I gave it some thought right….The epilogue kinda comes full circle. Especially when it comes to Katsuki feeling behind or not enough.
Katsuki internalises the idea that he’ll never be good enough when it comes to Izuku. A huge part of Katsuki’s character is his inferiority complex, which he never seemed to learn how to tackle properly. During the war he was still thinking about how he fell behind from Izuku “izuku…can I still catch up to you” and then Izuku goes and loses his quirk before he can rationalise his feelings properly. Katsuki then spends 8 years on this suit to ‘settle a score’ or ease the idea that maybe he is as good as Izuku, that he is valued, and can stand on equal footing. That maybe what Izuku said on ground beta wasn’t a whole load of bullshit. But when he’s given Izuku an offer to join his agency Izuku rejects it because, at the end of the day, the feeling of inferiority was never an issue with Izuku but had engulfed Katsuki his entire life. What if Izuku did just want to teach and Katsuki was in this one-sided relationship for the last 8 years (we won’t know until the official epilogue comes out) and disregarded Izuku’s feelings about their shared rivalry? That Izuku could still be by his side and could still have a shared love for heroics but just in a different way.
I love the idea of Izuku moving on from the rivalry/co-dependency they had for years. Kinda getting rid of or letting go of Katsuki like Katsuki tried to do all those years ago from middle school to UA. It’s interesting to see Katsuki stuck 8 years in the past when we all thought it would’ve been Izuku (with losing his quirk and all) it’s so karmic. Like wow there was a time when Katsuki wanted nothing to do with Izuku while Izuku desperately clung on but nearly a decade later Katsuki wants nothing but Izuku and Izuku just simply wants to move on.

I have an issue with the "the giga cover is likely fujobait" because I can't help but think:
if it was truly fujobait, why now?
Why try to get their attention if MHA is now in the 100M club? The series now so popular, hori/jump doesn't need queer shippers to increase its popularity.
Why try to get fujos and queer fans, if it's already popular in that group? Wasn't it apparently shown that MHA is more popular with women and LGBTQ+ fans?
Why try to get that audience when hori had the chance to do that back in 2016-2018 when Kr//bk was the popular gay ship? Wasn't there an interview where someone pretty much asked hori if he's for kr//bk, but instead of playing along, hori made it about bkdk (the ship that no one took seriously at the time) and said he saw the hand hold more about bkdk angst. Kr//bk was a popular ship, it had bones making official art of them. The smash parody manga had moments of it. Two heroes was their movie [I believe hori didn't really help in that movie. However, notice how in the second movie, (he was a part of that one), focused on bkdk (again, the ship no one took seriously)]. Hori had the ability to use that ship as bait, but he seemed to be the only one out of everyone else to not go for it. Instead he kept pushing for the ship that was thought to be too toxic to even become a platonic ship.
If horikoshi did not want bkdk to seen as romantic, why isn't he stopping jump for implying it? You really can't say that he has no ability to, the guy went to bones and told them the ending. Now, notice how bones suddenly stopped making iz//ch moments and added a bkdk moment in the recap episodes (something that they would never do 2 seasons prior). The assistant (whom hori is friends with) is a loud speaker of dkbk lol. Hori follows him on twitter, there's no way that hori hasn't seen his dkbk art once. Same for katsuki's JP VA (who is also a friend of Hori).
Why try to bait the audience when the manga is ending?
Idk, maybe there's a chance he is actually queerbaiting and make iz//ch canon, but again, after everything?
After the togachako arc? He had made ochako confess her crush on midoriya, only for seconds later to not only brush it off as unimportant (unimportant in the sense of it was more of way to relate to toga and speak with her, it wasn't really used as a "canon izu//ocha" moment), she tells toga that she could have ochako's blood for the rest of her life (and we know that's toga's love language of returning/accepting her feelings) and she told toga that she had the cutest smile in the whole world. Like, didn't hori say that toga was made for ochako's character? I feel like it wouldn't make sense for hori to do all of this, then have ochako end up with midoriya, it would feel like a middle finger to toga tbh.
After chapters 285, 322, 362, 367, 403, and 404? The apology? The "you're the closest one to midoriya izuku, therefore I need to kill you in order to make him go crazy". The heart shaped black whip after seeing bakugou's dying body? The "their feelings became one" double spread? this bullet point could be spread to about 2-3 document pages, but I'm just going to summarize for this post lol. But overall, these chapters (and a few more), show me (imo) that it the "fujobait" claim isn't really strong to use against bkdk.
Again, maybe this is queerbait, because I know that there are times where other media/anime have done simliar and still had the MC in a heterosexual relationship, and leave everyone dumbfounded lol. Once again, all I say to this is "let's see what happens."
P.S. Isn't this the same author who said that he thought that naruto was going to end at 698 (the implied SNS ending) lol? Idk if it's true, that's just something I've heard.

Maybe you have noticed but in regards Izu...the narrative punish him(fuck you Hori) as well the majority of the fandom. Some Shinso fans think Izu should have come clean to Shinso about his quirk regarding the Izu vs Shinso 2.0 (coincidentally Aizawa stopped trained him after Shinso lost) and how in "Izu and Shinso are friends" Izu should pity Shinso as well we, the readers, while Izu's past is not seen as a big deal.
Some do say " yeah bk was meanie" and that if we are lucky.
I dont get why Shinso thought Izu(the kid who calls himself deku, not dekiru) whose quirk break his bones (of course UA does nothing. Has any teacher help anyone with their quirk?) And is mostly like from poor background is a golden child....
Meanwhile Shinso is really silent about BK.
What I'm trying to say here is...how Hori and the fandom ignore the ramifications of Izu's abuse or use to prop others characters.
"Shinso is a good guy bc he punched BK for Izu" cool...but why cant Izu do that? Why we dont get a word of what Izu thinks about that? Why he cant have closure?
(We see this in ships too. Ochako the super cool GF defeats BK...and Izu's pain is not important, not the healing! He has a gf duh🙄😒)
Yeah this is actually one of the biggest problems I have with the bakugo and izuku relationship/ rivalry or whatever it is (it's definitely not romantic or a friendship) izuku never gets to reflect or be the one to stand up for himself and some people say," oh it's IZUKUS character he doesn't realise that what bakugo has done is bad and he just forgives everyone who ever does him dirty" or something along those lines which really annoys me because ITS COMPLETELY FALSE. We can see in the first chapter after the suicide incident that izuku can actually feel negative emotions towards KATSUKI and that he actually knows and realises that what KATSUKI is doing is WRONG. However, because of hori's love for katsuki he can be never make him seem like the bad guy which 1) ruined katsukis development 2) ruined izukus and other characters development.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Concerning the shinso situation I don't think Izuku has to own up TO NOTHING!! No offence but hori made shinso kind of dumb when he chose that out of ALL hero class students you CHOOSE to target izuku who YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE DOESN'T SEEM TO FIT IN OR GO BY YOUR STUPID SILVER SPOON IDEOLOGY. Iam all for shinso and izuku being friends and I have talked about ways how to change the narrative so izuku and shinso's interactions can make sense in the narrative but yeah idk what's going on with hori.
Lastly, when it comes to izuku and his backstory the fandom mainly ignores it because it's not consistently brought up as something that affected izuku even though we can clearly see it did. Hori also stated that he wished he didn't make bakugo as mean and you can clearly see him try and undermine bakugos actions by making him think about izuku and only izuku also the fandom will eat anything that's BKDK which they think is a better version of saskue and Naruto but in reality this is a toxic wish version.

oh yeah! their relationship made sense and at least didnt have the weird stuff sns had to endure -yk, the killing most of the time. No idea about eremin but satosugu? Oh that doomed love was real and idc what anyone says, the tragedy its too good.
Bkdk is strange to know, bc a lot of ppl who are vocal about their opinions about them are really against it, but there are also random ppl who see it and assume they are endgame/already a couple or are starting to "accept" the author wants that for them (in "" bc horikoshi hasn't confirmed nor denied anything). The fact no girl is "assigned" to bkg its too funny -yeah he isnt swinging that way, he prefers to obsess over All Might or his childhood friend and thats it.
More ranting incoming! This is now a ranting chain! + some meta ideas????
It would be sooo bad for them both to just get married and have a child -any possibility of them being a cute couple in canon, with a satisfying ending, has vanished. Once again ill say it, if he developed them more, this kind of ending would be tiring and cliche, but at least make some sense, make some ppl happy or dont mind it. Now?? So many chances to make it more romantic, even if bad written, so many chances to say fuck off with the bkdk... I'll never get over Izuku's rejection of Toga's love. Ne-ver.
Himiko whose feelings are closer to Ochako's towards Izuku and serve as a way to connect them together, is rejected. Ochako who sees this, who admits she understands her love and agrees in different aspects, doesn't even think about telling Izuku anything -her confession is for Himiko, not him. The "big" reveal of her feelings is interrupted, because this isn't his place to be, this isn't his fight not issue. Izuku, who rejects Himiko explaining how he gets admiring someone and wanting to be close to them, but that's not what romantic love is about bc that's what he feels for All Might. All Might. Fucking All Might.
No mention of Katsuki "Kacchan" Bakugou, even when Midoriya admits he admires him, has since their childhood, and also feels like he was this amazing person closer to him than All Might? When he thinks, but doesn't say, he imitates him without even thinking, and can't hate those nasty parts of himself because that's what made Kacchan Kacchan? No mention of him when saying "yes you can admire someone and feel good being around them and imitating them, but that isn't romantic love"? But what we get is "for all of his triumphs, he is still a damn nerd"?
Literally what was the reason. How can you do that accidentally? It was easy to mention him too, it would:
Provide more "evidence" for his argument
Shut down bkdk
Establish their friendship more and state how he usually admires ppl in a platonic way, which could then be used to explain how he loves Ochako without having that kind of situation of imitating her in particular.
It was literally so easy to do this, just adding "and also I feel this way towards Kacchan!" without needing to give more context as he usually tends to do that leaving others confused.
This addition could also add a little gag scene, maybe with Himiko being all confused about who tf Kacchan is, or Ochako thinking "okay Deku-kun no need to drag her more".
But no, the decision of not shutting bkdk down was made, along with no giving Ochako and Izuku more intimacy when it was easy. This is just- not "idk how to write a good romance so I'll just avoid it until I have no choice", the "there's no choice but adding romance in this moment" scenes have been happening and still there's nothing like that! WHY?
The last time something slightly romantic happened was with the gifts they received and Izuku blushing and Ochako receiving the keychain, and still... for him it was more of a gag scene, probably bc "omg I have never received a gift from someone else and its from a GIRL who is MY FRIEND?", and for her it gave her a symbol that connects her to Himiko later on thru their feelings for Deku.
Look, im going to make a silly and cute izuocha scene prompt I just thought about and would be easy to add in any moment: Izuku is there, in a war, and a thing that makes him feel calmer is remembering the mochis he received, and how much he wishes to eat some more with her in particular and the rest of the class. Cute, simple, bittersweet, adorable. Another variation, asking Ochako if they'll eat mochis when the war ends (during their talk before the second war. "We'll stop them. After we do that, would you go and eat mochis with me?" or something similar), or instead of saying a boyfriend is someone you go to amusement parks n eat crepes with, say eat mochis. This super silly and simple concept would add much depth to them in an easy way:
It shows how important and precious her gift and presence is to him
It connects their feelings, as they both received from the other the gifts, making it almost "destiny" in a fun way to end up together.
Its cute
It doesn't need to much time nor too much thought behind it, even if you dont know how to write romance is easy to see how this could connect them both.
It sets up a future date we dont even need to see -another positive point when you dont really know how to show romantic love with these characters, when it's implied we just assume they'll go in that date.
The readers could assume the depth of Izuku's feelings matches Ochako's.
The most possible izuocha canon route I have seen is the importance of the meaning she gave to the nickname, but I dont really see this as enough -in the manga, that line is also related to a darker theme from Katsuki's point of view, and its how "because he has to do his best", that means isolating himself and fighting alone. And now that I think about it, even with the class and more ppl cheering for him, he is still "fighting alone". In that final page, he is the one who gets to AFO and punches him, and everyone else is helping with a supporting role to make things easier -which is great and needed! But in the end, he is the only one that can do it apparently, and he easily feels comfort in that to prove to everyone how worthy he is of that power/gift/curse.
Katsuki having OFA for a little in the past, seeing a vestige, and starting the you can do it/good luck chain in a different page chapters ago... Well. Im just thinking.
i have an issue I see with ppl trying to make shippers "understand" their ship could not become canon, and I dont think many would expect it.
Why are we pretending being in your late 30s is being middle age? Dont get me wrong, being a middle aged person doesn't have to mean anything about someone, but its just- not middle age literally.
I dont really understand bringing that up anyways, iit feels wrong to me to believe just ppl in their teens and 20s could ever do anything pro LGBT+ in general... I find it insulting, as if this is a new thing or impossible to believe older people could believe in queerness in a positive light or be queer themselves. The main reason in the west, and im assuming other parts of the world, there arent as many or as visible is, well, because people were dying because of the AIDS crisis + the isolation from being older and every single public space made for or just young queers or cishet older adults.
I get the point, but if I remember correctly every time I see someone trying to do that (of course im believing they have the best intentions in mind), they have to bring up how this is a Japanese middle aged man as a good enough reason.
I don't really mind about what others want to believe or how much they care in terms of shipping -if you prefer to be casual and not paying that much attention to what's canon or not, good for you! Many ppl are also like that and its completely valid, here in this side of Tumblr might seem like all of us believe and theorize about their endgame potential bc we are the ones that usually make more posts or longer content. But I dont like those assumptions about queerness being tied to young westerners, and I wanted to rant a little bit.
Again, I dont believe that was the intention in any of those posts, and im not trying to call out anyone, just rant.

