I was overwhelmed to make any rounded post but I will try to make sense now XD

Anyway first in order, the one we wait the most when April arrives is here! Artem!

The theme for 5th Bday related to their early career, so I was hoping for Junior Attorney Artem because we did see bits from his Intern/Graduate Attorney Era in Day and Night SSR and Belle Nuit d'Amour SSR, and we know how he is as Senior Attorney now. He mentioned that he was more like her back then in Dream & Hereafter card, and a soon-to-retired attorney told Rosa about Artem style used to being a bit aggressive (they were talking about chess but it's not hard to see, it's also about his approach as attorney too). Also in line with a past we read in Day and Night SSR, someone who doesn't even think of the risk he might face because there is someone who needs his help and his lines in the 5th Bday PV!! I need to dissect his mind (very very fond)

I am very excited about this card, especially with the artemrosa art very much a callback to Belle Nuit d'Amour pre evol, i can't wait to pull it and I hope it delivers story-wise!!

Also finished the rerun free mr a few days ago and you definitely can get it for free again but there is no s-chips and namecard in rerun.

Well, Zuo Ran's 5th Birthday event starts like April 18, so that's Friday business. I already secured funds to get it XD

Now, about the GLB server LOL

Usually I didn't address it much but some special cases since two unexpected features came earlier.

First of all, Flight of Fancy feature.

Every ML garden (this is an old screenshot tbh) where collecting nectar that eventually gathers itself, so it will reach 100% to unlock the page of the story (there are four pages per story).

Very easy feature, in general, level up skills/structure (25%/50%/75% you will get currency to level it up), collecting nectar (don't let it reach limit so it can keep gathering) then get the ornaments for the garden after finished stories (like the one marked with hands in my screenshot).

Skill/Structure I am talking about (I am currently unlocking newest lu jinghe story in tw server)

In this update, there should be two stories: One related to Main Story and from ML POV and the other one from Outsider POV.

I am very much an absolute shill for Main Story, so I always encourage everyone to read that first. It's the story with these illustrations:

I will be honest.... this is genuinely baffling simultaneously also the most hilarious decisions LOL

Because the Card Mksupposed to be after every ML's Dream & Hereafter series roll out. Baffling decisions because the current GLB server cards, none of the ML/All ML whaler would reach the namecard yet wwww

Anyway because it's here anyway, here how it will look:

For the reward itself, basically each card has points and each rarity has a certain amount of points, such as:

SSS: 50

SSR: 30

SR/MR: 8

R: 1

The reward for the card collecting is:

Badge: 300 points

Avatar Frame: 600 points

Cursor Effect: 1000 points

Namecard: 1600 points

In-between there is S-chips and materials.

Please note that it only works for the first one, the copy that comes after that is not counted.

For example for counting: in my TW acc, for Artem, I have 2 SSS, 8 SSR, 9 SR, 3MR and 12 R

So it's:

2 x 50= 100

8 x 30 = 240

9 x 8 = 72

3 x 8 = 24

12 x 1 = 12

Total: 448

Relatively accurate? There's not going to be any species out of their time and place, but I'm not super bothered by, say, exact plant species and how realistic certain story aspects are.

I really do love how you’ve got panthera and Fu’s relationship, there’s respect but also he’s not another person who she bends over backwards to accommodate like ladybug its a very good balance

Fu’s reaction to Feast is splendid, and interesting backstory… he’s like old as balls so i never really thought about his parents, i think i assumed he was born into the order but being abandoned is a curious twist, you’ve given me something to think about for my own work actually, even if its never mentioned its helpful for how to write him

As for Marinette, Fu, Juleka, and all the guardian stuff. You're right on Marinette being too focused! In her pov, it says Fu stares directly at her when referring to guardians. In Juleka's, he stares at both of them

Marinette has never considered Fu may have been teaching Panthera the same shit hes been teaching her. In her eyes, shes been trained for this job and only her!

And so she brunt forces that worldview whenever she talks to juleka, esp about the miraculouses.

In her eyes, Panthera doesnt know as much as she does! So of course shes taking the lead, of course she's not making the right decision on letting the others have their miraculouses full time- of course its right for her to take control! Fu knows best, and Ladybug knows what Fu wants, so Ladybug knows best!

It's not meant to be demeaning, its not meant to strip Pantheras autonomy, but it does!

And thats a pattern with them. Ladybug is the plan guy and that has gotten to her head about how they treat their partnership.

