GOOD GUYS GOTTA WIN SOMEHOW, but its just so cliche and overdoneeee

-oh yeah and also when travis went bonkers and became the demon warlock or whatever, why’d he only take over katelyn and garroth?? like, zane had been influenced by the potions in the past as well? DONT GET ME WRONG--i do love some good brother edge, but uh, the demon warlock was just bein kinda a dumbass by not possessing zane too just sayin’

-can aaron please go to fucking jail for mass murder now like holy shit, he just got sent home on a fuckin boat. also why did blaze forgive him for killing him thats not even remotely realistic. then again, nothing in mystreet has ever been realistic when it comes to characters and motives and personalities, (cough katelyn being actually abusive and travis being an actual pervert) but yknow whatever

-katelyn and kawaii chan literally added nothing to the plot whatsoever. like lets be real, katelyn lost her personality the moment season 5 started and kawaii chan just kinda sits there :I

-ok im sorry this was bound to come up but cmon guys imagine laurances potential if he was in season 6 like god damn this is beyond maddening. AND YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A REALLY REALLY COOL PARRALLEL?? IF IT WAS LAURANCE WHO SNAPPED GARROTH OUT OF HIS MIND CONTROL THING, because it would mimic laurance’s speech to get garroth to snap out of his rage in season 1, episode 100 of minecraft diaries. like how fuckin rad would that have been? missed opportunity 

-also?? why does kim/ghost know magicks?? like, if i remember correctly, emmalyn is a scholar--not someone who knew magicks. i mean, i guess research? study?? but its been established that knowing how magicks works =/= being able to use magicks. i dunno, just doesnt seem right i guess. maybe its explained, i wouldnt know (yes i know that makes me look like a dick leave me alone)

-melissa should have stayed dead. LIKE, NO, ITS NOT AS SIMPLE AS “haha it takes more than a few bullets to kill me”??? look ive got nothing wrong with melissa (cough lie cough) but yknow it would have just been cool a character... stay dead? for once? its just too fuckin cliche that shes alive god damn

-can i also just say the only good thing that came out of season 6 was travis’ dads sacrifice like damn that made me actually sad

-howww was lucinda turned into a relic. or yknow, anyone else? like im sure they explain it better in the actual show i just dont remember, but its just that easy? turning anyone into a relic? granted, a normal person wouldnt be able to produce a good relic, but idk man. IM JUST SAYING; that the only really powerful relics that aphmau should have been able to wield is the one that aaron + zane produced because shad relic and esmund relic moment. lucinda isnt even like, connected to a divine warrior. ALSO, another point, if its seriously that powerful of a relic getting one from just a magic user like lucinda, why go through the trouble? i mean i guess ofc youd want the “all powerful” one that the ultima produces but i mean damn whats the point

-ok this is just going to bother me but in one of the episodes (i think might have been in season 5 actually) where that like, guardian dude was chasing aphmau and zane and at one point they split up and the dude just chuckles at zane diverting paths and goes under his breath “youre not the important one here”, suggesting that aphmau somehow is? first of all, id argue that any ro’meave is significantly more important than aphmau was, especially not knowing much about her other than that shes with aaron. i might be missing some bits an pieces, but if i was that dude id forget about aphmau and go after zane 

-killing off derek for shock factor sucked, and i know the moment was supposed to be really sad because like “oh :( aarons dad is sacrificing himself for his son” but lets be real dereks still was a shitty father and i dont think his reasons for doing what he did was very good at all

-less about plot or more like: why the absolute fuck did the gang bring kim along instead of, oh i dont know, a life-long friend? like, laurance or dante maybe?? im sure its explained, i never saw aphmaus year or most of season 5, but god DAMN id hate to be apart of this friend group AND GOD LIKE, imagine reconnecting with an old friend who ends up getting closer to your best friends and taking priority in their lives over you (cough laurance) like god damn lol

-im just going to preface this one with: i dont remember everything that’s happened, so if im wrong i apologize in advance--but (you actually can correct me if im wrong and please do) didnt like, irene reincarnate her friends in order to give them better lives? I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE, ITS JUST WHAT I REMEMBER--however, if im correct, then:

a. why the hell would she bring back someone like zane, or gene, or ivy, etc.

b. why the hell do they all have the same exact names? first and last? again, im aware that the whole mystreet+mcd tie wasn’t originally supposed to be there, but i dont think that means such a coincidence can be excused? its just a bit much if you ask me.

c. why the hell is the fact that (as much as i literally hate this) aaron is a decedent of shad being ignored? like, you’d think that something like this would be something thats actually important, or something the demon warlock couldve taken advantage of. or are we completely erasing every other connections to divine warriors besides aphmau + irene? because even if irene did reincarnate them or do whatever it is she did, does she even have the power to sever the connections between them and their ancestors? my guess is, no.

d. speaking of irene why on earth was aphmau able to talk to/see irene, they’re literally the same person are they not? did she like, fuckin reincarnate herself without actually doing it?? BUT--i will give it to them, the demon warlock did refer to aphmau as something along the lines of being “one of the 3 parts of her broken soul” or something like that. however, my point still remains. also what are the other two did i miss that or is it never explained

now; if irene in fact did not ‘reincarnate’ her friends then please ignore that little bit right there :)

but yes, those are a few of the problems i have with season 6 off the top of my head. i would go into like, season 4 and 5 more as well, but i honestly didnt feel like it. at some point i might go into other things, like how important laurance could have been to the plot of these later seasons, or HELL, even dante. i might also go into what could have made season 4, 5, and 6 actually good--maybe... a rewrite? perhaps? but im getting too far ahead of myself, so i just leave you with this for now.

and i know that as soon as i post this 15 more things are just going to pop into my head BUT im going to try and not edit this post because why stress myself with that even more

Hello everyone I am here to tell you about the Mexico production of spring awakening

ok so they have a smaller set than a lot of sa productions but i think it's used really well. it kind of looks like the inside of a church? anyways mama who bore me is very pretty and the girl who plays wendla is melissa barrera, and she's really good. the adult women's dress in this is really good, it's very fun to look at. it's all stripey.

mama who bore me reprise is iconic incredible. the girls are wearing their victorian combination underwear things i love it. during the end part, ilse is just going off during the "mama who bore me" low parts it's amazing jdhjf hnngh.

anyways the boys are all wearing little green pants for their uniform. very cute. i love this moritz (pepe navarrete) he reminds me a lot of vienna moritz (wolfgang turks) like a very cute moritz. the lighting during all that's known? iconic. tbol slaps in this. so good. iker madrid is one of my fave hanschens and that might be due to his riff on "khakis" <3

then the adults come out and they actually hold picture frames whenever they're playing school people which i think is really cool.

the girls come out for my junk and they have such cute costumes and the my junk staging is really good and martha and anna dance together hhnnng gay rights! also martha has such a good voice in this production. ivonne garza your hand in marriage

next is touch me and it's so good in this version and it slaps. the lighting? incredible. the singing? amazing. ernst's solo? (this is a pun because they are saying 'solo' in the song) but anyways ernst's solo is amazing. (arturo valdemar iconic.) ugh it's so good. moritz sock excellence.

anyways i really love this wendla so much she's so great <3 and this melchior (mauricio romero) is also really good. but i mean it's word of your body. it sounds very pretty in spanish though.