-sigh-
A lot of you did not understand my last post, so let me explain
I KNOW THAT SAYING A SHIP IS CANON IS MEMEING
Hell, I do the very same thing MYSELF. I know they’re just enjoying ships, but some people GENUINELY think the ship is canon. As usual, the MHA fandom took this too literally, and too generally, so let me walk you through this-
Horikoshi: Makes Deku play a big role in helping Todoroki from his trauma, and gives fanservice
The Fandom: OMG TODODEKU CANON
I know when people say TodoDeku is canon, if any, they’re joking. I originally wasn’t going to put TodoDeku, since it wouldn’t make much sense to put it. But I decided to anyways, but just as a lead. That’s all it was, a lead, into this-
Horikoshi: Has Uraraka get a crush on Deku
The Fandom: NO! IZUOCHA CANON NOW, NOT TODODEKU
Honestly this doesn’t have much importance either, I was just adding the TodoDeku vs IzuOcha stuff for relevance, and the fact I wanted to include as many mainstream ships as possible, without targeting one group.
Horikoshi: Writes an intimate and relationship between Momo and Jirou
The fandom: THEY’RE LESBIANS! 🥰
A lot of people GENUINELY think this. Jirou has been shown to blush or get shy around girls, and her Momo are often featured next to each other in Horikoshis sketch’s, BLUSHING. No, no- I’m not saying they’re canon, I’m just saying canon things. Take it as you will.
But…
Horikoshi: Makes Jirou the most important person to Kaminari
The fandom: IF THATS NOT ON THE ROAD TO CANON IDK WHAT IS! 😍
Okay so, now that Jirou is important to Kaminari, all of a sudden the MomoJirou stuff is irrelevant? KamiJirou is considered one of the most canon BNHA ships in the MHA fandom, because of this. But how come people considered MomoJirou a possibility, but they don’t now? And yes, I know, not everyone thinks that. Some people think KamiJirou is canon and others think MomoJirou is, I don’t really think anyone changed their minds on this one.
Idk if you’ve caught on, but I was mainly targeting a certain group, I just added other ships for fillers and meme- purposes. I also didn’t want to seem biased or like I was attacking, but I suppose I’ll have to since y’all did an r/whooosh
Horikoshi: Says he likes TodoMom-
The fandom: cOnFiRmEd
Again…we’re just going to brush off the MomoJirou progress? Or the fact Todoroki and Momo don’t have a lot of screentime. Yes, Horikoshi likes Todomomo. That does give it a high chance and I DO Love this ship! But a creator liking a ship doesn’t make it canon! Trust me, other fandoms, other experiences…
People genuinely think TodoMomo is canon too. Not like a funny “Haha Todoroki is looking at her in this background panel” No, I mean FULL ON, SERIOUS, ESSAY-LENGTH EXPLANATIONS and GENUINE beliefs
Horikoshi: Writes an arc about KiriBaku and their importance to each other, giving subtle hints and a shit ton of “coincidental” evidence
The fandom: GUYS LOOOOOK! MORE KRBK PROOF! KIRIBAKU CANON! 😍
Welp, here it is. The first of the three I was targeting, and my own fandom. I am, in fact, one of those delusional people, who thinks it’s actually canon. But I am well aware the LGBT does not have the upper hand in a Shounen genre, but I like to hope. Hope that maybe, just maybe, we can find peace here. I wasn’t really talking about the fact of Krbks calling KRBK canon, cause that would have been hypocritical of me. I meant the fact that at a certain point, Kirishima and Bakugo’s relationship was focused on so much in 2018, it basically became this trend. Where EVERYONE thought this ship had a chance. Because they seemed to ALWAYS BE NEXT TO EACH OTHER
You’re probably thinking,”What’s the point of this then?”
Well, here’s the point-
Horikoshi: Drops them to focus on Bakugo and Deku’s redemption and relationship building
Fandom: Oop- GUESS BKDK IS CANON NOW 😄🤭 So sad, I wanted KiriBaku/ IzuOcha oh well 😔
Okay here’s the thing, with the KRBK vs BKDK, I meant it more of a platonic or general sense. People seem to think that just because Kirishima and Bakugo haven’t interacted in a hundred chapters they’re suddenly irrelevant to each other?! As if they aren’t at least friends anymore?!?! I’ve seen people say “Kirishima was used for Bakugo’s redemption so he could get along better with Deku, so now there’s no need for him anymore” Um…no? KiriBakus development is a WHOLE OTHER THING FROM BKDK DEVELOPMENT. And all of you fellow Krbks- Stop crying a river because they haven’t interacted for 100 chapters! Bakugo and Deku redeeming their friendship is important!! LET THE BKDKS HAVE THIS! It’s what they wanted. Just because Deku and Bakugo are becoming friends, doesn’t mean Kirishima and Bakugo aren’t. So, just stop. Please. You don’t become best friends with each other and then all of a sudden say “Hey dude, your important to me n’ all, but there’s this other guy who I used to be friends with, but I kinda bullied him, so…Kinda gotta fix my relationship with him. Anyways lmao bye sEe yA nEVEr-“ I’m preeetttyyy sure that’s not how it works.
A lot of you might say, “No one says that” Oh, Ho, Really?
Tumblr media
Now, finally, the last serious one…
Horikoshi: Gives Kirishima and Mina a chapter
The fandom: KiRiMinA cOnfiRmEd
This one I am being DEADASS serious. Horikoshi decided to finally introduce the arc where Kirishima gets over what happened in middle school, and Minas importance or lack thereof, whatever, to him. He saved her, and Mina did a new move “Acid Man” inspired by “UNBREAKABLE”. And apparently, this was leading to the road of being endgame. HELL- Even some Krbks were pouting like, “Yeah, but with the way the manga is going KiriMina is going to be endgame” OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS. Again! Just fuck the Krbk development right?! Just fuck it all! Because apparently, they can’t have other relationships of them focused on, without you thinking THATS going to be canon instead. Before you call me biased and delusional, MORE PROOF 👇
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last “IiDaDeKu” one was clearly just a meme, a funny, trending note to end on.
Please oh please understand the purpose of this!! It’s too make those of you doing this award of how guillable you’re being- and that NO SHIPS ARE CANON UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY ARE, FOR NOW ITS JUST POTENTIAL
And as a joke!! So we can LAUGH together about how much of a MESS this fandom is!
I mean- Fuck- I just had to explain a joke to you!!!
Also I’m sorry about my attitude but the replies made me pissed- Y’all made me sound like an Anti or a dude bro
WHO I HATE WITH EVERY SINGLE FIBER IN MY BEING
So don’t compare me to them again!!
I have a feeling- A STRONG feeling, some of y’all will think I’m just being rude and stupid, and I have no right to be mad, and STILL won’t get the purpose or joke of my last post, but if you do…
Tumblr media
THANK YOU
Tumblr media
BONUS:
Yes I do understand enjoying ships actually. Shipping is my whole life, I more than understand the difference between shipping for fun and shipping for a purpose. I get that some people ship as a comfort and others a hobby. I know it’s both platonic and romantic. I understand it’s not only to pair people together but to explore different possibilities. I know the difference between wanting your ship to be canon and genuinely thinking it is. I know shipping is for enjoyment, and it’s not about which becomes canon. I KNOW people are joking when they say it’s canon, but in the case with some of these they aren’t. And yeah, I know it’s a minority, but it’s an annoying, LOUD minority. No shit Sherlock people say certain ships are canon as a joke when they get crumbs
NO FUCKING DUH

Something Like Home Ch. 2
Hey so I really liked this story so I decided to make a second chapter. Basically it’s more bkdk fluff (here’s part one)
AO3
Katsuki suddenly has a lot to think about. Last night, totally unprompted and totally not unwelcomed, Deku decided on his own free will to crawl into Katsuki’s bed and demand Katsuki to hold him. Honestly? Who is Katsuki to refuse such an offer?
However, this is Deku we’re talking about. The same fucking Deku that would snivel and cry yet not give up in a fight no matter how beaten down he was. The same fucking Deku Katsuki watched time and time again almost die because he has no value on his life (which, side not, that is something they are definitely going to have to talk to him about). The same fucking Deku that’s been on the edge of his mind for his whole life. Sure, some of those thoughts lingered around Deku’s mouth. And yes, maybe some of those thoughts led elsewhere, but that’s beside the point!
Katsuki grabs his pillow and screams into it. How, oh how, did Katsuki Bakugou ever get in a situation like this?
See, this wouldn’t normally be an issue if it weren’t for the fact that Katsuki’s heart was most definitely slamming against his chest almost all last night. He’s only ever associated that feeling with a fight, and Katsuki knows for a fact that they weren’t fighting.
Katsuki’s not dumb. He’s not entirely immune to emotions and feelings. Hell, he’s had his fair share of crushes in his life, but those were way before middle school. (Okay, that’s a lie. He may or may not have had a crush on a few of the boys in his class, but those were quickly pummeled away before they could go any farther. Don’t tell Kirishima.)
What he’s feeling for Deku is definitely not a crush. It’s more of a… childhood friends turned enemies turned rivals turned hey, let’s occasionally sleep together because neither of us knows how to sleep alone anymore, yeah? That’s it. That is exactly what they are.
“I,” Katsuki whispers to his ceiling, “do not like Deku. I hate him.”
He did not, but it’s easier to say that than anything else. This mantra repeats in his head until he’s almost certain that he believes it. It seems to work, especially when they’re in the locker room almost a week later and somebody brings up relationships.
“Yeah, we’re going to go get lunch Sunday. Got the release forms and everything,” Sero says to the Kaminari. He grabs his uniform jacket. “I’m really excited.”
Kaminari slaps Sero on the back. “Hell yeah, man! Hey, does she have any single friends?”
“Dunno, but I can ask.”
“Sero, my pal, my dude, you are the bestest friend ever.”
“Pretty sure that’s not a word, Kaminari.”
Katsuki frowns into his locker. He should have expected this. They’re high school students, so dating is not totally out of the question. He can’t help but feel slightly behind in that regard.
But then he reminds himself that if he’s going to be the Number One Hero™, then he has no time for trivial things like relationships and dating and (dare he say it) kissing.
“So, Midoriya,” the grape fucker’s voice rings out. Katsuki tries not to look at them. “You’re popular with the ladies. I caught you behind the school the other day with some pretty girl confessing! Tell me, tell me! She’s got big boobies, right? You said yes, right?”
Kirishima walks over, crossing his arms. His mouth curls in disgust. “Dude, too far.” Then he looks up to Deku. “But yeah, Midoriya. We all heard about it and kinda want to know how it went.”
Next to him, Deku’s face goes bright red. Katsuki denies the fluttering in his stomach, choosing to ignore whether it’s because of delight or jealousy. He pulls out his tie, pretending not to listen.
“Oh, well, um…” Deku’s voice trails off, and out of the corner of his eye, Katsuki can see how red his face is. Cute. Turning back to his locker, Deku hides his face. “I turned her down,” he whispers.
This time, the butterflies Katsuki elects to ignore are definitely from delight.
Deku comes again, later that week. Katsuki’s full attention is on his small TV screen, the controller in his hand warm from lengthy use, and he’s just about to beat the boss when there’s a knock at the door. Quickly, he pauses it, the threat dying in his throat when the door opens and Deku slips inside.
“The fuck? Deku, it’s late.” Katsuki says, rocking his chair back. It takes a second to register his red-rimmed eyes and shiny lips. By then, Deku has already made his way to Katsuki.
He fully expects him to climb into Katsuki’s bed, as per their unsaid rules of whatever the hell it is they have going on, but Katsuki only stares in amazement as Dekuk crawls into his lap and buries his face into Katsuki’s shoulder. “H-hey!” he splutters. Real smooth.
“I’m sorry,” Deku whispers. His arms loop Katsuki’s middle. “Just go back to your game. I’ll move if I’m in the way.”
Suddenly, he is infinitely grateful that Deku isn’t looking at him because his face is certainly a bright shade of red. He doesn’t say anything to Deku before unpausing the game and finishing the fight. It’s hard to play like this, but Deku’s warmth and sobs keep him from moving, so he stays. If this is what the nerd needs, then the nerd gets.
A cut scene comes along, and Katsuki takes this opportunity to hug the nerd back. He won’t let himself go any farther; no kisses or sweet nothings to be had. Sure, he might have slipped up a few nights ago (okay, twice, but who’s counting?), but Deku was asleep then! He wouldn’t have noticed! Not like now when he is very, very much awake and very, very much moving.
It’s not a lot of movement, but every time the nerd shifts his hips to get comfortable, Katsuki notices. Oh boy, does he notice. It’s a totally normal reaction for a teenage boy to have on his crush rival! Especially when said rival is sitting on his lap and practically grinding on him.
Deku’s fingers grasp the bottom of Katsuki’s shirt, and he nearly explodes. Okay, Katsuki, think of puppies, kittens, Kirishima’s god awful--shit no, don’t think about Kirishima! Girls, think of girls! Mom and Dad! Oh, shit, I got to call them, don’t I?
“Kacchan,” Deku whispers, his small voice bringing Katsuki out of his attempt to calm down. “Thank you.”
“For what, nerd?”
On the screen, Katsuki’s avatar finds a treasure chest full of useless items. He’ll have to sell those later to buy something good.
Deku doesn’t answer, so Katsuki focuses his attention back on the game. He feels Deku’s lips on his neck. It’s soft, barely there, and probably not intentional, but it makes his brain go haywire nonetheless. He fumbles while trying to take down the miniboss and loses half a life.
Eventually, Katsuki has enough and saves the game. Deku shifts again. “Oh. Are you done?”
He grunts in response. The controller hangs loose in his hands as he wraps his arms around Deku, hearing him squeak. It takes a couple of seconds for the nerd to relax again, but when he does, he starts crying again.
“I had a nightmare again,” Deku whispers. Saying nothing, Katsuki rubs his back. His mom used to do that when he was a kid, and it never failed to make him feel better. Occasionally, whenever Deku would sleep over and he’d have a nightmare, she would rub his back, too.
Katsuki buries his nose into Deku’s curls. They’re still wet and frizzy from his bath. (That’s another thing they’re going to have to talk about.) “Wanna…” he pauses, unsure of himself. “Wanna talk about it?”
They don’t talk about the nightmares. It’s another unspoken rule between the two; you have a nightmare and you go back to sleep. That’s just how they did it.
But this time is different. The last time was different, too. Deku came in here, on his accord, asked Katsuki to hold him, and dealt with the nightmares in a different way. So, yeah, maybe their unspoken rules can be bent and broken once in a while.
Deku sniffles and pulls away, green eyes glassy. The light from the TV and desk lamp makes it hard to see anything but shadows on his face, but Katsuki has known Deku long enough to know exactly how he looks crying. “It’s stupid,” Deku mutters.
“Yeah, and so is Dunce Face, but we still put up with him.”
“You don’t.”
“That’s not the point. What’s the nightmare?”
He cracks a smile before wiping his eyes. “I’m going to tell Kaminari you said that.” Seeing Katsuki’s determined stare, Deku sighs. “Sometimes, I dream of you dying. Or it’s me. Or it’s everyone else. I just… I feel so helpless and I can’t do anything about it and-and--” His words are cut off as he gasps for air. “They just won’t stop.”
Katsuki does something he might regret; he takes Deku’s face in his hands. It’s wet underneath his palms, but he doesn’t pay attention to that. He does, however, pay attention to how soft his cheeks are or how bright his eyes shine. Katsuki suddenly feels the urgent need to kiss him.
“Do you…?” he starts to ask but trails off. This has never been a spoken thing between them. If he says it out loud, he might break the fragile thing they have set up. They’re swimming through uncharted territory, fumbling along as they try to make sense of what is up and what is down.
Thankfully, Deku seems to know what he’s trying to say. A scarred hand lays across one of Katsuki’s as Deku smiles at him. “Can I?” he asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
It doesn’t occur to Katsuki until now that he could be asking a double-loaded question. What he means to ask is if Deku wants to sleep here, yet he also recognizes that he very well could be asking to do more. He tries not to look down at Deku’s lips, tries to keep his gaze locked onto Deku’s, but he ultimately fails. Hopefully, Deku doesn’t notice.
He does notice, and Katsuki notices him noticing, and it’s enough to make his heart do somersaults.
There’s a new question hanging between them. This one is exhilarating and terrifying and makes Katsuki rethink his entire position about relationships and dating and (he dare says) kissing. His fingers find their way to the curls at the nape of his neck. They’re not as soft as Katsuki thought they would be, but they still feel nice.
Katsuki nods, answering both questions at once.
At first, his lips are barely there, but when Katsuki doesn’t pull away, he presses further. He rather likes his lips. He also likes how Deku is obviously just as inexperienced as he is, and he especially likes how Deku breaks up the kiss because he’s smiling.
“I, um, yeah.” Deku rests his forehead on his. “Was that okay?”
Katsuki opens his eyes, and he sees that he’s already looking back at him. His cheeks are still wet from his tears, which he finds disgusting. Unfortunately, his tissues are too far away.
“It was fine or whatever.”
Deku knows he’s lying; his shit-eating grin tells him so. He pokes at Katsuki’s ribs, causing him to yelp. “It was fine, Kacchan?” Deku laughs. “Only fine?”
“Ah! S-stop! Deku!”
“Admit it! It was good!”
Katsuki locks eyes with him, his own fingers coming up to Deku’s sides. When Deku squeaks, he smirks. “I will say no such thing.”
“Kacchan! Sto-o-op!”
There’s banging on the wall before Kirishima yells, “Shut up!”
They try to wiggle away from each other, but with Deku’s legs locked around Katsuki’s waist and Katsuki balancing in his chair, they only manage to crash on the floor. Groaning, he rubs his arm. “Fuck you,” he mutters.
“You okay?” Deku’s green eyes are alight with mirth as he stares at Katsuki. It makes his heart flutter with unease and excitement. He nods.
In this moment, he realizes that his stupid face is actually rather beautiful. The soft glow of the desk lamp highlights his freckles and scars, his cheeks flushed from laughter, and Katsuki thinks he might be falling a little bit. They’re staring at each other, both not wanting to break this tension. It’s electrifying and exhilarating and makes Katsuki absolutely terrified of what he’s feeling. Deku’s legs are entangled with his, but that doesn’t stop him from reaching over and interlacing their fingers together.
“I liked it,” he whispers, almost afraid to break this little bubble of theirs, and they don’t break eye contact as he whispers, “and I think I’m starting to like you.”
Deku smiles at him. “I think I’m starting to like you, too.”
It takes them several moments for them to even think about getting into bed, and when they do, Katsuki doesn’t hesitate to pull him close. His fingers trace random fingers on top of his shirt, and he smiles. Maybe crushes aren’t so bad after all.