Personal Review:

I’m writing this when I’m at chapter 200, so I’m nowhere near finished this novel, but I’ve loved this from chapter one. Honestly, I love the way this novel weaves comedy and tragedy together ( the latest chapters I’ve been reading have been steadily ripping my heart out 🥲).

Let’s break this down into sections.

World building: it’s done quiet well when one considers other novels surrounding game transmigrations. Personally, I thought it was just the right amount for this particular set up. Though, there isn’t a lot in the beginning, as MC still thinks he’s in a game at that point :) it does get fleshed out more later on.

Plot: while I’m only 200 chapters in, I will say I love the pacing of this novel. The plot is very action heavy, but the characters do get a few breaks between the crises they have to deal with. Each arc is intersecting, and so far none have been too rushed or dragged out. While the beginning of the novel may seem dragged out to some, I reckon that it was one of the best beginnings for a novel of this genre. I honestly think I would have done the same thing in his position tbh. If you do find the pace slow though, read up to around chapter 50 before giving up (I can’t remember exactly where the arc picks up speed but it’s around there somewhere).

Fight Scenes: I need to touch on this separately. The fight scenes are so well written. I adore the action genre, but it’s rare to find fight scenes as well written as this. Especially the boss raids. I love those scenes so much djhdhjedbjsdhks.

Romance: non-existent.

Side Characters: there’s a lot of things I can’t touch on here without spoiling. The characters are fairly well written and each get their own developments and honestly, I love them all so much. Although, I will say that the main group have slower development than one might expect. Since MC has a lot of walls up, their backgrounds aren’t fleshed out until later on, and even then most still only have foreshadowing for said backgrounds at chapter 200. I will say, given their personalities though, it does match with them to not reveal a lot. Also, their personalities are fleshed out well, especially due to the occasional chapters that are in their POV’s. As of this point in the novel, Deathbringer owns my heart. I love the main groups dynamics with the MC (I feel like, even though them getting closer is slow-paced and bumpy, it fits given the mc’s situation and persona) and how each of them interact with each other as well.

Mentality: I’m referring to the main character with this. If you can’t do heavy topics, this novel is probably not the best for you. MC struggles a lot, he’s just good a hiding it, even from the reader. Can’t elaborate further due to spoilers, just know that a fair few of the things he does will make a lot of sense after learning more surrounding this.

Foreshadowing: there is so much. It’s done really well, and honestly, I don’t even know what half of it is for yet, but as an Ex-rank fan, I know how to pick up on hints in novels. But for the ones that have obviously had the related topics revealed, it was well-done.

Main Character: this man right here is going to make you cry and laugh at the same time. And cringe. His inner dialogue is amazing, with half of his thoughts being comedic and the other half being damn tragic. The more I get to know about him, the more I love him tbh. Some people may find his attitude annoying at some points, but once learning more about the previous life, it is so easy to see why he acts the way he does at some points. Honestly, I just want to give him a hug so badly. I will say, this novel does explore what is means to be human quite a bit, and that is a necessary point to be aware of to understand the main characters thoughts and actions (In my opinion it is anyways).

System / Game: this topic here is complicated. The game that MC gets trapped in isn’t elaborated on a lot, but given the foreshadowing showing up about the system, it’s easy to conclude it’s actually important to the plot later on. Can’t really say more on this topic, since it involves spoilers and nothings actually been confirmed at the point I’m at.

Anyway, go read this!! And feel free to tell my any thoughts :). I’ll probably be posting my thoughts as I read more of this, but those will contain spoilers soooooo.

Abigail Headcanons

Summary: A collection of loose hc that I have for the daughter character that I've created in the past for the moon boys and the reader

Warnings: Not much. Abi does canonically have a pet tarantula though so beware of that.

Her full legal name is just Abigail L/N-Spector, but in spirit she is Abigail L/N-Spector-Lockley-Grant, you and the boys call her that as a joke but also when you’re mad at her when she’s done something bad.

She’s fluent in both Spanish and French because Steven and Jake taught her both languages respectively since the day she could talk. This actually caused a bit of an issue in the later years of her school career because she was fluent to the point that she would have just passed both common and advance classes. So she just had a free period during the time she would have had her language classes.

She has a pet tarantula she’s named Maple. She got her when she was around 11 or 12 because she wanted one as a pet. The boys set a really high mark to see how dedicated and responsible she could be while also hoping that maybe by the time she reached it she’d want a “normal simple pet” like her own fish, or hamster, maybe a turtle, or literally anything else. But when she reached that goal she still wanted a tarantula and the boys promised and they are unfortunately fathers of their word. Thankfully she’s the only one who handles her because she’s HER pet, but Steven is scared of Maple, Marc isn’t too bothered as long as Abi keeps her away from him, and Jake is okay with her and is actually quite fond of her and will take a gander at her in her tank whenever he’s in Abi’s room.

