I'm noticing an uptick in comments complaining that most of the current WIR fandom content is Turbo instead of the other characters and, like... you guys know you can search other characters by their specific tags, right??? Or exclude Turbo from search results by temporarily blacklisting him in your filtered tags?

Idk, it's just weird to me to be discouraging towards people making fandom content just because it's not the specific content you want to see, like, it's ok to want to see other content, but complaining about how other people aren't catering to your tastes enough instead of just making the content you want to see yourself is kinda bad vibes, y'know?? (And that's not to say that I think those comments are intended out of malice of course, I really don't think they are, I just wanted to point out that it can come off as a little entitled, as well as discouraging towards people who just want to draw Turbo, which is something that should be fine if that's what they want to do. Fandom should be fun for everybody, and there's lots of tools available to curate your experience with it!)

MYSTERY

rafe cameron x reader summary: she tries to unravel the mystery of the kook prince with a little help from her cousin, barry. a/n: this went from dark to sexy and i'm not complaining. masterlist | tag list

she's seen a lot -- her cousin's barry from the cut, after all. but she meets country club, then, after ages of hearing about him. about the blonde boy reeking of privilege, of daddy issues and coke addiction that gets him into shit, time and time again.

she's heard about him, alright. but he's now friends with barry, so she's thinking it's time he makes the effort.

'country club,' she calls him, catching him on the street.

rafe raises an eyebrow at her. 'you know barry?'

'cousins,' she says. 'you owe him money.'

he tenses up. denies. she pushes more, he starts looking around as if waiting for barry to jump out the bushes, but she laughs instead. 'just teasing. come for a beer.'

he doesn't want to, at first, but she's got nothing if not the same charm everyone in the family's got, even barry. when he needs it.

so she ends up at the bar with rafe cameron, the prince of the kooks, looking him up and down. trying to figure him out, catch him slipping, but all he is, is tense.

he's a mystery to her.

she knows she should stay away, barry's told her plenty times that she's looking for nothin' but trouble and good for nothin' but causing more of it, but she likes it.

and she likes that his shoulders are relaxing with the beer and lips loosening.

the mystery starts to unravel, she thinks, but the mention of his dad snaps the prince back into the cage.

she puts a hand on his thigh. 'relax. we're all friends here.'

they weren't friends and he knew it, but there was something between them, alright.

he knew that, too.

so more beer flows and she keeps a watchful eye on him, on his shoulders, on his biceps, on his cheekbones, on the cut edge of his jaws. he's got a buzzcut and her hands are itching to brush over the short hairs, and her hand doesn't leave his thigh, just moves up a little, bit by bit.

'country club,' she says. 'wanna take this outside?'

'you threatening me?'

'only with a good time.'

there's a moment of hesitation and then her hand is in his and he's leading them outside, behind the bar, where the street lamp doesn't reach. glass shards cracks beneath their feet and then there's the thud of her back pressed against the wall, her legs hiked up around rafe's waste as he trails kisses down the side of her neck.

at the end of the night, he's no less of a mystery than he was before, but she likes it. she watches him as he wakes slowly, in his royal bed, and thinks she needs to do this again. she needs to unravel this man, bit by bit, until he's laid bare before her.

he kisses her when he wakes, and then it's a good time all over again.

it's finally here!!! my beloved fic for the 520 day guardian reverse exchange! this was written for trobadora, who gave me the most delicious set of ideas to fit into a story. it was so fun.

i have no idea how to describe this fic, frankly - this is, hands down, the most complex and most heartwrenching and most incredible thing i've ever written in my entire life.

here is a list of some things in it: a kiss, a mystery, a change of heart. old chinese people, dark energy world-building, lesbians, big-time character parallels, forgery of documents, rainstorms, rowboats, lollipop symbolism, [redacted], bedsharing, grading, the stupidest undercover name ever. zhao yunlan described with so many light metaphors. shen wei being the most shen wei i could make him.

I like to think that he probably wouldn't have medically transitioned before moving in with Usagi, since he & Takahiro wouldn't be able to afford it. Usagi would GLADLY pay for HRT and surgery tho (he'd pay for anything Misaki wants lol, tho Misaki would OFC feel guilty about it)

I feel like Usagi would be a bit ignorant in the beginning but he just loves Misaki so much that he doesn't really mind, he just wants to make him happy

Another reason the "wonderful in a vacuum" scene of Lenore choosing to look at Hector in her last seconds of her life doesn't hit as it should, is that the show didn't do what it could have to build up this moment. And I'm not just talking about how Lenore never loved Hector in the first place so her final moment of caring feels mocking.

