Been a while since I posted one of those 'my personal digimon partner' things.

In this case, it's STILL Elecmon, though I had recently decided to add in a second evolution line which utilized Igamon, Fumamon, and Tactimon.

Teeeechnically this is the third evo line, but with the headcanon I thought up the second line was actually forced onto Elecmon in an attempt to have it become a vessel so that the Olympian God Jupitermon could manifest on earth.

Examon would also be listed here as a one time 'evolution' of MedievalDukemon, utilizing an obscure evolution method that I found on the digimon wiki.

I absolutely adore the new Impmon line. Apparently so much so I wrote a wall of text gushing about it, but I'll put that under the cut to spare those who don't care's dash.

Where do I start, there's so much to love about this gift. The punk and reptilian ascetic blends perfectly into Beelzemon with his biker look and his lizard tail/claws so if you didn't want to go with the Megidramon mega you can swap in Beelzemon just fine. I honestly like it better thematically than the Wizardmon -> Baalmon line, (even though Baalmon is cooler aesthetically) it always bothered me that Wizardmon felt tacked on and slightly out of place since it wasn't a virus. I know the X antibody forms helped fold them together more design wise, and they're an awesome line, but that still doesn't fix the non-x line for me... not that all digimon need a clean and clear through line persay, but you know.

I've seen people call it "Just a recolor" and I feel like it's so much more than that. I've always liked the regional variants in Pokémon becuase they breathe new life into old designs while still making a unique feeling creature. It's the same principle here.

And while it's sad we didn't get a full canon Beelstarmon line, I like this so much more. And I feel like Impmon -> Witchmon -> LadyDevimon already fits Beelstarmon just as much as Wizardmon/Baalmon fits Beelzemon, so I don't really feel the need for a full new Fem line for Beelstarmon.

And the connections to Guilmom are just... chef's kiss. People have pointed out that Guilmon has a good sorcer line with FlareWizardmon -> Mistymon -> MedievalDukemon that matches up well with Impmon's Wizardmon line so Impmon getting a reptilian line to match up with Guilmon is just so cool. And it makes it all the cooler that Impmon was originally going to be Takato's partner, apparently.

I feel like I'm rambling, I just wanted to gush about the Punk Growlmon. After years of the Impmon line feeling rocky and incomplete on some levels, I feel like all is finally right with the world and my ocd with its line can finally rest. I don't like remembering the dark days where the best line we had was Meramon -> Skull/DeathMeramon -> Beelzemon. It gives me war flashbacks.

Now I need a Galletmon/Dukemon and Beelzemon jogress. Give it to me Bandai.

I didn't have strong feelings about Shoemon or Shoeshoemon, but Chaperomon pops off

Little Red Riding Hood that hunts wolf digimon (especially Fangmon) to make its shoes. It's a doll whose joints bend the wrong way. Its basket is full of weapons like molotov cocktails, knives, and a gattling gun. The basket also contains Monzaemon-shaped gummy bears.

I'm less into Cendrillmon, but the "evil fucked up Cinderella" lore is pretty neat. It lives in a castle of volcanic ash where it holds death match "balls" in search of its "prince" who can best it in combat. To this end, it has its army of Tyutyumon minions deliver glass slippers that forcibly bring you to its domain. I can see how all stages of Shoemon have a shoe theme, but I don't know if they have that much cohesion outside of that. And Cendrillmon as the final stage of a protagonist's partner? I'm not so sure. In fact, Chaperomon as a partner digimon is a little funny itself.

As for GrandGalemon and Zephagamon, it's worth noting that they belong to the Vortex Warriors, the group of sorcerers led by MedievalDukemon. Big news for fans of the Wichelny digimon. Pteromon is not really my thing, but I can respect it for playing with the dino-dragon-warrior formula. It's like if Sora was Adventure's gogglehead. If KarnEX made another partner swap video, I'm sure Taichi's Biyomon would evolve into Zephagamon.

Sure is a lot of “tell, don’t show” when it comes to the official profiles of Digimon.

I’m sure we’ll see WitcheIny and Digital World: Iliad someday though (the next Digimon Story game IS about the Olympos XII so not including the Digital World: Iliad wouldn’t be kind of dumb TBH). The Dark Area’s appeared a few times after all.

Is okay to request Medieval Dukemon X Reader? He barely appears outside of cards and a Chinese manga. This blog is like a dream come.

MedievalDukemon X Reader!

As his namesake is, aside from his more medieval armor, he also sometimes switches between a old-timey way of talking, and the current time, mixing them together more often than not.

He is incredibly poetic when he has someone he holds dear -- that being you of course! Every time you meet together, he always has something prepared -- taking your hand as he kneels down to recite to you his poem that he has been thinking about nonstop to make it perfect since the last time you two saw each other given he can be gone for some time. It's something to show you're always on his mind, even when time splits you apart.

He spends as much time with you as possible, making every moment cherishable since he can't spend it all with you all the time. He's doing what he can, and hopes that makes you happy enough with him.

MedievalDukemon is much like his current counterpart in some ways. He has a more knightly code he follows strictly, and would never tarnish it for any reason. He holds high beliefs that even a single rule broken can bring down his knightly form and title.

