TEENAGE DIRTBAG – CS55
this was for a request that i lost !! teenage dirtbag carlos is canon in my heart
carlos knows exactly how much you love his teenage photos.
every time you stumble upon one, you can’t help but coo over his younger self, especially the ones where he’s rocking his piercings, a small silver hoop on his nose and both ears pierced with black studs.
you always gush about how he looked so cool and edgy back then, teasing him about how he could've been mistaken for a rebellious rockstar.
carlos always chuckles at your enthusiasm, slightly embarrassed but secretly pleased that you adore even his more experimental teenage phase.
"you looked so badass," you'd say, running your fingers over his ear and pretending to look for the long-gone piercings.
it’s a random day in january when he catches you sitting cross-legged on the couch, his photo album open in your lap. “here we go again,” he sighs playfully. “how many times are you going to look at those?”
you glance up with a mischievous grin. “until my eyes burn a hole through it,” you reply, holding up a photo of teenage carlos giving a smoldering look to the camera, a sight that has become painfully familiar again these days. “look at you! a total heartthrob. why did you ever take the piercings out?”
carlos chuckles, dropping onto the couch beside you. “because I didn’t want people thinking I was in a boyband instead of formula 1,” he teases, leaning over to grab the album from you.
“but you could’ve been in a boyband,” you argue, tugging it back. “or a rockstar! I mean, look at this one-” you point to a photo of him with tousled hair and an almost-too-cool-for-school expression. “you’re telling me teenage carlos wasn’t stealing hearts left and right?”
he smirks, pretending to think. “maybe a few,” he admits with a wink. “but i think i like the fact that i’m stealing yours now even more.”
you roll your eyes, laughing as he leans in to kiss your cheek. “nice save,” you mutter, still grinning.
carlos glances down at the album and shakes his head fondly. “you really like those photos, huh?”
“like? i’m obsessed,” you declare, holding up another one. “you were so cool.”
“you think so?” carlos raises a brow, smirking. “you should’ve seen me trying to convince my dad to let me get those piercings. that wasn’t so cool.”
“oh, really? do tell,” you say, settling in closer, your eyes alight with curiosity.
he chuckles, leaning back as if replaying the memory in his mind. “I was.. 16? 17? I’d just gotten my ears done, and i was feeling pretty invincible, you know? like i was zayn malik. so i went to my dad and told him i wanted a nose piercing.”
carlos laughs. “he looks at me like i’ve lost my mind. he goes to say, ‘carlos, if you put another hole in your body, you’d better find a way to plug it up before you come back into this house.’ and ‘are you trying to scare off sponsors?”
he shrugs. “i told him it was staying. and it did, for a year. then i got tired of cleaning it all the time and took it out before a big karting event.”
“a year?!” you gasp, staring at him in disbelief. “you had a nose piercing for a year and never thought to keep it for the memories?”
“i have the photos, don’t i?” he counters, gesturing to the album.
you sigh dramatically, all wistful and dreamy. “i wish i’d known teenage you. i would’ve been all over that.”
he tilts his head, giving you a sly look. “would you, though? i wasn’t exactly charming back then.”
“you’re not exactly charming now,” you tease back, earning a playful shove.
there’s a short silence filled with you flipping the pages of the album, broken only when you blurt out. “you should bring the piercings back. just for me.”
“not happening,” he says almost immediately, laughing, shaking his head.
“why not?” you whine. “you’d look so good!”
“because i’m not 16 anymore. the piercings were a phase,” he says.
“lame,” you mutter, pouting
“but maybe… if you keep being this cute about it, i’ll wear a fake one and we can pretend.”
you gasp dramatically. “deal.”
“dios mío,” carlos groans, though the way he’s smiling tells you he doesn’t mind at all.

ok i’m sorry i contemplated not posting this because it’s almost meanspo so just don’t read it if ur triggered. it’s also just bad advice, don’t starve yourself and don’t be an (vodka) alcoholic.please recover love you i guess
first off i wanna preface this by saying FUCK YOUUUUU. if ur a little fat baby piggy no friends bitch i don’t want ur advice or opinions on my alcohol consumption while i fast😭😋!!! i’ve lost like 40lbs since i’ve started being an alcoholic and it’s had absolutely no impact on my weight, cuz just to irritate for the 100th time on this account: I NEVER EAT HOE! anwyays sorry maybe i’m just too drunk but that really pissed me the fuck off. like GOD OKAY RUIN THAT FOR ME TOO. like ok i never get any calories in except for alc but sure fuck it yk, because YOU said that alc has calories(you don’t think i know that bro?) i’m just gonna suddenly stop being an alcoholic. and now i just feel like shit because i consume calories from alc and someone thinks thats a “judgey” thing to say to me. now i feel fat so thank you. like if i could stop drinking that easily i WOULD and if i could start eating without gaining weight every time i do I WOULD. ur so dumb. ugh. i hate myself i’m sorry i’m so mean i love you people and i hope ur healthy and happy. i just need to put my anger out on someone lol. BUT also genuinely liek you guys do piss me off tho cuz you think it’s some crazy impressive thing to not eat for a week or eat like a grape a day…like guys… it gets worse and you will see and you’re gonna hate ur life. if ur ed is at that point PLEASE RECOVER AND RECONSIDER IT GWTS SO MUCH WORSE UGH. AND NO ONES GONNA LISTEN BECAUSE I DIDNT EITHER. i want to save you guys so bad. like i hate that people still get to romanticize it without all the pain and suffering every single waking moment of the day. also i’m officially underweight so someone send me a 0 calorie cake in the mail😝🙏
anyways this is somehow too related and will sound so fake but i swear on my whole life and my mamas and my brothers and my papas this is a TRUE STORY!!! i saw an old friend today and the first thing they said was “oh my god you lost so much weight” “like ur arms, face, whole body damn” BASICALLY LIKE THAT OBVIOUSLY I DONT REMEMBER WORD FOR WORD. but bro i have never felt so fucking seen in my life. like finally someone besides my family or best friend noticed my weight loss damn. AND SHE ASKED IF SHE SHOULD BE WORRIED FUCKKKKK. like no you shouldn’t cuz i’m never gonna get better but like fuck thank you bro. no one comments on people’s weight anymore and it pisses me offfff like i know it’s rude but i needed that comment to make me wanna keep starving!
am i a piece of shit? like genuinely did the eating disorder make me a horrible evil miserable person? i have this thought that even if somehow i recover physically(i pray to god i never get fat[by my standards] again ) that i’ll never recover mentally. i’ll always have this fucked up judgement of right and wrong that revolves around the stupid idea of being thinner. does it even matter? no. no it doesn’t. but it’s my whole world. my whole world is how skinny i am and it’s so tiring. the highlight of my day was being called worryingly skinny by an old friend who doesn’t care if i live or die. the second highlight of my day was the fact that i got 28k steps and burning 800 calories at the gym and bought another bottle. i’m tired of being a bad person. im tired of being annoying and stupid and dumb. such a fuckup. i’m sorry if i’m a bad person and you had to read this and feel like shit because you had to sit through reading my awful terrible judgment and thoughts.
LAST POINT:
tomorrow i have to eat my first meal in months(for real this time) and i am so scared and upset. it’s like a piece of myself dies everytime i eat. without starvation i am nothing. i am a shell of a person and when i eat i just become a shell that feels fat. i’m gonna take laxatives obviously and do some workouts but it’s never enough. i’m gonna make sure the meal that i’m forced to eat is as low calorie as possible because i’ll be drinking alcohol too and APPARENTLY i should just kill myself because it’s a crime to still be an alcoholic when you’re starving yourself.
also alcohol most likely won’t make you gain weight unless it’s beer or seltzers and it especially won’t if ur always drinking on an empty stomach. vodka on an empty(for months) stomach plus working out excessively won’t make yoh gain weight. shut up shut up shut up shut THE FUCK up you bitches piss me off.
FUCK YOU.

Irks me a little bit whenever Dean torturing in Hell is positioned as his own fault, or even really his choice to do. We get given the solid number, 30 years of torture for him and 10 inflicting it on other people (which was also more torture for him because it’s Hell, the torture evolves, it doesn’t stop), and we get told that wasn’t long enough. That John held out longer. That angels were going to pull Dean out of Hell and if he’d just held on a few years more, the seal wouldn’t have been broken.
But that isn’t true, right? We know Heaven wanted the seal broken, ergo Dean wasn’t getting saved until it was. Until it, and he, we’re thoroughly broken and usable by Heaven to achieve their own ends (ie to make him into a good (obedient) Michael sword.) So, it wouldn’t have mattered how long he held out in Apocalyptic terms because the game (that he didn’t know he was playing) was rigged against him.
But more importantly for Dean, the amount of time he managed not to break literally does not matter. Because it was never going to be long enough. Thirty years, forty, a hundred, a thousand, it does not matter how long he held out because the breaking itself is the unforgivable part to him and the breaking was always inevitable.
Anyway. There’s my Dean meta for the year. Eat up, I guess.
#despite this being brought out by that prev post I’m not like. actually annoyed or anything.#we’re all free to interpret the show however. I just think this way brings out the tragedy of it best is all.#you know it’s like. did Dean & Sam technically both have choices in s4? did they technically make the wrong ones? yes.#but at the same time. there was never a choice. there was never an option to avoid the apocalypse. especially with how little they knew#of what was actually going on over their heads. like. it really is insane to go rewatch s4 and realize how much they don’t understand about#what’s happening around and to them. and that’s the part I like best! it was unavoidable! they will still blame themselves forever!#what’s the thing called where you like both brothers. bibro? that’s me.#samgirl with bibro tendencies.#if you ever see me speak negatively about dean know that it’s because I love those things about him actually.#I like when he’s possessive and self-destructive and terrible. I just think. in this particular instance. this was not him embodying#a character flaw. so much as it was him being forced into his role in the story in a very like. visceral literal sense.#I could go into the Michael-Dean ‘what does it mean that of the two vessels it’s not Lucifer’s sent to hell but Michael’s’ thing but#maybe save that for another day. I have thoughts I’m just tired.#spn#dean winchester

love letters | s.reid
summary; when you miss spencer while he is away on a case, you re-read all the love letters he has written you over the course of your relationship
warnings; established relationships, mentions case but doesnt go into detail, fem reader, reader is not a coffee drinker, fluff fluff fluff
an; fic six!! this is just pure fluff tbh. also can we appreciate the colouring on this fic. ITS SO PERFECT PRETTU PERFECT.
You’re lying on the bed that feels too big without him, your fingers idly tracing the edge of a soft, worn piece of paper. The clock beside you reads 2:12 a.m., and you can’t shake the emptiness settling over you as you stare at the ceiling, too awake to sleep and too tired to do anything else. Spencer’s been away for three days now, and every hour without him feels like it stretches on and on, the silence heavier than you’d ever thought silence could be.
Your eyes drift back to the drawer beside your bed, a drawer he never opens, but where you keep something he would recognize instantly. Tucked away are letters, dozens of them, each one a quiet reminder of him. They’re notes, really—not grand declarations, not epic poems. Just little reminders he’s left you over time, slipped into coat pockets or left folded on your pillow. You hadn’t intended to save them all, but now, having them close is the only thing keeping you grounded while he’s away.
You open the drawer and pull out the little bundle tied with a piece of twine. Your heart swells as you untie it, gently unfolding the first note. It’s one of your favorites, written on a torn scrap of notebook paper, one corner crinkled from a drop of coffee. Spencer had left it on your kitchen counter before heading out to work, months ago.
“If I could leave you notes all over the world, I would. But for now, just look outside—it’s raining, and I know that makes you feel calm. I’ll be home before the storm’s over. – S”
You smile, remembering that day. You’d found the note just before noticing the rain falling in gentle streams outside your window, and you’d waited with a blanket by the window, watching the clouds until he came back, just like he’d promised. He always knew how to turn your little quirks into anchors.
Setting that note aside, you reach for another. This one’s written on the back of a receipt from the bookshop downtown. It’s short and scrawled in his neat handwriting.
“You pick up this book as if it’s a friend you haven’t seen in years. It’s beautiful to watch. Don’t forget to mark your place in the story—I want to hear what you think. – S”
You laugh to yourself, remembering how he’d tucked it into the back of the book after you bought it. He hadn’t let you see it until you found it yourself one night, and the memory of the way he’d watched you read that note makes your heart ache just a little more.
You lie back against the pillows, shifting so you’re curled around his side of the bed. It’s silly, maybe, reading these notes over and over. But as you go through them, each one reminds you how much he loves you, how he notices things about you that you hadn’t even noticed about yourself. His love is a quiet kind, a series of small gestures and words, but somehow, it feels bigger than anything else you’ve known.
Another note catches your eye. This one’s on a tiny sticky note, a bright yellow square you’d found on your mirror one morning.
“You make coffee exactly how I like it, even when you don’t drink it. I don’t think anyone’s ever done that for me before. I’m lucky. – S”
You can still remember the warmth of his hand over yours when he found you reading it, how he hadn’t needed to say anything else.
The letters become a timeline of your relationship, a way to measure time not by dates but by memories, by little notes that remind you of the person you are when you’re with him. Each one has a tiny piece of his heart tucked into it, a small reminder that he’s with you even when he’s halfway across the country.
You read through a few more, feeling your eyes grow heavy but not wanting to close them. There’s something grounding about seeing his words, knowing that he took the time to write these little messages just for you. In a way, it makes the ache of missing him almost bearable, makes you feel connected to him in a way that’s both heartbreaking and comforting.
You’ve just set down the last one, a note he left in the middle of a crossword puzzle—“How do you always know the words I can’t think of? I love you.”—when your phone buzzes on the nightstand.
It’s him.
You answer on the first ring, not even caring if he’ll be able to hear the lingering sleepiness in your voice. “Spencer?” you say, unable to help the warmth in your tone.
“Did I wake you?” His voice is soft, low, and there’s a hint of worry in it.
“Not really. I couldn’t sleep,” you reply. There’s a beat of silence before you add, “I was reading some of your notes.”
The smile in his voice is unmistakable. “You kept those?”
“All of them.” You can practically feel his surprise through the line. “It helps. You know, with you being away.”
He hums softly, a sound you know means he’s thinking. “Do you have a favourite?”
There’s a hundred favourites, but you know the answer without hesitating. “The one on the mirror, about the coffee. I don’t think anyone’s ever noticed something like that before.”
The line goes quiet for a moment, but you know he’s smiling. “I think about those little things a lot,” he admits. “I keep thinking about how much I miss you. I know I’ll be back in a few days, but it doesn’t stop me from wishing it was sooner.”
Your heart tightens, and you can’t help but imagine him sitting in some unfamiliar hotel room, thinking of you just as much as you’re thinking of him. “I miss you, too,” you whisper, barely able to keep your voice steady.
There’s another pause, the comforting kind, where neither of you needs to say anything. It’s enough just to be together, even like this.
“Do you want to hear about the case?” he asks gently, as if he’s afraid you’ll say no. You do, because it’s part of him, and you always want to know. So he tells you, his voice a familiar comfort in the dark, weaving through the details with that measured precision he’s so good at. You listen, nodding at the right places, even though he can’t see you, letting his words settle over you like a lullaby.
When he’s finished, there’s a soft exhale on the other end of the line. “Do you have any notes for me?” he asks, the hint of a tease in his voice.
“I could think of a few,” you say with a smile, glancing down at the scattered pages on your bed. “Maybe a sticky note on your phone: ‘Call your girlfriend as soon as the plane lands.’”
You can hear his smile widen. “I think I can manage that.” His voice softens, the words almost like a whisper. “I’ll keep leaving them, you know. Notes, I mean. Just in case.”
“In case of what?”
“In case you ever need a reminder. That I love you. That I notice the little things. That I’ll be there, even if it takes a while.”
You’re quiet, just for a moment, because the words stick in your throat. He always knows how to get to the heart of things, how to make you feel so understood. “I don’t need a reminder for that,” you say. “But I’ll still read them every time I miss you.”
“Then I guess it’s a good thing I’ve written so many,” he murmurs, the warmth in his voice unmistakable. “Get some sleep, okay? I’ll be home before you know it.”
You nod, letting your eyes close. “I love you, Spencer.”
“I love you, too,” he replies, his voice like a gentle embrace over the line. “Sleep well.”
The call ends, but you hold the phone to your chest, listening to the quiet in your room. For the first time in days, it doesn’t feel lonely. Spencer may be miles away, but his words are here, resting against your heart, waiting for you in every corner of every room.

