headcanon that jason reads to cass. well, it started as him reading to cass -- she got to work on her literacy, and he got to share his favorite books with someone -- but it kind of isn't just cass anymore.

tim was the first to join them. he'd sit at the end of the couch and listen. jason's got a good voice for reading, very calm and measured, and having that sort of steady, relaxed sound in the background made tim feel comfortable enough to fall asleep to the sound of his brother reading.

damian, oddly enough, was next. he walked into the library one day, fully prepared to dye tim's hair purple or something while he was asleep, but he came across jason reading aloud and short-circuted a bit. he didn't get read to growing up in the league of assassins, so the concept was pretty foreign to him. but he kind of liked it. so he sat down in one of the chairs and listened.

dick's Sibling Bonding Radar just went off one afternoon and led him to the couch in the library. tim was already asleep and damian was settled into the armchair, entranced, so it was cass that made eye contact with him and put a finger to her lips, telling him not to interrupt. not that dick was going to -- he was already stretching out on the floor, careful to be absolutely silent so as not to disturb the peace.

steph, kate, duke, and barbara don't live at the manor, but every time they're in the house during this self-imposed quiet time, they'll find a spot on the couch or the floor to listen. in the kind of life they have (the one where you dress in kevlar and spandex and go out at night to punch people) (or during the day to punch people) (or you run an enormous computer to help the people in the kevlar and spandex... okay you get it) it's nice to have some quiet time with their family.

I find it amusing that an in attempt to make Chloe look like a bad person the writers accidentally makes her do a good thing as mayor, aka arresting the ice cream guy who has been selling food without a permit for literal DECADES

How in the name of God's green Earth do you fail to make a strawman look unreasonable?

The scene literally writes itself. Have Chloe grill Andre and try to see if he's done anything she can send him to detention for, only for him to show how certified he is (His vendor's license is up to date, the health inspector gave his ice cream a passing grade, and his cart has no safety hazards), so Chloe gives up and sends him to detention in frustration.

If you want to show Chloe as a tyrant, have her crack down on people who haven't actually broken the law.

So, serious question here:

Why wasn't she the one to take over Paris?

Like, if Chloe can become "interm Mayor" because she's the daughter of the Mayor, then surely the Mayor's wife can do the same thing? In fact, it makes way more sense if Audrey stages a coup because she's an adult, she's power hungry, she's an adult, she's in Gabriel's inner circle, she's an adult, she's a rich world famous celebrity and staging coups is just something they do now (like Trump), and she's an adult!

It's not even like she's too busy to be a Mayor, because 80% of her screen time is living it up and you know... not working? Also being president certainly didn't stop Trump from running his business

Honestly I still legitimately hate how cannon had Lb try to ASSAULT Chloe for *checks note* accusing her & chat of abusing their powers and helping an Akuma overthrow the mayor.

Like all she did was just prove Chloe right by trying to silence her through physical force, well technically further right as she and Chat did willingly assist Akuma in her goal.

Okay, let's be fair here and try to give Ladybug the benefit of the doubt.

Even if Ladybug doesn't know the truth at the moment, Chloe is still a willing ally of Monarch, and has helped him multiple times ever since the end of Season 3. In addition, Ladybug's Lucky Charm did point out Chloe was the true threat at the moment. Even in regards to the whole yo-yo thing, there's a chance that Ladybug might have been trying to non-violently restrain Chloe instead of cracking her skull open like a coconut.

That being said, even if we take all of this into account... what the hell was Ladybug's plan in the first place? If Ladybug was going to take care of Chloe non-violently, how would she give up? Would Ladybug try to reason with Chloe? Would she try distract her long enough so Cat Noir can take care of the robots? What about the Lucky Charm? Was Ladybug planning on using that to deal with Chloe, or was the crown just a warning to retreat? Seriously, what was Ladybug planning here?

And the worst part is that the next episode acknowledges that if Ladybug and Cat Noir beat up Chloe and put the fear of God in her eyes, it would only make their reputation worse. Was this meant to follow up on the attempted attack last episode? It doesn't matter, because that was what they ended up doing while Chloe had conveniently gotten akumatized later on, removing any guilt or consequences the two could face for assisting in another government coup.
