B1A4, OMG, ONF Google Drive Folders Masterlist (Updated December 6, 2022)

So if any of you have been on my Twitter, you may know that I have (a lot of) Google Drive folders holding different performances that I’ve subbed for B1A4, OMG, and ONF and this here is the Masterlist for them having the links to the folders and describing what they all contain. 

If anyone has any questions, feel free to reach out because I know this is a lot of stuff and it may be hard to find things. The only folder that doesn’t specifically have what’s in it is the Special Folder. But the first section is all of the live performances and then the second consists of the subbed videos that I have and that are uploaded.

'AAA New Wave Award' Jaechan "First Solo Album, Feels Like a Taste Test Spoon" [Interview①]

In the DKZ group member to a solo singer, and even an actor. Although the name is the same, Jaechan, there are multiple adjectives. Instead of looking back on the path he has walked, Jaechan was focusing on the path ahead. Jaechan, who lives every day with a feeling of 'having fire under his feet', had a sparkling look in his eyes. Someone might call this look 'passion'. Jaechan dreamed of a future where there were more question marks than exclamation marks, more doubts than certainty, to grow further.

Jaechan won the New Wave Award at the '2023 Asia Artist Awards IN THE PHILIPPINES' held in December last year (hereinafter referred to as '2023 AAA'). This award is given to artists who demonstrate a steady growth trajectory while leading a new trend with their unique charm.

In 2019, Jaechan won the Focus Award in the singer category as a member of DKZ. Four years later, as a solo artist, he embraced the New Wave Award trophy. He expressed his gratitude, saying, 'I received my first award of my life at AAA four years ago. Over the past four years, there have been times when I struggled alone and felt discouraged, but I persevered by listening to the works and music of those who are here today. I will also strive to become such a singer and actor.'

Jaechan, who debuted as a member of the group DKZ in 2019, showcased his versatile talents in various fields such as dramas, movies, variety shows, radio, and commercials. Following this, in August of this year, he took a leap as a solo artist by releasing his first mini-album 'JCFACTORY,' which includes self-composed songs. Jaechan, who demonstrated solid acting skills as the lead in the 2022 Watcha original drama 'Semantic Error,' is expected to solidify his presence as an actor through his upcoming roles in the JTBC drama 'The Woman Who Plays' and the MBC drama 'Our Home,' both scheduled to air in 2024.

Congrats for winning '2023 AAA' New Wave Award. Winning this award as an individual after receiving it as a group in 2019 feels like a memorable milestone after four years. Do you have any unfinished thoughts?

▶️Before the ceremony began, I did contemplate my acceptance speech. I tried to keep it as brief as possible. I wasn't nervous but standing in front of such remarkable actors and artists, I couldn't quite grasp what to say when receiving the award. In reality, I've been greatly comforted by the works of many people present there, so I thought it would be nice to convey that kind of 'respect' to them.

What was the most memorable stage at the '2023 AAA'?

▶️The stage of BSS's performance, especially the twerking, was shockingly impressive in a positive sense. It was memorable enough for me to want to watch the video separately after returning to Korea. The atmosphere at the awards ceremony felt like a concert, and it was a new kind of shock for me. Whenever I went abroad, I always performed on stage or held concerts, but this time, I enjoyed the stage so much from the audience's perspective. Although I did think, 'It would be nice to perform on stage next year,' I was more focused on enjoying the present moment.

The sentiment of 'there have been times when I struggled alone and felt discouraged over the past four years' was striking. How did you manage to endure the difficult and discouraging times?

▶️I didn't endure it. I just lived as things happened. I didn't even think about what I should do, and although there were times of discouragement or despair, I didn't easily succumb to them. I am fatalistic, so even when I experience such things, I think, 'It must just be fate,' and live like that.

It's already been six years since your debut in 2019. What has changed the most for you?

▶️To be honest, when I debuted, artists with 5-6 years of experience felt like towering mountains. They exuded an aura that seemed unattainable, but I don't feel like I possess that aura yet. I'm still striving to become a cool artist like the seniors I admired when I was younger.

