A strange rumor went around the campus. A rumor of a person whose beauty was so out of this world that it was terrifying.
Unreal. Everyone had said. You won’t be able to look her in the eyes!
But beyond that angelic beauty was a personality so sour, no one dared thought to approach her. Those that tried their luck had it beaten right out of them and they came to hate her to hide their broken hearts.
What a bitch, they had said. Does she think she’s all that?
Yoon Jeonghan, for one, thought they were being overly dramatic. It was a strange and interesting phenomenon how gossip can evolve to add in such theatrics. It was like living in one of those regency novels his sister owned which he had perused over on one particularly boring day. Had these people really had nothing better to do with their lives? Were they trying to live in a novel of their own? Jeonghan never understood them, neither cared for these kinds of things. He’d much rather form his opinions. He had better things to do than to dabble in such frivolity.
What a stuck-up, one would say. What better things could Jeonghan be doing that puts him above everyone else?
Oh, fucking the subject of the rumors of course.
“How irritating,” Jeonghan sighed, abruptly ceasing his thrusts inside you to harshly yank you back by your hair.
You yelp, a deer in the headlights, when your neck is forcibly craned back, made to look up at his looming figure. You looked pathetic from where you were pinned against the wall, exposed breasts pressed flush against the cool tiles and your mini skirt flipped upwards to reveal the swell of your bare ass flattened against his hip bone.
“I said to keep your voice down,” he tuts. “Do you want the whole house to hear you?”
“I’m s-sorry,” you stammer out, throat raw and chest heaving.
“Are you?” He mused with a raised brow, mocking and unbelieving.
You couldn’t meet his gaze, or at least you tried to. Jeonghan liked to make eye contact, he once told you, for he loved to see your sanity visibly ebb away from your eyes, leaving you a mindless, glassy-eyed whore. You had not reached that stage, not yet, not when some semblance of your being remained clear in your gaze, dilated pupils fearfully wavering back and forth between his simpering face and the bathroom door where a rather large, booming frat party laid beyond.
He cocked his head to the side and tightened his grip on your hair, forcing your eyes back on him. He leaned forward until he’s breathing your air, and all you could do is stare up at him pitifully with quivering lips. “Or…” he starts, his lips twisting cruelly. “Do you want them to hear you? Want them hear how good you’re being fucked right now?”
You remain silent, the lump on your throat bobbing as you swallow hard. But your walls tighten around him and Jeonghan couldn’t help the curve of his lips.
“You’re really weird, you know that?” Jeonghan sighed, releasing his hold on you. A lithe finger curls a lock behind your ear, the gesture jarringly affectionate from his prior cruelty, before his mouth moves to hover over it, his warm breath tickling. “You moan loudly when I tell you to shut up. You shut up when I ask you questions. Have I fucked you stupid already? Or have you always been stupid?”
You let out a shaky breath. “I’m sorry.”
“Is that all you know what to say?” Jeonghan laughs. “A renowned bitch, known to reject her admirers without so much of a second thought, now reduced into this pathetic bitch in heat. What would everyone else think, hm?”
His derogatory spats clamored down to your bones, making you shake with emotions that you couldn’t quite place with your hazed mind. At one point, with the last bit of pride you had left, you’re irritated, and it’s shown in the twitch of your eye and narrowed gaze. Then there’s embarrassment, shown by how your face warms and flushes. There was no denying how fucking dazed and desperate you had been, that much was true, and the demeaning tone of his voice did its job of filling you with shame. The twisted part of it all is that you enjoyed every minute of this ridicule thanks to pure, carnal desire. You couldn’t care less about what other people would say about you, what matters now is when the fuck would Jeonghan move his dick inside you.
But Jeonghan being Jeonghan, he wanted his answers. His last question was rhetoric. You knew. He knew. And yet he looks down at you with cruel expectancy masked in the sweetest, angelic smile that has fooled so many, and had once fooled you.
“I-I don’t care,” you say, deciding to be honest. “Who the fuck cares what they think?”
“Oh, but I’d like to know,” Jeonghan said. He hums for a moment, looking you over in consideration, before speaking again. “But you’re right. They don’t matter right now, do they?”
You release a breath you hadn’t known you were holding.
And Jeonghan watched, amused. He wasn’t done speaking. “But I’d at least like to know what you think.”
You blinked. “What?”
Before you could question him some more, Jeonghan pulls out of you, leaving your weeping cunt fluttering around nothing. You cry out, high and broken, from having pleasure ripped away with such cruelty. Jeonghan ignores it and his own throbbing problem as he goes to peel you off the wall with a rough tug on your arm. He has you by over the sink, has you staring at yourself through the vanity mirror. Jeonghan casts a smile at you through the reflection, his gaze weighted as he drinks in the sight of you as well.
Jeonghan had to admit, the rumors weren’t all baseless. You were stunningly beautiful, there was no denying that when anyone with functioning eyes could see it. The way you carried yourself tells him you’re well aware of it too. You held confidence with a raised chin, an allure with your own posture and stance even in this vulnerable position you were forced in, looking as disheveled as you are with tufts of your hair sticking out in every direction, framing your flushed face. Your blouse had been carefully unbuttoned despite how desperately urgent you both had been for each other the moment the bathroom door shut closed, but the rush was evident in how your bralette had been roughly tugged down enough for your perked breasts to spill over. Jeonghan had been anything but kind to your skin, having left angry red splotches blossoming all over your chest; you weren’t either on his, knowing if Jeonghan had craned his neck enough from behind you, they’d find similar markings on his throat, though considerably less in quantity.
Jeonghan also looked considerably less damning. He had not made moves to remove any of his upper clothing and so he remained presentable with his black varsity over a loose white shirt. Even his long hair had not looked loosened from where it’s tied up. But below, away from the mirror’s sight, his dark jeans had been unbuttoned and unzipped for his curved dick to spring out freely, for it now to rub over your ass teasingly.
“So?” Jeonghan asks. “What do you think of yourself?”
You glare at him through the mirror. “Fucking awful.”
“Of course you’d see it that way,” he laughs, resting his chin on your shoulder. “For me, I think this is the most beautiful you’ve ever been.”
It’s your turn to look unbelieving, but your pulse rouses.
Jeonghan grinned. “Ask me why.”
You reluctantly indulge him, “Why?”
“Because you finally look fucking awful,” Jeonghan said cheerfully. You turn to glower at him but stop when he lifts a hand to trace a line over your chest, mapping out the marks adorning you with a nimble finger. “And because I’m the reason for it.”
“A little vain, don’t you think?” You remark, albeit breathily, your face heated.
“I can be proud of my work,” he quipped, pressing his smile against your skin. He looks you over once more, taking in every detail down to the last freckle, and something deep in him thrums sweetly. “And I had a beautiful canvas to begin with.”
“How charming,” you sighed, derisive, as you threw your head back against his shoulder so you could look at him with batting lashes. “Can you fuck me now?”
“But I mean it,” Jeonghan murmured and relented, reaching around you so he could press a roughened finger over your swollen clit.
“Mean what?” You ask, but you’re barely listening, not when your focus is narrowed to the deft circles he’s making on your sweet nerves.
Jeonghan guides his length between your thighs, letting it glide languidly right under your weeping and throbbing cunt at a lazy pace. His lips are still curled, his eyes bright when he gazes down at you before he’s responding, “You’re absolutely beautiful.”
Sincerity was not something you’re used to when it came to the ever sarcastic Yoon Jeonghan, and yet here it was, bleeding into his tone in its purest form. Never in the entire three months of sleeping with him had he ever complimented the way he had just now, and if he had uttered any, it was quickly followed with ridicule or said with ridicule.
Good, he called you when you were obedient.
Cute, he called you when you were crying.
Beautiful. It was new. From him at least.
It was a temporary moment of clarity in your lust-addled head as you blink at him, making sense of what he had said, making sense of the warmth that starts to bloom throughout your chest. And temporary it remained as Jeonghan led his cockhead right back to your entrance, pushing himself in without so much of a warning, and the bare grasp you had on lucidity loosened.
You gasp out loudly, doubling over the bathroom counter as your walls tense and quiver painfully from the sudden breach, but still yield around him nonetheless. Jeonghan was quick to catch you, to force you right back up with his long fingers encircling your throat.
“Again?” Jeonghan barked out a laugh but it’s hoarse. “You really want everyone to hear you.”
“I c-can’t help it,” you whined, your head resting weakly against his shoulder, warm breath puffing over his marred skin.
Jeonghan looked unimpressed. “Well, help it.”
“Oh, fuck!” you cry out when he starts driving into you with no sense of leniency, your body thrown fully forward and voice shaking from the repeated impact that clatters your bones.
“You’re horrible at this,” he cackled. He grips at your hips this time, pulling you hard against him, balls slapping heavily against your ass. He's practically pulling and pushing your cunt onto his cock as if you weighed nothing, as if you were nothing but a cocksleeve for him to enjoy. Each decadent slide of his length in your heat draws out breathy grunts from him, his head drunk with pleasure.
You weren’t faring any better. Your head is thrown back to reveal flushed skin stained with tears that drip from closed eyes as you try desperately to hold yourself up with palms flat against the cold marble counter. There was nothing else for you to do but feel it, feel his cock stretch your pussy, its silken insides practically making way for him with each piston that has you crying out more in volume and pitch.
“Open your eyes.” His hot, staggered breath wafted over your ear. His thrusts ease its pace, slowing into something more languorous and teasing. “Open your eyes and look at me.”
You whine but your eyelids flutter open. Glassy, unfocused eyes find Jeonghan.
A devious smile splinters across his face.
There you are.
“Please,” you whimper, your hand reaching to paw at his nape.
“What is it, angel?” His tone is sweet but it rolls off his tongue sharply. “I n-need - ”
Jeonghan laughed cruelly. “I don’t think you’re in the position to demand something from me when you can’t even listen to my one demand.”
You grab at the ends of his hair and rock your hips back into him, fucking your cunt right on his dick in a faster, but struggling, rhythm.
“Hannie,” you mewl. “You feel too good. Please, please, just fuck me. I can’t help it, I just - Please? I’ll b-be good. Just please fuck me, Hannie.”
Jeonghan doesn’t respond right away to your pleas, allowing himself to revel in the broken desperation you display with an amused smile and delighted throbs made inside your velvety walls. Perhaps Jeonghan should be used to this sight now. He’s seen you in much messier and miserable states, ruined you far worse than he had now. And yet he’s plenty invigorated than he’s ever been, pure excitement searing his veins.
What would everyone else think, hm?
Jeonghan thought it was rhetoric. Jeonghan said it didn’t matter.
It wasn’t. It did.
“I don’t think you can be good,” he began as a hand inches forward between your legs, “But if you’re going to be loud, then at least use my name. That way, everyone will know who’s fucking you so good.”
“H-Hannie!” You mewl, oh so pitchy, as your frame jerks from the brush of the roughened pads of his fingers on your clit, pleasure flickering up your abdomen so wildly that you could not easily bear through it.
“There we go,” he crooned, pride gleaming in his eyes. Jeonghan was much too familiar with your body by now, so it’s easy when his hips brings back its pace, fucking at your insides at an angle so the length of him glides over your sweet nerves with each impact.
“Yes, yes, yes,” you sob out like a mantra, spreading your legs a little wider to accommodate his brutality, your channel tightening around his throbbing girth. “Ngh, Jeonghan, right there! Oh my god - !”
The nectar that leaks out of you coated his shaft with an amazingly significant amount that makes the slides so much easier and louder, the wet noises bouncing off the four walls and meshing with your own cries of his name like he wanted. It was almost enough to drown out the muffled music of the party that seemed many worlds away now.
Jeonghan soon enough joined in this sinful chorus, letting out panted moans of his own. Some were incoherent but when it wasn’t, it was mostly your name, just in case everyone couldn’t tell who was screaming his name like a wailing prayer. How he’s managed to keep himself restrained and sane for this long was a strong feat in itself. Your everything put him in a trance, every touch of you—nails, fingers, and obviously your tight cunt, was a little too much, it was dizzying.
Even at your seemingly waning state, your hips somehow finds itself moving back against him, undulating with the same force and rhythm. You’re driven by the tightness both in your chest and in your abdomen, white flashing across your vision the more you keep up your pace, your moan becoming more muddled as your thoughts were. And when balance fails you, having you bow back down and lean all your weight on your forearm, Jeonghan inclines with you, his chest pressed right against your back and you could feel his raging heartbeat that very well matched your own.
“How are you holding up, angel?” He chuckled and pressed his face against your neck, his breathing hard and warm on your skin, as his thrusts become more shallow. “Doing okay?”
“I-I’m close,” you whimper. “Please, Hannie - ”
“I’ve got you,” he whispered back as nails dig crescents on your waist, muscles flexing as the intensity of his strokes inside you extends once again and remains at the same tempo. He doesn’t know what came over him the next moment, his senses just completely overtaken and all he could do was be at awe at all this perfect bliss you’re bringing him, and only him. “You’re mine tonight,” he breathed. “I’m going to fucking ruin you for everyone, angel, you understand that? You’re mine.”
There it was again. The clarity. The warmth. It all happened in a single moment.
You turn your head and stare up at him. Jeonghan stared right back at you. A completely indecipherable expression confronts another.
Where it had been temporary then, it intensified now. Where there had been questions, suspicions took its place.
Then came fear.
Jeonghan catches a glimpse of it in your eyes and for the very first time, his stomach sank at the sight of it.
But his facade is flawless. It comes too naturally before he’s fully aware—a sweet curl of lip, the faintest crinkle at the corners of his eyes. He’s fooled too many. He could fool you again.
Jeonghan takes advantage of your moment of daze to toy once again with your clit, and is relieved at how immediate your body reacts.
“Ngh, J-Jeonghan!” You keen high as you reach a hand to cup over to where his fingers flicks and pinches at the delicate bud, pressing down on him for added pressure to alleviate your own self. Oh, how embarrassingly easy it was for your thoughts to be completely overwritten by your own lustful desires, but as you have learned, it always prevails, doesn’t it?
Your thighs seize up from the overwhelming pleasure crawling up your spine; while your rhythm falters from it, Jeonghan’s is relentless even when his own breathing turned ragged and his body strained from the effort. It all becomes so much so fast; the feverish heat spreads under your skin, tightening up coils in your abdomen, but your frame is trembling, as if a chill settled so deeply into your bones.
“Hannie, Hannie, I’m going to -”
“I know,” Jeonghan grunts as his face falls in the juncture of your neck, lips pressed right over your pulse point. He can feel your walls start to restrict around his twitching girth, and it did little to aid his own self-control. “Let go for me, angel. C’mon. Let me hear you. Let them hear you.”
And you do. With the most shrilling wail, you come, your warm release spilling onto his cock and, much to your surprise, squirting onto themselves, their clothes, and his hand.
“Holy shit,” Jeonghan marveled under his breath. If he could burn a memory into his brain, this would be fucking it. Just you shivering and quivering around his dick. Your back prettily arched back with tits hardened and perked. The fluids spurting all over yourself and him so shamelessly and so intensely until you're convulsing back down on your front from it all.
Watching this whole brilliance of you, just reminded Jeonghan of how lucky he truly was to have you like this, to be able to make you this fucked out with crossed eyes, pupils blown wide out of proportion. Hidden concerns were washed away by this single glance, replaced with nothing but gratitude, pride, and true bliss. And with all that and a poorly thrown out warning, he’s thrown over the edge. A moan is punched out of his gut as he’s releasing inside you with one last valiant thrust, his cum white and hot as it spurts and paints your walls.
And poor you having to tolerate this continued abuse of your insides that pushes you close into the sphere of overstimulation. You’re spent, fatigue already ebbing into your consciousness, but you stay still for him, letting him use you for all your worth until the last few twitches of cock, until the last few spews of his cum is fucked back into you.
For the next few moments, only a dulled bass fills the air as two heaving bodies try to steady themselves. When the remnants of carnality wane, Jeonghan finally pulls out of you, your channel left with nothing but their shared release dripping out of you, beading down your legs. There’s a crack of a smile thrown your way through the reflection just as you feel a light tap made over your cunt. You resist the urge to roll your eyes at the gesture. And to rock back into it.
“If I clean you up,” Jeonghan began, eyeing the puddle on the floor, “could you help me with the rest of your mess?”
Now you did roll your eyes. “Ever the gentleman.”
“Hey, I just thought I should ask. It’s a lot.”
Your face warmed up. “Forget it, I’ll clean myself up. You clean the floor.” You move to lift yourself up from the counter, but catch yourself as your muscles start to strain, limbs shaking.
Jeonghan raised a brow.
You winced. “Can you help me over to the toilet?”
“Need to piss it all out again?” He jests and takes a hold of your arm to gently pick you up.
You sneered. “That wasn’t piss, asshat.”
Jeonghan laughed. “I know it wasn’t. But it was hot as hell.”
“Shut the hell up.”
That only made him laugh again.
Then came a knock, a very aggressive one.
“Yoon Jeonghan, are you done fucking in there?” Said a male voice beyond the door, sounding just as irritated as his knock was.
“Ah, damn,” Jeonghan muttered quietly to himself, then raised his voice at the door, “There are other bathrooms, Cheol!”
Choi Seungcheol, you now recognized Jeonghan’s fellow frat brother, responded right away. “All occupied! Can you hurry your shit up?”
“No!” said Jeonghan, but he’s quick to guide you over next to the toilet with an arm now encircling your waist; you tell yourself this was just a helpful gesture, but there’s no helping how your skin heats up under his touch. From where you stand leaning against the wall, you watch him rush around the bathroom, first cleaning himself up and shoving his dick back in his jeans before he throws a clean towel down on the floor to soak up your mess.
“I’ll leave first,” Jeonghan explained as he sauntered back to you with soap and another fresh towel in hand, setting them down where it’s within your reach. “I’ll appease Cheol first and buy you some time to clean up.”
“Is he always so impatient?” You asked.
“Always,” he sighed, “but once I explain, he’ll understand. I don’t know why he’s fussier than usual though.”
“Maybe he needs to shit.”
“Shitting at a party? That’s disgusting of him.”
“He has no respect for the partygoers out there.”
You exchange grins with each other.
Then another round of knocking came around.
“In a minute!” Jeonghan called back, trying to sound calm but his face was scowling. He lowers his voice when he speaks to you again, “Are you sure you don’t want any help? Now I just want to make him wait.”
“Go,” you tell him and wave him off. “He sounds like he’s about to kick the door open. I’d rather not have that.”
Jeonghan huffed a laugh at that. “I wouldn’t put it past him.”
Jeonghan turned to leave. Your heart lurched from your chest.
“Jeonghan?” You call out before you could stop yourself.
He looked back. “Hm?”
“Do we…” You didn’t know what to say, how to phrase it. “Should we talk about it?”
It was miniscule, but you caught his wince. “Talk about what?”
“About what you said?”
“Angel, I said a lot of things.”
“Don’t play stupid with me. You said - ”
Another loud knock, quickly followed by Seungcheol yelling. “Jeonghan! Hurry up!”
Jeonghan let out another sigh, a mix of annoyance with a tinge of relief. “We’ll have to talk about it another time.”
You narrowed your eyes. “Jeonghan - ”
“We will talk about it,” he said firmly, his tone spoke of sincerity, but his face said otherwise. “Just not now. Not yet.”
You gave him a skeptical look.
He tried for a smile, perfectly saccharine. You saw right through it.
“Fine,” you relented.
Jeonghan gave you a grateful nod of his head and made a move to leave again. You watch again with the strangest restriction in your chest.
“Cheol, you have got to learn patience,” Jeonghan said once he cracked the door open.
“And you have got to learn to be quiet,” the disembodied voice of Seungcheol parried back. “I’m sure the people passing the hallway could hear you both.”
“Well, we were trying to get the whole house to hear us.” Jeonghan spared a quick glance your way and grinned. You wanted to punch his teeth in.
Seungcheol groaned. “Of course you fucking were.”
Jeonghan laughed and finally stepped out of the bathroom. “At least I’m getting my dick wet. You haven’t been with anyone since - Oh, I spoke too soon. Cheol, you sneaky son of a - ”
The door shut closed behind him, leaving you all alone, and you buried your face in your hands.

Seventeen and kisses (OT13)
Yuin's note: Poorly proofread. I'm going through a really bad writer's block, bear with me.
Seungcheol. Mingyu. Dino. - Forehead.
His main goal in this relationship is that you feel loved, and takes his job quite serious. There's not a safer place than his warm embrace, he loves to hold you and tenderly kiss your forehead like there's no time or something more important, is his silent way to say that will protect you and be there whenever you need him (cuz' words alone cannot express how important you are to him).
Joshua. Jeonghan. Minghao - Knuckles.
For him you're a princess, his princess and what better way to make you feel like that? Your hands are the prettiest, from time to time he will hold it and tenderly place a kiss on your knuckles. Oh, he's so in love with your lovestruck gaze, he can do this all day long just to see you blushing and getting shy over him, so it's not big surprise if he gives more than just one kiss.
Seungkwan. Dokyeom. Hoshi. - All over your face.
He loves your face, the tender way you look at him and your cute smile are his biggest weaknesses so don't be surprised, he's always so eager to kiss you and will just choose anywhere, it doesn't matter since it's you, all he wants to do is shower you with all his love and put a big smile on your face. It doesn't matter if you're depressed or just minding your business, when he wants to kiss you, There is nothing in this world that can stop him from achieving his goal.
Vernon. Woozi. Wonwoo. - Cheek/Lips.
Let's be honest, he's a simple man so he is just going to kiss you straight on your lips. Does it mean that's boring and not special? Better think twice. He respects your personal space and knows that can't just be stuck to you all the time but he's a human too, a person that loves you deeply and will remind you that he is there by suddenly going by your side, kissing your lips, and then returning to whatever he was doing (leaving you clueless and blushing).
Jun. - Nose.
He's eccentric and everyone knows that for sure, so it is not a big surprise when he just stares at you, with a serious gaze and suddenly caress his nose againts yours, followed by a shy laugh. But don't blame him. The truth is, Jun feels very comfortable when he's with you and likes to just be himself, is his way to say how much he loves you.

kiss me
pairing: jeonghan x reader prompt: you can tell a lot about a person by the way they kiss warnings: kissing, swearing, kinda suggestive towards the end so MDNI, mentions of bad kisser, one mention of kinda bad ex? word count: 715 a/n: i miss jeonghan 😔 im also out of work so too much free time to miss him even more 😔😔 lowercase intended and not beta
"you can tell a lot about a person by the way they kiss," you snorted as you read another silly piece of advice on a wannabe dating and relationship profile. your friend jeonghan, sitting across from you on the couch, smiled whenever he came across something funny.
"jeonghan? did you know you can tell a lot about a person by the way they kiss?"
jeonghan stopped his doom scrolling and looked up, eyebrows furrowing at the question. "y/n, are you reading those stupid dating tips again? i told you, none of that shit is real."
"i know," you dragged out, "but this one was too funny to keep to myself. like, let's be real, do people really think they can tell a lot about a person by the way they kiss? i'm a bad kisser, but that doesn't mean i'm bad at everything in a relationship," you finished, rolling your eyes.
"wait, you're a bad kisser?"
"at least that's what my ex told me when i asked him why he didn't kiss me more."
jeonghan seemed lost in thought for a minute before he looked at you again and grinned.
"let's test it."
now it was your turn to question him, "test what exactly?"
"you know, both things. you'll find out if you can actually tell a lot about a person by the way they kiss, and i'll find out if you're actually a bad kisser," he explained casually, like he was proposing what you should have for lunch.
"okay, but we already know i'm a bad kisser," you pointed out.
"eh, your ex doesn't count," jeonghan waved off. "i don't like him, plus statistically, one data point isn't enough to draw conclusions. so what do you say?" he leaned forward like he was actually excited for your answer.
"what do i say what? that we kiss?"
he nodded, and you gave his proposition another thought. it's not every day that the pretty-guy-turned-friend you've had a crush on for a long time but decided to suppress it asks you to kiss him.
"okay, let's do this. what do you have in mind?" you nodded and looked at him after a few minutes.
jeonghan grinned and pulled you onto his lap. you let out a squeak, balancing yourself with your hands on his shoulders. he smoothed one hand on your back while the other held your waist. he whispered, "this is what i have in mind. you okay?"
you nodded and closed your eyes as jeonghan leaned in. you felt his breath ghosting over your lips for a moment and opened your eyes to see him waiting for you to kiss him. he was still giving you the option to back out.
for fuck's sake, he's too cute.
you cupped his jaw and pressed a small kiss to his lips. you pulled back, only for jeonghan to hold your jaw and pull you in again. he left a breath's space between you and whispered, "not enough, baby." then he crashed his lips on yours and kissed you deeply. his lips tasted like the chocolate and strawberry ice cream he was eating earlier. you felt him swipe his tongue at the seam of your lips, and you groaned, softly grinding against him. you opened your mouth, giving him access, and he tangled his tongue with yours. you let out another moan, grinding harder against him, before he pulled back, leaving you flustered and breathless.
jeonghan gave you one of his signature smirks. "safe to say your ex lied, baby, because that was the best kiss ever. what about you? did you draw your conclusions?" he cocked his head, the smirk still plastered on his stupidly pretty face.
"huh?" you said, trying to remember what he was talking about.
"told you those dating advice pages are ass! you still didn’t realize my feelings! 'you can tell a lot about a person by the way they kiss,' my ass." he huffed, rolling his eyes.
"guess you're going to have to kiss me till i realize," you shrugged, a teasing smile slowly creeping in.
"guess i'll have to," he said, laughing and pulling you in for another kiss.
safe to say, you definitely drew your conclusions after a long night and a breakfast date.
a/n: just a silly something i wrote because I need a reason to procrastinate!!! my requests are open! send me some fun stuff!