bad habits suna rintaro x reader
― tags gender neutral reader, fluff, childhood friends to lovers
― notes wc is around 1.2k, maybe ooc suna, thank you for 100 followers, here's my gift to you <3
rintaro has many bad habits.
he’s well aware of them — so much so that he has a mental list of them. number 5 on the list is how he gets lazy during volleyball matches whenever he knows his team is in the lead. number 4 is how he never bothers to even attempt to mediate fights. though, he figures that one hardly counts as a bad habit, seeing as it’s the result of spending years around the miya twins. they would rather die than let anyone but kita or their mother get in between of their debacles.
“tell me a secret, rin,” you hum into the phone.
you and rintaro have ingrained late-night phone calls into your routines after graduating high school and separating your own ways. with him working as a professional volleyball player, you hardly see each other anymore. he's always too busy with traveling and training, despite the fact you still live in the same city. although he knows you’d never tell him, he’s aware that you were upset when he began to have less and less time to talk to you. after all, he hadn’t spent the majority of his life with you to not know what makes you tick.
so, even though he’s stumbling over his own feet walking home, he’s still on the phone with you. he vaguely understands what you say before spouting out the first thing he thinks of — another bad habit of his.
number 3: he loses his filter when he’s tired.
rintaro never had much of a filter to begin with, but his reserved nature essentially acted as one. he was certainly less blunt than people like kita and atsumu. as the years passed, though, it was made apparent to him that he became more curt with his words when in dire need of rest. he surmises that it’s something that happens to everybody, though, so he forgives himself for it.
“you know, i used to like you when we were kids,” he mumbles. “actually, it lasted until high school.”
you sputter on the other end, choking on your water. rintaro laughs at your incessant coughing.
“that was not funny! and, what? suna rintaro, are you drunk right now?” you yell into the receiver. the volume of your voice makes him wince, forcing him to tug his phone away from his ear. regardless, he laughs a little harder.
“full name? what happened to rin?” he almost whines, kicking a rock. you grumble on the other line. “and i’m not drunk.”
“rin,” you sigh, and he smiles at the nickname. “i know you like to fuck around with people, or whatever, but this isn’t something to joke about.” your tone is serious, almost scolding. rintaro only frowns. he’s not lying. he wouldn’t lie about something like this. he couldn’t, especially to you.
“i’m not joking, i swear. i did like you… or, still do?” he thinks aloud, questioning himself. rintaro is barely registering what he’s saying — mind fuzzy from the harsh day. his coach was particularly unforgiving today, leaving him sore and tired as he drags his feet back to his apartment. still, he continues. “yeah, still do, actually.”
“rin,” you say, exasperated, “you like me? as a friend, you mean?”
even in his slightly delirious state, rintaro can tell you’re trying to save face — for you or for him, he’s unsure. what he does know is that you’d never thought he’d see you in a romantic light. it was his fault, really — you’d always been a hopeless romantic, but rintaro knew you’d considered him off-limits. aside from your long-term friendship, there was also his disinterested approach to dating.
if only you knew how wrong you were.
he was never uninterested in dating — he just always had his eyes on you. that was where another bad habit of his shone through — number 2: he never tells anyone, anything. that, mixed with his hard-to-read demeanor, meant that nobody truly knew how he felt about you. of course, those around him could tell that you were close. everybody knew that you and rintaro had grown up together, so it was only a matter of time until people started assuming that the two of you had something more. while rintaro never gave those people the time of day, you’d always nervously deny their pries.
atsumu and osamu would always tease him (and sometimes, you) about it, but they quickly learned to give up once they saw his feigned indifference toward the subject and your immediate rejection to their statements. his default response was to brush them off — he’d rather die than give the twins out of all people anything to use against him, especially if it was about you. he’d never see the light of day again if miya atsumu was found teasing rintaro about something.
“rin? hello?” your voice echoes throughout his head, forcing rintaro into reality.
“yeah, sorry,” he mumbles. he’s considering taking his word back — telling you that yeah, he does mean it as a friend. but he decides that he’s already too deep in and fuck it, he’s going to tell you.
“i do like you…more than a friend. i have for a while, and i know it’s my fault that you had no idea, but i guess i’m telling you now?” rintaro grimaces at the uncertainty in his own voice. he’d always been so sure of himself — or, at least put effort into appearing as such. you’ve always been the exception to that, though, and he supposes that’s a fact that’ll never change.
a beat of silence passes until you reply.
“yeah. it is your fault.” you breathe.
suddenly, all the air is gone from rintaro’s lungs. it forces him to stop in the middle of the sidewalk, shoes skidding against the concrete. his grip on his phone tightens, and he’s considering mumbling out some half-assed excuse about how he is, in fact, drunk. he’ll pray that you believe him, so he can run back to his apartment and maybe actually get drunk before pretending that everything is okay.
thousands of thoughts run through his head. some of them are about how he’s going to play this off, while others are about where you stand with him now. is this what being a setter feels like? having to go through hundreds of different situations to decide what will bring the best outcome? how shitty. he vaguely feels sympathy for atsumu.
that is, until your laugh fills the air around him.
“but you’ve told me now, so i think you should turn around.”
he spins on his heel, coming face-to-face with you. your appearance is disheveled, looking as if you just ran to him — which, you did, based on the harsh breaths you’re taking — and you only have a thin t-shirt and sweatpants on. your phone is still by your ear, grinning at him. it’s childish and hopeful, reminding rintaro of the smiles you would send his way when the two of you would play on the swings during recess. he adored them just as much then as he does now.
rintaro has many bad habits. he’s aware of them, and despite what others may say, he’s come to terms with them.
but as he rushes forward and cups your face into his hands, he knows what he’d say if someone were to ask him what his worst habit was.
number 1: he can never say no to you.

Pairing : Idol!Han Jisung x F!Reader TW : cheating ; breakup ; regret ; very angsty ; surprise pregnancy ; Word Count : 3.5k Request : it was the winner of the poll, does that count? A/N : Here we go!! Gonna make this one hurt!
You sat on the couch, knee bouncing, phone in your hand, watching as the clock at the top of your lock screen switched to 3 in the morning. Not a single text, not a call, nothing from the man whose selfie adorned your lock screen with his puffy cheeks and his adorable smile that you fell in love with every single time he flashed it at you. You had gotten nothing since he had left for the award show almost 9 hours ago, the award show that you had watched from start to finish, even catching the moment when all of the artists had gotten up to start heading out. He wasn’t there anymore… But he sure as hell wasn’t home.
Maybe he just went back to the dorms… Was what you had thought at first, just a simple thought to try to ease your mind and keep you from thinking the worst, but if that were the case you were sure that he would have texted you to let you know instead of keeping you up all night waiting for some type of communication. Had something bad happened? No, you would have seen it on the news and you were sure that you would have heard something by now. No… He was just ignoring you… Maybe he was just drunk.
Either way, you wanted to call him just to be sure, especially since you were tired of waiting around for him. You dialed his number and let it ring, and maybe you should have hung up after the third ring to save yourself the heartache that came once the phone was answered. Not by him though, by someone else… You wished it had been one of the guys, but it wasn’t… It was a girl, one that sounded drunk and flustered and… God, you didn’t even want to think about the sinful noises that were made between each word as you heard your fiance's drunken giggles in the background mixed with his own noises… Noises that you had heard on multiple occasions when you were the one sharing the bed with him.
“Sorry… wrong number…” You had mumbled, trying to hold back the sobs that were caught in your throat, feeling like they were going to choke you completely. You couldn’t breathe, your vision was a blur, the room felt like it was spinning, but you knew that the nauseous feeling wasn’t from being dizzy… No… it was from knowing that the man that you had planned on spending the rest of your life with, the man that you were willing to devote the rest of your life to was lower than low… And the men that you had trusted to look out for you like brothers look out for their sisters had most likely cheered on that man when he took another woman into his bedroom.
It was hard to remember when you fell asleep, but you knew that you didn’t do it on purpose considering you woke up on the couch the next morning curled up in the fetal position. Your eyelids felt heavy and the sunlight that poured in through the open window burned your sensitive eyes that had been draining tears like a faucet the night before. “Looks like someone fell asleep while watching the award show. You’re so cute, shnookems.” Jisungs voice sounded out from somewhere close by, although your sleep and tear blurred vision made it hard to focus on where he truly was.
You would have just thought that the night before was a bad dream, just some awful nightmare that you had since he wasn’t at home next to you, but when he let out that quiet little giggle it brought you back to the phone call and you felt sick all over again. “I hate you…” You said as flatly as possible, wiping the sleep from your eyes to finally focus on him, the way his smile faded to a look of shock at what you had said. “Don’t… Don’t talk to me… I hate you… I’m done with you.”
Not even a good morning, nothing to start the day so that you could lead into the breakup. You went straight for it, diving headfirst into the conversation. “Wh-What are you talking about? Babe, come on… That’s… That’s not funny. Come on… You must have had a bad dream or something… let’s get you some coffee.” He stammered, pushing himself up off the recliner to walk over to where you were now sitting up on the couch, fresh tears already brewing on your bottom lashes.
His hands were outstretched, waiting for you to grab them or maybe even take your place between his arms, but you smacked them away, shaking your head as you glared up at him. “You’re shit! You’re a lousy, no good, cheater! And don’t you even try to lie to me and say that you didn’t because I fucking heard you, Jisung!” You shouted, although your voice cracked on multiple occasions. You were devastated, heartbroken, but most of all you were pissed.
So badly you wanted him to deny it, to tell you that it wasn’t true, but his hesitation and the look of guilt that washed over his features was enough for you to know that it hadn’t been a bad dream, that what you heard was real. “Babe… Let’s just… Can we talk about it?” He whispered, keeping his hands at his sides although you could see in the way that they were twitching that he wanted nothing more than to hold you, although you would have just pushed him away if he tried to.
“Talk about what? I don’t want to hear lies or excuses. I heard enough last night. I waited up for you after the fucking show, I waited until 3 in the goddamn morning… And I called you… And some… Some other girl answered and I… I fucking heard everything. You disgust me! I want nothing to do with you!” You finally pushed yourself off the couch, trying to move past him, but his arms wrapped around you, trying so hard to keep you from walking away. “Don’t! Don’t touch me!” You screamed, pushing him away from you.
It seemed so hypocritical for him to be crying right now, especially since you were the one that had been cheated on, but alas, the tears that flowed down your cheeks were perfectly mirrored on his face. “I was drunk! I was drunk and I know that’s not an excuse, but I really… I truly didn’t mean it! I swear to god, I didn’t!” He sobbed, taking tiny steps towards you, but for each small step that he took, you took two more back. “Baby… please… I love you so fucking much… I… I can’t breathe… I just… I need to know that things will be okay. I can… I’m sorry… If you need space, I can do that… Just don’t… Don’t leave me… Please.”
“How…” You scoffed, shaking your head, laughing in both shock and disbelief at the audacity that he had to even try to plead. “How can you possibly be so fucking selfish? You don’t have the right to tell me not to leave after you cheated on me. I’m done. We’re over. You can…” You pulled the ring from your finger, the ring that you promised that you’d never take off… But that was before all this, before you knew how he really was. “You can have this back, I don’t want it. I don’t want any parts of you. I’m so fucking glad that this happened before I was dumb enough to marry you.” You threw the ring to the floor right at his feet, the diamond facets reflecting the light of the sun. “Don’t call me, don’t text me, don’t try to have one of the guys try to get in touch with me either. I don’t want anything to do with you or anything that you do once I walk out that door.”
“Then don’t walk out…” The words rushed out as he swiped the ring off the floor and ran over to where you were standing. “I’m stupid… I’m so stupid. I don’t want to lose this… I don’t want to lose you. One chance… I just want one chance to prove to you that… That I didn’t mean to do it, I’ll never do it again. It was a mistake!”
“Would you just stop already?!” You hissed, whipping around on your heel to face him as he followed you into the bedroom. “This is hard enough for me, and I don’t need you hounding me about how sad you are because you fucked up. You don’t deserve a second chance, you don’t deserve anymore chances because you’re a cheater, and once a cheater, always a cheater. So either help me pack my shit up so I can get the fuck away from you, or go sit and wallow in your self pity in the living room while I do it myself.”
///
“So you’re not gonna say anything about it? You’re not even gonna tell him?” Soobin asked as he sat across from you in the little cafe. He had been your savior since you had left Jisung, allowing you to crash in the dorms at night until it got to the point where he eventually just told you that you might as well live there. He and the rest of the boys rarely ever saw the ones that you were trying to avoid unless they were on music shows, but Jisung was none the wiser that you, Soobin, and the rest of the guys had gotten so close. It made it easy to stay with them and practically hide out in their dorm until you made enough money to get a place of your own.
“Soob… With all due respect, I haven’t even had the time to process it myself, and the last thing I want to deal with is my ex fiance coming back into my life when it’s been turned upside down once again.” You retorted, running your hands over your face as you let out a loud sigh. “I’ve got so much shit that I have to figure out, and I have less than 4 months to do it. I’m stressed enough as it is… I don’t need him to add onto that.”
It was crazy, but you were pregnant, and to find out when you were already 5 months along was even crazier. You hadn’t gained any weight that you knew about, and even if you did gain anything, it wasn’t enough for you to think that it was from anything but maybe eating a little bit more than you usually would. You had experienced no symptoms at all, and you were so stressed with life itself that you hadn’t even cared for the fact that you might have missed a few periods, you even accompanied the lateness to the overload of stress.
It wasn’t until you felt something weird, the movement in your stomach, that you asked Yeonjun to take you to the hospital because you had for some reason assumed that you had somehow gotten worms. “But it would be his kid, right? I mean… Doesn’t he have the right to know? I’m not telling you to do it now… But… I mean… it’s his kid.” Soobin tried to reason with you, and you hated that you had decided to confide in one of the two level headed ones in the group, but he was also easier to talk with and you were closer with him than the others.
“I’m not going to hide it from him… I’m just not ready to tell him yet. Let me work this out in my own head first and then I’ll drop the bomb on him.” Although you weren’t sure if you actually wanted to tell him. Sure, it was his child, but you also didn’t want to have to deal with sharing custody of this surprise child with your cheating ex. It would be so much easier to just raise the baby yourself and if anyone asked, you could just say that it was someone else’s, although that felt morally wrong… But then again, what Jisung did was morally wrong as well. “I’ve got to figure out housing, I’ve got to tell my boss… It’s a lot… I don’t want to deal with him right now.”
Soobin nodded, humming understandingly as he reached across the table, placing his hand over top of yours that was drumming nervously against the wooden top. “It is a lot, and that’s why me and the guys are going to help you. You can continue staying at the dorms, even after the baby is born if you don’t find a place soon enough. We will help you.” And maybe it was the hormones that caused it, but the kindness of his words and the softness in his eyes had you uncontrollably weeping in the tiny cafe. “Oh boy… Uhm… Come on… Let’s get you back home.”
///
Jisung sat in the interview chair, his mind cloudy from lack of sleep. Promotional tours and mini shows had him exhausted, and working on the new album kept him busier than he usually would be. He was thankful for it though, unable to think too much about his mistakes, having no time to think about you and what you might be doing. He missed you, but it was clear from the lack of texts or calls back that you didn’t feel the same. Maybe you had blocked him, and he wouldn’t blame you if you did, but it would be better that way so you wouldn’t have to read the texts that he sent you daily about how sorry he was and how much he loved you.
“Are you ready to start?” The interviewer asked, and all the guys nodded in unison, all except Jisung who was trying his best to just keep his head from falling forward and dozing off. “Great! So, my first question is for Han…” The sound of his name had his eyes shooting open, pretending that he wasn’t on the verge of passing out right then and there, nodding to let the interviewer know that she could keep going. “So, we’ve all read the headlines and, we’ve come up with our own conclusions regarding some recent events in your life…” The vagueness had Jisung lowering his eyebrows questioningly, waiting for her to get to her point, but a part of him had a sinking feeling on where the question was going. “How do you feel about your ex fiancee being seen out on dates with another idol?”
Jisung wasn’t very up to date on current news, especially in the world of music considering he had his own headlines to make with the upcoming album. He hadn’t seen anything about you being out on dates with anyone, especially another idol, and he surely hadn’t heard about it in his little circle of other famous friends. He wasn’t even sure if what the interviewer was saying was true, but if it was, his genuine reaction would be heartbroken, but he had to play it off like he wasn’t. “Well, we’ve been apart for… For a while now and… Well, if whoever she’s with is making her happy, who am I to be upset about that. I want nothing but the best for her and whoever she may be with…” He said, trying his best to sound confident, but he was already getting choked up and he felt his eyes glossing over as tears threatened to fall. “Can we take a quick break? I’m sorry.”
Minho was quick to follow behind the younger man who had rushed into the closest corner as he tried to cry as quietly as possible, which was quite hard, and it felt like all the eyes in the room were on him right now. “Hey… Hey, come on man. Calm down. We don’t even know if it was Y/N that was in whatever pictures that the interviewer was talking about. It could have been anyone, and you know that sometimes interviewers say things to try to get certain reactions out of us. It’s okay…” He tried to pat Jisungs shoulder in an attempt to calm him down, but when the younger man turned around he was an absolute wreck.