You released your first mini-album 'JCFACTORY' and embarked on solo activities. I'm curious about the process of your involvement in producing, including writing and composing all five songs, and how you infused your musical colors into the album.

▶️If I said there was no pressure, that would be a lie, but working on the album felt surprisingly comfortable. When preparing a group album, there are opinions from each member, and the company also has a desired concept, so it feels like following a set path. However, with a solo album, I had to create something out of nothing. I personally chose everything from the album concept to the jacket photos. While receiving and selecting drafts was enjoyable and easy, my biggest concern was how fans and the general public would perceive it. That was the biggest challenge for me.

How did you solve that challenge?

▶️I think this album was a middle ground between what I wanted and what the fans wanted. Generally, the album's story revolves around love, but I decided to discard that and fill it with the stories I wanted to tell. I strongly felt like giving it a taste of what I wanted. I imagine future solo albums will delve deeper. This album feels like a tasting spoon at an ice cream shop. (Laughs)

Since you wrote and composed all the songs, where do you usually draw the most inspiration from?

▶️I aimed to receive good songs, but from the moment the album title was decided as 'JCFACTORY,' I felt like it would be alien if I didn't participate and if my opinions weren't included. Even if it meant reducing the number of songs, I was determined to write them all myself. I went through old songs I had written, refining and creating them. While the overall story comes from experiences, I often refer to YouTube comments for finer details. Many YouTube playlist videos contain personal experiences shared in the comments. They're real comments from people, and you can glimpse the emotions of many individuals. I draw detailed emotions from there.

You were the first DKZ member to embark on a solo challenge. Were there any differences between solo activities and group activities?

▶️With the members being high-spirited, wherever we went, it was lively. Sometimes, it's easier during broadcasts because of that. When things feel awkward, the members usually break the ice, so doing that alone was sometimes missed. But there were also comfortable moments in the car or in the waiting room. (Laughs) Mingyu knew my schedule better than I did, often contacting me to wish me luck and support me. During pre-recordings for music broadcasts, the members came to cheer me on, but I couldn't greet the fans because I was still doing makeup. It felt reassuring to have them on stage with me during the showcase.

What emotions did you feel when standing alone on the music broadcast stage?

▶️When I watched the rehearsal stage for music broadcasts during my debut, I remember thinking, 'How touching would it be if my music played from those speakers?' But that became a reality. It reminded me of my thoughts from when I debuted. I achieved what I had imagined, whether it was a short or long time coming. It made me realize that whatever I want to do in the future, regardless of how long it takes, I'm determined to accomplish it.

It must have been a poignant moment.

▶️I'm an MBTI Type T, so it wasn't particularly poignant.

Ma ora vorrei farvi ascoltare la prima tra le canzoni che ascoltavo tanto quando ero piccolo, “Lose Yourself” di Eminem. Il motivo per cui mi piaceva così tanto.. è perché era una tale hit. Gli altri brani che vorrei condividere con voi sono grandi successi a loro volta, ma vengono dopo questo. Quando ero piccolo e ho sentito per la prima volta le chitarre d'apertura in “Lose Yourself”... tipo i primi tre secondi? Già solo quell'inizio è un buon motivo per ascoltare questa canzone. Mi piace molto anche il testo, le parti rap... ah... vogliamo ascoltarla insieme?