Hmmm maybe joshua, hanahaki au? 😽
oooh... tbh i think i'd straight up just go for a joshua prequel for cause you're my flower.
this is probs gonna get long so uh. tw for angst + illness depictions via hanahaki + hospital mentions + also suffocation mentions (via the flowers). if you skipped the seungkwan fic, you should probably skip this too.
like. you know how it ends, sure, but i think there's a lot to say about joshua meeting reader in their sophomore year of college and falling for her (altho i can easily go back and change details to make this gn!reader) since there's not the full story in the other fic. i think it'd be a slower thing than illustrated of joshua slowly falling until he's in love. he decides to go ahead and act by asking you out, and you turn him down because you only ever thought of him as a friend. he accepts it with a smile and says that he hopes this doesn't damage your friendship at all: he still cares about you, and it isnt your fault he fell for you. just a very clear 'you aren't responsible for his feelings, it's his job to deal with them on his own.'
except he goes home and starts feeling... off. jeonghan comes back to their apartment and joshua coughs up flower petals, and both just immediately know whats going on. i dont remember if i said what joshua's flowers were? i don't think i did. maybe chrysanthemums since they mean death in some places in the world. jeonghan tells him he needs to see a doctor, joshua says he will.
and then he just... never does since he knows getting the flowers removed means he'll stop caring about his friend. he won't be able to love you at all if they're taken from him. he thinks, still stinging from rejection, that he'd rather die than live without you in his life. he told you that he wanted to stay friends with you, how was he supposed to turn around and tell you 'lol nvm, i can't see you ever again'??? he can't.
not all cases are fatal. joshua knows this. he just hopes he'll be lucky. he stays your friend and hides the petals well, because he just can't lose you. it eats him up inside to hear you talk about some dick you like (not out of jealousy--joshua has told you over and over that the guy you're crushing on is an asshole, but you claim he's always been nice to you, and he genuinely fears for you).
jeonghan fights with him. he calls him an idiot, and tells him that his mom keeps begging him to say something??? to find a way to convince you? she's tried so hard to get him to see a doctor, and she tells him she'll be flying back from the US to see him and help him through everything. it breaks him a bit when jeonghan tells him what she said: that she can't lose her son.
just. joshua angst. hes deeply conflicted between his love for his mom and his friends and the guilt he feels over this happening all because you didn't love him back, which isn't even your fault. he reads online where some ppl talk about how they hated the other person because of the flowers putting them through hell, people who did recover well, people who didn't... jeonghan comes into his room one night and takes his phone, setting it aside before curling up with him and telling him he has to take care of himself or he'll die. his mom doesn't want to lose her son. he doesn't want to lose his best friend, either.
he wakes up in the middle of the night coughing up flowers, climbing over jeonghan to make it to the bathroom in time. the buds are getting bigger, and he just stares at them with wet eyes bc it hurts so bad. and deep down, he thinks he should just accept it. he's the one who fell for you. it's his own fault for not loving someone who loved him back.
things get worse. you catch him coughing up petals (and an actual flower, but that much you don't see) one day, before it gets bad, and you confront him about it. he tells you outright that he didn't want you to feel guilty because it isn't your fault. you remind him that it is, and he only tells you that he could never hate you. you tell him he should because you don't love him back the way he deserves to be loved. you wish you could, at least to stop his suffering. you tell him that as much as you do love him as your friend, you'll make things easier for him and let this be the last time the two of you see one another. you've been planning on transferring to a different school for a while. you weren't sure how to tell him since you didn't want him to think it was because of this--you just had better scholarships there and the program was better for your major. but since the two of you don't share any classes anymore, you'll stop seeing him entirely. with one last hug, you tell him to please take care of himself and that you do love him (still not in the way that would fix this).
he goes home and probably just kind of breaks down in his kitchen after telling himself that he's completely fine. that this is good. but he can still feel shit in his throat, and he drops a glass, and it all just kind of comes crashing down around him. he texted jeonghan on the ride back about what happened, and he said he'd be home in a few minutes but he'd stop and grab him something sweet from the store. just as a tiny distraction from how much he's hurting. he sinks down onto the floor as he lets himself cry the way he needs to, everything just kind of coming to a crescendo.
and then he just realizes he can't catch his breath anymore. he reaches for his phone, trying to breathe. the door opens and he hears jeonghan call out for him, only to hear him scream his name before immediately pulling out his phone. the paramedics are on the way, and jeonghan is doing the best he can, guided by the person on the phone to help him. by the time they arrive, he's passed out and they're already working to clear his airways and making the call for an emergency procedure.
when joshua wakes up fully (coming in and out of consciousness for days bc fucking ouch), its to the sound of his mom talking to the nurse taking his vitals. he rouses, and the nurse is gentle before leaving to get his doctor. his mom cries and hugs him tight, calling him stupid for the first time since he did something dangerous as a child. but his limbs feel heavy as lead, and he tries his best to hold her and apologize.
when the doctor starts to ask questions, joshua realizes that... he doesn't remember anything about the person he fell in love with at all. not their name, the way they look, etc. and jeonghan has to be the one who steps in and tells him that the person isn't in his life anymore. its not unheard of for joshua to not remember anything about the person he fell in love with, but it isn't exactly common. they'll check back with him in a few days since he's staying for observation until he can be released: sometimes patients wake up not remembering, but remember more over the following days.
and he doesn't. joshua begs jeonghan to tell him something while his mom is out of the room (to get a proper meal--after joshua begged and jeonghan reassured her that he'd stay until she came back). so jeonghan agrees to tell him the basics: he met someone. he fell in love. they rejected him. and then he came home and began coughing up petals, and refused to get help to the point where jeonghan came home and found him collapsed on the floor. all of it gives him a headache, but he's thankful to have a little piece of his story back with him.
uh idk where i'd go from here. i'd probs leave jeonghan's story out and unwritten for a reason, but i'd maybe end it off a few years later with joshua getting the call from seokmin asking if he could convince his friend to go through with it bc he remembers enough about the suffering he went through. and joshua agrees without a second thought, not wanting anyone else to go through what he did.

Seventeen Reaction: Seeing Your Naked Body for the First Time
Request: how do you think svt would react to seeing your naked body for the first time 😳 A/N: i tried to make these as gender neutral as possible ALSO some of these are more nsfw than others so read at your own risk sfjsdf
Seungcheol: "Take them off for me, then." Cheol's voice is husky as he sits on the bed, leaning back, strong arms propping up his upper half. You're a deer in headlights, eyes alternating between boring a hole into his because he can't be serious right now and flitting around the room to avoid eye contact altogether. "What do you—" You can't even finish your question, feeling silly for even asking. "If you want me like you say you do, then take your clothes off for me. Let me see you." You gulp, feeling like you might just crawl out of your skin as your mind races with anxieties, hopes, desires. Your body, on the other hand, is listening to the authority in his voice just perfectly, your clothes falling to the floor one after another. His eyes follow your every movement, tongue tracing the shape of his all-too-perfect lips. Once you've completed what he asked of you, his eyes make their way back to yours, taking their sweet time to enjoy the sights along the way. He smiles, his hand reaching for yours and tugging gently until you're close enough for him to sit you on his knee. He gives you a far softer kiss than you're expecting, one that doesn't last as long as you had hoped, but you forgive him when his lips opt to wander across your cheek, stopping just below your ear. "You are perfect, my baby," he whispers, his hand smoothing over your thigh in comfort. You don't realize you've been holding your breath until you exhale deeply, his gentle touch and reassurance all you needed to feel what matters most: safety—something you never lack with Cheol.
Jeonghan: "Hi, Hannie," you singsong into the receiver of your phone, water droplets from your hair leaving a trail behind you as you exit your bathroom. "Guess who's standing outside your door with takeout?" Right to the point, naturally. You smile fondly. You've always loved how Jeonghan surprises you. You were supposed to go out for dinner tonight, but here he is, surprising you with takeout so you can stay in alone. You're too busy feeling your heart double in size that you almost forget your situation—you are completely naked post-shower and he is right outside your door, prepared to walk in at any moment. "Wait! I uh—" You don't want to say the words. Somehow just telling him that you're naked feels incredibly intimate. "What's wrong? Was this the wrong move? Ah, you probably really wanted to go out tonight—" Letting him think he's the problem here is not an option. "No! I just, um. I... need to get dressed?" Your words sound like a question and Jeonghan, being the person he is, takes that as an opportunity to counter you. "Don't," he says simply. You're silent, jaw slack as you try to process what's happening. Did he really say that? Did he mean something else and you're not smart enough to understand? As if he can read your mind, he clarifies. "Unless you tell me not to, I'm going to come in right now, okay?" Your mouth is dry as you rush to sit on your couch to wait for him, hugging a pillow to your body for some sense of concealment. Your own heartbeat is so loud that you can't hear his footsteps approaching you, only being aware of his presence when he's standing in front of you. His head tilts at the sight of you and he sits, turning his body towards you. "Why are you hiding from me?" He asks, his hands reaching for the pillow, checking your eyes for approval before he slowly removes it from your grasp. You feel small and vulnerable, but not for long. "Don't hide from me. You're beautiful." He pulls you into him, arms wrapped protectively around you as he kisses the top of your head, hand stroking the back of your wet tresses. "I see you're an air dryer," he teases and you can't help but laugh away the rest of your nerves.
Joshua: “G’morning,” Joshua rasps against your neck, arms wrapped around your waist as his figure is molded to the back of yours. You hum happily, sleepily, tightening his arms around you with your own before lazily turning to face him. “Morning, Josh.” You find his lips with yours, arms moving around his neck for leverage as you press your front against his, your desire clear but surprising. Lucky for him, he doesn’t miss a beat. He rolls himself on top of you, lips never parting even as he mumbles against them. “Tell me.” You know what he means. “Want you, Josh.” His lips quirk into a smirk that you can feel on yours before he sits up. He catches your gaze and refuses to let go of it as his fingers find the hem of your shirt, slowly sliding it up your torso and leaving a trail of goosebumps in its wake. His eyes abandon yours only to sparkle as he takes you in, his gentle hands removing each piece of clothing from you one by one. “Look at you,” he glowers, his finger lightly tracing the shapes of your newly naked body. "Can't believe you've been hiding this from me," he mumbles as his head dips, leaving open-mouthed kisses on every inch of skin he can reach.
Junhui: Jun doesn't know what you're upset about. All he knows is that you don't want to talk about it and what you do seem to want is him. After prompting you to take some of the weight off your shoulders more than a few times only to be shut down as you instead kissed him and pulled at his clothes, he understood what it was that you needed from him. He gathered you in his arms and carried you to his bed, oh-so careful as he placed you on the edge, nudging himself between your thighs. He has no intentions of having you for himself, his only focus to help you relax. Your sweet, desperate moans as he kisses down your neck are music to his ears, his hands working expertly to shed the clothing that you can't seem to get off of you fast enough. You start to pull at his again, the urge to drown yourself in being together controlling your every move, but his hand gently swats yours away. Not today. His hands hold yours, spreading them out to your sides as he pulls back to look at you. He doesn't say anything. He doesn't have to. The slight slackening of his jaw and the slow motion of his eyes are all anyone would need to know exactly what he's experiencing—awe. The inability to use your hands and the lack of his mouth on your skin suddenly makes you feel as bare as you are, eyes darting to the ground. Jun's hands slowly untangle themselves from yours, gliding up your arms, your shoulders, your neck. He leaves one on the side of your neck while the other inches under your chin, lifting your gaze up to his. "You're too beautiful to hurt this much." His eyes and his tone are unwavering, conveying more sincerity than you've ever felt from anyone. "Let me take care of you," he exhales as his forehead falls against yours, his hand dropping between your legs to give you the relief you came to him for.
Soonyoung: You stand near the edge of your bed, eying the different sets of lingerie you've recently purchased. Which one was the right one for tonight? For the first time ever, you planned to let Hoshi see you fully after dinner. You just wanted him to see you wrapped in a pretty package first. You needed to decide soon. He was just in the other room, lounging on the couch while scrolling on his phone, waiting for you to be ready. He had already mentioned a time or ten that he was starving. You start to reach for a pretty white set with a garter belt when the sound of Hoshi's voice and a door swinging open startles you. "Y/n, are you almost ready? I'm about to die h— WOW!" You jump and spin around to face him, your arms doing what they can to cover yourself. "HOSHI! What the fuck?!" It takes him several seconds too long to correct the situation. Several seconds of him just staring at you like he's stumbled upon something miraculous. "HOSHI!" You yell again and he finally snaps out of it, eyes nervously darting around before he claps his hand over his eyes. "What?! Fuck. I'm sorry! I just— I thought you would be... being naked... in the bathroom!" You can't help but laugh. He looks so cute standing there like a sim, desperately trying to glue his own hand to his face as if it would erase what just happened. Even upon hearing your laugh, he doesn't budge. You speak soothingly as you cross the room to where he stands in the doorway. "It's okay, dummy. You weren't supposed to see me like this until after dinner, but I guess there's nothing we can do about that now, hm?" You press a soft kiss to his lips—one he's not expecting with his absence of vision—and then spin him around gently, pushing him out of your room and closing the door once more so you can actually get dressed this time.
Wonwoo: "Are you sure you're okay with this? Arms up." Wonwoo's voice is so gentle, waiting for your affirmative nod before lifting your shirt from your body. You feel exposed, naturally, but you don't hide from him as he carries on, carefully taking off your bottoms followed by your undergarments. He gives you a onceover and tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, kissing your temple, not putting any weight on you being bare before him for the first time. "In you go." And you do, climbing into the warm bath he prepared when you texted that you were almost home. You had called him earlier in the day to complain about how much pressure you were feeling with your workload and, being the darling he is, he wanted to help you destress. He wasn't expecting you to ask him to join you. As you melt into the water, he undresses himself before climbing in behind you, positioning you so that your back rests against his chest. "I've got you." His hushed tone is laced with so much warmth that your eyes flutter closed, not a worry in the world that can bother you now.
Jihoon: You sigh and lean your head back on the armrest of the couch in Jihoon’s studio. It was to be expected that if you met him here, you wouldn’t be able to hold much of his attention, but today is the day you want it the most. Today is the day you feel like you can’t go one more second without having him. A lightbulb springs bright above your head as an idea forms, a knowing smirk playing on your lips. Your gaze floats to the back of his chair, picturing the face you love so perfectly in your mind as you start to undress yourself as quietly as possible. Just the feeling of undressing yourself with him so close yet so unaware is sending wave after wave of heat through your body. You wait until you are completely bare before calling his name in the sweetest voice you can muster. He swivels in his chair right away. “Yes, y/n?” He freezes when his eyes land on you, doubling their size in disbelief. “Y/n! I—” You smile at how startled he is, reveling in his inability to form words at the mere sight of you. “Hmm?” You prompt teasingly. His eyes trail from yours to your toes and back again, maintaining that eye contact as he finally finds the words he has been looking for. “Your body is even more beautiful than I could’ve imagined.” The warmth of your body cocoons your heart then, the sound of wheels rolling towards you creating a bonus sensation—anticipation.
Seokmin: "You were so sweet tonight, Min." Your compliment brings you exactly what you wanted: that bright smile that rivals only the sun. "Me? I didn't do anything special," he muses as he looks at you, curiosity glittering in his eyes. You chuckle as your hands travel up his chest, tilting your head slightly as you steal his gaze with yours. "On the contrary, actually. While everyone else around was trying to undress me with their eyes tonight, you were a perfect gentleman." You can swear you hear him gulp, his newly nervous smile twitching as he tries to formulate what he wants to say. You don't let him. "I know you, though. You did want to look, right? You want to see more?" The bright, assured smile is back in full force as he nods his head, more than happy to admit it. You simply nod and peck his lips before stepping back, your hands smoothing down your stomach and your thighs as a treat for his eyes to follow before you slowly undress yourself for him. You grin as you watch his beautiful doe eyes round in surprise, his bottom lip snug between his teeth. "Whoa. You are so..." He starts, his hands reaching for your waist but hesitating, not sure if touching is a step too far. "How did I get so lucky?" He asks, his voice small, his eyes full of emotion as he looks away from your figure and into your own eyes. It almost hurts how precious he is. You take his hands and place them on your waist, stepping closer so your bare chest is pressed against his clothed one. "If anyone is lucky here, it's me, Min."
Mingyu: Your hands tangle in the back of Mingyu's hair, your body rising and falling in his lap as you seek more of him, your tongue gliding over his for what must be the millionth time in the past ten minutes. Every heavy exhale that leaves his pretty mouth is driving you insane, making you pull at his hair which only makes him groan, continuing the cycle. His hands have been quite polite—too polite. They started on your waist, traveled to the outsides of your thighs where they palmed as much of your thigh as they could, but haven't moved much since. All you've gotten are delicious squeezes and itchy fingers, playing with the hem of your clothes without making any actual move forward. You need more. "Fuck, Gyu," you sigh as you pull back from him, taking a moment to steady yourself as the room spins, the only anchor you've known being Mingyu's strong body and plush lips. He seems to be just as dizzy, his head falling back on the top of the couch cushions, lids low and breath heavy as he smirks at you. He doesn't bother asking what you mean because he knows. He knows he makes you crazy. This time, though, you decide to make him crazy. Without leaving his lap, you maneuver yourself out of your clothes until they're nothing but a pile on the ground, tousling your hair as a bonus. His body is still as his eyes rake over your form all too casually. You let him take his time despite practically vibrating with need in his lap. You yelp when you're caught off-guard by his hands suddenly groping your ass, pulling you firmly against the stiffness in his jeans as he gazes up at you. "You really like me this much, huh?" You don't even need to see the smirk on his face to know it's there.
Minghao: You nervously drop the silken robe wrapping your body to the floor, allowing Minghao to see your body bare for the first time. You had planned this. You wanted him and knew you would have to let him know on your own if you intended on having him. You didn't want him to question whether you were sure or not so you opted for the bold approach. You had been waiting for him to come home and now he was, standing on the other side of the bedroom as you offered yourself to him wordlessly. He doesn't flinch. His face is unmoving aside from his eyes, roaming your body from your toes to your face in what must be slow motion. His lips quirk into a small smirk when his eyes finally meet yours. "What is it, y/n? Do you want something?" He teases, eyes blinking so casually at you it makes your skin burn. Despite his teasing, there's a subtle softness to his gaze, a tint of love.
Seungkwan: You're rolling around in Seungkwan's sheets, both pairs of hands focused on removing all clothing from the opposite body. You're not sure why this exact evening was the one that the tension finally snapped—seemingly at the same time for both of you—but neither of you could seem to stop yourselves from chasing as much physical closeness as humanly possible. Before you even have time to comprehend it, you're completely naked beneath him, his hands gliding over every limb and expanse of your skin, feeling what he's only ever dreamed of before. You sigh happily under his touch, tilting your head back into the mattress as his lips trail across your shoulders before dipping down towards your chest. You can feel yourself tense under him, the anticipation spiking incredibly high, but it melts just as quickly as it built when his mouth abandons your skin. You gasp as you feel his hand slide up the back of your neck, palming the back of your head as he lifts your eyes back to his. A second passes, then two, then three. "You're really perfect everywhere, you know that?" He asks, insisting on your affirmation—in this case, a sweet nod—before he continues on, his mouth fully intent on exploring every inch of your body until the sun comes up.
Vernon: Vernon gazes up at you from his bed, head perched against the backboard as his expression reads both curiosity and amusement. "I'm just saying, you know. We've never seen each other naked and it's starting to make me feel like we're building it up too much and I think that if we continue at this rate, I will just get more and more nervous about it and—" Thankfully, he stops you from rambling on any further. "Y/n." It's all you need to close your mouth, shifting your weight nervously as you can only look at him now and hear what he has to say about your vulnerability. "Let's not build it up any more then, yeah? Let me see you." Oh. You almost protest. You want to say I didn't mean right this second or Hey, what about you? But you don't. Instead, his surprising decisiveness makes you want to do just as he says. And you do. You start undressing yourself where you stand on the other side of the room, feeling like maybe the distance will make you feel less exposed. But once you're done, Vernon pats his lap, not moving an inch from where he lies. "Come here, baby. I want to see you better." You make your way to him on nervous footing, climbing onto his lap and doing everything in your power to resist hiding yourself from him. You've never felt the need to do so before and you're not going to start now. The fond smile on his face does a lot to calm your nerves but you are still buzzing. This is your Vernon. Remember. "You know what you are?" He asks, eyes trained on yours as his thumbs rub into your outer thighs soothingly. "Are you going to say something corny right now? Like let me guess, you were going to say beautiful or something right?" You don't mean to be sassy but you default there when you're nervous. He laughs. "Actually, I was going to say you're my everything." Your face scrunches up and you smack his chest half-heartedly. "Vernon! That's even worse!" He can't help but beam up at you. "Maybe, but you feel better now, don't you?" He's right.
Chan: “We’re so fucking late.” The words rush out of your mouth as you toss the sheets off of you, grabbing for any fresh clothes you can access easily that might make a bit of sense when paired together. Chan rolls around in the bed. It doesn’t appear he plans to get a move on any time soon despite being very late for your brunch plans with your friends. “Chan! Shower. Now.” He groans, covering his eyes with his forearm as if not seeing you will make the situation disappear. You take a deep breath to calm yourself. “Chan, we need to get into the shower. Right now.” You’ve never seen him spring to life so quickly, suddenly on his feet and guiding you towards the bathroom with a hand on the small of your back. “You’re right, we do.” The emphasis in his tone makes you roll your eyes. Of course he’s more focused on the showering together part and not so much on the we’re-really-fucking-late part. The second you’re inside the bathroom, you start peeling off your clothing and he doesn’t hesitate to follow your lead, leaving you both naked in front of each other for the first time in under a minute. The smirk on his face calls for another eye roll from you. “Okay, if you’re done staring, can we just—” You don’t get to finish before he’s teasing you. “Y/n, if you wanted to get me naked so badly, you could’ve just asked~”

info: yoon jeonghan/reader, pg, post-breakup au genre: angst | word ct: 1k warnings: none summary: when it comes to a broken heart, sometimes even the best memories are better left forgotten.
It’s just a dinner. You found yourself telling your reflection. It’s just a couple of hours, I can handle that.
Usually you didn’t need to give yourself a pep talk to get out the door, but that day was different. That day was going to be difficult to say the least. It was the first family event you’d been to since you—since he broke up with you. Since he took your heart in his hand and crushed it. What made it even worse, was that your family loved him, he was the life of the party, kind and considerate. They were hoping you would marry him. And, well, as much as you shared their sentiments, he evidently had different plans for his life.
“I can’t do this anymore, I’m sorry.”
Those were the exact words out of his mouth, and you’re pretty sure they’ll haunt you for the rest of your life. But, you had to move on. Your life couldn’t come to a complete halt because of one heartbreak. Even if it made it hard for you to get up in the morning. So you sucked it up, you put on your big girl pants and went to that dinner with your chin held high. When in actuality you really wish you’d stayed home.
You weren’t even two steps in the door when you were bombarded with questions. How’s work? How’s school going? Did you get that promotion? Is that a tattoo? The list went on and on and on. Obviously they didn’t ask questions about him, that would be too brash, but the way they were pointedly asking about everything else made it painfully clear. They all wanted to ask, just didn’t have the balls to. Somehow that was worse.
So you answered their questions with a smile, told them what they wanted to hear, you built that wall up three months ago and you’d be damned if you let them break through. Once they exhausted their false interest in your personal life, you headed over to the bar to grab yourself a much needed drink. Braving the rest of the evening was far less daunting with a bit of liquid courage coursing through you.
As it got closer to a socially acceptable time where you could make your escape, you thought you were in the clear. Even your nosey mother didn’t go prying into what happened with him, something you deeply appreciated. For all intents and purposes, you were off the hook. Of course, you’ve never been that lucky, that would’ve been far too easy.
“Aunty?” You heard a very familiar voice call up to you.
“Hani!” You exclaimed when you looked down to see your most favorite niece in the whole world. “Where have you been hiding?”
She stuck her thumb in her mouth and pointed at her brothers. “I was playing with Daesun and Daeyong. They got new dinosaurs.”
“Whoa!” You said enthusiastically. “New dinosaurs! That’s amazing! I wish I had new dinosaurs.”
“Mm.” She hummed, her wide eyes looking up at you expectantly. “Where’s Jeonghan?”
Gone.
Not even meaning to, you suddenly remembered him packing his bags, you remembered begging him to stay. You desperately wanted to talk, to figure it all out, but he made it clear that he only wanted to leave. He didn’t love you anymore. Forcing him to keep dating someone he wasn’t interested in was torture.
“Jeonghan,” You said, choking on each syllable, “please, please, don’t do this. Let’s sit down, let’s talk about this—”
“Why?” He practically spat. “It’s over, nothing you say is going to change that.”
His cold tone stopped you in your tracks. “Why—why are you acting like this? Like—like you don’t care...”
“Maybe I don’t.” He returned vehemently. “Ever think of that?”
One thing you were grateful of, was that his words didn’t leave any room to question. You’ve broken up with a handful of other guys, but you always cushioned the blow, broke their hearts instead of shattering them. Maybe Jeonghan learned from your mistakes, because you didn’t doubt him at all. It was over in an instant. It was over and you were painfully alone.
You plastered a forced smile on your face as you kneeled down beside her. “He’s not living with me anymore, I’m sorry Hani.”
“Why not?” Hani asked innocently.
Please don’t. “We’re not together anymore.”
“But you love him.” She persisted, her words cutting deep.
“Why are you acting like this? Like you don’t care?”
“Maybe I don’t. Ever think of that?”
Fighting back tears, you nodded. “That’s right. I do.”
She cocked her head in confusion. “Then why?”
Feeling your resolve break, you offered her a sad smile as you stroked her hair. “Because, love isn’t always enough.”
Before you had an emotional breakdown in front of the entire family, you ran into the bathroom and locked the door behind you. For months you’d been telling myself that you were fine, that if he didn’t want to be with you anymore then you would let him go. You’d let him be happy. He didn’t love you and that was okay. You were okay. Those were lies, all lies, and as you dropped to the floor, your body shaking, you sobbed harder than you ever had before.
Why? You asked yourself for the hundredth time. Why did he leave? We were happy, we were going to start a life together. He told me that he loved me, was it—was it all a lie?
Wrapping your arms around your knees, you tried your hardest to bury yourself in your regret. You thought you were okay. I was okay. As your vision started to get blurry, you could only think of all the times you were happy together. You were happy for three years, you were perfect for three years.
Wiping at your persistent tears, you pulled out your phone. Opening Instagram, you immediately let out a quiet laugh. You hadn’t changed your profile picture yet, you couldn’t bring yourself to. It was a picture of the gigantic Kumamon plushie he won for you at the fair standing upright beside you, making you look comically small in comparison.
Hesitantly, you scrolled through your account, a sad smile creasing your face as you remembered the memories behind the pictures. The two of you were happy, that much was clear. The three years you spent together wasn’t a lie. His brilliant smile was the brightest part of your life. You had laughed together about everything, shared a love of music, a desire to create a life together, it was hard to think that it was all over in one evening. How he said only a few words to you and left forever.
I miss him. You finally admitted to yourself. I miss him so much.
Tears still rolling down your cheeks, you couldn’t help but smile. Even though he left, even though you weren’t sure if you’d ever see him again, you still had a piece of him that he left with you. And it wasn’t on your phone. It wasn’t the pictures, it wasn’t the posts on facebook or the late night talks on Kakao, it was the memories. Because, no matter how often you tried to convince yourself otherwise, you were in love, and you were happy. And that would never leave you.
Would you like to delete your account?
You hesitated only slightly, your finger hovering over your phone. With one last look at the physical proof of your happiness with Jeonghan and your life together, you made your decision.
YES.

of all the views you had seen, there was little that could compare to him.
