we have reached the point in time where people are misunderstanding the point of my one IDIC post and disputing it in replies. and it's not a big deal. i know it's not a big deal. but i am going to start biting people.

yeah i agree the tiktok community is really mean sometimes

i heard this fun fact about flora being a top student and joked about it a little on a fake jokey tecna flora beef video (the creator said it was a joke between them and their friend so it wasn't really editing beef) but the comment was met with so much... (no hate) reactions because i dared to jokingly say that "ive heard somewhere that flora is smarter than tecna, i wonder if they have beef over their personal learning styles"- which tbh i know sounds kind of silly It Was but someone- the first comment actually was like "you flora stans are always making things up istg" to which i reply "oh i just saw it in the winx power musical and i heard it somewhere :)" and they were like "thats not canon tho" and people were so quick to like defend tecna and lol all caps at my little comment because the very idea that flora and tecna (fictional characters) would have "beef over personal learning styles" when the point was inteligence is kinda subjective. i mean- flora is a botanist and observant like how she noticed the fern in helia's paper. she can revitalize forests as well with convergence magic/her own magic and can speak to nature. ofc tecna is smart too! i mean Super smart and a stratagist- combative skills are great, and knows so much about technology and tecnomagic. but in a different way that Alfea might not value or specialize with their classes (it said she was above average student) it's also a flaw given that she "relies too much on logic" so I just joked that she ""might have beef"" with someone who works differently. (luckily they don't seem to Real beef in canon or said musical which makes me happy good for my stem fairies)

anyway one of the main issues about the drama on that site is like how much people care so much about scaling the characters to the point where it gets Very Opinonated and like ???? (especially Flora where there are two camps who see her as super weak and super strong where i think shes in the middle in s1-4) Often people seem to dislike the belief that Flora is stronger due to her powers being nature which is everywhere. Which I get too. But I'm in the camp that she is a very strong and capable character who the writers wrote her to be weaker alone with the Trix in season 1 because of her personality. but they tone this down we see her strength really grow in the next 3 seasons and she is seen holding her own against other foes. it makes sense because in season 1 most were new students and we see the evolution of her powers. from what I gather she is written to be on the same level as the other Winx in the Nickelodeon era (5-7) and world of winx for the most part, with that fight with her and Icy in 6 being a notable one. overall im not always a fan on how some of the writers handled the "emotional side" of flora, aisha, and musa in some scenes. especially in battle having their temper/emotional side being a slight "deterence" or a flaw. (ie Aisha and Valtor, Aisha and nemesis in wow, and her search for vengance in s4, Musa having the Pixie of manners which ig but I've never seen her as someone with "bad manners") in my opinon it might be better with Musa than the others. like rushing into it while for the others, notably stella and bloom- their emotions is their motivation and source of their power and energy where it is often the others "are more instinctive" sometimes or where they rely on too much on one idea like their ideology (Tecna and flora?? maybe) or they are throwing their caution out and diving in. yet stella and bloom are depicted as clearheaded in the story to me- as in it's not a main flaw for them. what do you think?

- the rankings can be intentionally or unintentionally mean spirited as well, if they think all of the fan transformation is pretty and drawn good there isnt so much like mean words but if like they have more mixed opinons you see people write things like "eww" you dont have to like it or have your strong dislike thats a point of critique but mind your words geez. dont need to say eww or like "do i need to say anything." (<worst offender to me) when when i would watch it to see your like geniune "design critiquing" about something from a artist or fandom you like. ngl it kind of takes me back to like old cringe videos when ppl would say these like out of pocket things and used the most intense language over art but not as much so as that sort of thing was so much more extreme and was like an abuse of like power with those people having so many followers. and it seems like they do not get permisson to repost the fan transformations as many artists want you to ask them their policy on sharing/resposting before doing so with credit.

i hope this sort of behavior from those old ragebaiting cringe videos where the fans go to harass artists doesn't resurface with winx fan artists, i dont think it will turn into that. i just find it odd and and kinda sad the intensity of the words being used by the tiktok population tbh. even if people have always been kinda hyperbolic(ish) online it's weird to see everything worded like that like "eww no" to a fan design you dont like? can be unintentionally demotivating and hurtful

the tecna vs flora thing is Wild !! flora is canonically a straight A student and consistently one of the best students at alfea. tecna is absolutely the Smart One but their specialities lie in different areas. tecna does Not know as much about plants, chemistry, or potion making. just like flora doesn't know as much about technology, engineering, or piloting. they have their individual strengths!! being that mad that someone acknowledges flora's canon intelligence or headcanons that they may have conflict over how they learn is so ? like,,, tecna canonically gets mad at flora's plants being everywhere and that's Part of flora's schooling,, it's not wild to say they may have small arguments from time to time!

and god yes the power scaling is SO bad!! first, who gives a fuck, all of the winx are canonically strong and powerful as shit, we don't need to have a fucking pissing contest about it. but second, it's literally canon that bloom is the strongest! that's not debatable! it's so funny to me when i see people say "oh well she's only the strongest because of the dragon's flame 🙄" like yeah... that's the point... that's part of the plot... Hello??? it's such a funny statement to me like imagine saying something like that about any of the other characters "well aisha is only a water fairy because she's the fairy of waves 🙄" "well sky is only royalty because he's a prince 🙄" like yes good job thank you for stating the obvious! it's so akjdhgk like yes bloom IS the strongest because of the dragon's flame! do you want a cookie for figuring that out alhjdglag

also the "official" ranking of who the strongest winx is changes every season! in the first season, tecna was the strongest. then it was stella. then it changed to flora. iginio changes his mind A Lot and it's often based on popularity and individual character arcs in the season. some tiktok teens have convinced themselves that the whole "flora is the second strongest" thing was Made Up by flora stans just because they don't have five minutes to google it themselves ahdla they also think iginio only said that because flora is his favorite even though he's said multiple times that musa is his favorite winx but yknow! whatever!

i've noticed they also only consider offensive attack magic when considering the power levels,,, like the reasoning anti flora fans have for her being the weakest is just that she uses a lot of defensive magic alkdghl like yeah that's part of her personality? she doesn't like to hurt people, even the trix. it's literally a "flaw" that she has that the winx call her out on because she ends up getting hurt because she refuses to hurt the villains. like,, her being more peaceful is Not an indication of her power level but okay! tecna also uses a lot of defensive spells but no one says anything about her aldhgl like wow they all have different fighting styles! what a surprise!

