you two have incredible chemistry on the court: together you keep every inch of the court defended, help protect each other's serve, set up the perfect point - everything you do, you do in sync. and if anyone wonders how, all they need to do is to see the subtle ways the two of you rely on each other during the match. yeonjun keeps a hand on your back as you whisper a strategy to him, as if to keep anyone from getting too close to you, and after winning a set you hug him a little longer than usual in relief. he carries your bag when you switch sides of the court, and you let him have first pick when the ballboys hand you a fresh batch of towels.

rumors swirl that the rising star doubles partners are secretly dating, which yeonjun denies a little too quickly when asked - you're his trusted partner, nothing else. he's built up his chemistry with you through hours of practice. but even as he says it, he can't help but steal a glance at you while you pretend to wipe your face with your towel to hide your growing smile.

but then it's the night before the finals of your tournament, and you're staying at a hotel close to the venue when you receive terrible news from your family. everything falls apart right then and there, the tournament doesn't even matter anymore, and you're crying so hard you can't even breathe. you call the first contact you think of - yeonjun - and ask him to come over. he doesn't need to know why for him to rush from his hotel room to yours.

once he sees your state he wraps you in his arms and makes you sit on the bed with him. you sob into his chest and he holds you close, one hand rubbing your back, letting you cry it out for as long as you need. when you separate from him he cradles your face in his hands and wipes away your tears, asking if there's anything you need, what he can do, if you're feeling well enough to play tomorrow - and yes, he would withdraw from the finals just to make sure that you're okay. you don't know what to do yet but you let him hold you, feeling safe in his arms even with all the pressure on your shoulders.

i can't believe i only have to do five?? i need more space to write about how moon writes. the way emotion is captured into her writing is filled with suspense but also comfort? like, in between dialogue, there's those quotes that you replay in your mind over and over again because how could someone think of that?

^^ adding onto this, the way she incorporates figurative language into her text perfectly captures the moment. it's not blatant and keeps the sentence flow which is impressive. as a writer i respect moon even more because even i struggle with that T0T

i've said this for everyone but can you blame me? they're all kind, moon included! she's always answering asks in the kindest way

ALKSJDFKLASDJF MOON :( this is so :( :(

maybe you and beomgyu went to an arcade together and had the time of your lives, laughing and trying to one-up each other in all the games, but no matter who won it always ended with the two of you teasing each other, and then the loser finally admitting - with soft voices and smitten looks - that you're the best and they're glad to be with someone so good at games. the giant teddy bear, too, was you trying to beat him at a shooting game, but when beomgyu realizes that your score is close enough to win the grand prize, he starts cheering for you: "that's my baby!" and when you hit that high score he cheers as loudly as you do, arms wide open when you stumble into his hug.

and when you're away for work trips beomgyu always has the big teddy bear with him. during video calls he has the bear propped up next to him, calling it "our child," and you smile and laugh as if it really were your child. when the call finally ends and it's time for beomgyu to go to sleep, he cuddles the bear to bed, and as he drifts off to sleep he remembers that day at the arcade again - your face shining under the neon lights, your laughter brighter and warmer than any ray of sunshine.

i'm not sure if it was your writing that described the moment perfectly or the little text posts you'd put up, but i found myself clicking on your page whenever i'm down (i have it bookmarked 😭) i'm so happy that i found 'the goalie' so long ago, even if i was reading it after the fic was fully published, i was so happy to read it. yelling over the character's choices, for them to hurry and reconcile, and everything about the fic was so fun. sometimes i wish for people to give you so much love on your works that whenever you're down, you immediately think to all the people who support you. even if you're just someone writing for little k-pop idols, i love reading everything you put out. to be honest, there are times where i use your works to learn more about myself. how do i react to love? how would i react in this angsty situation? i love asking myself these questions and become closer with the text in a way. even if you stop writing, i'll still happily support you <3