anyways here comes moritz to tell them he passed it's very sweet they hug. when hanschen says "the middle terms" either otto or georg hits him with a book which is very funny. and the melchritz hug is so cute jdhgjhd like moritz jumps into melchior's arms like he's a koala and i do not envy melchior having to hold him the entire scene but.

the girls come on and they actually have the medicine ball and thea sits on it i love them. anyways during the dark i know well martha's mother holds a smaller picture frame when talking to her and then the other girls sleep on the medicine ball it's really cool and interesting. martha's voice is very unique in this production, it's very deep. ilse's voice is also really pretty it sounds so good.

and then there were none also slaps in this. moritz </3 :(

once again i come to appreciate the lighting its wonderful. and during the part where moritz goes "they're not my home, not anymore" and the boys start singing in the background, they move from further upstage to further downstage. and the blocking during the part where all the boys join in so good ikfghkjd and the energy? they're like jumping and headbanging hnng lighting!!

ugh it's good.

they use the swing in mirror blue night too it's really cool. and moritz wanders off the stage and it sounds so good ksdjghksj and the cello/bass really came in during this part it's good

the weird mirror blue night choreo is somewhat better because it's faster and melchior looks less confused when he's doing it. i believe also sounds really good. everything in this production sounds really good watch it!

ok act 2

the guilty ones, as customary in this production, slaps. and the choreography is really good.

moritz's hair is thankfully not bad in act 2 (phew) also he has more of metal voice (?) like there's more of a rasp on some notes, esp. the high notes in don't do sadness. it's very good. moritz sock excellence again. and he's headbanging and the energy! yes! dds is faster than it usually is but it's so good.

also ilse (roxana puente) is just so good. and i like her costume. she just sounds so sad and i want to give her a hug. :( and the flowers are really pretty.

and when the two songs overlap it's jisdhfus uhhghghhg watch it! i can't describe it ugh it's so good.

also the audience claps after every song where there's a break and they're so enthusiastic and it makes me really happy

moritz dies and it's sad. he's like crying i can't

also shoutout to whoever arranged the music it's really good there's a lot of strings going on.

the high notes as well? impeccable. melchior is so good.

the adults come on with their picture frames. mauricio romero reminds me of aneurin barnard in totally fucked, he has similar energy. totally fucked is just so good in this production. the choreography, the lights, the energy, the singing, wonderful. during the second chorus they all do this choreography and it's really good. also hanschen does a riff during his solo and the energy is so good. sfkhjdfkj and stuff flashes on the walls watch it please! people are saying hey and i just dkfjghdjg and the guitar i'm going insane

anyways totally fucked ends. oh hey vineyard scene. ernst is shorter than hanschen in this production which is pretty cute and they're just relaxing on the stage it's really sweet. and the audience isn't laughing too much. which is nice. anyways iker madrid is a more andy mientus-esque hanschen and it works. and the lighting there are like little stars that spin around i just yes! they kiss and it's just very cute. this entire vineyard scene is just very sweet and cute and dkfhglkdjfg hanschen slowly leans in and like caresses ernst's face shhhhskrgjhsj gay rights dkfhdlk

the vineyard scene is very cute. then wendla is pregnant blah blah blah. whispering is super pretty in this one, and i have great respect for wendla because she's sitting down the entire song and it's very hard to sing sitting down. also there's this very pretty violin going along the melody line (or something) and it's *moritz voice* so haunting. and the acting from the adults when they discuss sending melchior to a reformatory is very sad. the boys look like newsies in the reformatory scene it's so funny. always wonderful to see melchy get his ass beat.

when wendla and frau bergmann go to see the abortionist they're wearing these sick cloaks and when wendla screams "mama" it's just heartbreaking :'(

and they pronounce ilse "il-say" which i love.

the fog machine comes out during those you've known which i feel like is a requirement for any sa production at this point. and moritz just comes onstage from the audience and he's sort of bent over it's good! also the lights look really good in this scene which is really cool. and moritz is facing away from the audience when he first comes on and wendla sings to moritz a bit and i just sdkjfghskjdfh!! the drums snap in those you've known it's good anyways

the emotion! moritz leans against melchior i'm going to cry jfkhdjfkh

ilse comes on for the song of purple summer and it's very pretty and i just emotions! hnnfgdk and the stage lights up and moritz and melchior and wendla are still holding on to each other and it's just aaaaahhhhh!!!! moritz and ilse like interact and i'm everyone is like talking to each other and it's so bitter sweet and the harmonies!!

*sobbing* and the last chorus kicks in and i. ok. that was a musical. the audience gives them a well deserved standing ovation that's iconic. everyone go watch spring awakening mexico now.

and they have a totally fucked encore during the bows i'm going crazy. i love this.

tl;dr: sa mexico uses lighting, a great set, and just impeccable performances to create a beautiful and moving experience. it may not be too polished, but you can see the heart in the production.

I have a headcanon that all the actual adults in Teen Wolf have sort-of-not-really adopted Derek as their problem child- specifically the Sheriff and Chris Argent. 

Hear me out:

Though Derek is technically an adult, all the 20-somethings on this app should know that even in our 20s, we’re all fucking idiots who land ourselves in trouble. I’m sorry but a lot of us are probably in the “I need an adultier adult” phase(I sure as fuck am). 

The actual teenagers think “oooh Derek’s all adult and he probably broods in the dark blah blah” but he has no idea what the fuck he’s doing but he pretends to so he can flex on them kids and look cool and aloof and threatening or whatever. 

But the ACTUAL adults- Noah, Chris, Melissa, Deaton (fucking hell) Peter know he’s a  mess and needs help to adult for real.

Chris and Derek have some sort of begrudging allies relationship, all of 3B was them bonding and even in S4, he showed up to help him out. I feel like he looks at Derek and just, heaves a sigh, loads his gun(and his seventeen gazillion other weapons) and goes “okay Hale what did you do this time?”. 

And Sheriff, well, he knows all the supernatural crap, he knows how much of an asshole Peter is, and he’s probably helped Derek with research and other stuff whenever something supernatural goes wrong in BH. They run into each other a lot probably(added to the accused of murder twice thing). So as an officer of the law and as a dad, he probably looks after him from afar. 

None of them do it on purpose, but they do it. If Derek shows up at the hospital, Melissa will take care of him. If Derek sends an SOS text, the Sheriff will pop up and try to help him out. If Derek gets kidnapped(again, “it’s the third time this year Hale what the heck are you doing????”), Chris will come and rescue him though he would do it with much chagrin and even more eye-rolls.

The target audience for this show is teens so they’d probably look at Derek and think he’s got it all figured out because “omg he’s in his TWNETIES” but he’s a walking disaster and a hazard to himself and needs someone to guide him PLEASE.

Where is the Sterek? I’m sorry, I absolutely 100% understand what it means to ship potential. (I do it all the time.) I’ve just been on the outside looking in at TW for a long time. I thought there’d be more Derek/Stiles content. I’ve been highkey disappointed there isn’t. T^T I mean, I absolutely LOVE the scenes that are there. I just wish there were more. I’ve been putting Sterek up on a pedestal of “Wow they must have as much canon goodness as McDanno or something.” D8  Love the potential. I was just ready to gush over a presumed mountain of content.