ALSO YES ohmygod the first time i saw a tiktok rating a fan transformation?? i kid you not, i literally gasped out loud. the fucking rudeness??? i think tiktok fans have this issue where they literally do not humanize other winx fans, especially the artists, so they think it's perfectly okay to not only repost their art but also criticize it. i've actually seen a lot of that kind of art discourse on tiktok where people think "oh if you post it online it's basically up for grabs and anyone can shit on it". like,,, no,,,,, it's literally just common decency to not criticize someone's personal art?? unless they're very explicitly asking for it, you don't get to do that??? and everyone in the comments was Also bashing these poor artists and it's like??? did no one teach you people manners????? it's absolutely not the same thing as criticizing the canon transformations and it's actually so upsetting that these kids think it's okay.

one thing ive noticed about the way i use tumblr is i don't reblog posts based on whether i think they're "correct" or not. im not combing through every word and tallying up how many unlearned biases the op is displaying. i reblog posts that are emotionally raw. i reblog people who are venting and hurting and being genuine, even if it's messy or unfair in some ways. posts i reblog aren't a moral value, and they aren't teaching materials. im finding moments of community where someone was frustrated or hurt and then dared to be vulnerable and raw. i just find that i value these posts. people's experiences matter, even if their emotions about the experience reveal where they are in their journey. idk it seems like not everyone uses this site in this way

that is, until a user with a questionable username donates to his stream.

satoru reaches over and takes your hand, twining his fingers with yours off-camera. he ignores the sudden burst of comments that litter the corner of his screen, instead watching you intently. in response, you roll your eyes playfully and blow him a kiss, snickering when satoru pretends to faint.

eventually, he turns back to his screen, cerulean eyes doing a quick once-over of his new comments.

"c'mere," he mumbles, slipping his hands around your waist and hoisting you into his lap with a soft grunt.

satoru rests his chin on your shoulder and nudges his face into your neck, breath tickling your skin. "you know that i'm all yours, right?"

"of course i do," you murmur, settling into his arms. he's warm and comfortable, like always. satoru smiles warmly and kisses the side of your face, letting his lips linger.

Fans confirms that is a member of the group STRAY KIDS and they made up theories that she may be dating him for at least a year, she appeared in photos at the airport, waiting rooms at events, performance events and etc. Some others, said that she may be only a staff, but most of the fans confirms that no, a staff wouldn't go out in romantic date with the idol. Look at some knetizens positive comments:

On the last fanmeeting of Stray Kids, Changbin couldn't hold back his tears of fear anymore. Apparently, a "fan" screamed out many times asking for his girlfriend's location, asking if she was there. Changbin and the boys seemed to ignore her for the past 20 minutes, but Minho stepped forward to confront and protect his two friends. Changbin can be seen walking behind the curtain and kneeling starting to cry, Chan walks to him to give him support, and only a heartbroken question could be heard far away from the mic:

"Why are they doing this with us?!"

Stays felt the pain in Changbin's voice and everybody started to cheer for him saying that it will be alright soon, and of course.. Stays couldn't hold back the tears.

A video has been posted right at the exact moment of the girl screaming at the boys, but the user soon deleted it to respect Changbin privacy

Stays at the fanmeeting, said that the girl screaming was indeed a user of the hashtag #ComingForYou and she seemed out of her normal. She was banished from the place and some other Stays confront her outside the place before the securities take them back inside.

We all hope Changbin and especially his girlfriend are well... We wish them the best and good energies!

In a time when AI users are constantly trying to pass as real artists, you're not and will never be The Asshole for asking an artist online to prove they're not using AI.

I've been asked that question myself. I'm not saying it made me feel good, but here's the thing : when you *don't* use IA, it's actually pretty easy to prove it. Even without a speed paint. And i'm not ever going to get mad at someone for asking me to, because I would WAY rather have people be too suspicious than them being easily duped into supporting lying, art-thieving assholes.

It's really easy for real artists to provide proof of their process by showing the different layers of their digital art pieces. (and for now AI-bros are still struggling to make their immitations of that convincing enough).

Of course it sucks that as artists we have to "prove" ourselves like that. But unfortunately in 2024 we can't trust ANYTHING we see on the internet. But the only other option is normalizing the use of AI in those internet spaces that are supposed to be havens of creativity and self-expression, and in my opinion it's way worse.

You’re generally a more level headed person so I was surprised to see how aggressive you got. But based on your reaction the author is getting doxxed which does feel unfair given the nature of the post.

I've been very, very clear that I don't endorse harassment or doxxing, and I've also been very clear that I'm not responsible for what other people do. Saying, "I don't like deceptive links, and this has done the opposite of interesting me, it's upset me and made me not want to read this; heads-up, y'all, this isn't a legit AITA post," which is all I ever said, really, isn't in any way an incitement of doxxing or harassment, and it's absolutely shitty of you to try to lay that at my feet.

Are deceptive links (commonly called "RickRolls" even when they don't link to the Rick Astley video) a fun and hilarious part of internet culture? Not really, actually. Most links on the internet that don't lead to where they say they lead aren't fun and cheerful little "memes" (the post wasn't a meme, but we'll use the word the OP used) inviting people to read a free queer book: they're usually part of social engineering phishing campaigns.

What makes the original RickRoll sometimes acceptable is a) the fact that you immediately know you've been "got" because an Original RickRoll is unmistakable after the first time you experience it, b) the link serves as a punchline to a specific kind of internet joke, usually along the lines of "click this link for news that seems too good to be true," which reinforces the idea that you have to be careful about believing what you see online, and c) it's unique. It actually isn't funny, cute, or cool to put deceptive links up online, with the possible exception of a well-executed Original RickRoll. That's the entire point of why Original RickRolls work.

