Re: this post which kind of threw a gigantic wrench into one of the Subtle Early Series Things That I Will Not Shut Up About, what's your read on the pinkish orbs of light that spill out of Pyrrha's chest wound at the Fall of Beacon? For the longest time I'd understood it as the tiniest bit of Maiden magic that the ATM had put into her, as the only other time we've seen a dying character emit a visible mass of light was Amber (It was also my explanation at the time for Ruby hearing Pyrrha's voice in v4, that her little micro-maidenhood passed onto Ruby per the last thoughts rules [she looks over towards Ruby before she dies]). But. As you pointed out, the magic draining out of Amber doesn't match her aura. It's gold, not yellow-orange. It's possible I guess that visible soul-leakage was originally going to just be A Thing in the setting and was later walked back, but I still feel like it means something and can't wrap my head around exactly what that something could be. The main contenders I guess are either still something Maiden-related, or maybe its a SEW thing? Can Ruby just like, see people's souls sometimes?? Why would something like this happen for Pyrrha but never anyone else?

and then adam flicks yang’s blood off his sword as he advances but there notably ISN’T any blood gushing out from her severed arm or pooling on the floor, after?

taps the gold glow. this isn’t just a stylistic choice to be tasteful and artistic about the gore; adam cuts off her arm and yang’s aura FLOODS there to cauterize the wound, burning off in the process. it can’t heal her severed arm, but it can save her from bleeding out.

similarly,

if that arrow pierced her sternum, there’s a good chance it struck through her heart or aorta and this is pyrrha’s aura flooding the wound to stop the bleeding.

there are four Other occasions when we see characters sustain similar injuries without this soul-leakage, but:

cinder ran weiss through with a burning-hot spear, AND weiss had just had her aura broken; so a) the wound was cauterized almost instantly and b) weiss may not have had enough aura left to flood in any case.

hazel gets impaled by weiss’s queen lancer, BUT hazel is noted to have extremely efficient aura regen (ergo: control of his aura) AND he has a semblance that can blot out physical pain AND there aren’t really any major arteries in that area. (on either side of the torso; even without aura being a factor at all getting impaled where weiss or hazel did is a very survivable injury.)

anyway the other two are

vernal and penny. vernal is kind of the odd one out here because i don’t think we ever see her aura At All (i’m inclined to chalk this one up to an animation oversight tbh? the battle of haven is a mite unclear / inconsistent about aura across the board). but with penny obviously any aura-flooding event just gets vacuumed by cinder’s arm. and then her aura’s down until jaune amps her with his semblance, which wouldn’t cause flooding because both his and her aura are under conscious control.

(though it’s also entirely possible that the ‘flooding’ effect was just discarded after the switch to maya for aesthetic reasons. lmao)

but yeah basically i think it’s like. a symptom of medical shock. where all your available aura rushes to stanch the bleeding and there’s such an intense sudden concentration of energy there that you essentially Bleed Aura to keep your blood inside… & if you have enough aura (like yang did) this can fully cauterize the wound in seconds whereas if you’re low (pyrrha, penny) you’ll run out of aura before the wound is sealed. and then we don’t see this with even quite serious injuries to parts of the body that lack major arteries or in cases where the injured person is either tapped out (weiss) or exceptionally skilled and focused (hazel).

Genuinely though if someone gets turned into a limited chr, it's GOING to be one of the servants.....but not Berserker, unless they do the thing for Clara with Illya but that. That just takes away Clara's thing. And UBW wasn't really that centred towards her anyway. Him and Gilgamesh would PROBABLY end up as bosses let's be real. If they wanna up the money grab, they'd probably put Saber in as another playable chr, though considering this isn't Stay Night then like idk they probably won't

OOH, question numero dos: it's been established that "lamps" are a "species" or "subspecies" of Darkner. These appear a lot in canon, from Rudinns, Ponmen and Plugbois to Hathies, Addisons and Swatchlings. It's not really explained how this works, and to add to the confusion, many shopkeepers and major characters are seemingly one-of-a-kind.

