Been a while since I posted one of those 'my personal digimon partner' things.

In this case, it's STILL Elecmon, though I had recently decided to add in a second evolution line which utilized Igamon, Fumamon, and Tactimon.

Teeeechnically this is the third evo line, but with the headcanon I thought up the second line was actually forced onto Elecmon in an attempt to have it become a vessel so that the Olympian God Jupitermon could manifest on earth.

Examon would also be listed here as a one time 'evolution' of MedievalDukemon, utilizing an obscure evolution method that I found on the digimon wiki.

So in masters Nate just has Braviary so…

I ran out of ideas for armor evolutions and Hawkmon’s are obvious. Nate also uses the tried and true Masaru method of evolution.

First off this second part took so long exclusively because Calem’s was an absolute nightmare to decide. Both him and Serena have Fennekin also Serena has Greninja. Also Serena is the protagonist which complicates things more…Anyway so I wouldn’t end up pulling out my hair I just decided that Serena has Fennekin like her anime counterpart so Calem has Froakie. Ninjamon is an abomination and the frog Digimon suck so I gave him the other ninja Digimon.

I guess he gets an Xros Loader so considering how evolutions are in Xros Wars he may well go straight from Falcomon to Ravemon.

Unlike Calem he was much more simple because he only has one sync pair. I’m also imagining that his super ultimate form comes about from Ultra Necrozma’s influence.

Lucas took the only monkey rookie so I had to improvise. I tried to resist the urge to give him Etemon as a joke because musical monkey and unfortunately I couldn’t help myself 😅. Also once again there is not a lot of super ultimates. Sorry Victor.

I haven’t finished watching Ghost Game so I dunno. Maybe Appmon could be used too.

Since this dude isn’t in Masters I just based his on Miraidon. It’s that simple.

I could have also gave him this guy though 🤣

Anyway I have overthought this silly idea and actually have a very solid au idea. Let me know if anyone wants to know about the silly au where Digimon exist in Pokemon. Also I was thinking that I’ll do the female protagonists and rivals in the future.

Digimon World 1

I am a fan and a big advocate of that game tho it did frustrate me quite a bit as a kid. ( almost never got a digimon to digivolve into anything but a sukamon or a numemon until I found the guide tho I will say those few times I got a tyrannomon or ninjamon felt very rewarding)

It was a very impressive first major video game outing for the series probably the only game in the series that felt ahead of it's time. it was a beautiful looking ps1 game and the music was amazing.

Day 8 of playing Digimon World:

So I'm stupid and spent hours trying to get to perfect level (from Ninjamon to Piximon), but it turns out I mixed up its stats. I needed 300 offense and defense, and 400 speed and brains. I somehow thought it was the other way around and only realized my mistake after having saved the game with 400 offense and defense. I didn't have enough time to raise speed and brains to the required point, so Ninjamon just faded away.

I didn't have the energy to keep playing so I'll see you tomorrow.

Uh oh...I figured out how to make models in Blender. So of course the first thing I do is use it to create impossible items. By “impossible”, I mean these are from Digimon World (PS1). There are no models of these. These will be making an appearance in the next set, which is a set of item cards!

Firstly, these images are huge so click to zoom.

Polaris Sigil —  北極星の印 Whamon evolution item. Had to be pretty interpretive about what this even is. It’s clearly a gold-colored star with 4 points and a grey colored ring around it. Is the ring round? pointy? beveled? flat-topped? Who the F knows. Is the star metal or supposed to glow? Are these gold and silver or yellow light and a white cloth loop??? WHO KNOWS! So I decided to make them literal gold and silver shining brilliantly. Then I remembered real objects are very imperfect...so it’s pretty scratched up.

Offering Sake — お供え酒 Seadramon evolution item. Had to model a freakin Japanese liquor jug. 酒 “Sake” (liquor) char printed on there idea from this Bandai card. This is something that’s very hard to get a reference for outside of Digimon, meaning I had to interpret a lot about its material properties and shape that you can’t easily see in that tiny card image. Probably hard to find because it’s historical. For the cork stopper, I tried my hand at subsurface scattering and it got that nice reddish hue I wanted. Another great thing this did: I now I know how to make candle wax! Same technique.

Iga-Style Secret Scroll —  イガ流の秘伝書 Igamon (Ninjamon) evolution item. Bonus non-Blender, made in Miku Miku Dance PMX editor. Funny enough because they put “Iga” in katakana, I knew it was Igamon’s scroll specifically. So for this one, I stuck the actual “IGA-RYU” characters on it...I guess so players who know how to read Japanese in my English card game can feel good? Here’s the comparison with the old render Bandai did (different name).

Digimon Adventure 02 (Blind Watch) - Episode 15

Another blah episode. We've got the Edo setting with ninjas, which is another thing I never seem to enjoy (right next the wild west on my snooze list) and another season 1 rehash with TonosamaGekomon and crew. Also, there was just no progression really. Next!

Digimon introduced: Igamon

Notes:

-I liked the little peek into home life at the beginning there. I think this is the first time we've seen Miyako's dad and brother? We also see Daisuke's parents watching TV. Did the season 1 kids have any non digi-destined siblings? I don't think so...

-I like Hikari's loft bed. I low key want one of those. So much storage space!

-What even are those PDA-like devices they use to text each other with. They're not their digivices and I don't remember them being properly introduced.

-I really dislike TonosamaGekomon & co. they're just kind of annoying and unfunny. They're also pretty ugly aside from Otamamon. Overall very derpy character design.

-Random gratuitous English? Miyako says "Shurimon, come back!" twice in the JP version. Why tho? I understand when "cool" English slang is peppered into things, but "come back"?

-When the kids went into the digital world they were like "where ARE we!?" Does that mean they can't really choose where they want to go? Or they can choose, but they just can't really see much other than a dot on the map...Unclear.

-First appearance of Igamon/Ninjamon! It's interesting how some Digimon World digimon are only showing up in this second season. Cool to see the jump from PlayStation graphics to full animation.

-When Hikari and Takeru were like "wait, what if we tricked the bad guy into destroying the dark tower?" I was like "not a new concept guys..." Honestly, why don't they just do that every time? (I guess it might not be feasible with some digimon due to size/intelligence...)

-Curious typo in the fansubs:

I actually took a moment to be like "hmmm what is an Iod??"