Deceptive linking is a behavior that is illegal in some jurisdictions & is also grounds for banning from a lot of sites, including, wait for it:

Deceptive or Fraudulent Links. Don't post deceptive or fraudulent links in your posts. This includes giving links misleading descriptions, putting the wrong “source” field in a post, setting misleading click-through links on images, or embedding links to interstitial or pop-up ads.

#23: “The Miraculous Ladybug Movie May Give You What You Want, but My Show Gives You What You Actually Need! You Don’t Work in Television, so You Wouldn’t Understand.”

I've been running this blog for almost three years at this point, and I've seen Astruc talk trash about various things while claiming his show is better, like Winx Club, Paw Patrol, Pokemon, and Pixar as a whole. I never thought I'd see Astruc act like his show was better than a movie based on his show though.

For those who don't know (and you'd be forgiven, seeing how Astruc has barely talked about it on his Twitter), there was recently a movie that hit theaters based on Miraculous Ladybug called Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie. Supposedly, it's meant to be a retelling of how Marinette and Adrien met as civilians and as heroes. While I haven't seen it, it seems to be getting good reception, with some saying it's better than the show it's based on.

Of course, Astruc had something to say about this.

Okay, I sort of get what he's trying to say here. It's hard to compare the experience of watching an hour and a half long movie and a TV show with five seasons under its belt, but at the same time, the way Astruc phrased it still made it seem like he was trying to say the show was the better option because it “gives you what you need”. Nobody was expecting the Love Square to be resolved in a few episodes. Most people at least wanted more stories about the two to be told that don't involve constant padding. Astruc also acts like the Love Square is the only draw for the series instead of, oh, I don't know, the superhero action? You're really telling me they couldn't have tried focusing more on that after resolving the Love Square? I'm just saying, if The Office can continue after Jim and Pam got together, you can at least try to actually write other stories after the Love Square becomes canon.

One user in particular had some things to say in response to Astruc's claims, and you can guess how well Astruc took that.

Again, nobody is saying that working in television is all sunshine and rainbows, Astruc, but just because someone isn't familiar with dealing with network constraints and test audiences, it doesn't mean that they're unable to provide any meaningful criticism.

Also, Astruc is once again using a psychology term, in this case, the Dunning-Kruger Effect, to act like he's smarter than the critics. This man took psychology as an elective in college, didn't he?

But then again, this is coming from someone who doesn't think constructive criticism is a real thing.

Funny how he once again acts like anything that isn't positive feedback of his show is delusional, isn't it?

Eventually, this devolved into Astruc posting a little tangent about how fandoms have only gotten more toxic, which would have been a decent point... it if didn't come after all the things he said about fans not being able to criticize his show.

Again, there's nothing wrong with what he's trying to say here, but it feels less like a critique of how fans have become more toxic with the advent of the internet, and more like he's complaining about how mean people have been to him lately.

And, of course, this led to the usual fare of people calling out Astruc for his close mindedness, and Astruc once again saying how people aren't allowed to criticize his show in any way that isn't blind praise.

And here's the thing. We're still not done yet. This little tangent only warranted more comments about how Astruc handles criticism, only this time, it's also about calling out the people who think they can do a better job handling the show.

First, do you mind giving us an example of what kind of constraints you have to deal with, Astruc? We all know that TV executives suck, but I think we'd have more of a reason to understand your struggles if you actually explained some things that needed to be changed because of executive meddling.

Second, nobody wants a beach episode, Astruc, especially after that one issue of the comic you're choosing to ignore. We just want a more consistent story that doesn't rely on endlessly padding out the Love Square.

And finally, did you just say you have to be French if you want to rewrite Miraculous Ladybug? What does being French have to do with any of this? I remember seeing a little tweet a few years ago suggesting you would be a good choice to write a Superman story, but last time I checked, you aren't American.

Let's review in case you got lost. Someone tweeted that they thought the Miraculous Ladybug movie did a better job at the story it set out to tell than the Miraculous Ladybug TV show, Astruc tried to explain how his show is still good in its own way while justifying how long it's been going on for, he ranted and raved at fans for daring to criticize his team's writing before going on a tangent about how the internet has made people more hostile over the years, and when people still weren't happy with him, he claimed that you could only criticize or rewrite the show if you're an experienced French TV writer like him.

So just keep that in mind, fanfic writers. Unless you're French and have experience writing for television, you don't have a chance in hell to successfully write your own version of Miraculous Ladybug.

hey miss, if ur seeing this, i suggest you don't keep those all to yourself. bottling up those problems and refusing to reach out is not good. i'm worried. but i have a suggestion that works always for my nephew. you can do the 3 3 3 rule + breathing.

try to focus on breathing first, then count if you can. look around you then identify 3 objects, 3 sounds that you can hear and then move 3 body parts. i can guarantee it works, i always use that when my 10 yrs old nephew gets panic attacks.

i'm currently in the middle of a party, can't go home yet… having a panic attack. how do i deal with this?

sadly, you weren't able to see her post, neither did she with yours.

you approached the door and knocked. "miss? hanni? are you there?" you hear her sniffles, you can feel her breathing being unsteady, the way she sobbed hard. "hey, hanni. please answer." you leaned on the door. hanni had her hand clutching her chest, nails digging the cloth under her palm.

"y-yeah…" she answered. you pushed yourself off of the door, and looked up. "do you mind if you open the door? do you need help? i'm here." you told her, the music outside is muffled by the tiled walls, yet it rang inside hanni's head.

you can tell she's hesitant.

"i'm the only one here." you assured her. hanni felt her heart tightened, she couldn't breathe. reaching for the lock with her shaking hands, she pushed the door open and her eyes met yours, you can see the tear stains on her face. you frowned and let the girl reach for your frame, arms wrapping themselves to your torso.

you placed your hands on the top of her head and her back, gently rubbing her back as you rocked her — the same method you do to your nephew. "shh…" you whispered, pulling her close. you feel her bury her head on your shoulders, sobbing. "hey, what happened?" you asked.

"i — don't know, i just don't want to be here anymore."

you nodded. "hey, hey, hey hanni… breathe through your nose, gently, as slow as possible. deep. breaths." you whispered, as close as you can to her ears. you can feel her breathing, after a few minutes it becomes steady. "count to 10 okay?"

hanni nodded.

"1…"

"2…"

"3… 4…"

you started counting with her.