6.2k | cavalry captain!jeonghan x gn pyro!reader, genshin impact au, fluff, adventure, drinking, so much flirting, mentions of trauma, honestly this is the sweetest i'm ever gonna write jeonghan
happy inazuma release day!!! it's your local kaeya trash, because i predictably fall for gay bastards that lie straight to my face (example: jeonghan), and i'm here to give you a fic i wrote AGES ago and just polished up a bit to celebrate the release of what is likely going to be my FAVORITE region in genshin impact. i'm japanese so 😅 i have a soft spot. if there's any other gaymer carats out there, enjoy this one. if not, sorry! you can actually probably still read this and understand it for the most part, though you might miss a bit of context of the landscape and the lore.
ps. go tell @babiemingoo that wonwoo xinqiu 🤭
~
your work with the adventurer's guild was always efficient. you received your commissions, you carried them out, then returned for your reward, usually before the sun had even peaked. the rest of your day was generally spent either basking in the eternal sun of mondstadt, feeding cats in inazuma, or enjoying a hard earned meal in liyue, depending on where you decided to stay that week, finding board and paying for it with the commission you had earned that day. your tendency to wander came less from choice and more from nature - you could call yourself a nomad, but generally, you just got bored, and preferred seeing everything teyvat had to offer rather than settling in one place. adventuring was simply what you were meant to do, your mother had told you at a young age.
she, too, had wandered for most of her youth, and didn't stop just because you had come into her life. you remembered getting scooped up because you had wandered off a bit too close to the railing at wangshu inn as a toddler, playing with dogs at the docks of liyue harbor. you remembered the ludi harpastum and the first time you had ever had a sweet honey roast, and the way it made your eyes grow ten times in size before you dug in for more.
when your vision was bestowed upon you, you already knew how to use a sword. it was important, your mother told you, that you knew how to protect yourself. she had a vision as well, younger even than you had, and you had come to recognize the static in the air as a sign that she was angry - whether it was because of an altercation with someone on your journey or because you had secretly eaten the last hashbrown without consulting her first.
she used her vision and a sturdy blade she had owned since before you were born to protect the two of you on the road, but when she felt you were old enough, she taught you how to weild. a two handed weapon that was far too big for you when you were only fourteen, but when your reckless abandon got paired with a spark, you suddenly became far more dangerous than even your own mother. she scolded you for nearly starting a forest fire when you tried to pair the two skills for the first time after receiving your vision, and you both agreed that training was a beach activity from then on.
your mother settled eventually, after you were old and skilled enough to take on the road alone, pulling the many favors she had gathered in her travels to build a home in a small neighborhood south of liyue harbor, nestled in the foothills of mount tianheng, where you visited as often as your wandering allowed.
you had become much better with your vision. more careful but just as hot. quick to scan situations and strategize in the moment, hardly taking a second before jumping into action, slaying hilichurls like you were getting paid. well, you were, you supposed, but you had been doing this long before you had discovered the benefit of joining the guild. you were good at it. you were built for adventure, but revelled in leisure. there was good reason you were able to take afternoons off, and you milked every last second of it.
"you're back in town?"
you grinned, leaning your sword against the wall and dropping your bag off your shoulders before settling at the bar. "for now."
rubin often served you alcohol - when you were in mondstadt, at least, however often that may be - but never questioned you deeply. he would ask how your travels were, and listen to your stories from regions beyond his knowledge, of the cultures that he had only heard of from people like you. he enjoyed them just about as much as any, if not a little more, purely because your tenacious personality brought something more to the table. he wondered, though, how long you intended to keep living day by day, sleeping in different beds every week.
"what's wrong with sleeping in different beds?" you teased, laughing into your wine glass. "if i didn't know any better, i'd think you were shaming me, rube."
rubin simply laughed, knowing your tone by now. "i just wonder if you ever intend on digging in your roots, or if you'll continue travelling forever."
"if i dig roots, you may never see me again. is that what you want?"
"what," he said. "you don't like mondstadt?"
"i love monstadt," you assured him. "but i also love inazuma. and my mother is in liyue, though she might be upset with me if i try to settle too close to her. perhaps natlan would suit me more?" you shrugged finally, the door behind you opening as you finished with "i suppose i'll settle when i've found a reason to love one place more than the rest."
rubin shook his head, a chuckle falling from his lips. "a wanderer through and through." his attention was quickly drawn to the man entering the bar. "ah, captain! the usual?"
"please," the decorated man said, quickly taking a seat beside you despite the rest of the bar being available. "would you like another, wanderer?"
you eyed him cautiously, studying what you could see if his face around the black eyepatch, gaze skimming down his elaborate clothing before looking down at your emptied drink. "sure."
"another for your wandering friend, rubin, on my tab, please." your brain swirled, considering the brief information you had been given and wondered how you had never managed to meet this regular during your past visits. "are you just drinking dandelion wine, or something more fun?"
"more fun?" you asked. "what are you drinking, then?"
"well, a death after noon, of course," he stated. "don't tell me you haven't had one."
you blinked at him. "i haven't."
you turned towards rubin when he laughed at the back and forth. "shall i make two, then?"
"definitely," your new drinking buddy said, then gestured to you. "you trust my taste, right?"
you said nothing, but he accepted your silent smile as an agreeance. "captain," you said finally, thinking of how rubin had addressed him. "of?"
the man turned towards you, his elbow planted on the bar and his cheek on a fist. despite his get up, he had a playful smirk across his lips. "you mean, my reputation doesn't precede me? you really are a wanderer. everyone in mondstadt knows my name."
"everyone but me," you corrected. "as i'm currently in mondstadt."
his teeth shone behind his smirking lips before he sat up straight. "well, allow me to introduce myself." he saluted, his arm extending from his side at an angle - a salute you recognized from the guards around the city. "i am jeonghan, the cavalry captain of the knights of favonius."
"ah, the knights," you smiled briefly, before letting your eyes wander as you thought, crossing your arms over the bar. "i don't see much of a cavalry in the city, though."
he let out an amused exhale. "so i have a bit more free time these days."
"i'm sure the acting grand master is jealous of all your free time," you teased. "poor guy, looks like he's staving off a panic attack every time i see him. you should probably help him more."
"so," he sighed, leaning against the bar again. "you know of the acting grand master but not me?"
"jihoon?" you asked. "of course i know of him. he's all anyone ever talks about around here."
jeonghan nodded once, thanking rubin when he placed two drinks before you. "people talk about me, also, you know."
your lips stuck out in a pout. "jeonghan, you said? doesn't ring a bell."
he rolled his eyes and picked up his drink, holding it out for you to cheers against. you giggled, clinking your glass against his before taking a sip. the golden liquid was sweet, but not like the dandelion wine you had grown to love in this region. it had more depth, a subtle bitterness to it, and a refreshing bubble. you stared after the glass when it left your lips, then looked over to find jeonghan grinning at you.
"i see why it's your usual," you said, taking another sip before placing the glass on the bar. "i could drink too many."
"will you?" he asked.
"not tonight," you replied coolly. "i haven't asked sana to put me up at the guild yet, and if i get there too late, i'll get a cot instead of a bed. unless rubin finally wants to come clean about something?"
the bartender laughed. "how many times do i have to tell you? we don't even have rooms to board."
you squinted at him. "i know there's something upstairs. i'll learn your secrets one day, rube."
"i wouldn't be a very good bartender if i didn't know how to keep them."
"so you're in the guild?" jeonghan asked as rubin attended to another patron. "an adventuring wanderer."
you smiled vaguely at him. "i am. i have to pay for my travels somehow."
he shrugged. "there's other ways to make money. probably more profitable, too."
you eyed his teasing smirk. "i'm not sure i know what you're implying."
"as a captain of the knights of favonius, i assure you, i'm implying nothing at all," he said, exhaling sharply and adjusting on his stool. he leaned over towards you before speaking in a quieter tone. "but as jeonghan, i think you know exactly what i'm implying."
you only laughed, recognizing the thinly veiled attempt to worm a secret out of you. "i outgrew those means a long time ago. besides, when mora gets tight, i can always board up with my mother. i like liyue enough."
jeonghan studied you as you drank again. "liyue's home, is it?'
"for her, yes," you said, looking over to him, but you found yourself looking away again when his steely blue gaze met yours. you thought carefully about how much of yourself you were willing to reveal to this stranger, especially considering how important he was in the rule of the city. "she was a wanderer, too, and ended up falling in love with liyue harbor."
jeonghan made note of the way your face softened as you spoke about your mother. "and what about you?"
you met his intent look again, thinking about how his covered eye somehow made him even more intimidating. perhaps that was its purpose. "what about me?"
"what have you fallen in love with?"
a smile crept onto your lips as you processed his question. "oh, archons, what have i not fallen in love with? the smell of the open ocean in inazuma, the breathtaking temples in sumeru - have you ever been to waterfall city?"
jeonghan merely shook his head at you, the corners of his mouth turning upwards as he put his cheek on a fist again, leaning against the bar. "beautiful?"
you exhaled, eyes wide as you thought of the towering falls and the light mist that covered the city, trying to come up with an apt description. "humbling. there's nothing like it."
he watched your expression, head tilting further. "what a wonderful way to describe a place. tell me more."
your gaze went to him, then away briefly, feeling suddenly shy as you noticed his look. "about waterfall city?"
he shrugged a fur covered shoulder, shaking his head lightly. "about anywhere. describe your world, wanderer. i'd like to hear whatever you have to say."
you wondered if the heat that ran through you was because of the alcohol or the man, but you just took another drink and cleared your throat lightly, thinking of more places you had discovered in your travels. you thought of qingce village, one of your favorite places to visit, because the people are kind and welcoming and the fields are so beautiful. you told him about a tea shop owned by an old man - he insisted you call him pops so fiercely that you weren't even sure you had caught his given name - and it was probably the most relaxing cup of tea you ever had.
"it's been a while since i've gone," you sighed. "i think i'm overdue for a chat with pops and his tea."
jeonghan was smiling when you looked at him again. "the tea in liyue is unmatched," he said, reaching for his drink. before taking another sip, he gestured for you to continue.
so you did. you told him about sakura pond, about celestia city, about the volcanic black beaches. you told him liyue had your favorite people, but inazuma had your favorite food. he clicked his tongue at you.
"what about mondstadt? do we have one of your favorites?"
you smiled, genuinely. "sunsets. the night sky is different here than it is anywhere else. i think mondstadt is the closest we can get to the stars without joining the archons."
jeonghan studied you briefly, his blue eye flicking over your face as you finished your drink. "i think that's an apt observation. it seems your eyes are always wide."
"i travel for the views," you exhaled. "i don't plan on missing any."
he thought a second. "have you been to starsnatch cliff?"
your eyes lit up. "not in years," you said, in complete shock that you could have forgotten such a place. you pushed from the bar slightly, turning towards him, and he noticed the flash of a red gem strapped to your right thigh for the first time. "my mother took me there when i was a kid, but i haven't gone since."
"it never gets old," he said, sipping at the end of his drink. "i've yet to see that view and not be in awe."
"i'll go before i leave mondstadt again," you decided.
he looked to you. "when will that be?"
you sighed. "not sure, yet."
he just chuckled. "would you like another drink?"
"oh, no," you said, standing and stretching your spine. "i should make my leave. i don't like sleeping on cots. i just came by to let my ol' pal rube know i was in town again."
jeonghan watched you pull your pack onto your back, grabbing the handle of your sheathed claymore from where it was leaning against the wall next to the bar. "perhaps i'll see you again tomorrow?"
you looked at him, a vague smile on your lips as you strapped your sword back on. "perhaps you will, captain."
"jeonghan," he corrected. "but i don't believe you ever shared your name?"
"that was by design, captain," you said, and he swore he caught a glint in your eye as you bid rubin a farewell and stepped out of the angel's share.
jeonghan spun back around on his stool, immediately looking to rubin. "do you know their name?"
"no, sir," he said, looking at the closed door. "they've never said."
jeonghan's gaze went to the empty glass you had left behind, thinking about your stories, your sword, and the signifier of your vision on your thigh. "fascinating."
you got lucky - sana had a private room for you, and said you were welcome to rent it for your stay. she said not many people were travelling to mondstadt these days, and that more often than not, the adventurer's barracks in headquarters went unused. ever since the fatui had holed up in the grand goth hotel, it had been harder for you to make extended stays in mondstadt, but it seemed that something was telling you to stick around longer than usual. you laid on the hard mattress - a feeling that was more comforting than most, thanks to your continuous travels - and thought of the charming captain that had made a night of questioning you. you wondered if he really had any interest in anything you had to say, or if he had been hoping for details about something pertinent to an investigation.
you packed a lighter bag in the morning, only bringing along the essentials as you set out for your commissions for the day. that afternoon, you wandered around mondstadt and asked questions. questions about the simultaneously well-discussed and mysterious cavalry captain that had listened to your tales of travel, and answers came easier than expected, though they didn't contain all the details you were looking for. that night, you waited up at the angel's share to brag about your newfound knowledge to the captain that never showed, and you did your best to not let that hurt your ego.
the next day, you made a detour on your way back to the city after completing your commissions, stopping by springvale to enjoy a well deserved lunch and catch up with some locals. you sat in the grass with a skewer of grilled meat, watching the windmills of mondstadt steadily spin in the distance as time passed, thinking about how rubin had asked you if you didn't like it here.
you did, you decided. mondstadt felt different than anywhere else you had been. untouched, almost. wilder. freer. despite being born in inazuma, your first memories being in celestia, or your mother being in liyue, mondstadt felt comfortable. felt like a home. you wondered to yourself what that might mean.
sana greeted you happily when you returned much later than you normally did. she told you to go ahead to the guild and come back, filing away your reports and retrieving your rewards. you dropped off your things in your rented room, quickly, practically galloping back down the steps towards the entrance of the city to continue your conversation with the adventurer guilds' mighty receptionist without your sword weighing you down. you crossed your arms on the counter, comfortably lounging as you chatted with her, having always enjoyed her conversations more than most. like rubin, she was a reason mondstadt always felt comfortable.
"fancy meeting you here," an all too familiar voice said, and you pulled your eyes from sana to find jeonghan leaning his side against the counter next to you.
"good evening, cavalry captain!" sana chirped, placing your reward - your room free already removed - on the counter and bowing politely. "can i help you with anything today?"
his icy gaze flickered from your lightly curved lips towards sana. "oh, no, my dear. i'm just coming back from an investigation near springvale"
"interesting," you said, eyeing him. "i was just there and didn't see you."
"i wouldn't be very good at my job if you did, wanderer," he grinned. "knight business, you wouldn't understand. got the assignment yesterday."
"ah," you shifted to your side to face him, making him eye the vision on your thigh. "is that why you never showed? rubin was worried."
he looked you up and down. "rubin was, huh?"
you rolled your eyes and adjusted your posture to face away from his smirk. sana looked between the two of you twice before clearing her throat as quietly as possible, making jeonghan let out a chuckle before he directed his attention to the guild's receptionist.
"how goes holding the post, sana?"
she looked almost frightened when the attention was directed back to her. "good, captain! in fact, one of our most capable adventurers-" she gestured to you, "-just returned from taking care of some of our more difficult commissions - no one else would take them."
jeonghan looked at you. "why did sana have to tell your secret?"
your eyebrows quirked upwards. "what secret?"
"that you're good at this. shouldn't you be bragging?"
a chuckle spilled from your lips, and jeonghan watched you as you looked away. "i'm not the bragging type."
he studied you a moment. "what type are you, then?"
you considered the question, wondering exactly how to answer. what type were you? if not a teller, than surely you must be a shower, but that didn't seem right either. you exhaled. "the quiet type. see you later, sana."
he laughed, pushing off the counter as you tucked your mora into your waist bag, wishing sana a good evening and following you towards the fountain. "you sure talk a lot for being the quiet type."
a smirk landed itself on your lips as he fell into step beside you. "maybe private is a better description."
"that one i can see," jeonghan said, looking over to you. he thought of how you had spent nearly an hour telling him about the best views in teyvat, yet he still didn't know the most basic information about you. "do you share your name with anyone?"
you thought. "my mother."
he scoffed. "anyone else?"
you looked to the sky. "rubin."
"wrong," he retorted. "he doesn't know your name, either."
you laughed, looking over to him as you came up to the fountain, spinning and sitting back on the ledge. "you asked?"
"of course i asked," he said, planting one foot on the ledge beside you and placing his arms on his knee. "i asked other people, too. almost everyone knows you, but they don't know anything about you. bits and pieces, but never the full picture."
you just smiled up at him from your relaxed posture on the concrete. "what's wrong with a little intrigue?"
he just smiled back at you. "nothing. i tend to keep a bit myself. did you know there's a large number of people in this city that were shocked when i said you wield a claymore?"
you hummed, dipping the tips of your fingers into the fountain. "did you know there's a large number of people in this city that consider you the most eligible bachelor in not only mondstadt, but in all of teyvat?"
his lips parted slightly as you spoke. "so you snooped, too."
"i was bored yesterday. it wasn't hard," you exhaled. you flicked a drop of water towards his foot. "jeonghan yoon, the cavalry captain of the knights of favonius since he was only nineteen. who loves wine and whose adopted brother runs the biggest winery in teyvat, yet they're hardly ever seen speaking. who comes from a far off land on a different continent, but has come to love mondstadt like it was his home. who wears an eyepatch but has never told anyone why."
he chuckled at the assessment and pulled his foot off the ledge to sit beside you. "so when do i get to learn about you?"
"i told you about me yesterday," you said.
"you told me about teyvat," he corrected. "and while i was able to infer some things about your character, i still know close to nothing about you."
you thought for a moment, realizing no one had ever noticed how little you truly shared despite always being willing to tell stories. "sometimes it feels like i am teyvat. it's hard to think of things that are just about me."
"you could start with that vision," he said, nodding at the strap across your thigh. you looked down at it, exhaling.
"what's there to tell? you know what it means, and that's more teyvat than me, too."
he leaned back on a hand, looking you up and down in curiosity. "how old were you."
you chewed your cheek. "fourteen. you?"
his lip quirked upwards. "sixteen."
you bumped his shoulder with yours playfully. "beat you."
he laughed. "how'd it happen?"
you paused. "you go first."
he just chuckled and looked away, watching a dog wander past the general store. "another day, then."
"no fun," you sighed, brushing your hands together as you leaned forward. "what about the eyepatch?"
he met your eyes, mouth slanted in a smirk. "another day."
you clicked your tongue. "if you wanna learn about me, you have to be willing to give up some details, too. i value a fair trade."
"then stop asking questions that you know i won't share the answer to." jeonghan noticed the color of the sky, then suddenly pulled a pocket watch out, checking it quickly to confirm that there was enough time and stood. "come with me?"
you stared up at him. "where?"
he grinned, extending a hand to help you to your feet. "you said mondstadt's sunsets were your favorite, correct?"
you generally weren't prone to following mysterious men into back corridors, but jeonghan easily convinced you with no words at all that sneaking around the sight line of the acting grand master was completely normal behavior, sushing you with a grin as you giggled, taking refuge around a corner after the two of you made it up to the second floor of the favonius headquarters. he tugged your hand with his, pulling you into a steep maintenance staircase behind a door.
"this feels like it's against some rules," you said, climbing the stairs behind him.
"nonsense," he said, looking back at you and grinning. "are you suggesting that a knight of favonius would break rules just to impress a mysterious traveler?"
you laughed quietly, wondering if he really meant that he wanted to impress you. "not most, but maybe this one."
he only thought for a split second. "if anyone asks, we're on official knight business."
he opened the door and you found the sky again, beginning to glow orange as the edge of the sun began to hide behind the cliffs. you stared in awe at the way the few fluffy clouds reflected pink and gold, then readjusted your focus when jeonghan spoke again.
"i hope you aren't afraid of heights," he said, walking over to the parapets that surrounded you. "the best view requires a bit of a climb."
you looked up at the tower, and while it wasn't much higher than where you stood, you also recognized that you were well above most of mondstadt already. "you climb up there?"
he paused, studying you. "we don't have to, we can just sit on a merlon-"
"no, we can climb," you said, walking over to where he was and eyeing the small gap between the parapet and the adjacent roof. "hop over?"
he laughed, stepping over the gap and holding a hand out for you. "watch your step."
and though you didn't need it, you accepted the hand anyways, and it stayed on yours as you walked over the roof to the tower, as if making sure you didn't misstep several stories in the air.
"would you like to go first?" he asked. "i'll catch you if you fall."
you rolled your eyes at him, dropping your hand from his grip. "you go first. i want to see where the handholds are."
he just grinned at you. "very well," he said, tugging on the wrists of his fingerless gloves to make sure they were taught against his skin before taking hold of a brick. you watched him as he took foothold after foothold, and he resisted the urge to show off by speedily scaling the wall in favor of making sure you had the chance to see where he gripped. when he reached the opening in the tower, he pulled himself up and spun around, exhaling with a grin as he seated himself at the ledge with his legs dangling above you.
"your turn."
you adjusted your waist bag as you sighed in amused annoyance, spinning it to be behind you and out of your hips' way to climb the wall. it wasn't much - a couple meters, maybe - and you had definitely climbed further, but jeonghan's presence made you slightly nervous. that nervousness, however, just fueled you to prove yourself.
you scaled the wall easily, making jeonghan whistle and jokingly call you some kind of adventurer, and your only hesitation came when his hand was in your face. despite your initial inclination to ignore it, you put your left hand in his, allowing him to help you pull yourself up on the ledge and sit beside him.
"impressive," he commented.
you laughed, brushing off your hands. "you, too."
"c'mon," he said, gesturing his head over his shoulder before making moves to stand. "the view's on the other side."
you sighed, looking over the view of mondstadt shrouded in golden light as he stood and walked to the other ledge. "never a moment of rest with you."
"if you want to miss the sunset, be my guest."
you leaned back on your hands and laughed, pulling your gaze away from the city to look at where jeonghan had seated himself on the other end of the tower, and subsequently the view of the rolling hills beyond him that were glowing golden in the evening sun. you blinked for a second, realizing you hadn't seen the sunset the night before, and quickly got to your feet to join him before you missed this one, too.
he gave you a soft smile when you sat beside him, and you briefly wondered how many he had in his repertoire. the wind was stronger higher, whipping gently through his hair and alleviating any uncomfortable warmth you may have had from exerting yourself on the way up. you watched the dregs of sunlight skip across the grassy hills and the sky turn deep orange and bright pink, feet swinging lightly over the edge of the tower.
"i was fighting with my brother," he said suddenly, causing you to look at him with a start before you realized he was telling you about his vision. there was a slight smile on his face as he looked out on the fields. "hyungwon. it was bad. he already had his - he's a pyro, like you - and we were both young and stupid and just lost our dad. we were sword fighting and it came to me when i needed it. it probably saved my life, honestly."
you blinked at him. "you think he would have killed you?'
he exhaled, leaning back on his hands. "i think if the roles had been reversed, i would have tried to kill him, too. i'm grateful it didn't go that way, though." he coughed abruptly, clearing his throat. "we're on speaking terms, and i do love him as a brother, but i generally avoid him."
you let that thought ruminate as you watched the sun sink, halfway beyond the horizon. "my father was in a gang in inazuma, but my mom ran away when she found out she was pregnant. didn't want to raise a kid in that world, i guess? we ran into him when i got older and he wasn't very understanding." you paused, remembering the detail too well. "they were going to take her vision. that's what they did to traitors. probably take me, too. they weren't expecting me to start setting fires."
jeonghan's gaze was on you as yours was on the horizon. "just a couple of survivors."
you looked over at him, a smirk on your lips. "a couple?"
he laughed waving at your implication, thinking he would have said the same thing in an attempt to fluster you just as you were to him. "like, more than one and less than four."
you only laughed back. "fortune favors the weak, i suppose. the archons saw we needed help and extended a fig branch."
"is that what it was?" he asked, a laugh on his lips. "we were both fighting people. that's hardly an offer of peace."
"look for the deeper meaning, jeonghan. we were fighting for our lives," you pointed out, and he realized it was the first time you had addressed him by his name rather than his title. "i was fighting for family. for freedom. is that not the greatest pursuit of peace?"
he watched you as you pulled your knees to your chest, putting your feet on the edge of the stonework surface you sat on. he studied the way the golden rays lit your skin and made your eyes sparkle. "i suppose so."
you paused in that moment for a long while, and jeonghan allowed the comfortable silence as the two of you watched the sun disappear beyond the cliffs of mondstadt. the sky was turning a deep shade of purple when you told him your name, and jeonghan thought that it was quite possibly the best news he had ever received, but he kept that joy to himself as he confirmed your name, and you rolled your eyes.
"are you gonna answer my other question now?"
he scoffed. "about the eyepatch? is it really that interesting?"
"not any more interesting than my name," you retorted.
"completely untrue," jeonghan insisted. "i've never been so excited to be told a secret, and i get told a lot of secrets."
you eyed his smile warily. "my name may be unknown, but it's no secret."
he sighed and shook his head lightly. "you really wanna know the reason i wear it? it's probably not as dramatic as you're hoping."
"yet you hide it?"
he laughed. "what's wrong with a little intrigue?"
you looked away, recognizing the parrot of your own words. "whatever you say, captain."
"no!" he whined and grabbed your arm, making you start and look at him with big eyes. "you just started calling me jeonghan, don't go back to captain."
you stared at him, only breaking to laugh, dropping your legs over the edge again. "you won't show me what's under the eyepatch, so i thought we weren't on first name basis."
his hand on your bicep was warm and gentle, but his gaze was piercing as he thought it over for a bit longer. you did your best to hold it, but you felt yourself shrinking when he quietly muttered, "go on, then."
it took you a second to register what he meant, and you reached out slowly, fingers hesitating before they brushed upon his cheekbone. jeonghan closed his eyes, resigning to your touch as you gently lifted the eyepatch. his eyes opened again, slowly, and you thought your heart might have skipped a beat.
"like chocolate," you commented, and a smile spread across his lips.
"that's the kindest reaction i've gotten."
your fingers fell upon his temple, brushing down gently as you inspected his singular brown eye. "since birth?"
he nodded, his eyes flicking down to your lips briefly before he spoke. "heterochromia. it's a characteristic of my family."
you studied his face. "not the one here?"
he sighed. "not the one here."
the icy blue of jeonghan's eye had always struck something in you. it made him mysterious. commanding. it felt like he saw more than you despite having one eye covered. but now, you felt warm. you felt his gentleness. there was comfort hidden away behind that black patch, and you told him that you understood why the cavalry captain had chosen to hide the eye he did.
but to you, he was willing to show anything that would keep you around longer, he said.
"why me?" you asked, studying his expression when he looked away. the sun had retreated behind the hills, leaving the sky a deep blue.
jeonghan didn't respond right away, and you wondered if he himself even knew the answer. "we're birds of a feather, you and i."
you looked out to the view again, watching the subtle movements of the wild hills. "did you travel much before you came here?"
"it was all i knew," he told you. "i was thirteen when my father left me here."
your neck snapped, your eyes on his profile when he leaned back on his hands. "left you?"
he almost laughed, a smile on his lips when his eyes met yours. "i was slowing him down, i suppose. hyungwon's father found me and took me in."
"so you stayed?"
"i didn't always want to," he assured you. "i had the itch to leave for years. as soon as i was able, i always told myself." he paused, eyes dropping. "then father died. then hyungwon turned down his position with the knights. and i was their second choice."
you pursed your lips. "you stayed for a job."
he laughed. "it's not that simple."
you smiled at him, enjoying the warmth of his eyes on yours as the sky cooled. "are you sure we're birds of a feather?"
"listen," he said, getting off his hands and brushing them off on his thighs. "i accepted the job so that i could set the story straight. i didn't want to run from the people that believed that hyungwon tried to kill me to avenge our father."
you studied him. "i'm sorry."