He is also inspired by your love for him, it helps him get through the toughest of battles. The thought of seeing your smiling face once more always keeps his mind clear of anything else that would try to taint it. He has something to fight for, more than just the safety of the Digital World, and he plans to use that to his advantage.

Bandai Card Game Next Plan Presentation — Digimon Card Game

Digimon Liberator

They revealed the name of the last character from promotional materials for the Digimon Liberator web comic, Close and Sunarizamon.

Part I of Episode 7 came out (today) on 10/10, and part II will be released on Thu. 10/24. (so, regular schedule)

Furthermore, chapters Debug.5 and .6 are scheduled to release mid november.

EX-08 Chains of Liberation

The trailer shows some new card illustrations, which we've known about from product descriptions: Voltobautamon, Sakuyamon X and Justimon X.

Extra Booster Chains of Liberation will release in Japan on 29th of November. This Set will include characters, and cards, we've been introduced to already through the web novel: Tyrannomon, Dinomon, Ryutaro Williams, PolarBearmon, Skadimon, and Suzune Kazuki.

After EX-07 introduced the trait NSp (Nature Spirits), this set will give it more support, as well as introduce DS (Deep Savers) and NSo (Nightmare Soldiers). From product information we can assume this set will also feature Myotismon and Plesiomon. With Myotismon and Piedmon DNA Evolving into Voltobautamon, we might also get a Deep Savers DNA Evolution.

We will also get "Shoto Kazama's New Trump Card" - MedievalDukemon/Gallantmon! This card had already been featured in Digimon Liberator web comic Episode 6. It has both [Vortex Warriors] and [Witchelny] in its traits (as well as [Warrior]) so hopefully it will see more play than the one from EX4.

BT-20 Over the X ([ɛks])

Over the X is schedule to release in Japan on January 31th 2025! Based on the promotional image, we will receive an new Alphamon Ouryuken! This set will also feature Digimon Chronicle and Digimon Seekers again!

An Image (print?) of Yuuki and Impmon will be distributed at a BT-20 release tournament in Japan.

With BT-19 having the BT-14 WarGreymon serial number card campaign, BT-20 will have one for the BT-15 MetalGarurumon. Displays will contain a code with which you can enter a lottery, and there will be 150 winners. (I would assume only in Japan)

Other Products

We got a look at the first wave of official sleeves from 2025. They will release on January 31th 2025 in Japan.

Digimon Animation Series 25th Set PB-20 got announced! Release is scheduled to be March 2025, with preorders going from October 15th (Tue) to November 14th (Thu) 2024. Includes 1 Playmat, 20 Cards (10 different Cards, each 2 copies), 50+5 Card Sleeves (for one Digimon main deck and digi-egg deck), and a storage box.

Next up is courage, not that I'm going in any order

Fladramon is easy in that you can fold in any number of Agumon or Agumon-adjacent evolutions. I went with Vritramon because it builds on the armor while also being explicitly fire-based. KaiserGreymon follows suit, though again, any number of Gogglehead partners would have their merits. I heavily considered Dorbickmon too, but it's just a bit too menacing. At that point I might as well have said Megidramon, right?

Hawkmon/Allomon didn't take too much intensive thought, I made the Allosaurus with red markings become the Tyrannosaurus with red markings. Then MasterTyranomon becomes Gaioumon, a natural evolution of it that also circles around to Hawkmon being samurai-coded.

Armadimon/Boarmon got a little railroaded into being Vikaralamon and SkullMammon because they're all big tusked mammals. Mammon was an option, but I didn't really want to use something with ice powers.

I didn't want to reuse digimon, but I ran out of insects. Shadramon becoming Dinobeemon and Grankuwagamon is good enough. I didn't want to use TyrantKabuterimon or AncientBeatmon just for the sake of originality when GranKuwagamon does fit the bill better.

Tailmon/Lynxmon becoming Coronamon and Apollomon isn't without flaw, since Tailmon presents fem and Apollomon is very masc, but fire cats. It's actually the best fit I've had so far and that counts giving Wormmon its canonical evolutions.

Patamon/Baromon is lucky in that there is another flame-based masked demon man in Asuramon. I recall KarnEX also did this and made the ultimate stage Gankoomon, but I had a different idea. Barbamon is another masked demon wizard guy, and it brings back Baromon's robes while also having bat wings like Patamon's ears.

FlaWizarmon becoming Mistymon is a no-brainer because fire magic, and I could not find a better option than MedievalDukemon for the ultimate.

Salamandamon into Volcdramon and AncientGreymon as they're all flaming herpetiles on all fours. I again considered Dorbickmon because Salamandamon were seen as its minions in Xros Wars.

Looking at KarnEX's video:

Apollomon for Fladramon which I feel is too steep a departure in addition to me using it for Tailmon

Lavogaritamon and Volcanicdramon for Allomon which I don't love as much

Marsmon for Lynxmon which is honestly tomato/tomahto

Jesmon for FlaWizarmon...I can see it, but I think I'll stick with MedievalDukemon

Imperialdramon Black for Shadramon...I mean, I guess?

Bryweludramon for Salamandamon, which is also a great idea.