"5…" a gentle pat on her back.

"6… 7…"

hanni sobs.

"8… 9…"

"it's okay." you whispered.

"10…"

you wait for a minute before you continue.

"can you look around, give me 3 objects you can see."

hanni blinks. "a tissue holder."

"uh-huh."

"faucet… and your watch."

you smiled at her.

"3 things you can hear, hanni."

hanni nodded. "alright, the music outside. then, your voice…"

"and?"

hanni looked up at you. "your heartbeat."

you meet her gaze.

"does that count?" you chuckled, hanni laughed. "i don't know, but it's loud enough for me to hear." she replied.

"last, move 3 body parts of yours." hanni nodded, her feet stepping forward, her fingers trailed over your arms and hanni leaned her head on your chest.

you looked up and sighed. "you're so strong hanni." you told her, hanni smiled when her eyes saw your smile.

"you are stronger than me."

you shook your head and looked at her. "nah, it's you who faced everything. it's your battle and you fought very well. i'm here to help you, always. if you want i'll take you back to your place."

hanni looked down and chuckled. "it's too far from here—"

"it's alright, car. i have a car, you'll be safe inside your place."

hanni will forever be thankful for your existence, your smile when you dropped her off her dorm, your eyes when you looked at her.

she liked you before but now —

she's fallen in love, but this time she will never forget how.

Both Charles and Lila have dealt with immense amounts of loss and trauma, so their mutual understanding for one another fuels their so called ‘friendship’.

Part 2 - no warnings! Filler chapter, slow burn/ start but will start to pick up soon.

From the first time I’d met Charles I knew I’d developed feelings almost instantly. I had always been the the type of girl who caught feelings quickly. Maybe that was a recipe for disaster, wearing my heart on my sleeve, but there wasn’t a single fibre of my body that could prevent it. Not being around the boy was helpful, but the one thing that fuelled the crush even further? Social media, of course.

I had always been private online. All my accounts were locked and I’d never planned on making them public out of the pure fear of gaining too much unwanted attention. That didn’t mean I couldn’t do a stalk however…

I’d find myself laying in bed until stupid hours in the morning for the following week after the Monaco GP, scrolling mindlessly through my searches. The majority of them were amusing- I didn’t seem to worry too much about gaining a hate train online, of course the trolls were there, but keeping as far out of the public eye as possible meant I was semi protected. User: Lila Schumacher sparks relationship rumours with Mercedes driver George Russell, despite him already being in a long term relationship with Carmen Montero Mundt.

I laughed at that one and all the responses telling the reporter to shut the hell up.

User: Lila Schumacher is so beautiful, like her mum, why don’t we see more of her? User: can anybody else see Lila Schumacher being with one of the drivers? I exited the app after that, deciding I’d read enough, I knew it was stupid to do, but part of me couldn’t help myself. I’d always been a nosy person. So when Mick invited me to come to the Spanish GP, I accepted his offer (much to his surprise). “You’re from Spain? Which part?” I asked Carlos Sainz, whom I’d engaged in a conversation with whilst attempting to find the Ferrari garages before the qualifying. He asked if I wanted leading back to Mercedes but I was trying to find Jean Todt, my God father and dads longtime close friend, so I got a tour from Mr Sainz instead. “Madrid, have you been?”

“Oh yeah, it’s beautiful there, I’ve been a few times…” my eyes glanced up from the floor, gaze landing heavily on the other Ferrari driver now stood in front of me. My breath hitched seeing the surprised looking boy.

“Lila! Hello!” Charles exclaimed, the exact same heart flutter I felt the other week in Monaco had returned. “Hi!” For some reason I was surprised he’d remembered my name, hearing him say it made me feel certain ways. He moved forwards, giving me a quick hug as I clamped my teeth down on my bottom lip so I wouldn’t grin so harshly. “How are you?” I asked. “I am good, I’m good. And you?” Charles was pink in the cheeks, brown eyes practically sparkling in the Spanish sun. He looked like Prince Charming or something out of a fairy tail, I found him intoxicating.

“Good, thank you.” I breathlessly spoke, “you have met Carlotto?” He then grinned as I snapped my attention back up to Carlos with a slight furrow of my brows. “Carlotto?”

“Lord Perceval.” I giggled out at the name now, turning back to Charles who was staring right back to Carlos with a wide eyed expression. “Lord Perceval? Is that a nickname, or?”

“No, no, no!” Charles laughed. “That’s my.. um that’s my middle name. Perceval.” Charles explained as I felt my cheeks beating up, hearing Carlos too giggling along. “Oh!” I exclaimed. “How posh.” I shrugged as he laughed slightly back to me with an uneasy, “yeah.”

“I better go find Jean anyway, has anybody seen him?”

“Oh, Jean? He’s in that way.” Charles pointed towards three different doors. I frowned in confusion. “Charles, show her, your directions are bad.” Carlos pointed out as I giggled nervously.

“It’s okay, I’ll try find him.”

“No, no, I’ll show you.” Charles insisted as I bit back a smile. “Thanks for getting me here anyway.” I thanked Carlos. “It’s ok.” The Spanish man politely smiled. “Chiedile un appuntamento.” Carlos then spoke to Charles as I glanced away, no clue what the hell they were speaking. Italian maybe? It wasn’t French and definitely wasn’t Spanish. When I did look up, Charles was staring back at Carlos wide eyes in a manner as though to say, shut the hell up. I pretended not to notice as Carlos giggled, patting me on the upper back before I began following Charles.

“I think he should be this way. I could be wrong.” Charles stumbled forwards, turning over his shoulder as I caught up besides him. “It’s okay, I don’t need him urgently, I just wanted to say hi.” And say hello to you.

“He is your god father, right?” Charles questioned as I nodded. “Yeah, he’s my dads friend.”

“Ah.” Charles nodded, and for a brief few seconds, I felt a little awkward. I was lost for words, dwelling in my nerves that had appeared now I was semi alone with Charles.

“I think I saw you earlier.” Charles then pointed out. “Oh yeah? Where?”