“But what if it is her? I know it’s been months, and I know I fucked up, but I don’t want her with anyone else. I want to be the one to make her happy and take her on dates. I want to be the one that comes home to her at night and cuddles up next to her.” Minho grimaced at the cringy images that were being painted in his mind right now, but he tried to hide it, he was really trying to be there for Jisung even though he knew what had happened, and if asked to take a side, although not in front of Jisung, he would take yours in a heartbeat. “What other idol would do that? I’m so nice to everyone… Who would take her from me like that? Why?”
Minho shook his head, taking a deep breath through his nose and letting it out slowly. “I think you’re getting way ahead of yourself. You need to calm down and finish the interview, and then we’ll go home and work things out after we figure out what is going on. Okay?” Minho offered, and in the back of his mind he was hoping that whoever it was in the picture wasn’t you because that would surely only make things worse, and Minho didn’t want to see Jisung worse than what he was right now.
///
“What are you talking about?” Soobin asked, and you turned the corner of the hall to look at him, about to open your mouth to question what he was talking about or who he was talking to, but he quickly lifted his finger to his lips in a motion for you to stay silent, which you quickly obliged to. “Jisung, she’s not here. I don’t know what pictures you thought you saw, but I really think you’re freaking out for no reason.” He put his phone on speaker so you could listen, and part of you wished that he hadn’t because hearing Jisung put two and two together was making you freak out just as much as he was.
“I’m not freaking out for no reason!” Jisungs shrill voice screeched through the speakers of Soobins phone. “I know what my fiancee looks like! I’ve had multiple photos taken of her and I like that! I know that’s her! Why are you with her?! You took her from me!” He continued shouting, and you could hear his voice breaking at the end of each sentence and then the heavy shaking breaths as he tried to catch his breath between crying and speaking.
Soobin shook his head, his fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. Clearly Jisung wasn’t going to back down, and you didn’t want Soobins life to be made harder by Jisungs constant badgering, so just as Soobin was about to speak, you spoke up. “He didn’t take me from you.” You stated matter-of-factly, and Soobins mouth fell open as silence filled Jisungs end of the line. “You cheated on me. You caused this. And you can stop attacking him. It’s not like we’re together, I’m not with anyone right now because I’ve got bigger things to deal with and handle then finding someone else to be in my life.”
You heard Jisung gasp, and then the shuffle of feet as he seemingly ran off somewhere, maybe somewhere more private, or maybe somewhere where all of the guys were, you weren’t quite sure. “Why… Why are you hiding from me? Why are you ignoring me? I just want to see you… I just… I need to see you. I fucked things up, I get that… But… Maybe we can be friends… I still want you in my life, Y/N…” He whispered, and it made it clear that wherever he went, it was far away from anyone and everyone. “Can we just meet up or something? I can even come over to their dorms if you don’t want to be alone with me… Just… Something, anything… please?”
You looked around the dorm that was littered with boxes from nursery furniture, a stockpile of diapers, wipes, and baby bottles and powdered formula just so that you’d be ready. There was no way in hell that he’d be able to come over here and see you without figuring out what was going on. “No… I… I don’t want to see you.” You muttered, biting your bottom lip, and for some reason, foolishly waiting for Jisung to understand.
“Well… I don’t care. I want to see you and… And I’m coming over. I’m coming over to see you dammit.” He said, and before you or Soobin could argue against it, the call had ended, leaving you and Soobin to stare at each other with panicked eyes. This wouldn’t end well… There’s no way it could.

Hey! Could I request a Shadow the hedgehog x fem reader where she’s super depressed and always has been, but she means everything to Shadow? He’s constantly trying to protect her, even from herself (self harm), because he sees so much of Maria in her. It makes him a bit obsessive, like he can’t bear to lose her. Lots of angst but maybe a hopeful ending?"
is this what i have become?
WARNING: Depression, mentions of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, obsessive tendencies
PAIRING: Shadow The Hedgehog x (Fem) Depressed! Reader
NOTE: Please read with care. I hope you can find some catharsis in the story, and remember that help is always available if you need it. Take care of yourselves.
SUMMARY: Shadow the Hedgehog has always been by your side, a silent protector. But the more he tries to shield you, the deeper you fall into your own despair.
It was another late evening, the room dim and quiet except for the soft hum of the outside world, which felt too far away to reach. You sat on the edge of your bed, an open book in your lap, though the words were just a blur at this point. It was hard to focus. Your mind was always drifting, weighed down by the ever-present heaviness that never seemed to lift.
Shadow was nearby, as he often was. His presence was constant, lingering like a dark guardian at the edge of your thoughts, protective yet heavy with unspoken tension. You knew why. He saw something in you—something that reminded him of her. Maria.
You’d never brought it up. You didn’t need to. It was clear in the way he looked at you, the way he stayed by your side, never leaving for too long, as though he was afraid that if he did, you’d disappear, just like she had. He wasn’t just trying to protect you; he was trying to save you.
But that was the problem. You didn’t feel like you could be saved.
The book in your lap was one you’d picked up in a vain attempt to distract yourself, to focus on something other than the numbness that had become your constant companion. You flipped another page, not really reading. One passage caught your eye, though, standing out in the blur of words:
The fragility of the species was not just a testament to evolution but a symbol of overdevelopment to the point of self-destruction.
When you closed the book, your gaze drifted toward Shadow. He stood in the corner of the room, arms crossed, watching you with that unreadable expression he always wore. You wondered if he thought the same of you. You often feel like those creatures—too fragile for this world, collapsing under the slightest pressure. Your body, your mind—both seem to be breaking down, unable to withstand the forces around you, yet here you were, still standing, much like the last surviving member of an endangered species, teetering on the edge of extinction.
Shadow didn’t say anything. His silence was telling. He didn’t need to speak to make his point. He was there to protect you, not to offer philosophical musings. But it made you wonder if, one day, he would see that his protection was futile—that, like those fragile creatures, you were destined to break, no matter how hard he tried to save you.
The thought left a bitter taste in your mouth. You looked away, the weight of everything pressing harder against your chest. How could you explain to him that you weren’t strong like him? That the very act of existing felt like too much sometimes?
“You’re quiet tonight.” His voice cut through the stillness, low and controlled, like always. Shadow rarely broke his calm demeanor, even when the situation called for it. He didn’t need to raise his voice to make himself heard.
“I’m just tired,” you replied, though that was only half the truth.
Shadow didn’t move, his red eyes piercing through the dimness, watching you closely. “You’re always tired,” he murmured, his voice soft but edged with concern. He knew, of course. He always knew when you were struggling more than usual, but tonight, the weight was unbearable.
You stood abruptly, the book falling off your lap as you moved toward the window, needing space, needing air, but finding none. The room felt too small. You felt too trapped. It had been like this for days now—no, for years, ever since you could remember. The depression had always been there, gnawing at you from the inside, and despite Shadow’s constant presence, you couldn’t shake the feeling that you were slowly crumbling away.
And then, before you realized what you were doing, your fingers found the cold handle of the blade you kept tucked away in a drawer. Your mind raced with thoughts of escape, of an end to the pain that had haunted you for so long. You were going to bring it to the other room with you, but before you could do anything, Shadow was there. He moved like a shadow himself, quick and deliberate, positioning himself between you and the door, blocking any way out.
He stepped forward, slow and deliberate, like he was sizing up the situation. Maybe he is, you thought. Maybe he’s calculating the precise force it would take to disarm you without causing injury, or the fastest way to get the blade out of your hand.
You looked at him, tears threatening to spill, and for a moment, you wondered if Shadow—this strong, quiet being who had been through more than most could even comprehend—could understand desperation.
“Put it down,” he said, his voice calm but firm, his eyes never leaving yours. “You don’t need that.”
Your knuckles are changing color as you grip the handle, the steel biting into your skin as if it too understands the pain clawing inside you. Shadow’s crimson eyes don’t waver. His gaze is a heavy, constant pressure—he’s assessing, strategizing, always in control. And yet... something flickers in those eyes. Fear? No, not fear. Desperation.
“You’re not thinking clearly,” he says, voice as calm and measured as ever, but there’s an underlying current, a tension he can’t quite mask. He’s trying to stay composed, but you know him better than that. He’s scared.
“I don’t think I’ve ever thought clearly,” you whisper, your voice sounding alien to your own ears. The room feels too small, like the walls are closing in. You can feel the air between you both, thick and suffocating.
You hesitated. The ache inside you screamed for release, for a way out, but Shadow’s presence, his unwavering strength, kept you grounded. He was always there, always watching, always ready to intervene. And in this moment, he was the only thing tethering you to the world.
“I’m not… like you,” you whispered, your voice shaking. “I’m not strong. I can’t… I can’t do this anymore.”
He stepped closer, his movements careful, deliberate. “You are strong,” he said quietly. “You’ve survived this long. That’s more strength than you realize.”
You shook your head, tears slipping down your cheeks now. “But I’m not. I’m nothing. You… You’re strong, Shadow. You’ve been through so much, and you’re still standing. I can barely make it through a day.”
Shadow’s eyes softened in a way that made your heart ache. He didn’t often show vulnerability, but here, now, you could see the cracks beneath his stoic facade.
“I’m not as strong as you think,” he said, his voice quieter now, almost a whisper. “I’m not invincible. I’ve lost people I care about. I’ve failed before… But I won’t fail you. I won’t lose you.”
When you’d first met Shadow, you hadn’t understood why he was drawn to you, why he stayed, despite the darkness that clung to you. But over time, you’d realized it wasn’t about you, not really. It was about something deeper in him, something broken. You reminded him of her—Maria.
You hated that. Hated that you were a stand-in for a ghost, someone he could never save. It wasn’t fair to him, and it wasn’t fair to you.
But that didn’t stop the connection from forming, binding you two in ways neither of you could explain. It wasn’t healthy. It wasn’t right. But it was real, and that’s all you had.
“I’m not her,” you whispered, barely able to get the words out. “I’m not Maria.”
Shadow’s eyes softened, the faintest flicker of pain crossing his features. He knew that, of course he did. But knowing didn’t change the way he looked at you sometimes, like you were his last chance to fix something broken deep inside himself.
You could see the pain in his eyes, the weight of his past bearing down on him just as much as your own struggles weighed on you. He wasn’t just trying to protect you from the world—he was trying to protect you from yourself, from the darkness that had consumed so much of his life.
“Shadow… I…” You didn’t know how to finish that sentence, how to explain the turmoil inside you. It wasn’t just the depression. It was the constant feeling of being not enough, of being broken beyond repair.
“I don’t want to lose you.” he says finally, the words almost a growl, like they’re ripped from him against his will. He doesn’t say things like this—he doesn’t need to. His actions have always spoken louder than words. But now, faced with the possibility of losing you, he’s breaking his own rules.
“You don’t even like me,” you retort, your voice shaking, barely more than a whisper. “You don’t like yourself.”
His expression doesn’t change, but you can tell the words hit him. They hang in the air between you, heavy and undeniable. He’s never been good at hiding his disdain for himself, for the creature he believes himself to be. He knows he’s broken too, and maybe he is. But he’s strong. So much stronger than you.
“You’re wrong.” His voice is lower now, almost pleading. “You mean everything to me.”
He reached out, gently taking the blade from your hand, his touch firm but careful, never letting go of you. He tossed the knife aside and pulled you into his arms, holding you close, his grip strong but not suffocating. He’s not just trying to protect you—he’s holding on, desperately. Like if he lets go, even for a second, you’ll slip away, just like Maria did.
You swallow hard, tears burning at the edges of your eyes. You don’t want to hurt him. You don’t.
You buried your face in his fluffy chest, the tears coming harder now, and for the first time in a long time, you allowed yourself to cry. Allowed yourself to feel the pain that had been building up for so long.
“I won’t let you break,” he whispered, his voice low and fierce. “Not like this. You mean everything to me.” He repeated.
His words hung heavy in the air, and despite the darkness inside you, there was something in his voice that made you believe him, even if just for a moment. Maybe you weren’t as strong as him, but in his arms, you felt like you could be. And maybe, just maybe, that was enough.

Francis Mosses (The Milkman) Headcanons ~!
a / n ~ havent written fanfic in a while and ive been a little obsessed with tnmn recently so i decided to write my little hcs for milkman! relatively wholesome and more just me giving him lore :3
GREW UP AS A MIDDLE CHILD, which is why he's so reserved and quiet. Doesn't really like the spotlight on him and lives his quaint life by himself satisfied.
TOOK PIANO LESSONS WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER. Still has that skill but typically doesn't like to flaunt. Has a humble old piano in his apartment he plays but very softly to not disturb his neighbors.
HE WORKS ANOTHER JOB AT NIGHT, WHICH IS WHY HE’S ALWAYS SO TIRED. His milkman job is a part-time job, hence why he rarely shows up during doorman afternoon shift. I'd like to think he works double to either help support his parents, child support for Anastasha, or saving up to buy a house of his own.
BIG SOFTIE FOR SMALL CREATURES. When he does his milkman runs around the block, he definitely pets the local strays and feeds them spare crackers he may have packed for lunch. He wishes he could keep one but doesn’t really have the time and plus the apartment complex doesn’t allow pets because of doppel precautions!
HES A BIT OF A MESS. but if he's not sleeping throughout the day, he definitely makes an effort in cleaning his place up and making a proper meal for himself. On overwhelming workdays though, his clothes are scattered everywhere and it's quick and easy meals for dinner.
HES A DISTANT FATHER. there's no way he ISN’T in contact with Nacha. They live in the same complex for crying out loud! He knows he's the father of Anastasha, however, was too scared to take on the responsibility of fatherhood, esp since this was in his early 20s. However, he does keep in contact with Nacha about updates and they are still on speaking terms.
BARELY SOCIALIZES WITH NEIGHBORS. He isn't necessarily buddy-buddy with any of his neighbors, however there is some acquaintance with Angus and Izaack (mainly because of their extroverted personalities, they must be known by everyone in the complex!).
SUPER SHY to physical affection or any type of affection for that matter. I feel like it would take a good while for him to do any sort of first moves. He would do a little secret admiring from afar just to warm up to it. Nothing too intense. Maybe leaving a rose or a nice compliment on the front desk while no one is looking. Definitely had to be hyped up by Isaack to go through with it. (I’m currently writing a fic about it!)
~~~~~~~
short but detailed. these are just my little thoughts :)
ᰔᩚಎ — 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋 𝐈𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐌𝐘 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋
— ໒person on da block꒱ ichigo kurosaki ೀ you weren't a big fan of rock, but maybe being dragged to a rock concert and after party isn't too bad !
— ໒including package꒱ ೀ rockstar! ichigo, ichigo is kind of a mean dom, spanking, degrading (slut, whore, etc...), pet names (baby, pretty, etc...), ichigo is kind of obsessed idk, unprotected sex (wrap for you tap kids), fat dick ichigo, daddy kink, fingering, creampie, implied use of alcohol, hair pulling, spit kink !
You weren’t a big fan of rock music, but your best friend loved it; her favorite band was coming to town, and she was a certified groupie. You didn’t want to leave her there alone, because what kind of best friend would she be to avoid going to the most important moments of her life?
Tee was so excited, she could not even focus on doing her makeup. All she could do was stare at the poster hanging high on her dorm wall as you lay on your bed scrolling through your phone, looking at other people's stories. “What’s so good about these guys?” You asked, and Tee almost broke her neck looking back at you.
“THEE ICHIGO KUROSAKI is coming to our town; I have to be there!” She practically screamed at you, shoving her poster in your face. You looked at the poster with the four guys on it and asked, “Is this Ichigo?”
“Nah, that’s Renji; this is Ichigo” Tee guided your hand to where Ichigo was on the poster. “He is attractive, but what’s the hype?” “You’ll see.” Your best friend smiled as she finished her makeup and turned to look in the full-body mirror.
“Alright, let’s go. Do you have your ID because they are strict at concerts?” You checked your bag to look for your ID in your purse and nodded to confirm. You and Tee finally took an Uber down to the already-crowded arena. You saw so many girls; some were half-naked, and some looked like they hadn’t slept in days.
Maybe this was a bigger deal than you thought, but then again, you weren’t too pressed about this concert, but you did have a good time, so why not? You saw Tee fight tooth and nail to get front-row tickets; she saved for months and got you and her a ticket, and not only that, she won backstage tickets, so you had to go.
The concert was deafening, and you felt your body would hurt terribly when you woke up in the morning. Tee even showed her tits; all you could do was laugh and shake your head. But who said they couldn’t have fun either? Even though you didn’t know any of the songs, you still danced and had fun.