"don't be," he said, nudging your shoulder. "i was still planning on leaving, but then i fell in love."
you looked away, trying to sort out the way your stomach flipped. "are they still around?"
"not with a person," he laughed, then nodded towards the now dark hills. "with the views. besides, i get free reign whenever i leave for missions. i have fun adventuring, and come home to the best sunsets in teyvat. there are worse places to call home."
your eyes scanned the horizon, remembering the brilliant rays of sun you had just seen skip across it. "that is tempting."
"how tempting?" he asked.
you thought on that for a moment. "almost as much as a death after noon right now."
jeonghan laughed, slightly proud that he had hooked you on his favorite drink. "shall we go see rubin, then?"
you hummed, smiling at the captain. "as long as i don't have to sit alone again."
"that's a promise," he told you as he stood, holding out a hand that you took without hesitation, though he withheld his intention to make sure you were never alone again.

svt in college! | alex edition
° pairing: ot13 x reader ° genre: fluff(?), what my stream of consciousness finds funny, college!au ° word count: 1034 ° warning: slightttt violence ° a/n: i know i have requests to write >< but i really needed to write smth fun :( act as a shot of of serotonin into my veins ahahaha [insert fratboy emoji] disclaimer tho - this was ENTIRELY SELF INDULGENT and very very catered to me which is why vernon’s is unnecessarily long SO IM SORRY !!! i still hope you guys think its fun :D
° masterlist!
seungcheol: a business major, minoring in international relations. has the slightest crush on you but suppresses it pretty well without you realizing because he knows you like someone else. he likes to take you on what he calls bestie dates to a nearby arcade or places to eat when you’re stressed.
jeonghan: a psych major, minoring in communications, whom you oddly spend a lot of time with because he asks for homework help every other day when you’ve only taken 1-2 psych classes in your entire life :P but he’s a good listener and subs in as therapist on the weekdays so you let him stick around.
joshua: an english major. doesn’t know why and slightly regrets it but if it means he can keep the tinie bookshelf he has in his doom to make it look like he’s smart, then that’s motivation to keep him going. you tolerate him because you guys randomly go on trips at 2am and buys you food :D
jun: a childhood education major. the friend of a friend of a friend of someone’s cousin that happen to be your friend and so you see him at parties sometimes :) actually really fun to be around when you’re not too much into the party scene and play hopscotch or bean bag toss outside the persons’ backyard.
soonyoung: the loud dance team captain that won’t give you 5 minutes of quiet time waiting for your chem professor to open the door to the lab room because he has his speakers on at max volume dancing to kelly clarkson,,,, he’s pretty chill otherwise, he’s in my math class. claims hes the eye of the tiger when he comes to class in leopard print
wonwoo: premed that’s somehow taking enough classes to graduate with a literature minor. he and cheol talk a lot because they’re in the same broadcasting club or something of the sort. you guys acknowledge each other’s presence and share a moment of tea together sometimes with cheol.
jihoon: double majoring in music composition and theory. says he absolutely hates it because he thinks the work he does is completely pointless. but then goes on to write you like 27484737 love songs within a week for a single assignment. denies to other people that you’re his best friend and that he hates your guts but you’re the only one allowed in his private studio on school days and can fiddle with his equipment sometimes :3
minghao: an art major minoring in history. eventually wants to be a gallery director so he can hold his own. you make him drag you everyone for his work when you’re bored or have free time bc he takes pictures for the school newspaper/website. you guys strike a negotiation that you drive and he buys snacks.
mingyu: you only know him for playing in your uni’s (american) football team. his tall ass is like linebacker or some shit you don’t even know his major. you had to take a kickboxing class for PE credit and you swept him to the ground and put him a choke hold. you never let him live that down everrr. you also steal his lunch money from his bag when he’s at practice.
seokmin: a musical theatre major, minoring in music composition. you guys met through jihoon. you were absolutely FLOORED when you heard him sing as the lead for the school’s spring musical. it is now tradition that you guys get crepes after every show and make jihoon pay B) he hangs out with you and jihoon a lot and randomly make music together. and ahahaha people think jihoon and seokmin are fighting over you!! >:( that’s absolutely preposterous, seokmin is too good of a soul (you say this as you help him kneed dough for the pizza you guys are making together)
seungkwan: an education major, minoring in music because he wants to teach music to little kiddos ^-^ THE BESTEST OF THE BESTIES!!! like if you’re not hanging out with jihoon/seokmin or cheol, you crash at seungkwan’s apartment and raids his kitchen when you run out of groceries ;D he keeps making fun of you for your car until you remind him that he can’t drive. on the weekends, you guys love to bake muffin, cookie, or cake recipes to prep for the daycare on mondays :3
vernon: okay actually, he doesn’t go to college SHDJSJSHS you met him on the side of the road once when you decided to walk instead of using your car (silly you!) and you saw vernon doing some cool graffiti art (IT WASN’T VANDALISM!!!). which was a total coincidence because at that point, you were ready to take a bus and wait right at the bus stop where he set up. since it was a long wait, you guys talked and he kept you company. you learn that this is actually a big project he’s been working on and is finally getting paid big bucks for something he really likes doing. you learn that he’s a great conversationalist and you miss the bus first bus ride home and have to wait another hour or so whoops! this becomes more and more of a daily thing, slowly getting to know each other. fast forward months later and it’s your birthday :D and you don’t expect anything at all because how would he know, you don’t really like your birthday anyways UNTIL vernon surprises you with a spray paint drawing of your favorite animal! and then asks you out on a date and you guys fall deeply in love
chan: a linguistics major. yeah, he doesn’t know why either, he’s just rolling with it. says he’s liking it so far, but no one really knows if he’s lying or not, including yourself. you drag chan to college events like club fairs and rallies because you’re too embarrassed to go alone and no one else wants to go LOL he begs you to drive him places during your three day weekends because he always wants to go off campus and do stuff with you and the guy pals, but he doesn’t like the freeway :/ its fine though because he pays for gas.

Truth or drink? | Jeonghan
[SUMMARY] it's been a year since you and Jeonghan broke up, and both of you were invited to participate in a truth or drink segment of cut.com.
a/n: Jeonghan is in bold, y/n is in italics. Just because I am easily confused haha. Also 1577 words is a record for me hihi and and and forgive me if there are grammatical errors.
You’re the type of person to watch countless videos when you’re bored. One of the channels that you liked was Cut, which was introduced by your roommate, Jihoon. When he first moved in, he was newly hired at Cut to be a project director of the truth or drink series. You were interested because you liked the concept they have created for the 100 years of beauty.
“So… You and Jeonghan broke up a year ago.”
“Hoonie, I don’t like where you’re going with this.”
“C’mon, it has been a year. Besides I’ve already asked him to come and he agreed. We’re just waiting for your answer.”
You groaned out of frustration. Not because it was a messy break up. Sure, it hurt. But both of you talked about it and ended it in a nice way. (Well, nicer than other couples). But what worries you are the questions. You watched enough videos to know enough which questions you could pick up, and you don’t know what to feel about it. Knowing that Jeonghan agreed, you didn’t want to overthink it.
“Fine. But pull another shit like this and you’re going to find another apartment, Lee Jihoon.”
**
Jihoon lays out the mechanics. "This is going to be quick and easy. Introduce yourselves first, then ask questions alternately. If one of you doesn't want to answer the question, you drink. Well, you can drink whenever you want to, but you have to if you don't want to answer a question. Let's start."
"Hi, I'm Jeonghan." He spoke while smiling intently at you.. It took you seconds before you could tear yourself away from him and introduce yourself. "Hi, my name is Y/n."
“So uhh, we used to date.”
“Is dating the right term for that?” He said teasingly.
“Well what would you call it?”
“We didn't just date. We lived together, for four years..”
“I know..”
He clears his throat. "I'll proceed with the first question," gets a card and reads, "Why did we break up?"
"Oh. Uh.. we broke up because we both want different things. And we talked about it, it just, I don’t know, we just didn't reach some agreement or compromise. So... Yeah."
"It has been a year. Do you still feel that way?"
"Uhh," hesitating for a moment, "yeah."
Jeonghan looks at Jihoon. "Hey man can I drink from that?" chuckles a bit. "Go ahead, man, it's a drinking game anyway."
"Am I a better lover than who you’re currently with?"
After drinking his shot, he answers, "For the record, I'm not currently with anybody. But God, yes." You didn't elaborate on that, and instead nodded at him to proceed to the next question.
"Did you ever cheat on me? and if you did, why?" Of course, you didn't. You tried it on your ex-boyfriend, the one before Jeonghan, and it devastated you to crush another person's feelings. You deeply regretted it.
“Nah, I didn't cheat on you. You know why.” You notice him getting nervous as you see him fidgeting with his fingers. You are just on the third question and he's already this nervous. "I know."
"Can you share with us the reason?" Jihoon interjects. Jeonghan looked at you, waiting for your permission, but you answered Jihoon instead. "I'm lazy and I don't like hiding things. So, if I ever did cheat and he caught me, I'm pretty sure my response would be just 'yeah okay break up with me.'" Jeonghan almost choked on his shot, very amused with your answer. You didn't lie, though. That was exactly what happened with your ex-boyfriend when he confronted you. You were too embarrassed to say anything, so you just asked him to break up with you. And Jeonghan knows that. When you first told him of that incident, he didn't know if he would pity you or be scared of you: pity you because of the mess that you were in or be scared of how much cold-hearted your reaction was when you were caught. But when you were together, he can see that you deeply regretted cheating, so he trusted you that you wouldn't do it to him.
You checked up on Jeonghan if he's okay, and he just gave you a nod while chuckling to himself. Jihoon liked that moment. Both of you have been very stiff when you arrived at the studio, and for the first time in a year, this is the most normal he has seen you two.
"How about you? Have you ever cheated on me?" You trusted Jeonghan, but there were times where he acted differently, as if hiding something from you. You asked him to confirm if your suspicions were correct. Upon waiting for his answer, you could see a playful smile slowly creeping up his face. "I- uhh," he chuckles before answering, "I wouldn't call it cheating."
You were taken aback by his answer. "Yah Yoon Jeonghan what does that even mean?" And by now Jeonghan is laughing at your reaction. You were trying to smile still, but he can see that you're getting worked up. "I have had a, uhh, pretty solid opportunities." You waited for a further explanation, so he added, "Well, I rubbed her tiddies. She asked me "do you want to rub my tiddy?" So, I did.” You laughed more than you should, with tears welling in your eyes from laughing so much. You can see him blushing red, getting embarrassed with his confession. "What the hell, Hannie."
"Hey, I missed that nickname." He looks at you with a wide smile. For a moment, both of you were just smiling at each other until Jihoon cleared his throat, "So, whose turn is it?"
"My turn. Did you get over us? If you did, how long did it take you to?" You can read Jeonghan's face clear as day, expecting you to answer the question. Unfortunately, "Well.. I'm drinking to that," you drink your shot, and you can clearly see the disappointment in him. "How about you?" Jeonghan hesitated, but eventually answered you. "Honestly? I don't know if I'm over us. You're the best thing that happened to me, y/n." He takes a shot and shakes his head. Jihoon can feel the tension coming. If that grows, he'll know on the next question.
You gave him a tight-lipped smile until you can't handle looking at him, not knowing how to respond with what he said. He took another shot. By this time, you aren't sure how many shots he had, and you worry about what would happen if he didn't stop. You reluctantly get another card. "Do you think I’ll be a good wife?"
"I do. Y/n.. I wanted you to be my wife." He shakes his head, going for another shot. "For every future situation I think of, I clearly imagine you with me. You were getting nervous; you didn't know if you're nervous for him or for the questions left unread. "Ahhh Jihoon-ah, maybe this was a bad idea." Jihoon quietly chuckles at him, "Pace yourself and calm down. Do you want some water?" But he immediately hands Jeonghan a bottled water. May be Jihoon is nervous as well.
"Ooooh. My turn, right?" He picks up a card and immediately regrets it. He didn't know if he could continue to hurt himself by playing this game with you. Nonetheless, he read the card, just enough for you to hear. "When did you know it was over?" You let out a nervous breath and took a shot before answering, "I wasn't ready with what you wanted.. and uh.. you didn't want to wait for me so-"
"Bullshit! I asked you-"
Jihoon interjected. "Wait, what are we talking about anyway? The viewers are going to be confused about that.. y/n you may take a shot if you don't want to continue answering."
"No, it's okay," you sighed, a big one at that and continued, "Jeonghan proposed to me a year ago, and uh, I asked him what he expects 4, 5 years from now if I accepted his proposal." You took another shot before continuing, "when he said he wanted kids.. I just.. I wasn't ready. It's a big responsibility you know? And I didn't want to be a mom unless I'm mentally ready for that."
"I told you I'd wait for you," You can see tears welling up in his eyes. He reached for your hand, "until you want the same thing I want. You're the only one I imagine living my life with, y/n. Can't you see that?" You harshly rubbed the tears out of your own eyes with your free hand, "I know, I know that. But at that moment it felt selfish of me to let you wait when I didn't know when I would be ready to have kids."
Unbeknownst to both of you, Jihoon had already instructed the staff to not include this clip for upload. His staff understood; this felt very personal, and he or they, would feel bad if this gets to be seen by millions of viewers. Nonetheless, he didn't interrupt the moment, and let both of you continue with the cards. Maybe, just maybe, this is that one last chance to save what both of you had.
"Do you still love me?" He asked, and a simple question at that. But both of you know, whatever your answer may be, it holds a lot of complications. You look at him through your tears and answered, "I do," your voice trembled a little bit, "I still love you, Hannie. Nothing changed."
“I love you too Y/nnie, more than you can imagine.” he replied, not letting go of your hand. “Would you go out with me again?”
Instead of giving him an answer, you took your last shot, and gave him a smile.

Boyfriend!Seungcheol Fluff
Thanks for the requests and compliments anons and @seungcheoluwu !!! Y’all are all too sweet! I really hope you guys like this one! Remember everyone, this is a series I only do by request, so if I’m missing someone you want, just request it! I already have Seungkwan and DK requested so those will be out soon!
MASTERLIST
Seungcheol | Jeonghan | Joshua | Jun | Hoshi | Wonwoo | Woozi | DK | Mingyu | Minghao | Seungkwan | Vernon | Dino
Honestly
Between being a trainee
Debuting in a kpop group
Having the responsibilities of a leader
And always being mostly concerned with keeping the other boys safe and happy
Coups doesn’t really ever think about dating
His life is just a whirlwind of responsibilities that never really seems to end
Anytime the thought crosses his mind, he just reminds himself that he doesn’t really have the time
As the leader, everything falls back on him so keeps any other distractions outside of Seventeen minimal so the other boys can always depend on him no matter when or where it is
But lately
He feels like he’s been able to breathe easier
Seventeen is successful
All the boys have grown and are so responsible and able to handle most things on their own
So Coups is slowly having some responsibilities lifted from his shoulders
And one day he realizes that the idea of dating doesn’t seem so impossible anymore
But who would he even date?
He’s pushed that idea so far out of his head that he hasn’t even considered whether he would date anyone around him
He’s embarrassed to admit it, but there’s a part of him that’s really shy about things like that so he doesn’t even know if he has it in him to go out and date
And there’s another part of him that he’s even more embarrassed of that really wants a magical love story, a spark
He just doesn’t feel like he has that with anyone near him
And then one day, he runs into you
“Oh my god, Seungcheol?”
He sighs, expecting a fan, readying himself to be bright and sociable
But he knows you
The two of you went to school together years ago
“[Y/N]?”
“Seungcheol, it is you! This is so great!”
You exclaim and then pull him into a hug
He happily returns it, feeling a familiar warmth from seeing someone from his past
“This is insane, I honestly didn’t think I was ever going to see you again!”
“Oh yeah” he looks down awkwardly. “I’ve been busy...”
“Well yeah, you’re only the leader of one of the biggest kpop groups out there!”
He knows that, of course he does
He’s worked long and hard to be S.Coups of Seventeen
But when you say it, he feels shy for some reason
“Oh yeah... I guess”
You laugh happily
“Hey, we have to catch up sometime! When are you free?”
Seungcheol rattles off his schedule for the next week
You find a free spot that you share, grab his number, and make the plans
It’s lunch at a restaurant you had never been to before
You sit awkwardly at the table you grabbed and wait anxiously for Cheol to show up
When he does run in, he stops at the entrance to look for you
When he spots you, he pauses, taking time to straighten out his clothes and brush out his hair
He clears his throat and then calls to you
You feel relief fill your veins when your eyes land on Cheol
You wave at him, a grin spread across your face
He rushes over to plop down in the seat across from you
Once you two catch up on what’s been going on, there’s a bit of a silence
He’s worried that that’s it
You two just had those few good moments and now you won’t have anything to talk about anymore
But then you bring up a story from your school days
“Remember that time, Minhyuk was rushing to get to class, but he wanted something to drink first...”
“And his hand got stuck in the vending machine???”
“Yes!”
You both laugh and bring up more memories and laugh more
It eventually opens up more conversation
And soon speech just flows easily between you two
Then Seungcheol looks down at his phone and realizes you two have been sitting there for hours
And to him that’s the sign
There’s a spark
“Hey, [Y/N], do you maybe want to get dinner sometime?”
“Are you asking me on a date Choi Seungcheol?”
“Yes, how about it?”
“I think I’d like that very much”
Dating Seungcheol is easy
He makes it easy
He’s attentive and caring and selfless and mature
He’s a cookie-cutter perfect boyfriend
You’re spoiled as hell
Cheol loves deeply and fully and that love spills out in every way imaginable
He spends even more time on his schedule so he knows he can always make time for you
He’s always affectionate and it’s always in the ways that make you feel the most safe and loved and comforted
I mean, it’s hard not to when sitting in his strong arms
And he treats you so tenderly
Hand holding always includes soft strokes of his thumb up and down your skin
Hugs are tight and long and include sweet whispers
Cuddling is always comfy
He loves random unconventional affection, like tapping his head against yours, brushing your noses together, plucking your chin
Kisses are always either sweet pecks on your nose, forehead, cheeks and lips
Or slow, deep, sensual kisses
He takes affection pretty seriously since it’s one of the ways he shows he loves you
Sometimes you wonder why he’s so good to you
Or why your relationship feels so... big
Like seriously it feels like something so incredible and beautiful
One night, Cheol is walking you home and you voice your thoughts out loud
He laughs
“Are you seriously having thoughts like that because you have a good boyfriend?”
You pout
“Seriously, Cheol, I’m just asking, why are you so good to me?”
He shrugs “Cuz I’m dating you?”
“I know that but... I don’t know”
He smiles and pulls something out of his pocket before handing it to you
“Because you’re special and you deserve it”
You look down at what he handed you and your heart stops
It’s a little paper flower
Your mind gets taken back to high school
It was an overnight school trip
Seungcheol had actually been able to come on that one, which was rare due to his schedule when he was a trainee
So everyone was excited to have him come along, the whole class celebrated for him to actually be able to come on the trip
You wanted to be excited too in order to be a good classmate
But
You’d been having a rough week
Things went wrong with friends, family, grades
So you were kind of off the whole trip
You can’t even sleep
So you get up in the middle of the night and sneak out and walk around outside
It’s really pretty
There’s a forest and a river
The stars are clear
You sit on the bank of the river and watch the stars sparkle in the reflection of the water
You jump when you hear someone walking behind you
“Hello? Is someone there?”
You can hear your voice shaking, and you feel dumb
“Relax, [Y/N], it’s just me!” Cheol’s bright voice sounds out from the darkness behind you
“Oh, hi Seungcheol, what are you doing out here?”
“I just went to use the bathroom. What about you? Why are you out here?”
“Couldn’t sleep”
You shrug and turn back to the river, embarrassed at the feeling of tears filling your eyes
Cheol’s shoulder brushes against yours as he sits next to you
“Wow, the view of this river is something else, can’t get this back home”
You shake your head to try and disguise your gesture of wiping tears off your face with your sweatshirt sleeves
There’s a moment of silence
“You don’t have to be embarrassed of crying, [Y/N]”
You freeze at his words
“Sorry if I’m making you uncomfortable, it’s just that... you’re not very good at hiding it”
You laugh a little despite the fact that tears are now pouring out of your eyes
“You wanna talk about it?”
“I don’t wanna burden you Seungcheol”
“It won’t be a burden, [Y/N], I promise”
So you let it all out
You tell him everything that was bothering you
And he listens silently as he folds a piece of paper
Once you’re done talking, he lets you cry it out
“I’m not really good at the whole advice thing sometimes, I’m not sure what to say to help you best”
He grabs your hands and and places the paper in them
“But I will tell you this: I know you’re a strong person and even if you feel like you can’t take it, you can lean on me for help!”
“When did you learn to do this Seungcheol?”
You stare at the paper he’s folded into a flower
“Oh I can’t remember, I just do it sometimes”
You look up at him
He laughs a little at your expression and leans forward to wipe the rest of your tears off your face
“Why are you doing this, Seungcheol?”
“Doing what?”
“Being so... nice to me. We’re not really friends... I mean, it’s just... we’ve never been super close”
Cheol grins at you
“Because you’re special and you deserve it”
When your mind comes back to the present
You look up to see that Cheol has walked a few paces ahead of you
“You kept this from all the way back in high school? I thought I had lost it”
“You did,” Cheol laughs. “You dropped it on the trail back to the cabins, I snatched it up afterwards”
You stare at the flower, admiring how it’s held its shape all these years
You feel tears start to well up in your eyes
You quickly deflect by making a joke
“So Choi Seungcheol has been harboring a huge crush on an old classmate this whole time”
He shakes his head and grins at you, grabbing your hand to continue your walk
After that, Cheol is your whole world
You feel childish but you believe y’all were fated to be together
You put in the effort to spoil him as much as he does for you
You know he has a lot of pressure with being a leader
So you become a safe haven for him to rant out his problems
And you always do little stress relievers for him: back rubs, spa nights, tv binges with tons of junk food
You buy him little accessories and in-ears for him to use on stage
Sometimes you cook dinner for the boys so they don’t have to worry about it
The other members fawn over you constantly
You and Cheol develop this ridiculous sense of humor that only the two of you get
You’re just a couple of nerds together
Whenever you’re at events together, he always has his arm around you
When you attend their concerts, he always greets you by running up, wrapping his arms around your waist, spinning you around and pecking your lips
Like I said, your relationship is easy
The two of you just click well
It’s a long time in the making but it’s a beautiful romance that is so worth it

Since it's a "kiss day" in Korea could you please write a fluff of jeonghan asking a kiss from you
june 14th
pairing: dad!jeonghan x mum!reader word count: 1.7k warnings: swearing, a little bit of marking, suggestive material music: ‘stay gold’ by bts a/n: THERE’S A MINI JEONGHAN IN THIS i’m sobbing i don’t know how how i came up with it but meet yoon jooyoung, jeonghan’s kid.
“mum! i’m going to be late!”
you groaned at your son’s voice. you loved him to bits but sometimes things could get a little rough on your end.
“yes i know, i’m sorry,” you told your seven-year-old son, jooyoung, who wobbled out of his bedroom with his bright yellow backpack already slung around his little shoulders.
“my friends are going to be mad at me,” his pink lips formed a pout, closely resembling that of his father. “i’m gonna go now,” he vanished past your front door.
“wait for me!” you quickly threw on a coat and grabbed your phone before the little man could dash out of the apartment alone.
you bumped into your neighbour in the hallway—you believed his name was hoseok—a kind man about your age and found that your son had his tiny fingers clasped onto his hand. it seemed hoseok didn’t seem to mind, a lively smile stretched across his face from the boy’s sudden gesture.
“ah, i’m so sorry,” you murmured to the man and quickly tried to pry your son away, but he grumbled and almost threw a fit. you staggered backwards, taken aback.
“this guy told me he’s going for a sleepover at his buddy‘s house nearby,” your neighbour looked down at your son, an endearing look on his face. “i can take him there, if you don’t mind. i’m about to head to the grocery store anyways.”
“mum’s always busy,” the pout remained on his face, sulky personality inherited right from his father like a copy-and-pasted text except it was his array of genes.
you sighed. “i’m not busy today, i can take you. no need to trouble ahjusshi.”
“but mum,” jooyoung whined, throwing his hands up and bottom lip trembling.
“what is it?” you crouched downwards so you were in level with him. you took his free hand in yours, wrapping your fingers around his small ones.
to your huge surprise, he leaned in and pressed the biggest, sloppiest kiss on your cheek.
“happy kiss day, mum.”
at this point he was a direct clone of his father. the fact that even his cheeky grin looked like your husband made you melt into a puddle on the concrete floor.
he giggled. “hang out with dad when he comes back, mum. you’re always at the work and you never hang out with him when he’s here anymore,” he then pulled you in closer so he could whisper, “give dad a kiss today.”
at that you turned bright red, heat crawling up your neck. your son had just indirectly told you that you did not show enough affection to his dad—your husband—and it left you a lot of questions.
mind you, he was only seven.
in addition to that, your neighbour had just witnessed this entire notion.
“did i just hear the word ‘kiss day’?” a familiar voice questioned from behind you.
it was all too familiar to the point that you felt relieved, sometimes longing, upon hearing it.
“dad!”
you rose up from your crouching position, watching jooyoung unwrap his hand from hoseok’s to run into his father’s arms.
jeonghan let out a laugh, only filled with warmth and joy from seeing his son after a month of being away, as he lifted jooyoung off the ground and cradled his son in his arms.
“hey, son,” jeonghan’s dark hair swept across his brow as he looked at his son, eyes sparkling as he did.
“i missed you,” the boy gave his father a tight hug.
“i know, i did too. more than you know.”
for once, you were third-wheeling jeonghan and jooyoung. hoseok was too. but he remained unbothered, face like a blooming sunflower as he witnessed a father and son reunion.
“where are you going, buddy?” jeonghan eyed the boy’s backpack as he finally let him down
“sleepover,” he grinned. “at my friend’s house.”
“which friend?”
“i’m not telling you,” like a typical seven-year-old, jooyoung snickered.
finally, your husband looked at you. however, it was not in the form of greeting. it was rather in the form of confirmation that your son would be okay in this arrangement of a sort.
you nodded, jerking your chin at hoseok, silently telling jeonghan he’s going to be the one taking him there.
“why aren’t you the one taking him?”
“because—“
“it’s a secret!” your son yelled and tugged on his dad’s sleeve.
getting the signal jeonghan bent sideways so jooyoung could whisper in his ear just like he did with you.
it was almost comical, the way a grown man’s expression could change because of a few words a little boy had whispered into his ear. jeonghan was now smiling ear-to-ear, the signature scrunch of his nose prominent, pretty eyes now fixated on you instead.
“okay.”
“yay!” jooyoung scuffled back to hoseok, but before that he gave you a hug, as big as a seven-year-old could give. “see you later, mum.”
“ready to go?” the kind man asked him.
“yup,” he took hoseok’s hand and they disappeared into the corner where the elevators were.
that left you alone with jeonghan. you two remained standing six feet apart from each other, suddenly feeling nervous as if it was your first date.
he smiled at you, at your flustered state.