“Playing tennis at the hotel, I think it was you there? You looked good- at playing tennis I mean, but you did look good as well, merde, it might not have been you.” Charles stammered as I felt myself becoming somewhat breathless again, when he was nervous I felt this warm rush of excitement run through me, but it somehow made me feel nervous too. His compliment made me laugh, realising exactly what he was talking about.

“Yeah that was me, I was playing with another girl?” I tilted my head to look at the smiling boy. I hadn’t seen his smile falter once since seeing him again, I enjoyed the way it would lift up his eyes, the dimples forming in his cheeks and the way his teeth would poke through every now and then.

“Ah, yes it was you.” Charles shyly spoke. “Yeah, I’m not very good. I just like playing.” I grabbed at my blonde hair nervously. “I play too, I am bad.” Charles laughed out. “I’m sure you’re not that bad!” He responded with an uneasy noise.

“I just think you would beat me.” The fact he had noticed me earlier this morning had made me go all red in the face, I felt all giggly and weak in the knees.

“No way, I’m really bad. Trust me, I just play for fun.” I bashfully spoke, thanking him quickly as he opened the door for me. Jean wasn’t in sight ahead of me, so it gave me a little more time with Charles which I was thankful for.

“Me too.” He grinned as I offered him a smile in response, turning to my left to see Jean not too far ahead, sitting down and mid conversation. “Oh, there he is! Thank you for showing me around, I’d be lost without you and Carlos.” I joked, pausing to stand directly across from him now. “It’s ok, it gets confusing in here.” He shrugged as I nodded, going to turn around. “It was nice to see to see you again.” He quickly spoke, causing me to halt my movements and turn up once again. There was a slight height difference between us, I only stood at 5”3, and he was nearing 6 foot, I guessed?

“Yeah you too, if you see me playing tennis again feel free to say hi.” I giggled, shrugging nervously. “I will.” Charles laughed as I timidly broke eye contact, turning to go find Jean. “Oh!” Charles exclaimed again. I turned around.

“I was- we could play tennis maybe? If you would like to?” His words made my heart literally jump and I swear he could see the way my smile tugged up. I was nodding before I even replied, borderline too stunned and shy to speak.

“As long as you let me win you.” I managed to blurt out as he laughed once again, pulling out his phone. “I can probably do that… well you could do that.” He corrected, unlocking his phone and clicking on his phone book.

“Oh.” I perked, pulling out my phone, ensuring to clear any embarrassing messages from my notifications before allowing him to type his number in. It felt like a fever dream, no man had asked for my number before, it was always Snapchat or Instagram first- it felt slightly more… personal? I liked it.

“I will text you.” Charles nodded. “Okay, see you soon, Charles.”

“Bye, Lila…”

I think there was a cultural shift with Tumblr users when it comes to informing people they've rebloged from shit blogs?

Like I remember there were quite a few bigish posts that got shared going on about how people didn't care where posts came from.

But also, absolutely people are trying to use it as a gotcha moment with you

A lot of the anons were probably trying to have a gotcha moment, but I feel like the ones who were followers for a long time were just angry and confused because it was a breech of trust in their eyes I’m sure. They thought I was supporting genocidal maniacs, I don’t hold it against them for having a passionate response.

I misunderstood a post and didn’t realize who made it because I generally trust posts I see from people I follow, but the people I follow make mistakes sometimes, too. I need to be better about fully reading through posts about important topics instead of just skimming through and assuming the post is in good faith just because I see it was reblogged by a mutual.

I’m not going to check every post to ensure every person in the reblog chain is a good person. That’s not realistic, but I don’t have a problem with deleting a post when people tell me it was made by a Zionist or pedophile or whatever else. I like people to tell me when I accidentally platform abysmal people. I don’t appreciate others assuming I had bad intentions by it, but since we’re all strangers on the internet I’m not all that offended either.

Summary: You’re just a computer nerd living your life in your basement as a professional hacker for the dark web. You enjoy your simple and quiet life until your misogynistic online hacker group undermines your abilities. They dare you to prove to them that you truly are worthy of being called a professional hacker. Hack into Stark Towers systems. The strongest, most expensive and secure system in the entire United States. Well, you never one to back down from a challenge. Especially to prove a man wrong. What happens when you actually succeed to hack into the Stark Tower systems? Will they find you?

Warnings: Angst, mention of mental health troubles (depression, anxiety, self-esteem, reader is unsure of themselves and if they belong), slight violence, blood, medical equipment.

You groan and you slam on your hands on your desk. You couldn’t believe these misogynistic men you had called friends. They were mocking you, claiming you will never be as good as they are, you’re just a woman they said. You laugh dryly as an idea sparks in your mind. You will prove to them that they are just men, and you are far better than they ever will be. They laughed as you told them that. Then, one user from the group chimes into the conversation:

“Prove it. Hack into Stark Tower.“ the screen read.

You stare at the screen. Stark Tower. The most expensive, expansive, and backed up software that existed in the entire United States.

As you were the only woman in that group, you laughed in their faces at the challenge and eagerly accepted.

You’ve never been more shocked, impressed and surprised in yourself and your abilities than the moment you had successfully breached all security firewalls from Stark Tower. You stared at the screen in disbelief and decided to play a little trick on Tony Stark just because you could.

You decided to not only look through all high security files (because, why not?), you wanted to piss off Tony Stark to prove to the almighty Iron Man-self made billionaire-philanthropist-playboy that he wasn’t the only one capable of mastering technology.

As you searched through the files, you decide to distract the Stark Tower online security team from blocking you out of the software by playing a little game.

You throw onto their screens the words “All work and no play makes Tony a dull boy” over and over again, line by line in bright red writing. You add on a song you created quickly blasting in the background in a deep computerized voice “You can’t catch me! You can’t catch me! Na Na Na Na Na Na!! ” with a clown dancing on the bottom screen. You added circus music for that extra slap in the face.

Okay, yes it was very petty and over the top but it was hilarious. You decide to indulge in your win as you made a bowl of icecream, laughing at how easily you breached THE Tony Stark’s software system. You’re dancing around you kitchen when your front door blasts open. You scream and stare at disbelief. What just happened?!

And then you see Iron Man marching into your home.

Fuck. How did they find you?! Impossible, you had taken every measure to ensure your location and IP address could not be pinged and traced.