My Canon OTP:

Umm... I’m trying to think of any I like.......... I’m so blah for this teen angst. Okay, I think Stiles/Malia is cute. But only in a very specific way. It’s vague to me right now if they’re actually having sex (or just making out) and if they are, I hate it. Peter/Chris! ♥o♥ I love all the AUs about them knowing each other as teens. Some serious Romeo and Juliet, yes! Big writing flop to not go all in on their relationship. Also I don’t know how the show is going to end, but I believe writing wants us to see both sides in this war. Monsters are not always evil; hunters are not always murderers for taking out the ones who are. Chris has come over to the side of the Supernatural now. There’s more understanding where he’s not just NOT killing them. He’s also protecting them. For a fuller, complete narrative, I think the series should have been framed with Peter seeing Chris’s original side as well. The two of them are the “adults” for each family. We need them to make peace. Through arranged marriage. Oh, also they’re both hot and should make out a lil.

Most Badass Character:

Hmm. I know I’m biased with my favs, but gotta be...... Chris because, I mean, dang. Oof the man is legit a total bad-a. If this were another show and he weren’t being overshadowed by all of these supernatural creatures, it’d be more apparent. But come on. The man can break out of a chair in seconds. He has the weapons of a small army. He can track and hunt. He’s got the moral code that keeps him in check and the restraint which comes with it. Sorry not sorry, there’s something hardcore about a man with a code he adheres to even if it doesn’t necessarily align with what he wants.

Most Epic Villain:

The Nogitsune is the obvious answer, but it is also the correct one. Hahahahaha.

It’s Peter, fam. Obviously it’s Peter. Sorry my bitterness of S4 is fresh. It was so OOC of him and highkey not even necessary. The only purpose served was a climactic fight scene. What even was his motivation??? Gah, so dumb and pointless. After he spent three seasons trying to get on everyone’s good side. Did I believe he was ever 100% sincere? No. There were too many sly smiles when no one was looking. But ffs, if you wanted him going evil again, you needed a bit more buildup than that!

Favourite Friendship:

Counts cause I say it does: Peter/Derek. LIKE! Peter loves Derek so much and I love it. YoY And Derek likes to cause Peter physical harm, and I love that too. Hahahaha. It’s a fun relationship. I love how Peter is always hovering and always just THERE at Derek’s loft. I love how when Derek needs backup, he goes to Peter. All the bad blood and distrust, but he still knows Peter will help him.

"I'm telling you, Mel! He was all red and self-conscious, I’ve never seen him like that!” Chelsea was widely gesturing, trying to explain to her friend the awkward scene she had witnessed the previous night. They were sitting on some sound boxes scattered on the stage the boys would have performed on in a few hours: they were in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, for the last gig of the year and of their tour.

Everyone was excited for that night: the girls were thrilled of having their boys at home for a few weeks before they headed back in the studios to record the new album. The guys were thrilled to conclude their second official tour and, of course, to spend some time away with their girls: they had booked some suites in a hotel in Peterborough for the whole week from Christmas Eve's eve until New Year's Day so that they could have spent both Christmas and New Year’s together and, just as Freddie had requested, throw a huge party.

“I wish I had been there Chel! I don’t know what I would give to go back and see his face” Mel chuckled, picturing Brian trying to disappear inside his curls. And she surely would have liked to meet this mysterious lady who had made Brian May blush.

The girls exchanged a sly look, Mel got up and dangling on her feet she got closer, looking at him through her lashes “Nothing Bri”

Brian narrowed his eyes, wondering why the hell was she grinning so wide and why the heck Chelsea had the same wide smirk on her face as she sat five feet apart, biting her thumbnail innocently.

“You told her didn’t you?” he snorted at Chelsea; the girl looked away nonchalantly

“You brat” he breathed out. Chelsea pretended to be offended and gasped.

Mel was still looking at him “This girl actually stole your heart, didn’t she?”

Brian moved his attention to her and scoffed “I wouldn’t say that… I just thought she was very pretty and she was very kind to me, so yeah… I flushed, big deal uh?”

Mel smiled fondly “Look at you all flustered just thinking about it!” she pinched his cheek and he waved her hand away, the edge of his lips lifting in a half smile. He knew Melissa could not be any more right: he had been completely starstruck by that red-headed girl and he couldn’t make his head around it.

“I’m not gonna see her again anyway, so…” he admitted more to himself than to her.

“Didn’t you invite her here?”

Brian turned to fulminate Chelsea one more time but she had disappeared. Brian sighed. They were alone and he knew he could trust Melissa with anything “I did, but she lives all the way on the other side of England… Let’s say my hopes are really low right now”

Melissa smiled again “You never know, Bri. The universe works in mysterious and unspeakable ways… It might just surprise you”

Brian let out a quick laugh “C’mon Mel, we’re scientists… aren’t we supposed to be a bit more objective?”

“Maybe… but we are allowed to hope we are actually headed somewhere, aren’t we?” she gently caressed his arm “Just, have a little faith in the universe. It knows what it’s doing.”

She gave him a little smile before stepping away and heading behind the scenes. Before going off stage she turned one more time “It worked for me” she said and Brian smiled warmly. He felt sincerely more hopeful, but he forced himself not to think about her too much. He was too damn scared to be let down again.

Melissa passed through the thick black curtains and walked down the few steps, heading towards the dressing rooms. She was still smiling from her conversation with Brian over science and belief in the universe. Science. Physics. Job. Her mind quickly connected those dots and she sighed to herself: she had to talk to John.

Earlier that month she had applied to a research committee at the Imperial – the college where she was studying – and just a few days before she and the girls had left home to meet the guys in Taunton, she had received a call from the head of the department: they had accepted her.

For some reason she had not told anyone yet, maybe she was afraid of jinxing it. But the research committee would have started working just a few weeks into January and would have lasted at least until June and then from September to November if they gained good results. Which meant she couldn’t leave London for at least six months straight and she couldn’t follow the guys on tour as much as she had done in the past year and a half.

She knew this was a big shot for her and she couldn’t be more thrilled, but she couldn’t help but feel a bit sad that she would have ended up being the one left out.

Besides she didn’t want to spoil everyone’s fun just a few days before Christmas by bothering them with her worries, especially John. But her mind kept on coming back to that and it was driving her crazy. She had to talk to John. She had to hear his comforting words.

As she opened the door to John and Roger’s dressing room her eyes fell on the two tangled figures making out on the sofa.

"Oh my God, guys! Keep it down!” she shouted at Roger and Chelsea, covering her eyes with one hand, the other still on the handle, ready to close the door.

Chelsea flushed and giggled in embarrassment, while Roger laughed out loud at his sister’s reaction.

“What did you think we were doing? Holding hands?” he chuckled.

Mel snorted still not looking at them “I was looking for John, you doofus”

“He’s not here” Roger stated the obvious.

"Well, you don't say" she was about to slam the door when she heard Chelsea shouting that John was looking for her too.

Just as Mel turned around, closing the door behind her, she saw her boyfriend coming up to her with a big smile on his face.

“Hey sweetie” she gave him a little kiss “you were looking for me?” he asked.

“Just wanted to say good luck for tonight” she placed her hands on his shoulders, leaned in to find his lips and kissed him passionately.

John pulled away and smiled “Someone’s in the mood?”

She smirked and gave him a light peck on the cheek “Just a good-luck-kiss”

John chuckled “I’m not sure that’s a thing hon’” he managed to say between kisses.

“You guys are so mushy-slushy. It was cute at first, but now I wonder if I’m getting diabetes” Mary walked past them, rapidly heading to Freddie’s dressing room.