His Best Shot (Of Espresso)
Read it on AO3 Here
Summary: Taking the morning shift was the best decision Katsuki ever made, he could survive the early hours and bitchy customers if it meant Izuku went to him for his morning coffee. Now all he has to do is keep him coming back.
The obligatory coffee shop AU combined with the also obligatory college/university AU! A gift for the lovely QueenBoudicatheGreat ( @lesbian-deku) for the BKDK New Year’s Exchange!
Notes: I had so much fun writing this! It was my first venture into the coffee shop trope so I hope I did it justice! A big thanks to @ElleBakugou on Twitter for being my beta, along with @we_stanjirou (SapphicFlower on AO3!)
(Queen, I hope you don't mind that I waited so long to post! It's still technically the first for me and I was trying to make it perfect!)
It was a weird circumstance. Usually, the customer felt more out of place when getting coffee. But whoever this person was they definitely knew the place.
The man with the green hair walked in with a bright smile, much too happy for someone walking into a college coffee shop at seven am. He quickly waved at the two people making coffee as he made his way to the counter.
“Good morning!”
Katsuki had to force down an eye roll, he hadn’t even looked up yet and this customer was already way too excited.
“Yeah, what can I get started for you?”
As he finally looked up he momentarily paused. Wow whoever the fuck this was, they were cute.
“Hmm, what do you recommend?”
Usually, Katsuki hated that question, but coming from this stranger he couldn’t help what came out of his mouth next.
“This morning shitty hair back there made some almond peppermint iced coffee, I bet I can get him to make another.” He surprised himself, why was he telling a random customer that his idiot best friend makes random shit up and forces him to drink it?
The man, clearly amused, had tilted his head to the side for a moment before speaking up.
“Kirishima? He does seem like someone who would come up with that!”
“Yeah he’s always coming up with some gross ass shit and forces me and dunce face to drink it, today he got lucky.”
“You sure have some funny nicknames for Kirishima and Kaminari. Either way! If you think it won’t be a hassle to make it again, I’d love to try the almond peppermint iced coffee!”
“Pft, they’ve made much more complicated things for way more shitty people, don’t sweat it, nerd.”
The man laughed lightly.
“What makes you think I’m a nerd?”
“You just have that nerd vibe, plus who else willingly takes morning classes in the summer, other than nerds.”
The now deemed ‘nerd’ looked confused for a moment before he realized he had his school books sticking out of his bag.
“I guess that’s fair! At least the summer classes are almost over!”
“Yeah, and I bet you have morning classes in the fall too.” Katsuki countered, with an eyebrow raise.
The man blushed lightly, letting Katsuki know that he was in fact right.
“It’s only one class in the morning! It's 8 am on Friday! Really not that bad!”
Katsuki was going to counter but he realized he had a similar class, so he decided to keep his mouth shut.
“Either way you’re still a nerd but I can’t put that on a cup, so I need a name.”
“Oh! Izuku, Izuku Midoriya.”
“I’ll make sure shitty hair works fast, should be ready soon.”
“Wait! How much is it?”
“Don’t worry about it.” Katsuki shot the man, Izuku now, a wink and quickly turned, immediately regretting it. He never did that, he never winked or gave out drinks for free. Damn it this nerd was going to be the end of him.
Izuku was left blushing at the counter suddenly very grateful for the hell he went through this summer for his morning class.
“Oi! Shitty hair! Make another one of those iced coffees you made this morning for the nerd!”
Kirishima furrowed his brow for a moment before responding.
“Oh! Midoriya! You’re gonna love this!”
Katsuki was determined to redeem himself, he couldn’t leave it at a wink, he was better than that!
“Even your name is nerdy. The first half of it can be read as Deku!”
Izuku blushed at the nickname, why couldn’t the hot guy be an asshole! That would make it so much easier not to like him.
“Well if I’m Deku then you’re- Kacchan!” He looked triumphant, only making him even more adorable.
“What the fuck is a Kacchan?”
“You! You are Kacchan!”
“And you are a fucking nerd, Deku.”
“Don’t think I didn’t spot the All Might pin next to your name tag! You’re secretly a nerd too, Kacchan!”
Katsuki blushed at the call out, what can he say? All Might was the single greatest superhero to ever be written!
“Hey, Midoriya! Here’s that coffee! You gotta tell us if you like it, Kirishima swears it’s his best one yet!”
“For sure Kaminari! I’ll see you guys tomorrow! Bye Kacchan!” Izuku left after raising an eyebrow at Katsuki, almost daring him to counter.
Once the bell on top of the door dinged, signaling that Izuku had left, both Kaminari and Kirishima moved in like sharks on prey.
“So what was that all about, Kacchan?” Kaminari always seemed ready to provoke the beast.
“Don’t fucking call me that dunce face. I have no clue what you’re talking about.”
“Really? So you just give everyone free drinks and cutesy nicknames? I noticed a distinct lack of insult to Deku, no shitty, no dunce.” Kirishima was right there with him.
“Well maybe if you two shit heads would mind your own business you wouldn't have even heard Deku!”
Kirishima and Kaminari shared a look, even if he wouldn’t admit it Katsuki knew they were onto him.
“Wait, hold the fuck up. How do you guys know the cute nerd anyway? He knew your names and everything. I barely know your fucking names.” Katsuki was quick to change the subject.
“Oh he’s a cute nerd now, is he? That’s Midoriya, he comes in all the time. Almost every morning. He’s one of the only people who pay more than two seconds of attention to us so I guess Kami and I became friends with him.” Kaminari nodded along with Kirishima’s words.
“And why haven’t you mentioned him before? You both go around calling us best friends and yet you don’t tell me these things, that's why I call you my shit heads.”
“Uh, we have mentioned him. Midoriya was the one we were talking about like two weeks ago, he got a few extra tickets to Jirou’s show at that bar on main and gave them to us! He’s the one that introduced me to Shinsou, the drummer, at the concert? How do you not remember this?” Kaminari was sure Katsuki didn’t flat out ignore them every time they talked.
“That was him?! Why haven’t I met him? Ever since you two started getting lovey-dovey with Half and Half and the drummer you have been on my shit to get out there!”
“Hey! We aren’t lovey-dovey!”  “Todoroki and I are just friends!” The pair spoke at the same time, trying to deny Katsuki’s accurate description.
“Yeah, just friends how I want to be Just Friends with Deku! Don’t try and argue with that lovey-dovey shit, I saw the heart you drew on his cup Dunce Face.” Katsuki leveled them with a challenging glare, daring them to contradict him.
“Okay fine! Maybe I drew a heart on his cup, and maybe Kirishima is lying to himself about Todoroki just a little, but what does that have to do with Midoriya?”
“It has everything to do with him! You know what screw it, I’m keeping the morning shift when the fall semester starts. If he comes in here all the time I am going to see him.”
The three abruptly ended their conversation as a customer walked in, letting their customer service personality take over for the rest of the day.
Izuku had to rush to his class, he really spent too much time at Heights Alliance this morning. He couldn’t help it! The hot blonde was super nice to him! He even got away with calling him Kacchan!
Professor Yamada called him out on his daydreaming after class ended, luckily he wasn’t behind in Lit Interpretation class. Less lucky was the comment about young love that followed.
The next morning Katsuki insisted on being at the register, an uncommon occurrence for the brash blonde, he tended to keep himself in the back if he could help it.
Kirishima and Kaminari simply shared a look and resigned themselves to a shift of trying not to burn themselves on steamed milk.
They swore Katsuki was going to break his neck with all of the quick turning he did as soon as the bell rang as a customer walked in. His reprieve finally bounced in, still much too excited for someone entering a coffee shop so early.
Katsuki quickly refocused his gaze on his computer, attempting to appear nonchalant. He felt his restraint breaking as Izuku moved closer to the counter. Finally, he met Izuku’s eyes.
“Back so soon? Miss me that much?” Katsuki had talked himself up all morning, he had to try harder to make this nerd his.
Izuku gained an even blush at the comment, he had in fact missed Katsuki but he knew he didn’t have a shot.
“Ha ha very funny, I'm here almost every day, what makes you think it's not for Kirishima and Kaminari?”
Katsuki arched a sculpted brow, “Because they’ve already been set up with your friends.”
“Hmm, you got me there!” Katsuki already knew that, he made sure to interrogate anyone he could about Izuku.
“Alright then, what will it be today? Shitty Hair made some nasty ass shit this morning so I don’t even have a suggestion.”
“Well then just get me whatever you normally get! You can really tell a lot about a person from the coffee they drink!”
“Well then, tell me what you get from a vanilla iced coffee with a shot of espresso?”
“Hmm an espresso shot, that tells me you’re likely a natural leader, vanilla softens up the bitterness of coffee that says you’re laid back but realistic, and it being iced, well that gives me confident and serious but you know when and how to have fun.”
Katsuki was shocked for a moment, how could he have gotten all of that from his coffee order?!
“I wrote a research paper on how coffee is linked to your personality, from there my addiction only spiraled!” Izuku laughed lightly, pulling Katsuki’s thoughts from the scarily accurate breakdown of his coffee to the quite gorgeous man in front of him.
“So, what's your ‘normal’ coffee order then? What does that say about you?”
Izuku watched as Kirishima came up with his drink, preparing to grab the cup.
“Now that would be telling, wouldn’t it, Kacchan?” Izuku slipped fifteen dollars into the tip jar, trying to make up for the previous day’s free coffee. With a slight wink, Izuku made his way out of Heights Alliance.
As soon as he rounded the corner out of sight of the coffee shop he covered his face with his hands and let out a deep sigh. What was he thinking! He never winked at people! He was no suave in any way! He could only hope that Katsuki didn’t think he was a gross jerk!
Katsuki stood frozen, trying desperately to commit the entire interaction to memory before he could no longer recall the exact color of Izuku’s eye as it winked closed.
“I would just like to say that Midoriya has never winked at me like that which I think means you should totally go for it!”
Katsuki turned towards Kirishima and nodded, still in a slight daze. Kirishima and Kaminari laughed at their best friend’s face, they had never seen him act this way over anyone before.
The next week followed the same, Izuku would come in, Katsuki would take his order (which always changed) and they would attempt to flirt with each other. Katsuki decided that he was going to try something new on Friday.
Izuku came in, evidently a bit more tired than normal, it was finally the end of his summer classes but the exams were not going easy on him. He asked Katsuki to give him the most caffeine in a cup possible.
Katsuki went along with it knowing that it was a one-time thing, noting that he looked like he could fall asleep standing.
Katsuki quickly wrote ‘Deku’ on a cup and paused. He was determined to go through with his plan, without another thought he messily scrawled his phone number directly underneath it.
Katsuki quickly prepared the abomination of espresso shots, strong enough to resuscitate an elephant, and made his way to hand it off to Izuku.
“Alright Deku, here is a large…. Espresso shot? I don’t really know what the fuck to call this other than ‘barely a step up from straight-up heroin’ I’d say be careful but honestly you could probably use it.”
Izuku laughed heartily, Katsuki could admit that he wasn’t all that funny but if the sleep deprivation allowed him to hear that laugh he would let it slide for the day.
Izuku quickly reached out for his coffee, making Katsuki’s nerves heighten, it wouldn’t be long before he noticed the phone number.
Alas, the moment never came, Izuku’s depth perception was ever so slightly off, just enough to make sure his coffee cup slipped right through his fingers. As the paper cup smacked into the floor the top popped off, making a huge mess of very strong coffee.
Izuku was startled from his sleep-addled state, he made quick work of trying to clean up, requesting paper towels and a floor cleaner so he could repair the mess he made, the first step in his clean up was tossing the now empty coffee cup into the garbage.
Katsuki deflated as he saw the tail end of his phone number displayed in the trash can, Izuku didn’t even spare the cup a glance.
“Don’t worry about it nerd. I’ll get it cleaned up and I can get Hair for Brains to make you another one. I know there is no way you have time to clean this all up.”
“No! I can’t just leave you with a big mess! It was my fault I can clean it up!”
“Deku, it’s the last day of summer classes. Go take your final in peace, if you are really worried about it come back tomorrow and let me choose your drink for the day.”
Izuku softened, why, why, WHY, did Katsuki have to be so far out of his league? This was the perfect man!
“Kacchan you are quite literally the best! What time does your shift end?”
“Uhhh three? Why?”
“Perfect, and don’t worry about it! You will see!” Izuku grabbed the new version of his coffee (sans Katsuki’s phone number) and quickly made his way to his final class of the summer.
Katsuki waited anxiously for the end of his shift to come, what the hell had Izuku meant?! If Kirishima and Kaminari were less understanding people, they would have smacked him after he asked for the time seven times within the span of about four minutes.
Luckily for everyone, the pair could relate to Katsuki, the whole ‘a watched pot never boils’ phenomenon at it’s finest.
Around two P.M. there was a big rush of customers, ranging from those on their lunch breaks to those who hadn’t slept in roughly thirty-six hours. Thankfully the closing staff had been clocked in since one. Before they knew it three o’clock rolled around.
As if on command, Izuku walked through the door with a small bag in hand.
“Kacchan! Can I borrow you for a few?”
“Pft, I’m off the clock Deku, you can borrow me for the rest of the day.” Katsuki regretted it immediately after it left his mouth, why the fuck would he say that out loud?
“Even better! C’mon, I have something for you!”
Katsuki followed Izuku out of the coffee shop to a small bench situated under a few trees, trying his hardest to figure out what was about to happen.
“Alright, as a bit of a thank you for this morning I wanted to get you a little something, you are the reason I didn’t fail my history exam! I walked in about thirty seconds before my professor locked the door!”
“For cleaning up some spilled coffee? Deku, that’s what my paycheck is for.”
Izuku leveled him with an unimpressed look, evidently not agreeing with his statement.
“You didn’t have to replace my coffee and clean up after me. I know that isn’t in your job description. Don’t argue with me! Just open the damn gift! Please?”
Katsuki knew it was really no use, he would do anything if it was prompted by those big green eyes pleading with him.
“Alright, fine hand it over.” Izuku became visibly excited as he placed the bag on Katsuki’s lap.
Katsuki quickly made his way to the bottom of the bag and pulled out a small figurine.
“You’re fucking with me, right? There is no way this is the rare bronze age All Might figurine that came out two summers ago in a limited run of 750?”
Izuku was all but bouncing as Katsuki finished his sentence.
“Yes, it is! That summer I bought one for myself immediately and as it turned out my mom bought me the same one to give to me for my birthday! I do not know a single other person that would have recognized it as his bronze age costume, let alone give the details of the release. I have two of them anyway, you seem like the perfect person to give it too! Plus what you did for me today was really nice.”
“I can’t take this from you! All I did was clean up some shitty coffee!”
“And get me a new one, and be nice to me all the time, and generally be a good person. So take the fucking gift before I have to get creative and find a way to make you take it.”
“Fine! I’ll take it! On one condition.”
“Oh, and what might that be?”
“You have to agree to go on a date with me.” Katsuki barely stopped himself from slapping a hand over his mouth. This was not the way he was supposed to ask Izuku out! There’s no way he’s going to say yes to this shitty-
“Okay! Tell me a time and place!”
“Wait really?!”
“Did you not just hear me go on and on about you? Why wouldn’t I say yes?” Izuku spoke as if he was explaining why basic addition made sense.
“You haven’t shown any interest in me! Why would I assume you would say yes?”
“Okay, have you not realized that I have been trying my hardest to flirt with you? I know I’m terrible at it but not this bad!”
Katsuki came to a sudden realization, “You know what. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you said yes! Alright, time and place…”
“Oh good! We’re finally on the same page! I’m fine with going anywhere just as long as we don’t go to Antonio’s, I spend enough of my life there during the dinner rush.”
“Got it no Antonio’s and no coffee, how about dinner at the sushi place up the road? I can pick you up tomorrow night at seven?”
“I’ll call and make a reservation for seven-thirty!”
Katsuki couldn’t help the genuine smile that graced his features, he was happy.
“You know, I tried putting my number on your coffee cup this morning. You just had to go and spill it though.”
“Really?! I’m sorry Kacchan! I would’ve called you if I knew about it!”
“Don’t sweat it, nerd, it all worked out in the end.”
The next night the pair went on their first date, although no one would’ve guessed it was only their first. Neither of them felt an ounce of awkward tension, enjoying the easy flow of conversation as the night progressed.
They learned that they grew up a mere three blocks away from each other, laughing at how they managed to meet long after just missing each other as kids.
They talked about their classes, finding out that they were set to be in a history class together every Friday at 8 A.M. (Izuku didn’t let the chance to call Katsuki a nerd pass.) They had been shocked, they both picked that professor because his ratings were only dampened by those who had no work ethic, knowing they would benefit from the strict regime that any class with Professor Aizawa promised.
The pair ended their night by walking the long way back to campus, hand in hand. Izuku departed with a quick but meaningful kiss, a promise of their future.
They would eventually credit Professors Yamada and Aizawa (or, more accurately Aizawa-Yamada as they came to find out) with their get-together and the strength of their relationship. If it wasn’t for the no sleep Izuku was running on for his class, they may have never gotten together. If their history class had them separated they would no doubt have slowly become too consumed with school and work to have time for one another.
They made sure the older pair knew this at their wedding roughly eight years later.

