omg well to your point, i dont' know near enough about atla as i should but under the assumption that the world can be endlessly expanded upon i'd love a water bender tseng not of the northern tribe but say, some marshland/seashore type tribe. lsiten i just got out of the bath so i had some good good no-screen time to think about this and like. say he's really skilled at separating water from salt, or water from its impurities one might say (seashore/marshland water goop) which sounds really useful and also if you attribute that to bloodbending or separating water from the impurity of the whole body, that'll get gruesome fast (shoutout to that one mermaid movie where an 11yo girl just ripped a dude in half by controlling the water in his body. made for kids. GOD that movie got kids like no other)

so i am. horrifically, a funny little guy lover. almost immediately when i get my hands on a new ship i throw them in the "what digimon/pokemon/etc would they have!!!" machine and i've already done that with tserith for sure. ironically i remember less of the digimon one than the pokemon one but tseng had a qilinmon and aeris's would eventually evolve into smth like ancientkazemon. pokemon i developed with my dear friend @bbunbbi and aeris had brionne (gift from ifalna), floette, hattern (hated morgrem), and tseng had dragonair (childhood poke from wutai), seviper, and morgrem (shinra-appointed). morgrem had a huge character arc and brionne died with aeris. very sad! and god damn it while i was in the bath i was like. yeah give them medabots fuck it. that didn't get very far but i can say that tseng's medabot would work similar to snake man from mega man 3.

i don't think that's entirely in the spirit of this ask though since all of those would still take place ~in ff7/midgar~ and not like, true alternate universe. my actual answer is so corny. Plop them in anywhere from the early 19th to the early 20th century and my ass is Game. gothic regencies to wwi espionage sounds like such a goddamn romp and i will eat that shit up.

as a fun fact though the book i thought i was gonna write last year before vel chokeslammed me into the asphalt was one of those "fanfic-jump-to-actual-book" ideas where like. in a fantasy world that is starting to see magic-adjacent things recede from the world there's a monster prince arranged marriage romance going on between the last naga prince and a descendant of the now-gone(?) dryads. you know, "not tserith". but then vel, that fucker, fucking??? exploded out of thin air in late april last year and the rest is history whoops. i still want to write the naga prince book someday but whew.

On episode 3 of Medabots Damashii and I'm thinking about tapping out again. Watching Roks just run past a bunch of Kilobots, with zero impact, then have them all drop with zero flare was painful to watch. I'm really not fond of what they did to Ikki and The Screws Gang's characterization. The change in voice actors is jarring. Most of all the core premise makes no sense. How has a massive, omnipresent company like MedaCorp not sued Kam and his company into the ground for copying their idea, down to the designs of individual bots? Why is the Select Corps not doing anything about Kam going around destroying Medabots and their medals? This series is such a step backwards compared to the original anime.

Ah! Thanks! The main idea is that there’s these spirit-like creatures called Attachments that humans can kinda channel into magic (But each Attachment can only do certain types) And the story would follow a kid who gains an Attachment (to a rather playful one named August) as he attempts to figure out how to manage August, and the power that comes with them, and keeping out of sight of the organization that regulates and restricts Attachments

Seems like a pretty typical Shonnen premise (reminds me of Medabot and Digimon Tamers especially). It'd be interesting to see what kind of stories you could tell with the Attachment mechanics.

If I were writing it, I'd also put a lot of effort into worldbuilding. Make the Attachments part of daily life in this world (transportation, construction, crime/justice, economics, personal and interpersonal relationships, even politics). Don't fall into the trap of "it's exactly like our world but there're [x]".

Amount of Sleep: Too much or too little, at fluctuating times. Don't be a shut-in, kids.

Lucky Number: 21, the same amount of questions I'm asked here! Nah, I'm joking. According to this wrinkled fortune cookie paper, my lucky numbers are 16, 11, 22, 56, 19 and 45. Those are all neat, but 7 is pretty universally lucky!

What are you wearing: Underwear ;-) seriously though I'm built like a brick shithouse so don't bother getting a boner.

Dream Trip: going to Japan with my IRL friend who speaks Japanese translating everything for me. Party like weebs! Also being respectful to the locals.

Instruments: I have a guitar I don't know how to play and I know enough about music theory to fake my way on a piano.

Languages: English, very minor amounts of Spanish.

Favorite Songs: Flacuates wildly. "Mr. Bad Guy" from Freddie Mercury's solo album is an all-time banger, though. Right now, I'm really into Coheed and Cambria. Their newest concept album blew me away and it was the first one since "Burning Star IV" that I really, really enjoyed as an experience.

Favorite Video Games: Psychonauts is high on the list, obviously. The first two Max Payne games are tied for my favorite games of all time because the great gameplay mixed with the fantastic writing. Postal 2 is an abysmal, glitchy and infinitely stupid game but the amount of freedom, the brilliantly crafted sandbox world and the sheer fun of setting people on fire with your pee and kick heads away is enough to save it. The Saints Row and GTA series are also up there.

Favorite Shows: Most of the only television I watch is Adult Swim. I have an entire list of my favorite shows from them but if I had to reccomend only two from that column: "Infomercials" and "Joe Pera Talks With You" are so damn unique you won't see anything else like them anywhere. Hop on it!

Random Fact: Years before I had a comic, I'd draw characters and cut them out so I could place them on pre-drawn backgrounds and act out little plays with them. Today, that kind of hackish convenience inspires my comic style!

Aesthetics: Vaporwave when I need to sleep, general Gothic/Spooky/Halloween because it's cool. Is there an aesthetic name for "beautiful big city at night while it's snowing really hard?" because that's also my shit.

Random Interests: I really like Yugioh. I got into it again after years of ignoring it because of a Gameboy game, and then I got even more into it with Duel Links, now I'm collecting cards IRL. Also Medabots was really fucking cool. Bring back Medabots! You did it with Beyblade and Bakagun! Come on, I want children fighting robots with machine guns and rockets!!

Hangups/Weaknesses: I have a general anxiety disorder and I forget to take my medication. This list is also really hard to fill out.

Final Thoughts: These questions were too vague and I don't feel like I really got to give a good portrait of myself, but I hope it was interesting anyway!
