CHRISTMAS 2024 CELLAR CHATEAUX POSTCARD
This year as usual I drew a Christmas postcard for Cellar Chateaux, the very very small indie team for whom I do art directing and design, and where we're making the upcoming game Sondro Gomez: A Sunova Story (link to Steam page). This year, we got @loopy-lupe to bring her amazing colouring talent to my linework!

Caring for your family, including your elderly parents and children, must feel overwhelming. 😩💔 Every small donation could bring hope and warmth to your lives. 🌟❤️ This is a heartfelt plea for compassion and kindness.

I love your cover arts and the scrapniks so much! I'm wondering what Sigma sounds like in your mind. Is his voice as deep as Gamma's, or on the higher end like some of the other original E-series? He's more outwardly emotive so maybe none of the above?
I hope we see him and the others again, they're so cool!
Thank you! My interpretation probably differs from Danny's, so please don't take my thoughts as word of god, but I imagine his voice would be a variation of Gamma's deep monotone voice. It'd also have some kind of distortion slightly distinct from both Gamma and Omega. I think his speaking tone would be a mix of very polite while robotically blunt (i personally see him using the pronoun watakushi post-defecting from eggman)
My "this doesn't make any logical sense" joke answer though is that Sigma sounds like the lego island infomaniac. He doesn't, but I think he's got that energy, if that makes sense
Honestly very tempting for me now to stick infomaniac voice clips in audacity, lower and add a gamma filter to them, and see what happens And thank you! Me too!

Holiday Scrapniks!! Fun fact, I actually drew most of these last year, but decided not to post because the scrapnik island miniseries hadn't finished yet. We wanted to keep people in suspense with whether or not things were going to be okay in the end! A mean little lie for a happy ending >:^)

The whole Scrapnik Island trade book is out!!! Today!!! Right now!!! Go pick it up physically and/or digitally! I wanted to make a fun illustration to celebrate such a cool story that was a blast to color and design for. I tried to fit as many of the scrapniks that appeared in the miniseries as I could! Daniel Barnes is a fantastic writer and friend and Jack Lawrence is a sweetheart and incredible artist. I'm extremely glad I could work with both of them on this amazing project. Lots of love and care went into the story and art, so please pick up the book at a local bookstore/comic shop, or online order, or digitally if you prefer! If you're a fan of sonic, horror, or cool robots, this is the book for you.

Hey hey! The Scrapnik Island trade book comes out 2 days from now, on 8/29! Since I haven't posted them here yet, here's all 4 of my covers for the miniseries! Additional thoughts about the covers themselves below:
Big thank yous to David Mariotte and Riley Farmer! They were really kind in letting me do the A covers for this miniseries, ALONG with character design and coloring work! My goal for these covers was to make them feel like old horror movie posters. I also strategically tried to not reveal Mecha Sonic in most of them, as the covers were being announced before the story details at the time and we really wanted Mecha's return to be a big surprise! (Natalie Haines' cover absolutely knocked it out of the park for that reveal)
Color-wise, like the story itself, I wanted to gradually increase the amount of red and intensity until the breaking point of the finale in #4. For the 4th cover, I really wanted to depict the intense emotions of the finale. The fight between Sonic and Mecha Sonic, the Death Egg's shadow looming over it all, and at the bottom, a sunflower, falling into a burning incinerator. However, I also wanted to make it so if you flip the image, like someone miraculously flipped the entire situation upside-down, instead of falling into a burning abyss, the sunflower is meeting a beautiful new sunrise, a new day.

Note
One thing I found neat about your scrapnik covers is that the Jack Lawrence variant for issue 4 that you colored goes in the complete opposite direction color wise from your A covers
Good eye! I colored Jack's cover a few months after I painted my 4 covers, and figuring out the color scheme stumped me for a little initially because red was such a prominent theme for me. After experimenting with several color schemes, I realized it was better to treat it as separate from issue 4's story, instead go for more of a representation of the whole miniseries, and go in the green stormy direction like how the beginning of scrapnik starts. Ironically, that made it work pretty well for the trade cover haha.

Hello hello! Been a while since I've posted my art on tumblr, (though I HAVE still been lurking the whole time) so I figure I'll start by posting some of the sonic covers I like the most from the main ongoing comic series! I've been pushing my character proportions to feel more like the rubbery sa1 proportions for the past year and a half, so lately I've been more satisfied with how I'm drawing everyone.