You sprint to your backdoor only to run into a very hard and muscular chest. You look up and see James Buchanan Barnes, the Winter Soldier, smirking at you with amusement

“Where are you going, doll? We just want to talk.”

As your panicking you decide the best thing to do is punch the soldier in the face…. or attempt to… as he catches your hand with ease and stares at you.

“Nice try, that was cute.”

You yank your arm away and look around you, surrounded by the Avengers.

Your brain starts racking through the possible escape routes but nothing works as you’re surrounded by the strongest and best team of soldiers and superheroes. And then you remember the reason why they’re here in the first place. You start laughing and the Avengers stare at you, confused.

Tony walks up to you “You think this is funny? You hacked into MY system! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?! Are you some kind of witch? AND you have the AUDACITY to call me dull! With a dancing clown! really?!”

You keep giggling and you stare right into his eyes with determination. You’re not afraid, you’re amused.

“I was bored.” you shrug your shoulders.

“it was too easy. Why wouldn’t i fuck around with the supposedly impenetrable Stark Tower system? Not so much the almighty Tony Stark now, are you? Beaten by a random woman in her basement.” you keep laughing.

Tony stares you down, clenching and unclenching his fists. Captain America appears behind him, all eyes turn to the Captain, as he grabs Tony’s shoulder, silently warning him not to do anything stupid.

“Oh fuck off Steve!” Tony tells.

“Just because your ego is hurt doesn’t mean you can just threaten or intimidate her.” Steve replies coolly.

“Yeah Tony, it’s not her fault your system is shit.” Bucky snickers. Natasha slaps him behind his head and Sam slaps his shoulder.

They all turn around to face you once more but you’re gone. They all freeze.

“What the - Where is she?! You guys let her escape?!” Tony screams.

They all scramble to capture you. Sam jumps to the sky to fly over and get a better view. Natasha, Steve and Bucky split up in all directions to search. Tony remains in your kitchen, baffled, embarrassed and angry.

You’re running for your life. You can’t believe you managed to slip past the freaking Avengers while they were bickering with each other. You made yourself small and quiet and crept out through a small door under your stairs, thanking all the stars that you never had it sealed as per your friend’s suggestions.

You’re sprinting down the street, weaving between alleys and trying to stay low and unnoticed.

You dare to look behind you when your yanked from your arm and fall forward, tumbling and wrestling the body that just tackled you.

It’s no use. You’re not strong enough, not trained for this. You’re just a computer nerd that hides in her basement.

You’re pinned to the ground and look up at your captor. James Buchanan Barnes. Of course.

His striking blue eyes staring down into yours. Swirling with emotions that you can’t decipher. Is he mad? annoyed? you swear you see something in his face that looks like he’s amused?

Suddenly he’s smirking as your struggling beneath him to get out from his grasp.

“Stop moving so much. It won’t do anything.” He says blankly. Chuckling that you’re willful enough to try.

“GAAAHHH NO! I will NOT be caught and sent to god knows what fucking shit hole prison. GET OFF OF ME!!” you scream and kick your feet, wiggling beneath him.

He sighs and stares you down. “I’m sorry, this is gonna hurt.”

You look up at him “What are you-” then everything goes black.

You wake up with a pounding headache. You opens your eyes to blinding lights and beeping sounds. It takes you a moment to remember what happened and realize what’s going on.

You successfully breached Tony Stark’s tower. You were captured by Bucky. Damn him and his beautiful eyes and strong body. You stop yourself mid-thought and shake your head- He captured you, you idiot. Don’t think like that. You groan as you sit up.

You look around you and start panicking, you can’t be trapped, you can’t live like this.

Your heart rate picks up on the monitor and it starts beeping wildly. You’re groaning and kicking. Your arms are strapped down to the gurney. You start freaking out even more and manage to get one hand out of the straps. You start undoing the other one and then you rip out the IV in your arm.

You’re freaking out, terrified of what they did to you, what did they give you? what will they do to you? You jump out of the bed and grab whatever medical utensils you find to protect yourself. The monitors continuously scream and beep, you’re struggling to figure out what to do when Tony, Steve and Bucky run into the room.

“GET AWAY FROM ME!” you scream and hold a medical scalpel out to them. Attempting to appear as threatening as possible. Rather, you look like a terrified cornered animal. You’re shaking, your head is pounding, you can’t focus, you just need to get out.

“Hey hey slow down, you’re okay….” Steve coos as he tries to slowly approach you.

You stick the scalpel in his direction.

“Don’t you dare come closer! Leave me alone!” you yell at him.

“Okay, we can figure this out, just put the scalpel down okay? Look at your arm, you’re bleeding, you ripped the IV out. Please sit down and let Bruce take a look at it.” Steve says to you, hand in the air to prove to you he is no threat, as he slowly continues to approach you.

You hadn’t realized as you were focused on Steve, that Bucky had rounded the room and was now behind you.

You look down at your arm, confused, scared. Your arm has a gash from the middle of your elbow down your forearm. It’s bleeding a lot, blood is dripping down your clothes and forming a small puddle on the ground.

You lift your arm to inspect and start panicking. Your eyes wild and you take in everything and realize you’re trapped, you’re hurt, you’re scared.

Then you feel Bucky’s arm wrapped around you and force the scalpel out of your hand.

“NO! NO! AHHHHH” you scream and thrash against him.

Tony takes the chance to inject you with a calming medication to soothe your panic attack and settle you back down. You start to grow woozy in Bucky’s arms and you slowly get weaker and more tired. They help place you back into bed and you’re repeating slowly and quietly “no please, just let me go”.

You fall into a deep sleep.

“Well she’s a spit fire. A lot more spunk than I expected.” Bucky says with a chuckle. “I like her.”

Steve and Tony roll their eyes.

“You like her because she beat me at my own game.” Tony says to Bucky and Bucky chuckles back at him and shrugs.

“Call Bruce, have him look her over again, make sure she’s okay and have him administer small doses of that calming medication so when she wakes up we can actually talk to her without her freaking out. Tony, find out what you can about her. Her name, family, history, everything. We need to know who we’re dealing with and assess if she’s a threat.” Steve says and walks out the door. The other two men follow. Bucky looks behind him one last time and stares your sleeping form.

