Sometimes you just have to have a little cry in the middle of a bunch of 500 year-old books, and that's okay. I am telling myself it's okay.

okay hear me out. i know i love science and i’m very good at chemistry and physics. but what if i became a fucking accountant
#IM SERIOUS…….#like i’ve been doing research about what career path to tailor my degree towards when i go back to school#and it seems like chemistry careers outside of phd research and academia just. barely exist in the US anymore#they’ve been largely outsourced or are extremely geographically limited. or it’s pure bench work that barely pays better than retail#and i’m like. knowing what i know now about my health i just cannot go into academia. i cant. it would take up 100% of my life#and as much as i think i could be smart enough i just like don’t. want to give up on hobbies or having a personal life.#i’m a slow reader/writer. i cant be writing all those papers and making all of those curriculums. it would be all i ever did#and i don’t want to constantly move across the country in pursuit of unicorn chem/bio jobs that would actually interest me#i need to be near my family or a few very close friends on case of a medical emergency#and as for accounting like. look at my hobbies. i love optimizing dragon capitalism on FR. i love making charts and solving puzzles#i don’t mind menial tasks. i need a job with consistent hours that i can leave at the office. bc otherwise i can get too wound up#accountants are in demand everywhere and the pay is actually proportional to the amount of schooling required#depending on the company you work for the work/life balance can be pretty reasonable apparently#i’m good at math enjoy solving problems and have job experience recruiting clients and solving their unique problems#it’s not as spiritually fulfilling as astrobiology but like does it have to be? if i could have a stable and healthy life with people i love#idfk man

Putting fictional characters into colony building games is fun.
I just put the ninja turtles into Rimword and, as of barely a month in game, Mikey was kidnapped and converted to an enemy clan, Raph has a fking army of 20+ chickens, and Leo almost had a mental breakdown because i didn't give him a hat. Donnie, oddly enough, has caused me no issues and is doing everything perfectly.

Review: Twinkling Watermelon
It's a generally good drama. It ended well. I enjoyed watching it but it really wasn't meant for me. I just don't connect with this type of story very much, maybe because my parents didn't expect me to be a trophy and I didn't have super high expectations for myself either (they wanted me to do well and be happy, I achieved that!). I am not an ambitious person at all.
I do have some quibbles. Ha Eun-gyeol was too good at everything: genius guitar player, excellent at sports, emotionally mature (as long as he's not around Yi-chan), AND super smart? It's just too much. He is a Marty Sue. Which made it unrealistic how terrible he was at convincing his father to do things, he was too smart to act that stupid. His whole plan was always to make weird, vague requests with puppy eyes, come on.
I know Ha Eun-gyeol was the main character, but I wish we'd seen On Eun-yoo's ending. Her story was so compelling but we never find out if she fixed things with her parents or if her grandfather survived in this timeline. I wanted a bit more of the girls in general, probably because I found Yi-chan annoying... his arc was good though, I can appreciate it.
I also feel like Daddy Yoon was forgiven way too fast. Make him suffer!
Anyway, I can appreciate that it was a good drama even if it wasn't meant for me. Thanks for the recommendation!
Edit: Sign language is a whole language with a ton of vocabulary and complex grammar, just like any other language. I felt like the acquisition was a bit too fast in the drama. I guess Chung-ah is kind of remembering some from childhood, but it didn't seem totally realistic how fast some characters learned. Drama rules I guess.