She has a bad habit of chewing her pens and pencils. She’s tried breaking this habit and was vaguely successful, but it’s only when she’s in public or around others. When she’s in private she still does it.

Her favorite subject in school was biology, anatomy, and psychology. Her least favorite was math and physics. She thinks math is boring. That’s also why she dislikes physics but she also had straight up beef with her physics teacher. Why there was beef? The world may never know.

As a kid, Steven would encourage her to read books by paying her 50 cents for every chapter she read. This was basically her allowance until she was given a real allowance later in her life because she had read so many chapters that she’d have a good amount of money saved up from all the books she’d read.

Abi was taught to always be polite and respectful and follow the golden rule. But is she decides that she’s had enough and wants to put people in their place she will very much do so and will verbally eviscerate them. She has Steven’s sass and Marc’s temper in there somewhere and she’s not afraid to use it. Along with Jake’s self defense lessons in case someone wants to fight. This may or may not be where the physics teacher beef originated from.

She can see Khonshu and they have a unique grandfather and granddaughter dynamic. Khonshu denies that he has an attachment to Abi but he secretly cares for her to a considerable degree and was unofficially a part of her life and he secretly goes out of his way to protect in case she’s ever in danger. Sometimes she messes with him by calling him grandpa and other iterations. He calls her “little worm” or “smallest worm” but when he wants to soften up her calls her “Starlight” or “Stardust”.

In addition, Khonshu was banned from giving permission to Abi as a kid by you and the boys because he’d give her permission on things that you didn’t want her to do. So there was a rule made that “Grandpa Khonshu’s permission doesn’t count.”

tbh nothing of the caliber of my favorite fics, all of which were written like over 10 years ago </3

but as far as like the smutty longfic of my dreams there's one currently still being updated called restricted section. sometimes the updates take a while, but it's the only fic i've at all invested myself in in the past year. but it is like 50% smut and if bratty sub frank/older dom gerard kinky bdsm (and also theyre in love) fic isn't your thing then like it really probably won't be your thing.

if people have recs for more recent stuff i'm open! but despite the rec i just gave i tend to stay away from wips bc i hate things not being finished. i'm allowing myself to read this one bc the author has an excellent track record. but like the 3+ months or so between the last chapter and the one that was posted last week actually killed me bc i check for updates EVERY DAY lmfao. i wont start a wip from an author who doesn't have years of completed works under their belt bc we all know how it burns when they get abandoned. but if anything completed is good, let me know!

also like. what happened to oneshots? like even long oneshots. like i have been all things unholy is a oneshot. no chapters. posted as a whole. i miss that and i feel like i NEVER go on ao3 anymore and see like someone has just dropped 60k of frerard into the universe...i wish they would.

ninjago is layed out so shittily tbh. the two (2) pilots weren't originally part of the first season but now they are. we have multiple "seasons" that are just one episode. nobody can remember how many seasons we actually have off the top of their head because of that. the main show is actually 2/3 different ones— s1 and s2, s3-10, s11-onwards. we changed character designs and some voices halfway through the series because of the spin-off movie that was almost entirely different than the show. the first two seasons are 20+ episode, the next 7 are 10 episodes each with a main character each season. season 10 is literally only four fucking episodes for some reason. season 11 has two different chapters (fire and ice) and it's literally the only season that does that. for seasons 11+ the episodes were shortened to ten minutes but we got double the number of them. most people count day of the departed (between seasons 6 and 7) as it's own in-between episode and not a season, but also count the island (fuck idr. s14 and s15 i think) as it's own season—which, by the way, first released in ten minute parts (it was a single episode) that were not cut well. and it was only in french. we had to rely on french people and google translate to tell us the plot. i don't think ive ever fully watched it in english. dotd, by the way, is not on netflix despite the rest of the shows being there, and while you don't have to watch it, it is an important episode to watch because a character stops being a ghost during it, the main villain of the next season was in it, and it's just generally confusing as a kid to have not watched it. there is a recap series that is only on youtube. there are about a million comics, almost none of which really matter or affect the main plot. however. in the last season the main characters lose their powers and, almost immediately after that, a sequel show that is actually distinct enough from the first one to be it's own show releases, in which... they have their powers back. because they went and got them back in a comic. which i can guarantee most people did not read bc we could not be bothered to look for it hard enough online.

