You stay at the Sanctuary, but you really only go there to sleep

The majority of the time is spent exploring Nopal, the small, lush oases spread throughout the desert

You do a lot of shopping at tiny markets and shops run out of the back of caravans, loading yourselves up with jewelry, clothes, and trinkets from all over

Asra barters for a lot of it with charms and things from the Shop back home

A sun hat is a must in the desert, and you both sneak off to buy one for the other, both trying to find the loudest, brightest, most obnoxious hat ever made

The desert is full of secret wonders: strange and beautiful plants, auroras in the sky, more stars than you’ve ever seen in one place, and you get to discover them all together

The Prakran Empire has a number of gorgeous, tropical coastal cities known for their resorts

Nadia takes you to one such tourist town, but instead of a crowded resort, she reserves a private villa on a hill overlooking the town

The moment you arrive, there are staff waiting to take your bags and park your carriage, an elegant dinner already laid out on the table

Then - and this is crucial - they leave you alone

A few servants pop back in at scheduled times to give massages or manicures, restock the bar, drop off meals

Other than that, the whole month - sitting out on the lanai, talking over the distant crash of the sparkling green waves, making sangria in your underwear and hiking a quarter-mile to a hot spring to drink it - is just the two of you

Camping as a honeymoon is a hard sell

When you wake up, the bare-bones walls are full of tapestries, the mantel lined with wood carvings and some of the knick-knacks you can never seem to find a place for in the shop

You realize that the honeymoon is just the grand opening; this is a place he’s been waiting to show you, that he wants to come back to

The first week, you don’t even get off the boat, hobbying and taking long naps during the day, and dancing and drinking with the crew every night while the ocean air cleans and refreshes you

Portia hasn’t planned too many destinations - maybe three or four - but she picked them for a reason

Every day is a new flavor of lazy, cuddly mornings, afternoons packed with shopping and sightseeing, late nights of partying and rattling your hotel headboard

If there’s a funky local tradition - kiss the rock, put a lock on the bridge, throw a coin into the statue’s picnic basket - Portia wants to do it, and you’ve lost track of how much luck, true love, and weird supernatural power you’ve both accrued by now

When it comes to trying new foods, drinks, or activities, the scarier it is, the better; cliff-diving was an incredible rush, but she does regret eating that spider

Being married to you is already exciting. She wants to return the favor

Ultimate Lazy Honeymoon

His mercenary days were mostly spent in hostels and sleeping on the ground, but he had one employer who set him up in a resort, and he’s never forgotten it

Despite his preference for warm weather, it’s in the mountains; a smaller, more nostalgic, less-flashy chalet, but no less extravagant

The whole trip there, he would not shut up about the food, and you are delighted to find out he was not fucking around

Your suite takes up the entire top floor, wide windows overlooking snowy peaks, a private bathroom and sauna, and a bed bigger than you’ve ever seen (though Lucio insists it’s smaller than his at home)

The second you arrive, you’re waited on hand and foot. Everything is brought to you, cleaned for you, the staff even give you a literal bell to ring if you ever need their assistance

It’s a good thing, too, because you go whole days without getting out of bed - partly because you’re knocking paintings off the walls celebrating your marriage, partly because Lucio whines anytime you try to get up ☕

1. What's their name and how do they look?

- Kemara Kingston: i actually have a faceclaim for her! it’s IMG model Sharon Alexie E. specifically, when she has her hair in twists. 

- Lanai Greene: she has dark brown skin and natural curls. she has helix piercings on one ear and used to have a nose piercing but she doesn’t wear it anymore. she has a beauty mark underneath her left eye, and she wears glasses. 

(i also did some small picrews for them! the picrews had limited options, so they may look a little different, but it’s still them for the most part! 

4.  Can they handle blood/gore?

- Kemara: no. when she saw her first body, it was nothing but pure determination that kept her from gagging, and when she found that one girl’s body (i forgot her name, the one with the neck???), she jumped away so fast she damn near fell. she especially cant handle stuff like that after the end of book 1 and the fight against murphy. she is still very emotionally affected from what happened.

- Lanai: kinda. better than Kemara can at least. she’ll fidget when faced with it, but she won’t turn away. and when her and UB checked on that one girl’s body, she grimaced and glanced somewhere else for a quick second, but that was the most of her reaction. 

7. Who is their Love Interest and why?

- Kemara: NATE! kemara is a very gentle person and she wears her heart on her sleeve. she greatly appreciates those that do the same as she hates being uncertain in a relationship, whether it be romantic or platonic, and naturally gravitated towards Nate who was open and caring from the beginning. 

- Lanai: M (i cant decide if Mason or Morgan). idk how this is gonna sound but she’s used to..... complicated relationships??? like she had a bad relationship with Rebecca growing up, and she dated and then was betrayed by Bobby in college. she’s kinda use to being with people she doesn’t necessarily trust or have much faith in, so she was like drawn to M because of that kinda. like in book 1, M irritated her immensely, but those feelings also felt familiar to her so she subconsciously flocked to them. her & M are definitely on the same page where it’s mostly a “lust” thing in book 1, but dammit lanai WILL be open, trusting, and have more self love by the end of this series if its the last thing i do!! 

8. What's their relationship with their mom like? How did it change?

- Kemara: it was okay before the Reveal and even better afterwards. they’re not like close close, where she feels as though she can just chill and hang out with her mom. but she does hug her when they meet, and when they were in the Agency Punishment Room™ (jesus i have the worst memory), she stuck close to Rebecca because she does feel safe with her.

- Lanai: they weren’t close. like Lanai still called her mom, but she also doesn’t initiate any hugs and when Rebecca does show up, she’s more confused and uncertain than glad. in the Agency Punishment Room™, she doesn’t get closer, but she also doesn’t move away. later on after the Reveal, as Rebecca started showing up in her life more, Lanai started to feel more interested in who her mom was as a person. and in book 2 when they’re in her apartment talking about a heavy subject and Rebecca gets emotional, Lanai impulsively reached out to her. when she realized what she was about to do though, she brought her hand back to her side quickly. 

19. What does their apartment look like?

- Kemara: cozy and warm. she gets cold easily so she has throw blankets on almost every surface. she strongly believes that a person’s home should be the place they feel safest and most comfortable. she has a bookshelf in the living room, but it’s small as she does most of her reading online. 

- Lanai: messy, but organized. no one else knows where anything is, but she does. she also didnt spend that much time at home so she never realized the full scope of messiness until she had to stay there to recover after book 1. because of this, she cleaned up a lot, and now her apartment looks minimalist in comparison.