In S3E6, she says this:

Hector: Daylight can be nice, too. Lenore: I'll take your word for it. Hector: You don't remember daylight? Lenore: Never much cared for it. I was always a night person. Hector: You might be missing something, you know. Only coming out at night. Lenore: Oh, I don't think so. Just look. I can't see how the sun would improve this view.

Now, this is not a bad moment. First of all, it's all part of Lenore's manipulations to make Hector accept to work for them ("Look at this lovely view! Surely you'll want to stay here, won't you?"), and it's a good strategy because while Hector is a human and not afraid of the sun, he's already accustomed to living among creatures of the night. Plus, her preference for the night fits her and her attempted aesthetic of "sad winter princess". And, of course, I doubt they had planned her suicide by sunlight when they wrote S3.

But in S4, the topic never comes up again, when it could have quite nicely. Since Lenore spends the whole season feeling sorry for herself, repeating the information "Carmilla's plan makes me feel useless", for a change she could have snuck in something like this:

"You know, it's funny. I haven't seen the sun in two hundred years. I almost forgot how it looks like... How it would feel for the sunlight to hit my skin without it blistering. The moon has its beauty, of course, but..."

One, this could be a genuine bonding moment between Lenore and Hector. As I pointed out, she only strikes casual conversations with him in S3 for the sake of manipulating him: once she's "solved his problem", she mostly vents about her personal issues, and the only natural, mutually respectful conversation they have is the one about strength and power just before her suicide, which is far too late. Maybe they could talk about what they miss, what they'd like to see... with the added irony that Hector is trapped in that castle so he can't do anything he would like to do, and it's all Lenore's fault to boot. Maybe Hector's lack of concrete answer would not only hint at hidden resentment, but it could foreshadow how he actually didn't think far ahead because he's secretly waiting for Isaac to come and kill him, or that his only plan for the future is to destroy the Council, which he's keeping under wraps; but it would also be nice if he had a dream, like going to see the ocean again. hector in s4 sorely lacks a personality that is not his depressing love for lenore and i would love to fix it

Two, it could be symbolic of Lenore regretting her vampire nature, or perhaps even foreshadowing her flirting with the idea of killing herself if Carmilla's plan comes to fruition, since another criticism is that Lenore decides to kill herself with the same consideration one chooses which dress to wear for the day. Lenore, as her basic concept, wants to be the bridge between humankind and vampirekind, and there are hints of this, such as her makeup that make her look like a living human being (contrast her with Carmilla, who looks like a corpse), her declaration that she enjoys eating food equating it to living a good life, and her insistence to use diplomacy in a culture that thrives on war and conquest, which gives her the reputation of being soft and weak. So, it would make sense for her to, at one point, drop her mask and admit that she misses the human pleasure of the sunlight, maybe even expressing subtle envy that Hector can experience it; the Lenore in S3 was a bundle of lies carefully woven to lower Hector's guard, but now she is fully sincere and open, showing her heart to the one person who would listen to her. It would be cute and sad at the same time if she asked him to describe him what the sun feels like, and Hector gave a wishy-washy answer, because he has never cared about it - or rather, his own humanity, paralleling Lenore in yet another aspect.

Of course, during the same time Hector is taking advantage of Lenore's inability to stand in the daylight to study on his own and plot behind her back, so the scene would be even more tragic. Hector is already benefiting from his own humanity to cause Lenore's downfall.

And three, her final choice would have more weight. Not only, with the added context, Lenore's grief would be more easy to interpret as "no matter how hard I try, I'm a cursed creature doomed to live in misery and spread misery, I'm tired of living in the night" and not "weh i refuse to live in a cage :< sorry hector idc about you i refuse to live if i don't have a shred of power", but also, well. Lenore wanted to see the sun. She has found the courage to see the sun, knowing that it will nor reconnect her with her lost humanity, but it will only lead to her death. And then... at the last moment... she renounces it. Sure, the sun is pretty, much like the moon... but neither of them, in the end, can compare to Hector, who is one of a kind, who, unlike the sun, cared about her. Now it works, after more buildup.

(also it would be much nicer if Lenore melted like Dracula, instead of turning into pretty dust. Show her as the monster she never accepted herself to be.)