Your best friend was dragging you everywhere after the concert was over; she wanted to get backstage so she could bat her eyelashes and you both would be able to go to another artist's after-party. Tee was perfect at getting you both into the after-parties. You weren’t as wild as Tee, but you did love a good hook-up here and there.
You waited for Tee outside the backstage door; all you could see was the long line of girls bum-rushing to meet the boys. You were so glad that you didn’t want to meet anybody; you were just back there for the food and free drinks they were serving. You saw Tee come running back to you, smirking with a piece of paper in hand.
“So I’m guessing you were successful?” You smirked.
“Yeah, and I got a little gift too.” Tee pulled her tube top down to see a signature on her right breast, signed by Renji. “Oh, bitch.” You both laughed. “Look, you gotta do what you gotta do.” Tee pulled her top up and shoved the piece of paper in her top.
“I want to go back to our dorm and change; I feel too sweaty,” Tee said while you both got in the Uber. Something about going back to your messy dorm wasn’t something you would be looking forward to. By the time you and Tee changed, it was already past midnight, and you were waiting for another Uber.
You could hear the music blasting from inside the Airbnb, you saw a lot of people on the lawn, and you could see Tee recording from inside the Uber. You were low-key tired, but you were going to keep pushing. When you got inside, the music was even louder, and your ears were ringing nonstop.
“MY TYPE OF PARTY!” Tee screamed next to you. Little did you know, when you looked to your side, Tee was gone, and you shook your head. She probably went to go find her bae for the night. But you were sure that she could take care of herself; maybe you’d be able to find her later if she wanted to be found.
You sat down on the staircase, watching and observing everyone else at the party. You finally found Tee, but she was sitting and flirting with Renji, so you knew you would probably be going back to the dorm by yourself.
“Why sitting over here by yourself”
You looked up to see a tall, shirtless figure in front of you. When he bent down to get a closer look at you, you noticed that bright ginger hair from anywhere. Ichigo Kurosaki.
“Oh, um, I’m here for moral support; my best friend is here,” you replied. Ichigo smirked, “Yeah, you’re the girl who didn’t look so interested in our concert.”
You opened your mouth, but quickly closed it; you didn’t have a snarky remark to make. Ichigo laughed, “But I guess you're here now. So, I guess you’re stuck with me for the rest of the night since Renji left me too.” Ichigo sat down on the step next to you.
“So, tell me about yourself; what’s your name, plain girl?”
“Plain? I’m past being plain; maybe your band is plain.” You replied quickly, and Ichigo laughed. “But seriously, what’s your name?” Ichigo asked with a smirk. You rolled your eyes. “Y/N,” you replied.
“Y/N? Hm, got a nice ring to it.” You laughed. “Yeah, it has a nice ring to it, right?” Ichigo smiled. “Well, Y/N, it's nice to meet you. I'm Ichigo; can I get you another drink?” You smiled and nodded, “Sure.” Ichigo winked and walked away to get your drink. You watched him as he went, a smile still on your face.
You and Ichigo were practically hip and hip all night; you don’t know if it was the alcohol talking or if Ichigo got more and more attractive as the night progressed. You and Ichigo were pinned up in the corner, lips locked together. Ichigo tongue was so smooth, and his hands were rough, but it felt so right grabbing the fat of your ass.
You could taste the alcohol and cigarettes in his mouth. It looked like you both were practically having sex in the corner of the party. “Let me take you upstairs and show you plain,” Ichigo smirked as he grabbed your hands to take you up the steps. You both stumbled up the stairs, laughing as you both tried to stay upright. You both finally made it to a room, got inside, and locked the door.
Ichigo pushed you on the bed as you spread your legs, and he got in between, smashing his lips back on yours. His lips were soft and warm as he explored your mouth. His hands roamed your body, exploring your curves and making you feel wanted. You felt your heart beating faster as you felt yourself getting lost in the moment.
Ichigo pushed your skirt up even more to get a glimpse at your red-laced underwear as he smirked back up at you. “You must want to get fucked tonight,” Ichigo smirked, licking your neck. You bit your lip and looked away, embarrassed. Ichigo leaned in and whispered in your ear, “Well, it looks like you're going to have to be a good girl for me, yeah?”
Ichigo pushed your panties to the side to feel your wet slit. “Fuck, you’re such a slut, getting wet from a little kissing, hm?”. Ichigo's fingers moved up and down, teasing your clit. You gasped and moaned; your body shuddered at Ichigo’s breath on your neck. “Please, wan your fingers,” you begged, bucking your hips into Ichigo’s hand.
Ichigo’s grin widened as he inserted a finger into your wet pussy. He slowly slid his finger in and out of your hole, his thumb gently rubbing your clit. Your moans grew louder as you felt your hips moving in tandem.
“Hnngh Ichi! I-I need more.” You whimpered, “Oh? What a greedy little whore you are, when you could barely take one finger.” Ichigo's voice was rough as he spoke, adding another finger stretching you further. You whined out in pleasure, your hand shooting to Ichigo’s wrist in an instant, his fingers never stopping as he pleasured you.
“Move your hand, girl; you got greedy, so swallow your pride and take it.” He growled as he moved his fingers faster. You gasped in pleasure, your body trembling as waves of pleasure washed over you. “Mm, yeah, that's a good girl,” Ichigo cooed as he curled his fingers, making you gasp and buck your hips.
“I-Ichiii, ah! gonna cum-” You moaned, and your eyes rolled back as Ichigo continued to tease and pleasure you. You felt your body tense as your orgasm was creeping up on you; it felt like the breath in your lungs was getting stuck. All Ichigo had to do was pinch your clit just a little as you let out a loud cry as your body shook, and you came hard, pleasure radiating through every inch of your body. “That’s it, such a good little slut.” Ichigo took his fingers out to get a taste of your essence.
“Turn around and get on your stomach.” You obeyed, feeling your heart pounding as Ichigo moved behind you. You can hear the belt cackle and clack as Ichigo pushes his jeans and boxers down, dragging you to the end of the bed. “I’ll be a gentleman and take it slow since y’re so pretty and delicate.” Ichigo grabbed your hips and thrust inside you, pushing in slowly and calculatingly, watching you to see how you would react.
“Ngh! S-so full, Ichi!” You panted as Ichigo pushed inch by inch, making your cunt flutter and squeeze. Ichigo laughed, his hips bucking against yours as he fucked you hard and steady. “Fuck y’re so tight, f’me baby,” Ichigo sank his fingers into your waist as he started to pick up the pace.
“S’good Ichigo!” You moaned into the sheets, muffling your moans, something Ichigo didn’t like because you felt your head getting yanked up by your hair, your scalp burning a bit as you gasped.
“Don’t hide your moans from me,” Ichigo hissed, spanking your ass as you cried out from the slight burn on your scalp and ass. “Daddy, fuckkk hah!” You screamed in pleasure as Ichigo pounded into you, your hips buckling up to meet his thrusts. You felt like you were going to explode as Ichigo's movements became faster and more intense.
“Sh-shit, y’re such a slut fuckin’ back into me like that,” Ichigo groaned, his hand yanking your body up so that your back was touching his chest, his tip hitting your sweet spot easier. “Open yer’ mouth and stick that slutty tongue out for me,” Ichigo whispered in your ear.
You obeyed, your tongue protruding out of your mouth as Ichigo spat in your mouth, “Now swallow it.” You swallowed his saliva with a gasp, and he chuckled. “Fuck, yer such a whore for me,” he said, before pushing you back down on the bed and slapping your ass as his pace quickened.
“Gonna cummmm” Your voice cracked as you gripped the sheets tighter in your hand, as your eyes rolled to the back of your head, your hips stuttering to meet Ichigo’s rough thrust. “Fuck me too, baby, me too,” Ichigo moaned, his thrust getting sloppy. Ichigo bent over to see your glistening eyes as he bit his lip, he could bust just looking at your pretty face scrunched up just for him.
“Yesyesyesyes!” You cried out. Ichigo leaned in and gave you a passionate kiss, his hips stuttering and slamming into you and his balls slapping into you uncontrollably. You moaned with pleasure, your body trembling as pleasure overwhelmed you. Ichigo felt you tighten around him, and you came with a loud cry of pleasure. “Fuck, so, so pretty baby,” Ichigo groaned.
“Shit, g’na give the slut just what she wants,” Ichigo panted as he kept thrusting, his orgasm quickly approaching. You whine from overstimulation; you feel Ichigo's body tense as he groans loudly as he comes, his body trembling with pleasure as he releases inside of you. His hips were still moving against you for a few moments to make sure his cum got inside, before pulling out and watching the cum ooze out.
Ichigo collapsed next to you, exhausted. You lay there for a few moments, trying to catch your breath. “You owe me $50 for a plan B.” You side-eyed Ichigo as he looked back at you and chuckled. “I gotchu ma.” Ichigo slapped your ass once again before sitting up to grab his wallet.
The Candy Man- Part Four// W.W.
Warnings/Info: cursing, fluff, lots of Wonka whimsy, Willy liking pregnancy boobs
It worked. Everything went according to plan, and your husband has no reason to believe that he wasn’t the father of your baby.
With time, your belly started to grow more and more, and luckily, so did Willy’s chocolate sales.
You were about four months along in your pregnancy when Willy gave you the news that he had bought the chocolate shoppe. He was beaming with glee and you were overjoyed for him. You wanted to help him, so you said, “How about I come and work for you?”
“Oh, no no, no heavy lifting for you, or being on your feet for hours.” he said firmly as he caressed your belly.
“Not even just as the cashier, Willy? I haven’t had a job in years since I’ve been a wife. I’d love to get back out into the world again. And be with you, of course. I’ll keep a stool nearby to sit in if I get tired, if that would make you feel better.”
Willy sighed, then he grinned at you, “Okay, you can work the register. I know that I can count on you. You did promise to help run the business side of things.” He took your hands in his, “Things are happening, y/n. I’ve saved enough money to not only to but the shoppe, but also to rent an apartment nearby. I know it won’t be as spacious and comfortable as what you’re used to, but this is just the beginning. I want you to live with me. And if things keep going the way they have been, you’ll be living like a Queen, and our baby will be the prince or princess of the Wonka chocolate empire.” Willy had put his forehead on yours.
"Oh, Willy, you have already made me the happiest woman in the world. I just know that you-that we will have everything we dream of, I'm happy to work hard, and to be with you and our child."
You and Willy were so absorbed in one another and your daydreaming, that you didn't even hear the front door of your home open.
"What. The. Fuck?" it was your husband, home early and unexpectedly from work.
You and Willy looked over at Mr. Hudson, both in shock. You didn’t know what to say.
“John, how-"
“What a fine day this is, huh? I come home with a sniffle to find my wife with the fucking…chocolate salesman?”
“John, it’s, it’s not what you-well it is actually…”
“That’s it, y/n! Tell me what the hell is going on here.” he yelled, approaching you, towering over you with his height, and actively trying to intimidate you. This was the side of him only you saw.
“John,” you trembled, “this baby isn’t yours, it’s his. I’m in love with him.”
“Ha, well you can go ahead and be in love in the streets for all I care. Get your clothes and get the hell out of my house.”
You were scared, not necessarily of John, but to leave the only home you knew. You were glad that John didn’t say or do anything to Willy.
Willy was with you as you packed, and he held your hand on the way out of the house. You thought that maybe it was a good thing that this has happened now, rather than drag it out any further.
“Alright well, let’s go check out that apartment.” Willy said in his cheery voice to help make you feel better. You knew that you were going to be happy with this man, no matter what.
You were able to close on an apartment that day, well, Willy was, as you didn’t have an income yet. But that soon changed as you went to work together in the chocolate shoppe. Within days of opening, you were making good money.
You balanced the cash drawers, and the accounting books as Willy worked hard on his sweet creations. The candy he made was as tasty as ever, and the shoppe was an absolute dream. Hoverchocs, giraffe milk macaroons, edible flowers, and lollipops as far as the eye could see. It was a whimsical, colorful, joy to behold, with a giant winding cherry tree in the middle of the shoppe. There were pink cotton Candy clouds that you could climb upon, you and Willy would sit on them and have some chocolate milk, and then eat the tea cups.
It was the most fun you’d ever had in your life. It also felt amazing to help build something from essentially nothing, and to be creative with him.
Even at home, Willy would be inventing new flavors and trying new techniques and asking for your input of course.
...........
As you went into the later months of your pregnancy, you and Willy were able to buy a house. It was no mansion, but it was big enough to accommodate a young couple and their new baby, and maybe another child down the road.
You would be at the shoppe all day, resting adequately, of course. Willy eventually gave you an office in the back room to do your accounting work, which was good for you as you were heavily pregnant, but you started to miss being out front with customers. But you knew that once the baby arrived, things would be back to normal soon.
In the evenings, your tired Willy would rest his head on your big, basketball-sized belly and sing to our unborn baby. "Come with me, and you'll be in a woorrld of pure imagination." His voice was like that of an angel, soft and soothing. You could tell that your baby was relaxed by their father's voice, because he would lull you to sleep with his sweet lullabies after a long day in the office.
You started to set up the nursery together, and it was of course candy themed, much like your chocolate shoppe. Willy had lollipop raddles and candy cane-shaped teething rings made for the baby, among lots of other colorful accessories that resembled the sweet treats that were sold in the shoppe.
Above the baby's crib was a mobile made special by Willy, they were smaller versions of the pink cotton candy clouds that hung in the shoppe. Everything was absolutely adorable, and it made your heart swell with happiness.
After looking around the baby's room, you hugged your chocolatier, "Oh Willy, I'm so happy." you nuzzled against his shirt collar as he hugged you tightly. "I can't wait to meet our baby."
"Me either, my darling." he said, kissing you on the head, and then looked at you, "But I have to say that I'll miss your boobs being so big." He then eyed the large mounds on your chest.
You laughed, "You are a typical man, Willy Wonka. You can still use them as pillows after I have the baby."
"I know, but they're just so squishy right now-" he gently cupped your breasts through your shirt, "like marshmallows, or pudding."
"Okay, okay, you better stop before you get too excited, Willy." you giggled, kissing him.
Everything in your new home came together so beautifully, and your tried to enjoy it as much as possible, even though you were incredibly tired, and your body was swollen from head to toe. Your belly had grown much bigger than you ever would have expected.
Willy was wonderful during your whole pregnancy, but he was especially attentive to you in the last month. He would make you dinner after work, and no matter how tired he might have been, he never let on to his exhaustion. He would even massage your feet before bed. His sweetness and generosity never wavered.
.......
The day finally came: the day that you and Willy became parents. He was by your side throughout the entire birthing process, encouraging you and thanking you for giving him a child. He told you he loved you over and over, and wiped the sweat off of your forehead.
Your midwife was stunned after you had your baby, because she noticed another baby coming.
A/n: I hope you all are having a great Christmas season and have a safe and happy new year! The next chapter should be better than this one. lol
“Hey, Bun. How was work?”
You meet Wriothesley with a level glare, as you fumble with locking the door. Maybe rooming with him had saved you money on rent, but what you’d saved had definitely been replaced with extra stress.
“I told you to stop calling me bunny.”
“Perhaps if you didn’t blush like that when I do, I would stop.” He replies, nursing a cup of tea and a book as he relaxes on the sofa. You glare at him again but lower yourself onto the sofa beside him.
“New delivery?” You ask, referring to the tea.
“The one that was delayed,” he says. “It was worth the wait.” He raises the cup to you and you take a sip, taking stock of all the flavours you can before Wriothesley begins to talk about it. One day, you’re sure he’ll find out that you actually have no interest in his teas, and that despite the fact he drives you mad, he’s actually just nice to listen to.
“Seems it was worth the money too,” You say once he’s finished talking. “Definitely belongs in the top ten.”
“Maybe even top five,” he replies, mostly to himself as you stand up. “More work?” he asks lightly, expecting you to grumble about how you're tired of always working, and you wish your manager would stop expecting you to work overtime for free, but this time you smile coyly.
“I have a blind date,” you say quietly, trying to ignore the way he’s looking up at you. “My friend set me up. He’s apparently a very refined, classy guy from a good family, and my friend says he thinks we’d get along well.”
“I wonder what your friend defines as a good family,” Wriothesley says, sipping his tea. “Money? Influence?” He’d never truly considered what you’d look for in a partner before, in fact, he liked to try and avoid the thought if possible. He prefers to only think about the things which affect him directly. But now the topic has been brought up, he suddenly feels strange. If coming from a good family is important to you… That would immediately take him out of the running, wouldn’t it?
“I dunno.” you shrug. “Sometimes my friend just says things. Anyway, thanks for sharing your tea. I’m gonna go get ready.”
