Aha! I've expected as much, they usually release a regular episode or a Remaster. It's been a while since they've done one of these, I honestly thought we were going to get one during the Puzzle Park arc, which of course didn't happen.

Another pleasant episode. It's really fun to see how much the Team has improved over the years while still being the show. It is a remaster so it's pretty much the same storyline, but the animation and editing and voice acting and so much more. Go show some appreciation for the Team!!

As much as I'm here for the loreeeeeeeee, I wouldn't mind if the rest of the year is just filled with silly episodes. it's the silly meme show after all... but Team, was it really necessary to remind me that these characters had trauma from previous episodes? well, guess what? it's day of the dead for me so your plan failed aha!!! /silly

Yeah, I do look too much into stuff sprinkled in the background or the episode in general, it's kinda my thing. Don't mind me overanalyzing the bingo numbers from the last episode. Anyway, it was nice of Ben (the thumbnail artist) to show some of the behind-the-scenes.

Hey, in your Fairy Tail story, when natsu and gajeel fight the twins, could the natsu and gajeel lose? honestly, I was disappointed Natsu defeated those two easy, I get it was supposed to be a "comeuppence", but it wasn't as fun as the fight between Elfman and Bacchus. In fact, is the whole tournament arc going to be reworked, the whole dragon situation seems overkill and pointless.

I was thinking abt rouge and sting so here

I want to hammer home the power of friendship and themes of celebrating differences and second chances

So to me, sabertooth was a v uniform guild, they all were trained in their specific magics and paths but it's v ridged and by the book ig?

V military esque

Bc of sting and rouges magic being so niche and so similar while being opposites, they were only ever taught to fight together in near perfect unison

Their moves sets are all the same and any combos are predictable after the first few times and if you separate them, they fall back on very basic moves

They're a set that need to be together in order to win

Meanwhile natsu and gajeel work together *because* of their differences

They make random plans on the fly and barely practice anything together, they don't train together at all but due to heightened dragon slayer senses they're good at staying out of the others way or figuring out what the other is planning

They embrace their differences and once they figure out all of sting and rouges' movesets gajeel is fr like damn it's not fun if I know what they're gonna do, I'm gonna sit this out

Bc go me gajeel is more adrenaline junkie, he liked crazy unpredictable fights, nothing boring

So natsu is like damn ur gonna make me do all the work??? Fuck u???

And by then sting and rouge r tired bc they aren't good at pacing themselves in fights, they threw out their strongest moves first and the ones that hit didn't do as much as they're use to on normal wizards

It all comes down to them not being as experienced and relying too heavily on each other, leaving no space for imperfection so they aren't adaptable like natsu or gajeel

So natsu kinda just separates them with a fire wall type thing and clocks them individually

He starts with rouge since he can't do much with shadows with so much light and by the time sting and get to him he's already done

So that just leaves natsu w sting and he cleans up easy

Gajeel laughs at him like I could have taken them out without separating them loser and natsu gets all huffy like EXCUSE U

And yeah I hate the second half of the gmgs arc, it's lame I'm sorry idk how I'm gonna rewrite it but so much of it gets overhauled in my mind

this is so hard.. prospecitvely i want to say it will be The Shape of the Tide just because of how much of a journey it will take to get us there. but as of right now it might be You, Me, and Nick just because of how damn cozy it is.

i have written one (1) crossover. it was a percy jackson/harry potter next gen where the percabeth fam move to the uk and their son gets a letter from hogwarts. i was like 14/15 and gave up two chapters in because i couldn't figure out the conversion rates of american dollars to pounds to wizard money o7 (ftr i would totally write more. it can be so fun to play with characters like that and see how they interact etc.)

es a tie between percabeth (pjo) and sizzy (tsc). (some might determine from observing my blog (or sideblog) that it's actually just sizzy. but (a) i love them in different ways, (b) i don't recieve asks about percabeth, and (c) the scarcity of sizzy fan-content makes my heart act out the economic principle of supply and demand lol)

15. What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever wilI?

ivy.. i would love to see this story completed but unfortunately i no longer ship ghostwriter and even with reshaping the plot to change the endgame, i just don't feel like writing that much about jesse anymore.