Now, this only fix only a fraction of the infinite and immense issues I have with Lenector in S4. It needs to be reworked from the foundations, and I focused too much on Lenore when the source of my anger is everything surrounding Hector and the sanification of Lenore's actions. But look at how easy it is to build a much more organic chemistry, when you don't waste precious screentime on dick jokes and rape apologism! The building blocks are all here! I'm just so profoundly sad when I see the botched attempt of a good story and it wouldn't have taken much effort to improve it, just respect for your own writing.

A compilation of my Ragbros Headcanons thus far

Sleeping:

Kaeya sleeps on his side, but he never sleeps on his left side due to it making where his dominate eye would be covered and he couldn’t see any possible threats coming. Making it where he mostly sleeps on his right side so the eyepatch is in the pillow, and allowing him to clearly see anyone approaching him should he wake up. The only times he would sleep on his left side was when he was little and he and Diluc would share a bed because he felt safe and didn’t think he needed to constantly be on guard when his brother was by him. 

And He prefers to hug something while he sleeps and curls up around it because he is touch starved. 

Hair:

Kaeya had shorter hair when he arrived at Mond (similar cut to Dains and Albedo) but he grew it out so he could look like Crepus and Diluc. 

Food:

He has a bad habit of eating properly. As in if he’s busy he will just push through the hunger until his task is complete. The other Knights know this so they bring him food, Lisa drags him away for tea time, and others have instructed Klee to go get him to take her to lunch because they know he wouldn’t let Klee go hungry and she makes him eat with her. One of Klee’s very important knight jobs is to take Kaeya to lunch, which she takes very seriously. 

Kaeya is a grazer when it comes to eating. He nibbles on things throughout the day and prefers light snacks and meals compared to three heavy ones. 

Diluc, however, is a hearty eater and likes to eat large protein-packed meals. He always was hungry growing up and would eat whenever it was offered. 

Diluc always wanted to make sure kaeya was eating too, so he would always break off part of what he as eating when Kaeya didn’t order for himself and give it to him to nibble on. Their system made it where Diluc didn’t over eat, but Kaeya didn’t grow hungry later on.

Debts:

Kaeya hates owing debts. He will do everything in his power to pay someone back for helping him out, whether they know it or not. If you help him or he sees/hears about you helping someone he cares about you’re now on his radar and he will look for any opportunity to pay you back. Most of the time, he pays people back without them ever realizing it. 

Someone was having an issue with a bully? Suddenly that bully won’t even look them in the eye anymore.

Another person was looking for a certain item and couldn’t find it anywhere? It magically appears in their mail one day. 

Scared to walk home alone at night from work? Suddenly the Knights patrolling route has changed and you have an escort everyday. 

Jean:

When they were teenagers Kaeya saw how overworked Jean was with the pressure of living to her mother’s expectations, so he would go out of his way to try and do things to help her relax and have fun such as:

-throwing water balloons at their superior offices and forcing him and Jean to run and hide so they didn’t get caught.

-catching a frog or some other animal and bringing them to show her (especially any turtles he found) because they made her smile and talk in a baby voice 

-buying her her favorite snack and dropping them off on her shift and telling her the latest gossip he heard 

-dragging her off to a midnight bonfire with Diluc where they roast marshmallows and swap ghost stories 

Temperament:

Crepus is where Diluc gets his hotheadedness from. Crepus and Diluc’s love can grow too hot and turn into anger quickly (desire to protect others, frustration when someone doesn’t take care of themselves etc). And they are naturally loud people so they constantly have to check themselves so they don’t accidentally shout when excited about something or when they’re talking and joking. 

Kaeya was the complete opposite and his fury goes cold and silent. And would be very reserved. 

Crepus & Diluc really had to try to make sure they didn’t over-talk K when he first arrived and checked each other when one accidentally did it (not to be mean they just got excited and wanted to join the conversation). Kaeya slowly started getting a bit louder and C & D grew a bit softer. 

Books:

Kaeya is a book worm. It first started off as a way to gather information about Mond without seeming suspicious, but turned into a genuine hobby as he grew. 

As a kid he read more nonfiction: history of Mond, knights handbook, flower identifications, animal books (so he could discuss them with Diluc), gardening books (for Crepus), books about wine (for Crepus), fighting tactics, historical teyvat figures, barbatos history etc 

But after his father died and Diluc left he found himself reading sappy fiction books with happy endings and found family. Where the hero always ends up in a happy ever after with their loved ones. 