Probabilmente per alcunə di voi questa è la prima volta che sentite le storie della mia infanzia, quindi voglio raccontarvi com'è nato il mio sogno di far musica. Quando avevo 12 anni, diciotto anni fa, non c'erano piattaforme streaming come Apple Music. Ascoltavamo la musica alla televisione, attraverso le trasmissioni musicali. Queste, solitamente, andavano in onda nel fine settimana e noi non avevamo la tv via cavo. Gli unici canali che prendevamo erano KBS, SBS, MBC ed EBS. In molte famiglie c'è l'abitudine di tenere la tv accesa come sottofondo. Ricordo quei momenti [nel week-end] quando trasmettevano tutti quegli show musicali, ed io li guardavo in salotto. Non seguivamo davvero quei programmi, ma, mentre eravamo a tavola, un giorno è partita questa canzone ed io ho pensato “Oh, che brano è questo?”, mi sono incuriosito ed è così che è nato il mio sogno di diventare un cantante per salire, a mia volta, su quel palcoscenico. Il brano che ha dato vita a quest'idea è un pezzo di cui ho già parlato spesso in varie interviste, e cioè “Ragga Muffin” dei Stony Skunk. Ascoltiamolo insieme.

♪ Ragga Muffin – Stony Skunk

State ascoltando 'SUGA | Agust D Radio'. La canzone che avete appena ascoltato è un brano che, la prima volta che l'ho sentito, mi ha lasciato scioccato. In quel periodo, 18 anni fa, nelle trasmissioni musicali c'erano già moltə idol, ma quella era la prima volta che scoprivo il reggae – senza contare che era più un brano rap, hip-hop con elementi reggae. Non aveva alcuna coreografia e vedendoli ballare liberamente sul palco, ho pensato “Voglio diventare come loro”, è ciò che ho pensato allora, quando ero piccolo. Dunque a 12 anni ho iniziato ad inseguire quel sogno, quel pensiero fisso in mente. Dopo questa canzone, non posso non parlare della prossima, però. Quando sono andato a comprare il secondo album dei Stony Skunk, gli hyung degli Epik High avevano rilasciato il loro 3° progetto. Non posso non citare questa canzone, “Fly” degli Epik High. Prima di tutto, ascoltiamola.

♪ Fly – Epik High

Sono SUGA dei BTS e questa è 'SUGA | Agust D Radio'. Mentre ascoltavate quest'ultima canzone, vi sono forse tornati alla mente dei ricordi d'infanzia? Quando l'ho sentita per la prima volta, mi ha talmente ispirato che ho deciso che anche io avrei fatto musica. Quindi le canzoni che più hanno influenzato il mio viaggio musicale sono “Ragga Muffin” dei Stony Skunk e “Fly” degli Epik High. Oggigiorno abbiamo Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, ma allora c'era Cyworld e quelle due canzoni erano le tracce di sottofondo sul mio profilo Cyworld. Sono due brani che sono usciti a poca distanza l'uno dall'altro e, se devo essere sincero, ero proprio un fanboy/stan fatto e finito. Questi artisti avevano e hanno delle storie davvero notevoli, ma, intorno a quel periodo, erano anche usciti altri album di spicco, come il 2° dei Dynamic Duo e il 5° - o 6°? - di Drunken Tiger ed è da quel momento che ho iniziato ad ascoltare seriamente la musica. Ascoltavo anche e soprattutto molti degli artisti coreani che hanno fatto la storia dell'hip-hop nel nostro paese e che sono diventati la mia principale fonte di ispirazione. Sono cresciuto ascoltando una grande varietà di artisti e quelli di cui vado ora a parlarvi, quando li ho visti per la prima volta, mi hanno portato a desiderare di entrare a far parte di un gruppo e diventare un musicista come loro. Sto parlando del gruppo di cui faceva parte il produttore Teddy [*della YG], gli 1TYM e della loro “Do you know me?”. È decisamente una canzone che non posso non menzionare, “Do you know me?” dei 1TYM. Mmh... Quanti anni avevo, quando è uscita? Facevo le medie? Ad ogni modo, era più o meno lo stesso periodo in cui erano uscite tutte le altre canzoni che ho menzionato prima, i brani che mi hanno influenzato così tanto.

Allora, nei video musicali coreani iniziavano ad apparire tanti concept di stampo americano, come, ad esempio, le lowrider [*macchine con le sospensioni modificate]... Oggi non c'è più nessuno che usi le lowrider nei propri video, ma, in quegli anni, erano un must. Nel video musicale di “Do you know me”, ovviamente, ne compariva una. Era una clip in bianco e nero e mi sembrava fighissima. Teddy è un produttore che apprezzo ancora molto e mi piaceva tanto la sua parte in quella canzone. Ero rimasto molto colpito. Ricordo ancora l'esibizione, in cui portavano delle bandane.