John chuckled and Melissa reached out to playfully slap her bum as she passed beside her. Mary mouthed an ‘ouch’ before disappearing into the stall.

John shook his head “We are pretty sappy, aren’t we?” he leaned in to kiss her again, a smile still on his face.

“Yeah but it’s sweet” Mel replied between kisses. John was directing her to his dressing room but Mel halted him.

“I wouldn’t go in there. Rog and Chel already going at it and I’m thrilled by the idea of making out right on the couch right next to my brother” Mel chuckled.

John let out an embarrassed chuckle and took her hand, dragging her through the corridors. They were giggling and stumbling in their feet until they reached an unused stall and John closed the door behind them. He turned around and smirked at the girl, making her softly chuckle.

“You are a dork” she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed the tip of his nose.

John smiled and laced his arms around her waist, while slowly directing her to the table in the middle of the room “We’ll see about that, honey” he said with a nifty smirk. He glided his hands to her thighs and lifted her up so that she could sit on the table, while he placed himself between her legs.

She squealed and softly giggled before kissing him again. She knew perfectly well that she was only pushing forwards the conversation they had to have.

Melissa regretfully pulled away, placing a hand on John’s chest, who was trying to inch further, hands on her thighs and a longing smirk on his face.

“John, I need to tell you something” she looked down and the smile died down on his face.

“What’s wrong Mel?”

“Nothing, honey” she gently cupped his cheek “I just need to tell you this because I’ve been holding back too long. I got a small temporary job as a researcher at the Imperial…”

“What? That’s great Mel!” he immediately hugged “it’s what you’ve always wanted, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, it is” she sadly smiled “I have my first shift on the 14th, and I’ll be working 5/7 until June. Then again, if everything goes as planned, from September to November”

“But…”

Mel sighed “But that means I won’t be able to see you most of the year.”

John realized she was probably right. They had some songs ready to be recorded and had booked the recording studio for January and February. Then the plan was to tour for about a month in the UK to present the new album and in April, if everything had gone their way, they would have flied to America for a two months tour. Then again some recording in the summer and another tour throughout the autumn.

Mel was sadly looking at her hands, maybe regretting telling him just before what was supposed to be a joyful occasion. John noticed how miserable she was and quickly lifted her chin up to look into her eyes

“It’s gonna be fine Mel,” he softly said with a smile “we’re gonna find a way of seeing each other, honey”

He lightly kissed and then added “And I want you to know I’m so proud of you for getting this job. You deserve it.”

Mel smiled and shook her head “What did I do to deserve you, Deacon?”

John lifted an eyebrow “Deacon? That’s new…”

She smirked and drew him closer “What? You prefer John Richard Deacon? It’s a bit long to say everyti-”

“Stop talking”

She couldn’t finish because John crushed his lips into hers. She smiled into the kiss and wrapped her arms behind his neck. Melissa thought to herself that John was really good – maybe even too good – at making her stop worrying about things. He always knew what to say and how to react at every single worry she would expose him.

“You know you can’t kiss your way out of everything, right?” she managed to say between kisses.

John playfully smirked “We’ll see about that, honey”

The crowd applauded one last time. Brian put down his guitar to join the others upstage and bow to the audience. As he stood there, between Roger and Freddie, he tried to scoop the crowd with his eyes, hopeful to see a mass of red curls.

When he didn’t he felt a staggering pain in the chest; he was more disappointed than he cared to admit. Mel’s little speech on hope and universe and all that crap had actually made him more delusional than he would have wanted to be.

He stumbled behind the curtains of the stage and went straight into his and Freddie’s dressing room, careless of the interrogative faces of the girls and the crew that were waiting for them. When he heard someone screaming that the bus had just arrived to take them to the hotel, he didn’t even bother to change his clothes. He just picked up his bag and Freddie's and headed to the back door of the building.

He wasn’t sure whether he was sad or angry or disappointed. Maybe he was all three at the same time.

He climbed onto the bus and sat in the front, waiting for all the party of people to come up. When he exchanged looks with Melissa, she gave him a sad smile. He didn’t return the smile and looked another way: it wasn’t her fault but he could feet a gulp of rage coming from his deep throat and he knew if he had opened his mouth, he would have thrown it up all over her.

When they arrived at the hotel, his first impulse was to run as fast as he could to his bedroom to avoid any other possible human contact who could invite him to the band’s Christmas party. Freddie had invited a lot of people but Brian could not stand the idea of standing among his friends. He normally didn’t care that they were three couples and he was the only single one (Roger had tried many times of fixing him up with girls he knew but Brian had always kindly refused).

That evening, however, he thought he could have thrown up at the sight of them being happy as ever and him being alone and, what was more, “dumped” by the only girl he actually wanted to see.

He walked fast into the lobby and asked for the key to his room. The receptionist cordially obliged and as he turned to go upstairs he caught with the glimpse of an eye a mass of curly red hair getting up from the bar and running toward Melissa and Roger.

Brian felt his chin touch the ground. Chrissie.

“Chris! Oh my God! What are you doing here?” Mel exclaimed hugging the redhead tightly.

The girl chuckled and stumbled on her feet, overwhelmed by the energy the blonde put into the hug.

“I wanted to see you guys! I actually was at last night’s concert but didn’t get to say hi. So when they told me you had one more gig, I rushed up here”

“And you rushed up here just to see me and Mel?” Roger asked cockily.

She laughed and turned to hug him tightly as well “It’s good to see you, Chris. It’s been too long”

Chelsea was helping John and Freddie with some bags but it didn’t slip her eyes the way Roger looked at Chrissie and the way she hugged him. Don’t be ridiculous, she must be just a friend, she said to herself, trying to ignore the peak of jealousy staggering her stomach. She focused on the packing and missed the rest of the conversation, her eyes forced on what she was doing and not on the way Chrissie was holding Rog’s hands.

“It is… we have so much catching up to do!” she said enthusiastically, still holding Roger’s hands “But I must say, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for your guitarist… Brian, I think…” Chrissie tried to play it cool, pretending not to know that his name was indeed Brian and, more importantly, pretending that she hadn’t rushed to Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, just to see him again. And of course, to catch up with Melissa and Roger, she thought. Oh, c’mon you don’t even believe it yourself.

Brian still had his chin on the ground, but when he heard her say his name he startled out of his trance and stepped closer to the small group, clearing his throat to introduce himself.

When Chrissie laid her eyes on him and smiled warmly, Brian’s heart skipped a beat. How the hell did she manage to make his mind blank out of any reasonable – or at least normal - thing to say?.

“I see you made it, at last, Chrissie” he managed to say.

Chrissie felt a rush of electricity throughout her body, hearing him say her name. She nodded and quickly hugged him, as a way of greeting him. It was an embarrassed hug from both parts and when they pulled away they both giggled and looked down, flushing.

Mel and Roger exchanged knowing looks and Mel had to bite down her lip, realizing that Chrissie was the girl Chelsea had told her about. Brian and Chrissie looked immensely cute, standing there and looking everywhere but at each other.

Roger broke the awkward silence “Chrissie I hope you’re planning on staying the night, cause we’ve got a huge party waiting for us in the hall. Would you fancy joining us?”