16. What are your writing strengths?

i feel like i'm pretty okay at tackling complex emotions? i've also gotten comments on my imagery, voice, and characterizations.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

endings; it's the biggest critique i remember receiving in my college writing classes. i also feel like i have a tendency to get lost in the weeds sometimes, which results in too much narration. also just general confidence.. i get spooked really easily.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

it's fun if it's spanish! but so far that's the only other language i've written dialogue in.. (thank you, leo)

i actually think it may have been ella enchanted ? it was back on figment.com when i was 13-14 and was for some sort of challenge and i thought like ooh i can connect this with ella! (i was prob in my reading and rereading the book era) but it was super short and barely connected lol

gonna take a page out of lexi's book and split this between fandoms hehe

for tsc: Trying. i have found myself sitting at the top of my stairs ready to leave just rereading the first like 5k of this fic way too often. (it's also horribly the longest piece of writing i think i've ever finished. so it holds a special piece of proof to myself in it.. even if its only like 8k)

for pjo: Here Without You. there's an entire fraction of my soul tied up in this fic i swear. i'm never not thinking about it. it's been incredibly cathartic for me to write, both for myself and the characters (incl. calypso who i was not expecting to learn to appreciate/understand as much as i have)

the lighting in rivendell is very pretty

they didn't even say where they were, I admire their restraint.

Definitely bit of a hammock season, but a very good one overall. I felt like this should have been episode 9 and they DESPERATELY needed an episode before to bring everything up to finale time.  The final confrontation with sauron should have been maybe 50% less swordfightey and more mindfuckey. Overall a decent ending though!

Impression now: this is tough bc i've slooowly started replaying deadfire and i forget most of my impression of him 🤔 I remember thinking that he makes a lot of very funny snarky comments and I liked how they gave him nervous stims esp with his hands. he just seems so done with all the bullshit and i feel that. I do wish he still had some of that sweet ladness left under all that cynicism though... but I think Rake thinks it's a little sexy

Favorite moment: bruh he propositioned Rake in the bathhouse literal seconds before tekehu did... i've been wanting to write a fic about it. besides that, there was a bit in the first game where rake failed a str check and aloth also failed a str check to help him and dislocated his shoulder and I just thought it was so sweet :-) so little rng things i guess... although i do like the comment he makes after you kill the memory monster in the wael dlc

Idea for a story: ok ok u know how i do like. vignettes. well i've been wanting to replay deadfire and sloowly make a fic abt their relationship? starting with the first time they enter the bathhouse maybe ahaha it'll be more playful in tone. my writing's improved a lot since i started the rake series and I still think about one comment I got that said they were so glad i was writing because barely anyone else did male watcher/aloth... 💀 i wrote like. three things and i still feel guilty about it sometimes

Unpopular opinion: oo boy! i feel like i stay so far away from fandom that i dont know what anyone thinks anyways LOL. ig just a general thing for me which is I'm not really a fan of romance? shippy stuff kinda gives me the ick 😅 For characters like aloth (esp bc i. dont like men lmao) I'm mostly drawn to their vibes and personality, and I really liked his whole wizard deal plus iselmyr and the abusive dad backstory ; i feel like there's a LOT of potential to dive into how that affects him that no one really explores

Favorite relationship: with edér :)) just two good ol boys. i like how theyre pals

Favorite headcanon: oo i dont really make these for characters esp if I like canon. i guess i'd like to further expand on how iselmyr functions for him, esp since in game it doesnt seem to follow specific rules or guidelines. does she come out when he's triggered? does she come out just to yell at me for friendly fire or to be upset when my unkillable ghost dog dies? how did he learn to function well in combat if she delivers attacks sometimes ("i dinnae con the spellybooks" girledfriend then woter u doing here? 😔) i guess i'd headcanon that there'd be a learning curve, esp since his first instinct was to fight/suppress her 🤔

this is the gale album of all time. and i WILL elaborate. (also warning im only posting this because i have been obsessed with this fucking album and gale for a WEEK and need it out of my brain. im probably not going to explain too many lyrics and i get nervous expressing my ideas because tbf to me it seems quite obvious but ofc i can explain, assuming anybody reads this post)

"Concorde" immediately stood out to me like oh this is so gale. i dont even think i need to explain how gale this is. the rest of the song is super gale too, i just don't want to include screenshots of the entire song