God I love ur writing style so I trust ur taste: any fic recs? (doesn’t have to be BKDK, but u know
OOOOOOOOOOOOO OKAY! HERE WE GO!
Before I start, I want you to know that I tried to tag all the big bad warnings, but PLEASE CHECK TAGS on the fic itself before reading in case I’ve missed anything! Now, my favorite bkdk fics vary a lot. There are, of course, the ones a lot of people know:
Before Midnight by @driftingglass~[Explicit] (28/28) (211K words)
Warnings: -Graphic Depiction of Violence, Underage-
https://archiveofourown.org/works/11353440/chapters/25410591
Izuku Midoriya takes the same train to and from school Monday through Friday, morning and night. His only company during these lonesome hours comes in the form of another boy his age—a teen with scarred hands and blood gem eyes, a stranger with ash-blond hair who walks in a shroud of danger and mystery. "Would you stop with that fucking muttering, idiot?"And before Izuku can find his footing, his life becomes a full-blown collision course thanks to walking cannonball Katsuki Bakugou. (And along the way he may have found the missing fuel to his fire).
Bluebird by EtherealBing ~ [Explicit] (7/7) (53K words)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/11353440/chapters/25410591
Dialing a wrong number was no unusual occurrence. Everyone did it once in a while, and Katsuki was well aware of that fact. However, possessing this knowledge made it no less aggravating for him to discover — a full two minutes into his rant about his day — that he’d been venting his frustrations to a complete stranger. As if that wasn't enough, said stranger was also inexplicably determined to hear his story to its end.
Don’t Set Your Drink Down by @crandberrycrush ~ [Explicit] (21/21) (88K words)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/13868400/chapters/31903419
With sudden clarity Izuku realized he had broken the first rule of going out. Never leave your drink unattended.
And then there are the lesser known, but insanely good ones I LOVE:
Twenty-Four by SharkbaitSekki ~ [Teen] (1/1) (15K words)
Warnings: -Graphic Depictions of Violence-
https://archiveofourown.org/works/13167162
Izuku gets himself kidnapped, and Katsuki is dragged into it with him as they face villains with particularly terrifying illusion Quirks. It ends up being a living nightmare, but Katsuki can't bring himself to regret following Izuku into it all. Because between the pain and the terror, between the lies and the illusions, between life and death, at least they can always hang onto one another. Even if everything else is fake, they know that they will always be real.
Two Guys and Lots of Fries by hottamale ~ [Explicit] (1/1) (3K words)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/17421971
“Ten Guys! I wanna go to Ten Guys; they have the best french fries,” he smiled while looking at Katsuki expectantly.Katsuki frowned. “We just passed it though.”“So turn around.”“And waste my gas? Shits expensive Deku.”Izuku breathed in, held his breath for a moment, and let it back out. He put a hand on Katsuki’s bicep and blinked up at him, bottom lip jutting out into a pout. “Please? I’ll make it up to you.”
And the classics like:
Indestructible (Emotionally Speaking, That Is) by iknewaman ~ [Explicit] (1/1) (8.8K words)

This fic was created for the MIDORIYA IZUKU: TROUBLE AT ANY AGE (BKDK Birthday Exchange 2020) as a gift to @kacchansass 7/15/20
As Katsuki stands, leaning against the doorframe, he simply watches his boyfriend staring forward mindlessly while drinking his morning coffee.  He frowns, their adult years hadn’t been kind to Izuku, and it broke him to see how far the man had fallen.  Sure, they were both at the top ranks as far as hero work was concerned, but that’s where it ended.  For 20 years their only acknowledgments had been in passing on the job, and when he thought about those moments, it brought a sinking feeling in his soul.
He blamed himself for Izuku’s fall.  Gone was the eternal optimist with a smile that could blind any in its wake.  The happy, bubbly man he’d grown up with, who’d weathered so much… had simply hit his breaking point.
But he didn’t know!
Sure, they’d had a rather nasty fight after graduation, but he genuinely thought Izuku happily moved on, getting married to gravity girl, and moving up the ranks like they’d dreamed of.  If anything, he thought he was the one who’d failed miserably.  Relationships never worked out in his favor, and eventually they were just sexual partners that satiated his libido…. But never his heart.
No.  No one could fill that void except the one person he was too afraid to admit held his heart in their hands.  Gah!  He’d been such an idiot in his youth!  Katsuki didn’t believe in such things as soulmates, but there was no question about it that Izuku was his, and always had been.  The one person who knew him, saw through him at every step of their lives… and he threw it all away with that fight.  Hell, he couldn’t even remember what it was about, such a stupid thing.  But it had broken the proverbial camel’s back.
He squeezes his eyes shut for a second as Izuku’s words haunt him.  ‘I’m done Katsuki!’  The use of his surname instead of his nickname was like a dagger driven straight through his chest.  The 20-year-old knew immediately he’d screwed up big time, but his pride wouldn’t let him admit it, rather screaming good riddance, that he’d never wanted to be friends in the first place….
Till about 5 years ago when he’d learned of Izuku’s failed marriage.  That’s when he’d decided to make the plunge and reach out to his old friend.  Time and age had mellowed him or maybe beat him into toning down his anger issues.  His friend needed him, and for the first time, Katsuki gathered the strength to do something about it.  He’d braced himself to be turned away, who could blame the man if he did, but instead, Izuku let him back into his life.
“Good morning babe,” Katsuki kisses Izuku on the top of his head.  “You’re up early for a day off.”
“Good morning Kacchan.”  He smiles with tired eyes, “it’s just a habit now.  Strange the agency told me to take a day off today.”
The blonde chuckles, “I still remember when you hated mornings.”
Izuku’s eyes widen slightly, “you remember that?”
Katsuki sets his own cup of coffee down and sits across from his boyfriend.  He takes the man’s hand in his own, rubbing his thumb against the webbing, “I remember a lot of things.”
That brings a slight flush to Izuku’s cheeks.  “What about you, you’re off today too?”
“Yeah,” Katsuki nods.  “I have a confession to make, I was the one who told the agency to give us the day off.”
His head tilts in confusion. “But why?”
“Get dressed casual, and you’ll see.”
For the first leg of the journey they travel by commuter train.  At first Izuku has no idea where they are going, but eventually the scenery grows familiar.  He questions Katsuki who merely smiles and says it’s a surprise.  Oh, that only makes the man more anxious.  What had gotten into his boyfriend today for all this rouse to be necessary?  The whole getting them out of work and now travelling to an unknown destination was out of character.  What was the blonde up to?
They exit the station and it’s evident that they’ve returned to their childhood neighborhood. “Are we visiting our parents?”
Katsuki shakes his head and points towards the nearby river where they would often play in their elementary days.  The area had changed some in the last 37 years, the brush looked a bit denser, and the trees taller than he remembered them.  Izuku looks up at his boyfriend confused, knowing it was a place that held a not so fond memory for the man.
But without another word, the blonde kisses their conjoined hands and starts to pull them in that direction.  He searches for the now hidden path, and after a few moments finds it.  They walk along the dirt, pushing aside brush that falls in their way until they reach the riverbed below.  Did the area shrink?  Izuku muses.  Guess it looks different when you’re a child.
“Do you remember this place?” Katsuki questions quietly.
“Yeah,” Izuku frowns, “but why are we here.” He’d spent the better part of his adult life trying unsuccessfully to stop thinking about the old days.
“That day in the river when I’d fallen…” the blonde looks up and away as if reliving the point in time.  “The day I got so angry at you for making me feel weak.  It was after that moment that I'd started to really treat you like shit and pushed you away.”
Izuku looks down.  Of course, he remembered everything.  All he’d wanted to do was help his friend. Because that’s what friends do and he thought that’s what they were... friends, at least before the quirk came in.  But even after Katsuki slapped his hand away, he still continued to try.  It wasn’t just because he believed in being a hero, but because Katsuki meant something to him.  He frowns, “Why do you bring this up again?”
“Because,” Katsuki pulls the man into a hug, cradling his face against his chest.  “No matter that I’ve apologized or that you’ve forgiven me…. I haven’t forgiven myself yet because I know this still hurts you,” he lifts Izuku’s chin to look into his eyes, “and it kills me that I could have prevented all the pain later on.”
“Kacchan, not this again,” he sighs.  How many times did they have to have this discussion?  All he wanted to do was think about the present and future.  Katsuki had made great strides in making up for the past and he just wanted the man to realize he’d forgiven him for it all.  They didn’t need to keep stirring it back up again.  “You’re not at fault for what happened after our fight.”
“Yes, I am.” He disregards Izuku’s words because despite being told differently, it didn’t feel like it was no longer an issue.  Katsuki sensed that Izuku was just trying to bury it away which wasn’t the right answer.  “I accept it, and all I can do is continue to make up for it.”  He places a kiss on Izuku's lips.  “Come on, there’s still a few more stops to make and the next one isn’t far.”
They walk to the next location which is near their old middle school campus.  Izuku’s confusion continues, it was just another street, one they would often use to get home after school.  Seeing the look on his boyfriends face, Katsuki chuckles and squeezes their conjoined hands, “this one stumps you?  I’m surprised considering it led to your biggest turning point as a hero.”  Katsuki stops them in front of an alleyway.  “Think about it nerd.  I know that brain of yours will remember.”
But just looking at the non-descript side road wasn’t immediately triggering any memories.  Izuku stares ahead, flipping through mental images in his mind of middle school.  His brows furrowed in concentration.  It does seem familiar somehow….  Turning point as a hero….  After several silent minutes.  “The sludge villain…” his voice wisps out.
“Aye, the bravery that caught All Might’s attention and solidified my anger towards you.”  He sighs, “At first I was just angry because you were trying to help me again.  Then the hate kicked in when I found out All Might took you under his wing.”  Katsuki hangs his head, “Gah!  I was so jealous of you!  All my life working so hard to be like him and then here you come along with a similar power of that man out of thin air.  I waspissed trying to figure it out.  I even thought you’d been hiding your quirk from me all along, which made me even angrier….  At least that's what I told myself for years.”
“What do you mean?”
“I was jealous true, but I now realize I was angry because you may have been hiding it from me.  I treated you horribly and yet felt betrayed that would keep a quirk from me.  Deep down I also wanted you as my friend, maybe needed you as a friend but refused to admit it.  All those years of deluding myself…”
“But I do feel bad about that!  As soon as All Might made the offer, my first thoughts were I want to tell Kacchan, but he made me swear never to tell anyone.  All I ever really wanted was your approval and I thought if I finally had a quirk you would treat me better.” Izuku frowns, “but instead when you found out, you lashed out even more.”
Ouch.  A pang of spiritual pain shoots through Katsuki’s heart at the confession.  He knew it was true, but to be said aloud hurt.
“Even then I convinced myself, it wasn’t about the quirk.  Maybe I just needed to prove to you that I was worthy of your attention, so it drove me harder to train.”
Katsuki’s eyes squeeze shut as the tears threaten to make an entrance.  “Which made me look at you even more as a rival.”  He pauses, then lets out an exhale.  “I was too blind to see that you were never a rival.”
“Kacchan, please don’t be too hard on yourself.  It hurt, yes, but you helped me by pushing me to do better.  You’re the reason I got stronger.”  He almost wanted to snap about having such an emotional conversation in the middle of a public sidewalk.  They could have discussed all of this at home, what reason is it to go to the sites themselves if not to make the emotional toil more difficult.
“But I shouldn’t have bullied you into it….”
Katsuki really seemed to want to drive these points home for him and frankly as much as he loved his boyfriend, he just wanted to move on.  But he knew getting angry wouldn’t help and so he bites back the frustration and lets out a long exhale to calm his adrenaline spike. “We can’t change the past.  We can only move forward.”
“I know, I know,” Katsuki sighs again, “and I’m trying.”
“I know you are…” Izuku pulls Katsuki’s face down to place a kiss.  “That’s all I ask for.”
“I really love you Deku.”
Izuku smiles, “I love you too, Kacchan.”
Katsuki looks at his watch.  “Oh! We need to get back to the train station.”
“Why?”
“Next is Nagano.”
Based on the trend of places they were visiting, there was only one reason Izuku could think of in Nagano, and that was the Beast’s Forest.  It was one of the worst moments in his life when he’d watched Katsuki being kidnapped and he was powerless to stop it.  ‘Because I’d been too weak…’ he groans in his head and leans back against the bench in the train.  He didn’t want Katsuki to see the turmoil brewing inside of him at revisiting this place, so he does his best to pretend to just look out the window.
Seeing any of his friends hurt angered him, but when Katsuki disappeared into Mr. Compress’ marble, a part of him went with it.  They were like two sides of a coin and there just couldn’t be one without the other.  In fact, after their final fight, that’s why he just wasn’t the same Izuku anymore.  His partner was gone, and he was left alone… again.  Bless her heart but Uraraka tried her best to fill the void despite never knowing that’s what she was doing.  He cared about her and did his best to try and be a good husband, but it just wasn’t the same… it wasn’t love.
“We’re here.”
Izuku turns to look at Katsuki, then to the automated sign above the train doors.  Was he planning on taking them all the way into the forest, because that was still a distance away from the station?  It was already lunch time, but he followed along without questioning anything.  His boyfriend clearly had a plan of what he wanted to show him, and he knew none of this was easy on the man, so the least he could do was go along with it.  It surprises him when they end up at a café at the edge of town.
“Lunch,” the blonde answers as if reading his boyfriend's mind.
Oh good, because he was starving!  While Katsuki talks to the server to be seated, Izuku just takes in the area trying to put the negative thoughts aside.  It was a beautiful spot with an open-air patio.  For a sunny day like today, coupled with the light breeze funneling through, it was a pleasant place to be.  The server seats them near the railing where they would have the best view.  So, that’s what Katsuki was asking for.
Not only was the scenery nice, but the food at the café was delicious.  A spicy karaage chicken for Katsuki and a gyudon beef dish for Izuku.  They had apple manju for dessert, a local specialty according to the server and fresh matcha iced tea.  Just two guys in love on a date, it was wonderful.
“Do you recognize it?” Katsuki glances out over the landscape surrounding the town.  “It’s the edge of the Beast forest.”
“Oh…” there went the mood.
“I’m guessing you realize why I brought you here?”
“Yeah,” and he really didn’t want to go into it.
The blonde shifts from sitting across from his boyfriend to the chair next to the man and takes his hand.  “Did you ever wonder why I told you to stay back that day?”  Izuku shakes his hung head.  “You were already so banged up that when I saw you, it stopped my heart.  I couldn’t process those feelings, but it came out on instinct.  The league was there because of me.  Everyone, you, got hurt and the last thing I needed was any more pain inflicted on you because of me.”
Izuku continues to shake his head, “no, you're wrong!” he grits his teeth in a losing battle to hold back his anger.  “It wasn’t your fault!  None of that was your fault.  My injuries were because I couldn’t control my damn quirk back then.  If I’d been able to, the league wouldn’t have kidnapped you.  It’s my fault you got kidnapped, mine!”
Katsuki pulls his boyfriend into a bear hug.  “Stop it.  Idiot don’t take my failure onto yourself.  You always tried to protect me, but I’m the dumbass that never listened.  I resisted you time after time no matter how hard you tried, so that’s all on me.”
The smaller man goes silent for a time, processing everything being told to him, just allowing his boyfriend to hold him tight.  “You really meant…” he sniffles, “you did it to protect me?”
“I didn’t understand love back then, not even friendship.  I didn’t know that the weird feelings you would give me had a different meaning.  Now I do.” He runs his fingers through Izuku’s hair, soothing the man.  “My instincts to protect you always came from my heart Deku, even if I never showed it that way.”
Izuku hugs back, burying his face deeper into the taller man’s chest.  He’d always thought that the times Katsuki actually worked with him against a villain was purely for the sake of winning.  Even during the Nabu incident when they’d shared One for All, he didn’t think it was because he cared about him, just simply to beat the bad guy.  But now, after hearing all of this, maybe that had been the case after all.  “Thank you for telling me this, it makes me feel a lot better.”
“I’m sorry for bringing this all up,” Katsuki continues to soothe the man.  “And I know you keep saying you just want to move on, but I realized you needed to process your feelings once and for all to truly do so. Crazy, right, that I’m the one saying that?” He chuckles.  Izuku chuckles too.  “I’m gonna bring back your real smile Deku not this fake shit,” he lifts Izuku’s chin, “that’s a promise.  This is almost over, just one last stop and you’ll see it was all for a purpose.”
Izuku truly hoped so.  Katsuki may be right that he’s never let himself just process everything with a good crying session.  Ironic for the guy who would cry often while they were growing up.  But life had hardened him….  Guess that’s why his boyfriend was doing this now and he appreciated it.  It was nice to have that light bulb moment and know truly how much he was loved by Katsuki, that he would put himself back into these memories to help him heal.
By the time they arrived back in Shizuoka two hours later, Izuku was feeling a lot better.  “UA High School?” he questions.  It was a place they knew so well, with both good and bad memories.  Izuku even did a few stints as a guest teacher over the years, working with the up and coming students to foster the next generations of heroes.  It was a mission his younger self would have been happy to accomplish, but the fake smiles he’d have to sport always made him feel like a phony.
“Yup, it’s our last stop.”  It was mid-afternoon, but classes were still in session and the guards let them through without a problem.  As they walked through the campus, Izuku wondered what they were doing there?  Since it had barely changed in the last 20 years, it didn’t take him long to notice they were heading towards one of the training areas called Ground Beta.  Well, there was the answer.  The two men had fought twice here, once during training, and the second time when Katsuki had confronted him about One for All.
“You’re not looking for another match, are you?” Izuku jokingly teases his boyfriend.  “I’d rather not get detention again.”
Katsuki laughs, “stupid, of course not.  Bet I could still kick your ass though.”
“Maybe… or maybe not,” Izuku chuckles.  “But I’m always up for a sparring match, you know, out here, or in bed.”
“So, we can break the bed again?”  Katsuki wiggles his eyebrows.  “Cause that was fun.”
Damn it!  He could never win when it came to worded jabs.  Izuku’s ears burn and he feels the flush of his body at the memories of that night.  They’d both been tipsy to high heaven and lost control.  The repair bills for the singed walls and broken furniture were worth it though…
“Hah!  You’re thinking about it!”
“Shut up,” Izuku turns away in embarrassment and changes the subject, “so what are we here for?”
“Twenty-five years ago, today we fought here the night I learned the truth about your quirk.”
“Wow, you remember the date?!”
He chuckles, “I had to do some digging and calculate it.”  But then Katsuki’s expression changes. “Do you remember what All Might tried to tell us after that fight?”
Izuku shakes his head no.  Surprisingly he could remember a lot, but the moments after the fight he mainly remembers the pain Katsuki was in.  The blonde blamed himself for what happened to All Might and the symbol of peace assured him that wasn’t true.  He’d been surprised to see the blonde completely break down in tears, seeing it as such a rare event.
“We each had what the other needed.  I thought the old man was crazy, but he was right.  We’re so different and yet every time we worked together; we were so much more capable than when apart.  I should have realized then that I needed you, and you needed me… well maybe more of I needed you.”
“That’s not true…” Izuku quietly interjects.  “We both needed each other, and you’re not the only one at fault for not realizing it sooner.  I’m just as guilty.”
Katsuki places his hands on his boyfriend's shoulders.  “No, I’m the only one to blame for wasting the last 20 years of our lives.  If I hadn’t been such a stubborn idiot, you would still have the bright smile you once wore, not this pained one.”
“Kacchan, stop saying that you…”
He cuts him off.  “Let me finish, please.”  Izuku closes his mouth and Katsuki resumes.  “Did you know I hid in the back at your wedding to make sure you didn’t see me?  After our blowup, I refused to admit I’d been wrong, but deep down I knew it, and out of guilt I showed up to make sure you’d moved on and were happy.  When I saw you and bubble cheeks, I honestly thought you were cause you still smiled… not knowing you were just hiding the pain the whole time.”
As the memories flood back, Katsuki’s knees waver.  So many longing gazes and the sadness hidden behind a smile that didn’t shine like in their youth.  Izuku would sometimes wave and like a fool he’d turn his cheek to it.  He crouches down, sitting on his haunches, and holding his face in his hands.  “I should have seen it!  All the times we’d cross paths and you were still trying...  Ugh. I was such an idiot for not paying attention.”  He reaches up and takes Izuku’s hand, as one knee drops to the ground for balance.  “All that time you were waiting for me and I just didn’t see it.”
“Kacchan…”
“Marry me, Izuku!”  He pulls out a ring from his pocket and holds it up.  “Marry me, so I can spend the rest of our lives making up for it.”
Izuku’s eyes mist over as the corners crinkle into a wide-brimmed smile, “Seriously?  Of course, yes!” He drops to his knees as Katsuki slides the ring onto his finger.  Tears trickle down his cheeks, “You make me so happy Kacchan.”
“Now there’s that smile I’ve been waiting for,” the blonde smiles and caresses Izuku’s cheek wiping away the freshly falling tears.  He sweeps in for a kiss.  “I’m gonna do everything I can to keep it there.”
Izuku returns the kiss, then sighs sweetly as their lips part.  “I know it’ll only get better now that I have my partner back.”
“Life partners,” Katsuki chuckles and sweeps his fiancé up into his arms, “you are gonna take my last name, right?”