SO: Rouxls. Is he one-of-a-kind, or are there other slimes out there (if the term for his "race" is even just "slime..." I've seen them called Kaards, but I think that's just a surname because King, Lancer and many other characters are also playing cards from the same deck, but they're not called "Kaards," and in fact the species they are seems to depend on the hand of their card... hmm, I've legitimately never thought of this before...)

Like, so Jevil is also a card you only get one of in a deck, and he's also the only purple imp thing seen... OK, I'm getting off track, the point is: slimes. Are there more out there, and if so, is Rouxls a fairly typical member of his kind? Are there colour variants? A size range? Do they all eat worms, or is he just a freak? Does he have parents, or did he spawn in some other way? Like, the fact that he has a functional reproductive system implies the former, right? Maybe?

Yes, the Light Darkners are a species :) I have two others in the AU other than Klieg, but they've remained unrevealed for a while due to development hell plus one being kind of a spoiler

I also have that "one-of-a-kind" rule for some characters heheh Mittens, Chairiel and Yule all fall into that category, though for them it's due to Light World influence, but it really depends on the characters :)

I should clarify that in my take, I don't imagine most Darkners have parents, a lot of them just spawn in and their age varies on what need they serve (Like Button and Match being teens due to their purpose being to play with Kris and Asriel, or Mike being around Asgore's age because he was the Lightner he initially imprinted on)

But yeah, as for Rouxls, I do think he falls into the "one-of-a-kind" type, I never really explored that stuff with him all that much for that reason, though I would like to since xenobiology is something I love spending my time with writing!

But yeah, I suppose since he's part of a set of cards, he'd probably share some thematic similarities with them, so another hypothetical rule card would probably follow the same aesthetic as their pack?? I'm just spitballing tbh

They've been looking for the youngest Fenton for almost a month now, and they've finally discovered where the GIW was keeping Danny. The Fenton parents were leading the charge, furious about the treatment their son might be enduring!

A surprising number of the A-listers were a part of the siege, and Lancer went along to supervise.

There were others attacking the GIW base, but these are the players that will matter. Jazz, Sam, and Tucker were left in Amity in case Danny had escaped on his own, as unlikely as that was.

Lancer hears a bone-chilling scream before he even enters the white brick building (he thinks he- no, everyone- hates the color white now.) He barely even says a word before his students move, taking down as many agents as necessary to make a path to the screams that are STILL GOING he's still screaming, oh god

Lancer feels like the building went on forever, the screams getting louder the further he and the Fenton parents (they followed him, they need to get to their son, make sure he's safe) get into the awful lab.

More voices, more screams. They come to a hallway and open every door, Danny is nearby, the screams are deafening.

Some rooms hold ghosts, they flee.

Some rooms hold people, some corpses.

Lancer is glad his students didn't follow the adults this far in, they're traumatized enough as it is. He already knows he'll have nightmares of today.

Finally, they find the room Danny is in. His screams have finally petered out. How long Danny screamed worried Lancer, Jack and Maddie. A human, even a liminal as strong as Danny likely was, shouldn't have been able to scream that long. Their lungs just couldn't hold that much air.

Lancer opens the door and nearly falls to the ground in horror, shock, terror, grief. His student sits on the ground, dazed, surrounded by the bodies of a few agents, with white hair and glowing green eyes.

The Fentons, it seems, do fall, as Lancer hears twin thuds behind him. He doesn't look, instead slowly, cautiously, walking towards his student he was a child, oh gods, a child died here.

He calls out to his once-student. Danny or is it phantom now? doesn't respond. Lancer sees Jack appear in his periphery, tear tracks down his face. Lancer is honestly surprised he hasn't started crying yet. He knows he'll cry the moment this is over, he needs to be strong right now.

Jack gets a response from Danny, who looks at the father who outlived his son.

"dad..." his voice is broken from his earlier screams. "'m s'rry... di'n't mean t'... -t' -t'" he stutters as tears begin to fall "it hurt dad, I didn't mean to kill them, but it hurt so much" Lancer barely heard Danny's voice, nearly a whisper.

Jack collected his crying son into his arms, a stony expression on his face.

The GIW would pay, but Danny's recovery came first.