You slowly wake up again to the feeling of something tugging on your arm. You groan and look over. You see a man with scruffy beard and hair stitching up your arm. Your heart rate monitor starts to beep faster which causes the doctor to look up at you.

“You’re awake. I’m Dr. Banner. I’m just patching up your cut here, it’s not too deep but please be careful.” He says as he looks at you pointedly.

You stare back and croak “Where am i? What are you going to do to me?” You feel a small tear slip from your eyes.

“Relax, please. We will not and have not hurt you. We just want to get to know you. It’s the first time anyone has beaten Tony when it comes to technology. You’re in Stark Tower, the Avengers compound. I know Steve and Bucky can appear menacing but they’re harmless, I promise.” Dr. Banner says to you softly.

You don’t know why but you believe him. He calms you.

“Alright, you’re all clean here. I’ll let you get changed and you can meet me right outside the door and i’ll guide you to the kitchen okay? Take your time.” He taps your hand lightly and walks away, offering you a tight smile.

You get up slowly and take in your surroundings and the situation. You see a pile of clothes folded for you but they aren’t yours. Confused, you look around and find your own in a laundry basket, bloodied and dirty. You sigh and put on the clothes provided, albeit the shirt is slightly tight around your waist and breasts and the leggings curve your butt nicely.

You look at yourself in the mirror and sigh. What is going on?

Dr. Banner knocks at the door, you walk out and follow him to the kitchen. Your head held high, refusing to show any fear.

As you enter the kitchen, the entire Avengers team turns and looks at you.

Your confidence quickly wavers when you make eye contact with a certain dark haired blue eyed soldier. He stares you up and down and you look down at the floor meekly. Bruce guides you to a chair and beckons for you to sit. You plop down and stare at your hands.

“Please, don’t be scared. We looked into who you are. We can’t find anything about your past. There are no medical or dental records. You’re a ghost. All we have is your name. How is that possible?” Steve says as the group stares at you.

You look up but say nothing. Steve sighs. He didn’t expect you to immediately spill your life story to them but he was hopeful it would be that easy. He decides to pull the bandaid off and tell you why you’re here.

“We’ve discussed this at length and we have a proposition to make. As you are extremely talented, we believe you would be a significant asset to the team. You can use your knowledge and expertise to help us complete missions more easily by hacking into the systems for us. We decided we can’t have you living out in the world without supervision. If you’re capable of breaking through Tony’s systems, you’re too powerful in this modern world. We would like you to join the team. What do you think?” Steve explains.

You stare at him. Your jaw slack. You look between them all. It takes you a second to register what he just said to you.

“So that’s it? You’re not going to kill me?”

The team chucked. “No hun, we don’t do that. We’re honestly just so impressed by you and want you to be a part of our team.” Wanda says to you softly.

You stare at them all. Registering what they asked of you. “This isn’t a choice. I either join the team, or what? You send me to some deep dark prison god knows where?! Seems like it’s either join the avengers or live a miserable life alone and imprisoned.”

“They are one and the same to me, a cage is a cage. No matter how pretty you paint it to be.” You say dryly. Looking up at the ceiling and sighing.

You pause. “I’d rather be here with some freedom than be in an actual cell. I accept the offer on one condition.”

They look at you expectantly.

“Never ask me about my past. I remain a ghost. I remain hidden. I do not join you on missions. I am to be left alone at my own will, within these grounds. I will be a prisoner to your cause but i will not be caged like an animal. I want my freedom.” You say to Steve as you stare at him making direct eye contact.

You feel eyes on you and find who they belong to. Bucky. He stares at you and you fake a cough to clear your throat and distract from his prying stare.

Tony gets up and tells you to follow him. He shows you to your room. It is directly across from Bucky, and stationed between Steve and Natasha. A security measure for sure. You can’t escape them.

Tony lets you into your room and tells you that he has prepared your own station and office to work from. Of course, your actions will be heavily monitored.

He watches you sit down as you find your belongings already in the room. You realize there was never a choice after all. They had decided for you. You never had the chance to decide your own fate, you were trapped.

Tony slowly closes your door and you sit on your bed, staring at the wall. Processing what just happened and not understanding why you can’t get those striking blue eyes out of your head.

Since almost all the art and pictures I come across on Tumblr have no alt text, I figure maybe people don't understand what it's for or know how to use it. Here's an explanation!

What is alt text?

Some people (mostly blind people, but it can be useful for other disabilities too) use programs called screen readers to navigate the computer and read text aloud. That's why pictures need to have a text description (alt text), for the screen reader to read aloud. Alt text is usually hidden and just there for screen readers, though on this site, anyone can click the button in the bottom left corner to access it on any image that has it.

Why is it important?

Alt text makes the internet accessible for anyone using a screen reader. I used a screen reader for a while, so I can tell you how much it sucks to try and use social media only for every post to be like,

"This is the funniest thing I've ever seen!" (image with no alt text)

"This info is so important, everyone please read this!" (image with no alt text)

And then all the responses are agreeing and everyone is having fun and being social, but you can't join, you have no idea what's going on, you're left out of the fun, the cool stuff, the funny stuff, the important stuff, all of it.

How to add alt text?

On this site, when you upload an image, just click the three dots on the bottom right corner and click the option to update image description. You can also add it later by editing the post, if you forget when posting.

What to type?

I'm not the authority on alt text, so I can only give advice based on my experience as a sighted person and what people have told me.

One advice I've seen is to describe it like you're describing it to someone over the phone.

I think a good method is to start by stating the general, then moving onto details. I might start with, "Digital art of an octopus merman," and then go on to describe the pose, the emotion/facial expression, the body, the hair, the colors, the background.

Every screen reader user has different preferences, I've talked to people with completely opposing opinions. But usually someone can move on if they find there's too much description, whereas there's nothing they can do if there's not enough. So I lean toward over-describing.

Additionally, make sure you include anything referenced in your post. If you're just sharing a screenshot of a group of characters, you probably won't describe the shape of each of their noses. But if you say, "I love Bob's nose!" now you should still describe the overall picture but also include the shape of his nose in your description.