♪ Do you know me? – 1TYM

Ma ora spostiamoci in America per parlare del prossimo brano. Vi consiglio di ascoltare il primo brano che abbiamo mandato, “Lose yourself” di Eminem. Era un album introvabile. Quando ho iniziato a collezionare CD, avevo trovato una compilation delle migliori canzoni/pubblicazioni di Eminem, nel negozio di dischi che c'era nel mio vicinato. Oggigiorno ce ne sono molto meno ma, allora, c'era un piccolo negozietto di dischi proprio nel mio quartiere ed io vi ho comprato il “Best Of” di Eminem. Quindi l'ho messo nel mio lettore CD – e probabilmente voi non saprete neppure di cosa si tratti – e ho iniziato ad ascoltarlo. È probabile quelle canzoni fossero esplicite, ma tanto io non capivo i testi e l'ho ascoltavo più che altro per la musica. Eminem ha scritto molte canzoni ed io devo aver ascoltato quella compilation un'infinità di volte. Proprio come SUGA ha (l'alter ego) Agust D, Eminem aveva Slym Shady, dunque ascoltiamo ora “The real Slym Shady” di Eminem.

♪ The real Slym Shady – Eminem

Vorrei parlare un po' di questa canzone. Onestamente, non era mia intenzione separare le due identità, ma questo brano della mia infanzia mi ha dato l'ispirazione per iniziare a creare le due personalità, SUGA e Agust D. Ma, in fin dei conti, entrambi sono parte dell'unica persona che è Min Yoongi. Non solo in America, ma anche nel resto del mondo, ogni dove, gli artisti sfruttano questa trovata – che potremmo chiamare uno stratagemma o un concept – Ma, nel mio caso, più che uno stratagemma o un concept, si è trattato di una vera e propria ispirazione artistica e mi ha portato a differenziare Agust D da SUGA. Però, di fatto, sono sempre io a scrivere musica per entrambi, quindi... sì, per favore, mostrate tanto amore sia per Agust D che per SUGA... e per Min Yoongi.

Ho già condiviso diversi brani e tante storie con voi e spero questo primo episodio vi stia piacendo tanto quanto a me. Ho come l'impressione, fin'ora, di aver parlato solamente dei miei sogni da ragazzino, e sono sicuro ci siano tantə bambinə e ragazzinə che, oggigiorno, nutrono le stesse aspirazioni.

Il primo album ufficiale di Agust D non è ancora stato rilasciato, ma vorrei farvi uno spoiler riguardo la canzone intitolata “Snooze”. È una parola che significa fare un pisolino, giusto? È un brano che parla del sonnecchiare nel corso della propria vita, del pigro sonnecchiare che sono molte vite. Nel corso della nostra esistenza, incorriamo in tanti problemi diversi, no? Attraversiamo queste problematiche come in sogno, quindi un altro mio consiglio musicale è “99 problems” di Jay Z.

♪ 99 problems – Jay Z

Ci sono tantissimi problemi. Non ci fermiamo solo a 99, nel corso delle nostre vite, vero? Ce ne sono molti di più. La musica che vi farò ascoltare ora è quella del mio periodo da trainee e degli anni successivi. Come ho già menzionato, crescendo ascoltavo l'hip-hop coreano e poi sono passato a quello americano. Quando facevo le medie, andava forte quello del Sud/di Atlanta e alcuni degli artisti di quel filone erano T.I, Young Jeezy e Lil Wayne e la classifica Hot 100, allora, era piena da cima a fondo delle loro canzoni. Credo il genere fosse denominato qualcosa tipo “dirty South”. A questo proposito, c'è una canzone che voglio consigliarvi: “Stay fly” dei Three 6 Mafia.

