day 1 of @studywitharmy's 10 day study challenge: what self care did you practice today?

Today I worked on cleaning off my desk and sorting out my pencil case! I also washed my face really well first thing in the morning and let myself sleep in 2 hours later than usual after I stayed up pretty late last night. Sometimes, one has to compensate!! Hope you loves are having a great day :)

🕊 8 | the only person i compete against is myself, and she puts up a good fight! my mind is starting to wander so i think i’ll have to get all loose ends tied up by tomorrow night. it’ll be a lot of work, but i can do it!

05.01.2020 - day 64/100 days of productivity:

day 3,4 and 5 of #stu-dna challenge - yes we’re five days into the month and I’m already 3 days behind ahaha - warning this post might get long 😬😬

day 3: New Years resolution: I don’t really make New Years resolutions because I think you can make a change anytime you want in your life and the new year isn’t necessarily going to make it easier to accomplish a bunch of lofty goals you set just because it’s the new year. but I am trying to spend less time on my phone and on social media + I wanna read more books so that might somewhat count as a New Years resolution :))

day 4: tv shows/movies you’re watching right now: I recently rewatched to all the boys I’ve loved before and I’m so excited for the sequel to come out! I’m also watching mindhunter and a new Netflix show called spinning out and both are really great, I would totally recommend both - mindhunter is a little darker and a more serious show while spinning out is sorta soapy, melodramatic but still really fun!

day 5: why did you choose your major/thought process in choosing a major: I’m still in high school so I haven’t chosen a major yet but I want to study medicine after high school because it really fascinates me and I want to learn more about the body + I could see myself working as a doctor in the future. This last part was really important to me because I’m also really interested in, for example, Ancient Greek language and literature but it’s not something I’d want to study because the primary job afterwards would be a teacher and that’s not something I want to do. So I want to study something where I could see myself working with it in the future and where the job prospects seem like something I would enjoy, if that makes sense :)

1. i love history, learning, and different cultures, countries and places

2. next year i’ll be taking japanese culture courses along with anthropology and a film studies course

3. the film studies course is on moomins lmao

4. i’m a sucker for old architecture, this is controversial but modern architecture is not..for me

5. i would love to get a phd

I’m ill so I took the day off to just sleep and drink tea. Sleeping so much in the day seems to have messed up my sleep schedule a bit, but I’ll try and make the most of feeling awake now by doing some prep for tomorrow

well here's a fun fact, i don't write my notes in notebooks, i write them in index cards. because for me they're a lot more handy and convenient hahaha ✨ with that said, here are my recently written notes for my intermediate accounting 1 subject 💫

These are my favorite notes so far this semester since I finally understand the tcp handshake and because I got to low key draw which I rarely get to do! I do have some topologies from another class that were fun to draw as well but it’s late so I’ll keep it simple with these!

it’s not intrusive! I’m majoring in philosophy and minoring in ethnic studies and law. I just made a new studyblr to keep track of this school year if you’re interested, it’s @medusastudies :)

🕊 9 | pooh’s book club: the orphan girl and other stories [10/10 books read!]

with this book, i finish my reading challenge, and complete my list of 30 read books for the year. it’s literally been years since i finished more than 3 books in a calendar year...so i’m super happy about this. 

i had a fierce love of reading as a child, and to be able to re-awaken that passion (and re-gain my attention span...) is so refreshing. putting reading back on my hobby list!

taking a break for the next month to make some headway on research reading in preparation for my thesis [pls pls pls],, but i’m excited for 2020′s goals!

day 20 of #stu-dna challenge: what’s in your backpack?

computer, notebooks, folders, pencil case: all things I need in my classes and for studying

coffee tumbler is a must for early mornings/boring classes/giving me warmth in the cold fall/winter

the book is one that I’m reading currently for my English class but I always carry a book with me anyway because you never know when the opportunity to read will come!

and finally, lip balm and hand lotion because winter is dry!! and I don’t want my hands or my lips to crack/be dry and annoying

🕊 15 | today i’m watching a documentary related to first language acquisition and the issues faced when children are not exposed to language in time. 

reading more about the critical period hypothesis is always interesting because there isn’t a true boundary for it ... and there are so many personal factors but there are still trends for fossilization [when you just aren’t able to produce a certain target outside of what you already know].

🕊 11 | today is definitely a journal day, so i’ll sit down, pen in hand, after finishing my japanese studies [and eating a pomegranate]. i think my listening comprehension has improved from over the summer. that’s cool. 🍄