“hi.”
it was all jeonghan needed to say to have you falling into his arms the way your son did earlier.
“fuck, i missed you,” he buried his nose in your hair as you threw your arms around his neck.
“i can say the same,” you murmured, drowning in the musky scent of his cologne, a deeply personal scent you’ve gotten used to and a part of jeonghan you missed dearly whenever he was away.
”let’s head inside, shall we?” jeonghan said, minty breath brushing against your ear.
you hummed in agreement, heading over to unlock your front door and hold it open so jeonghan could drag his suitcase in.
“thanks,” he pushed it to the side and let the door fall shut behind him.
his eyes were still designated on you, the expression behind them expecting as he watched you take off your coat and hang it beside the door.
golden sunlight, warm and buttery, slipped through the blinds of your apartment. it highlighted the refreshed glow from within his skin. whether it was from happiness or an updated skin care routine, you didn’t know but he looked better than ever.
“are you hungry?” you swerved his gaze, wanting to know how long you could draw this out. there was a game you wanted to play, and jeonghan knew it extremely well.
your feet padded into the kitchen before you could stop them, increasing the distance between you and your husband.
jeonghan shook his head in response, leaning his hip against the kitchen island to watch you grab both him and yourself a glass of water. he rolled the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows, exposing the stretch of muscles on his forearms.
tension was very well present in the air and you both were aware of it. regardless of that you two chose to ignore it.
“how was tour?” you asked, setting the glass down in front of him.
“it was fine,” vague. like the answers he would give you whenever you didn’t give him something he desperately wanted.
you chuckled. “jooyoung is exactly like you.”
“what do you mean?” the smirk that quirked by his lips showed that he knew exactly what you meant.
“you give me unsatisfactory answers when i don’t give you what you want.”
you round the kitchen island, toward him. you circled your arms around his neck once again, clasping your hands together. his invigorating smile mirrored yours, his hands reflexively shifting to support the small of your back. you tipped your head up to meet his eyes.
“so tell me, yoon jeonghan, what is it can i do for you?”
“kiss me,” he mumbled after a moment. “you heard our son, it’s the national kiss day today and—”
you cut him off with your lips, his words muffled by them. a grunt left his lips from the impact, jolts of electricity running up his spine. he spun you around without breaking the kiss pressing your lower back against the hard edge of the island. jeonghan braced his hands on the hard surface of it and trapped you with his body.
“do you know what jooyoung told me?” you told him once he pulled away for air.
“what?” he grinned at the sound of your son’s name from your lips.
“he said i should hang out with you today,” you recalled the words your little boy whispered into your ear. “and told me to give you a kiss.”
“you don’t do that enough,” jeonghan teased and kissed the tip of your nose.
“which?”
“both,” gently, he moved down to kiss the corner of your mouth.
“i don’t kiss you enough?” you raised a sceptical eyebrow along with the corner of your lip.
“twelve years and i’ll still never have enough of it,” his mouth tackled yours once again.
it didn’t take him a second for the curvature of his lips to mould into yours. the shape of yours was imprinted onto it, a muscle memory claimed by you and you only.
the air around you grew warmer, his breath now becoming yours with each kiss. one arm around your waist and the other under your jaw, he held you close to him.
his tongue, like the tease that he was, swiped across your bottom lip. with one arm he hoisted you up onto the kitchen island so he could stand in between your legs. his hand reached behind to cup your ass and you gasped into his mouth.
“hannie, what are you doing?” you held him back with hands on his shoulders.
“kissing you,” he shrugged like it was nothing. “what else?”
“liar.”
“i can’t kiss with tongue now?” he’s pouting and god did he look like jooyoung.
“you can,” you pecked him once, twice. “i just forgot that we’ve got no one watching us now.”
“it’s daddy’s day off,” he tilted his head to your neck, beginning to suck marks of purple and red on your skin. his fingers toyed with the hem of your shorts. “it’s time to make you feel good.”
you arched into him, digits tugging on his hair to lure out a low, desperate growl from his lips. wetness pooled in your panties from the sound alone, and you wondered how you were going to be able to handle the rest of him.
“shall we make jooyoung another sibling?”

Skinny dipping | YJH
Genre: fluff, a bit suggestive and mature
Warnings: being naked
Word count: 2957
Pairing: Slytherin!Yoon Jeonghan x reader (Hogwarts AU)
Note: Last night I heard Katy Perry’s ‘Last Friday night’ and suddenly had the idea to do a skinny dipping imagine with Jeonghan in Hogwarts. I’m a huge simp for Hogwarts rn so don’t mind me haha
“By all means wait up Jeonghan!” You whisper shouted to the boy walking a few feet in front of you. You heard his familiar amused giggle and saw him turn around to allow you to catch up with his pace. The corridors of Hogwarts this late at night were filled with darkness, not a single sound could be heard besides your fast footsteps. It was a stark contrast to the busy crowd at daytime.
“What? Are you afraid we might get caught? You can still go back.” The witty Slytherin joked, not even caring to hide his mocking smile. You scoffed finally reaching his side and linking your arms together so that he wouldn’t be able to walk faster than you. “Pff noo...it’s just a bit dangerous alone at night. We could have at least gone in the afternoon rather than 1 am...” you said while avoiding his eyes.
He chuckled tugging you to the left into an even darker corridor. The only source of light being his wand. “That’s definitely no fun sweetheart. I know you like it. You don’t have to lie to me. And it’s not dangerous when you go with me.” Looking up at his face, you nearly choked about how close you were.
Things with this Slytherin boy were just confusing. One time he is ignoring you in class, the next time he bangs on your dorm room just to cuddle him. He is a real mystery to you but what could you do? His charms were irresistible. You noticed that right from the beginning.
But he was right. On the surface you were scared. A scaredy cat. But deep down, you wanted to experience and enjoy the drill of being together with Jeonghan even in the weirdest situations. He made you do things you never thought you would do.
“Are you cold?” He asked sweetly as you still haven’t answered to his previous reassurment. There were times you could absolutely despise Jeonghan for being such a jerk. But there were also times like this, where you swear your heart will leap out, out of adoration for this special boy. When he could be aggressive and over confident, he could also be gentle.
You nodded your head, squeezing Jeonghans arm a tad harder. His hands sneaked down to your hands, slowly intertwining your fingers with each other. Heat rushed to your cheeks, hoping he wouldn’t notice.
“Look there’s the back exit. If we run to the lake, you won’t feel cold anymore.” He whispered softly, making your brain feel dull. His sweet scent fogging your mind totally. As on cue you nodded whispering a small ‘okay’ back. And before you could do anything else, your hand got dragged and the wind flattered through your hair. Being with Jeonghan definitely was exciting.
And being with him definitely shut off the responsible part of your brain. And was it really bad that you loved it? The adrenaline, the risk of being caught and the rush of serotonin. It was nearly addicting. So in the end it was an impossible task to stay away from the said Slytherin despite all the warnings from your friends. And you did not regret a thing.
Heavily breathing, with Jeonghans hand still clasping yours tightly, you both came to a halt when you saw the Black lake stretching out in front of you. It looked just as dark and mysterious as the name told. It seemed nearly intimidating and dangerous.
Your eyes wandered towards Jeonghan. You watched his chest rise and fall from his heavy breathing and his silky blonde hair softly falling onto his forehead. His cheeks had a faint tint of pink because of the cold, from what you could see in the dim light.
He was truly breathtaking.
You swore in that moment, you had never seen anyone nearly as ethereal as him. You could look at him for hours.
His eyes met yours in a silent moment, absolute quietness embracing the two of you. His lips curled up into one of his most genuine smiles. If you were still cold after the running, now you definitely felt burning hot in every fiber of your body. His eyes told you how he truly felt. In moments like this you came to realize that his teasing nature really just was a mask after all. He genuinely cared. You knew that. So you smiled softly back at him. Letting him silently know the same.
Unconsciously you leaned even closer to him, just needing his close proximity at this moment. You were so ready to give it all for Jeonghan. You would have done anything if he just asked you. You only and only cared about him right now.
While his hand never left yours, his other hand wandered to your cheek. His long fingers gently stroking over it making your heart race even faster. Everything inside of you screamed for him. Your thoughts were all over the place but every single one was about him.
“Let’s go skinny dipping...” he whispered with sparkles in his big brown eyes looking down at you. Your heart sank for a second. “S-skinny...dipping? You mean... naked?” Your breath hitched at thinking about seeing naked Jeonghan. Even just a tiny glimpse at his toned chest would make you want to faint right on the spot.
His genuine smile now was mixed with his usual playful smirk. His thumb momentarily ran over your bottom lip, not being able to say anything. He let out a little giggle.
“That’s what skinny dipping means, love. Are you scared or...?” he grinned, two rows of perfect straight white teeth peeking from behind his lips. You shook your head immediately, not knowing how he could persuade you that easily.
“What about the giant squid? And i bet the water is freezing. I...” he cut you off with a giggle again. “Just trust me, you can do that right? I will protect you with my life. Always. There’s nothing scary about taking a secret swim with me at night.” His voice was like honey, melting everything inside of you. He was intoxicatedly sweet to you and you couldn’t get enough of this side of Jeonghan.
Your head moved as if by magic, letting him smile even wider. “There you go.” He let out a small laugh before letting go off your hand and face, leaving you with a cold feeling.
His tender fingers moved quickly to his shirt after slipping off his shoes and socks, slowly unbuttoning one button after another. More and more skin getting revealed by each passing second. Your eyes unconsciously followed his every movement letting him chuckle. “I knew you would love this idea Y/N...” he indirectly teased you, making you immediately look away, left speechless.
“You do this just to tease me, aren’t you? There aren’t many attractive boys lining up to undress themselves in front of me.” You murmured, suddenly finding the tree besides the lake far more interesting than Jeonghans bare chest. His small giggles trying to enchant you once again as you saw him toss his white shirt next to him in the grass from the corner of your eyes.
“Well I’m actually quite glad about that. Wouldn’t anyone else voluntarily undress in front of you besides me.” He murmured deeply, stepping a bit closer to you. Your breath hitched again as your eyes accidentally crossed his upper body. “Should I tell you something?” He started unbuttoning his black pants. You nodded, eyes fixated on the ground.
“You are the first and only person I would ever do that.” Your eyes looked up into his dark brown again. You could see he meant it. A small smile replaced the nervous chewing on your lips. “I feel honored...” you managed to joke as he stepped out of his pants, leaving him standing in front of you in just a pair of black boxers.
“Oh you should. Now hurry and undress.” He smirked before his fingers grazed down to the elastic of his boxers. That was your cue to immediately turn away to look towards the castle instead. Jeonghan laughed loudly. “You are so cute Y/N...”
He threw his boxers on purpose right in front of your feet. You have never had a heart rate that fast in your entire life. Blood rushing into your ears, all you could hear was your irregular fast heartbeat. This boy knew what he was doing.
“Don’t be shy, darling... I’m gonna wait in the water. I’m not gonna look I promise.” He chuckled, hearing his voice slowly getting quieter as he walked towards the water. You let out a shaky sight not sure what to do. You definitely did think about either running away or just straight up making out with this boy. But seeing both options won’t help you, you began unbuttoning your blouse.
Jeonghan left his wand in the grass, the Lumus spell he casted before, slowly fading away, letting darkness take over. Before you tossed your shirt away though, you couldn’t resist taking a quick peek behind you, checking on the Slytherin. This happened to be a huge mistake as you took notice of his completely naked backside, consisting of a very very cute butt. You accidentally choked on air as you saw him turn his head slightly around to lock eyes with you.
Even in the near darkness you could swear making out a smirk. Quickly you turned around acting as if nothing had happened fiddling with the zipper of your skirt. “I know you looked Y/N.” He snickered, clearly teasing you again.
“No I didn’t. You have no proof. Also...you did look as well. So quit playing cool Jeonghan.” He laughed in the distance, hearing water softly splashing. “No I didn’t. You have no proof.” He mocked you with a playful tone. Rolling your eyes and assuming Jeonghan wouldn’t look again.
After you pulled your skirt off and slipped off your shoes and socks, your hands hesitantly unclasped your bra. With a deep breath you told yourself not to be such a scaredy-cat. It was just Jeonghan. Jeonghan, yes. The light cold breeze around night time let goosebumps appear on your whole body. Never would you ever have imagined yourself undressing in the middle of the night outside with Jeonghan. But life wasn’t the most predictable, wasn’t it?
At this point there was nearly no light around you at all. Only the faint glimmer of Jeonghans wand and the dim light of the moon letting you know in which direction the lake was. With a last reassuring nod towards yourself, you slipped off your underwear, now being completely exposed.
“Do not look Jeonghan, I’ll warn you.” You threatened the older boy with slightly shaking voice. “I won’t... the water is a bit cold but it’s very refreshing.” He assured you without a mocking tone this time, surprising you. Little did you know the boy had already broken his promise the second you warned him. It nearly took his breath away, seeing you standing purely naked in the faint moonlight. Your dark shillouette being enough for him to feel utterly and completely lost in his deep feelings towards you. He wouldn’t admit it sometimes but you were the most beautiful human being he had ever seen. The way you looked at him through your long lashes, immediately making him even crazier for you. He fell that deep for you, it was impossible for him not to touch you or be close to you all the time.
He loved how open and carefree he could be around you. He didn’t fear about his stupid reputation around you. All he cared for was your well-being. You indeed make him a better version of himself.
As you turned around, you carefully followed his voice, not exactly seeing Jeonghan in the dark. Only if you squint your eyes, you could faintly make out his dark outlines.
The water around your ankles was freezing cold and immediately made your brain clearer than ever, all tiredness from before gone like thin air.
“Where are you? I can’t see...” you whispered while clasping your teeth to avoid stuttering because of the cold. “I’m here, sweetie. Just a few more meters.” His intoxicating voice kept dragging you deeper into the water. You would follow him everywhere. Now you really understood all of the characters in movies from all these bad romantic movies. It was exactly this deep feeling you couldn’t resist but wanting to feel more.
You stretched your hands out in order to find Jeonghan. You definitely didn’t like being alone in this strange water. Just touching Jeonghans hand would reassure you a lot. You actually didn’t care anymore that you were naked in front of your crush, you just wanted to be by his side.
“Jeonghan?” You whispered still unsure where he was. Suddenly you felt a hand around your hip, letting goosebumps and a shudder down your back appear on your skin. “Here...” he mumbled with airy voice as he stood in front of you. His body warmth making you feel warmer in an instant. Not only that, but your racing heart and the adrenaline in your blood made it easy for you to not feel as cold as before anymore.
“I got you...” his voice was so tender, everything inside you screamed for him. You moved into his touch, letting your hands wander from his hands upwards towards to his shoulders. After a moment of just enjoying each other’s company, feeling nothing but a bliss of excitement and pure joy, you felt yourself moving even closer to him. Your chest already touching his, swearing his breath hitched for a second. Fingers slowly wandering behind his neck, gently playing with his silky hair at the back of his head. The smell of his fresh shampoo and expensive cologne fogging your mind slowly. Gosh you were just crazy for that Slytherin boy.
“You are so gorgeous Y/N...I can’t ever get enough of you.” He quietly confessed, feeling hot air against your neck. His lips gently grazed up your neck, slowly pressing a row of gentle kisses on the skin between your jaw and neck. Letting out a content sight, your hands dogged deeper into his fluffy hair as you pressed your bodies even closer together. Your legs courageously wrapping around his hips and waist. One of his hands wandering over your legs upwards.
“Jeonghan...” you sighed slipping your hands from his hair around his god shaped face, faintly seeing the sparkle in his eyes. Jeonghan on the other hand hadn’t heard anything more beautiful or stunning in his entire life than his name falling from your lips.
“I...I think...no I know, that... t-that I love you so much. I am completely crazy for you...just for you.” it was now your turn to confess your love to him and their was no going back. It was the pure truth. He grinned widely letting out a happy laugh, closing his eyes for a second. The moonlight hit him just in the right places.
“Me too Y/N...me too. God I love you so much.” He caressed your cheeks with his hands, letting you smile just as big as him. Serotonin just kept rushing through your veins, unable to stop smiling. Your brain couldn’t believe what you just heard. Your love was never pointless. You felt so loved.
Without hesitating any more, he pulled your faces together and gracefully layed his lips onto yours, moving together in harmony. Your whole world erupted in colors and emotions. You couldn’t quite grasp the feeling you felt during that moment but it was freeing for your soul and heart. It felt like a huge weight being taken from your shoulders and replacing it with love, love and love again.
Yoon Jeonghan loved you. He kissed you. He held you close. He protected you. It was like you even forgot you still were in the freezing water, being sure you both would catch a cold after this night.
His lips slowly pulled back from yours just to peck them again and again. Both of your giggles filling the quiet night air. None of you being able to pull away, let alone stop touching each other.
“J-Jeonghan...we...we need to stop...” you tried to tell him in between your giggles and kisses, slightly squirming under his touch. Said boy nuzzled his head into the crook of your neck, covering the place with all sorts of kisses. “Why...gosh baby you smell so... good...” he breathed heavily as he began nibbling and sucking on one spot on your neck. You immediately let out a soft moan, exciting Jeonghan even more.
“N-no...we...we are still in...the lake. We will get a cold Hanie...” you kept mentioning, letting out a tad louder moan after him finding a new place for a second hickey. Pressing you even closer after hearing the nickname you have given him, he was unable to stop smiling against your neck.
I absolutely...would love to keep doing that... but you have a point. I don’t want you to get sick.” He let go off your neck, pressing a kiss to one of your cheeks and after that on your lips. “You have no idea what you are doing to me...” he laughed before carrying you both out of the water, suddenly freezing after a cold breeze blew over your wet bodies. Your bodies were covered in goosebumps again.
You both didn’t care what you wore at this moment, you just quickly grabbed anything you could find in the dark, rushing hand in hand back towards the castle, finding a new place to share your new found love.

The night was a swirling mixture of crisp air and the sharpness that came with living in the city; the residue of the day's smog coating the sky to the point the stars were blocked of their life and you were left with a fuzz of light on the horizon; buildings too far away to think about casting their lights onto the blank polluted canvas but regardless, he found himself standing there, shadowed by the darkness and the distance, watching the scene in front of him unfold. The scene of a tragic love story, the story of an ill-matched pair trying to survive in the grasp of the times.
“If you want to get him shouldn’t you do it now?” One of his men behind him probed, watching his breath curl in the air next to his head, “I mean he’s right there…” And he was right, Sehun was right there, in the sleek car that was highly out of place with its surroundings.
“Where is the fun in that?” The silver-haired man asked amused, the soft wind fluttering his bangs across his forehead; he probably looked like an angel in the night to the right person but right now, he was only shrouded by the darkness, “All the cards aren’t in my hands yet,” He hummed.
“But boss…” The man in question merely raised his hand shushing his counterpart, their eyes watching the girl exit the car; eyes intently staring at the vehicle that began is descent from her.
“Speak when spoken to.” The silver-haired man snapped softly, passing a look over his shoulder to his comrade, “And remember your place.”
His eyes were intense like he was trying to rip you apart with his pupils, a small part of him smirked as he watched your feeble form stumble further into the empty parking lot; walking closer to him like you were drawn to whatever was lurking. It was like watching a deer in a headlight he mused to himself as your eyes flickered around the area, your eyes meeting his in the darkness for a second unknowingly.
“Hello…” Your voice softly fluttered through the empty lot, “Is anyone there?” He could feel a smirk crawl upon his mouth; his teeth making their appearance as he watched you jump at the ring of your phone screeching into the empty lot with you, filling the space he could have used to answer your call.
“O, little dove, I’m right here…”
“Don’t worry Yoora, I’ll be okay…”
A confused grunt passed your lips as Chanyeol’s full weight collapsed onto you, your body struggling to hold the man up from slipping off the counter as you smacked his arm. The fluttering of his breath hitting your neck and the situation causing shivers to slither down your spine. You had no time to think about whoever he was talking about at that moment, your heart clenching slightly as you tried to talk to the man.
“Chanyeol,” You snapped, eyebrows furrow as you heard no response from the man, “For god’s sake, Chanyeol!” You snapped louder, your voice cracking with the intensity of your words.
Silence.
“No no no no…” You panicked slightly before using your full strength to heave him back against the mirror at sat on the wall behind him; his body slamming against it with a dull thud. “Chanyeol come on…” Your voice cracked again, your hand vibrating softly as that reached for his neck, your other hand smacking his cheek slightly.
He looked abysmal, his normally soft tanned skin had blanched itself out into a sickly grey that was stained with the deep red of his blood and littered with already purpling bruises; his breathing shallow and the stab wound on his stomach trickling out said blood steadily. He looked completely worse for wear, and you felt the depth of the situation settle into your bones as your fingers connected with his neck, the slow thud of his pulse quivering against your fingers.
“What the fuck do I do.” You spoke to yourself, pressing the rag from before onto his stomach to try and clot his wound; your stomach turning slightly at the blood staining your hands. “Chanyeol.” You used your free hand to shake him again, in a last-ditch effort that he might respond.
“Fuck…” You breathed at his unyielding silence, your free hand dropping onto the counter to try and steady yourself as your put your best pressure wound; his pockets looked empty so your chance of being able to call one of his brothers was slim to none.
Looking at his face, your remembered Chanyeol’s past haste at being introduced to someone he didn’t know; the vision of him speeding out of your apartment last time filing your head, but as he bled out on your counter you found no choice in the matter, your free hand already fumbling to get your phone before shakily clicking onto your contacts; the tinny ring thrumming in your ear not too long after.
“Come on…” You whispered into the receiver, “Please pick up…” You begged to no one.
“Hello…” The person on the other end started but you quickly cut them off.
“Jeonghan!” You cried softly, your voice crackling with emotion, “Please tell me you’re not working.” You begged softly.
“No, I’m not working,” He sounded concerned, immediately jumping into that tone he used to use with you all the time, “Why is everything okay?” He added quickly, the sound of his mouth pulling down nearly hearable in the receiver.
“Listen Hannie…” Your voice was shaky as you breathed deeply looking at Chanyeol, “I need you to my place immediately, bring your medkit, and tell no one you’re coming” You whispered like someone who might be listening in could hear you.
“What’s going on? Are you alright?” He stuttered softly but you quickly cut him off again.
“Jeonghan, please.” You snapped at the man, your temper wearing thin, “Just do it.”
“Okay,” He shushed you softly in his usual tone of voice; trying to calm you down, “I’ll be there as soon as I can, okay?” You felt tears splinter your eyes at his words, you nose sniffling slightly.
“Please just hurry…”
With an aching body and a pounding headache, Baekhyun found himself stumbling through the dense heat of an old building, flames licking the walls as his jacket covered his mouth to filter some smoke out; the heaving of his lungs telling him that this was a mission gone wrong. At first, it seemed like a simple recon mission, a small tip-off that Jongin had got earlier in the week about a potential lead in their current predicament; a quick job like they were used to. But to Baekhyun and Chanyeol, the desolate old building held nothing more than empty rooms and dust, or so it seemed, about an hour into the search it all went wrong. Baekhyun was trying to catch his bearings, the smoke flowing through his airwaves and causing a haziness to blur out his vision.
They had agreed to split up the building’s 8 floors, Baekhyun top four and Chanyeol bottom four; the objective was to see what was lurking around and recon back in the foyer before they checked the basement, due to the ominous nature to Jongin’s tip-off they weren’t exactly sure what they were looking for but remembers Jongin’s words had another fire burning with Baekhyun, beside the one he was already in.
“What the…” Baekhyun frowned slightly, while pushing open one of the ajar doors on the 6th floor, there as the briefest once of light filtering through the bottom of the old wood, the only sign so far that someone other than himself and Chanyeol was here.
The room was a ruin of what was probably once a nice apartment, the dense smell of mildew and rot in the air as Baekhyun took in the scenery; tattered furniture littered the room, the last tenants clearly in a rush to leave. It wasn’t much, an old couch in the centre of the decaying floor and an old dining table tucked in the corner; but what interested him was the blinking red light fluttering from under the couch, a small pain in his chest at what it could be. Baekhyun was still stationed at the door with a frown etched on his face when he decided to crouch on one knee to try to get a better look at what he was looking at, but when the light was just out of eye-line, Baekhyun decided to walk further into the apartment.
His gun was warm in his hand and tucked slightly down to allow him room to use his flashlight as he moved further into the apartment, his boots disrupting the dust that sheeted itself on the floor with each clicking step; he had to admit the place was unnerving, deathly silence coated every inch of the place and the idea of checking out the light wasn’t helping either.
Squaring his shoulder slightly, Baekhyun’s fluttered around the main room of the apartment one last time before he began to crouch again; the gentle thud of him placing down his flashlight on the ground filling his ears and one of his hands braced him to further lower himself down. The dust was a weird texture under his slightly clammy palms, his nose turning up already at the sticking sensation, but he shook himself out of it, opting to angle the flashlight on the floor under the couch instead.
It was still a bit hard to see under the couch but with a squint of his eyes, Baekhyun managed to see what was causing the soft red light; he eyes narrowing into slits before the dilated in size in shock.
The soft red light? Was the countdown on a small explosive, one which only had 3:40 left on the clock.
“Fuck.” Baekhyun swore loudly, pushing himself up quickly to get his phone out his pocket but he froze again when something thudded at the back of his head.
“Stay down.” A warped voice filled Baekhyun’s ears, the cold barrel of a gun pressing into his head, keeping him down. “Or I’ll shoot.” Baekhyun’s teeth ground together; he didn’t have time for this.
“Why don’t you face me then,” Baekhyun ground out, “We can settle this like adults.”
“Stay down.” The voice reiterated.
“Who are you.” Baekhyun tensed out.
“I think you know, don’t you Mr Byun?” Baekhyun frowned at that, the warped voice sounding like it was smirking, “Or can I call you Baekhyun.”
“I’ll ask you again.” Baekhyun spat softly, “Why don’t you face me.” The voice scoffed.
“Because I don’t have a death wish,” They answered.
“I think you do,” Baekhyun tutted softly, his grip tightening on his gun.
Baekhyun didn’t give the voice time to respond before he spun around, avoiding the gun pressed to his head and shoving the assailants hand up to the air; the boom of his shot going off, embedding itself in the ceiling. If felt like there wasn’t even time to take a breath in to react before Baekhyun was standing again; the sole of his boot planting in the stomach of what he could now see was a masked figure – watching them tumble to the ground winded.
He never stopped to survey the room as the beeping from the couch got louder – his hand instantly working to fire his shot off at another man he’d barely seen who was poised at the other end of the room. That didn’t stop anyone though, while the second man was recovering from the shot to his shoulder, the first one who was on the floor jumped up; barrelling towards Baekhyun at an impressive speed. Baekhyun had just enough time to dodge before a punch tumbled into his face; one of his arms coming up in defence to try to knock the man back quickly. The one he shot in the shoulder didn’t stay down too long either and before he knew it, he was fending off a barrage of attacks; the black blurs of their clothing moving with him.