4 hour sleep gang but sooo worth it.. lancer rpg. blinks wildly. im. 3-session long bossfight, fucking INSANE. hardest fucking fight we've ever dealt with, surrounded by webs of bombs and mines, and the Fool is a literal stand user and she fucking summoned it to kick our asses. actual hell on earth.

[TREASURE] and kuruushi got really fucked up throughout, im pretty sure more than half of us structured at some point. i fended off a bit better cuz i kept a distance, since my balor's a long distance mf. i love my superheavies. but yeah it was. bad. because even after we kill her stand basically, she's still puttin up mines and shit, and we realize. Oh we have to do a systems check.. we have to see the mines. and WOW its bad. its bad. we're completely and utterly surrounded. one fucking step in any direction, and either the Fool or [TREASURE] is getting blown to BITS. so we're freaking out... eventually though, [TREASURE]'s got rapid jet system or summat like dat, and he fucking bolts the shit out of there, but he's STILL NOT SAFE!!! BECAUSE SHE KEEPS TARGETING HIM.. THOUGH now she realizes the mines aren't gonna work (except on kuru, who at this point has exploded on those mines and structured like 30437498494 times now... it was miserable), so she hops out of the mines and right into us and we're like AHA YOU ARE SO SURROUNDED. AND WE DO. for [TREASURE] unfortunately, she's permainvisible and so a GOOD portion, if not all of his hits, don't land :( shitty fuckin rolls, it happens though tbh. im able to get a shot in at her regardless of missing, cuz cyclone has reliability tag of 5, and tellius basically grabs a spear and forces it into her mech, making her immobile and slowed. and THEN, i ram right into her mech and slam it into a nearby pylon, and force her prone. we're all fucking dogpiling her - but then we realize, thats WHAT she wants, because she grabs her grenade launcher and points it at the ground beneath all of us, knocking back the party a good amount and im pretty sure someone NEARLY structured from that. i dont get pushback thankfully, but im not the one who does the killing blow either. tellius rams himself back into the fight and fucking grabs his drills and forces it right into where he thinks the cockpit is, and lo and behold, there is a gaping hole in the thing. and it just keels over. and in the rubble and the dust thrown about, she's still alive. she's crawling out her mech pit, barely alive, bleeding from her midsection. this is *new.* we. won? i guess. the party, particularly skink and tellius get their words in, i know it gets revealed where the people who fucked telly over are, so thats OUGHG. thats. not good is it....... we will see.. but. the fool looks up at yves and is like. Choco Cone Cookie AU

So I came up with a Cookie Run AU a few days ago, and... I’m gonna talk about it here, but the idea is- it’s not stupid, I think it’s very interesting (because I’m an AU nerd), but it might come across as dumb to others. I call it the Choco Cone AU.

So basically, the premise of this AU was a part of my “Dark Chocoverse” brainrot where I imagined Dark Choco Cookie in different roles for characters. One of these roles was him being in Strawberry Crepe Cookie’s place, where he’s associated with Wafflebots and is the initially unnamed Cookie the crew meets in the Vanilla Kingdom. And then I started building more onto this idea because I was hyperfixating on the theme of Strawberry Crepe Cookie’s character, which a cyborg-like character who does all these analysis things and techy stuff and yeah.

For the most part, the AU’s been kinda comical. I’ve been talking about it with friend, who I share just about all of my brainrot with, and there’s been more comical scenes than angsty ones, which is a new record for me I think. Like, the scene we just talked about today was a Licorice Oozling getting loose in the Black Citadel thanks to Dark Choco Cookie, and how he’s trying to track it down and catch it before the others find out.

I’m also trying to figure out the backstory/lore for this AU. Like how Dark Choco Cookie ended up in the Vanilla Kingdom and how he ended up fused with these Wafflebot parts, becoming a cyborg and all. The current thing I’m going with is that he suffered some kind of tragic accident and needed life-saving surgery, as he lost limbs. And, at least in this AU, not even Pure Vanilla Cookie’s miracle magic can reattach lost limbs. Maybe the accident in question, if I keep this plotline, could be related to the Dark Flour War with everything going on.