bkdk k-pop (BTS) AU: Chapter 1- Kacchan
Bakugou was stressed. Then again, he was always stressed. But today was an especially stressful day- he had an audition to go to. This company was great, but they only really hired the best dancers. The problem was.. he had heard that they were looking for singers too. Logically speaking, anyone who could do both would be the clear pick, but that wasn’t going to put him down. This is Bakugou Katsuki- he works ten times as hard as any dancer out there, and is at least twice as athletic. So what if he can’t sing for shit. SO WHAT- he can learn and replicate any choreography they throw at him, and he’s willing to bet his ass he can do it better than any candidate they have.
Katsuki took a deep breath and walked into the studio. Man, if they could afford to have their auditions at this studio.. what kind of money were they talking exactly. He was greeted by a woman who led him to the auditions room. White walls, white floors, huge mirrored wall on one side- this was how it’s done- not some half-assed practice session on a basket ball court like he was used to. He put his bag down by the wall and watched the others who had come before him give their auditions. Being Katsuki, he tried to point out every mistake they made to himself, not just to gloat over it- but to make sure he doesn’t repeat it. He really was more stressed than usual today, it was a wonder he hadn’t snapped already. When it was finally his turn, he came out to the center of the room. His scarlet hued eyes focused on the three judging the audition. They must be big wigs- he had to impress them. Their choreographer was watching from the other side of the room. He had the floor to himself.
The blond took in a deep breath and waited for his music to come on. He had picked a loose polyester shirt to wear over sweats- his most comfortable dance-wear. When the song started up, he immediately went into action. He’d gone over his routine hundreds- no- thousands of times before this audition. And he was nailing every move- every breath he took was calculated, pre-planned. If this company was as good as everyone said they were, they’d recognize his talent and hard work- all the hours he put into this would not go unnoticed. But Katsuki didn’t settle for just that. Any seasoned performer would be able to put in this kind of effort.
His real selling point was the aggression. Every move, no matter how many thousands of times he’d done it- he replicated it with as much force and passion he’d put into it when he first learned it. Katsuki felt like his muscles were on fire by the end of it, but that only fuelled him more. At the end of his song, he stood up from his crouch and looked at the judges for any good signs. They were busy talking amongst themselves, looking excited. The blond stood there, panting, wiping the sweat out of his eyes- refusing the bottle of water offered to him- he watched the three of them by their table impatiently. What the hell was taking so long. He knew he was better than the chumps that came before him- so they ought to have something to say about it. Fuck this. “So?? Can I expect to hear something??”, he couldn’t stop himself before he shot out the words. The entire room seemed to quieten down. He frowned a bit, trying to correct himself. “..can I have some feedback- please??” One of the three at the table piped up, “We’ll get back to you on that- we still have more auditions before we can decide-“ Of course. He felt stupid to have asked. Shit- his friends had warned him to be more respectful, smile some more or whatever. Katsuki huffed and walked to where his bag was and flopped down next to it. Wiping his face and neck with his towel and squeezing the Gatorade into his mouth, he lay there, panting and glaring at all the other candidates.
Who the fuck cares if I smile- it’s skill that counts. That’s when the next candidate walked in. He was apparently the last one they had, and he was late for auditions- dumbass- that was the first mistake he made today as far as Katsuki was concerned. He watched him carefully, the floppy green hair, freckles on his face.. the doe eyes he made at everybody as he stuttered apologies. Please- what could this guy do to change the verdict. “Hello I’m Izuku Midoriya- I’M SO VERY SORRY AGAIN FOR BEING SO LATE- IT WAS THE TRAFFIC.”, the young man bowed low. The company people were more than understanding. “Don’t worry about it Midoriya- go ahead and perform what you’ve prepared for us-“ Bakugou watched Izuku to see what he could do. But it seemed like he hadn’t heard them yet- the green haired candidate was deeply concentrating on something.. His low voice sounded all over the room, “-I did calculate the time it would take me to get here- IF I took a bus- and it was clearly not worth it considering the time and money spent to get here, couple that with not getting seats on the bus anyway-“ “Uh- Izuku it’s alright! You can go ne-“ “-but that’s exactly why I took a taxi! It was prepaid and everything- I checked the routes on maps to make sure we picked the one with the highest rate of traffic clearance- but even that didn’t seem to work cause the detours on road weren’t updated on the map yet- maybe they need a better system in place for things like this- because clearly-“ “IZUKU MIDORIYA?” “YES!??”, he suddenly looked up to see the man looking at him sternly. “You can perform for us now- you’re the last one and we’re waiting-“ Katsuki could barely hold in the giggles at this point. This guy- THIS was the guy he’d been worried about taking his spot. Not a chance- not happening. He watched the greenet take to the center of the room after putting his things down by the wall and handing his memory stick to the sound person. Then the music started up. He danced in time, his moves were sharp, and subtle. As the beat got faster, he kept time without losing his pace or any of his grace. In stark contrast to the blond that had gone before him- there seemed to be no aggression accompanying his energy. Well, for a first- he smiled. And his eyes seemed to find his target easily- he aimed to please- to impress. And that is exactly why he did. There seemed to be an almost palpable change in the atmosphere in the studio. Everyone had their attention fixed on Izuku Midoriya. Katsuki Bakugou did too. He watched him glide across the floor, dynamic and free in his movements. And as a dancer himself, he knew how many hours it took to make it look this effortless. But even after all this, Bakugou was relaxed. Even if he could dance this beautifully- if anything- maybe they’d be matched in skill. Maybe they’d give this Midoriya fellow a second glance before giving the spot to Katsuki. That was when the cunt started to sing. Izuku’s track changed to instrumental as he sang along with the background accompaniment- he hit his notes high as he danced his routine. His pitch didn’t falter once through all the movement. How the fuck- Then he finished on a low note, his voice rumbling deeper than should’ve been possible. So he had a wide range too. What couldn’t this man do? When he was done, he bowed low again and smiled sweetly at the panel. Bringing his hand up to his hair awkwardly he said, “I hope you liked it! It wasn’t the best I could do- and the song I picked wasn’t the most complicated to choreograph but-“ “It was perfect- we loved it! Don’t be so hard on yourself.”, the company man spoke. He was the real deal- one of the main producers. He looked like he meant business, and even he was smiling at Midoriya. Midoriya got the feedback- he got the smiles- he got the excited chattering amongst the panel. Bakugou was livid. He suddenly stood up from his spot, causing the others in the room to turn towards the sound. Gathering up his things, he stomped out of the room and into the hallway leading back out to the elevator. Fuck ‘em. Fuck Midoriya. Fuck that producer. He walked into the elevator, angry with himself. He was angry for a lot of reasons- for not being able to sing- that was the first. At best, he used to rap a little as a hobby when he was younger. Would that help?? They hadn’t mentioned rapping at the auditions. He stood in the back, absolutely seething. It’s not like he could go back and rap for them now- that would make him look like a clown.
As the doors of the elevator closed, he found himself immediately regretting his outburst. Holding his head in his hand, he tried to not scream. He couldn’t do this here- they might still call him after today- he still had a chance.
He looked up suddenly to see his messy mop of green hair pushing through the doors. His eyes looked large and apologetic. Pathetic. “Come to gloat?”, he shot at him gruffly. Midoriya seemed to be taken aback as he shuffled into the lift- bag in hand. “N-No?? G-gloat about what- exactly..”, his voice sounded, unsure. This was the guy who would get his job. Right in front of him. What the hell did he have that Katsuki didn’t?? He glared at him before looking up. The elevator was making its way down to the ground floor- where he’d be taking a bus back to his shitty rented apartment that he could barely afford- yes, a bus- because he couldn’t afford a damn taxi like this freckled prodigy. He hated his guts- pushing his way into the elevator like that to hang around the loser of the day. “You got the job- idiot- so act like it.” Bakugou preferred it that way. At least if he gloated, he’d be able to put it all behind him- chalk it up to be a bad week and start again. But instead, Izuku tilted his head at him like a confused puppy. “..Bakugou right? They mentioned something about your stunts- said they’d be contacting some of us for choreography next week- but uhh- they figured maybe you don’t want the job anymore cause you-“ The blond snapped his head towards him instantly. “WHAT? THEY SAID WHAT?-“ He was already pressing the buttons to go back up- he pressed the wrong floor a couple of times before getting the right one. His face was sweating again. “Hey! I was on my way down- you could’ve waited..”, the other man’s voice was soft and undemanding as he watched the blond look panicked. Katsuki suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder, just as the doors opened on the right floor. “Tell them the truth- they seem like nice people. They were really impressed by you” The blond turned to look at him, dumbfounded. He was only met with a smile, not anywhere close to malicious- just a genuine look of happiness on this stranger’s face at the prospect of his adversary getting the job in his place. Fuckin’ weirdo. Bakugou walked through the hallway and into the studio, embarrassed that all eyes were on him. Many of the dancers seemed to have left already- the others were packing up. A few were speaking to the producers and the choreographer and standing around having coffee. As the spiky haired blond approached the group, he bowed his head slightly in apology. The producer took his hand and shook it. “Did Midoriya catch up to you then? We were going to call you too of course- so I take it you will come to the choreography round next week?” “Yes- of course I will- thank you so much for the opportunity sir-“, the otherwise prideful young man was severely humbled by the offer. This could just be his big break- if he could keep his emotions in check before this was all over. He felt like this was his chance to explain himself before things got out of hand. “I- I have some anger management issues- which I’m working on of course- that’s not going to be something that’ll hinder our work flow- I’m very sorry about walking out like that-“ It had to be done. He had to make the best impression on them if was going to be considered at all. He couldn’t smile and make doe eyes like him, but at the very least, he could be sincere if he tried. The producer looked at him with kind eyes, but cancelled out the gesture in a rather assertive tone, “Bakugou- we expect great things from you- and we also expect that you’ll be professional about keeping your emotions appropriate to the work setting-“ He sighed before continuing to sip on his coffee. “We’re not exactly sure what kind of arrangement we have for you, but only time and working together will tell-“ Before he could contain himself, he was speaking, “So another round of testing? That’s when you’ll decide you want me in the company?” The choreographer was listening before, but now he grinned wide. “This fish is ready to jump ah- PD?” He laughed and slapped the man on his shoulder. PD looked at Katsuki again, and spoke in a measured tone. “You’re assuming you’ll get the spot and nobody else? Isn’t that a little too confident- even if you are talented, that isn’t something we like in this company-“ At that, the blond fixed his scarlet gaze on his, his eyes hard like steel.  “Sir- respectfully- I know I’ve worked hard enough to get in- I know I’ll work harder than anybody here to make you see that- I will show you why I deserve this job-“ He took a deep breath and bowed low. When he straightened up, he saw that PD was smiling- a small, knowing look on his face. “I look forward to that Katsuki-“ Bakugou breathed a sigh of relief before taking a cup of coffee himself. He needed his nerves to settle already. “But to be completely honest? Since you do seem to want that from me-“, the producer smiled some more before sprinkling some sweetener in his cup, “Midoriya seems to be showing us why he deserves this job- maybe you ought to ask him for tips-“ Katsuki breathed in sharply and directed his glare at the door, willing the green haired wonder to walk in.
But Midoriya was already in a bus on his way home- to his own shitty little apartment. He just had to get this job- even if he had to fight that pretty blond for it. Izuku sighed, his breath fogged up the window as he looked out into the streets passing by him. He chuckled to himself. This Bakugou person had tried hard to make an enemy out of him- but it didn’t work. Izuku knew a good man when he saw one. This one just seemed to want to push people away- even if he was harmless. Well- maybe he’d scratch a little.. like a cat. “Katsuki- Katsuki-chan – Katchan “, the greenet mumbled to himself as he settled his head down on his bunched-up scarf. A three-hour long bus ride called for a nap after all. Izuku smiled suddenly, a pinkness in his cheeks. “Kacchan..”