They were sloppy fighters, but they did manage to land a few hits on Baekhyun; the butt of one of their gun’s slamming into his cheek painfully – normally Baekhyun would shoot them down but the way they were piling on him left his trigger hand unavailable to shoot; he spent most of the time deflecting their attacks. When he saw the glint of a blade, that’s when Baekhyun decided enough was enough – the explosive wasn’t going to hold off for him to finish up.
With a yell, Baekhyun managed to get the two men a far distance from him; getting a proper look at them while he did. They both wore black masks on the bottom halves of their face, a small decide attached that was modulating their voices, and what looked like a sheer scarf covering their eyes; this was a planned attack.
Baekhyun, as always, felt no remorse as he pulled his trigger; a violent hum pumping through his veins as he watched the head of the first man ricochet back with a sickening crack, splattering his partner with his brain matter in the process. The second shot was as swiftly as the first, no sarcastic remarks on Baekhyun’s end, just sheer violence as a small grin crept up his face at his carnage. There were no thoughts in Baekhyun’s head, other than a small sense of satisfaction over the killing of those two lackeys.
He couldn’t even find it in himself to ponder over the blood on his hands again, something most of his brothers did after the deed; the beeping in the room increasing with each breath. Taking off into a sprint, Baekhyun only managed to make it past the threshold before a circle of hell decided to open itself up in the place; his body getting flung like a rag doll into the wall opposite the door and with a disgusting thud - Baekhyun it the wall.
The ringing in his ears didn’t privy him to not hearing the 7 other bang’s that resonated throughout the old building, but the aching of his body and the pounding of his head stopped his instinctual movement. He laid on a heap on the floor, the minutes feeling like hours and before he knew it the building around him was up in flames, only the brief mention of his partner's name gracing his lips and he tried to find himself again.
“Maybe we should have listened,” Baekhyun grunted softly to himself while stumbling down one of the higher floors of the building, everything was a mess; most of the floor was missing as it was and the constant fire that kissed the walls and his skin with the sheer heat of it all didn’t exactly help the situation, he needed to find Chanyeol and get out; fast.
It was an old apartment building tucked away near the docks, empty and unused since the inside had rotted beyond repair and teeming with hidden life. If Chanyeol and Baekhyun had been easy to scare, the sheer fact there were various messages written across the walls telling anyone who dare enter to run would have sent them with their tails between their legs, but they weren’t easy to scare, and the look that crossed Baekhyun’s face as he shone his flashlight on the writing was proof. Baekhyun wasn’t quite sure how this all started truthfully, both himself and Chanyeol had no issue getting into the building; the door practically falling off its hinges with rust, and from the get-go, it did seem like the building was truly empty.
Even though he was in imminent danger of the building collapsing in on himself and anyone that was left at any second, Baekhyun still found the energy to yell in a last attempt to find his comrade.
“CHANYEOL,” Baekhyun found himself screaming down one of the empty hallways, his words dissolving into a cough at the smoke that tickled his lungs, spluttering violently into the fabric of his jacket to hack it back up. “COME ON MAN, WHERE ARE YOU?” He hacked again.
The fire was louder than any life in the building, the crackling and whipping sounds of its destruction filling Baekhyun’s ears like hellish white noise, but not even the sound of a response cut through it; it was silence on Chanyeol’s end.
Beads of sweat from the heat hastily dripped down Baekhyun’s face soot and blood-covered face; stinging the cuts that were left on his face from his earlier scrummage. The need to take his jacket off growing more and more with every second he spent in the belly of this beast, but he kept going on, even if the smoke was kicking in, his legs barely stumbling to down the hall to one of the last places Chanyeol could have been.
“Nostromo apartments?” Baekhyun scrunched his nose up at the man standing at Sehun’s desk, “You want me to scope out that shithole? Why?”
“Because of this,” Jongin sighed, plucking a piece of paper from his pocket while their boss looked tensely at his computer screen, “One of our men was slipped it at Yixing’s casino,”
“And what does it say?” Baekhyun pressed with a slight glare, “And better yet, why am I going.”
“It’s just an address,” Jongin shrugged, “Nothing else, just an address.”
“You’re going because it’s your job,” Sehun cut in but not bothering to glance at the man while he typed, “And because nearly everyone else is busy.”
“But-,” Baekhyun began childishly, a scowl on his face.
“No buts.” Sehun refrained from snapping, “And Jesus, take Chanyeol with you, I’m tired of him moping around the damn place.” Sehun bothered to look at him this time, a glare etched into his eyes.
Baekhyun now wished that he’d argued for Sehun to let him go alone, his body barely able to stay upright as he stumbled down the hall to the main stairwell; his face pulling taught as the peaked down, the flames consuming most of the bottom floors and stairs, meaning the only way was up.
“CHANYEOL,” Baekhyun tried yelling again, but he felt his face harden when he was met with more silence; a dark look passing by his face as he remembered one of Sehun’s rules.
“You get separated?” Sehun stated, pointing at his men, “You leave them behind, two of you is more valuable than one to someone else, we can’t have that.”
He wanted to directly oppose Sehun’s rule at that moment, but with the smoke-belching into his lungs, Baekhyun was finding it harder and harder to breathe; his heart gripped in a way he wasn’t comfortable as he moved away from the stairs that led down, his eyes burning with more than the smoke as he stumbled to the stairs that lead up. Moments were blurring together as the smoke inhalation started playing with Baekhyun’s brain, his lungs burning with such an intensity that he thought that maybe he was gonna die on the stairs to the roof, the colours of the fire and the walls melding together, he had finally found himself in hell.
By the time he’d made it to the last stairway up, Baekhyun was grabbing his throat like he was ready to strangle himself – the fire in the building had him breathing in all sorts of nasty chemicals and the blow had knocked another concussion into his fragile skull, he was a mess and a bigger mess at the thought that he’d let one of his best friends go. When Baekhyun found himself shouldering open the roof door with the last of his energy, he wasn’t sure what to do; the soft caresses of clean air feeling like heaven on his heavy chest to the point he felt content with just laying there and waiting for the building to fully collapse, but he knew deep down that it wasn’t an option.
His dirty hands wiped the moisture and soot from his eyes as Baekhyun finally staggered to full height; the burning in his torso a distant thought as he looked around at what he could do. Limping towards the edge of the building, he grimaced slightly, he could make the jump to the next roof but probably barely, the building next to him was slightly smaller and a tad out of reach. But as the building gave a horrific grumble, it prompted Baekhyun to make up his mind quickly; the distant sounds of police and firemen on their way not helping either.
Stumbling back a few paces, Baekhyun tenses his shoulders slightly before he took off into a sprint towards the edge of the building; his boot planting firmly on the ledge to boost himself up before he was lifted up and over the side of the building – the world rushing past him in a haze, his body tipping forward slightly as he saw the other building nearing closer and closer. Baekhyun barely managed to roll to catch himself before he found himself sprawled out starfish on the ground, a wheeze pushing itself out his lungs at the impact of landing on the roof, his head still up in the clouds.
“I knew this was a bad idea.”
With every second that passed, you felt like your heart was about to burst out of your chest; Chanyeol’s body slumped against you was going a horrible cold temperature, your hands were stained with so much blood that you felt gagging in your throat that reminded you too much of your excursion to the compound to feel comfortable, and the fate of the man in your arms depended on if your ex-boyfriend could get here quick enough. A cardiac arrest might have sounded closer to how you were feeling right now.
At first, you had stood with your hands holding the rag to Chanyeol’s wound as tight as you could muster, but as the blood flow slowed down one of your hands strayed; that hand was tangled softly in Chanyeol’s vibrant red locks, your voice trying its best to stay calm as you tried to keep speaking to him softly in the hopes that he might wake up. It was an odd situation but you felt like you owed it to him, regardless of how the two of you met, Chanyeol had treated you fairly in a situation that called for him to be; he worth at least this amount of kindness, even if he wasn’t regarded as a saint.
The apartment was so quiet, the only thing filling your ears being Chanyeol’s gentle breath, that when you heard the sound of your front door being busted down, you almost felt yourself drop the man in your arms; the image of Jeonghan’s shocked face filling the doorway a few seconds later in what you could only describe as sheer horror.
“Y/n…” Jeonghan started confusedly, but you quickly interrupted him.
“He’s been stabbed, Jeonghan, can we save the questions for when he isn’t bleeding out over me?” You quickly snipped at him.
It was magical to watch Jeonghan’s switch from a normal person to a doctor, his face hardening slightly as he dropped the kit he was holding to rush over; His hand pushing Chanyeol back onto the counter and off you in seconds. It was like watching a wizard work and he produced a small flashlight from his pocket and quickly pried Chanyeol’s eyes open.
“How long has he been out,” Jeonghan asked quickly in a resilient voice, flicking the small light in and out of his eyes before pocketing it again, quickly checking his pulse.
“About 15 minutes,” You stuttered softly, “He was just out when I called, you were the only person I thought could-,” This time it was Jeonghan cutting you off.
“He’s not in shock, not yet anyway,” Jeonghan quickly said, rushing over to his kit to grab a pair of gloves, “We’ll discuss this after I do this okay?” His eyes quickly fluttered to you before he was back to work. With a meek nod, you watched him go.
It seemed all the years of schooling paid off for him, your eyes watching in slight amazement as Jeonghan jumped between jobs; after doing a check for breaks on his ribcage and checking his heart/breathing, the tended to the wound that was glaringly obvious on the bottom of his torso, his fingers gentle as he pried it open to get a proper look.
“Whoever did this wasn’t intending to kill,” Jeonghan mumbled, quickly grabbing a cotton pad stack and rubbing alcohol, “It’s deep not it’s not surgery deep, but he’s lost a lot of blood”
“But no signs of hypovolemic shock,” He hummed much to your confusion, “He’s lost enough to pass out but not enough to kill him,” He explained to you in simpler terms.
“Will he be okay?” You felt a small resemblance of relief.
“I’ll need to stitch his wound,” Jeonghan stated trying to clean as much of the blood up as he could, “You’re typically not supposed to take a knife out of a stab wound, that’s how you bleed out, but you did the right thing clotting the wound,” He glanced at you with a softness in his eyes, some wisps of his blond hair falling into his face from where it was tied back.
“Right now, we need to make sure he doesn’t go into shock, okay?” Jeonghan said gently to you, “That mean’s I need to suture his wound as fast as possible and you’re gonna have to help me move him so I can, can you do that?”
It was then you realised that Jeonghan was talking softer to you because he could see how tense you were and as a way not to freak you out, your heart-melting slightly at his attitude.
“I can try,” You nodded, “But he’s heavy.” Jeonghan hummed.
“Built like that you would be,” He nodded to the fact that Chanyeol was all smooth skin and hard muscle.
“On the count of three okay?” Jeonghan explained, “We’ll move him to the couch, I need him reclined to do his stitches.”
The two of you only glanced at each other once before you both grabbed one of Chanyeol’s arms; fitting them around both of your shoulders and with a deep breath you nodded again, even though he couldn’t see you. Jeonghan wasted no time in counted and before you knew it, the two of you were grunting as you lifted the man that was taller than the two of you.
The walk to your couch felt like a marathon as the two of you barely made it in time to drop the man on the sofa cushions of your couch; Jeonghan instantly taking over the work to lay his patient, lifting his legs onto the couch before making sure his head was properly supported on the other end. Jeonghan didn’t even need to ask before you were scuttling to the bathroom to grab his kit again, making sure you had everything before you ran and passed it to him; watching the doctor in training change his gloves and quickly sanitise his hands for the new pair.
“I need you to get some blankets and a hot water bottle,” He wasted no time in quickly set everything up to stitch the wound close, “His internal body tempt is down due to blood loss so we need to sustain it before his body starts panicking.” You were about to open your mouth to argue with him about something before he passed you a look that would make even a parent scared.
“You don’t need to watch me suture him, don’t do that to yourself; get the stuff please.” He asked you again, “He’s going to be okay.” You merely shook your head before you darted off to the kitchen, boiling the kettle quicker than light.
You felt like a terrified mother as you made haste around the kitchen and apartment, trying to avoid looking at Jeonghan working; the man only carrying a calm look, this was a normal part of his job. The respect you held for him was always unimaginable but at that moment you felt something akin to pride as you peaked at him working, the grace he held as a doctor proved to you that everything that had happened between the two of you might have been worth it to him. This was truly his calling.
Soon enough you were dumping the stuff he requested down next to him; your nose turning up as he finished bandaging around his wound, the smell of antibiotic cream hitting your senses unpleasantly.
“You owe me a lot of answers,” Jeonghan was tense as his eyes skirted to you, watching you gnaw on your anxiously, “So get talking.”
“Jeonghan…” You said softly while tucking the hot water bottle under one of Chanyeol’s arms, trying to avoid it for as long as possible, “Please, can’t it wait till morning.”
“No.” Jeonghan snapped at you, a first for him in a while, “It can’t wait till morning.” He stood up as you placed the blankets over Chanyeol, waiting for you before he grabbed your arm and dragged you back into the bathroom; away from the sleeping man.
The bathroom still had streaks of blood over the counter, with the rag you used thrown in the sink to be out of sight – there was a vague metallic smell in the place as well that was being fought by your air freshener; it looked like a crime scene in here, and maybe there was some truth in that. Mentally you acknowledged that you were observing the room to avoid talking to Jeonghan, but you couldn’t help yourself, the door clicked softly behind you reminding you of that.
“I don’t ask for much,” Jeonghan started with a puff of his chest, looking around the bathroom at the butchery as well, “But I at least ask for the barest amount of honesty from you.” His eyes were drilling into you as you refused to meet them.
“Listen Jeonghan, he’s…” You were slightly at a loss of words on what to call the man on your couch; was he a friend? Was he a foe? He hadn’t done more than lie to you, you knew that much, “He needed help.” You affirmed instead, glancing at him briefly.
“I could see that,” Jeonghan said sarcastically, “But explain to me why he didn’t go to, you know, a hospital?” He did say it so simply, that if you didn’t know Chanyeol like that you would have asked the same thing. “He couldn’t,” You tried to reason with him, but he cut you off.
“He couldn’t? You couldn’t call or?” Jeonghan was aggravated, his complexion had a ting of red to coat it.
“He just couldn’t,” You snapped back, your lip wobbling slightly, “He’s not like you or me,” Your voice took a juxtaposition, as you spoke quietly.
Upon seeing you were getting upset, Jeonghan placed his hands on your shoulders, looking you dead in the eyes with a soft look – one of his hands coming up to touch your face slightly with concern.
“Hey, it’s okay…” He frowned, swiping a small tear away from your face, “What’s going on…”
Pouting your mouth softly, your mind ran through the last week and a half; from the shooting to the compound and everything that following that – your life had been tipped upside down in unimaginable ways and it was no secret that you were keeping a tight lid on how you felt about things. No one sprung to mind when it came to talking about the things that you had seen and witnessed, your jaw starting to tremble as you remembered the start of it all – watching someone that in some way you could call a friend lying next to you on the ground, the only sign that he was there were his pooling blood and dead eyes. It had a snowball effect on you more than you realised; from the constant threats against your life, the guns, the warehouse, the fact that these men had swept into your life and taken over aspects of it like nothing was wrong.
It’s not that you weren’t fond of the Chanyeol, or at times even that slimy guy that Baekhyun could be, but the issue was it that you weren’t supposed to be even remotely fond of any of them. The two of them having a hand in the way that you can’t sleep well at night anymore, or why you constantly had to check behind you in the small case that someone was following – you were adapting to the life they had placed you in, but you knew that at the heart of it all, this was just another day on the job for them.
Standing in front of Jeonghan now, felt like a twisted reminder of what life was supposed to be like – you were supposed to feel angry at the fact that a known criminal had welcomed himself into your house with his destruction without a thought of the person on the other end, you were supposed to question things. But as of lately, you’ve been accepting everything that was handed to you.
“Comply, comply, comply…” You remember Chanyeol saying to you, a distant enough memory now.
Had you found comfort in compliancy? Were you no better than the men that Sehun commanded around? An ashen taste filling your mouth at the fact you worked at one of his clubs now.
“Were you as bad as them?” You thought, they were criminals after all, and you knew this… Glancing back at Jeonghan you registered the worry on his face, his eyes flickering around your face like the ever-concerned human he was.
Your companion jumped slightly when you flung yourself at him, wrapping around him desperately; he was a semblance of normality and how you craved that at that moment, he wasted no time wrapping his arms around you too, listening as you quietly sniffled at him
“I have so much I need to tell you about…”
Midnight; tucked away down a side-ally and hidden to the naked eye, dubbed to some as the pinnacle of indulgence and dulce company, but to most, it was known for its exotic nightlife and less than saintly company or at least that’s what Yixing thought as his feline eyes fluttered around the establishment. Yixing knew the owners spared on cost on the place, the modern take on baroque lining every part of the room; gold accents replaced silver and delicate beige and cream licked the walls in their demure but tasteful way. He was no inexpensive man, none of his brothers were, but even Yixing knew that most of the time he carried himself with a certain grace that made getting through crowds a lot easier; a modern Moses if the biblical man carried a loaded gun and a silver tongue.
Yixing wouldn’t have come here if it wasn’t of importance to himself or his brothers, with the gaudy smell of burning incense was enough reason to drive him home, but as he casually strolled through the place; he soon caught wind of the only reason he was there. Nestled at the grand bar, tucked away under the droplets of crystal that hung from above; Park Jeonghwa.
“Miss Park,” Yixing was ever the gentleman, approaching the bar with grace next to her, “Long time no see.” But the woman in question didn’t look to have the same energy for him.
While Yixing was a few years older than her, he’d known her (like Sehun), for as long as he could remember; and to the trained eye there would be nothing wrong with the young woman, but Yixing – he could see the fraying of her character with one glance. There was an edge to her eye’s that wasn’t here before their last meeting.
“Yixing.” Jeonghwa grumbled back too occupied playing with the olive of her martini to give any energy back, “What brings you here.” She sighed slightly, glancing at him.
Jeonghwa always was the picture of perfection; right down to the last atom. She held a grace that most women could only dream of having, while at the same time having a mouth that could talk her way out of anything – she was all bark and no bite, but her skills did lie elsewhere.
“Felt like gambling my life away,” Yixing’s mouth tilted softly in a rare smirk, “Where better to do it then as the ever so grand Midnight Casino and Bar.” A playful tone edging into his voice, but regardless at his small form of a joke; the every stony Jeonghwa did not crack.
“Yes, well enjoy,” She scoffed softly, reaching to down her drink in one as Yixing’s brow raised.
“You’re a hard woman to track, you know?” He spoke carefully, watching closely at her reactions, her tired eyes flicking to his at his statement.
“Tell your boss, I don’t want to be found.” Her eye’s hardened slightly as she forwent mentioning his name.
“So, Sehun’s the one that rattled your cage,” He noted softly, watching a small village ending fire dance in her eyes, “I should have guessed as much.”
“I hate him, Yixing.” She mumbled almost childishly, turning back away from him, “I hate everything about that man, he’s decayed right down to his pathetic little core.”
“No, you don’t,” Yixing tsk-ed softly, “If you felt that way, you wouldn’t have such impassioned words to say about him.” She merely huffed.
“Did he send you here,” She changed the subject quickly.
“No,” Yixing hummed, tapping his fingers on the bar softly, “I’m here on my own accord,” Her eyes flicked to him in a glare.
“Don’t lie to me.” She snapped slightly, “I’m not in the mood.”
“Junmyeon called, you didn’t pick up and so I’m here,” Yixing explained, trying to keep her temper at bay, but Jeonghwa only shook her head with an eye-roll.
“Whatever he wants, you can tell him that I don’t care,” She scoffed, flagging down the bartender for another drink, “I’m tired of everyone in that stupid place,” Yixing looked at the woman before sighing internally, letting the bartender tend to her before he tried talking anymore.
“I’m not aware of what happened between you and Sehun,” Yixing said honestly, “But whatever is it, I can clearly see it’s affecting you.”
“Ever the observant,” Jeonghwa mumbled back, “Yes, I am upset and rightly so.” Yixing raised his brow at her.
“I always keep his best interests at heart, even if it doesn’t seem like it,” She griped, a distant look in her eye, “All I asked in return is that he considered one thing and he couldn’t even grant me that, Yixing,” She looked at him with pain in her eyes.
“I feel used, and I have done for a while.” Jeonghwa spat as her mouth pursed; Yixing held for a second before he decided to speak.
“I think we’re all aware of yours and Sehun’s relationship,” Yixing cleared his throat softly, “And I think you’re more aware of the truth behind it than you left on…” His brow raised softly, watching the women tense up.
“You can’t tie him down, Jeonghwa,” Yixing stated softly, “No one can.”
“I can try,” Jeonghwa said softly in a rare sign of vulnerability.
“Forcing him into marrying you won’t make him love you, Jeonghwa” Yixing told her gently.
She looked like she was having an inner battle with herself before she grumbled again, tensing back up into her shell before Yixing could fully pry it open.
“He could learn.” She huffed again, looking at bitter as before. Yixing knew that Sehun probably could learn how to love someone, but that someone wasn’t her.
“Is that why you agreed to help him,” Yixing asked plainly, “To soften him up?” But when Yixing was met with silence, he raised his brow.
“Jeonghwa,” Yixing demanded slightly, but the woman refused to face him.
“I told him what I knew, that was it.” She snapped softly, choosing to stare at her glass.
Pursing his lips slightly, Yixing knew he had to tread carefully – opting to reach into his jacket pocket instead of answering straight away. His fingers brushed a soft cream envelope, pulling it out gently to hold in front of Jeonghwa – the latter’s eyes glancing curiously at it.
“What’s that?” She asked, confused at why he was holding it out to her – her perfectly manicured hand reaching out for it, but she jumped slightly with it was moved slightly out of reach, Yixing a lot closer than he was before.
“You know I will find out,” He said quietly while staring her down, “I’ll give you one shot to be truthful, Jeonghwa, it doesn’t have to be right now – but whatever you’re hiding, I will know.”
“You should save your interrogation skills for the real felons,” Her eyebrow raised slightly, “I’ve said it to your boss, and I’ll say it to you – I told you what I know, that’s it.”
“Jeonghwa,” Yixing’s voice was dangerous quietly, “This isn’t a game, you’re going to win – there’s no prize.”
“Bold of you to assume I’m playing any game,” Jeonghwa scoffed back, tilted her head ever so slightly to stare Yixing down.
Yixing merely hummed, his eyes flickering over her face for second before he presented the envelope to her again.
“Next Friday; 8:30pm, tell no one,” He explained quietly under his breath, “A party for members, assure you and your father turn up.” Jeonghwa stanched the paper out of his hands before he could retract it again.
“Haven’t been to one of these in a while,” She mused, “The occasion?”
“Something you’ll find out when you’re there,” Yixing kept a stony face, “You’re expected to be there, don’t let pettiness ruin that – we’re all on thin ice.”
“You could have delivered this to my father,” Jeonghwa noted with a raised brow.
“I could have,” Yixing admitted, “But I don’t think it would have the same effect.” He glanced at her with a look that she couldn’t read properly.
“Dress sharply Jeonghwa, Sehun will want to see you.”
There was an awful lurch in Chanyeol’s stomach as he started to come back to life, the acid gripping his oesophagus in a chokehold causing his throat to constrict was enough to stir him from his slumber, but barely. He had no recollection of where he was, the only feeling in his body aside the overwhelming want to vomit was the softness under his spine and a warm coating his body. It was concerning; not even the bed’s in the medical bay of the compound felt like welcoming. Chanyeol could feel the dryness coating his mouth and lips like someone had sucked any life that was left in him out, his lids like sandpaper across the skin; he hadn’t felt this rough in a while.
Chanyeol wanted to fully wake up, to sit up and wonder where the hell he was, but the best he could manage was the slow blinking of his eyes opening; the early morning hues of the day settling into a place that looked vaguely familiar to him.
“He was in an apartment,” He thought dully, his head giving a painful throb at the changing of lights – It was still winter in the city, so the streaking orange that covered the ceiling at least told the aching man that it was around 8am. He couldn’t place where he’d seen this place before, his blurry eyes racking around everywhere he could look to try and get a recollection, but it wasn’t coming to him instantly.
“I see you’re awake,” A voice sounded out to his left. If Chanyeol had the energy to be scared by him he was sure he would be, but he barely had the energy to turn his head the fraction it needs to see who it was.
Standing in the door of the kitchen was a blonde man, his body leaning against the door with a cup of what looked like coffee; he’d seen this man before in Y/N’s apartment, his mind suddenly clicking where he was. He hadn’t looked at the place much during his last visit.
“Any pain’s?” The man hummed as he walked into the living space, making his way to the armchair not far from Chanyeol. He barely had the energy to follow him with his eyes, but he managed, keeping an eye on his closely, he didn’t trust him.
Chanyeol couldn’t see he came into much contact with “normal people”, his job didn’t really require it; but looking at the blonde man who looked beyond tired irked him, something didn’t settle well with him. “Nothing to say?” The blonde raised an eyebrow while perched in his chair, “Shame, here was me thinking that you’d tell me more about yourself, Chanyeol…” There was a vague sense of amusement dancing in his eyes as Chanyeol’s widened slightly.
He remembered telling you not to tell the man in front of him his name; the words of the persons barely on his tongue as he tried to remember it.
“Don’t fret,” He smirked, “I’m no danger to you,” At that Chanyeol tried to sit up, but yelped slightly as he felt a slight pulling at the bottom of his stomach.
“Who are you,” Chanyeol finally managed to grit out, registering that he was bundled in blankets, but the man in question merely laughed.
“I was that forgettable, huh?” He laughed but it was with amusement, “If you must know, I’m Jeonghan, the man that helped stopped you from bleeding out.” That left a bad taste in Chanyeol’s mouth.
“What, do you want my thanks?” He lay back down with a grunt, his head starting to throb painfully.
“You’re up a lot earlier than I expected you to be,” Jeonghan ignored him, placing his coffee on a side table to stand up, he rather slender body making his way over to him.
But Chanyeol felt like biting the man when he grabbed his head, tilting it towards him to shine a light into his pupils; the sharpness of the white light burning his retina as it flicked in and out of them
“No concussion,” Jeonghan hummed furrowing his brow at the man, “Temperature seems fine.”
“Get away from me,” Chanyeol growled slightly, trying to push the man away but the aching in his body stopped him from moving, “What did you do to me?” He growled again.
“You were stabbed,” Jeonghan rolled his eyes, swatting the hand that attempted to move him, “I stitched you back up, are you following?” Jeonghan’s sarcasm had Chanyeol edging to hit him, more so than just being in his presence wanted that.
“You’ve got a sprained arm and swelling around the stomach as well,” He noted off, still looking down at him, “I suspect a cracked rib but only barely and some swelling around the jaw and neck – you did get yourself in quite the scuffle didn’t you?”
“Where’s Baekhyun?” Chanyeol opted to ignore him this time, gruntled softly as he rubbed a hand down his face, the exhaustion heavy in his body.
“Not here,” Jeonghan spoke to him plainly, “You came alone, and I’m hoping you could tell me how,” Chanyeol merely grumbled shutting his eyes so he didn’t have to look at him.