In quegli anni, tutti gli artisti sperimentavano in quel genere per cercare di entrare in classifica. Vogliate ascoltare il prossimo brano, quindi. Mi pare ci fosse anche un suo remix su TikTok, quindi è probabile penserete “Oh, quindi questa è l'originale?”. Il prossimo consiglio musicale è “Black and Yellow” di Wiz Khalifa.

Sì, abbiamo appena ascoltato “Black and Yellow” di Wiz Khalifa. Per approfondire un po' a riguardo, quando ero più giovane, lavoravo come tecnico del suono/produttore a Daegu, quello è stato il mio primo impiego nel campo della musica. In quegli anni, mentre tutti coloro che se la passavano bene stavano a Seoul, io, a Daegu, sono stato cresciuto dai miei hyung per diventare abile un po' in tutto. Quindi scrivevo, registravo e vendevo canzoni, e lavoravo anche ad eventi, ed è così che trascorrevano tutte le mie giornate, ne ero entusiasta. Credo la canzone di Wiz Khalifa sia uscita quando ero già a Seoul. Scrivevo canzoni, ma ero anche molto interessato alla produzione di beat e, sul serio, quello di “Black and Yellow” è davvero pazzesco. Lo ha creato Stargate e, ascoltando quel brano, pensavo “Come avrà fatto a produrre un beat simile?”

Andiamo avanti. Dunque il genere dirty south è stata un'altra delle mie maggiori ispirazioni, ma, ricordate, al tempo non c'era ancora l'algoritmo o Apple Music. Ho iniziato a far ricerche nella musica sia orientale che occidentale e non possiamo proprio escludere il prossimo artista: The Notorious B.I.G con la sua “Hypnotize”. Ascoltavo molto la musica di The Notorious B.I.G, e anche quella di Tupac, ma credo di aver ascoltato un pochino di più quella di BiGGie. Purtroppo, nessuno dei due è più tra noi. Molte delle persone ed artisti che rispettavo, parlavano spesso di quanto fossero fantastici. “Hypnotize” ha un beat pazzesco. Ma non posso non menzionare anche Nas e Jay Z. Ho ascoltato ogni singola canzone di Nas e, a mio parere, l'album migliore in assoluto è “Illmatic”. Ascoltiamo ora “Nas is like” di Nas.

♪ Nas is Like – Nas

Parlando di Nas, lo abbiamo incontrato ai Grammys. Namjoon si è sempre ispirato molto a Nas, fin da quando era più giovane, ecco perché lo stile della sua musica di allora era simile a quello del suo idolo. Tutti i brani contenuti in “Illmatic” sono fantastici, ma “Nas is Like” ha un beat incredibile. L'impianto creativo ed i beat di “Illmatic” sono unici nel loro genere.

Ok, siamo all'ultimo consiglio musicale di oggi. È un brano che ho ascoltato davvero, davvero, DAVVERO un sacco, quando ero un trainee, si tratta di “All I do is win” di DJ Khaled. Era il brano che usavo come sveglia, sicuramente i membri se lo ricorderanno. Mi piaceva un sacco la parte di Ludacris. Non rappo più rapidamente come facevo un tempo, ma in quello mi ispiravo a Ludacris. Ora come ora, mi è un po' difficile rappare così rapidamente, ma ci sono un sacco di canzoni di Ludacris che potrei consigliarvi. Se le ascolterete, capirete cosa intendo. Poi, quando parte il ritornello di T-pain, non c'è storia, è la fine.

Allora, abbiamo seguito insieme il primo episodio di SUGA | Agust D radio, come vi è sembrato? Sono sicuro ci siano un sacco di persone che staranno dicendo “Se ascoltavi quel tipo di musica, avresti dovuto menzionare questo o quel brano” e, a mia discolpa, vorrei dire che è probabile io abbia ascoltato anche quelle canzoni, ma qui ho voluto citare principalmente le mie hit preferite. Kwon Yul, “It was uncomfortable at first in observational entertainment…”