Wriothesley watches as you walk away, sighing lightly as he takes another sip of his tea. He’s lived with you for so long that he never truly thought about how his life at home would change if you got a boyfriend. Would it mean he could no longer share his teas with you? Would he have to stop letting you sleep on him when you watch movies together?
He sits with his thoughts until he hears your keys as you leave your room.
“I’m off. Don’t stay up for me.” You smile, and Wriothesley can't help but hate himself for hating how happy you seem to be leaving. He sips his now-cold tea and nods.
“Have fun.”
“You’re grumbling. What’s the matter?” you say, pulling your jacket on.
“I am not grumbling.” he shoots back, standing up to go to the kitchen. “My tea got cold. That’s all.”
“You are so grumbling right now.” you grin. Wriothelsey doesn't know if you are purposefully ignoring his bad mood or if you're so excited about your date that you simply don’t notice, but he doesn’t really like either of those answers. “See you later!”
And then Wriothesley finds himself alone again. Maybe he’d taken it for granted that you’d always be around. Maybe he isn't as okay with the silence as he’d made himself believe he was.
Even though you told him not to wait up, he finds himself unable to sleep. He tells himself it's not because he’s worried, it's just because he had a rare lie in this morning. It's natural for his body to be slightly out of sync, right? You’re perfectly capable of taking care of yourself, and today is just like every other day and–
His phone is ringing. It’s odd for him to get called by his manager so late in the day, but it's also not rare.
It's even rarer for it to be you calling.
“Wriothesley?”
“Hey, Bun. What’s going on?” He can’t help but smile a little. There you are on a date, but you’re calling him.
“Are you busy right now?”
It's only then that he notices the wavering in your voice.
“I’m not. What’s the matter?”
“Can you come and get me? I… I’m sorry, I just don’t know who else to call.”
You sound cold, he notices. Your teeth chatter together in between your words, and the wavering in your voice seems to be getting worse.
“Where are you? Why aren’t you inside?” He grabs his keys and he’s out of the door before you even have the chance to respond. His legs are moving faster than his mind can, and he’s already halfway down the stairs before he knows it.
You tell him where you are, but pointedly avoid his second question, and he supposes that’s fair. Maybe you just don’t want to share.
“I’m coming. Don’t move.”
Even despite the fact he’s glad you called him, Wriothesley wonders why you didn’t call an Uber. You’ve always been very vocal about how much you hate his motorcycle, and how you wish he’d just get a car. is the situation so dire that you don't care anymore?
When he gets to you, you’re sat outside of an upscale restaurant. He’s sure you left with a jacket, but you don’t have it on now.
“Hey,” he says, sitting next to you. “What’s the matter?”
You burst into tears when he asks you that question, and for a second, Wriothesley has no clue what to do. It’s you who buries your face into his chest, sobbing desperately.
“It was going okay at first, but the waitress got the guy’s order wrong and he went crazy. So they asked him to pay and leave, and then he said he didn’t want to because his order was wrong. He demanded that a manager come and then he said that I should pay. And I said I’d pay for my half, but as I was saying that I wasn’t going to pay for him, the manager came and picked up the wrong end of the stick, and she wouldn’t listen to the waitress who was defending me. So she asked us both to leave, and he’s screaming his head off, and they barely even gave me time to grab my phone before they marched us out. They would have left me with him while he was blowing his top if it wasn’t for the waitress who came with me until he left.” you cling onto his jacket. “I’m so embarrassed.”
“Don’t be embarrassed.” He says lowly. “It’s not your fault. It was never your fault.” He shrugs his jacket off and puts it over your shoulders. “Show me your table. I’ll get your stuff.”
“Wriothesley, please.” You can feel the anger radiating off him, and you worry about what will happen if he ends up on the wrong side of that manager.
“You shouldn’t suffer because of a guy with no manners. Let me get your things.”
You nod but insist on staying outside. The waitress that you said helped you earlier is the one that greets Wriothesley at the door, and you watch on as she brings him your things, and he settles the bill.
“You didn’t have to do that,” You tell Wriothesley as he returns.
“I did. Shall we go?” He asks, handing you a helmet. He’d bought that helmet for you when you first moved in together, just in case you ever needed to use his motorbike, but you always refused. He’s glad that it’s finally getting used at least once.
The ride home is silent, and you don’t say anything until you get back into your apartment. The feeling of the wind against your skin and your arms around Wriothesley calms you, and even though you feel humiliated by the actions of your stupid blind date, you feel that maybe things aren’t all that bad.
“You finally stopped calling me bunny,” you say, as you flop onto the sofa. Wriothesley hums in response as he fills up the kettle. In his haste, he’d left all of the lights in the apartment on.
“Does it bother you?”
“A little.”
“You’re so contrary.” He says finally. “You say you hate me calling you bunny, but here you are. You say you hate my motorbike, but you’re okay with me using it to pick you up.”
“I don’t hate your motorcycle.” You say, sitting up to look at him properly. “I think it’s cool.”
“Right, that’s why you refused to ever be near it.”
“I just hated the thought of you getting hurt on it.” You say finally. “It scared me.” He hands you a cup of tea and sits next to you. He hadn’t expected that to be your reasoning. “A part of me hoped that you wouldn’t let me go on that date, you know.”
“Why? It’s not my place to tell you what not to do. If you want to go on a blind date, I can’t stop you.” Those are the words he’d told himself as he watched you leave—you were your own person and it wasn’t his place to try and police what you do.
“You don’t understand.”
“Maybe I don’t,” he replies. “Help me understand.”
You take a deep breath. “If I kissed you, would that help you get it?”
“I don’t know. I suppose you’ll have to try.” He smiles. He barely even gets to finish his sentence when you pull him down to you and kiss him. In all the time he imagined he’d get to kiss you, he didn't think you’d be the one to initiate–-but even still, he wraps his arms around you and pulls you closer.
“Do you get it now?” you ask giddily.
“Not quite.”
So you kiss him again and again until he gets the message.
Bonus:
“You’re not the sharpest pencil in the box, really, are you?”
“Luckily for me, you’d make a great sharpener.”
From me: Last part! (for now) I hope you like it. Thank you for sticking with it--I don't think it was very popular after all the additional parts, so I appreciate all of you for letting me finish it.
Warnings: angst but fluff. Probably need so suspend your belief a bit more (especially if you don't believe in soulmates)
Summary: She's safe. He's safe. There's nothing left to do but talk.
Harry didn’t let go of her when they put her in the ambulance. He held onto her hand the entire time. Nor when they put an oxygen mask on her beautiful face. He didn’t let go of her for one second when they arrived at the hospital.
Honestly, she couldn’t complain. She was tired. Exhausted, really. Her only other thought outside of her own traumatization of the day was that poor Harry had to be just as drained (or more) after being awake for over thirty-six hours—maybe even longer. But his hand squeezed hers while they looked her over. She held another oxygen mask over her mouth and inhaled deeply, repeatedly while Harry sat beside her on the little exam bed. It felt like she was breathing in the freshest air in the middle of the forest. But a huge part of her believed the same result would have been achieved if she hid her face in Harry’s shirt the way she wanted to and breathed in the same manner she was breathing with an oxygen mask.
“Are you feeling, okay?” The doctors asked her so many times while they ran tests and Harry seemed to hold his breath each time, like it would suddenly change.
“I’m really scared,” she admitted finally looking away from Harry’s worried eyes. “I’m so worried something’s wrong and I’m not going to notice,” her voice cracked. Harry squeezed her hand and watched her anxiously. Somehow, his smile was encouraging. But she wasn’t sure he fully believed it.
“You’re okay, baby,” he whispered quietly. But she saw it in his eyes. If he could swap places with her right then, he would have. After everything she put him through, he would still save her and take all the pain.
“I know,” the doctor looked her over sympathetically. “But I promise, I thoroughly checked everything. Your heart is strong. The oxygen is helping for sure. But to be sure, we want to keep you overnight for observation just to make sure... perhaps your boyfriend can grab you some of your belongings—”
“That’s okay,” she could see Harry was surprised to hear her say it and not himself. “I don’t want him to leave me.”
Harry thought his heart was going to break again. The word boyfriend didn’t deter her. It felt like part of his life snapped back into place. He thought the magnetic field had realigned the day he saw her in traffic, but it felt like the tilt of the earth finally righted itself to the correct position. This was it. Everything was back to normal.
At least as far as his heart was concerned.
He squeezed her hand reassuringly. “Right,” the doctor smiled. Like she already knew of their love story by just looking at them. “Well... make yourselves comfortable, then.”
There was very little Harry could do about her fear. So if it was the only thing he could do, Harry was going to ensure she was comfortable.
*
He made her laugh like he used to. Part of him worried it wasn’t good for her achy, smoky lungs, but it didn’t matter. He loved to chat with her. Harry’s fingers never released hers. But to be fair, hers didn’t let go of his either. Not even though she was certain they were a bit cramped, and her mind worried that Harry was uncomfortable situated in the chair beside the bed. Their only reprieve was using the restroom. But then it was right back to interlocked fingers and the warmth of their palms slipping alongside one another.
He loved her so painfully much. He hoped it was enough.
The hours crept by. The fire, the waiting for an ambulance, their time in the ER, the admittance to a room, it all ticked by slowly and anxiously for the pair of them. But despite how it played out, she got her time after Harry’s shift to talk with him the way he wanted—the way she wanted. They talked for so long, the sun set across the room turning Harry’s skin into this beautiful golden shade that made him look utterly gorgeous. Like a painting in the finest museums in the world. But his eyes stayed on her the entire duration of the sunset.
Once the sun was down and the only light they had was from the bathroom, (because the fluorescents were so harsh and headache inducing for the two of them long term) Harry started to yawn and seemed to continue yawning for minutes on end.
That was when she finally remembered time existed. Time ceased to have meaning while she was with Harry. That time was spent putting their lives back together piece by piece; filling in gaps they didn’t know they were missing but belonged to the parts of each other they had shared with one another ages ago—before they even started dating. When fate decided they were soulmates and they didn’t have a choice in the matter.
By that time, the clock read just past nine when she noticed his yawns were becoming more frequent. She had been pulling the oxygen mask off and on for hours. Seeing his droopy eyes made her ache for something she hadn’t had in years. He was always beautiful and perfect, but something about sleepy, vulnerable Harry made her feel like she could protect him the way he always protected her.
“C’mere,” she wiggled backwards on the small twin hospital bed. She turned on her side to create more space for him. “I think I smell all smoky,” she warned.
Normally, Harry thought he would protest. She needed the rest. She was the one that inhaled all that smoke and Harry hogging her bed with his tall frame wasn’t needed. But his body ached to be closer to her. Closer than the space between her on the bed and him keeping vigil in the chair pulled close allowed. “Think I do too,” he shrugged. They both smelled like smoke. But Harry was certain if he could get close enough, she would smell like herself too; floral, warm, and just her. Like home.
Carefully, Harry slid onto the bed with her. Their legs touched. Thigh to thigh, knee to knee, foot to foot. He placed a hand on her hip pulling her lower half toward him and leaving a space between their torsos so he could look at her perfect, beautiful face.
They fit like puzzle pieces on her small mattress. The reasoning for her hospital visit wasn’t something he would want in a thousand years, but it was almost how he imagined sleeping on her bed in her dorm. Replacing a piece of something he missed out on.
She rested one hand on his ribs, right over his T-shirt. He thought he had died—the feel of her hand on his body was warm and overwhelming. For several moments, they just stared at each other. Like Harry was worried she would disappear again. “The doctor called me your boyfriend,” he whispered eventually.
She nodded. Her cheeks turned pink. “Sorry... I...” she swallowed. “I didn’t know what to say.”
It was starting to get quiet; hospital visiting hours were long over. There was no more chatter coming from other rooms. There was only the sound of beeping machines, the nurses, doctors, and others bustling outside her door. Their gentle breaths mixing together between them.
“Kitten,” he swallowed the lump in his throat. “Are y’going t’leave me again?” His voice was low, and he hated asking the question because he thought it would upset her. Though it pained him, he needed to know. It was a risk he had to take; making her feel bad. Even if it hurt both of them.
She shook her head immediately. She drew in a deep breath and dropped her forehead forward to his chest and released the air in her lungs. “I won’t live, Harry.”
His lips quirked up into a sympathetic smile. “Think y’would, kitten,” he remarked sadly. “Y’did before.”
She shook her head again. “That wasn’t living, baby,” she murmured.
He closed his eyes and brought her hand to his mouth. “I love you so much. When y’say baby, s’like m’home. I haven’t been home kitten, not without you. Feels like I’ve been nowhere.”
“I thought nowhere was home,” she whispered, a smile in her voice.
When he opened his eyes, she was watching him. She reached for the oxygen mask again, not wanting to interrupt their moment of quiet longing, but immediately he helped her with it. He cupped her cheek around the mask and brushed his thumb along her cheek. “Why would y’listen t’her?”
She dropped her gaze. She was ashamed of herself. Listening to someone who was supposed to be her friend instead of just asking Harry what he was feeling. “I don’t know... She made sense at the time. Sometimes I think she still does... I mean don’t you want more, Harry? What if there is more out there for you than what I can offer? I couldn’t have imagined you up if I tried... but you? You always deserved more than—”
“No,” he shook his head refusing to let her short herself any longer of all the beauty she possessed, all the love, and kindness that she exuded. His hand held her cheek and he skimmed his thumb along cheekbone. “There’s no more, kitten. You’re the most. You, m’love, you are the only thing that exists for me. I’m so sorry y’were alone and felt like y’weren’t enough. You have always been more than enough. The most I could ever need. I’ve… I’ve never been so lost; I can’t imagine how y’felt.”
She turned her face toward his hand, lifted the mask so she could kiss his palm. “Why did you wait for me?” She whispered.
“Because you’re m’soulmate, kitten.”
“But... you don’t believe in those,” she whispered repeating her same statement from last night. It wasn’t something she ever dwelled on. She understood why he didn’t believe in them. Even if it was silly. But maybe it was the little bit of water that dripped into her head and watered the seed that Lauren had planted in her head a few years ago. It wasn’t his fault. Realistically, plenty of people didn’t believe in soulmates.
He shook his head, shrugged. But his eyes didn’t move from hers. “I believe you’re mine, baby.”
Her lower lip wobbled, and tears filled her vision. “I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I’m so sorry Harry,” her voice broke on every syllable. “I thought if I told you... you would convince me to stay. Then I thought staying would just make you resent me because you never got a chance to... this way... I don’t know... it’s like I’m here now, yeah? And I know now—but I should have known then, right? God Harry, this is so fucked. I fucked up so bad and—” now her monitor displayed an increased heartrate, and her breath was shallow—like she was starting to hyperventilate. So much so that Harry put the mask back over her mouth and shushed her soothingly. He stroked the remainder of her face gently with the back of his hand while her eyes wildly flitted over his face.
“You’re here now,” he told her after the heart monitor read a normal level. “And I’m never letting you get away. Never ever again.” Sighing, she closed her eyes and pressed her forehead against his chest once more. He kissed the top of her hair and just enjoyed the feeling of her in his arms. The way he dreamed of feeling her. “Gemma actually told me that—”
A spike in her monitor. “Oh my God, she’s going to hate me forever,” she cried, voice breaking. “I should have stayed away,” she moaned. He pulled the oxygen mask away and kissed her softly. It felt so normal. As everything he had felt since he started seeing her these last couple weeks. Touching her, seeing her, hearing her, all of it felt like no time had passed.
When he pulled away, his lips missing the way hers felt against his, her heart rate was steady again. Her cheeks flushed and Harry thought she tasted like smoke, but she still tasted like her too. “Baby, she does not hate you. No one hates you. I’ll make sure of it,” he assured her. “I wish y’told me, but s’not your fault.”
“You’re way too forgiving,” she grumbled.
“God, for you?” He chuckled and kissed the bridge of her nose. “I was going t’tell you that Gem won’t hate you. She said she knew y’were coming back.”
“How could she have possibly known that?”
Harry shrugged nonchalantly. “She said she felt it. She jus’ knew.” There was a prolonged moment of silence while she thought that over. While Harry continued to touch her face as if it was the only thing he was born to do.
“Wish she clued me in,” she grumbled.
He laughed quietly again.
*
When the clock read midnight, it was even quieter in the hospital room. The gentle beeping of machines started to sound like a lullaby. They had stopped talking a long time ago, but they didn’t fall asleep. It felt like making up for lost time. Harry was analyzing her face. Her pores were filled with smoke and Harry inspected the bits of glass that managed to cut her palms from her crawling to safety. He kissed her softly across her pretty face. Like a reminder to himself that she was real and tangible. His lips made a home against her temple. A spot he loved to leave his mouth pressed against—like it was home while her lips were busy.