As a result of the accident in question and the spell that sealed away the Vanilla Kingdom, Dark Choco Cookie suffered total amnesia. He remembered basic knowledge and stuff, but he forgot everything about who he was, including his name and where he comes from. But he did still remember that he was a Cookie. There are moments where he can experience deja vu related to his past, such as the licorice smell coming from Licorice Cookie (and probably his name alone tbh) and Dark Enchantress Cookie. He doesn’t know WHY he gets this sense of deja vu and longing, but he does, and it can be pretty distracting at times.

Now, this AU doesn’t get rid of Strawberry Crepe Cookie entirely. The skrunkly still exists in this AU. I don’t really know how I’m going to implement them into the story/setting, but the idea I got not too long ago was that Strawberry Crepe Cookie found Dark Choco Cookie and they’re kinda like a little found family. Obviously this leads to some conflict come Cookie Odyssey and Dark Cacao Cookie finds out that his son is, in fact, still alive. Pretty much hasn’t aged a day and didn’t even know Dark Cacao Cookie or the Dark Cacao Kingdom existed prior to the Council of Heroes, but that’s a topic for another day!

Like, Dark Choco Cookie’s character here isn’t a carbon copy of Strawberry Crepe Cookie. That’s not what I want. Unlike Strawberry Crepe Cookie, who seems to have known how to navigate Wafflebots and data from the moment they gained awareness, Dark Choco Cookie has no idea what is going on. The kid even designed a similar headset for him, one based on the Choco Cone Lancers, and he’s just looking at the data stream like (:D)

At the same time, Dark Choco Cookie’s cluelessness when it comes to technology isn’t solely played for laughs and he’s not just additional comic relief in the AU. Here, he’d be a much stronger opponent than Strawberry Crepe Cookie, especially in terms of the lore and what the boss battle was like from a lore perspective. Because although his brain memory is gone, his muscle (dough?) memory is still there, and he’s an experienced fighter. In this AU’s storyline, Strawberry Crepe Cookie would run to Dark Choco Cookie and be a little tattletale on GingerBrave and friends, and then they’d fight for that reason. Like, what I’m picturing is Dark Choco Cookie holding like a laser cannon and aiming it at the main crew, despite 4/5 (4/6 if you count Healer Cookie) being literal children.

Btw, the name of the AU comes from Dark Choco Cookie’s amnesiac alias, which is literally “Choco Cone Cookie”. He and Strawberry Crepe Cookie could tell that he has a high chocolate count in his dough, and since Strawberry Crepe gave him the similar headset, he took the name “Choco Cone Cookie” after the Wafflebots.

I might write more about this AU and elaborate on it some, maybe even actually write something or draw something (I’d say you can count more on the writing part), and yeah. That’s about it for now.

Honestly, it seems like we are voting for half a pair here lmao. Nobu's anti-mystery and anti-divinity aspects seem like they'd be great against B+ divinity and the rest of her skills and NP would also be great Arjuna on the other hand...

Well. He looks pretty? I don't think he is particularly amazing in this scenario especially since Avenger copied Hero of the Endowed, but he is extra firepower.

I think Casters are there to just keep her busy with summons and with Rule breaker additionally being anti-magic but I can't think of any statistical bonuses that Dante would get against Foreigner that are particularly amazing.

Beyond that, I do think it's a tossup between Berserker and Lancer for just a 'hit things very hard' class but we also need to go against the grail, which, might be Berserkers as the very strong generalists?

Honestly in a normal hgw/his more standard set arjuna would be better off here given he usually has the anti-divinity at least like nobu as well, not to mention he also has a debuff immune on his clairvoyance (the best in game, actually as far as I know, it’s 5 turns on a 6 turn cooldown and doesn’t leave as soon as it’s hit w one). The problem is that team archer wasn’t smart enough to get it on him like berserker was with kintoki so his clairvoyance only buffs investigating. Idk maybe he can still slow time down when he focuses. I feel like objectively his arrows would’ve normally had a longer range than nobu’s guns but to be honest I suspect fate probably doesn’t care that he could shoot like 2 miles out with thousands of arrows being shot near simultaneously; and that a flintlock rifle can only go about 75-100 metres while needing to be reloaded bc I’m almost positive nobu can shoot things farther away than that. (She can also summon 100000 guns but tbh that makes sense re: her lore anyway) If they were cool she would have a much smaller range per single gun but.