“What are you a cop or something,” He hissed softly trying to move again on the couch.
“A doctor,” Jeonghan corrected and frowned watching the man move, “A training one at least.”
“Will you stop that,” Jeonghan proceeded to snap at his patient, forcing his shoulder down back on the couch “Keep moving and you’re gonna tear your stitches, and I don’t feel as welcoming to stitch you back up this time.” He jeered at the man.
Opening his eyes back up to stare down the man, Chanyeol started taking a profile of him; he wasn’t a natural blonde, the small amount of brown peeking out of his skull telling him that, he was also a bit on the thinner side, Chanyeol having no doubt he could take the man even in his state. But there was a tiny bit of muscle to his form, probably from his line of work, the slight definition in his arms and shoulders told Chanyeol that he could probably throw a punch.
“It’s cute you’re trying to scare me,” Chanyeol said, “But it won’t work.” Jeonghan merely smiled at that.
“Scare you?” He repeated, “I have no reason to do that,” Chanyeol gave him a curious look.
“But I will tell you one thing,” His voice dropped as he crouched down to be closer to Chanyeol, “I may be a doctor, but I’m not a forgiving man.” Chanyeol frowned at that.
“She told me everything,” Jeonghan smirked slightly, “And you are very lucky she waited till after I fixed you up, because otherwise…” He said darkly
“I don’t think I would have bothered,” Chanyeol’s eyes hardened at that, but the doctor didn’t stop.
“You’re on thin ice with both me and her,” Jeonghan glowered at him, “Even a finger out of line and you’ll regret it, do I make myself clear?” Chanyeol scoffed at him.
“Am I supposed to be scared?” He spat out, but the man merely leered in response.
“I don’t think you have an idea of what I can do,” Jeonghan said simply standing back up as Chanyeol’s eyes trailed him.
The blonde merely took his seat back on the armchair, picking up a discarded book that was near his coffee while Chanyeol stared at him. Jeonghan played him no mind anymore, not even bothered to glance at him as he spoke.
“Get some more rest, Chanyeol – you’re going to need it.”
Going to bed was supposed to be the place you felt most comfortable, bathed in warm and welcoming – but for some reason, sleep had been evading you much like you had been evading the reason that was causing it. The process of coming to terms with things was never simple, you knew that; you had come to terms with many things in your short life, all them carrying their pain but how do you come to terms with things that were still going on? Can you move past the present? These were all thoughts that plagued your mind, more so after the night that you had.
After the fiasco in the bathroom, Jeonghan had gently coerced you into laying in your room; away from the problem on the couch and into something that you could find comfort in, or what you were supposed to find comfort in. With him being ever the gentleman as he made himself accustomed to your space and going out of his way to clean you up, he tried to make it as nice as an environment as possible so that when you did unleash the skeletons in your closet, you weren’t alone.
Jeonghan wasn’t a cruel guy, more often than not he was the loveliest person you’d meet; being a doctor bought out all the caring qualities in him, and while he never lost that sarcastic edge, he never used it in a way to hurt anyone – or more specifically, you. So, to see the way his face darkened as you told him everything that had happened had broken you slightly, he was someone you never wanted to see upset; and the way his body language changed was scary. You had spent what felt like hours explaining everything to him, his hesitance to the man on the couch outside the door growing with each word, to the point that you had to stop him several times from going out there. The two of you talked until you felt the exhaustion kissing your lids like a lover, your grasp on reality shrinking – you had assumed that Jeonghan would stay with you, but you couldn’t even fight him as he gave you a brief kiss on the forehead, telling you he’d watch over the guest while you slept, his mind too chaotic to do anything else.
It was hours later that you eventually found yourself in the most uncomfortable setting in your life; after starting your morning far earlier than you had hoped to, you hadn’t expected both Jeonghan and Chanyeol to be in the living room when you eventually decided to go out. The latter of which, still asleep on the couch – his face riddled with cuts and bruises.
“He’s got no phone on him,” Jeonghan whispered as he led you to the kitchen, “Checked his pockets, just a weapon and blood-stained keys.” You frowned softly.
“We’re gonna have to drive him back,” You whispered back, “I don’t have any way to contact them, but I have a rough idea of where they stay…”
“Are you crazy?” Jeonghan’s eyes were wide, “You want to go back there?”
“What choice do we have?” You quizzed back, “He can’t drive, and he can’t exactly get a cab back, can he?” You watched as Jeonghan’s chest expanded in stress.
“I’m not driving him back, no I refuse to go near that place,” Jeonghan’s eyes were hard, but you gave him a stressed look.
“Then give me your keys,” You held your hand out to him, “I’ll drive him.” His eye’s widening.
“You’re not going yourself,” He snapped softly, but you only made a frustrated noise at him.
“He can’t stay here, Jeonghan” You raised your voice an octave, “His boss is going to be looking for him.”
“Listen,” You tried to reason with him as a look crossed his face, “We take him back, we give him to Baekhyun or whoever and we leave – it’ll take 20 minutes tops, whatever he’s involved in has nothing to do with us.”
“I swear to god if he-,” Jeonghan started but was cut off when another voice cut into the conversation.
“He can hear you,” Chanyeol had managed to pull himself up and was now leaning against the door on the kitchen; grabbing his bare torso in pain, the blankets long forgotten, “The two of you need to work on whispering.”
“Chanyeol!” You yelped, as he winced, your voice too loud for his head, “You’re alive, thank god” You tried to smile but his eyes settled on you, it became strained.
“No thanks to you,” He hummed, limping further into the kitchen to sit at the table, his face pulling taught as he eased himself into a sitting position.
Jeonghan was glowering next you as the two of you looked at the man, he looked worse for wear, but he at least looked better than he did last night.
“You shouldn’t be up,” Jeonghan told him, leaning against the counter with his arms crossed, the two men staring each other down.
“I’ll survive, doc,” Chanyeol told him sarcastically, but his face softened up when you placed a glass of water in front of him – you hand warm, as it placed on the skin of his shoulder.
“Chanyeol, what happened?” Your face was pinched with worry, but he merely sighed – moving away from your warmth and taking a sip of his water.
“Nothing to worry yourself about,” He grumbled, shaking his head but you weren’t having that.
“You came to my home bleeding and disorientated, I think you owe me some explanation.” Your voice was hard, and the surprise at this registered on his face.
“Mission went wrong,” He said simply, “That’s all you need to know and that’s all I can tell you.” You vaguely heard Jeonghan scoff from behind you.
“Chanyeol.” You warned, giving him a hard look.
“I don’t fancy getting shot,” Chanyeol snapped, staring you dead in the eye, “There are some things that you don’t need to know, even if you’re pushy about it.” You flinched slightly at that but took a step back with a look.
“Whatever,” You shook your head at him, jaw set, “We’re taking you home.” His brow furrowed.
“I’ll make my own way home, thanks.” He stated, not bothering to look at you.
This time Jeonghan cut into the conversation, and he didn’t look happy.
“Listen, take the help,” His voice was hard, “You’re in no fit condition to drive and wherever you and your “brothers” reside isn’t walking distance, so suck it up.” You flinched slightly at him.
“Jeonghan,” You warned but Chanyeol cut in.
“Get your boytoy on a leash,” Chanyeol retorted, sitting a bit straighter “I never asked for his help.”
“The two of you please,” You begged slightly, looking between the two of them before directing yourself at Chanyeol.
“You’re getting a shirt on and you’re getting in that car, Chanyeol.” You snapped softly giving him a tense look, “I don’t care if you don’t want the help, you’re stranded here otherwise.” His jaw was set into a hard line.
“I said…” Chanyeol tried to reason with you but you weren’t having it.
“I don’t give a shit what you said.” You raised your voice, he had a vague amount of surprise in his eyes, “You’ll do it and that’s final.”
Glaring at him one last time, you moved to get out of the kitchen, the stress and hurt radiating off you in waves at the situation but you tried to suck it up, tossing over your shoulder as you got out the room.
“Get ready to leave.”
If you had to talk to someone about the world’s most horrific road trip, you imagined the look on someone’s face as you talked about the time you were stuck in a car with a trainee doctor and a wanted gang member; the spectacle on their face as their heard about how awkward the silence was and how badly you wished to throw yourself out the car door.
As much as you wanted someone to listen to you complain, you were far too busy living the awkward road trip, the three of you a sight for sore eyes as you sped down the highway. Chanyeol had been relegated to the back of Jeonghan’s car out of fear for the man’s safety and for the fact he could keep laying down on the seats – but it was a bit funny it to watch his long-form struggle to fit.
The trip to the compound was brief, Jeonghan basically speeding there and yourself too busy looking out the window to fully pay attention to what was going on; no one bothered to speak other than the brief directions you’d give every so often and the occasional grunt from Chanyeol as the car hurdled over a speed bump. It wasn’t peaceful in the slightest, you wanted nothing more to be at home since you were working tonight but you still found yourself there, a thread filling your stomach as the city melded from buildings to vast expanses of trees, you could practically taste the fear the closer you got.
Even though you had offered to drive, you don’t think you could have had the nerve to pull up to the massive house like Jeonghan did – speeding through the gates and into the courtyard that you hadn’t seen properly since that night.
You weren’t sure what reaction you expected pulling up through the open gates, but the three seconds it took for gunmen to fill the space had Jeonghan stopping the car with a screech; Chanyeol yelping as he was flung forward from where he was laying down. Vaguely you could see some familiar faces among the barrels of guns pointed towards you but a loud voice cutting through had the two of your tumbling out the car like you were on fire, someone appearing on your side of the car to tap on the window.
“Get out, hands where we can see them.” A face you didn’t recognise demanded, not seeing Chanyeol in the back, but you meekly nodded.
Glancing at Jeonghan the two of you nodded at each other before stepping out the car, a chill running through you as numerous guns clocked in case you tried to pull something.
“What’s your business here,” The man in front of you stated, his eyes hard as he looked you up and down; Jeonghan on the other side no doubt getting the same treatment.
“Well…” You stuttered, surprised no one recognised you but that didn’t last long, the car door beside the two-tumbling open as your third passenger tumbled to his feet with a grunt, surprising everyone in the area.
“Put the damn guns down, idiot,” Chanyeol swore at them as he stood to his full height, pushing the man in front of you out the way as you stared at him in shock.
“Chanyeol,” It was the man’s turn to stutter, jumping to help him as he limped away from the car to pass a glance at you, “We thought-,”
“Well you thought wrong,” He didn’t give him a chance to explain before he interrupted, looking around at the underlings holding guns up to the car before he focused on someone standing behind at the foot of the house, not that you bothered to turn around, “Do you mind calling them off, Jongin?” A chuckle met your ears faintly from the man in question.
“Only the warmest of welcomes for you, Yeol…” Jongin spoke, as Chanyeol began to limp around the car and away from you, their voices fading out; and your body deflating slightly, he was partly being carried by the man that tapped on your window, not that you bothered.
Glancing around to fully look, you noted how one of the men still stood next to Jeonghan – a hard look passing over his face as he stared at him but you merely caught Jeonghan’s slightly annoyed eyes with a soft smile, making your way over much to the digression of the man with him. The two of you shared a look before something settled on Jeonghan’s face, a hand touching your shoulder a few seconds had you looking around; a familiar face filling your vision.
“Y/N, was it?” The man you registered as Minseok touched your shoulder with a slight smile as you meekly nodded in response, “Fantastic, do the two of you want to come with me?” You were about to answer when Jeonghan cut in.
“We have somewhere to be,” Jeonghan stated, giving Minseok a look which didn’t sit well with him, “We’re just ready to leave.”
“As nice as that is,” Minseok smiled tightly, “I’m afraid I’m going to have to insist, my boss would like to see the two of you.”
“That won’t be needed-,” Jeonghan tried to talk about you cut him off with a look, knowing the last thing to do was offended someone that could have you shot before you could blink.
“Ignore him,” You smiled apprehensively, “Lead the way,” You gestured for him to walk in front of you.
The two of you probably looked vaguely like show ponies as you were led in front of the large group and into the house; everyone’s eyes staring at you like you could revolt at any moment and decide to attack – a far cry from what it was like last time you were here. The compound was still the same as before, the winter morning giving it a glint that almost made the place look friendly but as you were led up the stairs to the familiar foyer; your heart dropped out of your ass as the prospect of where you were going. The two of you were only one step into the place before you heard a voice off the side make a side comment.
“We’ll you look terrible,” A sarcastic voice that held no bite sounded off, your eyes flicking to a familiar face.
Baekhyun.
“You’re one to talk,” You said softly, wincing slightly as you took him in – he was much in the same condition as Chanyeol if only a fraction better; his face cut and bruised, but he still looked good, “You look like you’ve seen better days.” He laughed at that, wincing softly as he walked closer.
“I suppose I owe you thanks,” He said honestly much to your surprise; his eyes flicking from you to Jeonghan who was posed slightly behind you, “The two of you.” “What for…” You frowned; a bit confused.
“Well, he’s not going to say it is he,” Baekhyun rolled his eyes, “Whatever you did for Chanyeol, thank you – honestly.” He looked you in the eyes; a rare moment from the man that he looked someway normal.
“It’s okay…” You said softly, “Jeonghan did most of the work.” You nodded with a small smile.
“Regardless,” Baekhyun waved his hand, shooing the thought off, “I owe you my thanks, I’m not mentally prepared for a new partner just yet” He winked at you as Minseok scoffed.
“You’re keeping the boss waiting, Baekhyun.” He rolled his eyes, but there was no bite in the words.
“Merely giving my thanks, Min,” Baekhyun smirked, before he gestured to the stairs, “Be on your way.”
Baekhyun blended back into his place as Minseok continued to lead you both up the stairs in silence; only the sound of yours and Jeonghan’s breathing was heard as the stairs became less and less before your eyes. Jeonghan was staring at you intently, his eyes asking if you were okay but you merely shook your head; the last time you had seen the man in the office, the two of you shared a normal moment in his car as he drove you home, but now it seemed like that was a distant memory that wasn’t to be thought of again.
The double cream doors opened on-demand as the three of you neared, opening to show you the horror inside, sat at his desk casually with a raised eyebrow was the man of the hour: Sehun.
“If I knew you’d be back so soon I’d have thrown together a better welcome party,” Sehun wasted no time in making a sardonic remark, “But I see you brought a friend this time,” He noted as the two of you were led to stand in front of his desk so he could get a better look at you.
Every time you saw the man you were constantly annoyed at how put together he looked in every situation – this time his long hair was loosely slicked back from his face to reveal the smooth skin of his unmarred face, his all-black suit doing the most of giving off the appearance that he was, in fact, the powerful man he believed himself to be.
“Nothing to say?” His mouth jilted slightly, he was in a surprisingly good mood for someone who had a man MIA for nearly a day, “That’s a first.” You merely just turned your head away from him.
“Sehun,” You said quietly in a greeting - nodding at him, “Lovely to see you again,” He hummed at that, casting his eyes from you to Jeonghan as you winced, you could imagine his face.
“Problem?” Sehun’s voice lost its amusing edge at he spoke to the man, “Or would you like to introduce yourself?” When Jeonghan was silent at that, you elbowed him.
“Jeonghan.” The man in question said briefly, not paying him the reaction Sehun wanted from him.
“Jeonghan,” Sehun mused to himself, leaning back in his chair casually – one leg lifted gracefully over the over, “I suppose I owe the two of you thanks,” He hummed softly.
“I’m not sure what trouble Chanyeol found himself in, but I give my thanks that you at least returned him somewhat intact,” He continued with a fraction of amusement, “I’m not typically a man to repay kindness with anything other than that, but seeing the job you’ve done on him I suppose I can give you something.”
You imagined Sehun was a great actor when he wanted to be but now wasn’t the time, he was acting uncharacteristically childish – a far cry from the man you’d seen before.
“A favour,” Sehun said plainly, “For saving one of my men, I’ll grant the two of you a favour.”
“A favour.” Jeonghan reiterated plainly, “You’ll owe us a favour?”
“Issue?” Sehun’s eyes glinted slightly, the deep pools flicking to the only person that had a problem with him.
“Yes, there’s an issue,” Jeonghan snapped.
“Jeonghan,” You sounded shocked at the voice that came from him, realising the danger he could put himself in but you watched in bigger horror as a dark look fluttered over Sehun’s face, taking that mask he had on with it. There’s were a few tense seconds of silence before Sehun stood up from his desk.
Sehun squared his shoulder as he rounded his desk, the tick in his jaw twitching with his displeasure; a dark looking coloured his igneous eyes, a dark look directed at the two of you. There was a thick silence in the room as Sehun walked up to the two of you, dismissing you in the conversation completely to talk to Jeonghan, the latter of which being equally as ticked off as the perilous man he was confined in a room with.
“You should keep in mind who you’re speaking to.” Sehun tutted sarcastically, his eyes filtering down to his opponent; whom of which was a decent amount shorter than him not that the latter cared, “Better yet, you should keep in mind where you are.” You practically sweat dropped next to the two of them.
“And if I don’t?” Jeonghan challenged back, the testosterone practically suffocating in the room; but Sehun merely smirked, looking him up and down.
“I don’t think you want to be in a position to find out what happens,” Sehun hummed as you caught sight of one of the smaller members of the gang from your peripheral touching the gun on his waist, “Not many have lived to tell the experience.”
Putting your hand between them, you eyed Jeonghan as you gave Sehun a small shove away; a very bold move on your part, but it didn’t stop their staredown.
“Stop it.” You hissed slightly at Jeonghan, eye’s hardening before you turned to the head man himself, “Stop it, we’ll take the favour.”
“Y/N” Jeonghan hissed, placing a hand on your arm to draw you back, but you merely pulled out of it; still facing Sehun, who only wore a smirk on his face.
“Enough,” You snapped softly as Sehun cut in.
“You heard the lady,” Sehun gestured to you, a darker amusement dancing in his eyes, “A favour for your good deeds.”
“A favour, I saved your-,” Jeonghan began before you snapped at him.
“Jeonghan, enough.” You tensed your jaw at him.
“Don’t be mistaken, kid” Sehun hummed, retreating to lean against the front of his desk, away from the brewing storm, “A favour is no easy way out, dare I say – even hard to come across”
“What do you mean,” Jeonghan frowned, the sound of a quiet sigh from Junmyeon the corner telling you that this probably wasn’t going to end well.
“You saved one of my men,” Sehun shrugged, “I owe you something, both of you” He glanced at the two of you.
“Such as…” Jeonghan glowered, not seeing the value in what he was offering; this time it was your turn to quietly sigh before you decided to answer.
“Probably whatever we want…” You grimaced slightly, the idea of asking them for anything tasting like ashes in your mouth.
“Within reason,” Sehun corrected with a chuckle, his arms very much crossed over his chest in a casual stance, as much as he enjoyed riling up Jeonghan; even knew that he was no threat.
“If I may,” Junmyeon piped up from his stance at the back of the room, “Sehun is right, a favour from us is nothing to be taken lightly…”
“It’s a tradition amongst us,” Junmyeon, ever the peacemaker continued, “One we normally reserve for our families but one we can pass on in moments of great exception.” Sehun rolled his eyes softly, your eyes catching his for a brief few seconds while Jeonghan locked with Junmyeon. “It’s a way of saying that we at Exodus are grateful for your efforts,” Sehun pipped in, looking slightly annoyed, “And in turn, we are indebted to you, the two of you.”
“You can bring it in yourself to be indebted to someone,” Jeonghan snapped slightly.
“Don’t push it,” Sehun snapped back, “I can easily decide to revoke it if you keep this up,”
“I’m not one of your men,” Jeonghan glared as you practically melted from stress beside them.
“If you were you would know to watch your tongue,” Sehun sneered in such a way, filled with such hate and authority, that you felt a chill run down your spine; even Jeonghan stopping to be quiet for a second, “Do not take my kindness for weakness, kid – If I wanted I could shoot you where you stand and no one would come looking.”
“Sehun,” Junmyeon warned, but he was ignored.
“You’re testing my composure,” Sehun spoke plainly as his eyes hardened, “And you are in no position to do so, so a word of advice? Bite your tongue before I decide that you don’t need it anymore.” Sehun’s words resonated a silence in the room that felt like winter had gotten through the front door.
Jeonghan was left a deadly look on his normally calm face, staring down the man who didn’t bother to look at him anymore; Sehun’s eyes set firmly on your form as he decided to speak again.
“Thank you,” He spoke honestly, “I’m aware you were in no position to help but myself and my men are glad you did” You merely just nodded at him, registering your thanks before you meekly smiled.
Glancing at the two of you again Sehun waved his hand, “Take your leave.”
His name died on your tongue slightly as you went to say something else, but you knew this wasn’t the time or place to ask anything – not with the ticking time bomb next to you. The two of you merely nodded as you turned around, Jeonghan wasting no effort to get out the room in a fuming mess, your own body trailing before him a few paces, Junmyeon at the door giving you a look as he spoke quietly.
“You have our thanks…”
This time he wasn’t cooped up in the compound, he was in the only place that he could feel at home – hundreds of floors above the world and nestled in the apartment than no one knew he owned. But regardless of this being home, Sehun found himself staring out the window of the apartment with an ache in his chest that didn’t feel like it belonged there – a dull throb in his chest as he looked out at the glinting lights, a reminder of all the things he owned in life.
He wasn’t a sentimental man, he nothing to be sentimental over; his life didn’t call for that, but as he sat on his floor staring out the window, he found himself reminded of his own loneliness. Sehun had so many secrets in life and no one to share that burden with, even now as he uncharacteristically sat on his floor; he longed for someone to share the moments of weakness he did feel with. It had been a messy week for him, from a botched mission that resulted in one of his best men being put out of commission to another break-in at his weapons depo; Sehun had a thoroughly terrible week. His life was still on the line wherever he seemed to go, mumblings of the new gang getting louder with each passing day to the point he knew his men would start questioning him soon; he was looking weak in their eyes, fragments of his business caving in on him and he was doing nothing to stop it – not like he could do much at the moment.
Sehun and his family were terrible people, everyone knew this, it was part of the job of being in the Oh family; to be a terrible person. And while he knew that some people would be rejoicing at the fact Exodus was taking an ego hit, Sehun could only feel the burdens of his failure and confusion.
“Father had it easy huh,” He spoke softly to himself, eyes glancing over to the small pooch that decided to join him, Vivi’s fur glowing in the nightlife as he nestled himself into Sehun’s outreached hand, “Where am I going wrong…”
Vivi only gave a small dog cry at his owner's apparent sadness, nuzzling into him to make it all go away but as cute as Sehun found the act; he was sobered by the fact that he could get no answers from the small dog.
“Junmyeon thinks I’m being reckless,” He spoke to Vivi, “Throwing a party while there’s a target on my life, but he’s missing the point.” He sighed softly.
“I can’t bring them out of their hole, so I have to bring them to me…” Sehun said quietly, “Even if it kills me, I can’t let what’s been built crumble to the ground, even if I don’t want it anymore.”
“I think that’s why I’ve connected with her,” Sehun screwed his face up, “That girl that Baekhyun as roped in.” Vivi tilted his head at that.
“I’ve always gone to people for escapes,” Sehun sighed, “Not to get help but to ignore the world for a while,” He wasn’t speaking to anyone at this point.
“First it was Jeonghwa, she’s been there for so long that she’s lost sight of what I was doing,” Sehun noted, “Now I’m being present with this new person, someone that hates me to my very core and I can’t help but feel like I want to chase her down.” Vivi let out a noise like he was trying to talk back.
“Goodnight Sehun…”
Sehun still felt his skin prickle at the thought of his name dropping from her lips days even after it happened; it had been a while since someone had so softly said his name – no ill intent or lust coating the words, just pure unaltered thanks coating the words like some sickly-sweet honey. He’d never admit he thought about her in a way that brought warmth to his chest, that he found the fondness she carried in her eyes tempting to him.
“It’s not about feelings,” Sehun tutted snapping himself out of it, “I don’t want that from her, I want an escape – someone who can remind me that my life isn’t all this.”
“I’m a selfish man,” Sehun frowned but it wasn’t a dig at himself, in his eyes; if he accepted it then it wasn’t a flaw.
“Should I feel this amused at the idea of using something up until there’s nothing left?” He asked nobody, “Should I find a pastime in turning people into nothing?”
“I am a horrible man,” Sehun sighed as he let silence envelope himself again.
His apartment was still, the only occupants were sat on the floor wondering why life had led them here, but Sehun could still find it in himself at least find amusement in his situation – life be dammed or not.
“Maybe I’ll do something I’ll regret, but maybe it might mean something more…”
No one was home when the envelope was slid carefully under her door, the off cream paper skidding across the wooden floor like butter and not even she had expected to see something so formal sitting at her feet when she returned home from work that night; a frown lacing onto her face as she plucked the thing from the ground like a flower.
With intricate handwriting and a wax seal, she found herself curious at who would leave her something to beautiful to read but as she opened what she thought was going to be a letter; her face paled slightly at the card instead.
“You are warmly invited to a night of festivities, courtesy of Exodus…”

⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
You scanned through the stacks of boxes of supplies when your eyes landed on the box with the label ‘cardboard cup holders’ on the edge of the top shelf. You tippy toed to reach the top but had to use. Letting out a grunt, you tried again and again but failed every time. You hopping as your hand got a quick grip of the box and pulled it outward. You did this again as it shifted outward every time with every hop. You were already out of breath from hoping and pulling but with the last hop, the box finally came out of the top shelve, but also your hands as the shelf shook. You caught it as you tumbled backwards before you fell, as some boxes on the the shelf fell. You heard rapid footsteps before Wonwoo appeared at the entrance of the storage room and rushed to your side.
“Are you okay?’ His eyes enlarged as they scanned over you body for any injuries. Your grip was tightly around the box as you let out a soft chuckle. “I got it.” You breathlessly whispered. Wonwoo didn’t say anything as he got back up with a small sigh and picked up the boxes that have fallen. They both of you worked in silence as you would glance over at him time to time, seeing him wipe the counters and coffee machines.
‘What’s with the sudden change of mood?’ You thought to yourself as your cleaned the kitchen and wiped the cutlery. You were finally finished with everything as you headed to the lockers where you saw Wonwoo taking off his apron. You quietly walked to your locker beside him as you do the same.
“You shouldn’t overwork yourself.” You heard him speak behind his opened locker door as you stopped at your moments. “I don’t know what you’re saying, I’m fine.” You replied as your folded your apron. “Stop acting all strong and tough.” He closed the locker door, facing you. “Can’t you see I’m-” “You’re injured and you’re not fully recovered.” His voice was stern as his eyes looked down at yours. “What if I just don’t want to show my weakness?” you scoffed as you wore your jacket. He rolled his eyes. “But you don’t have to push yourself to prove others you’re fine.” he said as you closed your locker before meeting his eyes. “I’ve been in the hospital and in the dorm for the past 8 months without stepping outside. I feel so locked in and suffocated that I can’t do anything. Do you know how useless I feel whenever I see my members leave for practices or performances where they have to cover for my parts and work twice as hard to fill my spot? I’m not trying to prove anything to anyone, Wonwoo. I’m trying to prove to myself that I’m not nothing for the past 8 months and that I’m healing.” You replied before loosening your hair from the updo its in. “It wouldn’t matter to you anyways.” You hung your bag over your shoulder before walking pass him, only to be stopped by his hand around your arm.