Lisa knows this and specifically gets books like this for him to read. They often discuss them together. Jean occasionally will too if she has time.

Animals:

Kaeya wasn’t the biggest fan of animals when he first arrived at Mond. They scared him, but Diluc was an animal whisperer/fanatic since birth. D realized that K was scared of them so made it his childhood mission to show K that (most) animals were nice. 

He fact-dumped information to K. Explaining their behaviors and body language. Reading animal books and showing him how to properly interact with them Because K seemed to calm when he had info, instructions, and logic to help him understand.

Maybe he even got a pet tortoise because it was a slow moving animal that wouldn’t easily startle or bite. Allowing K the space he needed to easily get adjusted to it. Letting him see animals were good and kind. 

D’s love for animals rubbed off on K. And now ppl find the Calvary Captain lovingly taking care of his horses and the stray cats of Mond. 

Seashells:

 What if on the day Diluc and Kaeya went seashell collecting when they were kids was the day Crepus asked Kaeya if he wanted to be adopted and Crepus planned a whole special day at the beach to ask him and celebrate and that is why Kaeya has kept the seashells this whole time because that’s when he became a Ragnvindr

Artbook stuff : on the ages of the elves !

So they went with the "stop aging for a while" after hitting a certain age - but the base was "1 elf year = 3 human years"

Granted, we see old elves, and I think a NPC calls Bestrals "unclean" or "corrupted" or something, so it means that old guy knew Bestrals used to be elves (something Bestrals themselves forgot!) some 800 years ago or something : was he there and lived through it, or was it hearsay?

As for Alcina...

Confirmation that yep, she used the "rejuvenation spell" like Yahna, but since she's supposed to be even more of a badass than her student, she apparently "rejuvenated" herself more than once? Still, the spell was reaching its limits, so she decided to body surf instead, picking an unwilling Eltrinde as her host.

At first I thought it was to get in the body of the elf priestress and thus get access to her special magic/priestress stuff, but what if she just wanted a "youthful" body that would last long?

Oh well, I guess it's nothing really new for her, save maybe for highlighting that Alcina was a very powerful mage, so her switching to the Zenoiran cause must really have done something to the morale of whoever opposed her/the Cornians who thought they could rely on her...

Sorry for taking so long to answer this, anon. I've been having a bit of a rough time lately. Yeah, honestly, Win's face was so precious while he was watching the CCTV footage. I was briefly discussing about him with a friend today, he's such a fascinating character, I can understand why Bible likes him so much (even though I'm sure my reasons for liking him are vastly different from his haha). We'd surely get more Korn/Tonkla/Win shenanigans if we had more episodes, but I feel that the show took advantage of the time it had fairly well. I was very satisfied with everything we ended up getting in regards to those three. Now, if the show was inspirational enough, we'll get more of them through fandom (fics, fanart, gifsets, meta, etc). I'll surely try to contribute to the best of my abilities - I began writing a fic based on the prompt I rebloged the other day, I hope the person who asked for it will like it <33

Ok so for quite some time now I’ve been thinking about removing my fics from my blog. Idk if this is insecurity about my writing, the AI scraping thing, or the fact I want to try out youtube stuff and don’t want my fics associated with it, but yeah, I want to remove them. At the same time, I don’t want to straight up delete them and only have them on AO3.

So long story short, I’m making a sideblog @flor-fics-archive (yeah I’m bad at naming things) where I will repost all my old fics + start posting new ones. Not sure at which speed since I don’t want to clutter the tags too much but at the same time want to get it over with, but yeah everything will be moved here. I might just make the sideblog invisible for search for a month or two after reposting so it doesn’t clutter the tags🤔. I also won’t promote my fics on this main blog so follow my fics one or AO3 page if you want to see when I post new ones.

Btw I made a new pfp for this sideblog and used the opportunity to update my current one as well, bc why not. I’m also changing the banner to my youtube one bc I’ve never been a big fan of the plushies pic one I’ve been using recently (I only used it bc I have no idea what to put but didn’t want to leave it blank either).

And in case it needs to be said the fics are the only things I’m removing from my blog. All the textposts, analysis, headcanons etc will stay here. So basically everything in the “my fanfics” tags will be deleted or moved to the sideblog, everything else stays here.