Caster is twofold wanted bc of Medea’s rulerbreaker, which has been a ‘stupid fate bullshit destroyer’ since like…heavens feel at least iirc, not to mention Dantes can summon absolute scads of shades which are equally competent as any other servant which would help hold the line. And also that one time he summon a demon. Who knows maybe he could even get us pizza now too

The main concern is….uh I’m not sure how much Gogh specifically counts as divine. Ik elder gods yada yada, but I’m not sure if the painter cancels that out? Or does the nymph bit then come into question? Does elder god bs count as a mystic? And does buff canceling also include debuff immune skills??

Lancer & Spade King (shocker), each in their own ways. Almost nobody hcs these characters exactly how I do therefore everyone else is automatically wrong (jk you do what you want within reason lol). Those are the 2 big ones, I can't think of many other characters to put here

Spade King is a irredeemable character. I bet the ONLY reason people say this is because Deltarune isn't finished yet. I've said it before and I'll say it again, other characters have done FAR worse things and are still treasured characters. There is hardly ANY basis behind this opinion

3. which scene I would like to erase from the universe and why.

it technically was erased from the universe via retcon but every time someone mentions to me about the original moenbryda minion desc. that implied urianger was creepy towards her it makes me want to bite the writer again. also yknow what?? the lancer quest where foulques dies. my boy deserves to live so many other random ass shitty npcs get to live. like ok foulques was a dick but like he was a dick because every he knows decided to be racist at him and he HAD a POINT. like maybe some people deserved a stabbing. and yet 'known canon rapist npc ungust' gets to live? im sure theres 800 other things ill think of later bc its not as if the game is free of weird narrative choices, but ill be real. most of the time theres something where im like "this shouldnt Exist" i just vaporize and rewrite it in my mind LMAO. hear me out about werlyt

5. the scene from it that lives in my head rent free.

everything urianger has ever said in his entire life and also 90% of shadowbringers. its really good. for no particular character reason i think a whole lot about when you and the scions go to storm eulmore and u walk in on vauthry and ryne immediately screams 'no, make him stop' bc hes eating a pile of meol and i know. i know. in my heart. that if it wasnt gonna be too heavy gore and a bunch of graphics, the story intended that to be read as him ripping into and eating that lion sin eater that always sat in that exact spot. i know in my heart they ran in on him mid transformation eating a lion raw with his hands. i know this. shadowbringers is normal and fine for everyone involved.

also yknow in endwalker after [6.0 SPOILERS BEGIN] meteion reveals thancred is dead, urianger speaks and she immediately turns to him and goes 'youre full of loathing and dont even know why you still exist here'. that fucks me up every day. do you know how much has to happen for urianger, whose entire motivations this entire time is that he loves people so so much, to Actively Loathe you. to Hate a scared child. and he hates her because she killed thancred. and he doesnt know why its never him who gets to be the one sacrificed. im fine thats fine [END 6.0 SPOILERS]

6. the scene that I think shows just how awesome they really are.

The final fight with him here he speaks to the wol "not as a hero, but as an adventurer", and asks if your journey was a blessing or a curse. I like zenos because he is very much an exact foil for Laurel and that scene just shows that. hes aware of how close they are, and he cares.. he wants to know if someone 'like him', as the wol is, ever actually had a chance to live a life that could be enjoyable. he's trying to connect this entire time the only way he can understand you... i get if people dislike zenos. tbh im like, zenos agnostic outside of the context of him and the wol LOL but. i think at the end hes able to show that he really truly did connect with the wol. he managed to make a bond and some kind of understanding.

at least, with a wol like laurel.... with my other WoLs its like "YOU DONT GET SHIT GO AWAY!!!!!!" poor zenos. anyways him calling you an adventurer instead of a hero at the very end is neat. he cares about you he wants to understand very badly. he loves laurel hes her princess ok in this zenoswol laurel essay i will,

8. a headcanon I have about this character.

theres so much horny zenos fanart and i respect this i understand where it comes from but im also like. this man does not practically know what sex is and cannot flirt. he has only the hunt. if he fucks he does it almost by accident and it started as a fistfight or he has to be instructed into it. he has never seen pussy before. the wols gotta give him a diagram bc he understands concept but not execution. hes got other priorities.

