Alec was on his feet now. His seraph blade was in his hand. He shot a look of contempt at Sammael. “Michael,” he said, and as the sword blazed up with holy name, Sammael visibly inched at the sound of the archangel’s name. Magnus felt a wave of pride. Not everyone could diss a Prince of Hell so artfully.

Michael is the name of the Archangel who defeated Sammael and it is also the middle name of Alec's son. Maxwell Michael Lightwood-Bane.

I just think how Alec when in battle can use both his son's names and lit up the seraph blade. Rafael. Michael. Alec loves both his children to infinity and I am so sure of that.

It's so beautiful to know the fact that Alec thinks of his family and heads into a battle.

And, the way Magnus is proud of Alec makes this moment even better. Also, props to Alec's sassiness.

The way there's such a clear set up for a story with Rafe and Max; I would be so excited if we were to ever get even a short story on these two when they were older.

Like, here we have Rafe, a born Shadowhunter with a fascination with magic. And then we have Max, a born Warlock with a fascination with being a Shadowhunter.

With Max, you know he would be in pursuit of becoming a Shadowhunter, and Alec and Magnus would worry because of the discrimination of him being a Warlock, but all the same Alec would train him himself. And yes, Tessa, a warlock, was able to become a Shadowhunter, but she had her challenges for being accepted, and she had advantages that Max doesn't. For one, she was half a Shadowhunter, so runes worked on her, with Max, they might not. Another thing, was that Tessa didn't look out of place, she didn't have any features that suggested she was a Warlock. But with Max, he's blue, and since he can't 'pass' for not looking like a Warlock, that would add an extra stigma. So here we have Max, who can't accept runes, and looks very much like a Warlock; he won't be accepted easily. Of course, what with Alec being Consul, he'll try his best to have Max be accepted in the Shadowhunter community as fairly as possible, but he can't control old mindsets.

And Rafe, he's an interesting one. Unlike with Max, who could just train and such, Rafe physically cannot do magic. He can study and understand magic all he'd like, thanks to Magnus and his connections to other warlocks, but he himself can't do it, that world is completely cut off from him. This could lead to Rafe doing something very shady in order to be able to do magic, which of course would lead to some very dire consequences.

So here we have these two brothers, both wanting to do opposing that the other brother was made for. This could definitely lead to some jealousy, as they watch the other one be such a natural at the one thing they want to do and yet don't care for. Like, Rafe would watch Max just so causally do spells and not even care about it, and Max would watch Rafe naturally get into the Shadowhunter crowd and get runes and just throw away the opportunity he's always wanted. They would love each other, of course, but natural resentment would build up. And with Magnus and Alec, their big in their fields, and this could lead to some unintentional pressures of its own. Max could feel like he needs to be really good at magic because Magnus is, and maybe feel like he's somehow betraying Warlock's by not going down that path. And Rafe could have this pressure that by not being a Shadowhunter he's not fulfilling his duty, that he's not doing his part in keeping the world safe. Of course, Magnus and Alec would never put that on their kids, but they can't stop outside influences and Max and Rafe's own thoughts.

With this whole set up, all sorts of shenanigans are sure to ensue, and I'm kinds sad we'll probably never get a whole trilogy out of it.

I love Tim. He's my favorite Robin, the one I grew up reading (even if I never read how he became Robin in the first place) and the one I know best. He's who I wanted to be like when I was younger (they all were actually).

Bucky Barnes

Baby boy has been through a lot but he's always bounced back. He's a great in proving that you can go through hell and make it to the other side.

He's a little shit (to me), a circus brat, gave us Lucky and is hot in his own way. He lives off pizza, which is how he met Lucky (if I'm recalling correctly), owns his apartment building (or did), and helps his community.

Katsuki Bakugo (or is it Bakugou?)

He's all knowing, to him, swears up a storm, you can tell he cares for Izuku even if he doesn't act like it, same with the rest of the class, is smart as heck especially because of his quirk, and is learning to be a better person, slowly.

Draco Malfoy

Arrogant, mama’s boy (even if he says his dad all the time), handsome, obsessed with Harry, I love his smile, and just him in general

Alec Lightwood

Sweet, harsh, baby boy. His smile, his shyness, his overall love for his family, and he just wants to do the correct thing. I love Jace but I picked Alec for this.

Sam Winchester

He’s Dean’s world, John loves him, he’s the baby of the two brothers and uses that to his advantage. Smart, pretty, deadly, nice, and sweet. He’s everything a person would want.