Chrissie glanced at Brian, before turning to Roger and saying “I’d love to. But I have yet to book a room for the night… if you guys excuse me one sec-”

Roger placed an arm on her shoulder and guided her towards the hall, Melissa and Brian two steps behind “I sense you won’t be needing one, dear” Brian flushed and slapped him on his head, making Roger loudly cackle. Melissa covered her mouth to contain her laughter, earning a cold stare from Brian as well.

The party didn’t turn out to be that huge anyway. A hundred people, more or less. Mostly from the band's crew, a few of the hotel’s guests and some friends of the band. Quite a lot of people for a Christmas party in the three-star hotel of a small town, but not enough as Freddie had hoped.

As he walked through the crowd, saluting their guests and wishing Merry Christmas to everyone, he had Mary on his side, acting like the significant other she was. They walked up to John and Chelsea, who were enjoying their drinks by the curtained window.

“This party is a bummer” he breathed out, crushing on the nearest armchair.

“What are you talking about, Fred? Everyone’s enjoying themselves!” Chelsea rubbed his shoulder.

“Besides, it’s a great way of saying good-bye to the whole crew and wish them Merry Christmas” John added.

“I guess you’re right…” Freddie admitted “I just feel like there’s not enough booze and everyone is awfully… still”

The others chuckled, then Mary said, “Maybe it’s better not to have everyone hammered the day before Christmas… It’s fine, honey, relax” she gently rubbed his shoulder and sat on his lap to wrap an arm around his shoulder to kiss him gently.

Chelsea smiled and looked away, her eyes scooping the room to find her boyfriend who had apparently disappeared from her sight the moment she had left him at the reception with Brian, Chrissie and Melissa.

She hated to admit she felt some kind of jealousy. Unjustified jealousy, at that. Is it unjustified? she couldn’t help but wonder. She trusted Roger obviously, but a part of her still feared he could get sick of being her boyfriend and could realize he preferred going back into the one-night-stand game. She shoved down the last drops of her flute and furrowed her eyebrows as the alcohol lingered down her throat.

John noticed she was upset, so he placed a hand on her elbow to stir her away from Mary and Freddie.

“Are you okay?” he simply asked.

Chelsea forced a smile “Sure. I’m fine”

“Doesn’t seem like it”

“Doesn’t seem like your business” she mocked him, then realized what she had said and to whom she was talking to.

“I’m sorry, John. I’m a bit dizzy and… upset. Dangerous combo” she let out a forced laugh “but I don’t think I want to talk about it”

John studied her face. She had been upset since they had arrived at the hotel, almost an hour earlier. He knew he was on risky territory, but he needed to know,

“Did Roger do something to upset you?”

“How did you-” she started, but then corrected herself “No, he didn’t… I’m just wondering where he is” She decided to say.

John wasn’t convinced “Chel, you know you can talk to me, right?”

Chelsea turned to him and smiled, sincerely this time “I know,”

She sighed. Oh, what the hell, this is killing me.

“Do you know who this Chrissie is?” she asked, maybe more brutally than she had intended.

John scoffed “So that’s what this is all about…”

Chelsea smacked his upper arm “I’m not jealous, jerk”

“Never said you were…” John grinned “Look Chel, I actually have no idea who the hell Chrissie is but I have to say, if – and let me stress if – you’re a teeny tiny jealous, it’s not worth it. Roger would literally die – or better kill – for you. I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about”

He smiled at his best friend and when he saw her smiling slightly back, he felt he had done something good. He wasn’t sure he was right, though. He had felt the urge to reassure Chelsea, but deep down he feared she might be right to be jealous. He decided to keep those thoughts to himself and just warmly smile at her, promising to himself he would have done anything to spare her from any suffering.

If there was something he was sure of, it was that he would have done anything for two of the most important women in his life: Chelsea and Melissa.

In the exact moment he thought about her, she appeared in his sight, cheeks red and glittery eyes – probably from the alcohol she had ingested. She was stumbling towards them, anchored to who he identified as Chrissie and followed by Roger and Brian.

The four of them completed the circle of the small group. They all looked at each other, no-one knowing what to say. Roger broke the silence “For those who haven’t met her yet, this is Chrissie” he pointed at the redheaded girl between him and Melissa “we had some classes together in high school and she used to hang around a lot with us” and he indicated himself and Melissa.

Chrissie shook hands with everyone she hadn’t met yet and when it came to Chelsea she said “I know you! You were the girl who was helping Brian last night. Chelsea, right?”

Ugh, she’s nice. Chelsea nodded “Yeah it was me, good to see you again” she forced herself to smile politely, repeating John’s words inside her head.

“Now that we are all here,” Freddie started, getting up and gesturing to the waiter to bring them some more flutes of wine “I propose a toast”.

When they all had a glass in their hands, Freddie looked around to the group of people standing in front of him. Roger had crossed the small circle to reach Chelsea and wrap an arm around her shoulders and look her fondly in the eyes; John had his arm around Mel’s waist and she had rested her head on his shoulder; Chrissie was awkwardly standing a few inches in front of Brian but when Freddie made eyes at him, he slowly placed a hand on her shoulder and pulled her closer to him, so that they were now in some way hugged too; Mary was as always by his side, arms wrapped around his, head resting on his shoulder.

Freddie smiled, feeling his heart filling with joy at the sight “To us”.

The World Without Izuku Midoriya

A little drabble I'm doing before I go to sleep. Basically an analysis on what MHA/BNHA would look like if Izuku decided to give up before the story took off. Just A series of bullet points to be honest.

Sidenote: Takes place up until the end of the Shie Hassaikai (aka Overhaul) Arc. The reason of Izuku's absence can be multiple things (honestly gave up on being a hero, switched schools and career options, suicide, etc.), but what matters is that Izuku is in no way involved with cannon.

First off, the sludge villain. Izuku manages to walk past the manhole cover in time because he wasn't sulking over one of his hero journals for as long as he did in cannon. Maybe he wasn't there at all. Either way, the sludge villain doesn't find a nearby host in time, and gets caught by All Might. The sludge villain is delivered to the police, Katsuki never gets a wake up call, blah blah blah...

Dagobah Beach is still covered in trash, but does eventually get cleaned up, probably some time after the Sports Festival Arc.

Entrance Exams: Ochako doesn't make it in, but goes into General Studies with Hitoshi. They manage to become friends. The two students taking Izuku and Ochako's places are expelled the first day.

Katsuki wins the battle trial. He doesn't pay attention to the other matches, and doesn't have a breakdown regarding his superiority.

Momo becomes Class Rep; Tenya, to his dismay but ultimate satisfaction, is Vice Rep.

No one is killed during the USJ incident; everyone is fine, including Tsuyu, because Shota Aizawa refuses to let villains hurt his students.

During the Sports Festival, Ochako and Hitoshi get far enough into the 1v1 matches to get transfered into the Hero Course (Ochako started training her quirk more, no one ever payed enough attention to Hitoshi's quirk). Hitoshi gets 1st place, Katsuki gets 2nd, and Ochako and Tenya get 3rd (Katsuki beat Ochako in the semis, but lost to Hitoshi because of his pride). Shoto loses his second match to Hitoshi, and never recieves any closure regarding his traumatic past. Even though he lost, he still refuses to listen to his father.

The Hosu Arc happens. Even though Mirio Togata (One for All's new 9th holder) is interning under Gran Torino, he spends his time in Hosu taking down Nomu. Tenya Iida is killed by the Hero Killer, and Mirio only discovers his and Native's corpses when the Hero Killer has long since vanished. Everyone is understandably upset, especially when 1-A catches wind of their fellow classmates' murder.