said sequel show is back to 20 episode seasons and 20+ minute episodes thankfully. however whole seasons keep consistently getting leaked way before they're supposed to drop (most of the time they're in english. most of the time.) which leads to 50% of fans watching them, 49% thinking people who watch them early are monsters, 1% not really caring, and a whole lot of people watching the leaked versions and then watching the official ones months later because they feel bad. this keeps happening. it happened with the old show too. they released a trailer for the second-to-last season of the main show months after it officially released. months. the final season was released in two parts (parts. not chapters.) and on netflix the island (again. a single episode) is credited as being the part one to seabound (an entire season). they somehow fucked up the timing so bad with the final few episodes of the final season so that they were literally putting out several filler episodes (not even good ones. they could have been erased and the plot would have been better.) before the finale which made it feel like they had too much time on their hands. and then the finale felt extremely rushed. they had an 18 episode season (3 hours of showtime) with ~5 filler episodes that did nothing at all so you would assume they were just killing time. and then they essentially panicked and shoved everything together really fast in the finale. i still don't know how they did that. incomprehensible choices were made during production and i hope to never be in a room with any of the people who made it.

update on uh… my feelings about writing atm?

I’ve been really enjoying doing rewrites and edits on my upcoming* longfic, which is such a relief lol.

I had 12 chapters written out before I started posting my echo longfic (TD) on tumblr, and then I got carried away with that and this one (shadows of kamino) went by the wayside. Then anytime I went back to it, and especially since my writing had improved a lot (imo hehe), I would just hate all of it. I loved my characters and did a lot of behind the scenes development of them, but reading what I’d already written was just weird. It was like I was telling the story, but I just wasn’t doing it right. It was basically hard to edit because it already felt like I’d written the story so poorly that I couldn’t rectify it and would have to start again.

Anywayyyyy recently I’ve actually broken through the barrier and managed to start adding, changing, and taking away stuff in a way that doesn’t feel like me hating my past self for writing so poorly lol. I’m starting to be excited about the story again and ig it it’s just nice. I was definitely about to give up, cause tbh it’s going to take me so long to finish — I’ve got up to chapter 30 planned out in detail rn but it’ll probably end up at 50.

yeah idk how to conclude that bit so… yeah.

lowkey writing these event requests is taking years off my life rn 😭 they’re such fun ideas but why are you all so ANGSTY. My GOD. I’ll get through them dw, but it’ll take me a while. I feel like I keep saying this but I really wanna just let it be known. I’d probably classify myself as a slow writer? maybe? and also the tendency to make fics longer to try and flesh out characters more is really taking me recently. I’m trying to restrain myself a little for the sake of my sanity lol. We’ll see how that goes.

This focus on internal senses is what I wish everyone would include in their smut. But writing erotica is a skill! Fics that made me cry: The one fic that had any angst in it, Shattered Remains. Writing it felt really good. I loved it. But it did also make me very emotional.

Fics that made me smile: I don't really remember anything but the one fic that literally cracked me up every single time I attempted to read or edit it. Keepin' You Hangin' On The Telephone. My fiancée and I (jokingly, at first) tried coming up with absolutely ridiculous euphemisms for the vulva and vagina and after telling @wilfriede about it, they made me keep every single one of them. Without tagging the fic as crack, or warning people about it. And, honestly? It was kind of a blast. People liked it despite the horrendous euphemisms, and we three got a huge kick out of it and laughed about it for ages lol.

Gifts: Five! That's all the gifts I've ever received! :))) I got two Hacks fics from @lilolilyr, and three podfics from @wilfriede! Two of those were my own works, which made the gifts even more exciting! Like. Their Podfic of Bitte bitte mich is literally perfect. It's exactly how I imagined it and how I would have read it myself. (And you should totally listen to it.)

As an actual yuri warrior, I think Minori would like sweet, fluffy stuff. She'd probably die when the couple finally gets to the handholding 50 chapters in (only halfway kidding). It's just a feeling, but I think her and Kohane would binge Bloom into You together, and maybe it would be funny if she got all of Leo/Need into "The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All" (Great manga, if you haven't read it). Because, uh. Music.

Theoretically, if I ever were to consider writing a TF One Shattered Glass retelling/continuation, I would definitely base it off of Animal Farm.

Also, it's been a while since I've last read Animal Farm so I'm sorry in case I got any names wrong/am a bit wonky on the plot. I don't have my copy with me right now, so I can't look any of it up.