“Wait.” there was heavy silence between the two of you as neither of you moved. His hand was lightly gripped around you arm but for some reason, you didn’t fall back your arm. It felt nice. “I’m sorry.” you turned around to look at him as he hung his head low. He loosened his grip around your arm. He slowly lifted his head before looking into your eyes with sincere apologizes. You’ve never seen his eyes so soft, making you melt into them deeper and deeper by the second. “It’s okay.” You managed to bring yourself together as you looked to the side. The two of you stood faced to faced, in awkwardness, not knowing what to say after the apology. “Well then, I’ll be going then.” “Y/N!” His voice made you stop at your steps as you head him walk in front of you. “There’s somewhere I want to bring you.”
- a few days ago -
“I’m ordering take-out! Is there anything-” Dino’s sentence was cut of by the orders of his members overlapping each other. He started looking back and forth, trying to listen in to every of their orders. “Just type it down.” Jeonghan lazily said while lying on the floor. All the boys had no personal or group activities that day as they took the chance to just stay at home and be homebodies for the day. “I’ll take a hamburger.” Wonwoo added his order as Dino nodded before heading to his room to call in the orders. The boys were scattered in the living room, either chatting or playing on their phones. “Hey hyung, did you visit Y/N yet?” Minghao asked after he finished his race of KartRider with Wonwoo and a few others. “No, not yet.” He restarted another game, focusing his attention in his race “Well, are you going to pay her a visit? She’s probably at her dorm, knowing that her members and manager won’t allow her to live the house until she’s fully recovered.” Minghao laughed as he drifted his vehicle on an sharp turn. “Maybe you should bring her to your favorite spot.” Minghao randomly suggested, throwing Wonwoo off as he ended up placing second.
“You mean the spot?” Jun lowered his phone and looked at Wonwoo with widen eyes. Wonwoo lets out a sigh as he fell back on the cool wooden flooring. “Even we haven’t been there....” Hoshi pouted. Minghao looked down on his members, trying to figure out what he’s feeling. “What do you say? Maybe you can set up a little picnic and-” Minghao started giving out ideas, only to be cut off by the rest of his members. “And then maybe way the sunset with her!” “And then see the night skies and stars-” “She might get cold during the night and then you can take off your jacket and place it over her shoulders-” “And then the two of you will face each other, inches about as your eyes travel down her lips-” “As you look up, you see her eyes flutter close and you slowly move closer to her lips unt-” All the boys started acting out their imagination as they started fanboying over the possibility from their emotionless and cool member
“HELLO? AH HELLO MR. BOSA. OH NO, IT’S JUST REALLY LOUD WHERE I AM SO I CAN’T REALLY HEAR YOU PROPERLY, LET ME MOVE SOMEWHERE MORE QUIET.” Wonwoo’s phone started ringing as he quickly answered it, never feeling more thankful to have a phone call come in at the right time. He shot all his members death glares as he stood up before walking down the hallway “You sound like you’re quite busy. I apologize for interrupting your schedule.” “No worries. I’m not busy at the moment. I’m just with my members.” Wonwoo still felt his cheeks heated from his members’ extreme imagination. “I’m just calling in to see if you’ll be busy in the next couple of days? Ms. Bosa and I might need to go out to pick up some new supplies but we won’t know until the day of. Is it possible for you to step in while we’re gone? We’ll call in a couple of hours before we leave so it’s not too last minute.” “For sure. Just call in and I’ll head over.” “Thank you so much Wonwoo. We were planning on calling Y/N too see if she’s available since she’s been discharged from the hospital- say, have you seen or visited Y/N since?” He questioned as Wonwoo falls into guilt from what he did the last time he spoken to you. “U-Uh, no I haven’t.” He stuttered upon his words as he heard a chuckle on the other side of the call. “You haven’t as in you’re too scared to visit her or what?” he remained silent, not knowing what to say in such awkward situation. “Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. Thanks for the last minute help Wonwoo.” Wonwoo hung up and lets out a sigh
“Was it the cafe?” He turned around and saw Seungcheol leaning against the wall. "Huh? Something like that.” “You don’t sound too happy about it.” Seungcheol questioned “No, it’s just that Mr. Bosa called to see if I work come into work in the next couple of days.” “And...?” Wonwoo’s eyes shifted to meet his hyung, confused on whether he’s just questioning or he heard the whole phone conversation “And he asked if I visited Y/N recently.” He ended up explaining. “See? Even the whole world knows you haven’t visited Y/N!” the leader dramatically exclaimed. “Okay, okay. I’ll pay her a visit in a few days.” Wonwoo lowly whined as he ran his hand through his hair and walked into his room before falling onto his bed, arm over his forehead.
‘I should really apologize to Y/N for what I said back then shouldn’t I. But it’s not like I can do much.’ He finds himself tossing and turning, fighting between his thoughts as he finally came to an conclusion on what to do.
- end -
- earlier in the day -
Wonwoo got up earlier than usual, feeling a little fidgety has he had a special plan today. He quickly got cleaned up before packing up some blankets, extra sweaters/hoodies and some warmers, stuffing them into his duffle bag. It was still quite earlier in the morning but majority of his members where wide awake, and extremely energetic which was no surprise to him. He strolled out of his room, somewhat in a hurry before knocking on one of his member’s door.
“Joshua hyung?” he turned the nob and found his fellow member gaming with his headphones on. He saw him awake at this odd hour as he brought down his headphones, looking at him in a confused manner. “What’s up? And why are you awake so early? Don’t you normally wake up in the late afternoon during our free day?” Wonwoo looked around the room, not knowing how to reply. “Uh... you know that picnic bag you bought online? Could I borrow it?” He asked as Joshua raised his eyebrow. “Yeah sure. Are you going somewhere?” Wonwoo mentally groaned “You could say that.” He kept his answer short. “So, where is it?” “It’s somewhere in the storage or laundry room.” He said with a pause afterwards. “You know what, I’ll get it for you.” He took off his headphones and walked out of his room, Wonwoo following behind, sensing something off. He followed pass the open area of the living room and kitchen where to his surprise all his members where. Joshua came to a stop in the middle.
“*ahem* I have a special announcement to make.” the boys turned to face him standing in the middle. Wonwoo, who caught on the disaster that was about to happen, hastily ran up to him “Josh don’t-” “WONWOO IS FINALLY ASKING Y/N ON A DATE.” the words already left his lips. Wonwoo ran up beside him where all the members shifted their attention to him, exchanging shocked expressions before screaming in unison “Look! Let me explain!” Wonwoo frantically tried to explain but his members were clearly distracted by their celebration “Okay, okay, lets have Wonwoo explain to us his plan. Walk us through every detail. Do you need visual examples? Seungkwan and I are born for this moment, just give us a cue and we’ll reenact for you.” Dokyeom said after their session of cheering. Wonwoo stood there, lost in words before shaking his head, finding the right word to explain without having his members throw another celebration. “I’m going to apologize to Y/N.” He stated as confusion were plastered across their faces. “Apologize? Why? Did something happen between you and Y/N within the past 8 months?” Mingyu asked out of the blue. “You could say that.” He rubbed his hand behind his neck, feeling a little embarrassed at himself. He looked to see the faces of his members and saw Minghao looking at him with a small smile and nod, telling him it’s the right thing to do. “I’ll take her to my spot and apologize to her. That’s it.” His members slowly nodded, understanding his actions. After taking the picnic blanket from Joshua, he went back into his room, changing into clothes to head out to prepare the set up when his phone vibrated as an incoming phone call.
“Wonwoo speaking.” “Hello? Ah, Wonwoo! How are you?” Mr.Bosa voice was heard across the line with Ms.Bosa’s voice in the background “I’m doing good, and you?” “I’m doing great. I was wondering if you could run the store as I head out with my wife?” “Um...” his traveled to his duffle bag on top of his bed. “Yeah I can step in for a bit.” “That’s great! Wait hold on- what? you already called her? Well, I’m calling him now. No, it’s okay, they haven’t seen each other in a while either way.” He somewhat hears the conversation between the couple, not putting much thought into it. “Sorry about that, Woo. Yeah, that’ll be awesome! You guys can close the store earlier if business is slow since we aren’t expecting much today either way. Thank you again!” He ended the call before staring back at his bag, wondering how his plan will go.
‘You guys?’ he thought to himself as changed his clothes for a more comfortable wear to work and headed out, bringing along his duffle bag.
Wonwoo was cleaning the counters of the coffee machines as he hummed to the music being played throughout the cafe as his pondered about to do know with what he had planned. He originally wanted to set up everything before visiting you bringing you to his spot but know that things aren’t going out as he wanted, he tried to think of something else when he heard the door open as the bell chimed.
“Welcome to Espresso Love Caf-” his words were cut off as he saw your figure, standing by the entrance, looking just as surprised as you were. None of you exchanges words as you walked to the back of the store as his eyes followed you, still shocked by your sudden appearance.
-
The two of you stood faced to faced, in awkwardness, not knowing what to say after the apology. “Well then, I’ll be going then.” “Y/N!” His voice made you stop at your steps as you head him walk in front of you. “There’s somewhere I want to bring you.” You looked up to him, trying to see if this was one of his little pranks. But to your surprise, his eyes were softly looking down at yours, almost if he was sincere about it. “What do you mean?” He looked away from you, biting on his lip “You’ll see.” And with that, he took a hold of your wrist, locking the store from behind as the both you walked to wherever he was taking you. Your steps followed from behind as you took in the image of his broad back before landing on the duffle bag that was hung on the other side of his shoulder, questioning what could be. The both of you ended up in a comfortable silent, walking down the sidewalk of a road on a hill. “Isn’t this the place....” familiarity hits as the you recall that time when you were humming while looking out on the view. Wonwoo lets out a soft smile before heading in between two fences and onto a rough path into small forest. “Why do I feel like I’m voluntarily being kidnaped.” You nervously laughed as you walked deeper into the woods, Wonwoo’s hand still around yours. He didn’t say anything and continued walking, making you feel even more uneasy. “Hey, say something.... You’re making me feel uncomfortable.” You accidently tripped on branch, making you fall forward as you felt his grip around you wrist tighten as he pulled you. He quickly turned around, your head hitting on his chest.
“S-Sorry.” You quickly lifted your head and his grip loosened. “We’re almost there.” He turned and started walking until the end of the forest, leading to an opened field with flowers that outlooks the city. “We’re here.” He turned around anticipating your reaction. “Wow...” Your jaw dropped as you slowly walked, looking around. Wonwoo dropped his bag down on the middle of the field and took out a picnic blanket, setting it out. “What are you doing?” “Setting up a picnic.” He said and started bringing things out of his bag. “Aren’t you going to sit down?” He looked up at you as you stood there, in confusion. You blinked a couple of times before nodding, taking a seat beside him. You both stare out on the evening sky that displayed beautiful shades of red, orange, yellow and pink, making you feel relaxed and at ease as you pulled your knees to chest, letting out a sigh. “This view just clears the mind and takes away all the worries.” You hummed. Wonwoo, who was sitting beside with his legs crossed and his hands supporting behind stared out at the view. “Y/N.” He sudden called your name. Your lifted you head from your knees, turning to face him as his eyes darting away from yours. “I’m sorry.” Your eyes widen from his apology. “I’m sorry for what I said back at the hospital and what I said today...” He trailed off at his words. He couldn’t look you in the eyes, and started look down at his fingers, playing with them in nervousness. “I didn’t mean the words I said.” He bit his lip before finding the courage the look at you. You stared at him, trying to find the words to say.
“It’s okay.” you said after a period of silence. “I know you only meant well. I know I can be arrogant sometimes and overestimate myself, making a fool out of myself.” He quietly listened as you sighed and looked back out at the view. “Your words, it stayed with me for a while. In a way, it brought sense to me that I’m human too and that I have my limits also. So thanks, thanks for bringing some sense to me when I needed it.” You smiled. It was true that his words were harsh at first but as time past, you realized that what he said was only because he cared and it was his way of caring which is something that is hard for him. “This is my favorite spot.” you tilted your head and looked over at him. “I always find myself coming here whenever I’m full of thoughts or worries or just need some air.” “So like your secret hide-out?” “You could say that.” The both of you chuckled before silence fell again.
“You know, for the past couple of months, it was extremely hard for me. I went through a roller coaster of emotions, feeling like nothing and useless to my members. It’s difficult seeing them needing to work harder to fill in my empty spot and that I couldn’t do anything but sit and watch. I fell into a darkness, hiding from my members because they already have so much on their plate with my absence. It’s like I don’t even know who and what I am anymore.” You stared out. Wonwoo looked at you, hearing your difficulties brought shock to him. Though you may be quiet, you were known to be uplifting, bright and optimistic to your fans, members and even the boys so hearing this was sure a surprise to him. “Sometimes fighting with myself and having everything bottled up can be tough sometimes, you know?” Wonwoo shifted closer to you, with soften eyes. “Sometimes I just want to scream, give up and just stop everything.” He slowly lifted his hand over your head, thinking over his actions if this is okay. ”Sometimes I just want someone to pat-” His hand lowered, patting your head as you stopped at your words, at surprise but didn’t turn to look at him. Wonwoo lightly patted your head as you tried your best to blink back the tears foaming in your eyes. “-Sometimes I just want someone to pat my head, telling that I did a good job and that I’ll be okay. But then again, I don’t want to be a burden.” You finished off, with your voice wavering.” “I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were going through this.” You felt guiltiness in his voice. “I....I don’t know what to say....” you looked at him as he stopped patting your head. “You’re always smiling. Whether it be with your fans or members. You’re just.... always smiling brightly.” He mumbled the last part, making you giggle. “But you shouldn’t feel burden. You and your members are like a family, no? I’m sure they’re just as worried as you are. But at the same time, I’m sure they’re so proud of you that you’re getting through this and that you’ll come back stronger than ever.” You looked up at him, meeting his eyes. “Well... At least for me, I know you’ll going to come back stronger than ever.” You broke out into a smile as you felt your heart glow. “It’s been a while since I saw you smile like this.” His leaned towards you as you closed your eyes. You felt his light touch, brushing the hairs out of your face from the evening breeze. You opened your eyes as he straight right into yours, feeling a tingling sensation between the two of you. It’s always as if the both of you snapped back to reality and he quickly jerked his hand back as you sit back straight, looking away from each other. “S-So... Do you bring your members here as well?” You asked, trying to find a new topic to talk about. “No. You’re the first.” Your heart started racing. “This is the place I wanted to bring you. I thought it’ll help with relieving some stress and all. It’s a peaceful quietness.” He explained as you nodded. “Thanks for bringing me here, Wonwoo. This has definitely took the weight off my chest. After saying everything that’s been on my mind and watching the sunset, I feel soo much lighter and refreshed.” You smiled. “That’s a relief.” The sun was almost done setting as the both of you cherish the last bits staring out into silence. For some reason, it felt like you were both able to connect through the silence, making you feel a sense of home.
“Are you feeling hungry?” He asked, as the night sky started to fill. “Very.” He chuckled as he unzipped his duffle bag, bringing out a stack of containers and opening it. It was filled with side dishes and dishes that you automatically knew was made by his aunt. “My aunt came to drop off some dishes yesterday so I decided to bring it here. I hope you don’t mind that it’s not fresh and all.” “Not at all. You know sometimes food eaten the next day is more delicious.” You smiled as he passed you utensils the both of you started eating, as he picked up some side dishes and putting it on your bowl of rice. You giggle before doing the same to him. After dinner, you stretched out your arms over your head, letting out a long sigh. Wonwoo was laying down beside you, looking at up at sky. “Lie down. You can see the stars.” He patted the spot beside him as you scooted over before lying down. “Have you star gazed before?” “I’ve studied it a bit out of curiosity but never really done it in real life. It’s difficult seeing the stars in a city.” You saw Wonwoo smile in the corner of your eyes. “You can see the big dipper here.” Your eyes started wandering, trying to trace the stars for the shape. “It’s over there.” “Where?” “There.” he pointed up but you could seem to find it. “There?” you pointed, trying to following his direction. “No, there. Do you see it?” He took a hold of your wrist, tracing the shape. Your eyes looked at him in shock. “I-I see it.” You stuttered. “Oh! and that’s the little dipper!” You excited pointed at it, smiling widely.
You sat back up, taking it a sip of the warm coffee as goosebumps started growing on your skin from the night breeze. You shivered a bit, scolding yourself for not bringing a jacket. Wonwoo got up as well, digging something in his bag before handing you his sweater. “I brought it just in case.” You took it. “It seems like you need it.” You hesitated at first, deciding if it was the right thing to wear it or not. “Thanks.” You put it over your head, struggling to find the holes for the arms. You heard Wonwoo laugh before guiding your arm through the sleeves and pulling it down your head, making your hair all friction and static from the inside. He started laughing from the sight of your hair going in all directions. You look at him, in confusion, laughing along even though you didn’t know the reason. “You hair is all static.” He started patting down your hair with a smile. You cheeks started tinting pink, but thankfully it was dark even to hide your blushing face. “It’s huge on you.” You lifted your arms seeing that the sleeves were covering you hands. “It’s alright.” You mumbled. The two of you remained quiet, taking sips of coffee while exchanging short conversation here and there, enjoying and silent presence of one another.
“What time is it?” You questioned, wondering how long you’ve been here for. Wonwoo pulled out his phone, showing you the time as you eyes widen. “We’ve been here for that long?!” You took out your phone and saw ‘13 missed calls.’ “Looks like your members are worried about you.” He must’ve saw, making you embarrassed. “Maybe we should head back before they call the police reporting you kidnapped.” He got up, offering you a hand. You grabbed onto it as he pulled you up before you helped up clean up. “I mean if you think about it, you did kidnapped me in a way.” You spoke as the two of you walked back to your dorms. Your shoulder would brush against his arm time to time, making your heart flutter. “In my defense, you didn’t do anything. So you involuntary agreed” You laughed, nodding your head. “You have a point. I’ll give you that one.” You reach the street of your dorms, feeling a little disappointed for some reason. “Thanks for today Wonwoo. It really means a lot to me.” You stopped and turn to face him. You were a few houses away from your dorm but you didn’t want to leave just yet. “No worries. I felt kind of bad not visiting you while you were in the hospital.” He rubbed his hand behind his neck, looking away, feeling ashamed. “I don’t blame you.” You shrugged your shoulders as he raise his eyes from the ground. “Guess, I’ll have one more reason to hold something against you.” He eyes widen before the two of you laughed. “Today was memorable though. I got to see a new side of you and I’m.... I’m thankful for that.” You could see his face blushing from the dimmed street lights. “I could say the same to you.” He smiled. He opened his mouth, about to say something when his phone rang. He pulled it out, as the caller ID showed one of his member’s name. “Hello?”
“So are the both of you going to just stand there and melt into each other’s eyes or are you going to go home? My storage is running out on my phone and Hoshi won’t stop narrating this scene, it’s killing me.” Mingyu’s voice was heard on the line with Dokyeom’s and Dino’s singing background music in the back. The both of you looked forward, seeing his dorm’s window opened with Mingyu holding a selfie stick and the heads of the boys, popping out. He ended the call behind stuffing his phone back into his pocket. “I’m never going to hear the end of this when I get home. Are you down for a late night runaway?” He questioned as you chuckled. Just then, your phone started ringing. “I’m almost home.” “We can clearly see that. But the question is IF you’re going to come home because I think you’re too occupied, swimming into your lover boy’s eyes.” You saw your members sticking out their heads of the entrance. You turned to look at Wonwoo with panicked eyes. “So, about that late night runaway suggestion....” The both of your broke out into a huge laughed, cherishing the last bits of the moments before hiding home.

When you’ve never been kissed (GIF Reactions)
Requested ♡
↳ When you haven’t kissed anyone before dating them, and they’re going to be your first kiss
Seungcheol:
Seungcheol would be super sweet when he found out you hadn’t had your first kiss. He might tease you a little bit, but only because he thinks you’re soo adorable when you get frustrated with him. Seungcheol would take things slow and wouldn’t rush you, not wanting to force you into anything. Even if there were opportune moments to kiss you, he would want you to make the first move so that he would know that you’re completely comfortable with the situation. When you do finally move in to kiss him, he’ll kiss you back so, so sweetly, resting one hand on the back of your head softly.
Jeonghan:
Jeonghan would be cocky about being your first kiss. He would often tease you until you blushed bright red, getting satisfaction from knowing he could make you feel so flustered. He might pretend like he's about to kiss you on several occasions, leaning in so close you can feel his breath against your lips and looking into your eyes intensely, before pulling away and chuckling at how rosy your cheeks became. He’d wait until either you had had enough of his teasing and you kissed him yourself, or until he couldn’t resist you any longer.
Joshua:
Joshua would be quite shy when it comes to kissing you. He doesn’t have much experience, either, and he would want to make sure that your first kiss went perfectly. He might try to plan specific events that might lead to a kiss, such as going to a fireworks show and sitting close to you, far away from any other viewers, or watching your favorite movie with you, cuddled up with you under a warm blanket in the dark. I can see him tentatively asking permission to kiss you before going for it, not wanting to force you if you weren’t ready.
Junhui:
Junhui might act super confident and sure of himself, but he would be a mess when it came to kissing you for the first time. The thought of being your first kiss would make him incredibly nervous, and he wouldn’t want to give you a bad first kiss experience. He might seem standoffish for a while after he found out, acting almost as though he didn’t want to touch you at all, but it’s only because he’s so anxious about kissing you. When it came time to finally kiss, he might back away a few times due to breaking out into giggles in an attempt to calm his nerves. This boy would be such a phenomenal kisser, and kissing him for the first time, and getting to experience such saccharine sweetness, would replay in your head for a looong time after it happened.
Soonyoung:
Although Soonyoung would be nervous about being your first kiss, he would be pleased that he would be the person you would be having that experience with. I don’t think Soonyoung would be too over-the-top romantic, but he would make sure that your first kiss happened either in a place that was meaningful to the both of you, or during a moment where the both of you were completely relaxed and happy. Before kissing you, Soonyoung would kiss your cheeks and then giggle, before kissing you all over your face repeatedly until you managed to tell him to stop in between giggles. As the two of you caught your breath a bit, he would pause, staring deeply into your eyes before gently pressing his lips to yours, taking your breath away again.
Wonwoo:
Wonwoo would be fairly chill when you told him that he was going to be your first kiss. He would be pretty confident in himself, albeit a little nervous about making sure the experience was anything but awkward for you. Wonwoo would set up a gaming night or movie night with you with the intent of kissing you. The lights would be low and you would be distracted by whatever was on the screen, and he would run his finger along your cheek before gently grabbing your chin and pulling you into a sweet, soft kiss.
Jihoon:
Jihoon would be as shy as you are about kissing. Considering his inexperience, he would want to make sure it was the perfect moment to kiss you when you two finally did kiss. Perhaps you would be in the studio with him listening to some song demos he was working on, and the two of you would be sitting so close you could feel electricity course through your body when your elbows brushed against each other, and he would finally turn to you and lean in slowly, gently kissing you for the first time. Or, you could be walking around the city at night, the distant lights sparkling and the trees rustling softly in a gentle breeze, and he would stop, telling you how beautiful you look that night before capturing your lips with his. Jihoon might not be interested in sappy, romantic settings, but he would want your first kiss to be memorable nonetheless.
Seokmin:
Seokmin would be soo flustered after learning you hadn’t had your first kiss, and he was going to be the one you would have that experience with. He would want to get the first kiss over quickly because he finds you irresistible, and he wants to kiss you as often as he can, but he would still wait until a good moment comes up where the two of you are comfortable. Seokmin would probably kiss you the first good opportunity that comes up, fingers tangling in your hair and pulling you in for more many times after your first kiss, even if he becomes a blushing mess afterwards.
Mingyu:
Mingyu would be sooo sweet about being your first kiss. He wouldn’t tease you about it and he wouldn’t put any pressure on you, refusing to kiss you until you were completely sure you were ready. He would occasionally give you gentle forehead or cheek kisses to let you know he still wanted to kiss you, but he would let you make the first move to actually kiss him. Although he wouldn’t make the first move, he would try and create many opportunities for you to feel comfortable enough to kiss him, such as many movie nights where you’re all snuggled up together, or long walks along the water or through parks at night, under the stars, standing close enough together that you could keep each other warm. I can see him cupping your cheeks in his hands when you finally kiss him, or resting his hands on your lower back and nuzzling his nose gently against yours afterwards.
Minghao:
Kissing Minghao for the first time would probably be an ethereal experience. Even dating this man is an experience, and kissing him would be no different. Minghao would be nervous about kissing you, and would giggle his cute little giggle when you told him that he was going to be your first kiss. When he had worked up the courage to finally kiss you, he would prepare a lovely, romantic night to set the mood for the both of you. And I mean an elegantly set table with candles and perhaps a few rose petals strewn about the tablecloth romantic. After a wonderful dinner, he would bring you outside to look at the stars, holding your hand as he sat with you. After a minute or two of absentminded conversation, he would turn to look deeply into your eyes, bringing a hand up to softly cup your cheek. He would rub his thumb gently against your skin before leaning in and kissing you so, so softly. He would pull away quickly after, his cheeks turning bright red, but the feeling of his lips against yours would linger, causing butterflies to flutter in your stomach.
Seungkwan:
Seungkwan would be super nervous about being your first kiss, considering he has little experience with kissing himself. He might try to set up a cheesy romantic date with you to try and set the mood, but end up getting too flustered when the two of you got close enough to kiss. You would probably have to be the one to lean in and capture his lips with yours, considering he’ll likely be too mystified by your beauty to calm himself enough at first. Once you’re kissing, though, he’ll be soo sweet, and he’ll want to kiss you many time again after the two of you pull away the first time.
Hansol:
Hansol would become quite nervous after finding out you hadn’t had your first kiss yet. He would likely wait quite a while before kissing you, maybe a couple months, just to make sure the two of you were ready. When the two of you do finally kiss, it will likely be while you’re chilling together, watching a movie in the dark or laying around playing on your phones. Hansol would suddenly lean over, kissing your cheek gently. When you turned to look at him in surprise he would lean in and kiss your lips, one of his hands moving to get tangled in your hair. The two of you would kiss for a long, long time once you finally did kiss, unable to get enough of you now that you had passed beyond the slight awkwardness of your first kiss.
Chan:
Chan would be pretty cheeky about being your first kiss. Even before the two of you kissed, he would randomly state how lucky he is to be your first kiss when the two of you are just chilling together, just to see if he could make you flustered. Despite not having much experience, he would be confident and would want to kiss you quickly so the two of you could move on to more, ehem, intense things. He wouldn’t rush you into it before you were ready, of course, but if he saw an opportunity and you had already told him you wanted to kiss him for sure, he would absolutely take it. Even if it’s after something simple, like you acing a test you were worried about, or winning a game the two of you had been playing, he would take you into his arms and give you a lovely, quick first kiss, preventing either of you from becoming too nervous beforehand.