Final Exams. Along with Mina, Denki, Eijiro, Rikido, and Hanta not passing, Ochako, Yuga, Shoto, Momo, and Katsuki also fail. Yuga couldn't use Ochako's crush on Izuku as an advantage, and therefoee they both ended up losing to Thirteen. Momo's insecurities and Shoto's adamant refusal of using his left side ultimately cost them, and Eraserhead beats them. Katsuki's partner will manage to pass (doesn't matter who they are, probably Hitoshi), but Katsuki will flat out refuse their help, try and take down All Might, and fail misserably, causing him to fail. He's angry about it the entire time.

Shiragaki doesn't corner anyone at the mall. He just stews in his fury, eventually drawing to his own conclusions about All Might before leaving. No one is hurt.

Training Camp. When the villains attack, Kota is killed by Muscular. Several Pros and students are also injured, before Eraserhead manages to end Muscular's rampage. Even so, during his absence, some villains raid the failing students at the camp, kidnapping Katsuki. Hitoshi was knocked out by the gas earlier because plot and drama.

Hideout Raid Arc. The Katsuki Rescue Squad doesn't happen. Eijiro can't get enough support for the idea, and ultimately drops it, though Momo still gives the Heroes her tracker. Katsuki ends up hindering All Might early on in the fight longer than he does in cannon because of the lack of interference. He does manage to get away, luckily getting found by a group of police, but the damage is done. All Might is ultimately killed by All for One, effectively ending his Era of Peace.

All for One goes back into hiding after that. The world is left to mourn their loss of the Symbol of Peace.

The dormitories are still greatly accepted by the parents. No problems there for Shota Aizawa.

Katsuki becomes more secluded from his classmates, like an angrier version of Shoto.

Provisional License Exam Arc. Katsuki and Shoto still don't get their licenses. This does nothing to help Katsuki's mood.

When the class eventually faces off against Mirio (who's even more powerfull thanks to OfA) Katsuki and Shoto participate because they don't care and Katsuki didn't get house arrest.

Katsuki gets the first move, but Mirio evades and counters him quickly and brutally. The other students are quick to fall as well.

Shie Hassaikai Arc. Mirio and the others still find out about Eri, but the raid goes... terribly. When Mirio confronts Overhaul, Mirio still gets shot with the quirk destroying bullet (aka QDB) and bothe Permiation AND OfA are lost. He later dies alongside Sir Nighteye, who saw this future and wanted to try so hard to change it.

Eri is once again taken by Overhaul. Soon after, the QBDs start going into circulation within the underground. Eri never escapes.

Even if later arcs manage to happen, it doesn't do much. As crime and villainy continue to skyrocket, the public opinion on heroes continues to wane. Katsuki is so pissed that he alienates himself from the class and practically torments them in exercises, likely leading to his expulsion. Gran Torina is left alive to grive the loss of his friend, his student, and hia student's student. Everyone will eventually be hopeless by the end...

...and when the end does come, the Leauge of Villains will be there. Backed by All for One and Overhaul's QBDs, the heroes stand no chance. Everyone in opposition is slaughtered, including U.A. and their associates. They quickly overtake a blood soaked Japan, before swiftly doing the same to the rest of the world.

All because Izuku Midoriya wasn't there.

Maybe that's how it happens, maybe it isn't. Just my two cents...

Bonus #1: Two Heroes

Mirio and All Might visit I-Island and the Shields.

When the island is taken over by villains, the 1-A kids and Melissa (who they first meet there since they just passed by her before, considering they don't know Mirio yet) try to fight back, but are evidently shut down early on.

Mirio can't help because he was restrained alongside All Might (the villains know immediately that he's a U.A. student).

When the villains get the weapon, Sam is left guilty, David Shield is kidnapped, and Melissa is killed. Wolfram delivers the device to All for One, who sets to work on making duplicates.

The villains quickly retreat to avoid being followed. All Might is furious at himself, and his students sense the foreshadowing that is to come in the following months.

Bonus #2: Izuku as a Bystander

Assuming that Izuku is still alive, he doesn't think much about what life could have been, but he still looks up to heroes, just not as much.

He goes to a generic highschool, largely ignored.

He keeps tabs on U.A., considering his former best friend applied there.

He's shocked to hear All Might being a teacher there.

He's horrified when he discovers the USJ incident.

He wonders if the Sports Festival could have gone differently, especially for Shoto and Katsuki (he feels bad that the latter lost to Hitoshi, even though Izuku easily saw it coming).

He somehow catches wind of I-Island. He later learns that David Shield was never seen again (for all intents and purposes, he's likely dead after All for One and All Might's rematch).

The Training Camp attack makes him feel uneasy.

He cries for hours at a time when All Might dies. He doesn't do hero related stuff for a long time afterwards.

From that point, he just tries to live a normal life. Unfortunately, when the Leauge of Villains makes their final move, the Midoriyas are left to live in fear.

To make matters worse? They both likely die in the crossfire.

That took longer than it should have. It's almost midnight and I need sleep. Bye!

So ... I was wondering. You are reading Ayano Yamana for the first time and I've read her for the first time around 12 years ago. And I can't help but wonder: do you think she is good? Storywise? Characterwise? Because I used to really like her. And now I've come to realize that it is her drawing style I like but her characters are weak af (tell me anything about Asami's character, I DARE you) and her stories are very much all over the place.

(Pasting in your other notes:) I’ve read almost everything she has ever published and until someone pointed it out, I never even realized that her Ukes are pretty much all the same character (Takaya - Val) and her Seme’s are all the same non-personality douchebags. I still think Crimson Spell is a valiant effort in giving one of her Seme’s a bit of a character, but in that case the story makes no sense and is super drawn out bc she obviously doesn’t know where she is going with it anymore (which … 10 years woman!)Sensei is sadly not very good at bringing across information without it being exposition or information sheets or something.

Short answer: Yes, I think she’s good. Working within a set of tropes, she still manages to find depth and freshness and has evolved over the years so that she has turned those tropes in her favor–considering that the first chapter was never meant to be the beginning of an extended series, how she has managed to take that beginning and spin it into a believable relationship took skill and imagination, as does the fact that she still uses the influences of that beginning within the story even sixteen years on. Yes, she’s good.

Longer answer: Sure, she isn’t the mangaka for everybody. This isn’t the series for everybody. It is extremely trope-y. Long-term yaoi readers may be looking for something different by this point. Maybe it’s not her; maybe it’s you, is what I’m saying, and I don’t mean that as an insult. Not every story is intended for every reader. And reading tastes change over years. Doesn’t make you wrong. Doesn’t make her wrong.

What you need to consider in order to be fair to sensei is to identify the goal of her work. Has she ever pretended that Finder is anything more than advertised? No. It’s a yaoi, as stated, a hot story of hot sex between a hot crime lord and a hot photographer and the emotional entanglements that entails. Goal achieved.

But I do believe a deeper read is available. Is it War and Peace? Of course not. But there is a complexity to the relationship between Asami and Akihito (and Fei Long, tangentially) that deserves acknowledgment. I don’t think fans would have stayed with the story through sixteen years and nine volumes if there wasn’t something more to the characters than pretty drawings. 