You’re the Only One for Me (BKDK)
Hello! Here is one out of the two Christmas BKDK one-shots that I’ve been working on for the holiday season. There’s a little bit of angst, but at least there’s a happy ending!
I hope you guys like it :D
Title: You’re the Only One for Me
Summary: While shopping for a Christmas gift for Katsuki, Izuku happens to see him with Eijirou by the jewelry. He knows that they’re just friends, but he can’t help but let his imagination run wild...
One-Shot Notes: Established BKDK; been dating for a few years; Katsuki and Izuku are 24
One-shot is under the cut!
“Shopping?”
Izuku stared at Ochaco as she bit into her coffee cake.
“Yeah! Let’s go and do some Christmas shopping! You still need to get something for Bakugou, don’t you?” she asked.
“I do, but...” Izuku fidgeted in his seat. “I don’t know what I should get him...” he trailed off.
“That’s fine! We can just browse around!” Ochaco reached for her vanilla cappuccino. “I still need to find something for Iida...” she trailed off.
“Get him another pair of glasses?” Izuku suggested.
Ochaco laughed.
“He literally has five hundred pairs. I don’t need to add to his collection.” Ochaco told him.
“Hm...” Izuku sipped on his tea. “I think you’ll be able to find something for him. You know Iida best, after all.” he said.
“Yeah, you’re right about that one...” Ochaco looked outside. “So, do you want to go now? I have nothing else to do for the day.” she suggested.
“Are you sure?” Izuku asked.
“Yeah! Let’s go right after this!” Ochaco chirped.
“Alright.” Izuku said.
After they finished their coffee, they headed straight for the mall. They browsed through the shops, looking around for various gifts that they could get for Tenya and Katsuki.
“Oh! Look at this turtleneck!” Izuku exclaimed, waving Ochaco over.
“A turtleneck?” she approached him. “Oh! That does look nice!” she said.
“I was thinking that maybe Iida would like something like this.” Izuku explained.
“You think so?” Ochaco asked.
“I know so! This would suit Iida very well.” Izuku told her.
“Is that so...” she took the navy blue turtleneck off the rack and observed it. “You know, I think this would be a good gift for Bakugou, too.” she noted.
“For Kacchan?!” Izuku exclaimed.
“Yeah! He would look good in something like this!” she picked up a black one of the turtleneck. “Here, they even have a black one!” she chirped.
“A turtleneck for Kacchan, huh...” he trailed off.
His mind drifted off into dangerous territory, imagining Kacchan in the turtleneck. It would pair well with jeans and a beige coat. It would also do wonders in defining his muscles and his chest—
Izuku’s cheeks turned red, which made Ochaco giggle.
“Your thoughts are wandering, aren’t they?” she asked.
“Ah! N-No, that’s not it at all!” Izuku squeaked out.
Ochaco laughed.
“You don’t need to lie, Deku. I know you’re thinking of Bakugou in the turtleneck.” she said.
Izuku bit his lip, lowering his head in embarrassment.
“You should get it!” Ochaco chirped.
“Should I really...” Izuku trailed off.
He looked at the turtleneck once again.
Maybe I should get it for him, he thought to himself.
“You know what, I think I’ll get it.” Izuku said.
“Good! I think I’m going to get the navy blue one for Iida.” Ochaco said.
“Cool.” Izuku replied.
He looked away from Ochaco and that was when he spotted an oddly familiar blond by the jewelry display cases in the jewelry department.
Wait a minute...is that—
“Is that Bakugou?”
Izuku blinked, looking and seeing that Ochaco was also looking in the same direction.
“It is...” Izuku trailed off.
What is Kacchan doing here, he asked himself.
He watched as Eijirou approached the blond, a grin on his face.
“And Kirishima’s with him, too...” Izuku trailed off.
“Oh my god.” Ochaco said.
They went to hide behind a nearby clothing rack in case Katsuki or Eijirou happened to look over and see them. They peeked over the rack, observing the two.
“What are they doing by the jewelry?” Ochaco whispered.
“Do I look like I know?!” Izuku whispered back.
She looked at him.
“Did you know those two would be meeting up today?” she asked.
“No, I had no idea...” Izuku trailed off.
He watched as Katsuki peered down at the jewelry display cases, Eijirou leaning in closer so that he could get a better look.
I mean, it doesn’t matter what Kacchan does with his time. It’s around break time, so he has the right to hang out with whoever he wants to. He has no right to report to me on every little detail. But...I can’t help but be curious. Why is he with Kirishima, and in the jewelry department, too, he asked himself.
Katsuki pointed at something in the display case and the worker took it out. Then, a necklace was placed around Eijirou’s neck. Izuku could only stare as Katsuki observed the necklace around Eijirou’s neck, fingers trailing along the redhead’s collarbone and neck as he smiled.
The sight made his stomach churn.
I know that they’re best friends. But...would best friends act that way, he asked himself.
Ochaco stared at him with concern.
“Deku...” she trailed off.
She touched his arm, which drew his gaze to her.
“Huh? Yeah, Uraraka?” he answered.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
“Y-Yeah, I’m fine.” Izuku stared down at the turtleneck. “We should go and pay!” he said.
“Huh? Oh...yeah, we should go and do that.” Ochaco said.
As they began to head to the register, Izuku couldn’t erase the image of Katsuki smiling at Eijirou fondly out of his mind.
🧡💚🧡💚
“You think Bakugou might be cheating on you?”
Shouto sipped on his cup of tea as Izuku set his cup down on the table.
“Well...I don’t want to think that that’s the case, but what else am I supposed to think after seeing that?” Izuku asked.
Two weeks had passed since Izuku saw Katsuki with Eijirou at the department store. He tried not to think too much about it, but he couldn’t help it. Seeing Katsuki picking out a necklace for Eijirou and the smile that crossed his lips was enough to make his mind run wild.
“Well, I guess you’re right. When you see your boyfriend smiling fondly at someone else and they go jewelry shopping together, it does give off the impression that he is cheating on you.” Shouto said.
“It does, doesn’t it?! It does! And that’s why I can’t stop thinking about it!” Izuku exclaimed.
“However, I don’t think Bakugou is actually cheating on you.” Shouto told him.
“What makes you think that?” Izuku asked.
“He loves you.”
“Yeah, that one’s an obvious one, but that’s not a good enough reason.”
Shouto sighed.
“Bakugou doesn’t seem like the playboy type. He’s not someone who will go around cheating on their loved one. If anything, he’s actually pretty loyal.” he explained.
He looked at Izuku.
“You know him best. You two are childhood friends, after all. So, you out of all people would know that Bakugou wouldn’t cheat.” he stated.
“I know...I know that, but still...” Izuku mumbled, running his fingers through his hair.
Shouto took a sip from his mug before setting it down, reaching out and taking Izuku’s hand in his.
“Midoriya.” he began.
Izuku slowly looked up to meet Shouto’s gaze.
“Todoroki...” he trailed off.
“Believe in Bakugou.” Shouto told him.
“Believe in him?” Izuku questioned.
“Just trust in him and it will be fine.”
“Uh...I still don’t quite understand what you mean by that, but alright.”
Just then, Shouto’s phone began to ring. Shouto eyed his phone curiously.
“Momo...?” he wondered out loud.
He released his hold on Izuku’s hand and he picked up his phone, answering it.
“Yeah, it’s me.” he said.
Izuku watched as Shouto’s facial expression changed with each thing Momo was telling him over the phone.
“I understand, I’m coming back now. I’ll see you then. Bye.” Shouto said.
He hung up and stood from his seat.
“I’m going to go now. There’s an emergency back at home that I need to help Momo take care of.” he said.
“Oh, of course! Let me see you out.” Izuku offered as he stood.
They walked over to the door.
“I do suggest that you talk to Bakugou about this and how you’re feeling. It’s not good to keep your feelings bottled up.” Shouto advised.
“Yeah, I’ll do that.” Izuku smiled. “Thank you for hearing me out, Todoroki.” he said.
“Any time, Midoriya.” Shouto said.
“Well, I’ll see you around!” Izuku chirped.
“Yeah.” Shouto replied.
Izuku opened the door and they came face to face with a stunned Katsuki. As soon as his eyes met Shouto’s, he scowled.
“What the fuck are you doing here, you shitty Half n’ Half bastard?” he bit out.
“Midoriya invited me over.” Shouto replied.
“I can fucking see that! Why the hell would you be in our goddamn apartment, to begin with?!” Katsuki snapped.
“We had tea and talked about some things. That’s all we did.” Shouto looked down at the watch on his wrist. “Now, if you excuse me, I have somewhere I need to be.” he said before breezing past Katsuki and heading down the hall.
“Huh?! Oi, you annoying Half n’ Half bastard! Get back here!” he shouted.
“Kacchan, please, just let it go!” Izuku pleaded.
Katsuki let out an annoyed huff before stepping inside. He slammed the door shut, making Izuku wince.
He seems upset, he thought to himself.
“So? What the hell were you doing with that bastard, Deku?” Katsuki asked.
“We were just having tea, Kacchan.” Izuku told him as he went over to the dining table and began to pick up the two mugs.
“You weren’t doing anything weird with him, were you?”
“Define weird.”
“Like...you know...”
“Like what?” Izuku turned the faucet on and began to wash the mugs.
“Like...” Katsuki sighed. “You know what, forget it.” he said.
“No, tell me. What did you think I was doing with Todoroki? Did you think we were doing something inappropriate?”
“No, that is not what I meant—“
“No, I think that’s exactly what you meant. Were you thinking that I was cheating on you with Todoroki?”
“What the hell? I said that wasn’t it—“
“Then, what else is it?”
Izuku set the mugs down in the sink, the water continuing to run as he stared at Katsuki, anger slowly bubbling up.
“Look, Deku...” Katsuki sighed. “I don’t trust Half n’ Half, so I was making sure that he didn’t force you into anything.” he said.
“Why would he do that? He is my best friend. There is no way that I would go around cheating on you with someone who I see as a brother. Izuku ran his hand through his hair. “Gosh, I can’t believe this...” he trailed off.
“I told you—“
“So, I can’t have a cup of tea with Todoroki without it coming off as cheating on you and yet you can go frolicking around the jewelry department in a department store with Kirishima without it coming off as cheating?”
Katsuki blinked.
“Wait, what are you talking about?” he asked.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about. Didn’t you go with Kirishima to the department store two weeks ago?” Izuku asked.
“I did, but how do you know about that?” Katsuki answered.
“Uraraka and I saw you two! We were doing a little bit of shopping and happened to see you with him.” Izuku bit his lip. “I’ve tried my hardest not to think about that day, but I can’t help it.” he said.
“Deku, whatever it is you’re thinking, stop thinking it.” Katsuki told him.
“Do you even know what I’m thinking, Kacchan?” Izuku asked.
“I have a pretty good idea of what you’re thinking, so I want you to stop thinking it right this instant.” Katsuki said.
“But I can’t help it! I can’t help but think about it! Especially when you were staring at him as he tried on the necklace! You smiled at him so fondly...just like how you would stare at me...” Izuku choked out.
He could feel a lump begin to form in his throat as tears burned at the back of his eyes.
“Oi, Deku. Are you implying that I’m cheating on you with Shitty Hair?” Katsuki asked.
“That’s exactly what I’m implying! Why else would you be with Kirishima by the jewelry? Why else would you be picking out a necklace for him to try on? Why else would you be smiling at him like he’s your whole world?! Because you like him! You’re cheating on me with him!” Izuku shouted.
“Why the hell would I cheat on you?! There’s no reason for me to do something like that! And about that necklace—“
“I don’t want to hear it!”
Izuku’s hands flew over his ears. He didn’t want to hear what came next.
Katsuki groaned, running a hand through his hair.
“Look, Deku. You’re blowing this way out of proportion.” he made his way over to Izuku. “Stop making such crazy assumptions—“
“I am not crazy, Kacchan.” Izuku bit out.
“I never said that you were.” Katsuki told him.
“But isn’t that what you’re implying?” Izuku asked.
“No, it is not.” Katsuki sighed. “Look, let’s just sit down and talk this out.” he suggested.
As his hands rested on Izuku’s shoulders, Izuku spoke.
“Don’t touch me!” he shouted, smacking Katsuki’s hands away.
Katsuki was taken aback by Izuku’s sudden outburst. Then, he gritted his teeth.
“Deku, what the fuck—“
“Look, I...I can’t do this right now. I think I’m going to need to step out for a bit.” Izuku said.
“No the hell you aren’t! We are going to talk this out and—“
“Just fucking stop it already!”
Katsuki’s eyes widened.
“Deku...” he trailed off.
“Please, just stop! I...I can’t deal with this right now.” Izuku choked out.
“Deku—“ Katsuki reached his hand out only for it to be smacked away.
“I hate you, Kacchan!” Izuku screamed, tears streaming down his cheeks.
He pushed past Katsuki roughly and dashed out of the apartment, slamming the door behind him. Katsuki stood in the kitchen, going through what just happened as the water in the sink continued running.
“I hate you, Kacchan!” Izuku’s words played in his mind like a broken record.
Hearing those words made it feel as if Katsuki’s heart was slowly being ripped out of his chest. He gritted his teeth, his hands curling into fists.
“Goddammit!” he shouted, swinging his fist into the wall.
He panted harshly, looking at the large dent that he left in the wall. He withdrew his hand, running it through his hair. He could feel his hand tremble in his hair as he bit his lip.
“Shit.”
🧡💚🧡💚
Shouto looked at Izuku, who was curled up on the couch in a fluffy maroon red blanket. He sighed, bringing two mugs over to the coffee table.
“Here, drink some.” he said.
“Thanks.” Izuku said as he took the mug from him.
Shouto sat down beside him, sipping on his tea.
“You should have some. It’s spiced tea.” he suggested.
“Oh...is that so...” Izuku trailed off.
He inhaled and instantly, the smell of cinnamon and other spices filled his nostrils. It reminded him of Katsuki.
Izuku bit his lip as tears filled his eyes.
“Kacchan...” he choked out as he began to cry.
Shouto looked at Izuku with concern.
“Midoriya...” he trailed off.
He reached for a box of tissues and offered it to him. Izuku set his mug down and took the box of tissues, pulling some out and dabbing at his eyes.
“Gosh, I thought I would have run out of tears by now...” he mumbled.
Shouto stayed silent as Izuku continued.
“Ugh, I feel like I shouldn’t have blown up on the whole cheating issue like that. I said some really hurtful things to Kacchan...I bet he hates me now...” Izuku trailed off.
“He doesn’t hate you.” Shouto said.
Izuku sniffled.
“How would you know that, Todoroki...?” he asked.
“I just know that he doesn’t.” Shouto replied.
“That’s pretty vague...”
“Take it or leave it, Midoriya.”
“Alright, alright...”
Izuku curled up more into the blanket as Shouto spoke.
“Have you tried to get ahold of him so that you could fix things?” he asked.
“No. I highly doubt he would want to talk to me, anyway...” Izuku mumbled.
“You won’t know that unless you try.” Shouto said.
Izuku watched Shouto just as the apartment door to reveal Momo, who had on a simple white blouse with dark denim skinny jeans, a Burberry trench coat, and brown heeled boots.
“Hello, Midoriya, Shouto.” she greeted.
“Hi, Yaoyorozu.” Izuku said.
“Hey, Momo.” Shouto said.
Momo set her bags down in the kitchen as she spoke, glancing at Izuku.
“By the way, you have a visitor, Midoriya. I ran into him on my way back.” she explained.
“A visitor?” Izuku questioned.
He watched as Eijirou poked his head into the apartment.
“Whoa, Yaoyorozu! Your apartment is so huge!” he gushed.
“Is it? I find it’s a pretty normal size.” Momo commented.
Izuku laughed nervously.
What a typical Yaoyorozu response, he thought to himself.
He then redirected his attention Eijirou, who smiled once they locked eyes.
“Yo, Midoriya!” he greeted.
“Hi...” Izuku trailed off.
Immediately, he was reminded of when he saw him with Katsuki at the jewelry department in the store. He recalled the way Katsuki’s fingers brushed along his collarbone as he smiled fondly at him.
It was enough to make him feel sick.
He quickly looked away, choosing to focus on the firework pattern of Shouto’s button up top. His eyes traced each and every wrinkle in the shirt along with the streams of fireworks as Eijirou spoke.
“Hey, Todoroki, do you happen to have an open room available? I want to talk to Midoriya alone.” Eijirou requested.
Izuku tensed at Eijirou’s words.
Alone? What would he want to talk to me about alone, he asked himself.
“Yeah, you can talk to him in the guest room.” Shouto stood. “I’ll show you to it.” he said.
Then, he turned to look at Izuku.
“Come.” he said.
Izuku bit his lip, eyeing Shouto. He then looked at Momo, who gave him an encouraging smile. He released a sigh, standing up. He kept the blanket wrapped around him as he followed Shouto and Eijirou in the direction of the guest room.
They stepped inside and Shouto gestured to the bed.
“You two can sit on the bed and talk. Momo and I will be in the living room if you two need anything.” he said.
As Shouto turned to leave, Izuku grabbed the hem of his shirt. Shouto turned, looking into Izuku’s eyes. His expression screamed, “Please don’t leave me here.”
He sighed, moving in towards Izuku.
“You need to do this, Midoriya.” he said.
He reached down, squeezed Izuku’s clenched hand lightly, and released his hold on his shirt. He then gave him a thumbs up.
“Good luck.” he told him before heading out of the bedroom.
“Wai—“ Izuku watched as the door closed.
Izuku began to panic.
Oh god, what do I do now?! I don’t know how I’m supposed to handle this, he thought to himself.
He bit his lip as Eijirou spoke.
“So...how have you been, Midoriya?” he asked.
“Huh?” Izuku quickly turned around to face Eijirou. “I’ve been doing fine.” he replied.
Like hell I’m doing fine, Izuku thought to himself.
He watched as Eijirou examined him closely, brows knitted. He eyed him up and down before speaking.
“Well...it’s just that I heard from Bakugou that he hasn’t seen you in five days.” Eijirou commented.
“Oh...is that so...” Izuku trailed off.
Has it really been five days? Gosh, I’ve been brooding over this for so long that I’ve lost count of the days, he thought to himself.
“He told me what happened, you know. About how you saw us at the jewelry department in the store and how you thought he was cheating on you with me. It took me a while to find out where you had gone and now that I’ve found you, I want to get some things straight.” Eijirou told him.
“Like what?” Izuku asked.
He hugged the blanket around him tighter, his knuckles growing white as he prepared himself for what the redhead was about to tell him.
Please don’t say it. Please don’t tell me that he is cheating on me with you. I don’t think my heart could take it, he thought to himself.
He bit his lip, feeling the tears well up in his eyes as Eijirou spoke.
“You have it all wrong, Midoriya. Bakugou is not cheating on you with me, let alone anybody.” he said.
Izuku eyed Eijirou in surprise.
“What...?” he asked.
“Bakugou isn’t cheating on you. He would never dream of doing such a thing. And he would most certainly not do that kind of stuff with me. I got together with Mina recently and I love her to pieces, so there is no way either of us would think of cheating.” Eijirou told him.
“So then...why...?”
“I wasn’t supposed to say anything until he actually did it, but it looks like I’m going to have to say it in order for you to understand. The reason why we were at the department store that day was because he was looking for a Christmas gift for you.”
“For me?”
Eijirou nodded.
“He wanted to get something nice for you, but he didn’t know what. So, he asked me for help. We decided to go shopping around during our lunch break and that was when he came across the jewelry. He saw this really nice necklace that he believed you would like and had me try it on just to see what it would look like. When it was placed around my neck, he started smiling and I asked him why he was smiling so brightly. He said it was because he imagined you wearing it and it made him happy.” Eijirou explained.
“Is...Is that so...” Izuku choked out.
The tears welled up more, threatening to spill down his cheeks. He tried to hold them back as best as he could as Eijirou continued.
“When you accused him of cheating on you, he was shocked and very hurt. Then you ran out on him and left, saying such hurtful things to him. It would be an understatement to say that he was devastated. When I went to see him, he looked very depressed, like the life had been sucked out of him. He kept saying that he hurt your feelings and that it was all his fault and I...” Eijirou sighed. “Midoriya, I have never seen him love anyone like he loves you. Gosh, I think that you’re the only person he loves so deeply. He’s as loyal as loyal can get, so he would never dare dream of cheating on you. You know him best, so why would you think that he would cheat on you, Midoriya? Now, because of this misunderstanding, you’re both hurting, you’re here, and he’s alone in the apartment looking like a ridiculous hot mess.” he told him.
At those words, Izuku felt himself crumble. Tears streamed down his cheeks as his legs began to wobble. They gave way, making him sink onto his knees on the floor as sobs fell from his lips. He reached up to wipe the tears away, but more kept cascading down.
“Ka...Kacchan...!” he choked out in between tears, the image of a sad Katsuki in their apartment alone burning itself into his brain.
A sympathetic look crossed Eijirou’s face as he stood from his seat on the bed, walking over to Izuku. He knelt down before him, touching his cheek and wiping away his tears.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you cry. It’s just...” he gritted his teeth. “Goddammit, it’s Christmas Eve. Do you really want to spend tonight away from him?” he asked.
Izuku hiccuped, slowly raising his head to stare at Eijirou through teary eyes.
“I...” he trailed off.
“Do you?” Eijirou asked.
Izuku sniffled.
“I...I don’t...I miss...I miss Kacchan...” he choked out between sobs.
“Then, I’m sure you know what you need to do.” Eijirou told him.
Izuku nodded.
“Yeah...I’m going to go back and talk to him.” he said.
🧡💚🧡💚
“Kacchan...I’m back...”
Izuku hesitantly stepped into the apartment, closing the door behind him. After toeing off his shoes and putting on a pair of slippers, he began to make his way to the living area.
That was when he spotted Katsuki, who was sitting on the floor with his back against the back of the couch. His knees were pulled up to his chest and he had his forehead pressed to his knees.
He didn’t hear me, huh, he thought to himself.
“Kacchan?” he tried again.
He saw Katsuki fidget a little, but he made no move to raise his head. Izuku bit his lip as he made his way over to him.
“Hey, Kacchan...I’m back home. I’m sorry for leaving like that. And also for assuming that you were cheating on me with Kirishima. It was so stupid of me. Kirishima came by and told me everything. He said that you were devastated and alone and that...it broke my heart. I’m sure you were hurting much more than I was. So...I’m very sorry for hurting you, Kacchan.” he apologized.
Katsuki still didn’t respond. Izuku felt uneasiness well up in his gut as he bit down on his lip harder. He knelt down and placed a hand on Katsuki’s arm.
“Kacchan...” his voice wavered a little. “Won’t you at least look at me...?” he asked, a plea evident in his voice.
Then, Katsuki pulled him into his arms. Izuku stiffened before melting in his arms, wrapping his arms around Katsuki as the blond spoke.
“Fucking goddammit, don’t you dare leave me like that ever again.” Katsuki bit out.
Katsuki rested his head on Izuku’s shoulder and he felt something wet soak through his sweater. Izuku felt himself become choked up at the realization of what was happening.
“Kacchan...” he trailed off, tears filling up in his eyes.
Katsuki held him tightly, one hand fisted in his sweater and the other moving to fist itself in his hair.
“You goddamn nerd, don’t go.” Katsuki said.
“I won’t go. I’m right here, Kacchan.” he withdrew a little, cupping Katsuki’s cheeks. “See? I’m right here.” he said.
“I can fucking see that.” Katsuki barked out as he met his gaze.
Izuku smiled sweetly at him.
“It’s okay, Kacchan. You can cry like you did before.” he said.
Katsuki scoffed.
“Who the fuck was crying before...?” he grumbled.
Izuku giggled as he continued to stroke his cheeks. He pulled Katsuki closer and pressed their foreheads together.
“Kacchan, I’m so, so sorry. I’m sorry for everything.” he said.
“No, don’t you dare apologize. This was all my fault—“
“Shut it. None of this was your fault. It was all mine.”
“Oi—“
Izuku smacked Katsuki’s cheeks.
“Stop that, Kacchan.” he chided.
Katsuki narrowed his eyes at him.
“Make me.” he bit out.
Izuku leaned in and pressed a sweet, chaste kiss to his lips. He felt Katsuki immediately relax, pulling Izuku into his lap as he kissed back. Izuku hummed into the kiss as he played with Katsuki’s hair.
Gosh, he missed this.
Izuku pulled away from the kiss, staring into Katsuki’s eyes. He nuzzled his nose against Katsuki’s as the blond spoke.
“Oi, Deku.” he said.
“Yeah?” Izuku answered.
“It’s a little early, but I have something I want to give you.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, really.”
Katsuki held Izuku in his arms as he stood, Izuku immediately wrapping his legs around Katsuki’s torso. He carried him in the direction of their bedroom, setting him down on the bed once they arrived. Izuku watched curiously as Katsuki opened the nightstand drawer and pulled out a small box.
“Here, open it.” he said.
Izuku took the box from him and opened it, seeing a heart-shaped pendant that read “You have the key to my heart” with a small key charm that had the letter “I” etched onto it and a small heart charm that had the letter “K” etched onto it.
“Kacchan...” he choked out, taken away by how beautiful it was.
“This is your Christmas gift, Deku. I’m giving it to you early so that I can make a point to you.” Katsuki said.
Izuku watched as Katsuki took the box away from him and he took the necklace out, unclasping it. He then brought it around Izuku’s neck, his fingers lightly brushing against his exposed skin. Izuku felt sparks erupt within him as Katsuki’s breath hit his cheek. Katsuki clasped the necklace behind his neck and he pulled away, looking at Izuku.
“You are the only one for me, Deku. So, don’t go assuming shit like I’m cheating on you, especially with someone like Shitty Hair.” he said.
Then, he took Izuku’s hand and placed it over his heart.
“You’re the only one that has the key to my heart. Don’t you dare forget that.” he said.
Izuku stared at Katsuki, taking note of his flushed cheeks as he stared at him. Tears blurred his vision as he spoke.
“Ka...Kacchan...” his voice was wobbly. “I...I love you, Kacchan. I love you so much...” he choked out.
“And I,” Katsuki wiped away his tears as he leaned in towards him, “I love you too.” he said.
Izuku felt his heart soar as Katsuki captured his lips in another kiss, this one sweeter than the last. He kissed back, looping his arms over his shoulders as Katsuki gently pushed him onto the mattress.
Izuku smiled into the kiss as they lost themselves in each other, refusing to part even for a second.