"Bread Song" has a LOT of worship imagery and also below alluding to appearing fine but rlly inside he is not well <3

oh my god. "Good Will Hunting". the mentorship but also wanting her to depend on him a little but it's unfeasible, weaving a whole life in his head that can never be because mystra will never see him as an equal... also the pre-chorus 👍 i am so well

"The Place Where He Inserted the Blade" is more headcanon/my interpretation but im just gonna focus on the parts that i think everyone can agree on. first 2 lines arent super applicable to mystra but ig i can rationalize it as her being detached from the world/not rlly participating (i.e. why didnt mystra just stop the absolute herself (im aware its because ao doesn't like it when they meddle, im smoking that true forgotten realms pack trust me)). but the MAIN part of this song that is so gale to me is the vines breaking bones, bones heal, our school friends sign our cast on the playground, my body is yours. like holy shit being a chosen of mystra is a huge fucking deal and despite the pain it can cause (that he doesnt even notice because "tied me up slow with your vine stuff / it takes a few years") but it's definitely encouraged among wizards/mages in any circles he was in and by elminster ("we tell all our school friends / and they sign our cast in the playground"), then of course the last line breaks my heart. rest of the song is also rlly fucking good please listen to this album.

"Snow Globes" has more religious imagery but tbh i dont know precisely how i feel about it in relation to gale so im just gonna skip it

alsoooo should mention that i didn't include the part of "The Place Where He Inserted the Blade" that mentions a lunch metaphor in relation to panic attacks and possible cheating so the "feelin kinda normal with a packed lunch" is doubly meaningful, he isn't freaking out while making lunch anymore

this verse is tav (or whoever u romance as gale origin idgaf)/gale as he is trying to find a new object of devotion in his romance. "the clamp" could be many things, from reminders of mystra to all his perceived inadequacies to lost opportunity to become a god w/ the crown of karsus.

third section of the song im kind of undecided on w/ gale like we got the religious imagery again, could interpret "generous loan/crippling interest" as mystra's deal for him to return the crown of karsus in exchange for no orb. but yea idk yet

He developed a taste for chili a while back. More accurately, he thought he did and then he had chili that didn't come from Lin and was disappointed. His favorite chili is hers by far.

Jenelope knows she’s not a social butterfly like Winn or his partners or her wife. Even Craigory’s flourished under a wide network of friends. Jenny’s always been more to herself. That’s her nature, but still. Doubt can persist.

She hasn't really come up in Toonkind but Jenelope has a wife! Pennifer Nidalap. The portmanteau name is pure coincidence, promise they aren't related. Jenny's far more of a homebody herself but Pennifer is an active adventurer out slaying undead abominations and regaling her tales of glory in taverns and also extolling her wife.

Fun fact that similarly has not come up but IS hilarious- guild wizard leader Minerva Caine is a past flame. Craigory and Minerva both prefer to ignore this as best they can. They got MARRIED at one point, can you BELIEVE that? There was a ring and everything! Craigory was 16 and hated everything about it. Jenny threw out the ring. Minerva kept hers.

Man Jenny is NOT a main character, she didn’t get bit like Craigory on that one. She’s quite well happy for the moment to have honed and continue honing her craft. It was hard not to smile at her. The slight dusting of gold particles from Erica’s flashlight danced around behind you, Robin taking a good look at you in the low light.

Something in her stomach didn’t sit right thinking that this could be the last time you were together.

But if she had to go, this image was certainly something. Your hair (slicked/pulled) back, wearing baggy camo cargo pants, and a giant hunting bow slung over your shoulder.

As if knowing what she was thinking, you playfully nudged her crossed arms. “Hey, we’re gonna be alright.”

Erica’s voice came through clearly, telling you to move into phase 3 of the plan. Nancy and Steve nodded in your direction, the four of you marching across the broken street to the house.

You had only seen it in regular Hawkins, this twisted version rendering you speechless at the steps. It was always a large house, but something about this version seemed bigger. How it loomed over your small group with dark eye-like holes behind shuttered windows. What little light shone in this new personal Hell didn’t even dare to touch this house.

Four heartbeats began to sound like one, beating in unison, dreading the battle. Steve took a deep breath and opened the door.

