2. "Organic" Metal Knuckles was just a concept.. nothing much to it as I was only focusing on Metal. BUT!!! As I'm developing new ideas and other stuff. I'm rethinking of a new design for both Metal Knuckles and Tails (doll) in the future!!!

3. Android Shadow is pretty cool. Piss man yellow man. I know there's more colors than yellow but that one is my favorite.

I never got to finish Mania but I love the Hard Boiled Heavies from their awesome colorful design. I actually drew Heavy King not too long ago...

Unfortunately, I haven't played Superstars yet but, holy shit?? BIG FANG MECHA ROBOT??

Me personally, I think him and pseudo sonic are the same robot.

its funny u should ask because i've had a draft of a short fic involving mecha mk1 and mecha mk2 just sitting around that i never went back to…. maybe i should 🥴 (I have too many drafts help)

apparently mecha mk1's design was based on gigan and mechagodzilla (sick because they're my favs) so i think it'd be cool to assign similar personality traits, at least in the beginning before things… change. if they were to join the robros' ranks that is. (they wouldn't allow the behaviour I'm about to describe)

mecha mk1 to me is consistently cold-hearted and composed, almost professional with its independence. when in battle it is aggressive and dominant and can get brutal in its tactics. it is loyal only to its creator and has no problem following orders to the letter. in every sense of the word it's a killing machine just doing what it was built to do and has no problem or regrets with that. maybe there's some arrogance sprinkled in there too because it knows it's strong.

this would be counter to mecha mk2 (my baby) who is also professional and composed when the situation calls for it, but she has heart and is willing to work with others to achieve her goals. she also displays great loyalty to those who fight alongside her, primarily her creator and her hedgehog-series comrades. she's also The Least Arrogant robot ever. so

similarly, while metal is aggressive in combat, they are often nerfed by their pride and impulsiveness and instability and their loyalty is questionable at times. pride leads metal to flaunt their speed against sonic's in situations where they could just rip him to shreds instead. etc.

these traits separate mecha mk1 from their younger counterparts. mecha mk1 wouldn't "waste time" on displays of pride or cooperating with others. it would just act and get the job done. that would make it a terrifying adversary. it is aware of what it does but just doesn't care about the consequences for its enemies. it wasn't built to. doesn't know any different.

ANYWAY i love the idea of them being the same robot - do you mean as in, his AI being transferred to that frame or them literally being the same? i'm more swayed by the AI transfer thing :000 EITHER WAY I LOVE ROBOT HEADCANONS I'm eating this rn

Hey hey! The Scrapnik Island trade book comes out 2 days from now, on 8/29! Since I haven't posted them here yet, here's all 4 of my covers for the miniseries! Additional thoughts about the covers themselves below:

Big thank yous to David Mariotte and Riley Farmer! They were really kind in letting me do the A covers for this miniseries, ALONG with character design and coloring work! My goal for these covers was to make them feel like old horror movie posters. I also strategically tried to not reveal Mecha Sonic in most of them, as the covers were being announced before the story details at the time and we really wanted Mecha's return to be a big surprise! (Natalie Haines' cover absolutely knocked it out of the park for that reveal)

Color-wise, like the story itself, I wanted to gradually increase the amount of red and intensity until the breaking point of the finale in #4. For the 4th cover, I really wanted to depict the intense emotions of the finale. The fight between Sonic and Mecha Sonic, the Death Egg's shadow looming over it all, and at the bottom, a sunflower, falling into a burning incinerator. However, I also wanted to make it so if you flip the image, like someone miraculously flipped the entire situation upside-down, instead of falling into a burning abyss, the sunflower is meeting a beautiful new sunrise, a new day.

I was ranting about how nobody in the Sonic fandom can have nuanced takes anymore (this is a wide internet issue) which leads to people viewing you as one of “those” sonic fans really easily even if you genuinely enjoy the media you’re criticizing (yes these feelings did stem from that Metal ask that got posted)

But at the end it just became me glazing Scrapnik Island again y’all it’s so bad for me rn the brainrot is so fucking bad

In a recent interview, Iizuka talked about how he wanted to bring really obscure characters to Sonic Rumble, characters that make you say "even a character like this?" So, as a delusional Sonic fan, this would be my ✨Dreamlist✨

(A lot of this aren't really obscure but enter in the... "Unlikely" category)

Lanolin! Or well... Any IDW character that isn't Tangle, Whisper or Surge (can you believe she got an Alternative outfit in Sonic forces before Kit being added to the game? The disrespect...) personally, I love her and I would love to see her in a game

Talking about IDW, the interview also mentioned villians specifically, so I really want for Dr. Starline to be in. It's such a waste that he died before appearing in a game, give me my gay platypus back!!

The trailer showed avatars and costumes inspired by TMOSTH, so I really want for Barry to be in the game. And now that we are mentioning avatars, also add Ian Jr.

If you add Ian JR, you have to add Infinite! It's only fair! (Honestly I'm thinking that almost all characters that appear in Sonic Forces Will also be in Sonic Rumble, so I'm not too worried for Infinite)

Shadow androids in the game would be cool, especifically those that appear in the multiplayer mode of Shadow The Hedgehog

Can you call Sticks obscure? She got mentioned in frontiers so she's technically canon in the Sonic world... But yeah, very unlikely

I WANT MECHA SONIC MK2 TO BE IN!! AND GIVE HIM AN ALTERNATE COSTUME BASED ON SCRAPNIK ISLAND!! Also, Mecha Knuckles would be cool, actually...