BNHA Rewatch: Episode 34 “Gear up for Final Exams”
 mysterylover123
I always break this one out around Finals week.
Tumblr media
Pictured: Deku and Kacchan in 10 years.  (Of course episode 34 opens with the Mineta bit).
Now to count down the Students in Class A from least to most smart:
20TH & 19TH:
Tumblr media
Kaminari is constantly frying his brain with his own quirk, and Mina is used to just kinda coasting on her quirk and athletic skills, so they’re both last.
18th
Tumblr media
Aw poor Aoyama. Not exactly great at anything.
17th
Tumblr media
I dunno why but I thought Sero would be higher.
16th
Tumblr media
OMG Tooru is eating lunch with the Dekusquad! Is that where she falls?
15th
Tumblr media
Kirishima 15th, same # he placed in the 1st popularity poll oddly enough
14th
Tumblr media
The biggest surprise of the bunch - introverted doesn’t =brilliant.
13th
Tumblr media
I think I thought Ochaco would be higher on the list. She’s not dumb, per se, just middle of the road.
12th & 11th
Tumblr media
I dunno i guess they’re supposed to be middle-of-the-road in everything.
10th
Tumblr media
Congrats on the midway points Shoji!
9th
Tumblr media
Why.
8th
Tumblr media
Oji you do good.
7th
Tumblr media
Nice, Kyoka!
6th
Tumblr media
Tsu did good too. I didn’t think she was dumb or anything, but she’s not geeky like Momo so it seems surprising.
5th
Tumblr media
The third smartest of the Big 3? Wow, Shoto. Always second best, aint’cha?
4th
Tumblr media
My best boy is so smart and cute.
3rd
Tumblr media
The biggest surprise of the poll - at least, first time around. You assume Bakugo is dumb. He’s not.
2nd
Tumblr media
Iida is Class rep, but still second in grades to...
1st
Tumblr media
Best of the best! Momo Yaoyorozu I love you.
Tumblr media
Aw Shoto noticed she’s feeling down. Let the Todomomo/BKDK arc begin!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ooh Uraraka looks really mad about Monoma being mean to Iida. (Or maybe it’s supposed to be Deku. I don’t care. Iichaco hc)
Tumblr media
So if Monoma is Class 1B Bakugo, who is Kendo? Iida? Deku? Kirishima?
Tumblr media
Kendo mentions an older classmate, and my HC is that it was Nejire. She hangs with Nejire in the Culture Fest Arc. I think they’re friends.
LOL This scene is like a rundown of all Bakugo’s most popular ships.
KACCHACO
Tumblr media
Because Uraraka knows exactly what Bakugo is thinking.
TODOBAKU
Tumblr media
Because Bakugo makes sure to challenge Todoroki too.
KIRIBAKU
Tumblr media
Because Kiri talks about him like a spouse.
and of course, BAKUDEKU
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PAY ATTENTION TO ME. (More in the corner)
Tumblr media
“You’re getting worse than I thought” Gotta love that villain FauxShadowing.
Tumblr media
This is how y a do The Power of Friendship right, in my opinion.
Now a rundown of my ships taking the exams/Studying!
Kamijiro!
Tumblr media
Todomomo!
Tumblr media
BKDK!  (Oh my god they’re the two halves of me taking a test)
Tumblr media
Kirimina!
Tumblr media
We’re just missing Iidaraka
Tumblr media
An approximation of my initial response to learning that the next arc would be about pairs of students fighting their teachers: YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TODOMOMO VS AIZAWA?! I’M TOO BLESSED COULD IT POSSIBLY GET ANY BETTER
OH MY GOD
Tumblr media
YES IT CAN
Tumblr media
BAKUDEKU VS ALL MIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
OMG BEST PREMISE EVER (Or so I thought at the time, not to know that it could be topped. That’s MHA, always topping itself). Can I also just say that the design of the Final Exam arc is brilliant. I noticed this a lot in comparing it with the PL Exam later on, but I personally think of it as Hori’s own License to Print Character Development, and I absolutely approve.
Tumblr media
This is probably the arc that changed the most from adaptation in manga to anime - and although I adored this arc in the anime the first time I saw it, there are a few changes in it that I think are actually not for the better. That’s to say, they make for more entertaining television, but they also change the characters.
Tumblr media
Firstly, changing it so the tests happen one after another, instead of simultaneously like the manga, means that the characters have different amounts of time to strategize ahead of time. This puts a certain light on the big character moments in the arc, particularly Momo, Shoto, Deku and Kacchan. 4 of the top 5 smartest kids in class, and they don’t even try and strategize beforehand? Made sense in the manga where they had no shot, but in the anime, not so much.
Tumblr media
Second, also, Uraraka isn’t really the type to do this, she’s too laid back and Type B, so the anime having her strategize with Deku...I guess it’s a way to throw in some ship tease, but other than that it does nothing for her character arc, or any of the other seemingly random characters they throw into the strategy room along with them. Basically, it’s anime filler, so I don’t really care about any of it except Deku’s observations, since those are from the manga (he observes the others after he and Kacchan pass).
For the record: Manga Order: Todoroki and Momo vs Aizawa, intercut with Midoriya and Bakugo vs All Might; Todomomo first, BKDK second. Deku then observes the other teams for a few chapters as they all pass, with Mineta being last.
Tumblr media
So Fight #1 in the anime: Kiri and Sato vs Cementoss. There’s this lady on Youtube who did these really great analyses of the first four fights of the FE arc (never got around to doing the rest) so I’ll put links to her (Excellent!) analyses of those four fights. LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUABh3SiaMs
Tumblr media
I’ve noticed that Kirishima is often the first one thrown under the bus in school exercises. This, the Joint Training Arc, the training camp...maybe that’s where his insecurity issues stem from. And with a little tease of Tsuyu and Tokoyami vs Ectoplasm, we leave off.
So yeah, another episode I really enjoy. I gotta tell you guys, the Final Exam arc is definitely a favorite of mine. I actually like it even more in the manga than in the anime, for the reasons I’ve outlined above, but it’s still a blast and I was so happy to see it as the next arc. i wasn’t ready for a new villain-based arc yet, and the sheer premise of BKDK Vs All Might is so amazing, I’m hyped as hell just remembering Episode 37. Oh, speaking of...
BKDK CORNER
Tumblr media
We focus in on Deku, contemplating his Great Destiny, as Mina and Kaminari talk about how complacent they are in their chances of success. Cue Kacchan, like an embodiment of Deku’s subconscious, telling them off.
Tumblr media
I’ll stop the world and melt with you.
Tumblr media
This line has a bunch of different translations, all basically meaning ‘I’ll beat you’. The Shippiest is the English Dub, where he says “I’ll show you how much better I am.” Which plays into his Notice Me Senpai hidden attitude towards Deku. I think it’s a mix of both “I want to beat you” and “I want to impress you”. Deku is quiet here. He’s very quiet about his feelings for Kacchan throughout all of Season 2, but he still quietly demonstrates the importance of that dynamic through his actions in the Sports Fest (inspired by Bakugo) and his Full Cowling (also inspired by Bakugo).
Tumblr media
Aw they were already standing together.
Tumblr media
I’ll talk more on the symbolism of BKDK fighting All Might in Episode 37, but oh man, this is the best. Like, THE BEST. I love this fight. To Sum: They both want to be All Might, each is half of the whole, and they both have to expel that perfect-imperfect image of him they have to make it. Also, I totally think Aizawa and All Might ship it. “I went with relationships” Yup. You sure did, Aizawa.
BEST GIRL OF THE EP: No new best girls this ep
RANKER: Final Exam Arc Fights
10: MINETA AND SERO  VS MIDNIGHT
This one is really dull because Midnight just doesn’t do very much to win the fight. You need the teacher putting up more of an effort!
9. URARAKA AND AOYAMA VS 13
They just...kinda fluked their way into winning.
8. SHOJI AND HAGAKURE VS SNIPE
Poor Snipe, There’s not a lot he can really do in this situation
7. KIRI AND SATO VS CEMENTOSS
Short and quick and to the point.
6. MINA AND KAMINARI VS NEZU
Poor dopes never stood a chance.
5. IIDA AND OJIRO VS POWER LOADER
Short but kinetic and exciting.
4. TSUYU AND TOKOYAMI VS ECTOPLASM
Some good strategy here and Tsuyu did really great.
3.  KODA AND JIROU VS PRESENT MIC
Jiro is underrated best girl.
2. TODOROKI AND MOMO VS AIZAWA
A brilliant fight of strategy and character development.
1 BAKUGOU AND DEKU VS ALL MIGHT
How could it be anything else?