How do you get into or interested in the Medical Field?
Start in High School (or Middle School): In Middle School, you can join/make clubs like Future Health Professionals (formerly known as Health Occupations Students Of America ) or start the club. You can join/make clubs like a Biology club, Medical Awareness Club, Anatomy Club, Science Club, Red Cross, etc. You can also do extracurriculars to get interested in the medical field like volunteering at hospitals, internships at hospitals, joining summer programs at hospitals, and getting first aid/CPR certification. Lastly, you can take classes in high school like biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, AP psychology, and (if CollegeBoard makes the class) AP anatomy and physiology.
2. Research the medical field: It is very understandable if you cannot join clubs after school. There can be various reasons why you cannot participate like if you have a job, your parents cannot pick you up, you don't know anybody in the club, or the people in the club aren't nice. Instead, you can conduct your own research on the medical field jobs that are available. Research what you must do, the education you need, salary, etc. With AI rising, research of these jobs is important since they can grow or shrink based on how advanced AI is getting (especially in the computer science field). However, in the medical field context, AI can help medical professionals with diagnosing, analyzing X-rays, analyzing test results, and more. Nowadays there are doctors online, so AI can help provide information, vitals, symptoms, etc.
3. Skills and Qualities: In the medical field (depending on the job you desire) you will be working with each other as a team. For instance, if you are working in the emergency room, you will need to work with nurses to put medicine in the IV and other doctors if you need help with a case or diagnosing an illness/condition. You will need kindness and empathy because there will be patients who are in pain and suffering. Some may not have enough money to pay or are homeless.
4. Diversity in Jobs: There are numerous jobs you can pick. From doctors to nurse practitioners to biomedical engineering to being part of the lab, testing viruses. For instance in biomedical engineering, you are not only doing things in the medical field but in the biology field, computer science field, and more. Some jobs like being a doctor take a longer time than being a nurse. It will definitely be hard to be in school for a long time, but think about the reward which is helping people have a better quality of life and live better. You can also get a big salary (around 90-120,000 dollars). But there are challenges (depending on the job you pick) like seeing your patients suffer and not be alive, working 12-hour shifts, working almost every day, and working in a busy environment.
5. Challenges: There will be challenges from Medical School to the workplace. For instance, many students stay up late studying, have a side job or internship, or are trying to get a good grade in their class/MCAT. The best way to try to avoid it or lessen it is by time managing. By using a calendar, block off your free time and busy time. For instance, 1pm Friday is lunch, and 4pm Saturday is your internship. There will also be Financial issues as well. You will need to get a scholarship and if you cannot that's okay. Try to see if you qualify for financial aid using FAFSA or try getting a grant. If you do take a loan, there are also loan forgiveness programs as well. In the time you are in your workplace as a doctor/medical professional, there are ethical concerns involving patients. For instance, a patient's medical privacy and not talking about it with anyone unless that medical professional is working with you, or a patient wanting you to not resuscitate them If you resuscitate them, they could be angry, hurt, sad, and sue you.
Thank you for reading! Please like, and reblog if you liked this post or are interested in the medical field!
Please comment if you are going into the medical field, and tips for people interested in the medical field if you are already in the medical field!

idk if it's genuine excitement or the energy drink i had earlier that's actually letting me focus and work but dude. i am CRUSHING this essay. this is Fun To Write. i think i'm actually doing a really good job here. wtf. i love my major man
#i am a LITTLE bit sad i cant do grad school bc like. im going to miss writing essays and researching and all once i graduate#i do genuinely like doing it. call me a nerd or whatever but i love it esp when its on smth fun and interesting like this#now im not sad enough to actually DO grad school lmao#unless i got offered a scholarship or smth idk. wont happen but. hm. if it did.#seriously tho. i would think more seriously abt it if it werent for my adhd. i just dont think its realistic for me#as much as i like my field i dont think i have the ability to focus well enough to complete the work id need to complete#i went to the meeting abt grad school i learned abt what it requires/why people do it and all. i just dont think i can do that#and bc i ultimately cant get diagnosed -> cannot get help/medication thats not going to improve any time soon#after years of learning how to adapt and work with my brain this is probably the best i can do without medical/institutional intervention#its not worth paying a shitload of money and possibly setting my career back by years only to fail out yk?#im not too torn up abt it. ill give it more thought if it becomes relevant but rn its not really on my radar#ive done an excellent job in school! im getting an honours degree (hopefully)! most people dont even get that far#a lot of people with my condition dont even get into university let alone graduate. im incredibly lucky to be able to do what i can#levi.txt#this is all over the place but takeaway is im having a good time! things are coming together i feel confident in my work#im gathering theorists and sources for the section on night of the living dead and having a blast#ive got my examples all lined up my arguments make sense in my head i know where to look for applicable theories etc etc#i just need supporting quotes and im working on that rn!! it hasnt even been that hard#ok. back to work. i need to harness the power of caffeine once more (made my brain quiet) (no longer full of bees) (im in charge)

What is age regression a thing you’re diagnosed with or is it self diagnosed? Sry I just would like to know more and I’m confused on how you would know you are age regressing as well. Just wanna know for future reference :)
I'm not a doctor, and I haven't been diagnosed bc a lack of resources (we love capitalism /s), but it's either-or, honestly. Having a proper diagnosis could help with understanding it, but in my personal experience, it's not necessary to know that you do it.
Age regression is a real and recognized symptom of things like PTSD. You just have to do the proper research and learn to recognize when it happens.

if I had a nickel for every time someone came to their appointment with an untreated, dangerous, highly contagious disease and lied to us about it, saying they don’t have it, until after we’d done their whole visit and drawn their blood, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot. But it’s fucking diabolical that it’s happened twice