Vines from the hive mind coiled and snaked around what seemed like every square inch of the foyer. A sickening sheen on the tar-like roots glinted in the light as your group stepped in carefully, one by one. Robin’s teeth practically held a death grip on her lower lip, opting to be the last one into the house. Her gaze followed you like a shadow before you turned to meet her eyes.

She stepped in, making all four of you nearly in position.

“We have to get upstairs, but with all of this… it’s going to be rough.” Steve whispered in your guys’ direction. “We have to be careful about this.”

“I don’t think I can do this.” Robin croaked out.

Just a glance and you could tell she was trying to swallow down a panic attack. Nancy’s solemn expression began to falter as she tried to think of ways to help. A way around it. But the plan was too complicated, it was all hands on deck. The lives of Hawkins — and likely the rest of the world — were at stake, and Vecna wouldn’t be going down without a fight.

A warm sensation filled the blonde’s senses, causing her to turn and look at you. Your bruised up (skin tone) hand held onto hers with a firm grip as you stared into the mangled foyer. The expression you held was confident, nearly happy, like you were watching something completely different than what lied ahead.

“Do you remember when we were in elementary school, and none of the other kids wanted to play with us?” Your bright (E/C) eyes caught hers. “The teachers got new packs of chalk, and everybody wanted to play hopscotch.”

The (taller/shorter) girl smiled sadly at the memory. “Yeah. What does this have to do with anything?”

“You tried to play hopscotch with them. Julie Hammond wanted you to play, too. And then do you remember what happened?”

Robin nodded, but couldn’t manage to say anything.

“You tried, but you fell and scraped your leg all up the side.”

Her fingers intertwined with yours, staring at the decaying floorboards of the Creel house. Nancy looked to Steve, confused, only to find he was as in the dark as her.

“You walked me to the nurse that day.” Robin began to lean closer to your face. “That’s how we became friends.”

“And then, do you remember what happened later? I was in my driveway, and asked if you wanted to play. We could’ve played house, or Barbies, or even animals. But you wanted to play hopscotch.”

Tears rolled down her paled face, though quickly being wiped away by your hand. For the first time in the past few weeks, she was smiling. Your girl was smiling.

“We must’ve spent, like, two hours outside while you did that. It was getting dark, and you were still bound and determined to do it — even with your messed up leg. And you finally did. You managed to do our ‘extreme hopscotch’ board without tipping over.”

“You hugged me so hard — we fell over into the grass.” Robin sniffled.

The other two in the group had begun to climb the rotting stairs, taking glances back every so often. Now you and Robin held both hands, her forehead resting on yours.

“Aren’t you scared?”

A snort sounded from you as you began to lead her over the vines. “Me? I’m nearly pissing my pants right now. But it doesn’t matter — what I’m saying is, it’s just like hopscotch.”

She took a slightly more confident step in your direction. Your bodies pressed closely, comfortably, as they shared the new small space. It didn’t take much thought for her to lean in and kiss you, making Steve grin.

Her voice repeated your own, soft like honey. “Just like hopscotch.”

fic idea:

Imagine oc being able to see ghost and spirits (more specifically yokai and anything close to the sort) since childhood. Terrifying really.

Demon paralysis be damned when you open your eyes to see a literal shadow figure staring down at you. Panic attack ensue.

Oh yeah, did she mention the voice in her head guiding her on what to do with these spirits and how to handle them, yeah that's a thing too...

Apparently they're the goddess Izanami, overseer of the underworld Yomi. Fantastic.

She also mentions how more spirits are running amok and unchecked bc APPARENTLY THANOS' SNAP HAD FUCKED THE BALANCE OF LIFE AND DEATH. So I guess those that disappeared weren't actually dead but literally just ceased to exist and it threw Yomi is a disarray of chaos.

Basically the goddess was pissed. So now oc is their unwilling paranormal detective, being forced to faces these horrendous spirits so they can pass on. Fucking fantastic.

Also the Blip actually made it worse too. Great.

Apparently there's some consequences of being forced to help these spirits

They're not limited to out of body experience while taking the train home, usually with oc being in the place of the memory of the spirits that were either before or lead to their deaths. Awesome. More nightmare fuel for her ig.

While this happens to her mentally, physically her body will either be unconscious, spaced out, or even moving on its own unconsciously.

When she sleeps they become vivid nightmares she can't remember usually, only the terror she felt. Sometimes she'll find bruises and scratches on her and remember only bits of what happened. Night terrors. Check. Bodily harm. Check.

