Simple things make me the happiest. I'm not in the greatest headspace mentally. I looked down at my @starbucks cup this morning and saw this flower. It's making me sightly weepy because it looks so cheerful. Thank you baristas for all you do. #sad #anxiety #medchange (at Indianapolis, Indiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNH9esMLVlJ/?igshid=7fgtttv1q7jc

"Maybe life should be about more than just surviving." -Clarke Griffin, The 100 💜 . As I move forward in my therapy and adult life, I think it's important to take a moment to recognize everything and to share my struggle to help combat the stigma against talking about mental health. The quote above is one I heard watching the show several years ago during one of my deeper depressive episodes, and so many of these last years have just been about getting by and hiding behind being rather “high functioning” to the outside world while a closer look showed anything but just getting through another day. But I am finally to a point where I want more, and a point that I don't need to just struggle through anymore. Instead of just treating the depression with my medication, I'm current transitioning to one that will hopefully combat my much longer-underlying anxiety disorder that has contributed to all aspects of my mental health. It's scary, stopping** a medication that got me through some very rough patches, but it hasn't been enough and I want to do more than just survive. I want to thrive and actually enjoy the things I love again. This is another step in my journey, and I hope it will prove to be a good one. Life is about more than just surviving. .💊 **Friendly reminder: I am a pharmacist and because of that helped design my cross-taper with my psychiatrist, especially as there is an interaction between the two meds in question. Please follow the guidance of the medical professionals in your life when it comes to stopping and starting medications 💜** #notcosplayrelated #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthstigma #depression #anxiety #bupropion #wellbutrin #vortioxetine #trintellix #medicalprofessionalmentalhealth #pharmacistmentalhealth #lgbtmentalhealth #medication #medicationchange #medchange #crosstaper #the100quote #the100quotes #the100 #clarkegriffinquote #clarkegriffinquotes #clarkegriffin https://www.instagram.com/p/BsrKrM7DgeL/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=na7tu2n3bvdu

New Møøn 🌚 ☆ ☆ ☆ Intentions set. ▪ ▪ Time to focus on goals. 2k17 was great and I achieved a lot and grew a lot. 2k18 I got very distracted, however some great things came out of that year also. Rebuilding and building. Many solid foundations were created for my paths for this present year of 2k19. Lots of new bonds formed in '18 as well. • I'm still in pursuit of creating a life I don't need a vacation from.. or as Marsha Linehan would say, "A life worth living!" Many road blocks have been cleared. Still clearing more and uncovering other obstacles and rerouting when needed. Very goal oriented this year, && both of my hands are set free to work fully with what flows to me and to create the lifestyle I desire to live; Plus I gotta catch up on it years goals as well. ° ° ° Goals for 2k19: ▪Writing, fill another book. Book 8 shows for this year. Add more content for #thelovelylavenderpages ▪The main medication change. ▪Decide on a name for my etsy site && get it up and running. Wrap more crystals and make more home/handmade non-toxic beauty && house hold products. ▪Complete my DBT program. ▪Learn the harmonica, finally. ▪Switch to a mostly unprocessed diet. ▪Sing at least one karaoke song (duet style🙈). ▪Learn more shuffling. ▪Prepare myself && lifestyle to be attuned for Reiki. ▪Bigger photo && video challenges + expand my network in the industries. • • • Not necessarily in that order. The learning of a 2nd language, may realistically have to wait until 2020, but 6 months of hard effort can put you 2 years ahead, so let's see && let's go! ▪ #writing #writerslife #goals #newmoon #intentions #dbt #medchange #harmonica #etsy #crystals #poet #poetry #spokenword #performance #reiki #shufflebabes #grateful #typewriter #lifeworthliving #beensetfree #work https://www.instagram.com/p/BtdHRFoBLOW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ivmsqv5kemfx

laugh-sobs while on my third medchange in two and a half weeks: Soooo, I forgot the name for the WIP I decided to work on......
meaning I have nothing but a Pinterest board and some half remembered worldbuilding to start with..... yaaaaaaay.... There was an Order of The Rose and an academy in the mountains between north and south that was the gateway into the North, and the Order was trying to “ unify” the continent, I remember most of the races I had,  and that the MC was a young student at the academy , like 17-18? BUt the rest I get to do from SCRATCH... Yaaaaaay.

I've been put in a shared room and it's making me so agitated not having any space that's just mine. I really hope I move soon because otherwise I'm worried I'll just leave before I should because I'm so on edge. We are also starting to decrease my meds which given how I'm feeling currently should be interesting 😒 #inpatient #agitated #depression #anxiety #bpd #frustrated #anorexia #medchange

Doctor's offices on their death beds
Thoughts and questions (paraphrased, of course)…
PATEL: Wearables and devices are going to change the way we interact with health providers faster than we think. To make sense of data, we need to not only collect and share, but analyze it.
What’s in it for the patient? No reason to log data without giving value to the individual. Need to give them ways to act on information immediately when they receive it: my blood pressure is high—what can I do right now?
We educate patients about what personal information is out there, where it is, and how it’s being used—and give them the authority to make decisions about who gets permission to use it.
What are attitudes, environmental barriers, access issues, family/workplace that get in the way of health? How do we capture that data and apply it to care?
If the hospital as physical place becomes less important, how does health system provide tools to give patient control?
Payment systems have shared incentives with physicians; employers and payers are moving towards incentive plans for patients.
GULATI:
How do you create a richer interaction between doctor and patient? Interaction doesn’t have to take place in a hospital or office. The office has been there to provide an environment to get information from the patient. If the information can come from anywhere, any time, the definition of an office expands. We can use technology to redefine what healthcare delivery looks like.
Interesting idea that came up in a discussion about privacy at a recent conference: In the future world, by default your information will be transparent, and you’ll have to find ways to cloak ourselves (e.g. Snapchat). It’s a provocative notion. Some ways to do that might include coded screen names, no personal photos—making it difficult/impossible for patients to accidentally reveal themselves.
There will be a more collaborative model: a team approach that includes patients, and addresses them as whole people. Prescribe checklists and interventions instead of just medication—treat more than just symptoms and diseases.
On the fence about incentive models with healthcare (i.e. Geico model)—we’re not there in the short term. Need to learn more.
SCHMULAND:
Interactions—hundreds over the course of week—drive behavior that changes health. The goal is improved health for more people, less time, lower cost: give care team tools to act effectively for patient, empower patient to make the most of interactions.
Current programs are isolated and standalone—need to integrate for patient.
Doctors are stuck with 90s-era technology, stuck behind work stations. How do we update tech so they can collaborate almost like a special forces team? Important to allow synchronous and asynchronous, virtual and IRL.
Patients need to be able to own and access their own very personal, private information—instead of it existing on multiple vendors’ sites.
Patients are an underutilized resource in healthcare system. We can enable them to take more responsibility for their health, and see it as an asset that they own and are accountable for protecting. What are the environmental and social levers? How do me make medical care a component of health?
Quality is still focused on the care process—procedures and tests. Redefine: the highest quality care reduces the need for care.
Harness tools as extensions of care-taking--the value of the patient clinician relationship is deepened, not replaced by digital interactions.

If you could please send some nice things + ideas this way please I would be very grateful. I don't know how I'm going to get through this week without the medchange that I need asap but can't get asap. I also really want to get motivated and it's been very hard to find things to write for.
Maybe some song recommendations would be nice. If you haven't noticed already, most of my works are titled after songs.
