Do you have trouble staying comfortable in meditation and relaxation? 🌱 The aerial hammock can really help! 🌿 The support of the fabric can cocoon and support your body in a variety of different positions as well as reducing distractions from the room around you. 🍃 I’ve found meditating in the aerial hammock much easier since my very first class and I know other people feel the same way - in fact it’s the first thing I suggest when someone asks how to make meditation easier! 🌸 Want to come give it a try? We include floating savasana in all of our aerial yoga classes and an extra 15 minutes meditation time in the Friday Restorative Aerial Yoga class 😌 Head to my bio for bookings! 📸 by @erinleestudio . . . #gardenofyoga #aerialyoga #aerialyogalove #darebinbusiness #yoganorthcote #melbournelovesyoga #relaxation #meditation #selfcare #stressrelief #meditationstruggles #floatingsavasana #imjusthereforsavasana (at Garden of Yoga) https://www.instagram.com/p/CrXzqEmPJ_r/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Do you get easily distracted in meditation? Or maybe find it hard to find a comfortable seat? I think most of us do - at least some of the time. 🌿We get a lot of sensory stimulation during the day and are often required to multitask. It can be challenging to mentally shift gears and slow down. 🌱 The aerial hammock can be really helpful to come into a quiet internal space and facilitate the practice of pratyahara (literally translated as ‘withdrawal from the senses’). Out in the world we often need to react quickly to information from our senses to stay safe - being held in the enveloping support of the fabric can help us settle in to a less reactive state of mind. 🍃 The aerial hammock can also help support the hips, legs and spine - many people find it more comfortable than a cushion or chair, especially if you have sensitive knees. 🌸 We include aerial meditation in all our classes with an extra 15 minutes at the end of Friday night restorative aerial yoga. 🌼 Even though meditation and mindfulness has powerful stress reduction benefits, it can take time and practice - many people have shared with me that ‘failing’ at meditation has become another source of stress for them! 🌺 I’m a big believer that the practice that feels easiest is the one you will stick with and ultimately get lasting benefits from - so if that means meditating in your bed, the aerial hammock, with music or maybe by walking, it is just as valid and helpful as more traditional forms. 🌷 You might even compile a personal ‘toolkit’ of practices that work for you at different times. We are all unique and that is one of the reasons there are so many different types of meditation practices out there!