I'm so envious of you for your Ashiya Douman dreams tbh. All my dreams involving my favorite Heroic Spirit are rare and either short, scary, sad, or all three.

It's definitely a bizarre situation because at the time, I had been playing FGO for a year with maybe one dream about Lancer, and then Douman showed up out of nowhere. I hadn't even played Shimousa yet and only knew Douman as the "FGO clown guy". I remember waking up laughing and so confused about it, haha! As an NA-only player it was certainly a perplexing situation for me.

The only thing I can think of is that I somehow saw the card art for Douman's 3rd ascension in passing, and my subconscious latched onto it. Then I started periodically getting more dreams involving them and in drawing those, Douman grew on me over time. Technically I have yet to substantially dream of my favs as well even though I drew them a lot. ;-; 

I don't know how one would get to dream of one's favorites but I hope you get lots of cool and awesome dreams of yours! Vivid ones that play like a movie! :)

-yuzu's lil riding duel outfit is SO cute. pls. also yuzu crying with relief once she sees yuya is ok…baby ;_; theyre so Close to bein reunited….

-the problem with me trying to figure out how and why this series diverges from 5ds is that i remember Nothing Important from 5ds at all. i remember the dumbass details like that jack loved cup ramen JSDHKJ but its clearly an au (with..no yusei for some reason...) and im like. wondering if theyll ever explain WHY its an au from the original. or if im just supposed to Know. bc I Dont Yet

-I thought itd be really funny if jack DID defeat yuya in Three Turns like he said he was going to. and then he DOES. he beats him so hard yuya FLIES OFF HIS BIKE. AND BOUNCES. LMAO glad hes wearing a helmet at least. love u jack. also. i know it was probably framed in the way of jack being an asshole but I? kind of agree with him about this:

not that it's a BAD thing. he wants to make people happy, and it makes him happy in turn when theyre cheering for him! thats fine! (an irl example would be like, I enjoy making art for others to make them happy. but I also enjoy getting positive feedback for my own satisfaction!) absolutely nothing wrong with it!

HOWEVER. the impression I've gotten so far is that yuya gets upset when his opponent is the one being cheered for (a good example was the michio duel and that annoying trivia kid duel. he didnt seem real happy when the audience was rooting for them and not him!) as opposed to…I cant believe I'm comparing him to dennis but. the dennis v gon duel was a great example of what I think a more genuine entertainment duel should be…they were playing the roles of hero v villain, and dennis was great at improv there, quickly turning into the villain when Straight Man to his Comedy Guy routine Gon accused him of being the Real Villain in that situation. like he ROLLED with it and was perfectly fine with gon winning bc it suited their lil story and the audience loved it! I think entertainment dueling SHOULD be like that, like improv and acting bc you're entertaining ppl. ur a performer. u need to go w the flow more.

(Okay, this might not have been the best duel to show it off bc 1. hes dueling JACK of all ppl who declared hes gonna WIN and. he Will. 2. this is a situation where hes trying to showcase the strength of the lancers, so it wouldnt do to THROW the duel. but he couldve played into jacks dramatics a bit, made himself out to be more of a dramatic underdog, or a potential upstarter…for wanting to be an ENTERTAINER I want to see yuya channel his dramatics a LOT more than he does. esp w jack of all ppl!) to me it feels like yuya also ties a LOT of his self worth to how other ppl perceive his role in duels too which is Unhealthy (and again. is an extension of the 'smile when u want to cry' stuff imo, also pretty unhealthy) I…dont know if any of this is That Deep or theyre just trying to make jack seem like an asshole. I WANT it to be this deep bc its a REALLY interesting trait for a protag to have!