Kurt Hummel

He knows exactly what he was and will work for it. He’s so confident and he’s handsome also. He’s a great person and friend and while he has his ups and downs, as everyone does, he’s not afraid to try things.

JD Dunne

He’s the youngest of the seven, the official sheriff (it’s all of them, he just took the actual job and Chris is in charge), he’s eager to do what’s correct, Buck literally took him under his wing from the get go (which got Chris to start liking him), he adores his friends and family, and he’s handsome as heck.

One extra because people might consider Bucky and Clint part of the same fandom.

Rodney McKay

He’s an asshole and knows it. Is one of the smartest people on Atlantis, there are a lot of them, scared to death of crap but still does it. He's also a bastard but that is him. He cares in his own way and loves his family and friends. He won't give up and just keeps going. He's my favorite person in the whole universe. I love him.

Every change in the new flower card book

Because I think about this series a normal amount, I went through my old copy of "An Illustrated History of Notable Shadowhunters and Denizens of Downworld" from 2016 and my new kickstarter edition that arrived yesterday, and took notes on every change. Some characters were added, some were given new art or facts, some had their information updated, and some are the same as they ever were. I split all these changes into categories, so you can look up what interests you. Full spoilery details below the cut.

First off, the general formatting was changed slightly. Instead of characters being split into categories based on series (TID, TLH, TMI, TFSA, TDA) and alphabatized by first name within those categories, they're all in one cohesive list that's alphabatized by surname.

So, to start with, there were a couple overall changes. In my old edition, characters had their common names listed above their flower card (ex: Alec Lightwood), and their full names on the page to the left that held their facts and stuff (ex: Alexander Gideon Lightwood). Some characters also have their maiden name on their flower card but their married name on the fact page, or vice versa (Celine Montclaire and Celine Herondale, or Helen Blackthorn and Helen Penhallow-Blackthorn). In the new edition, everyone is referred to by only one name, the common name that was already on the flower card. The section in the personal information for married/maiden name was also removed for all characters except Sophie Collins, Jocelyn Fray, Tessa Gray, Cecily Herondale, Imogen Herondale, Maryse Lightwood, and Jessamine Lovelace Gray. Every Single Thing I Have Ever Shipped!

Okay, let me be clear with a disclaimer that this has been throughout my entire life, and obviously, media targeted towards children that are mentioned are most definitely in the past.

I have them formatted with a small chunk of info as to why I ship/shipped them. I sorted them in order of how weird I think they are, from plain vanilla to the esoteric. I am also going to have a checkmark [✅] signifier that will indicate whether I've read fics for the ship or not.

They are so adorable. I love what their relationship represents and their dynamic in the sense of their attachment to each other. Like most people, I think I got a bit frustrated on their first date scene, but it was understandable, so that’s just a small gripe I have.

This show was my childhood, I think I started watching it with my family when I was under 10. Anyway, I feel like they were a slow burn done correctly. Wholesome as all hell, plus Fran is an amazing character and I love how she integrated herself into the family the right way.

You cannot deny that the “I loathe you” kiss was perfect. They hated each other for so long, and I get the dislike of that aspect to the relationship, but they still made them believable without squashing their pre-established chemistry.

H20: Just Add Water

I cannot believe that Sea Change and the episode where Lewis left made me cry. I must’ve watched Sea Change like 50 million times because it was just peak cinema to me, but I couldn’t watch Lewis leaving again because it crushed my soul so violently. The moment when he came back with that sweeping camera motion made me audibly gasp and kick my legs. It was that bad. 

Rikki Chadwick/Zane Bennett

I’m really sad they didn’t work it out in the end, although I completely understand Rikki and I wouldn’t want to go back to Zayne myself. Although it did seem like Zayne was trying to make things right with her in the last episode? But Mako Mermaids didn’t show her with Zayne, so I’m inclined to believe they never made up.

Yuri On Ice

Like- okay. They just hit different; I binge watched s2 with my sister, and the entire time, I was wondering who the mage guy was. Meanwhile, she was trying to convince me that Jayce is actually the villain because of obvious reasons, and she started being whiney when I was like, "I still don't see why." and then, when he was chatting with AU Viktor in ep 7, I had the lightbulb moment and was like "IS THAT VIKTOR?" and she TROLLED ME, she just went "nah" and I believed her like the good sister I am. Anyway, jayvik has my whole heart. THEIR SOULS ARE INTERTWINED IN THE ASTRAL PLANE.

