♡ ⸺ Sexuality: pansexual
♡ ⸺ I am (Yandere/Darling): yandere
♡ ⸺ Looking for (Friendship/Romance/Queerplatonic Relationship): romance primarily but i’m also very open to meeting new friends :)
♡ ⸺ Looking for a (Yandere/Darling): either!
♡ ⸺ Thinking of a friend/romantic partner/queerplatonic partner, I am looking for: to get the obvious out of the way i need someone who can deal with me being me and that me being an obsessive loser. but since we’re on this blog hopefully we’ve all accepted that lol. i really want someone who can get into niche things with me and we can have fun and play games! if you’re silly or have a good sense of humor that’s also always welcomed :D tldr i just want someone sweet who won’t judge me and likes to spend lots of time together. and very importantly let me add that if you want to romantically pursue me please be 18+
♡ ⸺ Small details about myself (interests and love language, for example): im very much your average person online. i’m autistic and i’ve had a big fixation on video games as a whole ever since i was a kid (9 years on steam and 100+ games in my library) and i like animanga and so on. my love languages are quality time and physical touch (although that’s sort of hard to work with online!) but i’ve had others say gift giving too. i could ramble a lot more but i don’t want this to be any longer than it already is.
♡ ⸺ Extra information: time zone is est but my sleep schedule can be pretty bad so expect me to be online more during the night.
♡ ⸺ Contact information: for now you can find me here on my blog @ megu-nee (don’t mind the space i just don’t want to see this post in my notifs it’ll bug me lol) and if we get close we can exchange other contact info!

🍀 <(yes my url is a gakkou gurashi reference) 18 . she/they . dawn . yanblr acc & single - cure yell's #1 fan ୨୧ types: lsmt , 279 , rahl + more detailed abt under read more
🌸 haven't been active in the yanblr community in forever (in years to be exact) but i just got out of a relationship i was in since i was 14 and i am not doing Well lol so im back.
if it isn't obvious im autistic and find a lot of comfort in nono hana/cure yell. i really relate to her and i'm always happy to see her. i also really like a bunch of other characters (like megu-nee from gakkou gurashi) so please feel free to ask me about this stuff even if it isn't super blog relevant it makes me really happy to know people care to listen to to me talk about stuff i like.
basically a neet atm (medical withdrawl from college and not going back) so chances are i will be active often so please feel free to send asks my inbox is open. anons are loved and encouraged and flirting is ok but please only do if you are both 18+ and aware that i will likely get attached. (and idk what to label myself atm but tldr gender doesn't matter to me if i love you i love you.) anyways please don't play with my heart and only send asks like that if you are genuinely interested and can be consistent. i don't want to be love bombed for a week only to have you leave me forever the next. i really hope that doesn't sound rude and please try to understand where i'm coming from. additionally if you want to you're more than welcome to claim an anon emoji or nickname. i can make a list or something. and i want to mention with asks and flirting and all of that you can be creepy i don't mind it it makes me feel wanted the only thing i dont want is threats of violence against me.
i am not proud of my obsessive tendencies. and i assume they're probably at least somewhat an autism thing which frustrates me as there's nothing i can really do abt it. this blog is currently one of the few ways i can cope with how i feel especially now that i'm single after so long. be kind.
no real strict dni i'll block you if you make me uncomfortable. would prefer if 16 and under didn't follow me though and if you do there's a high chance i'll soft block you. no hard feelings i'm just not super comfortable with it. would also like if purely nsfw blogs didn't follow.
if you read all of that rambling thank you and i hope you enjoy your time on my blog :D (and as a little ps because i feel too bad placing this anywhere near the top of my blog i do have a throne but please don't ever feel required to get me anything! it's all self indulgent stuff so absolutely not a necessity)

Finally, years after seeing the first ep and being very impressed and then forgetting all about it, I've finished the School-Live anime and manga.