-kinda love how ppl in the Tops are dressed like old timey victorians. (also a lot of them have very western names) it just creates a very. unique vibe 

-can I also just say i LOVE LOVE LOVE the trope in ygo of 'person does what they think is the final finishing move, then theres smoke and everyone is like :0 and when the smoke clears, the person is still standing in the duel because of some trap/spell/effect' IT HAPPENS SO MUCH IN ARC V AND I EAT IT UP EVERYTIME.

-...jack gave this random child servant a card and told him it suited him and the kids mad jack 'changed' and got mad jack compared him to a 'weak card'...first off its gonna end up being smth like 'even weak cards have potential, none of them are useless, its like u, u feel like ur a low level but u also have potential' (which. very yusei thing btw) but also if my hero gave me a card i would literally be SO happy this kid is dumb asf. jack literally wasnt even being RUDE when he gave it to him and jack is usually SO Rude like CMON. 'wheeh i had NO cards and jack gave me one but its WEAK so i dont want it' this is called being ungrateful. i know hes a kid so I shouldnt be so annoyed but damn its rude. its a REALLY cute card too (not one I recognize and the text is in japanese but its a cute lil cyber girl with pink hair and a tuning fork and bc this is synchro I assume its a tuner monster or smth?)

-...went from jail to bougiest penthouse in the world. lmao and locked in his room....ur a rich persons pet now...'if u lose ur out of the penthouse' willing to bet its the same for jack since at the end of the day hes still. u know. a commons Guy cosplaying a bougie. funnily enough, the tops are saying 'as long as he keeps winning hes not a commons, hes one of us!' and the commons are saying 'hes a traitor who sold out!' then another commons guy being like 'NO jack is still OUR hero he doesnt belong to the tops!' etc. its like he cant fucking win no matter what he does! insane. jack ilu tho.

-...actually, first match is gon v crow. calling it now, gon loses his Stand In One Place shtick isnt gonna work v a motorcycle. i kinda think I want crow to win this tournament actually to duel jack KJHSDKJ i know itll prob be yuya but cmonnnn. its PERSONAL for crow. btw does this mean gon will be homeless for the rest of the friendship cup stuff since if u lose u get kicked outta the penthouse. where will he GO. ...tbh since crow has kids waiting at home for him it might be better if he loses first so he can take the losers of this tournament back home w him so they dont. go to jail again? maybe? we’ll see!!

More Deltarune Rambles/Long post:

I know Lancer is like "blue person who's name I don't know" but actually calls Kris by name a few times. I know once is when he helps them escape from the cages. Idk if he ever says it other than that but it's also sus that he only says "blue person who's name I do know" when Ralsei isn't there. 🤔🤔

And tbh a lot of characters seem to "forget" that Ralsei is even there? Berdly and Noelle almost never acknowledge him. Queen admits she forgot to make another cage for him. Also I think in the queen battle she says something like "wait wasn't there one more of you". He's also left out at the end when Queen is like "Noelle your unwanted honesty, Kris your chill vibes, Berdly etc" like she even acknowledges Berdly if not forgetting his name.

So characters who we know are "forgettable" include Ralsei, Berdly, and Papyrus.

I just think it's interesting that in the dark world it's like Ralsei can choose when people forget things or himself. He tells Kris to just forget about the whole Spamton thing too. Maybe it's a coincidence but I can't help but think abt the whole "Don't Forget" stuff too? Sus.. .

hi! who are your favorite Deltarune characters?

Ahhhhh that's hard! I haven't played chap 2 yet, cause my attention span flew south for the winter, so I don't really know the chap 2 background characters yet to name any. My favorite background character of 1 would probably be that huge bird, I really like how they look, and tbh they surprised me! Oh! Tied with Clover! She's so cute and such a good design!

Overall, I'm pretty predictable. I love basically all Deltarune characters to an extent, the annoying doge just makes such interestin lil dudes. My favorites overall, personality and design, would be the king, Jevil, Spamton, and Susie. Design wise, Seam, Swatch, and Lancer. Actually, Lancer would be a fav too, he's hilarious, and such a darlin. Very brave, and very heroic for a bad guy, hehe. I'll probably love Seam even more when more chapters give more dialogue from them, and maybe Swatch will catch my interest more once I play chap 2.

