btw i beat Another Crab's Treasure tonight*, and got the few remaining achievements i was missing (mostly just buying shells and activating Gun(TM), but apparently i had missed an optional boss in the grove too)

it's extremely good. it's a game about growing up in a world where nothing is fair, and the desperate struggle and rage that builds from that. maybe you can't fix the big stuff, but it's still worth helping where you can, rather than closing yourself off from the world. sometimes things don't work out, and people get hurt, but even at your most hopeless you need to keep pushing.

that's contrasted by the tone, which is usually tongue-in-cheek and/or straight up goofy, even in easy to miss background details. (some personal favorites: the CND Pharmacy receipt walkways with the subheading "CNDeez nuts gottem", the Gain dish soap parody called Loss with the decorative leaf graphics on it forming loss.jpg, and how Elden Bay seasoning has 62% daily value for sodium for only 1/4 tsp servings)

it's also arguably the best entry-level soulslike out there. i've only played 2 others, but ACT was far easier, and that was at the default hard difficulty. i didn't really mess with them outside of the gun achievement, but there's an entire section in the settings menu dedicated to fine tuning the difficulty down into whatever you need. or, again, you can take a gun that 1-shots everything, including the final boss' phases. it's funny EVERY time and the feature should be in more games.

also, Kril is just damn cute, and you can put an LGBT+ flag on him. 11/10 game.

Summary of Art 2024 before NY's?! Crazy!! Happy Holidays~

For the last 4 years (more mindfully and successfully the last two), instead of yearly goals/ resolutions I've been setting "mindsets". Making art is a process of expressing my soul burning bright, with whatever fuels it at the time, so taking care of my body and mind has been essential in keeping the relationship healthy, happy and on the dance floor. I am pretty sure I've noted somewhere what I wanted to do this year project wise (or it was so intense it got printed on my brain), which was finish at least one project and find my answers on what it means to me to "want" and "have to". The latter is still a wip, but more on that on the DW entry under the cut, hehe~

::Quick Summary

January, February, March: Mostly messing around doodling and half-jokingly working on skull-anatomy because I was busy out of my mind studying & working on a long project || April: Project working, moved to my village to focus, played The Sims2 after over a decade, paperwork hell, streaming nights~ || May: Major win!! project finish, Convention Time! || June: Moved out & patiently building energy lvls again.. 🐚 || July: Picked up the pencil & drew a bunch of Sephiroths in my sketchbook, read books, physio </3 || August: Going on a skull-spree!! (also still a wip but I'll learn to draw faces no matter what!!) || September: Chaniartoon Fest, sketches, paintings, wips, making buttons for the first time and as if all weren't enough-- baked banana bread(s) and went off to get the Open Water cert. after so many years (／ˍ・、) || October: drawing for my friends gives me life and is the best thing I've done this month ♥ || November: con prep, back to class while simultaneously working, zine work, dog-sitting!! || December: work, zine, homework, loads loads LOADS of music?! ♥ (((*°▽°*)八(*°▽°*)))

Thank you for a "do-it-scared" year 🌱 Some kind of leap-of-faith on it's own.. ✸ Wishing everyone health & strength to overcome any challenge 2025 has in its sleeve. May you indulge in what makes you happy ♥

Fun facts:

Started reading literature this year. Had a blast (and got blasted, in multiple ways).

In one of my dives (scuba) I threw up in the sea in front of a tourist boat, those that have glass bottoms. No one will forget that at the centre. I got the reputation now.

Omg I hope you're not overthinking this, because your art is wonderful, and I get you on shapes being hard!! and getting someone's likeness being hard, body type included, augh. It's scary when you know people can interpret Shapes Being Hard as you having the wrong image of a character, perhaps even out of maliciousness (!). Feel free to ignore the unsolicited "advice" of the rest of this ask, even delete the ask if I'm bothering you , I hope I'm not <3 But I think even if his tummy isn't visible you should make him just more broad in general. I get your intention soo much, but he definitely isn't broader on the shoulder area than the rest of his body I think, he's just broader in general than Crowley is, from any view. If you look at the photo where they're both standing together holding hands (I googled Aziraphale full body loll 😭) you can see that he's just... broad the whole way down if that makes sense. And if you look at the part where they're eating ice cream body swapped he looks broader from a more side view too. Anyway it's fine if this doesn't help at all either haha. Just wanted to say again that I love your art <3

I had to look up that picture of them holding hands immediately LMAOOOO anyway yes you're right, mr michael sheen has quite narrow shoulders and then the lines of his body sort of just go straight down from there hahaha! in my drawing I accidentally gave him more of a triangle body shape.

I moved the seam of his trousers here (in my slightly unfinished lineart left in my files) and that alone gives an impression of general broadness already! it'll be fun drawing aziraphale again in the future, one of the reasons I love drawing is little problem-solving moments like these!