My overall opinion is that, the anime improved a ton of the first arc! The various psychological reveals are done much better imo, with significantly more lead-up and foreshadowing that makes the reveals more impactful. Ep1 is much better than Ch1--we get more time to experience the world Yuki lives in, and the bits of foreshadowing are subtle hints that something is wrong, but you can't quite tell what. Ch1 is fairly short, so you don't really get THAT much time before the reveal drops. I also, personally, prefer Miki being there in the anime, so we get that outside perspective of Yuki's behavior. It also adds more to the reveal itself, because suddenly you understand a lot more about how Miki acted, and how she responded to certain things Yuki said. ("Mii-kun, they're in class right now!" "Oh...right...") It gives you both the shock, and the "ohhh, I see". The manga just delivers the shock, which IS still good ofc; the two-page spread has great atmosphere, but it just doesn't hit as hard as 25 minutes of build-up lmao.
Megu-nee was also done much better in the anime imo. Like ep1 vs ch1, there is much more time to settle into the world and the characters, considering the moment is in ch5 of the manga and ep6 of the anime. While that sounds like a similar amount of build-up, I read those 5 chapters probably within one hour, while 6 episodes is inherently approximately 3 hours. Also, it felt like Megu-nee was given a smaller role in the manga, although that does prevent the audience from necessarily picking up on the reveal before it occurs. I definitely knew something was up with her when I watched the show initially (never made it to ep6 back then) and had guessed the reveal before I got it spoiled for me. BUT that just gave me new perspective while watching it all the way through this time. It's easy to miss if you're not paying attention, but when you know what to look for, it's very very obvious. I think that's super cool.
That, and the way it's revealed, imo, is fantastic in the anime and kind of uncompelling in the manga. The pacing, tone, and music in the anime are incredible, and adding Miki into the scene once again to be give the audience's this new perspective hits much harder than Yuki just remembering on her own.
That said! The anime cuts out a lot of interaction between Yuki and Miki before Miki properly joins the club, and that's a shame. Those moments are very good. Some of them are adapted into the anime slightly differently, but the scene in the manga where Miki confronts Yuki in the middle of the night, and it culminates in us getting some insight into how Yuki's mind is working, is a great character moment and it's a bummer that isn't in the anime.
Yuki as a character in the anime isn't quite as deep as she is in the manga. I think it's overall okay, because Yuki's depth is explored more in the arcs after the School arc which the anime didn't get to, but it is certainly a shame. The whole cast, overall, is a bit softened in the anime. Miki gets into some fights with the others that are definitely toned down in the anime, if not removed entirely.
Ri-san gets her moments of tension near the end, but they're also significantly different (due to the context also being different). This is also a bummer, because I loved her breakdowns in the manga. I love seeing the cool, calm, collected characters in media lose their shit lmao, and Ri-san DELIVERS in the manga.
Considering the ending changing a decent amount of how the end of this arc goes down, it's not entirely surprising that this breakdown isn't included, so I get it, but I'm still sad about it lol. That said, I do have mixed feelings on both ways the end of this arc plays out. The broadcast being used in the anime to get the zombies to leave is very heartfelt and feels like a proper finale to all the mentions of loving school, and zombies following their routine in life, etc. That is used in ch5 in the manga as like...a one-time solution? Which I felt underwhelming in comparison. That said, the intensity of the events in the manga is much higher, and it did do a better job of making it feel like these girls were at their absolute limits. I also prefer the moment of Kurumi waking up in the manga, as it felt a bit awkward in the anime somehow.
Speaking of, Kurumi as a character is still pretty similar across the board. We get a bit more about her being the sporty one and being just as bad at studying as Yuki, but her characters is largely unchanged from what I recall. The anime did a weird thing, where it put a ominous filter over any moment Kurumi was going to kill a zombie. I'm not sure what that was about. I didn't dislike it, but it felt strange. If that were a thing that happened in the later arcs of the manga, I'd get it, but in the anime, it just confused me.