Dane was said to make an appearance in Moon Knight originally but they didnt know how to add him so Dane is now in this fic bc idk what to do with this info now.

It was hours later, she assumed that he thought she stood him up and left.

She ate the steak anyways. She was hungry.

She didn't dare to call or text him, afraid of what he'll say, so color her surprise when he called her instead.

What??? They have a date??? But it's Sunday. Confused, she decide to tell him that she thought he thought she stood him up. Both are confused. They decided to reschedule the date then, both hoping that this one goes well (tbh both were ecstatic that the other was giving them another chance).

Ofc that doesn't happen bc Harrow and his cult with Ammit ensue hijinks.

So Marc and her are complicated bc they used to be friends as kids but then her family moved to NY. They kept contract and talk but it became very minimal. Like simple how are you type shit. So they have no idea what the other looks like over the years.

So Marc is in for a big twist when he finds out Steven's date is her. It doesn't help he had a tiny itsy bit of a crush on her as kids.

But he doesn't have feelings for her he loves Layla still, right? It's probs bc of the fond memories he held of her as a child that makes him soft for her. No not bc she's kinda of a cute goof.

They're grump and sunshine embodied really.

Also embodies slow burn and friends to lovers trope real hard. Marc's gotta to learn to move on and live a happy life. It's hard but he'll get there.

That doesn't mean she doesn't care for Marc. She does. As friends.

She won't admit it but deep down, she thinks Marc was conflicted about his feelings whether he knew it or not (whether it was his guilt about her father or not, no one truly knowz). So seeing how he gets along with oc is good for him.

Layla slowly pushed him towards her bc she wants Marc to be happy as well and move on.

Layla is a good friend and wants everyone's best interests.

Now onto Jake.

Keeping in mind of the hc that it's Jake that asked oc out on a date on Steven's behalf. Well then things are gonna be messy. Bc haha they've met before. Like way before Marc met Khonshu and became his fist of vengence.

They met when she was in college and hit it off from there. I don't want to give away too much of their relationship but long story short. Jake does break contact with her.

So when everyone finds out about Jake things get awkward real fast and real bad.

Khonshu is a manipulative bird brain and Izanami commit Khonshu hate crimes on the reg as she should.

Kinda gives off Scaramouche vibes from Genshin Impact but not as arrogant you know. She's not very well liked within the Japanese pantheon due to her role and also from her ex-husband's influences.

She really does care for oc. Thinks of her as her kin. She was a mother once too.

Speaking of her ex-husband, also commits hate crimes against her ex-husband Izanagi too (iykyk) and tbh go off queen.

Only oc sees her and she takes an appearance of a normal woman but dresses expensively. Thinking of Manwol from Hotel de Luna, same vibes as well tbh bc when I write Nami I think of Manwol tbh.

Bc with how oc acts, Izanami needs to take over when push comes to shove. Though this happens rarely.

Mostly this happens when oc is unconscious and in peril danger. Or when provoked enough to encite her fury or vise versa (usually the later is towards other gods of different pantheon, yeah she's still bitter they did nothing to restore balance in life and death). Sometimes when oc's spirit/consciousness is forcefully pushed out of their body, Izanami takes control to make sure the body is breathing.

They're not demons/angels. Just human wizards! The brothers are of course still brothers. Diavolo and Barbatos are instead childhood friends and Luke is Simeon's adopted younger brother. Solomon is just Solomon lmao and met everyone when he went to Hogwarts, as like in the game ig. So things are a little different? MC is here too but what house they're in and their backstory depends entirely on you.

Lucifer: Is cunning, and has the leadership of a Slytherin. So naturally he'd be one. He's also a prefect! He scolds his younger brothers that aren't one (everyone but Satan, but even still he gives Satan a hard time) about how they have the potential to be prefects for their houses but don't put enough effort into their grades to do such. Plus being a prefect comes with a lot of responsibilities. Not many that his brothers want to deal with. Satan only took them on because he's trying to be better than Lucifer, in a way.

Mammon: Party animal and a Gryffindor. He hosts the Gryffindor parties half the time and has quite the reputation for it. He's also on the Quidditch team so he's very popular. He plays as a Chaser and he's really good at it too! He doesn't put nearly as much focus on his studies as he should, and gets reprimanded for that by his older brother but he ignores him anyway. He's just really trying to get good enough grades to graduate.