Your other points:

Her ukes are the same:  Visually, they’re similar, but that is true of many yaoi artists. Vald and Aki share a certain naivete but Vald is almost ridiculously good and pure (which is super tough to pull off in fiction–a flawlessly good character who isn’t obnoxious, which Vald certainly isn’t) while Aki, who is kind, decent and forgiving, is capable of negative feelings, thoughts and reactions that Vald would never entertain. Vald is also far more confident and self-possessed than Aki, who suffers from some self-esteem issues. Aki isn’t nearly as selfless as Vald, either. And you forgot Ranmaru, who is absolutely nothing like either Aki or Vald.

“Tell me anything about Asami’s character, I DARE you”  Oh man. Don’t dare me to do stuff. Okay–wait, did you really read this thing? Because sometimes I wonder because it always seems to me like this stuff is there. If you’re looking for it. Sometimes readers read with an agenda already in mind so they willfully overlook what doesn’t fit that agenda. There are plenty of moments that reveal Asami’s character (and this addresses your complaint about sensei not providing information unless it’s through exposition or information sheets.) And since most of the manga is from Aki’s POV so that we rarely get Asami’s interior thoughts, it’s impressive what she manages to convey about a character who is so emotionally buttoned down. The fact that he is emotionally buttoned down is a thing about his character and not a failing on sensei’s part. 

Okay, insights sensei has provided to Asami’s character: 

- Asami inspires loyalty–even from those who are in positions morally opposed to his.- Asami has a hidden goofy sense of humor, one that we only see flashes of when he’s with Akihito, giving us the sense that there is something Asami sees in Akihito that makes him feel comfortable revealing this side of himself.- Asami is indulgent with those he cares about.- He isn’t always adept at expressing it, though, suggesting a level of social awkwardness he has learned to mask.- Asami, while neat and appreciative of fine things, is nevertheless careless of his surroundings (never changed the decor of the penthouse, frex.)- Though enormously successful and capable of being ruthless, Asami sometimes makes bad errors in judgment (*cough*Sudou*cough*) when he allows emotions to get in the way (*cough*Fei Long*cough*)- Once attached to someone, as he is with Akihito, he fears loss, sometimes to an extreme. (We see this over and over.)- And just take a look at the recent neko extra, a dream Asami had that revealed a great deal about his character. The cool thing about that is how differently Asami views both himself and the relationship as opposed to what we usually get from Aki. Like how Aki is still pretty scared of Asami on some level, while Asami views himself as a caring cuddlebug, at least subconsciously. My meta on the neko extra here. I also found Akihito’s birthday extra to be full of surprising insights. In fact, I think the extras are where you will find sensei feels more free to play with the gentler emotions of her characters and allow them to be more expressive while staying in character.

I could keep going, but this wasn’t the meta I was planning to write today. But seriously, there’s plenty more. 

But as an example of sensei’s questioned skill, let’s take a moment to tease apart a scene I find to be brilliantly conceived and deeply revealing of Asami’s character, and it is done without words in three little panels. 

Get out your volume seven (or head on over to mangago and look at chapter 48 in volume seven) and look at the scene after Aki is dragged back and Asami ravishes him. A well-fucked Aki is lolling about in bed, having a Scarlet O’Hara moment, pretty much at peace with the turn of events. Asami, meanwhile, is in the shower. If you’re just racing through reading, that might be all you see: Asami standing in the shower. But take a moment and really look:

Notice that Asami has turned off the shower yet he remains in the stall, head hanging, arms braced against the walls, unhappy. Asami is unhappy and very much not at peace. Why? He got Aki back. He just plowed him into the mattress. Aki gave in to him once again. Isn’t that all he wanted?

No. Oh no. Sensei knows her character better than that. In the previous chapter, Asami peppered Aki with questions. “Is there anyone besides me that can satisfy you?” (Oo, one more “thing” about Asami, who may appear super capable but is unsure of where he stands with Aki.)  “Why are you confused?” Aki tells him “Why don’t you just tie me up and lock me away if that’s what you want?”

But that’s not the answer Asami wants and so he stands dripping and brooding in the shower. Asami wants Aki to choose to be with him, not to have to drag him back, certainly not to have to tie him up to keep him. He wants a lover who WANTS to be with him. 

Think about it. This is a man surrounded by people whose motives are always in question. And this point is brought home in the following scene, when Kuroda arrives to discuss Sudou. Asami’s bitter mood persists throughout the interview. Kuroda even remarks on it. The mood doesn’t lift until Kuroda leaves and Aki comes out to talk to Asami and THIS happens:

Aki reveals he is jealous of Sudou. He gives Asami the assurance Asami so badly needed and Asami even smiles. 

So that’s a lot of emotional characterization stuff going on in just this one scene. Is Asami anyone’s ideal mate? No. But I disagree that he’s lacking in characterization. 

That’s about as much as I have time for today, but I could go on and on. You can search my tumblr under the tag “you’re my loveprize in viewfinder” and/or “finder series” for more stuff if you’re so inclined. I was doing a chapter-by-chapter thing and got as far as the end of volume three with plenty of stuff to talk about, and honestly, I think sensei has only gotten better. Yaoi has evolved since sensei began this series and I think she has managed to evolve with it without a jarring shift of tone–because after all, this is still a yaoi in the classic sense of the term, and for that, I think Yamane Ayano deserves credit. It is a skill to play within boundaries and yet remain fresh after all of this time.

Since beginning this tumblr, I have read many many more yaoi. Are there better yaoi out there in terms of literary quality? Yaoi that break the mold and cast off stereotypes? Of course. But as an example of what can be done with the core tropes that make yaoi what it is while expanding those tropes without betraying the genre, I think it’s hard to find a better representative work. 

(I hope this doesn’t read as harsh. My language tends to get starchy when I really get rolling! I enjoyed thinking about the points you brought up.)

Yesterday was a good day, I had lunch with Nikki, the gym was quick, I walked and cycled and the restaurant was very busy so not much time for studying, but that's ok.

Today is about friends, if you have more friends then you can count on one hand something has to give, you are probably exhausted! People should have 1-2 good friends at most and that's it. Why? Well they can suck the life out of you! Don't get me wrong you keep in touch now and again with someone you call a friend doesn't count. Facebook doesn't count, I'm talking about the ones that are in your life daily, weekly, you get my drift? I've had several friends over the years some I didn't want to let go of but had to, others that I thought were friends that would call only when they need something ( you know what I'm talking about) and the ones when sh@t goes down, you find out who your friends are very quickly. Or only friends because your in the right circles. Friends who keep you on the phone for hours complaining blah blah blah. All a big joke, get rid of them! It's invigorating. You'll see. You do the and I repeat don't need other people's problems, issues or influences on your shoulders. Walk away.

So back to Nikki, I met her about 12 years ago, I had seen her around town years before but we never connected, I am originally from Long island, NY and moved to the upstate area after I graduated so meeting friends wasn't easy. To say the least, The people up here were like she is from the city..... small town small minds is a true statement for A LOT of people up here, not all but a lot.

When I met Nikki we clicked immediately. She is my person, so kind, we share a telepathy so to say, if I'm going through something so is she, if she has a headache so do I, we run a parallel with emotions and thoughts, she is my rock and I can confidently say vice versa.

I also have a childhood friend, Melissa. She is ridiculously funny, accomplished, and the one I look up to for advice. She is what I like to call my vision outside of the box the clarity I've needed many times over the years, she will tell it to me straight and I love her dearly for that, I value her opinion, she still lives back home, I try to see her and her boys at least twice a year.