Moving on. Miki! I love the anime swapping around the timeline and having Miki there from the ep1, and then doing a flashback to show her joining the club. It gives us a better sense of how long she's been with the club, as in the manga, it didn't feel like they were together that long. In a similar vein, her time with Kei in the mall felt much longer in the anime than the manga. I also prefer them being alone from day 1 in the anime, finding a spot to hide and staying there for days? Weeks? All alone with no sign of help. In the manga, they have a whole group of survivors they stay with, and while that ends in disaster, I didn't get a feel for how long they were together, and it felt kind of muddled by some of the interactions (the older man getting drunk and hitting on Miki). These characters weren't around long enough for me to get attached, and I didn't quite feel like Miki or Kei got attached either. I could tell Kei probably got a crush on the leader, but it didn't have a ton of emotional weight to it. (This might have been the fan translation, in fairness.) This made Kei's choice to leave feel sudden and out of left field...it didn't feel like she grieved after the disaster, and it didn't seem like she wanted to leave before it...it felt much more natural in the anime, and the pacing felt better.
The change in role for Taromaru in the anime, I also prefer. It gives a bit more room for angst for Miki (which, tbh, she didn't really need, but yknow), and offered some motivation for the girls during pivotal plot moments that I found felt a little rushed in the manga. I also honestly didn't really see a point to the scene about him in the manga? It felt very unimportant, and I can't think of any point where it came back up or was relevant in any way. I guess maybe it was just meant to illustrate the zombie's coming back to places that were important to them in life, but that felt pretty well established by that point...maybe I missed it, idk. I like his role in the anime much better, although the moment at the end of the last episode was a bit of an unnecessary cruelty imo lmfao.
We also can't talk about the anime without discussing the opening theme!! It's by far my favorite part of the adaptation. The way it changes every episode is so so good, keeping the cheery tone while showing the awful reality. Openings that evolve as the show goes on is one of my favorite things, and I think this is my favorite example. Even just the way that the opening shot of the school changes from mid-day to late dusk... so good!!
In both versions, I got frustrated with the ways the girls acted lol, speaking loudly when trying to hide from zombies, not taking proper precautions when scouting, not thinking to try and leave the school in the car earlier, etc etc.
I don't have too much to say about the arcs following the School arc. Kurumi's symptoms were interesting, and the reveals about the virus were as well. There was a decent level of tension during the last stretch, although I think the time-skip last chapter does kill that a bit. The whole arc involving Risa and Ruu was a bit strange, the way Risa just seems to get better after a certain point. Like the situation with Megu-nee, I could guess what was going on, but the way she just kinda...idk...snaps out of it? At a certain point, was very odd to me.
I've talked a lot. One last point!! The art is very good! I had a bit of an issue telling the difference between Miki and Yuki at certain points, when Yuki wouldn't be wearing her hat and we'd have a panel that was close up on one of their faces. Their light hair-color and similar bangs made it hard to tell which was which sometimes. But other than that, the intense expressions and the artist's ability to show grief and especially absolute exhaustion is so good.
I also greatly prefer the zombies in the manga compared to the anime. They aren't always detailed looking in the manga, but I like their look more than the weird miasma they're made of for most of the anime. The anime almost felt...censored? While I was watching it. Which, I guess, is possible. I was watching it on HiDive and it's entirely likely they would have a censored version if that was the case. But the zombies were MUCH scarier in the manga, even compared to the more intense moments of the anime (Megu-nee) where we actually get to see more of how the zombies look.
Anyway I like them both a lot, I think when put together they make a fantastic product and make up for each others flaws. Which is honestly, very fitting for the content and themes of the series! A happy coincidence lol!

House Isekai: Pandæmonium (Prologue)
House Isekai ARR Masterlist Here
Original House Isekai Masterlist Here
—
—
ONLY 2 MONTHS LATE WHOOPS
Byleth is currently enjoying his time off from being the main protagonist of House Isekai in pseudo-retirement on Garreg Island with Megumi.
However, as Halloween approaches, he find his relaxation time rudely interrupted...
[I REALLY WANT TO STAY AT YOUR HOUSE - Rosa Walton]
Byleth sat on the beach chair soaking in the sun and fair weather.
He reached over and grabbed a coconut drink, taking a sip, hearing the ocean waves gently washing up onto shore.
With a deep relaxed sigh, Byleth put the drink back down and looked up to the skies.
His eyebrow raised as his attention turned to the music that was playing.
The radio had come from…what was it called now?
(Sothis) "Night City. V gave it to us, before we left, remember?"
Sothis floated next to him as he gave her a nod of acknowledgement.