Leviathan: Another Slytherin. He doesn't play Quidditch and kind of despises it but if he did play it, we all know he'd probably be really good at it. Like, insanely good. I could see him as a Seeker if he were on the team. He hates going to class and almost ditches them half the time just to be dragged in by his prefect of an older brother. It's annoying really. He just wants to stay in his dorm and read or draw! Why does he have to learn about Potions? They're boring anyway! He also has a pet goldfish named Henry. 

Satan: Ravenclaw prefect. He hates it sometimes but has to admit it's fun. He also has a small brown cat as his pet that he keeps, since you can come to Hogwarts with a small animal of your choosing. The choice was obvious. He's the only brother that has a pet, aside from Leviathan who has a goldfish. They're the only two that know how to properly take care of one in their dorm without it causing a ruckus. He has a small study group with Solomon and a few other students where they study old spells and such. Do they practice them? Well, let's just say for safety purposes, no. Can't have the teachers knowing about that one. 

Asmodeus: He would much rather be in Gryffindor since he loves the red and gold colors. He thinks black and yellow are tacky, but he can't exactly fight the Sorting Hat. He was placed in Hufflepuff. So that's where he is. He's been told it's because of his loyalty. Though he doesn't think he's been loyal a day in his life. But he forgets that he's loyal to his brothers. He always has been, even if he doesn't act like it. Anyways, he's very popular and very fun to be around. Not your stereotypical Hufflepuff but that's okay! He doesn't play Quidditch but loves to watch because he loves to watch the Quidditch players get all sweaty during the game. <3

Beelzebub: Hufflepuff. Need I say more? He's also on the Quidditch team! He's a Beater, and a damn good one too. One of the best - if not the best player on the team. He also is very close with Luke, who's a few years younger than him. He was the first to approach him after Luke was sorted into Hufflepuff, and they've been inseparable ever since. Since the Hufflepuff dorms are right next to the kitchen, he often goes down there before bed to get a bunch of snacks from the house elves for him and Luke. He gets hungry often because he's a big man with a big appetite. And Quidditch doesn't help.

Belphegor: I think you know where this is going. Slytherin. And of course since Lucifer is also a Slytherin, he makes life a living hell for his eldest brother. He somehow manages his classes and grades, but sleeps in almost all of them? Like the "I don't study but somehow nearly ace my tests" type of thing. I swear he just cheats and gets the answers from Beel or pays someone to do his work for him. Either way, he's just trying to pass school and then get out. Let the man be.

 

Diavolo: He's a Gryffindor. He just,,, gives off the vibes? Everything about him screams Gryffindor. He's also head boy because naturally he would be. He wanted to try for the Quidditch teams but didn't get a chance to, as he was thrown into high expectations of being a prefect and having such good grades that he didn't get the chance to indulge in sports. He loves attending the games though and cheering on his house team.

Barbatos: Ravenclaw! He's one of the best ones. He often hangs out with Diavolo, since they've been friends since they were practically infants. So he's stuck around. He always makes sure Diavolo does the right things and stays on top of his work, but that doesn't hinder him from his own. He's got really good grades. And of course has a Time Turner (like Hermione in Prisoner of Azkaban) so he is able to take more classes than needed. Everyone wonders how he does it all but he doesn't reveal his secrets.

Simeon: Another Ravenclaw. He shares a dorm with Solomon. He's Luke's older brother (adoptive) and doesn't mind when Luke sticks to his side sometimes. He plays Quidditch. He didn't want to at first, but when he was in his flying class - people were praising just how great he was on the broom and encouraged him to join the team. So he did! He's a Seeker. He's also really good at Charms class!

Solomon: Ravenclaw. Close friends with Simeon, Satan, Asmodeus, and Barbatos! He is Simeon's dorm mate and has a study group with Satan. Was offered the prefect position but denied it because he had other plans in mind. What were those plans? He'd never tell. He's very shady and mysterious. He's not often approached because of this but he is well known throughout the school. There are some rumors going around that he's evil but he just laughs at them, ignoring said rumors. 