AUGH FOR THE KISS PROMPTS! could you do bkdk with #25 :0
Of course!  #25 …as a ‘yes’. I was super excited when I saw this ask and started on it right away! It’s kinda long and has a bit of angst at the beginning. I hope you enjoy! Sorry for any errors, I didn’t have a beta reader.
Katsuki is staring at him from across the room, Izuku can feel it. No, he can't even consider it staring, it's more like glaring. He glances over to confirm it, but his gaze shoots right back down. He wonders if he did something to piss him off. It's been a few years since Katsuki looked at him like that, the last time was definitely before they even started dating, and they’re pro heroes now.
Not that it makes a difference, they barely see each other any more, he thinks. Maybe that's the problem, Katsuki is mad at him because on their only shared day off, he helped one of their friends move instead of going over to his place to cuddle and watch movies like they planned. He had nearly forgotten about that, it was a couple weeks ago. Was that when the looks started? He can't even remember. But it's keeping him on edge, in a way he's not really familiar with.
Katsuki never looks at him like that any more.
Like he's trying to find the best way to tear him apart.
They're partners heroes for the same agency, and even though they don't live together they see each other almost every day. Or they used to, that is. Recently Katsuki is just ignoring him when he wants to spend the night, or rolling his eyes when Izuku offers to have Katsuki over. When had they lost their communication? He's afraid to even ask him, he doesn't want to start a fight, or even worse, just get ignored.
Because wouldn't that mean Katsuki has finally given up on him? When he doesn't want to argue?
Izuku sighs softly, burying his face in his hands. He stopped listening to the hero giving a presentation a long time ago, has no idea about the crime rates or anything. It's probably for the best that he can look over these later. It's way too much to focus on right now. Not with all his personal issues. If they need him, he'll get out of his head, but these reports are way too boring for him to pay attention. He's relieved when he's dismissed, and heads to his desk to try to finish his reports from his previous walks.
He's too restless.
He can't do this.
Izuku stands up suddenly, heading upstairs and changing into his costume.
He's going to at least patrol to put his energy somewhere. Izuku supposes he'll go alone, since Katsuki doesn't seem to want anything to do with him.
Partners, huh?
He's surprised by the bitterness in his own thought. Maybe this is getting to him more than he thought. He runs a hand through his hair, and shakes his head. Just stop thinking for once in your life, he tells himself. Just for now, just focus on being a hero for now. He looks around as he walks, jogging along in a few spots.
There doesn't seem to be anything to distract him today, which is almost a disappointment. He can't believe there is ever a day where he's hoping something bad might happen, but he's come to that. Izuku rubs his arm, looking around. He decides to detour from his normal patrol route, maybe hoping to catch a villain nearby.
A crash shakes the ground beneath him, tossing him against a wall. He gasps in pain, reaching up to hold his head. His vision is blurred completely, but he tries to blink it back. He has to help anyone else who got hurt, he thinks. He can hear a nearby building crumbling, and desperately shoves his com into his ear.
“Deku here. The ground suddenly shook and buildings collapsed. I'm unsure if it's a villain attack or just an earthquake. I'm near the scene and will report as soon as possible.” Izuku is already running towards the scene, weaving between civilians running away from the destruction.
The scene is a hell scape, he decides quickly. Smoke blurs his vision further and makes it difficult to tell if a villain is causing further destruction, but it doesn't seem like anything is falling or breaking, so he makes the quick choice and assumes natural disaster. He reports it in, asking for back up, before heading to the first injured civilian. It doesn't take long for a triage station to be set up, and he brings anyone he finds there to get medical help.
Distantly, he notices that Katsuki has arrived as well, but he doesn't really care. Not until Katsuki is running over to him and asking if he's alright. He tips his head to the side, then looks away from him.
“You suddenly care now?” he asks softly. “It doesn't matter, we have civilians to save.” Izuku pushes past Katsuki, heading into the building once more. He freezes when there's a hand on his shoulder, pulling him back. “What the hell?” he asks, turning to look at him with annoyance and shock on his face. “What do you mean, I suddenly care now? I always fucking care,” Katsuki says, voice getting soft instead of aggressive. “I think I know why you think that though, can we just talk about this after?” He looks around, looking frustrated. “But you need to go sit down, your head is like fucking bleed, Izu. And you're walking like you're fucking drunk, so you should sit the fuck down before you hurt yourself or someone else.”
Izuku's just stares at him, confused, then slowly reaches up and touches the side of his aching head. “Ah,” he whispers. “Okay. We can talk later,” he says, moving over towards the triage station. He doesn't want to take up the medical care for civilians who need it, though, so he turns and starts the walk back to the agency. When his adrenaline starts to fade he can feel his injury a lot more, he ends up having to take breaks to just lean against the wall on the way. His head is pounding now.
He stumbles into the agency, scaring the secretary quite a bit, he's sure. He looks up at her, eyes bleary, then collapses to the marble floor of the atrium. His body aches, and he's never been more excited to just close his eyes and rest.
When he opens his eyes next he sees a white hospital room. He groans, rolling over slightly. His body aches and his stomach heaves. It hurts so much. His lungs burn from breathing in the smoke and his head, god his head. He's had his fair share of injuries from the many rescues he's participated in, but this has got to be the worst of it.
He turns his head to the side when he hears something, a relieved sigh falling from his lips when he sees Katsuki sitting next to him. He sits up slowly, groaning in pain as his head starts to pound worse. “Fuck,” he mumbles, squeezing his eyes shut. He shifts slightly, leaning back against the pillows once more. A hand on his shoulder surprises him, he had thought Katsuki was asleep. He jerks his head back to look up at him.
“Hey,” Izuku whispers, giving him a worn out smile.
“Hey yourself. Why the hell did you walk all the way back to the agency instead of just catching a ride from the scene? I swear to god, you gave the god damn secretary a fucking heart attack,” Katsuki says, voice rough. His eyes are red rimmed, as if he's just been crying, and it makes Izuku feel kind of bad. “You...gave me a fucking heart attack, Izu, I...” He cuts himself off as tears well into his eyes again. “I thought you were going to die. The doctors said you weren't, but I thought you were because you looked so fucking pale laying in that bed, and it wasn't fucking fair, okay? So don't you ever do that to me again.”
Izuku opens his mouth to say something, but just closes it again, looking over his face. He reaches up and grabs Katsuki's hand tightly. He gives it a soft squeeze, then clears his throat. “I promise I won't,” he whispers, then closes his eyes and leans his head against his arm. “I was being stupid. I made a stupid choice because I smacked my head on a wall. And also, because I was panicking about you ignoring me and it made me kind of irrational, I guess. I ran into a huge rescue situation without my partner, that was a bad choice too.”
Katsuki huffs a laugh, then nods. “Yeah, I guess that's a good reason to make a stupid choice,” he agrees. “Smashing your head onto a wall isn't a great way to kick start thoughts, dumb nerd,” he mutters. He sighs softly, leaning down and kissing his forehead. “About that, you're going to think I was being a huge idiot.”
Izuku bites his lip, sighing softly. “I already think you're a huge idiot, so it's not going to be anything new,” he responds, voice slightly sassy. He smiles when Katsuki gives him an annoyed look, tipping his head to the side. “What's wrong, Kacchan? You know you can tell me anything you want,” he whispers.
Katsuki runs his fingers through his hair, glaring down at the ground, then back up at Izuku. “I was...trying to figure out how to ask you to move in with me. It's like...we never see each other any more, and we practically live together already but I want to wake up to your dumb soft face every morning and kiss you even if we both have morning breath and I want to hug you and have you to myself and on the mornings we finally get the day off together, I want to wake up to a soft morning together and eat breakfast and curl up close and dammit Izuku you make me so fucking stupid and sappy.”
Izuku stares up at him for several long seconds, tears welling into his eyes. His voice feels choked, and he can't think of anything to say. He's overwhelmed and his chest feels tight.
“Fuck, Deku, say something. You're making me nervous here, if you want to say no just fucking say it, I'd totally get it. It's no big deal or anything.” Katsuki crosses his arms tightly over his chest, tears welling into his eyes. “Just fucking say <i> something </i> Izuku, shit, you've never been so quiet in your damn life!”
Izuku grabs Katsuki's shirt and yanks him down into a kiss, trying to express the feelings he can't seem to say. Their tears mingle and soak their lips, turning their kiss salty. When Izuku finally leans back, he chokes softly on a sob.
“Yes, Kacchan, yes god yes. I want to so badly, I love you so much,” Izuku finally says, voice trembling. “I love you so much and I do want to be there when you wake up and when you fall to sleep and I want you to hold me when I'm sleeping.” Izuku sniffles softly, reaching up to pull him down to kiss him again.
Katsuki holds him close, kissing him back .He smiles slightly into his lips. “Thank you,” he whispers. “For putting up with me and for agreeing to move in with me.” He sighs softly, sliding his fingers through his hair. “And I'm so sorry for how I was acting, baby. You know I love you more than anything and I would never just ignore you. I felt so bad but every time I saw you I like, panicked. So I'm so sorry. I really love you so much.”
“It's okay. Just stop squeezing me so tight because I'm like a ball of bruises.” Izuku smiles at Katsuki when he loosens his grip, then leans up to steal another kiss before settling on the bed once more. “It's not fair to make people with head injuries cry,” he teases, closing his eyes and relaxing back into the pillows. His head is so painful he thinks it could knock him out.
But at least he figured things out with Katsuki. The thought on his mind as he drifts back off is moving in with Kacchan, the love of his life. He hopes this is just the next step before something even better.

Idk how the post you just made works, but 21, bakudeku??? Thank you for reading this, I love your account💖💖💖
ahhh thank u!!
what does best friends sibling au mean
okay honestly not too sure what best friends sibling au means and kinda uncomfortable with writing a sibling au anyways, so i’m going to do prompt two: childhood best friends au which fits bkdk pretty well.
edit: so i finished writing it and it’s not even really an au but i hope this is okay ///o\\\ it’s been so long since i wrote a drabble just for myself, i hope you like it!!
“C’mon, so you’re telling me that you guys are just friends?”
Izuku groaned in frustration. “No, we’re not even friends. How can you not see that? Kacchan absolutely hates me!”
Uraraka and Iida exchanged glances. “It doesn’t seem like Bakugou-kun hates you to me. In fact, there seems to be too much unresolved sexual tension in the room that we’re suffocating in it.”
“Uraraka-san’s bad word choices aside, we do all see it, Midoriya-kun,” said Iida. “You two are like moths to a flame, though often butting heads. I think you guys have what could be a really good dynamic, if funneled better.”
“That’s sweet, Iida-kun,” Izuku told them, “but history is history. Kacchan and I just have too bad of one. He doesn’t trust me. He never will. And honestly, I don’t think I do either.”
“But do you hate him?”
Izuku winced. He didn’t. Doesn’t. Not really. Not in a way that felt like true hatred. It was more…frustration. At Kacchan’s stubbornness. At their poor communication.
“I don’t.” He knew this resolutely. “I can’t. Hating him is just… Even though we may not get along as well as i want to, I do know him. He can be a jerk, but I just can’t hate him knowing what he’s like. Why he’s like this.
“Sure, Kacchan has a lot to improve on and maybe he’s not the nicest person to me, but I can’t hate him for it. He’s still such an amazing person to me.”
Uraraka and Iida were making eyes at each other again. They were conversing, silently. With only their eyes. “What?” Izuku demanded.
“Can you tell us again that you guys are just friends?”
Izuku looked them, stupefied. “But we are just friends! There is nothing between us. How can you guys not understand that?” His two friends were truly hopeless. Hopeless romantics. What were they seeing?

CONGRATS ON 3000!!! ya'll deserve it for all this bomb ass meta
You beat us to the announcement post!! >:D
Well before I continue, let me say:
THANKS TO YOU ALL WE’VE REACHED 3000 FOLLOWERS! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
What the anon is describing and what we are so happy to hear has been one of our biggest goals and to hear how many people have learned, feel safer, or even are inspired just from reading our writing, you all make this blog thrive and we appreciate you all so much!
Anon bless your heart, I can say absolutely yes we did feel close to the way many others have felt and what you read under the cut might make a lot of other people feel better if they feel they’re in the spectrum you and all of us have been in.
In the case of Bakudeku, I’d say we were mostly private about it and didn’t really approach e/o publically because we didn’t want to upset our friends talking about it. I can say for a fact I had a lot of hesitance (x)(x)(x) about even admitting I enjoyed the two and walked on eggshells for the most part.
However we couldn’t shake all the foreshadowing we were getting from the story off. We’re both kind of analytic nerds so dropping the bomb on the narrative and what we were being told entirely was an itchy spot.
We started off discussing Bakugou and Deku’s future in theory, speaking in terms of “not now, of course” and “they’re bad now, but look at what they can become!” to reassure ourselves.
There were people along the way who were the same way and we’d make small chats so we can discuss amongst ourselves what the story was telling us, and in the midst of all that we made a couple of Japanese speaking friends who told us what we were getting from the story was mostly wrong.
Metas that really influenced us first were writings by @ryokure who was one of the first we saw correct translations and we’d cite them for information often.

And...believe it or not, the Reddit BNHA page!
The users on BNHA reddit can be a little crude when they want to be but for the majority of the part they really speak in depth about the series and these characters, especially about Bakugou and Deku.
There had always been so many good gems. (x) (x) (x) [Those are only a few!] and if people could have a proper discussion on Reddit about something so blatantly complex we began to realize we could share the same enthusiasm outside our little friend circles!
What I can say is...as we were reading, we got the potential right away, we didn’t need anyone to tell us because we read it. What we couldn’t shake off initially was our fear, because we didn’t want to look too deep into something that would be painful or damaging. We realized, thats exactly what the story wants us to do, and we weren’t wrong for understanding these two went beyond the expectations of their introductions in the first chapters.
It’s been pretty hard, but this fandom has grown exponentially in the year we’ve been involved, it really only used to be us two and maybe a handful of 4-6 friends that grew and grew as people got more open and expressive, as well as how the story has progressed.
We believe no one should be scared for feeling confident about the growth of these two boys together as they become the greatest people they can be and dream together. It’s what Horikoshi and all the characters have told us is going to happen, they’re all rooting for them, so the only question we had and pursued was... why couldn’t we?
That’s why our goal has been only to keep people from feeling this way, give them a platform in which the words that have been written can be explained in depth, and... so we can all just have a little fun! >:)
Again...you alls support mean the world to us... thank you so much!