(Byleth) "Hm. That future world. Can't say I'm a fan of this kind of music."
(Sothis) "Then why are you listening to it?"
(Byleth) "Was listening to what the kids were up to before the program ended and this song came up."
The last thing he heard was Laura leading her group deeper into the Crystal Tower, and now he had to wait for the next time it aired.
(Byleth) "So, why are you here?"
(Sothis) "For some relaxation time like you. Speaking of, how has vacation been?"
Byleth got up from his chair, taking another sip from his coconut.
(Byleth) "Peaceful. Megu-nee and I have been taking this time to catch up and find out what the new House has been doing."
(Sothis) "Hm. It is a shame the others weren't able to stay as long."
Byleth shrugged.
(Byleth) "I'm sure we'll get our time to hang. But for now we can at least-"
Byleth's phone began vibrating, making the both of them pause as he picked it up, turning off the radio.
[End Song]
(Byleth) "Hello?"
[Isabelle's Voice] "Ah, Byleth! I am terribly sorry to interrupt you at this time, but your presence is required at town hall!"
(Byleth) "Uh, alright. Be right there."
Byleth hung up the phone while turning to Sothis.
(Sothis) "Is an event going on today?"
(Byleth) "It might be to set up Halloween this month. Let's go."
Sothis nodded and followed Byleth to town hall.
[Town Hall - Animal Crossing: New Horizons OST]
Opening the door, they saw Tom Nook, Megumi, and Isabelle speaking in front of the counter.
(Byleth) "Hey."
Megumi and Isabelle gave a friendly smile while Tom Nook stepped to the front.
(Tom Nook) "Byleth! Terribly sorry to call you on such short notice, but it's necessary, yes yes!"
(Isabelle) "It's about the Halloween decorations for this month."
(Byleth) "What about it? Something go wrong?"
(Tom Nook) "On the contrary, fantastic actually! The decoration you set up near the airport is especially great!"
Byleth raised an eyebrow.
(Byleth) "But I didn't set any up yet. Megu-nee?"
Megumi shook her head.
(Megumi) "Er, no. I wasn't planning to until the week before."
Tom Nook blinked twice, processing the information.
(Tom Nook) "Isabelle?"
She started to shake nervously.
(Isabelle) "U-Um…No."
(Tom Nook) "…Huh. Perhaps its in our best interest to take a look together."
The five walked out of town hall and to the airport dock.
In front of it sat a ghastly portal, glowing a deep black and purple ominously.
(Sothis) "I don't think any of our portals has ever looked like that.".
(Isabelle) "O-Oh, maybe it's like a really cool special effect!"
GROOOOOOAAAAAAR!
Everyone jumped back in surprise as the portal began to fluctuate violently.
[Dark Clouds Gather - Fire Emblem: Three Houses OST]
(Isabelle) "A-A REALLY CONVINCING ONE!"
(Byleth) "We need to get back and-"
Suddenly in Byleth's hands, the Sword of the Creator materialized while Sothis became less transparent.
Isabelle's tools formed onto her back, causing her to panic even more.
Megumi clumsily caught a pistol that dropped out from the sky.
(Megumi) "Hey, isn't this…?!"
Byleth quickly glanced at the pistol before realizing who it belonged to.
(Byleth) "Sara's?"
The roar came out the portal again, blackening the blue skies of Garreg Island as the winds came to a dead halt in the air.
(Byleth) "Tch, we can figure this out later! We need to prepare for battle! Tom, get the townspeople to safety!"
(Tom Nook) "U-Understood!"
He waddled away as fast as his legs could carry him, leaving everyone else to defend.
(Byleth) "Get ready, anything can come through that portal!"
Everyone steeled themselves until out from the portal…
…A chair with a frog face popped out and rattled anticlimactically onto the ground.
(Isabelle) "…A froggy chair?"
Everyone slightly lowered their weapons in confusion.
Until the eyes looked directly at them.
(Megumi) "UH-"
[Silent Scream - Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker OST]
The legs began to mutate into real frog legs before shooting out bones from its green skin.
The legs quickly became grotesque as it grew in size twofold, beginning to tower over the group.
