I hate that we still need to say this, but if an artist makes art, and you like it one of the biggest insults (not to mention a crime) is to steal it from them. I'm not a big artist, and until now I didn't feel the need to say this, because it's just human decency to not repost your fellow fan's fanarts.

Like even in the beginning you can argue the Decepticons were meant to be a very vague comparison to communism, in the same way that your mom or uncle might call someone who they don't like a commie. He's typically your typical primary villainous antagonist in say g1 or beast wars, as a character sure he's grown more complex but sometimes they put a revolutionary gone haywire spin in his character. Like if they're saying this for IDW Megatron I believe there isn't a direct real life analogy for him, but even if there was it's not that asshole. Do they realize what a specific recipe the holocaust was or do they live in Florida where schools are legally allowed to not teach it?

I am starting to get worried about people's educations now, because I know I find critically thinking hard but I don't think even I could come up with a take like that. Maybe I'm taking the word literally too literally here. I don't post on here a lot because I have really bad anxiety and interacting with other people is terrifying. But I'm so upset and so hurt that I need to share this.

Someone stole my work and tried to pass it off as their own (and yes, I have receipts, one section posted below). It's an old fic, one I haven't touched since 2018, but it's still something I put a lot of time, energy, and love into. Lines that I had worked for hours rewriting, trying to make sure the characters were in character, quips I was so proud of, all of it stolen by someone.

And I think the worst part is that when I commented, they told me that they thought that they had mentioned me and my fic in the comments and they didn't mean to make it seem like they were stealing my work. BUT THEY DID STEAL MY WORK.

First time fic writers, I CANNOT STRESS this enough! If you are taking lines (this person toom ENTIRE PARAGRAPHS) from someone else's work and putting them in your fic, YOU ARE STEALING!

Be inspired by someone else's idea, that's fine. I've been inspired by others' ideas (lots of my fic ideas are headcanons and suggestions from my friends). But don't STEAL. It's okay to try out different voices and different ways of writing. My writing style has changed A LOT since I started sharing my work. Reading work from 2018 versus today is so different because I was still trying to find my style and I emulated a lot of the authors I loved without realizing it. And that's okay! You'll find your voice, your style, everything. But what you can't do is STEAL!

In all seriousness, the past few years have really degraded my tolerance for conspiratorial thinking, paranormalism, and any kind of thinking that doesn't assume real, provable causes before wild, impossible speculation. It's gotten to the point that Witchblrs talking about spell jars and Goncharov are setting off alarm bells for me.

The past few years have seen the world treat provable reality as a trinket to be thrown away as soon as it is inconvenient. I don't want to be the Fun Police telling you not to watch Buzzfeed Unsolved because it'll destroy objective reality and break democracy, but at a certain point we have to recognize that society has a blase relationship with objectivity and not everyone is getting the message that Orson Welles is narrating fiction.

I just came across a zosan post about Zoro on wci (again) and I have to say, you guys need to be realistic.

I love zosan, I really do, but Zoro on whole cake would have been a DISASTER. He wouldn't add anything to the story—he'd make things worse if anything. Zoro's not a trusting man, and he always puts the captain first. There's already so much tension between the two; even though they do actually like eachother do you really think Zoro has the emotional capacity to be considerate in that scenario??? Absolutely not. They would 100% end up fighting which would just complicate everything.

If anyone else should have been there, it's people who'd understand where he's coming from. People who've struggled with feeling like unnecessary weight to the crew and left because of it. Yes I'm talking about Robin and Usopp. Water 7 and Enies Lobby are arcs that make Sanji really shine in the crew as the one always chasing after the ones leaving, so wci paralleling that would have been absolutely perfect. (This has been said a lot before but it's TRUE and I will defend it to the end)

If you truly love zosan, maybe focus on scenes they already have??? Or things that actually could have happened—like, them reuniting on Wano after wci has a lot of angst potential. And it's a much better scenario than Zoro actually being on wci in my humble opinion. It just works so much better with their characters...

Take the personalities of characters into account when you're making ship content. Fanon only thrives when it's built on canon.