Susie is just all the best tropes, and done really well. Masculine girl who isn't written as her masculinity being her only personality, lonely bully who just wanted friends all along, loyal to the very end. She's funny, she's coolness incarnate, she's emotionally vulnerable.

I also just love how high her friends tea fuels her, she may tease and bug Ralsei a lot, but like most things, she cares a lot more than she's care to admit, and it's just so sweet. The other characters have vastly different tea numbers because of who they're comfortable around, but!! They all fuel her so much with the power of friendship! Susie just!!! Loves them all so much!!! Don't tell her I called her out on this, but not so secretly, she's the biggest sap of the team!

Jevil, of course!!!!!! JESTERS, BABEYYYY. Mysterious, powerful, goofy, brutal. I love his laugh.

I love that the doge lets fat characters be super powerful in his games too, it's so rare and makes me feel good. They get to be humorous, or fail, without it feeling the same way most fat ppl are written when they are humorous or fail, yaknow? They get to have depth and a whole realm of emotions, or flat out secrecy, instead of the same tropes the same way. They're actually characters.

Jevil being more aware than most people, and suffering mentally for it, is so interesting and tragic, I can see why so many ppl want him and Spamton to interact. They are polar opposites, bound to be good foils, even if they hate each other, but have also gone through a lot of the same existential dread, they could probably yell and laugh and talk for hours, until they destroy wherever their at with their antics.

I think I lean a bit more toward wanting to see his and Seam's dynamic though, a quiet wisdom to balance out his chaotic smarts. I hope they were besties, and get to be besties again.

I want to see the rest of Jevil, when he's not just drunk on power or being vague, his other emotions, his hobbies, him forced to be mundane for a little while, forced to let ppl get to know him, or at least see what that was like in the past. I think it would drive him crazy at first, but he'd find subtle ways to enact chaos within a community without getting arrested. Leave riddles on doorknobs, solve equations without credit or explanation, put jam in shoes if he's feeling especially giggly. We barely know him, but I love him, your honor.

Actually I haven't been able to beat the jerk yet, so -10/10 actually, he's a bully and a jerk and I hope he steps on a Lego! Jevil cancelled!!!!!!

Idk why I love the King so much, but I do. He's such a satisfying villain. Really puts our teams loyalties in each other and to their morals to the test, and has great emotional tension in his boss fight. His fight is just really fun imho, not too hard, not too easy, nice visually. He's got a good design, good dialogue, and is delightfully nasty.

And his son is babey!!!! He's so sweet I could get diabetes, the funniest dialogue, and just an oddball. I like that he's not random, just weird, like Tilly from Big City Greens, or Greg from Over the Garden Wall. He makes the strangest decisions, but they have a clear line of logic in his optimistic lil kid brain. Realistic written kid in general.

And his dynamic with Susie is one of the best parts of the game!!!! Susie is so lonely and insecure, a kind, goofy little brother is what she's always needed, especially someone who shares her interests in things like mud pies and weapons and "badness". She's just what he needed too, a good influence, someone who values him and isn't just there out of obligation or pity. Someone who loves him, in person. I hope with Lancer's dad not intimidating possible friends away, he gets to make a little rowdy crew to keep him company when officials are busy.

Spamton, Spamton, Spamton. What can I say about tumbley's current funky lil dude that someone else hasn't said better? He's a hilarious, layered, confusing little tragedy. The change from laughter to sorrow can come so quick. His life is hell. His life is *on sale, 1.99 or no money back!!!!!!* He knows so much but cannot tell. I'm not up to date on theories, but if his sadness is Gaster originated, I'm gonna throw hands!! Holy, holey hands!!! Literally, metaphorically, spiritually, technically, *Finally, the vacay you've always dreamed of!!!!* Let the little rat alone! Or give him something less cryptic if ur gonna help and leave, dangit!! Stars, I hope we can bring him back.