Today I'll be picking up my daughter from her Dad's, taking her and myself to the gym and then I am scheduled to work at the restaurant this evening. I'm excited for today, it's going to be great! I have to relist a commercial property then away we go. It's Saturday, get up and do something!

Episode 9 - "And I haven’t spoke to Pule since the year 2005'" ~ Jessica

God damn it these girls pulled a fast one on us. I was so blindsided with the Nasir vote like damn. I knew I had to cut him eventually but I didn't think they would vote him out this early. To be fair, he brought it upon himself. That Ava lie was very unnecessary lol it made homegirl mad and sent him packing. Anyways, I can only trust Tim now since we've been on every vote. If push comes to shove, I might write his name down tho. I feel betrayed by Jasmine and Ava like damn. Jasmine especially I thought I could work with her. Melisa's betrayal I understand I lied to her twice pre-merge lol. But her excuse of her phone dying is utter BS. Now that I'm on the bottom, I could only climb up. I need to reintegrate myself within the tribe so that they could work with me moving forward. As for today's challenge, I was excited to learn what it was. I literally play Sudoku every second of my life. So I thought easy peasy I got this one. I went to do the thing and honestly my ego got tge best of me. I was so focused in doing it fast that I didn't notice my mistake. AND I DIDN'T READ THAT YOU ONLY GET TO SUBMIT ONCE DAMN IT. So yeah ya boi scored a 0. Part of me thinks I should still be ok. Tim is a bigger fish to fry than me. But then I also know my days are numbered. So yeah might as well enjoy my last few days. But I'm not giving up and I would still do my best to reintegrate and get to everyone's good graces. I'm channeling Michele Fitzgerald right now and I hope I can pull through and manage to stay alive. If Tim goes next, I will Chris Daugherty my way to the end. Watch me.

Nasir is voted out after a very chaotic day. I blew it in the challenge. I AM NOT DOING GOOD IN THEM. I do feel (kinda) safe this round. I do believe I’m playing the middle well. & Tim won the challenge. I’m assuming Nasir gave his legacy advantage to Tim (or Pule but I’m leaning towards Tim having the advantage). So Tim could use immunity on Pule but I would assume he would save it for himself. THEREFORE, Tim is safe for about 2 rounds. I did damage control with Tim explaining why I didn’t tell him about the Nasir vote and he said it was okay and blah blah blah. SO, melisa and I are maybe going to be working with Tim further to cover our grounds in case things go wrong. ALSO THIS STUPID TWIST UUGHHHH. So I need to figure that out as well. I’m exhausted. 

Ok so Tim won the challenge yey good for him. I just need to survive this round, then they'll be going after Tim if he doesn't win the next challenges. Lol he really needs to Mike Holloway his way to the end. And then there's me who needs to channel Michele Fitzgerald right now LIKE I really need to act like it's all cool, we good, I'm open to work with you guys again. I have no choice but to lay low in this vote because I'm in no position to dictate the moves. Right now I'm trying to get into everyone's good graces. I'm actually a master of making someone hear what they want to hear and I could definitely use this skill now to re-integrate myself with everyone. I think I got into Amy, Melissa, and Elle's good graces for now. I just need to tell them what they needed to hear, then I'll be safe in this round.

To tell you the truth I don't have the energy for this twist especially with whatever nonsense Melisa is trying to start already. She really pitched me a group consisting of everyone except elle, els, and ava who are my closest allies at this point. Especially since she's also pitching a group to ava with different names lol 😂 I asked okay cool but how do we use our votes bc it doesn't seem like we can just all keep them or all use them or how do we split but like no matter how you cut it this shit is going to bc messy and I'm just exhausted. I don't think it would fall on me if I just sit back but I already spilled to elle and els lol 😆 if I'm going out I'm going out swinging and messy haha. But it does answer why out of nowhere jasmine asked me "I thought you were right with Elle and els since the original tribe" mayyybe it's bc I wrote in the 4 with jasmine Jessica and Melisa about saving some of our votes for next round just in case, or maybe they were already planning this second group 👀 anyway it's too much I'm trying to get it ava v Melisa and then imagine if I just got ava to idol Melisa out while I'm turn saving elle els ava and my votes for next round 👀👀👀 is it possible? The way I would've won if I slowed down for 2 seconds I 🙈 ahhhhhhhhhh Long story short: it took me multiple submissions for the right answer but that cumulative time was still lower than the winner of the challenge. To make things short, Melisa wants to turn on the kick ass alliance and work with Tim,Pule, Amy, and Jasmine. GIRLLLLL. I’m not doing that. We just blindsided Tim and Pule with the vote. And I haven’t spoke to Pule since the year 2005. Plus with this twist it would just be a mess. I have a feeling Melisa might get in trouble if she keeps doing 180s. I need to steer clear of that if that happens. If anything… I’ll work with Tim on the side and leak information to him.

I think Amy may very well turncoat soon. She might have already, but as long as she isn't actively rooting against me, I don't really care. I thought that the last vote was chaotic well this vote said SIKE! Honestly I don’t know who is being honest & who is lying. I only trust a few people & idk about everyone else. I hope I don’t get blindsided tonight. As the numbers get smaller the lines of division are getting clearer but they are also muddled because of all the lying that’s going on. This is also the point of the game where people are starting to experience Survivor exhaustion. This game is definitely fun but after awhile not knowing who is straight up lying to you or playing you starts to take a toll. 

I have no idea what’s gonna happen at tribal tonight, there’s supposed to be a big alliance of 7, (me, Jessica, jasmine, Amy, ava, elle and els) but personally I don’t want to vote with them this round. I think Elle or Els need to be voted out soon. I hate this twist @Raffy! I don’t know if everyone’s gonna vote how they say or even gonna vote at all! Tim and Ava have been wanting Elle out for a while now so I’m gonna hope Ava will vote her out. I always feel like I’m in danger, but I don’t want to play my idol and be wrong.

I’m back with another voice to text confession Hey guys the game has been a lot I know I didn’t really leave a good confession last round so just to kind of catch you up on that I have literally been hearing my name all day like if you saw the tribal video and didn’t have any context for the reason I was acting the way I was acting that I literally lost my last marble because I was so convinced it was me people straight up told me that they had heard my name and that my name was one of the only options they had heard so of course to me in my mind that means I’m getting boat so then I did my whole little display that I always do when I think I’m getting votes around like just tell me it’s me just get it over with but then I ended up not being me at all, and I was like what I mean not like a bad what but just like what but you know what???? Let's get a few things straight for the SC lurkers and for anyone who has been giving them way too much attention. MW truly is thriving and not giving a shit about them. Some relationships wouldn't survive the online harassment they've endured, theirs did. Theirs survived bullying, threats, and every ugly thing one could think of and they're still standing. And yeah, you might think, but that wouldn't ruin it. Yes it would, it would ruin many relationships because I've seen it happen.

I think the know, they just don't care. For them shitting on people they don't like, is a hobby, the same goes for treating Mel like a fictiona character. Add to this them trying to mock us and mae us think there is something wrong going on with MW and we get the whole picture. You know, every time somethings good happens for MW, I get anons from so called cocnerned MW/Mel/Chris fans suggesting something going on blah blah.

So, neverending story.

Anyway, as you said, MW is fine. Probably all the shit scs did to them, just made them stronger.