Characters

Quintessons = Humans Sentinel = The Farmer Orion = Napoleon D-16 = Snowball Elita-1 = The third pig (?) Various miners = the other animals

First Half of the Movie

The first part of the movie would largely stay the same except that Orion is not as naive or nice. Instead, he's clearly power hungry, he saves Jazz not bc he cares about his co-worker/friend dying but bc Jazz will be in his debt, he's looking for the Matrix not bc he wants to help the miners but bc it will make him more powerful and maybe even allow him to overpower Sentinel.

I think I'd even keep D's darker moments - he can still want to kill Sentinel, but I don't think he'd try to kill Starscream anymore. Mostly bc the High Guard's motto has changed to sth like "Together We Are Strong" (no, that's not a quote from Reinhardt in Overwatch - you are imagining things). Not yet sure if it's him or Orion executing Sentinel.

Pretty sure I would have them abandon Bee (who is slightly more bitter and jaded than in the movie) in Sublevel 50, though. Maybe it's even B-127 who wants to go back bc he is afraid of the things (punishments) that may be awaiting him in the outside world and they just let him, Orion maybe even convinces him that it's better to stay safe down there. This way, he has one less competitor for power. Then they move on and never think about it again. D might remember him later, once he's Megatron and banished and go back to get him bc he realises that that was very fucked up. But tbh. as much as it hurts my heart to treat my blorbo like that, I think it would be the best statement for the story if B just vanished from the story and we never get to see him again. Because this time they (Orion) are not out to actually improve stuff. They just want to change who's in power.

Rest of the plot till they return to Iacon stays largely the same for now.

Some more plot points:

The uprising of the miners/Orion leading them into battle? That's the Great Battle between Animals and Humans.

Sentinel's execution? That's the animals banishing the humans from the farm.

Orion receiving the Matrix ? That's the pigs taking control of the political system of the farm bc they are "best suited" to it. All seems to be fine and dainty for a bit. :) (Not yet sure how Orion would receive the Matrix. Not yet sure if he actually even gets it. If he does, it's not almost sentient like it is in the movie where it only bonds with good leaders. Instead it is just a pure power-up. Instead of Megatron, Orion gets the transformation/power-up scene.)

All the miners receiving T-Cogs? First Liberation of the Animals. All Animals Are Equal.

Optimus banishing Megatron (would happen later than in the movie - only after the first functionist rules have been introduced)? That's Napoleon banishing Snowball. We don't see Megatron (or the High Guard) again for the rest of the story.

Some more:

Not yet entirely sure what I would replace the windmill with. Maybe some sort energon refectory/distribution system.

The everchanging/vanishing rules on the farm? Some animals are more equal than others? That's OP and his governement slowly introducing more and more functionist rules.

It ends, rather suddenly, when one day one of the miners realises that oh damn, OP is barely distinguishable from Sentinel. Except instead of cogless miners we now have Functionism.

Maybe there is another racing scene with two new miners (Hot Rod, anyone?) And someone, maybe Jazz or a random NPC we met in the first chapters/during the first racing scene is like: Huh, when did we start needing miners again?

And that's it.

Maybe, if I'm weak, there'd be an epilogue/additional oneshot where we get to see B-127, Megatron & co. again and learn what happened to them. But at the same time, I think that would dramatically weaken the story. + It would be depressing af bc they are not in a good place.

The lack of live updates is actually quite interesting??? I think, of all the chapters to do it on, three is definitely A Choice ( considering the dream sequence and everything ) but the Shaking coming out of nowhere, just like infrequent distress calls is incredibly funny.

Ah. Yes. The massive cast...I'd smile and say I'm handling it well but if I'm being honest, it's a lot for me too. Especially with the added layer of mystery and conspiracy and everyone being a liar ( and me being the one who has to untangle and weave all the facts together ). I've said this before but I'm weirdly attached to this guy it's a disease I don't know why it happened or how it happened ( considering they made him Ugly in the anime ) but it did and now everyone who reads tsp has to deal with my barely contained and unsubtle feelings about him whenever there's a 70s precinct scene.

Back on the 'everyone's a liar' note. I wanted to make it very clear with the switch from 70s M.E. to 50s Dazai and Yosano interacting in the morgue that people lie. It's expected! Especially when everyone is trying so hard to protect themselves and their interests. Characters that tell the truth, though veiled by riddles and white lies, are common because they advance the plot but not realistic. If the cops came to me and asked if I was at In N Out on Friday at 7pm ( and I was? ) I'm lying just on principle tbh.