The seat of the chair grew into a gaping mouth with serrated teeth as the smiling frog face startlingly remained the same.
Though the eyes moved and stared directly into theirs.
(Isabelle) "F-FOR THE ISLAND!"
Isabelle rushed forward with her squeaky hammer, hitting the leg and making only an inappropriate squeaking noise.
The frog chair monster grabbed Isabelle and squeezed her, again making an inappropriate squeaking noise before chucking her out of sight.
A green explosion was formed where she disappeared with an unknown voice screaming:
"PLAYER FOUR, DEFEATED!"
Sothis couldn't help but laugh before Byleth elbowed her hard.
(Byleth) "It won't be as funny for us, we're not from here remember?!"
Sothis coughed awkwardly before remembering the rules of world travelling, if they were to get grabbed, they'd explode into meaty chunks instead.
(Sothis) "S-Sorry."
The froggy chair roared into the sky, the three getting into a fighting stance.
Megumi quickly ran into cover while Byleth's sword turned into the whip, Byleth swinging wildly onto its front right leg.
Byleth was able to inflict several major gashes onto the leg, making it stagger.
The froggy chair slammed its injured leg onto the ground, causing the dirt to shoot upwards into a spike.
Byleth jumped out the way, barely avoiding being skewered.
Sothis's arms went wide as magic circles formed in each hands.
Sothis quickly closed them together and formed ice spears behind her, firing them forward at the beast.
Each spear went into the joints of the legs, but it didn't do anything besides make it angrier.
With another roar, the froggy chair leapt startlingly high into the air.
Sothis teleported at the last second before it crashed back onto the ground, looking for its prey.
(Sothis) "Why is this frog so damn durable?!"
(Byleth) "Maybe cause it was a chair before it mutated, how should I know?!"
(Sothis) "Ugh, if I ever see this again at Nooklings, I'm burning it!"
As Byleth and Sothis distracted it, Megumi continued to stay hidden as she gripped the pistol tightly.
She honestly didn't expect to ever fight again, but in hindsight, that was a mistake.
Peeking around the tree, she saw Byleth and Sothis still distracting it.
Taking a deep breath, Megumi moved to another tree that was closer to it.
Though it was far too close for her comfort, one wrong misstep and she'd be crushed.
She steeled herself and pushed herself despite the fear and sprinted to the tree.
Megumi was able to find a foul looking collection of pus and blisters underneath a flat panel where the legs connected, beating like a heart.
Being as far as she was, Megumi was still somehow able to smell it.
Resisting the urge to vomit, she aimed the pistol at it and pulled the trigger.
The recoil scared Megumi as she almost dropped it, still not used to firing a gun.
The shot echoed her location to the beast but not before the bullet hit home.
The spot exploded into a mix of blood and other viscous liquids, seeing their chance, Byleth and Sothis leapt into action.
Sothis had her arms extended once again, but this time forming a shield around all three of them.
Byleth split apart one of the legs with a wide slash, making it fall over onto the ground.
Blocking the blood that shout with Sothis' shield, Byleth got on top of the chair and jammed the sword into the eye.
Megumi repeatedly pulled the trigger as the bullets hit the back of what she presumed was the head.
The froggy chair continued to flail wildly, trying its best to throw Byleth off.
Megumi almost squeezed the trigger until the chair faced her direction, the gun aiming straight at Byleth still hanging on.
It leapt at her as Megumi dove out the way, tumbling onto the ground after being launched from the impact.
Byleth was finally launched off, letting go of the sword as he landed perfectly, clenching his fists.
Sothis quickly clapped her hands together, dropping the shields as her hands sparked with electricity forming.
And an instant, a bolt of lightning struck the chair, sending it howling and shaking the very air around them.
(Byleth) "MEGU-NEE! PISTOL!"
Shaking off the ringing in her ears, she tossed the gun without a second to waste, Byleth catching it and aiming the pistol at the chair's other eye.
(Byleth) "ALLOW ME TO DEMONSTRATE!"
Firing one last bullet, it pierced the remaining eye, making the chair's legs give out underneath, going completely flat and going still.
The dark clouds above them began to fade and one last hair raising scream, the chair begin to collapse into itself, before exploding into a black and purple mist.
