#i did not like her s2 arc so i am copium and living in s1 painter mel #mel medarda #arcane #my art #i have a LOT of thoughts on her and i wish she remained like. a normal person and not...whatever the magical stuff happened #it didnt develop smoothly enough for me to feel invested and left me just kind of. confused.#& i think that forgetting about Mels painting is leaving a huge interesting level to her character because art as a whole #can be used as a metaphor for the image for others to perceive vs how we perceive it ourselves...so for mel it would be herself #with the others perception being all of piltover. her mother. jayce. vik. lest. they all see her differently and mel herself i think #presents a different woman than what she is inside in favour of being 'diplomatic' and 'moving forward'#anyway thats just me rambling i jsut think there was a lot of melon left to thump in terms of her character #i loathe her trading in her signature colours for her mothers in the end

My less popular opinion (and what I believe to be implied by the art in Lost Days) is that rather than waking up in a fully grown body Jason didn’t actually complete his puberty until after his Lazarus pit dip while he was on his murder tour. Imagine you’re tied up in a basement in Berlin getting interrogated by a teenager and his voice is cracking the entire time and if you laugh he’s going to shoot you

#Late puberty Jason truthers rise #Egon calling up Talia like ‘did you send me a middle schooler what is this’. ‘He’s technically high school aged actually’#he would’ve been like 18 when he finally regained consciousness but the way he’s drawn could easily be mistaken for 15 #I know people love the body dysmorphia angst of Jason waking up big but I offer you this: Jason wakes up looking basically the same to a #world that has moved on without him and is unrecognizable. His death/injuries stunted him he existed for years in a state of suspension #while the world passed him by. He was on pause while everyone kept moving on and he didn’t get unpaused until the Lazarus pit and he has #to scramble to catch up. He’s actually 18 but the last thing he remembers is being 15 and his body reflects this state #and then once his mind is finally back online puberty hits him like a truck. Just look at the difference between how Jason is drawn #immediately after his dip in the Lazarus pit vs the end of lost days when his training arc is over #It implies it could’ve been multiple years but in order to fit with the timeline of other comics I personally don’t think it #would’ve been that long. I think he just sprouted up like a weed #Jason Todd #dc #I think Jason is technically still growing by the time he’s red hood. saw someone saying something like "do you really think veilguard story would be better if you could do evil choices?" and actually yeah. i think if they let us act more like the dreadwolf on the "you are a paralellism to the dreadwolf" game, it would be more significant when the story tells you "you are a bit like him/you are nothing like him" because , thats how you chosed to play it.

#like i think the game could be good without the evil choices. but i would like a choice at all tho.#it can be just pragmatical vs idealist it can be about how much would you be able to give or sacrifice #how the game is now when you lose people it feels more like you failed more than you sacrificed them #veilguard critical #also #i can see all his memories and judge him in veilguard #but the thing that really made me be on his shoes #was the inquisition mission In Hushed Whispers #where you wake up in a horrible world and you just want the old one back #da4 spoilers #da4 #dragon age #stuff like the emmrich mission i thought it was gonna be a paralelism to solas #of “would you sacrifice your people in order for you to have more power to save others?”#“would you move on from the dead or try to get it back ?” like it worked both ways #there was a moment in game i thought all the companion missions were thematicly connected to the themes of the plot #but idk the themes are there but at the same time there are not idk how to explain it #when varric is like “you are not like solas!!!” doesnt really work for me when its impossible to be like him #it never worked for me when charas in videogame tells you “you are X” for things that you are forced to do in game #and its always a gut punch or very satisfying when you actually chosed to do them #anyways im rambling