She was weaning off the oxygen, letting a little under an hour pass in between her use of it. “Hi,” she whispered softly.
He smiled. “Hi,” he dragged his nose along her hairline and dropped a kiss to the crown of her head. She fiddled with the fabric of his shirt, right near his collar.
“What did you do while I was gone?” Her voice was quiet. Fading with sleepiness. Harry may have even blinked his eyes closed for a short nap a couple hours prior, but he was content to just stare at her. Ensure that she wasn’t going to leave again.
He trailed his fingers along the side of her face, through the bit of hair that rested against her head along the pillow. He smiled. Smiled more than he thought was possible because at the time he thought his hobby was so dumb. Felt like he was going to die most days without her because she was fresh air and his little ways of keeping himself entertained were hardly a replacement for how she would have fit into his life so effortlessly.
Now... now it seemed like the most important thing he had ever done, and it wasn’t that he had to tell her about it because she asked, he needed to tell her. “I... I got... really into carpentry.”
She snorted; a laugh followed immediately. Arguably the most beautiful sound Harry knew. “Shut up.”
“No... like...” he started to laugh with her. “Like... really into it. Made Mum a bit crazy at times, I think,” he tilted his head back. “Made tables, chairs... I fixed door frames and did trim...”
“Stop, I can’t breathe,” she laughed. The kind of laughter she felt with Addie that night they became best friends. Back when she thought she would never laugh again. “Why?” She covered her face with her hand to stifle her giggles. But Harry made her laugh like it was nothing. As if he made her laugh every day that he wasn’t around her.
He shook his head. “I don’t know...” her laugh was infectious. It made him happy to hear it and he had no choice but to laugh just as hard. “I really don’t. I feel like I should be sad telling y’about it. But I loved it. So, so much.”
“What was your favorite thing to make?”
“Chairs.”
“I think this might be worse than the smoke inhalation,” she laughed again, becoming breathless but Harry didn’t mind this kind of breathlessness. Plus, they still had her oxygen mask. Harry thought it might have been, in the very smallest of ways, good that she left if it made her laugh like this.
Eventually, her laughter died down. There was another bout of quiet for a few moments longer. Then finally Harry asked. “What did y’do?”
Harry was watching her, wiping the tears that came from her heavy laughter from the corners of her eyes. He kissed her forehead again. “I knitted.”
“What?”
“I knitted.”
“Knitted what?”
“Oh my God, Harry. Everything.” It was his turn to laugh, thinking of her surrounded with yarn, covered with yarn. Her bed and desk covered with needles, sweaters, hats, mittens.
“Y’jus’ turned into a little old grandma?” He snorted.
“Yeah, I guess,” she giggled. The clock read two in the morning. She tried to calculate it in her head, but Harry had to have been awake for nearly forty-eight hours at that point. He grabbed the oxygen mask and placed it over her mouth. They were quiet while she took in the pure air. Harry pushed her hair behind her head and trailed his fingers over her cheek.
“Do y’feel okay?” He asked.
She nodded. He put it aside again after a few moments and he kissed her forehead. “What did you miss most about me?” She whispered.
The feeling of longing overtook his body. It was so hard to imagine he had been without her for so long. When they fit together like they did on the little bed, when they sounded like happiness when they laughed together. It wasn’t just missing her. It was agony without her. Like she had taken his heart with her. “Everything, kitten,” he shook his head. “I missed everything ‘bout you.”
She sighed, looked at his chest, outlined the cross below his shirt. It was still covered in smoke and soot from carrying her out. “No, but...” she smiled softly. “Like materially—what did you miss?”
The air felt lighter and maybe she already knew he missed everything about her. The reprieve of seriousness felt a little better. There would be ample time to hash out details regarding how serious it was. How she was to never believe another person about his love for her that wasn’t him (or someone completely vetted like Louis or Sarah). “Oh,” he paused. “Those cheesy potatoes y’make for parties.”
Her laugh made him feel like he could do impossible things. It easily could have been the thing he missed most. “I’ll make them as soon as I get my hands on a kitchen.”
“Oh, baby, you are going t’make me cry,” he squeezed her and kissed the top of her head. “Did y’miss anything ‘bout me?” He asked.
“Harry,” she sighed, nosed at his chest. “Wasn’t just anything. It was everything.”
It felt like his heart was smiling. He tilted her head up and gazed into her eyes. “I meant materially,” he smirked taking her own joke.
Without hesitation, she answered. “I haven’t had my back properly cracked in three years.”
“God, I fucking love you,” he whispered.
She giggled. “I love you too,” she responded. She grabbed his cheeks, kissed his lips long enough to make him think his heart might stop, and then dropped her head back to his chest.
An undeterminable amount of time passed again. There was no more chatting or kissing. It was just nearly pathetic staring; gazing at one another waiting for the other to disappear like a mirage they didn’t know they were seeing. But her eyes drooped lower and Harry yawned. The clock read shortly after two thirty. “We should sleep.”
He shook his head, worry set deep in his eyes that she wished she could rip out and throw away. “M’afraid s’a dream.”
She frowned. “I really hope it’s not.”
He smiled, comforted by the fact the feeling was mutual. “If this is a dream,” he started. “Can y’do me a favor?” He asked. She nodded, waited. “Can y’come home t’me?”
“Yes,” she answered immediately then tucked herself further into his embrace. “As soon as I wake up,” she promised.
He smiled, kissed the top of her head again and gently rubbed a circle on her cheek with his thumb. “Hey, kitten?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you,” he reminded her.
“God Harry, I love you so much.”
Then, because there was truly nothing else that they could say of the last forty-eight hours, they fell asleep.
*
They woke up to the door slamming open against the hospital wall. Harry squeezed her protectively and her heart clenched at the motion. The clock read eleven AM exactly.
Which meant it was officially visiting hours and the first people in the room were Addie and Carter. “Move,” Addie physically pulled Harry off the bed. “You’ve had her long enough now,” she winked at her as she took his spot and kissed her forehead. Harry snorted and then laughed because Harry could never believe such a thing. He could have had her all those three years, every single day, and he would never have enough time with her. “You’re an idiot,” Addie whispered loudly so everyone could hear her say it.
Carter ignored Addie, leaned over and kissed the top of her head. “Hey Gorgeous,” he smiled giving her shoulder a squeeze. “You didn’t need to do all this to get us to visit.”
She was groggy with sleep and anxiety. “What are you guys doing here?”
“Harry called us,” Addie wiped the soot from beneath her eyes because it was still caked into her pores. At the same time, the room filled with their remaining friends. There were balloons and flowers, a massive teddy bear.
“Aw, you didn’t bring coffee?” She frowned then winked in fake disappointment.
“Oh,” Harry cleared his throat. “We can’t go to the coffee shop on Main anymore.”
She frowned immediately. This one was not fake. “How come?”
Sarah made eye contact with Harry and had a whole conversation with him just using her eyes. “I knew it,” she mumbled.
Harry scuffed his foot along the floor ignoring Sarah’s quip. “The owners of the coffee shop own the apartment building. S’a whole scandal,” he explained. Which was in part truth. He took a phone call in the early morning from the fire chief while she was fast asleep against his chest. The building was condemned and everything inside it was lost. “Insurance fraud,” he explained simply.
“Jesus,” Niall blinked rubbing a hand over his face. “Bet you’re glad y’storage unit was delayed, now, huh princess?” He smiled sympathetically.
“Oh my God, your notebooks,” Addie whispered realizing how right Niall was.
The heart monitor betrayed her with a small spike and alarm. She swallowed nervously, blushed as everyone looked at her. “Burnt toast, I guess.”
“Grim, babe,” Louis snorted making everyone laugh.
“No, it’s a theory,” she rolled her eyes. “If you burn your toast, it means you have to make new toast. Saves you from a car accident or from being in a place you’re not supposed to be at a specific time. Or you’re the fifth person in line that morning and you get a free coffee.”
“Burnt toast,” he repeated. “Well, I have saved my own life a lot of times then,” he chuckled.
“I think the three toasters you’ve killed would disagree,” Eleanor smiled.
“Are you feeling okay?” Carter asked.
She bit her lip. “I think so... I’m pretty sure I’m going to be allowed to leave soon...but I really need a shower. I wish I had some clothes to—”
“Way ahead of you,” Sarah grabbed the duffle bag Mitch had on his shoulder. He gave her a wink. “Harry thought you might want to be rid of smoky clothes and hair.”
She thought it would be too much to say Harry was her hero in front of their friends. So she would tell him later. Repeatedly.
*
“What are you going to do?” Addie asked as she signed the discharge papers. Her hair was air drying; her skin was less smoky. She watched the black water swirl into the drain during her much-needed shower and with it rid herself of the traumatic day
“I don’t know,” she sighed, laying the pen flat on the clipboard. Addie was seated beside her, not an inch of space between them. “Any chance you and Carter wouldn’t mind your old roommate?” She asked with a smile.
“Oh, you’ve got to be joking,” Addie rolled her eyes. “You’re not seriously going to move back with us after all this?” She asked.
“Addie,” she whispered hoping no one heard her. It seemed they hadn’t as the rest of the group was gathering all the items they had lugged in only a couple hours prior. Harry was getting off the phone near the window. Carter was reentering the room with Mitch; carrying two trays of coffee and bags of food filled the room with the most enticing smells of breakfast sandwiches and espresso. “I don’t really know what else to—”
“Harry!” Addie smiled delightedly hopping off the bed and hurrying to Harry’s side. He was off the phone and in the middle of a conversation with Niall.
“Addison!” She shouted, voice breaching hysterical immediately. She hopped off the bed and yanked her back away from Harry as quickly as she could. “Don’t you dare,” she hissed.
“Ow!” Addie pulled her arm from her. “Harry, I hate to put you on the spot like this—”
“Addie, I swear to God!”
“—but I am rather enjoying walking around the apartment naked with my boyfriend and would love to continue such. Is there anyway—”
“Addison,” Carter chuckled, prying her fingertips from Addie’s arm. “She’s going to stop breathing if you—”
“—you have room in your house for a roommate?”
She slapped a hand over her eyes and felt embarrassment curl through her. “Your girlfriend is a pain in the ass,” she whispered to Carter.
“I know, it’s the best,” he winked even though she couldn’t see it.
“Oh... um... I jus’ got off the moving company t’move your storage pod t’my place,” Harry sounded a little uncomfortable. Awkward. “It’ll be a couple days, but they’ll do it,” she peeked from between her fingers at his face. It was slightly flushed, embarrassed. “If that’s too much though... Niall was jus’ saying y’could have his one-bedroom ‘til y’figure out—”
“She’ll stay with you!” Addie chirped excitedly.
Harry chuckled. “Addie,” he smiled appreciatively. “I want her t’be comfortable.”
She shoved her toward him with so much force Harry had to hold her to keep her from falling unsteadily. “I can’t imagine a place—no, an entire universe—where she would be more comfortable,” Addie assured him.
“That’s a lot to spring on someone, Addie,” she snapped, glaring at her; her face half covered from where she had buried it into Harry’s fresh T-shirt brought along with new belongings for her as well.
“I don’t mind, kitten,” he kissed the top of her head encouragingly. “Was going t’suggest it as we walked out.”
*
They all gathered in front of the hospital. Planning their next stop. “I uh...” she shook her head. “I gotta make a lot of phone calls.”
“Can we meet up for dinner?” Carter suggested.
Everyone nodded, full of smiles and excitement. “Do you guys need help back to your hotel?” Louis asked.
“You guys got a hotel? You should have stayed with us!” Sarah frowned.
As the plans were discussed, Addie gave her a huge hug, kissed the side of her head then pulled away and looked at her. She was tired, probably still filled with a bit of smoke, but Addie thought she looked more like the picture still on her fridge than she had the entire time she’d known her.
“I’m so proud of you for jumping,” Addie bloomed with pride which made her cheeks flush pink.
“Shut. Up,” Eleanor laughed.
“Of course you read that,” Sarah rolled her eyes and shook her head.
“Oh man,” Niall groaned. “What was it? Three months?”
“That’s generous. Maybe one month,” Mitch was scrolling on his phone. “Last message I have about it is a month and a half ago,” he held it up for proof.
“It was extremely well written,” Harry grumbled bitterly.
“What was well written?” Carter asked winking at her. Addie for once was silent. Watching her carefully for her reaction which was currently stoically still.
“Harry, who has never picked up a magazine a day in his life,” Eleanor explained to Carter. “Was at the doctor’s office. Losing his mind as he always was and decided to leaf through one of the magazines on the coffee table in the waiting room.”
“He then proceeded to read us the article no less than twenty times in a row and explain everything he thought about it. How it reminded him of you. How he wanted to jump so badly and reset everything in his life,” Niall completed.
She turned to look at Harry; head tilted curiously. A pucker between her eyebrows as she examined him like she was seeing him for the first time.
“It sounded like you,” his cheeks turned pink. “M’sorry, kitten; it was jus’... so good. Sounded like something you would ramble about and then scribble down during a rainstorm. It reminded me so much of you... s’like I had something t’hold onto.”
Carter snickered watching the panic on her face ensue.
“Well, Harry. I’ll tell you why it reminded you so much of her. But you already figured it out.”
She looked at her feet, face burning with embarrassment that another six people knew some of her most inner thoughts. Her anonymity for something that broke her to write because she missed Harry wasn’t a full secret anymore.
The group remained quiet. Silent except for cars rolling through the parking lot as everyone processed what Addie said.
“You’re joking,” Eleanor whispered finally. “You... you wrote that?”
“She did,” Carter smiled. “In our English class. Addie insisted she publish it.”
“You used a pen name?” Niall asked. She nodded silently, embarrassed that they had read arguably one of her most personal ideas. “Wow,” he whispered. “What are the chances?”
“I told all of you,” Harry wrapped his arm around her tighter. Probably tighter than someone with worry about their lungs needed to be held, but he kissed the top of her hair once more. “I knew it was you,” he whispered in her ear.
“It’s framed in his house,” Louis said. “That is insane.”
“Soulmate stuff, I guess,” she shrugged, cheeks still tinted red. But the only person who heard was Harry. Which was really how she meant it to be anyway.
*A few days later*
“Jesus Christ,” she snapped and dropped the end of the couch to the storage pod floor again. Harry ran to her side and pulled her hand from her mouth to examine her injured index finger.
“I thought y’were kidding,” he smirked. “Some magnet y’got in there,” he pressed his lips against her digit and then her forehead.
She shook her head. “It’s ridiculous!” she frowned.
“I got it, love. You shouldn’t be lifting anything heavy anyway,” Mitch reminded her and put a hand on her shoulder as he gently nudged the pair of them out of the way. Niall winked at her as he lifted the other end while Harry examined the small puncture wound as seriously as if she had split her aorta right in front of him.
Quietly, they were alone while their friends moved all her stuff into Harry’s little house. Sarah and Eleanor distracted Mrs. Peterson while the boys moved the heavy stuff. And Harry just looked at her finger. “Are you sure about this?” She whispered.
“Please don’t make me beg,” he murmured. “I will,” he nodded. “I’ll beg and scream and fight if y’want me to,” he squeezed her hand and dropped it between them and smiled at her. “But I don’t want to.”
She smiled back, squeezed his hand, and stepped closer to him. He wrapped his arm around the top of her shoulders. Gently, she shook her head, dropped her head against the front of his shoulder. “No... I don’t want that. I’m just... it’s a lot. I’ve only been in town three weeks,” she reminded him.
“But baby,” he sighed, kissed her temple. The way he spoke made her sleepy. The way he held her made her feel so safe—like she could fall asleep standing right next to him.
It would take a bit of work. Reassurance that she was enough. Part of him felt guilty that he hadn’t clued her in on that fact long before. It seemed like it was known. The two of them fit so completely together he never thought he would need to remind her that she was enough. More than enough. More than he could ever dream of or want.
But he would do it. They were together. He would reassure her every day. He would try his hand at poetry if he needed to do it. If it meant that she would stay and not worry.
Harry met her gaze, held it for so long part of her really wondered if she had fallen asleep. “You’re home.”
And she saw it all. Always had. She saw their friends hosting or coming to cookouts with little ones that would expand their little friend circle. She saw Harry carrying her to bed because she refused to fall asleep in the bedroom without him while his shift wasn’t over. She saw the books and pens and notebooks that he would buy for her even though she was certain she wouldn’t fill them all (even if she did). She saw the little ones that had Harry’s green eyes and his perfect curls. She hoped they’d get his dimples and his kindness. The world deserved more Harry. There would be too many wooden chairs that Harry would make, and she would help stain, for them to put in their yard. There was everything in her little vision. All centered around the most perfect person she knew. The person she was lucky to call her soulmate. Even after all that time.