Oof, I don’t like MHA anymore because it was just too toxic, and this ship used to be the OTP after Free!, but like, it’s fallen in the ranks super hard.

I only watched the first few episodes of the original Sailor Moon and the ending with my sister for my birthday, so this is another ship that I haven’t seen. But I still love them from what I’ve been exposed to and I hate that they were reduced to friends with the English dub.

I was kind of cringe during this era, and I did think they were endgame, which is why the ending tainted my opinion of the show overall. I fell off the show pretty shortly after the manga finished. But sometimes I will revisit these two to torture myself for some reason. I’m sure Destiel and Merthur shippers can concur.

Erwin Smith/Levi Ackerman ✅

You know, I loved the fake Ackerman lore that Eren came up with because it was an interesting literary device and at least confirmed this ship slightly. They felt very gay in a weird way.

It’s funny, I shipped them before Annie was revived and fell off the ship once they became canon. It felt really strange, but the way the relationship played out felt just contrived and fake afterward.

Okay, the one thing that I actually love about this ship is the reincarnation aspect to it because it really drives home how in love they are with each other. Yuki will always love Luka even if he doesn’t remember him, and Luka will love Yuki no matter what form he takes. Very deep.

I don’t understand why a lot of people didn’t like this relationship. They were very cute and gave me some Rapunzel/Flynn Rider vibes, especially in the very beginning. And I can see them in a very cute, mutually supportive romance.

I refuse to have my adolescence destroyed by part 2 after I saw the smallest clip of Joel dying, so I’m sticking to Left Behind. I was sobbing by the end of that DLC. Also, the show handled THAT scene perfectly. Loved it.

I am shooketh at the implications of the last episode. They were my favourite ship in MLP, and I am sad to share the cringe that I watched Bride and Daughter of Discord when that was around. But the whole paper bag thing during the epilogue made me implode, I’m so happy they ended up semi-canon.

They did have many moments that left me in a chokehold when I was in my older childhood years, but I fell off MLP for a solid 5 years before hearing the rumours on the grapevine that they became canon. And they are super close, you can tell.

These iconic chaotic lesbians made me squeal at Undyne’s cheek kiss in the end credits. I love practically every single one of their scenes together.

Did you know that there are "trope generators" out there in the wild, wide web? You just decide how many tropes you want, and then the generator gives you random tropes for you to cobble into a story. It's surprisingly fun.

My first pull happened to be "wrong number" and "Mob boss" - 🤣 And since I'm me, I have to insert some fun into this. I considered one of them being the mob boss and the other a cop, but honestly? Cop & Mob boss is like the majority of fics where mafia romances are concerned and "enemies to lovers" is not a favored trope of mine. So I thought, maybe something different.

Like Max calling what he thought is the homework help line, but he got a few numbers mixed up because he wrote the number down in a hurry when leaving class and is unable to read his own chicken scratch.

So he accidentally called Magnus Bane, head of the mafia NY branch.

Magnus: "Who is this?" Max: "Uhm, my name is Max Lightwood, from class 5b, of Idris school." Magnus: "And how did you get this number, young Maxwell?" Max: "Just Max is fine. And our teacher gave it to us?, in case we needed help with the equations? And I'm really stuck with the problem on 7d, page 19." Magnus: "… Are you talking about your homework? Max: "Yeah, of course. That's why I called the homework-help line?" Magnus: "I'm afraid you have the wrong number." Max: "Damn, really? Shit. BIOGRAPHY:

Isabelle Sophia Lightwood is the middle child and only daughter of Robert and Maryse Lightwood. Sometimes it's never fun surrounded by brothers; Alec the grump, Max the tiny terror and their adopted brother, Jace. She was raised, alongside Alec and Jace in the New York Institute, training her entire life to become a Shadowhunter. Despite it always being the three of them as a team, when her brothers became Parabatai, Izzy was more than happy for them. 

Clary coming along certainly shook things up a bit, but Isabelle, unlike her brother, was not keen on the girl joining them and despite having runes on her body, she did not believe her to be a true Shadowhunter; even hoping that the Silent Brothers' would not need to be called as Clary would not recover. Ultimately, she did recover and Isabelle was tasked with lending her some of her wardrobe whilst also telling her a bit more about Jace.

 Over time, Isabelle became greater friends with Clary and the pair helped one another with missions and personal things ~ quickly becoming good friends. She dealt with her own fair share of trials and tests; some that left scars that she would have to live with but, she was first and foremost a fighter; never one to give up.