Luke: Simeon's younger brother who was adopted into the family. He's also in Hufflepuff! Best friends with Beelzebub. If he's not following Simeon, he's glued to MC or Beel's side. Luke refuses to admit it, but he sees Beel as a big brother in a way. He sometimes goes to the kitchen to help the house elves with their food preparations, and they absolutely adore him. He's too young for the Quidditch team (and too short) but cheers Beel and Simeon on all the time. Only when Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw play against each other does he get stressed, because he really wants to cheer on his brother, but he also wants to cheer on his best friend and house! It's a tough choice, you know?

oh my god you work in computers! i know this is a very broad field but as someone who's being pushed into computer science for the bucks im still terrified of having no free time at all (i want to be a writer but that is by no means reliable pay). the ict guys at my school seem to be on the verge of collapse + im okay at computer science ig but there's this 1 kid who loves it so much and i could never match him and to be in a field where i could possibly be feeling 2nd rate all day? im grateful!

So, I can speak to some of this!

Work-life balance is something that's gonna vary depending on your company. (That's a good thing! It's not like the whole software field is trying to bury you.) I've got a bunch of friends in the field too and in general, it's pretty decent! My company is pretty damn good about respecting that balance. I have significantly more free time now as a 9-to-5-er than I did in college when I was swamped to my neck in coursework.

Like there are absolutely software companies that are very Grind Culture. Maybe because their culture is "this should be your life" or it's a shittily-run place with way too few employees for the workload. But there are a lot that aren't? That's something you should try to feel out when researching a company. You're not beholden to joining one that's gonna work you like a dog.

As for feeling second rate - that's something you gotta get yourself in the headspace for. You're GONNA be pretty much useless when you first start a job, especially if it's an established company with a big code base. Ramp up can take months. This terrified me as an intern because I thought I was being useless, but really I was being trained.

And it's one of those fields where, if you're the best of the best at your company... there might be something wrong with your company. (Or okay maybe you're just an extremely dedicated whizz-kid). But there should be people around you with way more moxie and experience. That's good, you'll learn from them. And they're hopefully keeping the product from crashing and burning.

And yeah it's intimidating if some of your coworkers are code-wizards. But really, you just have to come to terms with not being the best. Life is a lot more limiting if you can only dabble in fields where you're at the top. I was definitely worried about competing with the type of people you're describing who just live to code, but personally speaking nearly all my coworkers are just Regular Normal People who do their job during the work day and live their life the rest of the time. You don't have to join a company where the culture expects all its employees to BE like the kid who lives for coding.

Lewis- kinda shitty mayor?? Like he tries and he's nice enough but just doesn't meet the mark sadly

Linus- I have such a soft spot for him I just wanna be able to buy a house and let him stay in it. I love how he longs to travel I just wanna adopt him and feed him

Haley- very meh seems like an airhead which might be rude but she's rude to me so whatever

Finally made my own musician tierlist! A handful of these are tentative or possibly placed a lil lower or higher than I should’ve placed em bc anything past the 2nd and maybe third tiers is kinda,,, nebulous in my mind ig. Further elaboration below the cut.

Tier 1: The babygiiiirrrrlllsss. Favorites, hopefully forever. Main target of fixation and projection and general appreciation!!! I don’t prefer one over the other.

Callie: Part of me feels bad for choosing Team Marie when it was like 50% bc I wanted to be on the team I knew would win (but also like 20-25% bc I agreed with her other splatfest sides and 25-30% bc I liked her a little more at the time), but I think it was the events of 2 that made me love her so much! Even if I wasn’t always on her side - though I was DEFINITELY on both Team Spongebob and Art- she’s won me over now, between the depth of her character and the pizazz she added to the Octarian Army... seriously, love the glitter! Have the plush, love bomb rush blush, love the hair and the outfits and can’t wait to see her again!

The First Child of Algin, The Hidden Blade of Yakiharaas: They’re just... I love everything about them. The fact that they look like a more realistic fish compared to the other two by a lil bit. The fact that their cello is designed after a salmon steak. The fact they are like fifty years old. The scraps of their personality we got from haikara walker, describing them as stubborn as hell and also sensitive enough to care abt specifics when it comes to atmosphere and presentation. The actual cello music provided by an extremely talented cellist whose songs I’ve discovered through this game. Think about this guy daily. I just hope that any additional info or in-game presence they might have in the future makes them even more likeable and not the other way around.