If it all was a dream like Harry had suggested in the hospital, then it was worth it, because the moment she woke up she would run back to him. She would beg and scream and fight if she needed to.
Because this was everything. It was more than she could ever want.
“Do you mean, I’m home? Like I’m at home or I am home. Like home is me?” She asked.
“You already know the answer t’that, my love.”
It was the most she would ever need.
That’s that me espresso
⋄∘∗⋅⋆≁≁⋆⋅∗∘⋄
The bell rings as you open the door to your favorite coffee shop. The cute little place is on a corner just two blocks from your apartment. It’s fairly busy with the morning rush, but you don’t mind the small wait, you take it as a chance to people-watch. You’ve been coming to this place pretty much everyday before work for about a year now. The whole staff knows you and your top three orders by heart, they give you little discounts and treats every once in a while, and they write sweet little messages on your cups sometimes too.
But, admittedly, your favorite part about getting your morning drink at this corner cafe is seeing another regular. The man is gorgeous. Clearly well built with dazzling blue eyes and fluffy hair that you just want to run your fingers through. He’s always displaying a charming smile even though it’s super early in the morning, and he’s always polite to the staff even on the rare occasion they mess up his order. The two of you have only ever exchanged pleasantries, but you always end up standing close to each other while waiting for your respective drinks. You’ve learned, over time, that his name is Dick Grayson. At first, you thought that it was a joke that one of the baristas was playing on him. But after the third drink he picked up belonging to Dick, you came to the conclusion it must be a nickname he goes by. You learned his last name one morning when he came in with another guy to pick up coffee and the man called him Grayson. You’re not a creep, you’ve just noticed things over time and used the information to piece things together.
Even though you know his name, you’ve never used it when saying “hi” in the morning, because you don’t want to come off as a stalker. You’re guessing he’s picked up your name by now too, but you don’t want to assume anything. You don’t want to convince yourself you’re a larger figure in his life than you really are.
However, Dick Grayson occupied more than just the first hour of your day. For some godforsaken reason, your mind always drifts to the handsome stranger during the slow hours of your work day or during the waning hours of the evening. You desperately wished to have an actual conversation with the beautiful man. You were tired of the routine “good morning”s and “have a nice day”s. You wanted to hear more of his sing-song voice. Apparently, you’d get your wish the following week. It was a random Wednesday morning and both you and Dick were waiting for your drinks when he suddenly piped up.
“Did I overhear correctly earlier; they gave you a free croissant today?” The marble-statue-of-a-man turned to you and asked you abruptly.
Caught by surprise, you blinked up at him but recovered quickly and replied, “Oh, yeah they do that for me sometimes. The girl working the register right now is one of my favorites, she’s always so sweet.”
“Yeah, she gave me a free bagel a few weeks ago and, let’s just say; if there’s ever a zombie apocalypse, she’s getting saved first.” You chuckled at his joke which earned you a big grin from the black haired man. “So, how’d you end up finding this little shop?”
“It’s a couple blocks from my apartment. I passed it on my way to work one morning and decided to check it out. Now I’m here everyday.” You explained with a shrug and then returned the question.
“The station isn’t far from here so this is where I go everyday.”
“I swear I’ve seen a coffee shop right across the street from the police station though. Why don’t you just go there?”
“It’s super crowded in the morning because that’s where everyone goes before work, so I come here —because I’ve never bean a very patient man.”
You snorted at his horrible dad joke and tried to keep a smile from growing on your face, Dick felt his chest bubble with pride at your reaction to his joke.
“I’m Richard, but everyone just calls me Dick, by the way.” The man offered with his hand extended to make a formal greeting.
You shook his hand —which was surprisingly warm and calloused— but decided to not mention the fact you already knew this, and instead made a little joke for yourself, “Well, people can be mean. But you don’t seem that bad to me.”
Dick’s eyes widened with confusion and then realization. “Oh, ha ha, I see we’ve got a class act comedian over here.”
“Well I did just come from a set at Rockefeller, so ya know…”
“That explains the constant consumption of caffeine, you gotta stay vigilant to keep the crowds chuckling.”
“Very good, detective, you’ve put all the pieces together.”
“Well I’m not the number one Blue’s Clues solver for nothing.” Dick rolled his eyes with faux annoyance and you gave a short laugh at his childish reference made even better by the police uniform he was currently wearing.
The conversation dipped, but you were desperate to keep it going since you’d finally gotten your wish, so you threw another question at him. “Does it ever get super tiring working as a cop in Blüdhaven?”
“I’m definitely thankful for coffee, let’s just say that. I will admit, fighting crime all day can wear a brother out.” Dick responded thoughtfully. He decided to leave out the “and all night” part, since you didn’t need to know he never really clocked out of crime fighting.
“Is it fun, turning on the sirens?”
“Hands down the best part of the job.”
“If I were a cop, I’d be playing those things all the time, just for fun.”
“Oh believe me, you wouldn’t be the first.” You were about to respond to Dick when one of the baristas called his name to give him his drink. Dick waltzed over to the bar and grabbed his coffee. On his way out, Dick walked past you and with a smile sweeter than sugar said, “Nice talking to you, and good luck with your next stand up routine. See ya tomorrow morning, darling.” And with that, he left you standing there feeling all fluttery.
You waited for them to finish your drink in an almost tipsy daze. You could not stop smiling and thinking about Dick. Had he seriously called you ‘darling’??! You might have just swooned. And the fact he said ‘see ya tomorrow morning’ must mean he intends to initiate another conversation, right?? Your head was spinning with hopes for a growing friendship.
Dick had walked out of the coffee shop feeling extra chipper after his little friendly banter with you, but then he remembered the fact he’d called you ‘darling’ right as he left. His cheeks instantly grew pink upon remembering and he had to stop himself from outwardly groaning. Was that too much?? Would you think he’s a creep for using a typically affectionate nickname so soon?? Dear god, had he actually just fucked up a five minute conversation?? His mind is running rampant. Of course, the first time he’s actually able to start a conversation with the cute stranger he always sees at his coffee shop he somehow finds a way to possibly fuck it up. He’s really hoping you don’t think he’s a weirdo, he just called you ‘darling’ on instinct, he hadn’t even realized what he was saying until it was half way out of his mouth it just felt so natural.
The next morning, the walk to get your tasty drink was filled with anticipation. Your feet moved with extra pep and you struggled to keep a smile off of your face. The little bell rings merrily as you walk in, and your eyes immediately find Dick standing in line a couple of people ahead of you. He turns around at the sound and you see recognition brighten his eyes before he waves joyfully at you. You wave back and take your place in line.
“How are you, this fine morning?” Dick asked suavely when the two of you had moved against a wall to wait for your drinks.
“Good good. And you?” You returned.
“Very good, now that I have such wonderful company.” You rolled your eyes to cover up butterflies his words gave you.
“Hey, yesterday evening I was watching the news’ rerun of that jewelry store robbery from the afternoon, and I could’ve sworn I saw you in the background.
Dick gave an embarrassed chuckle, “Yeah, that was probably me.”
“Can’t believe someone would rob a store like that in broad daylight, and with no masks too. What a bunch of idiots.”
“You sure seem to be knowledgeable in the fine art of robbery. I might have to take you down to the station for questioning.” Dick leaned down closer to you, as if for better observation, his voice smooth as silk.
“I swear officer, I’m a good law-abiding citizen.” You pulled your hands up as if in surrender, playing into his joke with a smirk.
“I guess we’ll see, just how good you are.” His voice had dropped an octave, and so had your stomach. He took one last look-over before returning to his natural posture. Your clever comeback died in your throat and you felt heat creep up on your face. “How was work yesterday?” He suddenly changed the subject with a much lighter, more bubbly tone of voice.
“Oh, it was fine, nothing interesting. Not like yours.” You answered honestly. You appreciated the fact he even cared enough to ask.
“Boring is good sometimes, I definitely don’t complain when I have a chill day.” He nodded his head in agreement as he spoke, his gentle blue eyes moving about the room. You missed being the recipient of their gaze.
“Yeah it was pretty chill,” Your voice dropped into a grumble, “except for the part when that bitch decided to bug me.” You crossed your arms over your chest in annoyance at just the memory of your coworker who pisses you off with a passion.
“Oh? Who’s this ‘bitch’ that gets so much of your venom?” Dick asked curiously, with a raised eyebrow. He must have super hearing.
“Just this uh coworker of mine who really pisses me off. Always finds a way to ruin a pleasant day.”
“Oh believe me, I know that one. If you need me to knock some sense into this bitch I can always take them for a drive in my car.” He assured you playfully with a light nudge.
“Oh my hero. How would I ever repay you?” You blinked up at him with doe eyes, sarcasm dripping from your words. Dick’s eyes widen for a second before his lips quirk up into a proud smirk.
You just barely hear him when he mumbles, “I could think of a few ways.” You feel your insides erupt in butterflies. You were going to say something else but a barista called Dick’s name to give him his order. You felt your heart drop at the idea that your time with him was over already. He wandered over to the counter and picked up his drink and pastry, and then to your surprise, sauntered back over to your side —closer than before, you noted. He smiled at you before extending his hand which was holding the pastry bag. You looked from the bag to him and then back to the bag, tilting your head to the side in confusion.
Dick smiled fondly and motioned for you to take the bag, “For you.” He asserted.
You blinked at him, “Seriously?” You asked incredulously. He nodded and shook the bag in front of you enticingly. You snatched the bag from his grasp and opened it up to find a cake pop. “You didn’t have to get me this.”
“I wanted to. If you really don’t want it, I’ll take it.” He responded casually, trying to cover up the fact that his heart was racing and he was desperately hoping you liked it.
“No no, I’m definitely taking it. I just don’t see the reason you’d bother getting this for me.”
“Well, I figured you deserved something as sweet as you.” Dick replied smoothly, leaning in closer to get more on eye level with you. Your breath caught in your throat. Damn him and his sexiness, it’s not fair to my poor heart. You thought quickly as you searched your mind for a comeback.
“Okay, flatterer.” You grumbled while taking the cake pop out of the bag. Dick’s grin shined brilliantly at the realization that he’d pleased you with his gift.
The barista called out your name and you rushed over to grab your drink before rushing back to Dick. The two of you then made your way to the door to head to your respective workplaces. When the two of you got out of the building, Dick suddenly stopped and started sifting through his pockets for something. You watched curiously as he pulled out a small piece of paper and a pen and began writing something on it.
When he finished, he turned to you (almost bashfully) and handed you the slip of paper. You took it and examined it, finding a number scrawled onto it in messy writing. “Here, in case you run into trouble on your way to work and need back up in blue.” He clarified, not able to meet your eyes.
You smirked at his sudden awkwardness, a big change from his previous practiced charm. You made a bit of a show of entering his number into your phone. “Thanks, I’ll be sure to bother you whenever my annoying ass coworker decides to steal my time.”
Dick smiled and laughed at your joke. “Good, I’m always happy to help such beautiful law-abiding citizens like yourself.” You chuckled at his call back. The two of you then (sadly) said your goodbyes and headed in opposite directions towards your jobs. Your heart was flying around in your chest and you felt so happy you were fighting the urge to skip the rest of your way to work. Dick couldn’t get himself to stop smiling, so much so, that his partner commented on the giant grin that was plastered on Dick’s face when he waltzed into the station. It felt like he’d just finished a workout, the way his heart was speeding rapidly in his chest. The entire walk to your work, you spent brainstorming what you should say in your first message to Dick to get a good conversation started. And the first thing you did when you got to your job was pull out your phone and shoot the beautiful blue-eyed man a text.
part 2
Steven Grant:
“Are you really gonna bring this up now?”
His tone had you looking at him as if he grew another head.
“When else would be a good time to bring this up, hmm? Because I think now is the most appropriate time,”
Steven rolled his eyes as he took off his jacket and sat on the couch facing you.
He had come home from significantly late with no explanation. You found out through social media that he went to an event celebrating Layla without informing you.
“Its late and I’m tired,” he said as he rubbed his face and sighed heavily.
Oh, he is tired?
“You don’t think I’m tired? I understand you have a past with Layla, but the way you go about doing things is exhausting me. All you ever do is talk about her. Everything is Layla this and Layla that,”
You explain to him out of frustration.
“She was right about you,” he says with a hint of sass.
“What do you mean by that?” you asked with furrowed brows.
“I mean that maybe Layla was right about you being controlling. Why do you think I never told you where I’m going. You would’ve tagged along and dampened the mood.
Wow, wow. So, Layla and he talk about you.
“I can’t believe the words that are coming out of your mouth. If you have an issue with the way I am then you should address it to me. Not go and talk to your EX-WIFE about it,” your voice had increased towards the end as you glared at him.
“Its not my problem if you’re insecure,” he said with a shrug.
Each word from him added more cracks to your already breaking heart.
You shook your head at him wordlessly and began to look for your bag and jacket around his apartment.
He sat upright on the couch and watched you with confused furrowed brows.
“What’re you doing?”
Once you gathered your things, you walked towards the door with him now trailing behind you.
“I asked you a question,” he said firmer.
You looked at him with unshed tears and saw his expression soften.
“Leaving,” was all you said before unlocking the door and walking away from him.
Steven cursed under his breath and walked after you.
“Y/n, its late. Stop being ridiculous,”
That ticked your off even further. You abruptly turn around to face him.
“I don’t expect you to be concerned about me anymore. Go ahead and worry about your precious Layla and her thoughts on our relationship,”
You left him standing their speechless as you exited his apartment building. Steven was left feeling an ache in his chest and the weight of his actions and words.
Marc Spector:
“Look at the state of you,”
Were the first words Marc heard upon returning to the apartment. He had been gone for days and you had no way of contacting him.
“Y/n, please. I just want silence,” he said tiredly and sat lethargically on the bed.
“You can’t expect me to not be panicked when you come home with a gunshot wound. Did you even go to a hospital?” you ask in disbelief.
“I can take care of these things on my own,” he groaned and moved to face you.
“Marc, I can’t keep seeing you like this,” you admit to him.
Each time he left that door you would say a silent prayer to ensure he would come back to you.
“You knew what this relationship was going to be like-“
“Yes, but I didn’t expect you to be coming home like this,” you motion to his form.
Marc was growing annoyed.
“This is my life y/n, what do you want me to do?”
Your eyes searched his tired ones as he spoke.
“Exactly Marc, this is your life. I want you to take care of it,”
He scoffed at your words.
“I don’t need you to tell me how to live my life,” he said bitterly.
“That’s not what I’m-“
“Save it, okay? I already deal with enough when it comes to Khonshu. I don’t want to deal with you as well,”
“Deal with me? What? Marc, what have I ever done to make you feel like this? Me being worried about whether your alive or not upsets you?” you asked a string of questions as endless thoughts ran through your mind.
“Just go,” is all he said as he turned his back to you and laid on the bed.
You watch his form, waiting for him to take back his words, apologise… do something – but he just lays there.
You nod to yourself and gather your belongings to leave. It was well into the night and significantly late, but you did as he said and walked out that front door.
He laid in bed with his thoughts, thinking whether pushing you away was the right choice.
Jake Lockley:
You walked into the bar to see him stood rather close to an unknown woman.
With anger running through your veins, you walk up to him and see his eyes slightly widen when he sees your approaching him.
“What’re you doing here?” he asked with a monotone.
“I’ve been waiting for you at home for the passed 3 hours,” you said as calmly as you could.
The woman standing close to him looked surprised at your words but made no move to walk away from the obvious situation.
“You should’ve kept waiting,” he said uninterested as he took a sip from his drink.
You watch him with narrowed eyes as he looked back to you.
“Is this how its going to be? You’re going to act like a total stranger in public and my boyfriend in private?” you asked feeling hurt.
He hummed at your words and sat up straight in his seat at the bar.
“You’re clingy,” was all he said, knowing that those words would hit you harder than anything else.
Throughout your life, you always had someone to be around. Your parents, siblings, friends and now in a foreign country you found solace with Jake spent every waking moment with him when you could. It was normal for you, and he didn’t seem to mind it.
“Clingy?” you asked as you choked back tears.
Jake clenched his jaw slightly before relaxing and putting his arm around the shoulders of the woman next to him.
“You heard me,” he said with a chuckle.
You took in a deep breath to compose yourself. Clearly you were not wanted nor needed here.
“Okay, if that’s what you think. You can have all the space you want from now on,” you said and turned to walk away.
“Is she actually you girlfriend?” asked the unnamed woman.
“One of many, hermosa,” he said under his breath.
ORDINARY LIFE | ARSENAL WFC X TEEN AVENGER OC | PT 2
pairings: arsenal women x teen avenger oc (platonic)
summary: in which three close calls occur but thankfully everyone was oblivious.
part two: close calls
part one here
✦ ——— ✦ ——— ✦
Weeks had passed since Ameris had joined the club, and she had settled in quite well. Her laid-back personality and easygoing nature quickly made her a favourite among her new teammates.