Although the threat was finally gone, the ominous portal remained in front of them.
[End Song]
Isabelle came back, clenching her head.
(Isabelle) "Ow...! What just happened?"
Byleth looked at the pistol, then back to Isabelle.
(Byleth) "We don't know, being honest. That wasn't from our world. Megu-nee?"
(Megumi) "We just had zombies, not...froggy chair abominations."
Tom Nook came rushing back with his nephews, all wielding hammers and wood.
(Tom Nook) "Stand aside, everyone! We're going to build a containment fence around this portal!"
(Timmy) "Yes yes, this is not good!"
(Tommy) "...not good!"
Sothis realized she could see what was inside the portal.
It looked like a massive castle was on the other side.
(Sothis) "I think we can go through this portal."
(Megumi) "What?! Are you crazy, if something like that came through, who knows what else could?"
(Byleth) "I agree, we need to prepare a defense. Can we call anyone to help?"
Sothis ignored the two as she floated closer to it.
(Sothis) "Well, sure that froggy chair from hell came out of the portal, but so did Sara's pistol."
Megumi and Byleth looked at each other, then Sara's pistol.
Now that they could take a closer look, it was indeed pulsating a dark purple glow.
(Byleth) "The hell...?"
(Sothis) "What happens if we-"
Sothis poked the portal with her finger, making it shake violently and open wide.
(Sothis) "OH CRAP-"
The portal began sucking the three of them in, Sothis going in first screaming.
Megumi didn't have time to scream before she lost her footing and went torso first into the portal.
(Byleth) "MEGUMI!-"
Although Byleth was already getting pulled in, he reached out his arm after Megumi, vanishing into the portal with the other two.
As soon as the three of them disappeared, the portal calmed down, leaving the others completely bewildered.
(Tom Nook) "...Nephews, we start construction right now."
As Timmy and Tommy got to work, he had Isabelle hold a white sign for him as he wrote something down.
"DO NOT TOUCH"
(Isabelle) "S-Shouldn't we go after them?"
(Tom Nook) "From what they told us of their previous adventures, perhaps this won't be too different? And I'm afraid we're out of our element here..."
(Isabelle) "True...I hope they'll come out alright."
...
Sothis had Megumi, then Byleth land on top of her, knocking the wind out of her stomach.
(Sothis) "G...G-GET...OFF...ME."
Megumi quickly got up, accidentally punching Byleth off.
(Megumi) "O-OH MY GOODNESS, I'M SO SORRY!"
(Byleth) "Agh, damn it! D-Don't worry about it, Megu-nee. And as for YOU-"
Byleth pointed at Sothis prepared to scream, but quickly stopped as his eyes went wide.
(Sothis) "I'm sorry, okay?! I didn't know-...What?"
Sothis and Megumi turned around and froze.
(Megumi) "W...What...?!"
(Byleth) "...Is this something from Fodlan?"
(Sothis) "I think we'd both know the answer to that by now, the hell is this?"
Then everyone heard something scraping across the floor behind them.
Something...plastic.
And when they turned around, it was another Froggy Chair.
Byleth and Sothis got in front of Megumi prepared to protect and fight before realizing no weapons were materializing. In fact, Sara's pistol was nowhere to be found.
(Sothis) "What, do you want another fight?!"
The chair simply stared at them with its vacant blue eyes.
It said nothing.

School-Live! Volume 1
Series: School-Live! (Gakkou Gurashi!) Artist: Sadoru China Writer: Norimitsu Kaihou (Nitroplus)
To be clear, I've already read this series in its entirety some time ago. Demolished it in fact after enjoying the anime immensely, because I'd hoped to see if there was more than where that story left off. Oh, there was. There was a LOT and I'm honestly heartbroken that we're probably never seeing a season 2 that it deserves.
That said, I decided to finally follow through and write lil tidbits on what I was reading as I did a re-read of my physical volumes. So, here's my thoughts of my re-read of volume 1. Please be aware of spoilers beyond this point.