Tier 2: Beloveds!! The googoos!! Other favorites. Only ever so slightly below the previous two. Not necessarily in order of preference, I like the first like... 5 the same amount.

Marina: Agh my heart,,, I love her so damn much. She’s so sweet and endearing and awesome,,, Her shyness and occasional dorkiness is relatable and her backstory is super interesting. She also has the better idea for a lot of the Splatfests... ketchup, no pulp, villain,wizard, teleportation, ketchup, superstar...Also, the tupac outfit.

Marie: Love her 2... she’s so silly she’s my silly girl... ok but seriously I love her personality, design and, as mentioned before, a good chunk of her splatfest choices! I was on sandcastle, night owl, team blue... She can be very sarcastic, but she really does care for Callie (you and me both, sister...), and their bond is very sweet.

Pearl: I, for one, have always loved her design. All those attempts to “fix” it during her debut were uncalled for. Her antics are fun to watch. Spoiled rich “brats” are a favorite trope of mine, but she’s not just some brat; I adore how she cares for Marina, and how she reassures her in OE and the FinalFest dialogue. Speaking of FinalFest, I was on Team Chaos, and it’d be wrong for me not to love our Chaos Queen. Also, the Biggie Smalls outfit.

Loyal Servant of the True Salmon King, Hizunamasu: I think if I squeezed them hard enough their eyes would pop out like one of those bug-eyed pencil topper-keychain animals. They’re just so... shaped and silly and all. What info we do have about them though unfortunately points to them being an unbearable jackass. Hopefully they’ll be more funny than annoying if we ever hear them open their mouth! Either way, their musical skill will probably make up for their disrespect

Valiant Green Flame Born of Trout Hell Canyon: He’s grown on me for sure. He’s kind of basic, but like the DJ his design is very ugly-cute and I appreciate his passion.

Noiji: What a ray of sunshine! I care for him... Not much else to say except I think we could be friends!

Paruko: Omg a gamer girl... Very cute design, wish she wasn’t neglecting her clownfish tho.

Tier 3: Not quite favorite-favorites but certainly favored. I feel like I could be friends with like. All of them. Kinda-sorta in order of preference. Won’t say too much either.

Namida: Cute design, seems easy to get along with, love the synth as well.

Paul: He’s ten years old and he makes ytps I care deeply for him. I would kill for him I would die for him.

Yoko: I want to see her cheer up. Someone get this girl some orange juice (no pulp). Maybe a mimosa.

Raian: I want to go to an arcade with them... they seem rlly cool

Karen: Mom friend material! Also cool to see a nautilus.

Bibi: Pretty...

Tangle and Fin: Very silly guys! Love their frenemy bond. Fin seems a little disagreeable but I could vibe with them maybe... Could totally be Tangle’s bestie tho I love this fail seaweed man...

Ryan: Love her voice, and she seems reliable.

Ryu-Chan: Uncle material. Generally seems cool to hang out with.

Aachin and Kitamura: Just generally loveable. I like both their designs and personalities. I especially appreciate how the latter looks like Maggie Simpson.

Tier 4: Enjoyable fellas! I like them and think about them. Also kinda-sorta in order of preference. Will skip over some bc I cant rlly elaborate I just... yeah theyre cool

taichi: VERY shaped. Silly silly guy

Blow: I want to see his daughter...

Ikkan: No thoughts in there huh. Except for violence and bass playing...

C-Side eel(?): Ok I know the other members are in the last tier but. They’re just so cool lookin!!!

Ichiya: Seems like he could be a lil rude but I appreciate his talent. And design. I’d go on a walk with him.

Dedf1sh: I like her but she is like. Dead and all. and unmentioned. I think I need to see her in person! Love the music tho...

Taka: Also seems like an asshole! But a little less than LSTSKH.

Octavio: Could’ve been a lil higher. I like him he’s just been out of sight and therefore out of mind- I haven’t touched Hero mode in a while!

Warabi: Kaworu vibes. Interesting character, but I’m not entirely sure how I feel about him...

Tier 5: The Forgotten. Don’t get me wrong they’re cool I just... forget. It’s hard to keep track of them all. I think Muruta might leave this tier tho, I’ve thought about them more lately....

Tier 6: No real opinion yet! Either too obsure or too new. Like their designs a lot tho!