She had hit it off particularly well with Kyra Cooney-Cross, another new signing and a few years older than her. The two quickly became a chaotic yet dangerous duo on and off the field. Kyra's hyper, trouble-causing tendencies were balanced by Ameris' calm demeanour, though Ameris often found herself tagging along with Kyra's antics, subtly keeping her in check.
One crisp morning before training, Ameris strolled towards the benches near the field with Leah and Steph, their hands warmed by steaming cups of coffee while she herself had a hot chocolate.
"So, how are you finding London so far?" Steph asked, taking a sip of her drink.
"It's great," Ameris replied with a smile. "I’m really starting to feel at home here."
"Glad to hear it," Leah chimed in. "We need to introduce you to the best spots around here."
As they chatted, a sudden movement caught Ameris' eye. Out of the corner of her vision, she saw Kyra accidentally launch a football their way instead of towards Teyah and Katie, who were playing nearby. Without a second thought, Ameris's reflexes kicked in. She skilfully caught the ball with her free hand, saving both Leah and Steph from spilling their drinks.
"Whoa!" Steph exclaimed, her eyes wide in surprise. "Nice catch!"
“That was insane,” Leah agreed with a matching surprised reaction. "Maybe we should get you in goal with reflexes like that, give Manu a run for her money."
"Just lucky, I guess." Ameris chuckled, trying to brush off the attention. She tossed the ball back to Kyra, Teyah, and Katie, who were staring at her in awe. Kyra was also relieved that she got saved from another scolding.
"Seriously, Adarlan," Katie called out, laughing. "You’ve got skills!"
Ameris gave a nonchalant shrug and a playful grin. "Just trying to keep you on your toes."
Internally, she scolded herself for not being more lowkey. She had worked so hard to blend in and avoid drawing attention to her extraordinary abilities. But seeing everyone laugh and continue with their activities, she felt a wave of relief.
No one suspected anything, passing it off as pure luck.
~
And then it happened once again after a few days.
One afternoon after a particularly tiring training session, the team had gathered in the cafeteria for a much-needed break. The room was filled with laughter and the clatter of dishes as everyone helped themselves to the spread of food laid out for them.
Ameris was walking with Vic and Kyra, who was in the middle of an animated story about a prank she had pulled on Katie earlier that day.
"And then, just as Katie was about to sit down, the chair was gone! You should have seen her face!" Kyra finished, her laughter infectious.
Ameris and Vic both chuckled, shaking their heads. "You're seriously going to get yourself into trouble one of these days, Kyra."
"Hey, it hasn’t happened yet," Kyra replied with a wink.
As their conversation continued and they walked back towards their table, Ameris noticed Alessia and Leah engaged in a playful argument in front of them. And Lessi, gesturing wildly, didn't see the glass of water teetering on the edge of the table next to them, accidentally knocking it over.
In a split second, Ameris's hand shot out, catching it mid-air and placing it safely back on the table.
"Careful, Less," she said with a smile, trying to make it seem like a coincidence. "You don't want to flood the cafeteria."
Alessia blinked, surprised but grateful. "Thanks, Ameris. I didn't even see that. Sorry."
"No problem," Ameris replied, giving a light shrug.
Leah raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed. "You've seriously got some quick reflexes, Ameris."
Ameris laughed it off. "Just lucky timing, I guess."
Vic playfully punched her shoulder. “You’re like a superhero with those skills.”
Ameris's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly masked her surprise with another laugh. "Haha, I would be a sick superhero."
“Nahhh,” Kyra playfully disagreed. “I’d probably be better than her.”
“Sure you would.” Ameris rolled her eyes. “You'd probably be like a side-kick or a henchman.”
Kyra scoffed in mock offence. "Side-kick?!"
While they continued bantering, Ameris was still grateful they all remained blissfully unaware. Maybe she had to act a bit clumsy to balance it out.
~
A few months had passed since another close call occurred this time.
She had settled into her new life as a football player, making friends and honing her skills on the pitch. The team had become her second family, and she relished the sense of normalcy it brought her.
That was until the day Emily Fox was signed to Arsenal. As everyone gathered around to welcome her, Ameris felt a surge of panic. She remembered watching one of USA's games two years ago with Tony Stark and a few of the Avengers. She had met several of the players, including Emily.
Keeping her composure, Ameris joined the line of her teammates to greet the new arrival.
When it was her turn, she extended her hand with a calm smile. "Hey there, I'm Ameris. Welcome to Arsenal."
Emily knew she recognised her from somewhere, but couldn’t exactly place it until she remembered her name. "Ameris? Hey, I do remember you. Didn't you come to watch one of our games a couple of years ago with Tony Stark?"
Ameris's heart skipped a beat. She could feel Kyra's curiosity flare up beside her.
"Hold on. Tony Stark?! Like Iron Man himself? What?" Kyra's exclamation drew the attention of several teammates, including Leah, Alessia, Katie, and Steph.
Ameris quickly composed herself, forcing a casual laugh. "Yeah, something like that. My family kinda knew Tony from work, and we ended up sitting together at the game. It was a great experience."
Leah raised an eyebrow, intrigued but not pressing further. "Sounds like quite the connection."
Katie nudged Ameris playfully. "Yeah, you never told us you had such interesting family friends."
Ameris shrugged, keeping her tone light. "It didn't seem that important. Plus, I didn't want to brag."
Steph, seemingly perceptive, gave Ameris a reassuring smile. "Well, it's a cool story. And welcome again, Emily. We're glad to have you."
With the attention diverted back to Emily and the team's excitement over their new signing, Ameris let out an internal sigh of relief, sending Steph a thankful look who smiled warmly in return.
The defender had been keeping an eye on the teenager since she’d joined the club with Kyra, and was seemingly the only one that had noticed Ameris’ constant vigilance which was masked skilfully by her laid-back persona.
While everyone seemed to gloss over all these hints, Steph was slowly beginning to suspect that there was more to the young striker than she was letting on, but kept it to herself for now.
As they all moved to the training pitch, Kyra slid next to Ameris, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Meeting the Avengers, damn! You sure know how to keep secrets, don't you?"
Ameris chuckled, grateful for Kyra's lightheartedness. "You have no idea."
Hi again!!! I just watched Wind Breaker ep 8 and now I NEED more Umemiya oneshots🥲 Imagine this. Her girlfriend got into a fight with another girl(maybe she's the girlfriend of a Shishitoren member or something). She won the fight but ended up getting injured. On her way home, she bumped into Umemiya. He gave her a long lecture while tending to her wounds because he was so worried and pissed that she didn't call him for help.
WONTONS
Hajime Umemiya x Reader
Warnings: Blood, Cursing, Fighting, Pet Names, Bullying(?), Arguing, Reader is called ma’am, calling Shishitoren “Shit-toren”, doubts of not being good enough, barely proof-read, probably something else I’m missing.
A/n: Thank you so much for making another request! I’m sorry it took me so long to respond, I’ve been extra busy. But I hope you enjoy it! Don’t forget to send in requests and lmk what you think!
You should have known, of course, that straying too close to the border between Shishitoren territory and Bofurin territory would cause an issue. It would have been fine if you hadn’t been craving the wontons from the only place that sold them within walking range.
…….
You had just finished your rounds of the town and were starving. You hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast and you were absolutely craving the cream cheese wontons from Grandpa Yagas. “Mmm I wonder if grandpa Yaga would throw in an extra egg roll” You wondered aloud, daydreaming of the food as you walked, not even noticing the people in yellow jackets already making their way towards you. The one in the middle, bumping into you purposefully, knocking you out of your happy fantasizing.
“Ow, Bofurin watch where you're going” The girl snapped, as if she didn't walk straight into you on purpose, noting your dazed state as you walked. “I apologize. I wasn’t watching where I was going.” You bowed politely, already too tired from the day's activities to note the obnoxious smirk appearing on the girl's face at your apology.
“Hm..apology not accepted.” The girl tapped her chin in thought before putting her hands on her waist. “How about you do me one better and beg-” You cut the girl off with the raise of your hand, completely uninterested in what she's about to say, only the thought of wontons in your mind.
“Listen you seem…” You looked the girl up and down, finally noting the smug look on her face that was slowly dropping to one of irritance the more you spoke “nice? But I’m not interested, I have somewhere to be.” and with that you turned on your heel and continued on your path to filling your stomach.
“Wha- You’re just walking off?” She screamed, a dumbfounded expression crossing her features. You put up two fingers as a way of saying “bye” before putting them back in your pockets, the girl's friends snickering behind her only causing her more fury as she stared at your retreating figure. “You know I expected more from Bofurins Top Girl. Ya know since you’re dating Umemiya and all.” She yelled after you only for you to still not acknowledge her. “I mean maybe you actually are as weak as people say!” She called once more, trying to get a rise out of you, only for it to still not gauge a reaction from you as you got farther away, the echo of her friends snickering echoing off the surrounding buildings. “I mean Umemiya must only be with you cause he feels obligated to protect someone so weak. He’d probably leave you the second someone stronger comes around.” and at that you stopped dead in your tracks.
You weren’t usually the one to allow things to get to you. Especially from a girl such as her but even you sometimes had the doubts of if you were good enough for Umemiya. I mean the two of you met after he saved you from a group of bullies when the two of you were younger. He’s the one who trained you to be stronger. So of course you had your doubts no matter how silly they were.
Once seeing how the words had gotten you to stop, the girl smirked before continuing, “Maybe I should go see him now. Show him what a real girl is like, one who actually is strong.” At this you turned around, finally facing the girl and taking note of the Shishitoren jacket draped over her shoulders causing you to chuckle hysterically, the smirk on the girl's face turning to confusion. “Hey! What’s so funny? I’m not joking.” She fussed, stomping her foot in a mini temper tantrum.
“I-....I’m sor…” You gasped for air, holding your stomach with one hand, the other gesturing for her to give you a minute as you tried to breathe normally again. “Ah I’m sorry. I just think its funny I almost took you seriously-””I am serious.” The girl cut you off, crossing her arms as she huffed at you with a roll of her eyes. “Alright, honey, whatever you say. It’s hilarious a shit-toren member like yourself thinks you’re strong enough to compare to me let alone for Umemiya to even bat an eye at.” You say, fixing your composure to stand tall as you stare down the girl a few feet away.
“I am most definitely stronger than you. I at least didn’t meekly apologize and scurry off without solving what was obviously an argument. You don’t have to play tough, “Honey”. If you’re scared of me taking your man, just say that.” She gave you another shit eating smirk as you rolled your eyes. “What argument? You were yapping and I was too hungry to care but ya know what I’ll play along. I’m so scared of your strength.” You raise your hands, a faux scared expression adorning your features before you break out into an amused smile as steam practically comes from the girl's ears. “Now if that's all you wanted I’ll be on my way.” You saluted the girls, the same amused smile on your face as you turned to walk away.
“You Bit-” the girl screamed before the quick sound of her footsteps grew louder behind you, signaling the girl coming closer. The swift sound of air moving from a punch being thrown sounded and you swiftly moved your head out of the way with minimal energy, catching the girl's fist in a tight grip as you looked at her over your shoulder. “Hasn’t anyone taught you it’s not polite to attack someone with their back turned.” You glared as the girl yanked her arm back and proceeded to throw a kick at you next.
The fight continued for a while, you dodging and easily returning the kicks and throws the girl sent your way. That was until she called in her friends, which just like her were easy to overthrow at least until the girl snuck up behind you once more while you were fighting against about five of her friends, ending in you getting pushed to the concrete and one good punch landing on you, just as you knocked the last of her friends unconscious.
“What did I say about hitting someone with their back turned? Hm?” You asked, standing up with a menacing glare as you looked at the girl, whom was staring shocked at her unconscious friends surrounding the two of you. “I said it wasn’t polite.” You calmly stated, spitting out blood that gathered in your mouth after the one punch she finally landed. “I apologize.” She meekly stated, shrinking under the glare you continued to give her as you stepped closer to her, only stopping until you were right in front of her with her cornered against the brick wall of a building. “Apology…not accepted” You grinned as you repeated her words from earlier back to her before swinging your arm back, her eyes squeezing closed as you punched the wall next her head, chipping some of the brick off. “Get out of my sight.” You stated plainly as the girl's eyes flew open “and remember this the next time you disrespect someone.” The girl nodded before scurrying off, helping some of her friends get up as you began back on your journey for food.
“Ah man, I’m even hungrier now, I’m gonna need more than just wontons and egg rolls now.” You pouted as you rolled your shoulder, stiff from all the punching. "Wontons! Wontons! Wontons!" You chanted happily as you walked into the store, finally ordering your long awaited meal.
…..
On your way home you munched happily on an eggroll only to bump into another person, causing you to sigh “Not again” you thought. “I apologize, I wasn’t watching where I was going.” You bowed politely for the second time today, before hearing a familiar chuckle. “Of course you weren’t. You never pay attention when foods on that pretty little brain of yours.” The man said, your head shooting up to look at him, taking in the handsome face of none other than your boyfriend, Hajime Umemiya.
You released a breath you didn’t know you were holding as you realized you wouldn’t have to fight this person you bumped into…or at least hopefully wouldn’t as the mans happy loving smile dropped to a look of concern as he took in the large scrape on your cheek from when you hit the concrete and the split lip, still slightly bleeding.
“What happened?” The man asked, his eyebrows furrowing in concern, as his large hand quickly came to gently cup your chin, turning it towards the side in order to study the wound on your cheek better. “It’s nothing, baby. Don’t worry about it.” Your hand came up to gently pull his away, cradling it in your hand as his eyes met yours.
“Nothing happened? Who did this to you? Why didn’t you call for me?” He asked frantically, his eyes searching yours as you huffed and looked up at the sky. “It was just a girl and her friends from Shishitoren, babe. Really it was nothing. I handled it, she just got lucky and got a hit in.” You said, taking a step back from your boyfriends, overwhelmingly close proximity.
“You still should have called for me.” The boy grumbled before intertwining his fingers with yours and pulling you back towards him as he dragged you in the direction of your shared apartment. “Umemiya slow down! I can walk by myself and you’re gonna make me drop the food.” You scolded only for that to cause more grumbles to escape the boy before he swiftly took the bag of food from your hand, carrying it for you.
As soon as you arrived at your apartment, the blonde quickly put the food on the counter, still dragging you behind him to the bathroom as you whined about being hungry. “Stay here.” The man ordered as he lifted you onto the bathroom counter before walking off, only to enter a few moments later with the first aid kit. “Umemiya I’m fine, its a small cut that’s all. Can we please do this after I eat-” You pleaded only to be met with a glare as your boyfriend shook his head and proceeded to pour alcohol onto a cotton pad. The man gently grabbed your hand, looked at your bruised and bloodied knuckles, a scoff escaping his lips as he glanced up at you, a sheepish look crossing your face. “This is more than a small cut, y/n. You could have gotten really hurt.” The boy scolded as he cleaned the cuts and dried blood off your knuckles, as small hisses escaped you. “Why didn’t you just walk away? You usually do. You know I always want you to call me if you know you’re gonna get in a fight.” He scolded, giving you sympathetic looks between his hard concentrated stares every time you winced as he continued to clean and bandage your wounds. “I can’t just whip out my phone in a fight, Umemiya. Plus I tried to walk away. She just came up behind me and tried to punch me.” “Cheap shot” He tsked as you recounted the events. “I know right, that's what I said!” You exclaimed, “Stupid Shit-toren” He chuckled, small smiles gracing your features as you both looked at one another. “I’m really sorry, Hajime. I tried to walk away. I really did. I mean all I wanted was some fucking wontons!” You huffed, throwing your hands in the air dramatically, the boy chuckling softly at your reaction.
“It's alright, baby. Just call me next time. I worry about you enough as it is.” He kissed your forehead softly as you nodded. “Alright now c’mon lets get those wontons in your stomach.” He smiled softly at you, holding his hand out to you as an offer to help you off the counter which you graciously took. “Please, I’ve been craving these Wontons all day.” You sighed dramatically, Umemiya shaking his head in amusement as he swung his arm over your shoulder, pulling you into his side as you walked to the kitchen where the bag of food was left sitting. “You wouldn’t have happened to get me-””A bowl of udon and a box of sashimi. I did indeed.” You smirked knowingly up at your boyfriend as he cheered happily “Whooping ass and getting me food, that's my girl!” He smiled lovingly at you as you nudged his side. “Shut up and get the food.” You snorted. “Yes ma’am!” He saluted jokingly as he ran off to the kitchen, leaving you there staring off at him lovingly, a smile gracing your features.
