not to be throwing stones but the way people talk about having a "female" childhood as a default good thing in queer spaces is bonkers. Like the amount of abuse I and many others experienced that was directly tied to that shouldn't have to be minimized as some kind of learning experience. I don't actually think suffering in one way makes you a better person for it. I'm not out here saying No One Ever Had A Happy Girlhood but for many people that shit was traumatizing and doesn't need to be put on a pretty little pedestal nor held up as something that made you necessarily more empathetic/feminist/radicalized because imo that really does carry the connotation that all those things were potentially good for you. Being someone who went through that didn't distinctly or directly make me a better feminist or ally, it made me a very very hurt person.

Something really funny that's occurred to me is the way Joe talks about Maccie is like she's some catastrophic event that happened to their family "I can't believe she's been here that long." / "Everything's been different since she was born" / "Everything changed." / "She changed everything."

And it's just rlly funny to me. I want to up the dramaticness of his words at some point. And anyway, he's talking to the Samurai/Ronin for the first time and I'm wondering the impression he's getting lmao

Indescribable amount of joy sparked whenever I have Bellara and my Rook (and Irelin when she crops up) in the same scene.

It's nice to see human Asian faces in my video games as opposed to That Very Specific Asian Face in Asian Video Games With Very Specific Features That Are Indicative of Beauty Standards and Ideal Features™ perfectly encapsulated by a certain series that will not be named, but if you've seen the lips, nose, and eyes on one character, you've seen them all. I like to call it Uncanny Perfection™ since smile/frown lines don't exist which removes a lot of the mortal elements on their faces.

I love seeing the frown lines in Bellara, Rook, and Irelin's brows. I love the smile lines when they smile or even say something 🥺 I absolutely fucking love the moles along my Rook's face and down her neck and whenever else on her body alongside the fuckton or scars she has because "scars are ugly!" (-literally every Asian relative I have) and she looks like someone threw her down a hole with broken trees and knives and she somehow came out in one piece.

I love that they all have dark hair and brown eyes but in the light of Bellara's room you can see she has lighter brown hair while my Rook has black hair. Bellara's eyes are a slightly more golden brown while my Rook's are more chocolately, and only noticable in brighter lights 🥺 I love when Bellara emotes and her eyes go big because you can see the difference in the shape of her eyes vs my Rook's 🥺 I love their profiles and how different they are, how Bellara's nose is turned upwards with her higher jawline while my Rook's is slightly turned downward with her lower jaw 🥺💜✨

I love my Asian girls who look different because we always get slapped with "you all look the same."

Unsure if anyone’s asked you this before, but since Ganondorf was close with the queen, does that effect his feelings toward Zelda at all? (also sorry if this has been answered before, my time online has been spotty)

I also can't remember if anyone's asked me about this because I've been yelling about it in other spaces!! I can't find anything about it here other than my piano/hair/twinrova-related headcanons, but, in short: YES. YES IT DOES. sorry for yelling this is another one of my favorite eidolon headcanons

So I have a lot of thoughts about this which I can happily break down but generally speaking, I really enjoy writing Ganondorf and BabyZel's relationship as kind of tragic, in that they are (in the way that I approach them, at least) characters who could have been very good for one another.

Unfortunately, (my) Ganondorf does not have the emotional skills to properly cope with the loss of someone as close to him as the late queen was, and does not have any real experience spending time with children. Both of those circumstances put him at absolute odds with Zelda, despite her having fundamentally more in common with him than anyone else in the cast:

Born into a role you didn't ask for

immense pressure and expectations from a very young age

being Othered by way of your society's religion

being isolated from the community you're intended to lead

All of which he had in common with the late queen, too, and is indeed what made their traumabond uniquely their own. But additionally, now he and this tiny princess both know how it feels to know your birth mother died as a direct result of your birth.

For Ganondorf, though, he doesn't think about it much. Twinrova has always been transparent about not being his birth mother, but he's never heard anyone else speak of her, and he assumes that is by design. For Zelda, there is open scorn for the loss from her father, and castle full of people who loved their queen and miss her every day.

For Zelda it's just this one ghost haunting every aspect of her life, all the time. That's something Ganondorf could've helped her navigate, because despite him not being told about it, he's certain there are people he knows who knew and cared about the woman who bore him. But unfortunately he, too, carries a quiet disdain -- but he knows it's irrational, and Impa has pointed out that it would upset the late queen to see it.

So it's this weird line he toes of 'This is my friend's baby, who she loved' and 'This is my friend's cause of death, which I hate', and it mostly comes across as polite indifference toward her, which may or may not be worse than just hating her outright.

I have a blurb drabble thought vomit about a moment between them regarding this exact thing. I sent it to some friends, but I could post it here. I'm not sure if it will make it into the comic, but I like it lol