Upon first starting, the general vibe is that it's just going to be another high school story. The setting is apparently an expansive school with much going on, and the main protagonist we're introduced to, Takeya Yuki, seems to be bubbly and bright spirited. It's only when you realize that the normal school setting appears to entirely be in Yuki's mind that things begin to make more sense for the story, and why the front cover involved a busted up classroom. School-Living club becomes very literal as we realize the scale of the issue involves zombies, and that these girls are on their own in a school building.
Ebisuzawa Kurumi easily slots into a guardian role for Yuki, with Wakasa Yuuri (Rii-chan), the president of this club, acting as a maternal role and solid rock. Sakura Megumi (Megu-nee), a teacher at the school, appears to be a guiding force for the girls as well though only Yuki seems to pay much mind to what she says or does, always interacting with her first and not speaking over her.
Seeing the slow but steady ramp up of just how isolated these girls are, and how dangerous their surroundings are, really plays up how much of a risk Yuki is while not engaging with reality. Yet all the girls dote on her and try to keep her safe, playing along with her ideas and thoughts of this just being a normal school club, protecting her as best they can. When it's proven that her delusions are strong enough to even make up the presence of Megu-nee, at one point losing consciousness because she started to remember something traumatic involving her, it begins to feel more and more tragic.
I don't often see trauma victims portrayed in manga decently, and while Yuki is a bit of an extreme case, I think this is indeed a way that someone could cope with such severe mental stress. When reality is too stressful and scary and makes no sense, it's easier to fall back into a daydream and act like nothing's wrong to keep the stress down. Our minds work overtime to protect us from things we're not capable of handling, and a zombie apocalypse is probably high on the list of things that can't be handled by a high schooler.
Yuki's carefree childish antics, while sometimes a risk for the others to deal with while keeping her safe because she doesn't seem to register there's any danger at hand, often lead to the other girls smiling and lightening the atmosphere. Megu-nee is the one who originally told Yuki about the importance of smiling, of being happy, and it seems that lesson is sticking around quite thoroughly. Being detached from the trauma of what's happening lets Yuki keep things flowing, preventing the other two from getting too caught in their own minds.
But Yuki's not entirely unaware. Even if she's heavily in her delusions, there are times when she can tell something serious is happening, that there's real risk, even if she's not prepared or capable of putting it into words as fact. It's a delicate balance between completely being out of touch with reality, and being just in touch to remember reality but choosing to not engage with it.
Overall volume one was a good read still. It set up the scene, established the risks and gave a general setup for the situation quite well, and leaves you wondering about the true scope of this disaster. What's caused it? What happens when the supplies at the school run out? How are three high school girls going to survive an apocalypse on their own, when one of them isn't able to protect herself properly?
It makes me excited to keep reading for volume two, especially when another character has been teased at the very end of this volume.
As well, in the physical volumes, the details about the school itself are quite interesting, it gives a sense of just how expansive and well built this school is, and explains why it's so thoroughly stocked with everything they'd needed till now. A nice detail.

📚 It’s not Megu-nee, it’s Sakura-sensei! 📚
((Messed around with hair colours and ended up looking like Megu-nee from school-live so I had to make a glam and take screens 🥺 ))

Day 61: School-Live (part 2)
Type: Anime/Manga
My first two-parter. I had more things to say.
I'm gonna spoil things, so be warned.
Didn't know I'd be invested in a Zombie Apocalypse story, but here we are.
I read a comment predicting the twist about Megu-nee. It made me notice the small details like her being invisible to the rest and not being able to hold anything. Very cool!
I was clenching my teeth at those last few episodes. Rarely do I feel like someone could die, especially someone of the main cast, but I wouldn't put it past them with this one.
We got a happy-ish ending though!
Also love the OP and how it changes slightly each episode. Also didn't notice that at first, somehow. Apparently there's also a lot of wordplay (which, of course. It's Japanese).
If you haven't watched it, please please please do!
Day 50: School-Live
Type: Anime/Manga
Just girls doing girl things.
I've only watched two episodes, but I'm invested
I think I've seen enough to form an opinion though
Honestly, just watch it. It one of those shows that's better if you know nothing about it
Let's just say, it has a nice twist at the end of episode 1
Intrigued to see where they'll take it.