That also applies to things like, "This tree looks how I feel." If your alt text just says, "A leafy tree," that doesn't explain the feeling. "A leafy tree that appears to be hunched over with sagging branches, looking tired," is more helpful.

If there's text, include the text. I also like to give context (e.g. screenshot of a tweet). You can even use websites like this one to extract text for you.

Don't just put the word "image." Don't use alt text to credit artists/photographers. Don't use it for jokes, unless the joke is genuinely helping to describe the image.

And remember, trying is always better than not trying, even if your description isn't perfect!

cheater cheater (known as mangoball) is a satirical social media fanfiction by twitter user mangobaii written in 2021 about the internet personas of twitch streamers georgenotfound and dream getting together after georges ex boyfriend sapnap cheated on him with dream. on paper it sounds fucking abysmal especially with what we now know about all three of them (ie. they should be publicly stoned) but its more or less infamous for the surrealist humour and the way it acts as a time capsule for stan culture of late 2021. the characters are:

george. a very very stupid british man who paid to get into college. his boyfriend cheats on him and he takes it really poorly

dream. a very very desperate american man who sucked sapnaps dick in a public bathroom and broke up his relationship. when he thinks things are over between him and george he runs away to disney land to become a goofy mascot, which george finds incredibly attractive

sapnap. a very very unpleasant man to be around. cheated on his boyfriend and when its clear theyre not gonna patch things up he resorts to just hanging around the main group and in general being a dick

now this is where it gets REALLY really good bc its unanimously agreed upon that while the dream team are really entertaining in this they dont hold a candle to the others

quackity. georges roommate. i would say he "favours the tough love approach" but that is putting it soooooo lightly.

kyle. georges other roommate. the designated "straight man" in that he is like a normal fucking person put into this insane world of crazy people. the catalyst for most of the events of the story since he is the one who saw dream suck sapnaps dick, told george about it, and encouraged george to rebound with dream. thank you rival cartoonrival for telling me that i called karl kyle on accident. it really goes to show how much of a normal guy he is

corpse husband (we dont know why he was included either). dreams roommate. hates that cunt and is actively praying on his downfall

wilbur soot. dream and corpse's neighbour. initially introduced as "guy who keeps stealing his stuff (and also knows george from england)" gradually devolves into "batshit insane, genuinely a threat to those around him, involuntarily gets them involved in his crimes for a 'bonding experience'". also he is kind of in love with corpse but that isnt ever expanded upon

tommy innit. a freshman that dream used to tutor for compsci (along with tubbo but hes not as relevant to the story as tommy is. SORRY TUBBO!) but he hated dream so much he started a space about it, which got bigger and bigger until it became a huge podcast (with individual episodes still named using space naming conventions) where he and various guests shit on dream. he doxxes dream. at one point it was sponsored by taco bell.

badboyhalo. mysterious man no one really knows (except i think its briefly implied george dated him at one point) who doesnt go to their college yet keeps interacting with them like they are all best friends. is actually quackitys estranged father he never met

there was also a christmas special where someone snitched on wilbur to the authorities and george got kidnapped and they try to figure out whos responsible while snowed in and unable to visit their families like they wanted

Rebecca Ferguson is defending her recent revelation about a negative experience on one set, even though it earned strong reactions from some of her former co-stars.

Recently, while doing press for Dune: Part Two, Ferguson opened up about an uncomfortable experience she had with an unnamed fellow actor. She accused the actor of screaming at and degrading her in front of the whole cast and crew. She said during a podcast interview, “This person would literally look at me in front of the whole crew and say ‘You call yourself an actor?’, ‘This is what I have to work with?’, and ‘What the f**** is this?” Unfortunately, due to the actor’s placement as #1 on the call sheet, she felt forced to work with them and recounted the difficulty of having no one stand up for her. However, she soon found the strength to stand up for herself and told the actor off.

Ferguson chose not to identify the actor in the incident, as the story’s focus was highlighting a significant moment in her career where she vouched for herself and stood up against mistreatment. Understandably, though, the internet was outraged on her behalf and sought to find out who the actor was. There was some harmless internet sleuthing going on, which was more about users showing their support for Ferguson than an actual witch hunt. Yet some of her past co-stars took the sleuthing quite seriously.

While appearing on The Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM, Ferguson opened up about the reaction to her story. She hadn’t expected the story to blow up the way it did. While she acknowledged that she “kind of enjoyed the grab,” the internet sleuthing, and attention, she reiterated that the point of her interview was never about trying to find the “idiot” actor. She stated:

But the point of the interview wasn’t about finding the person — of course, people will be interested. But I was excited about the question, which was a very good question by [Josh Smith]. Because the point was: Is there a point in your career where you were treated in a way where you changed your decision on — this is how I formulated it in myself — where you want change, or you will not accept it? And it was such a clear moment for me working with this person.

However, she goes on to detail how others in the industry weren’t very supportive of her telling her story. Ferguson revealed that some of her former co-stars were scared they would be mistaken for the perpetrator in her story. Some even went as far as to call and ask her, “‘You understand what you’ve done, right?”

Ferguson had the perfect response, acknowledging that their feelings weren’t really her responsibility. She stated, “And I was like, ‘Oh my God. No, I didn’t think.’ I mean, it’s not my responsibility, to be honest. I don’t really care. You know, ‘You’re great, but my story is my story, and if you’re a good person, then don’t worry about it.’”

Ferguson makes an excellent point, reiterating that she’s going to tell her story regardless of her former co-stars’ reactions. After all, if they are truly good people who didn’t do what she accused the mystery actor of, what do they have to be afraid of? It’s very refreshing to see her defending her right to tell her story, as it is all too common for people to make a woman’s story all about themselves or a man. Women are often pushed to apologize or struck with silencing attempts and misogynistic rants for speaking their truth. They are constantly expected to modify or toss out their stories just because someone’s feelings might be hurt or it might not paint them in the most positive light.

However, as Ferguson pointed out, there’s really no need to coddle or care about those upset by hearing the truth. Her story is her story, and it’s solely about her and a defining moment in her life. If her co-stars were scared by it or wanted to somehow make it about themselves, then that’s their problem and not Ferguson’s responsibility.
